thanks to the almighty above that lee heeseung is tired, the basketball jersey stuck to his back, sweat covering his face and colouring the red fabric darker as he pants for his breath, or else the test paper in his hands would have been crumpled and ripped to shreds.

not because of his number obviously.

“99, i knew i rocked this paper!”, a dulcet, familiar voice floats up to heeseung's ear from behind him, followed by a mean eye roll from him and his stance still. heeseung doesn't bother to turn around, not when he recognizes the infuriating feminine voice and already visualises the usual dark brown braids hanging by the either sides of her face, school tie too tight and almost reaching the last button of the shirt.

“why the long face?”, jake's interruption breaks heeseung out of his trance, as he takes the much unwanted seat beside him, “96 not enough for ‘ya?”

“oh shut up”, heeseung returns jake’s scoff slamming down his physics answer sheet against the wooden table. both heeseung and jake know it's not enough, whether it's a 96 or a 99 ’cause,

“it's never enough unless i cross y/n’s marks”, heeseung sighs, the answer sheet dampening under the pressure of his sweaty hands, as his forehead became the victim of the other.

everyone in the class is aware of the cutthroat competition and abhorrence between the two brunettes, already expecting the usual bickering episode between the two whenever it was time for exam results, and even if by chance someone got the same results as any one of them, they'd do their best and not bother the two.

but today is different, today heeseung doesn't find his usual energy to bicker with the braided girl sitting at the back of the class, not when she managed to beat him thrice in a row at his own game!

“last time it was a marks’ difference and now three? how is this even possible?”, heeseung groans while flipping the sheets over and over as if something magical would happen and increase his numbers.

“i heard park sunghoon's been studying chemistry with her,” jake sighs, pushing his fingers through his dark hair as he turns his head to the side, but his eyes steal a glance at heeseung, and he smirks, “‘ya know, the chemistry toppe—”

“yeah yeah i got you jake, i know who he is”, heeseung presses the bridge of his nose a bit too hard, the familiar face of the boy floating up to his vision, though he can't remember where his loved moles are on him. oh how all the girls are head over heels for park sunghoon.

is y/n one of them too? he could swear they're hanging out too much.

stupid thought, stupid stupid thought. heeseung winces at his sudden curiosity, why is giving this matter so much thought? he doesn't like y/n anyway, he doesn't like her bickering, he doesn't like her annoying attitude, he doesn't like her hair, he doesn't like her scent and he definitely doesn't like her smile. so lee heeseung shouldn't really get his head messed up in this.

the school bell rings, bringing out new tedious groans and sighs from the students as they dawdle to their next classes.

“i think she's coming here—”

“don't you have a physics class to be at, jake?”

“yeah yeah shoo me away all you want to”, jake scoffs, a smirk playing at his lips when he slings a bag on his shoulder before leaving the class, “bet you can't shoo away her.”

and before heeseung even knew it the class was empty, except him and as empty, dispersed out in the crowded hallways to their next classes. that is unless the previous dulcet but annoying voice came closer to heeseung.

“heeseung!”, you chirp, approaching him from behind, “how was your paper?”

“ugh what do you—”, heeseung's anger dies down when he turns around to face you, your hair's not done into braids today, instead it's let open with your tie loose this time, a few drops of sweat sticking to your forehead, dance practice maybe? “—w-want?”

“your marks of course,” you giggle at his stutter, taking a seat beside him, “wanna make sure if i beat you or nah.”

“yeah you did, but not on your own huh?”, heeseung scoffs, looking down at you. he realises his heart skips a beat when you tilt your head to the side, holding eye contact.

not good.

“huh? what do you mean heeseung?”, you pout, acting ever so confused by his accusation, “not on my own?”

“oh come on, the whole class knows it now”, heeseung rolls his eyes, “park sunghoon, rings any bell?”

“oh hoon?”, you grin, covering your mouth and suppressing a small giggle, “he did help me a lot with chemistry, he's so sweet!”

heeseung doesn't realise his face is getting hotter and redder by the minute, both by your presence and the pronunciation of somebody else's name. he has a nickname already? hoon? no way, you have only ever interacted with him, whether it was bickering or asking for notes or silently sitting beside each other. so how did this other guy pop up?

“hoon,” heeseung mumbles his nickname, his eyes searching for something in yours and he doesn't even notice he's sounding jealous, “how are you guys so close already…”

“well he's been tutoring me chemistry for a month now—”

“a month?!”, heeseung's brows lift up and his jaw hangs open.

heeseung doesn't know if he likes your new look, the way the curls of your hair rests on your shoulders, the way your tie is loose from your neck and the way your head tilts to look at his, heeseung's heart skips a beat and it knows something is wrong.

