Special?
As far as Noa had always been concerned, she wasn't any more special than any other Jedi around her. She trained with the rest of them, she went through the trials, and she became a knight. Now she was learning how to be a soldier, which was something she never thought would be possible in her position, but... times were different now.
"What makes you say that, hm?" she asked the young boy, gently. She was more so just genuinely curious about what made him think so highly of her.
Bigger strength he has was that ability to sensing impressions around other souls … Actually, he could do further than that if he was daring to dig further, nevertheless, inside such landscape, and he wasn’t supposed to use other abilities. One of his most emotional troubling issues had been an higher presence in the Force, an paradox one, in which himself wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do doing with the information --- it looked like an foreshadowing and a foreknowledge, and yet, something that might happens and something that might not happens, when the Fates weren’t herself clear concerning finality of this timeline … Finding themselves beyond normality could sometimes coming from an smaller origin … ❝ It’s your strong connection with the Force --- ❞ He answered slowly towards her question. ❝ I can feel it’s huge around you … and further intensive around your brother --- ❞ Hesitant sentences was brought towards her. She was closer of the concerned. She would be first person that will realizing when something will look off … ❝ Nothing strange happened around Anakin ? It’s an weird question, I’m aware of it, but really, I’m asking it for help if I can … ❞

my position re: Rings of Power
I am planning to watch it.
I am hoping to enjoy it.
Sources I trust have said cautiously optimistic things about what they’ve seen so far; furthermore, I try not to judge before experiencing a thing.
Things I hope people keep in mind when watching:
1. A part is not the whole. The teasers and trailers and promotional images can only present a part of the whole.
2. Some changes are necessary when adapting. I’ve seen several posts calling the show out for condensing the Second Age timeline. Well, the movies compress Frodo’s time in Rivendell to about a week, compared to two months in the books. And the Council of Elrond took almost a full day in the book, versus less than an hour in film.  Film and literature are different genres and require different tools.
3. ‘Diversity’ and ‘representation’ mean different things to different people. Tolkien is not a 2022 author; his work should not be judged on how many LGBTQ or non-white characters he has. At the same time, I am willing to accept racebends if they are well-integrated into the story.
4.  There will be original characters and changes to existing characters. The existing material on the Second Age is nowhere near as expansive as LOTR or even the Hobbit. The important question is whether it stays true to the spirit of Tolkien.
5. And finally, I will try to tag my relevant posts. Don’t like, don’t read.

Impossible LotR Quiz Answer sheet with explanations!
As an addendum, since people have been doing the quiz I’ve seen a few mistypes and awkwardnesses that are my own fault so I’ve corrected them. This means some people got a higher score than was shown, know that when I looked over your answers I saw your actually right answers and fully appreciated them! It’s good to not that the ‘fill in the blanks’ questions will not take two words in one space, so I’ve had to get creative with how I apply two named folk like Mardil Voronwe, or people who have numbers like Hurin I.
I would also like to say, to everyone talking about how they’ve never read the Silmarillion, this quiz is very purposefully almost entirely based outside of the Silmarillion. This is Appendices stuff! Indeed there is only 1 question even tangentally related to elves in here, this is by design.
@magaramach, @brynnmclean and @apojiiislands asked to be tagged in this! Answers under the cut.
Q2. Who was Dora Baggins in relation to Bilbo Baggins? - Second cousin on his father's side Dora Baggins is a very elderly woman who was the daughter of Bilbo’s father’s brother. She likes writing people a lot of unsolicited advice! THIS WAS WRONG AND SAID FIRST COUSIN FOR SO LONG AND I AM DEEPLY SORRY FOR IT.
Q3. How many pairs of biological twins are mentioned in the whole of Arda's timeline and what races do they belong too? - 2 for men, 1 for elves and 3 for half-elves Fastred and Folcred, Haleth and Haldar (men) Amrod and Amras (elves) Elured and Elurin, Elrond and Elros, Elladan and Elrohir (half-elves) Now, admittedly Elladan and Elrohir are never actually described as twins. However they appear completely identical and have the same birth date, so it is assumed.