“why? is something—” your lips fall apart, a soft blush takes place on your cheeks and you giggle again, in a teasing tone you nudge heeseung's arm, “aww are you jealous?”

“what? don't be ridiculous now.”

“heeseung is jealous, you are jealous, you are jealous j-e-a-l-o-u-s”, you continue this song, nudging heeseung and teasing him more and more, causing his cheeks to heat up, eyes turning back to the open window and then back to yours.

“shut up y/n, you're not funny”, he scowls, the soft breeze enters the empty classrooms and hits the both of you like a refreshing wave.

and in that moment, through your teasing manner, the empty classroom, the echoes of your laughter and the soft breeze caressing your hair, your long dark hair that matched his and the way his heart skipped a beat, the way his heart always skipped a beat while you were around, he realises it's something good.

“if you shut up now i swear y/n”, heeseung tried and kept his best ‘angry at you’ acting.

“oh really? then why don't you make me?”, a soft chuckle leaves your lips and you squint your eyes.

it happens all so fast, heeseungs soft lips on yours, falling right into place. it tickles you a bit like feathers and pulls you in, until you realise that's his hand snaking around your waist. the kiss was delicate, caring and brought so much warmth from a person you only argued with.

you gasp for air, first one to pull back.

you meet his eyes, scurrying through yours and cheeks all red, probably embarrassed of what he did. the kiss quickly coloured your cheeks, a shy smile playing around your lips and a small glint in your eyes.

“i-i don't know what i did—”

“its okay heeseung”, you shush a nervous heeseung, the proximity increasing the pace of your hearts, “do you like me?”

“i love you”, heeseung answers almost instantly, “i love everything about you.”

“me too”, heeseung is the most relieved as he hears this, that hoon guy got nothing on him now. he's the winner.

“so, are we gonna date then?”, he chuckles.

you nod, “let's surprise the class together!”

lee heeseung doesn't know what he wanted when he got his answer sheets. better marks than y/n, a bickering episode with her, or maybe her to fall in love with her? he doesn't know.

a smirk falls upon his lips and he pulls you closer by your waist. he looked ever so magical and beautiful up close, that you wish the bickering had died down earlier.

“whatever you say, pretty girl”, he leans in for a second kiss, indulging himself more into you, he swears his heart will beat out of the chest as soon as his free hand makes contact with your dark strands of hair.

outside the class stands a grinning jake with a bored sunghoon, and a quite high five is shared between the two, carefully peeking inside.

“so how long do you plan to stay down there?” the words fall off his lips almost breathlessly, eyes fixed on your pretty face, his dainty golden chain hanging near your face.

“hm, not sure,” you reply while reaching out to his soft locks with your fingers and brushing the strands away from in front of his eyes tenderly. “i like the view,”

he lets out a soft, breathy chuckle at your words, continuing the last of his morning workout which seems to be dragged out because of you. he pushes himself up, noticing how you’re lying still while holding in a laugh as he leans down a bit too close to your face. 

he tries to focus on the push ups but the way your eyes trace over the muscles of his arms makes his resolve falter. “you’re making this harder than it already is, angel,”

“i’m barely doing anything,” you reply with an innocent giggle and he stops in a higher plank position, looking at you before letting out a scoff. that’s the catch— you’re not doing anything and he’s having a hard time balancing on top of you, his arms parallel to the side of your face, legs trapping yours.

you don’t even have to do anything, jay already has it bad for you. the adorable and drowsy smiles you give him after waking up makes the blood rush to his cheeks. he tries to hide it, but you can definitely notice the way his ears turn red and he’s smiling like a fool at just one look from you. even now when you’re under him, looking like heaven’s incarnate with mischief in your eyes, making it hard for him to focus on exercising— albeit, he doesn’t ask you to leave— he feels like you’ve put a spell on him. 

he admires the cheeky grin on his lips, lowering himself down to peck your lips ever so gently before pushing himself back up. “are you having fun?”

“a lot,” you nod with a smile that has him melting and running laps in his mind, one that grows wider at the touch of his lips, making your chest flutter.

“good,” and he pecks your lips again, this time staying down for a few seconds more to savour the feeling of your lips against his a little longer.

you’re looking at him expectantly for another kiss but he gets off you, making your brows knit in confusion. you blink in surprise, sitting up on the floor, words spoken with a silver of confusion. “what are you doing?” 

“you had your fun. now my turn,” and he wraps his hand around the back of your neck, slamming his lips against yours, making you melt in the moment. it feels like a daydream— the way his soft lips move against yours slowly and sweetly, in love, and you hope it stays like this forever.

Darren Criss visits SRU

This past Thursday actor and singer Darren Criss visited SRU for this year’s Talkback and Tunes event hosted by The University Program Board (UPB).

Criss is known for his roles as Blaine Anderson in the tv show Glee and American Crime Story, as well as performing on Broadway.

The event was held in the ballroom of the Smith Student Center. Doors opened at 6 p.m. and the show began at 7 p.m.

Fans lined up on the third floor of the SSC and expressed their excitement to see Criss.

“I’m definitely excited, Glee is like my comfort show,” an SRU student said.

Three individuals arrived at the SSC at 2:30 p.m. the day of the show to be first in line.

A few students wore t-shirts or outfits from the TV show Glee.

The event was a moderated conversation where he answered multiple questions then sang a few songs to conclude the event.

Individuals were also given the opportunity to write down their questions prior to the event, to potentially have them answered by Criss.

The actor showed his excitement for being at SRU by wearing the school’s colors green and white, while talking about how grateful he is for the opportunity to do these types of events.

“I don’t take these things for granted, even though I’m farther away from having been a college student than I’d like to think. I still very much identify with student life and student culture as most artists tend to try to be students their whole life,” Criss said.

Criss answered multiple questions, some including what it has been like to work on TV shows and on Broadway. As well as talking about what it was like working on American Crime Story and getting the part on Glee.

The actor then talked to the audience about being in tech for a new Broadway show and what that has been like.

He also answered some fan questions written down prior to the event. Including asking what he is passionate about outside of entertainment and if there is a show and movie Criss would want to be in.

After answering various questions, the actor sang a few songs for the audience.

Students expressed their love for these types of events on campus.

“I think that events like this gives students opportunities to see people that we otherwise wouldn’t have,” an SRU student said.

“I think it’s also a good opportunity to spend time with your friends and share a common interest ’cause I think since we all like Darren it will be fun,” another SRU student said.

Top 5 Faves places in Torguard

@aquadestinyswriting's post about the Gardens of Galana got me thinking about my favourite settings within the walls of Torguard, so I thought I'd do a little Top 5 ranking.

Elo's office in the Special Recondite Unit The SRU (or wiggy wardens) is the special task force Elowyn captains post-game, whose remit is to police magical shenanigans. As Captain, Elo has her own office, but it's filled majoritively with things she's been gifted. I like it because it's Elo's home away from home and sanctuary. I also put a lot of thought into how it looked and where all the items it contains comes from, which makes it feel like a cozy place to be, despite its actual use.

The Gardens of Galana The Gardens are a public park but also a place of religious contemplation for adherents of the Green Goddess. It's one of my fave places because it's filled with green spaces and trees. And I bloody love trees. I imagine it as similar to the arboretums in Kew Gardens, which was utterly magical when I visited. One of those places which is an utter joy to write about.

The Skiving Scholar The Scholar is a pub equidistance between Watchhouse 8 and the Wizards' Tower, making it the local haunt for Elo, Farren & their friends. It's a warm place, always filled with people, featuring dark and well-used velvet furniture. The food is simple but filling, and the company good.

The Council Tower The Council and Triumvirate operate from a gleaming white marble edifice in the very center of Torguard. It was created by melding elven magic and dwarven stonemasonry, and is the crowning glory of the city. TBH I like it more as a centering point than a space to set a story (mostly because I haven't quite figured out how it operates inside), but I like how it represents the city.

All the odd little joining places Every city needs streets, and so my 5th fave place is all the odd little locations that are just street corners. The square at Herberg's Fork, where all the messengers and their horses crowd; The canalside at the edge of the Shambles, with it's poor but pridefully kept shopfronts; The covered market at Strongmount, which juts into the North canal trunk. It's been fun giving all these little places their names and personalities.

hell yea go for it, any sr textures/texture restorations i've ever personally posted are free game, no credit needed since all i did was rip them and/or spruce them up (rly polite of you to ask tho i appreciate it!) i see them as artistic necessities that should be easily available to everyone who wants to draw these characters because trying to replicate small intricate detail like tattoos by hand is a huge pain in the ass lol

and Thank you Very Much sru comic spends its time face down in a creek somewhere nowadays but it's never forgotten. it's a shambling corpse just biding its time. i may or may not be drawing it right this very moment

the youngster winces at the cool sensation of ice against the fresh bruise, blooming red and blue under his skin.

but what's hurting him even more than the burning bruise on his left cheek, are the eyes of the girl pressing an ice pack to it. your reddening hurt eyes, brimming with tears which are threatening to spill onto your flushed cheeks, a result of crying earlier.

but the reason? nishimura riki, your boyfriend, showing up with bruises and cuts all over for the third time this week at your favourite rendezvous point— behind the small cozy bungalow of the old 'cat lady' in town, who almost never came out.

"you promised riki", your voice shakes, the delicate heart of yours no longer being able to withstand the sight of your lover's wounds and gloomy expression, "then why?"

"ya won't get it princess", riki breathes out the nickname for you so smoothly, utterly believing at the complete vanishing of your subdued anger.

but instead a gasp leaves riki's mouth at the sudden absence of the cool, relaxing and alleviating sensation from the sore bruise. riki's frown deepens and a cute pout forms on his tough face when he lifts his head to look at you.

"i won't get it? i won't get it?!", you scoff at his words and abruptly remove the ice pack from his bruise, "how do you expect me to not get it when the bruises are basically 'cause of me!"

"don't you blame yourself now!", riki's fast to get protective, even if it means to protect you from yourself.

however, you weren't entirely wrong, as everyone who mocked or insulted you for any reason was forced to smile and greet you after riki entered your life-frame. their change, while good, was involuntary on their part. nishimura riki was the main change brought in.

he'd often get his knuckles bruised and crimson, not hesitating to land punches on faces you didn't like. riki was known around the school campus for being reckless as heck, he knew it too, so doubtlessly he didn't mind adding the point, "protecting my girlfriend", to his list of becoming even more reckless.

but he forgets that he's getting punched back, getting wounded up too just to make his girl sweat.

"riki", the way his name slips out of your kissable lips and the way it sounds so dulcet, but it repels your glossy eyes and a frown full of worry.

and riki's heart aches again.

"y'know i hate seeing you like this! y'know i don't like you getting hurt," the ice pack falls on your lap with a sigh leaving your mouth.

"it's only for your good, love. don't like those people near you—"

"they've stopped hurting me riki!", you sigh again, placing your hand ever so softly on his cheek, "you've done enough for me."

"hmmm", riki hums in relaxation and melts into your touch, tilting his head onto your hands, secretly wishing your touch would linger around forever.

"it still kinda burns", riki pouts, pointing towards his bruise on his cheek still crimson and puffy, "kiss it better?"

despite of dating the boy for nearly a year now, he's always catching you off guard, even with his immense love for you. like right now, when he decides to sacrifice his already worn out school trousers to the dusty earth covered by dry birches leaves, without hesitation. riki makes you sit above it though, upon a makeshift chair out of an unfinished wooden rack in the backyard.

it was moments like this when a genuine smile played on your lips, and you know riki's the one.

with a shy smile and coloured cheeks, you lean down to your boyfriend sitting on the ground, to press a feathery kiss to his bruise and heal in some magical way for him.

you pull away quickly worried that if you press your lips any harder, it may hurt him.

"now this one?", riki smirks, pointing to another bruise painting his skin purple. this one dangerously close to his lips, lying on the corners.

"you cheeky!", it's refreshing for riki to see you giggle again, the dry tear-stricken cheeks of yours elevating to laugh.

you lean down, this time cupping his soft face and bringing it closer to you. and just when your plump lips brush against the corner of his, riki moves his face in a way that his lips meet yours. into a sudden, yet endearing kiss.

your eyes widen after the kiss, shocked eyes meeting riki's proud and smug ones.

"promise me", you whisper as your eyes travel around the recent and previous marks and cuts on rikis face, "you'll never fight again."

"can't promise something like that angel," riki scoffs, taking your hands in his, and softly pressing his lips against your knuckles.

"hey riki—!"

"but that's alright, you'll kiss it better every time, yeah?"

Of course! The lot of ya make some really good AUs! Not to mention the designs, writing, art, etc. are always so interesting and well done. The new game really sparked my interest in the series again, but the fan content and AUs are what really pulled me back into the fandom!

I already typed all this out, but Tumblr ate it, so I'm gonna try again. orz

The OC I was reblogging is (for the most part) Frederick Fourth, a character I originally made for a friends HL:VR-AI Circus AU, but he's since developed into more of a multipurpose sort of OC that I can just stick in verses and situations. For BATIM, I made him into a theatre technician/maintenance for the Cort Theatre that's mentioned in the books! He was there already when it was bought out by the Studio, and was just kept around because it was cheaper to keep him than to hire and train someone new.

This post got long, so the rest is below the cut!

Pet Peeves:

- Freddy cannot stand having a cluttered workspace. His apartment is another story, but at work he can't stand having things be disorganized or scattered. Papers, books, wires; Being unable to navigate his workspace is infuriating for him. - Noises like eating/chewing, swallowing, shoes squeaking, etc. drive Freddy up the wall. - Wet clothes. He loves to go over to the Studio to chat with the people there, but if there's any flooding from those damn pipes that are gonna give him wet socks? You couldn't pay him to go in there. - Heights. Less of a pet peeve and more of a fear, but he is terrified of having to climb up onto ladders and catwalks, and every time he does it he questions his career choices.

Pastimes:

- Freddy is really big on art! He wanted to be an artist or an actor as a kid, but as he got older he settled into a career that had a bit more stability. Not to mention, he's seen the Art Department. He knows better than to let Joey find out that he's an artist on the side. - Violin! Freddy is self taught, so he's not... great at it, but it's entertaining enough for him to keep up with it at home. - Photography is another hobby of Freddy's, albeit a little less often. - Just wandering, really. He enjoys going for walks and watching people, listening to birds, watching for flowers between the sidewalk, etc.

Here's some silly talksprites I was working on to try and figure out a style and his BATIM design, but I'll probably opt for just giving him a fullbody ref eventually.

ok. smtvv soundtrack. i’ll be editing this post as i listen through it just to ramble about my thoughts on it, so this post is gonna be a disorganized mess. once i'm done i'll probably make a new post to put things in a more logical order.

i know it’s kinda hard to judge a game’s soundtrack if you’re just listening to it and don’t have the context of what is happening in-game as each song plays but idk. i don’t feel like giving atlus any money until i know the game will be worth it. so i'll just be listening to the music. my thoughts are under the cut

i also have to say, im probably gonna skip a lot of the more ambient tracks that play for cutscenes and stuff cuz if they’re anything like the original game then they don’t have a lot of interesting stuff going on and work best when they’re. yknow. in the background of a cutscene. i won't be commenting much on the quest songs either. my focus is mostly on whatever really stands out to me, mainly character and battle themes.

the soundtrack is organized into 3 discs, so that's how i'll organize this post as well.

disc 1:

the first two songs, hallucination and omen, set a really interesting tone. it still has a really similar feeling to the original game which i am happy to hear. hallucination has those choirs and then goes all in on that electronic sort of beat which i think is a really cool blend with the vocals. i would assume this is the title screen music, but im not sure. omen is a lot more mellow sounding and sounds a lot like the stuff you’d hear from the original game, but something about this gives a slightly different feeling. not sure what it is.

yoko’s theme (i assume?) doesn’t really stand out as anything fantastic to me. idk. maybe it’s just because i don’t have context for who she is as a character, but this song feels a little plain to me. a lot like her design, but that’s not what i’m here to talk about :))

first battle theme. beast of blood. this is already Very different from the battle music in the original game. i like the distorted synth they get going like a minute in. this song feels a lot more electronic than the stuff in the original game, and really cuts back on that noisy style that most of the battle music had. this one isn’t a wall of noise like something like battle da’at has. it definitely gives a different feeling, though i don’t really prefer it. it’s certainly a cool song but it just doesn’t have a lot of energy to it. hopefully the battle songs after this will have some more intensity.

ok damn. i said all that and now the next song is the vengeance version of battle da’at. i’m glad they kept the noisy sound it has, but they definitely cut back some of it. the original song felt like there really was no empty space, which i really love about it. feels like the music has no room to breathe and makes the battle feel more intense. i think the vengeance version still has a similar level of noise, but having the drums be much more clear makes that background noise feel a lot less threatening. love the weird sounding tone on that guitar riff towards the end, and i really love how they leave a small gap for the drums to ring out a bit before the song loops. given some time for this one to grow on me i think i may start to prefer it over the original. i think they did a really great job with this version

the demon haunt music. i don’t think it’s anything too special and i have some Opinions on the demon haunt so uh. wont get into that

ok uuh. fool sru shin sounds like a shop song to me. weird as hell. i like it. i wonder if i’m right about the shop thing cuz i don’t care enough to look into where this song plays

first contact with the quadištu song. this one sounds extremely tense. again i don’t know much about what actually happens in the game but this song helps me make a decent guess at that, which means they did a good job i think.

the quatištu battle music is really interesting. still keeping up the same style as the other battle songs so far. this sounds like it has splatoon vocals in it which is kinda funny. but i really like this song. it’s just weird as hell and feels kinda threatening

young man’s room is a cool song i like that it sounds like a music box almost. i’m curious where it plays in game. it’s not exactly a peaceful song either, it sounds super dissonant and just sounds slightly wrong and uncomfortable, but doesn’t exactly feel directly threatening either

i really like quest miyazu. i am taking this as a good sign that she’s actually gonna get screentime outside of some random line of side quests. i hope. but the song is very nice and reflects her personality (or at least the little scraps of it you can see in the original game) quite well

a random side note: i like that they still took the quest songs as an opportunity to play around with different kinds of instruments and musical styles. it allows some freedom with experimenting without compromising the overall style and tone of the game's music. if that makes sense.

battle speedster. the intro is very old megaten to me, and i love the sort of messy guitar. i think the like. car zooming sound is interesting? that combined with my initial thought about it sounding like older smt songs is making me think about chris the car from smt ii. not sure if that's a good or bad thing. i love the guitar tone they have, it's really unique and sounds super gritty and grimy. and i'm a big fan of the choppy sort of sound they have towards the end, it's another one of those sounds they have been using a lot that sounds almost like vocals but not exactly like them. i don't really know what i'm talking about here, i just have to say i really really like this song. though i wonder if it could end up getting a bit repetitive over time.

sahori and tao. this song already really is interesting. the song immediately starts out with the super dissonant piano. they don't even give you nice sounding notes to start, it throws you right in to this really broken sounding tune. i don't know much about how sahori and tao have been written in vengeance, but i think having this song with two different piano parts playing out of tune with each other and clashing is fitting for their relationship. sahori struggling and feeling broken by the bullying she's endured, but never getting help from tao because she never asks for it and tao doesn't reach out to her either. really interesting song. i love it and it makes me eager to see how tao and sahori interact in the new storyline.

dinner party and ace detective pixie are more examples of songs that make me really curious about where they play in game. they feel like you'd be solving a mystery while they play and i really hope that's the case because i think that would be funny. but dinner party sounds like it would go well with a stealth section. and i like that they went all in with the bass in ace detective pixie. i think these songs would sound even better with context in-game, because they do stand well on their own but feel a little confusing when they are such a huge break from the other music in this soundtrack.

song of kinmamon is really interesting to be because in terms of the sounds they used in this song, it sounds like it should be something tense, but melodically it gets lighter and as they introduce more instruments/sounds that also lightens up the tone of the song as well.

heels and horizons is weird as fuck. again with the splatoon vocals. but i think it's super cool i like the beat and the really bloopy electronic sound it has.

battle gliding is yet another song that has an intro/beginning section that reminds me of old smt music. they're also throwing together a lot of different instruments and sounds into this one which actually works quite well and makes every section of the song sound different while still having some cohesion. i like this one a lot as well.

disc 2:

battle deadlock is interesting because it really doesn’t sound like its battle music. i like the end of it but i don’t know how fun it would be to fight enemies while this song plays. i feel like it’s a bit too tame. but maybe i’d change my opinion if i heard it play in game. idk

humanity and its future has the motif from the original game. i think this is the first time i have properly heard it aside from in battle da’at, but that had been changed slightly. i like that they have some kind of ambient sounds behind the piano. and again it’s a somewhat similar thing to sahori and tao where it’s a little bit dissonant with the lower piano line sometimes playing “wrong” notes.

i’m gonna lump all the songs for the new area of da’at into this paragraph. shinjuku gyoen is really cool starting out quiet with the kind of shrill sounding melody. i love the drums kicking in like a third of the way in. this is a really cool song and i think it will be even cooler playing in the background of exploring. jingu naien has a really different sound starting out, with that sort of out-of-tune bell sound. this is another one of those songs where im getting an image of what kind of area it would play in. but i won’t say what that image is in case im wrong.

quest poison gas man is super cool is has that really loud drum beat and there’s really no melody it has that loud front sound that reminds me of battle dancing crazy murder :))

battle alkalic rush is. so fucking cool. i don’t even know where to start with describing it. this shit’s groovy. half of the sounds in this song sound wet. some of them sound like a fart. and it’s awesome. i was thinking this song would be the dancing crazy murder of smtvv but i don’t think that would be an accurate comparison to make.