Q4. Baldor is who the skeleton scratching at the door used to be. When Aragorn and co pass through the paths of the dead they find a skeleton clawing at a door to the mountain. It is finely dressed and described as mighty and was later essentially confirmed to be Baldor, the eldest son of King Brego of Rohan, also called Baldor the hapless, who foolishly wandered into the paths of the dead on, apparently, a dare. (the answer to this was originally Brego because of a foolish typo from me, many apologies!)
Q5. When was the Ondonóre Nómesseron Minaþurie written? - During Meneldil's reign. “Enquiry into the Place-names of Gondor” was a text written by settled numenoreans about their new kingdom during Meneldil’s reign, who was the first sole King of Gondor after both Anarion (his father) and Isildur had perished.
Q6. Farmer Maggot's particular friend was Tom Bombadil  It is stated that Farmer Maggot sometimes peacefully passes through the Old Forest to go and meet Tom Bombadil, who very much enjoys his company. However! Those who answered Merry or Pippin still deserve excellent recognition, Farmer Maggot was indeed fond of Pippin and respected Merry greatly.
Q7. What was the office of the Steward originally created to do? - Keep the Tradition of Isildur When Romendacil I went to war in the east, he realised that if he died then the secret of the Tradition of Isildur would die with him. Hence he wrote it down in a sealed scoll and gave it to a trusted confidante, to be given to his heir if he should perish. This tradition was maintained by further kings and those trusted confidantes became the Stewards of Gondor. This, admittedly, is a more suggested progression than explicit, but it’s a Impossible evil quiz so :) Q8. What was the 'Tradition of Isildur'? - Remember where Elendil was buried. Elendil had been secretly entombed in Calenardhon, supposedly the midpoint between Gondor and Arnor. This was a hallowed space for only Kings at first, but in later years when the Stewards came to rule Gondor they also were permitted the secret. Cirion had the remains moved when Calenardhon was gifted to the Eotheod to eventually become a part of the Kingdom of Rohan.
Q9. At the time of Pelargir's founding, is the world flat or round? - Flat. Pelargir was founded as a ‘Faithful Numenorean’ haven on the river Anduin. Therefore it was built before Numenor’s destruction in the Akallabeth, the reason for which being that Eru turned the world from flat to round.
Q10. Which of these monarchs were indolent and had no interest in ruling? - King Atanatar I - King Narmacil I - Tar-Vanimelde King Atanatar I ruled during Gondor’s richest generation and seemed to believe that meant he didn’t need to put any work in. Narmacil I, his son, didn’t want to put any work in, but he at least assigned his nephew, Minalcar, as ‘Karma-Kundo’ or regent during his reign. So he at least did something to keep the country going. Tar-Vanimelde had no interest in ruling and allowed her husband to do most of the governence. This backfired when she died and he organised a coup against his son to hold power.
Q11. When looking back on the Ship-Kings of Gondor, King Tarannon Falastur began the invasion of Harad and expanded Gondor's borders, King Earnil-I finally took Umbar but died at sea shortly afterwards, King Ciryandil spent most of his reign trying to defend Umbar and died in it's seige and King Hyarmendacil defended Umbar against seiges for 35 years before making war upon all Harad and claiming Harondor as a province of Gondor, ending the line of the Ship Kings.
Q12. What happened during the reign of King Romendacil II? - I don't know! Nothing? Yes I know this is particularly evil of me but Romendacil II was originally called Minalcar, yes the same Minalcar who became REGENT of Gondor due to Narmacil’s indolent nature. Minalcar indeed did everything else listed as answers to this question, but none of them happened during his reign as king. Indeed, his reign was said to be peaceful and we have no real information on it, so technically saying we don’t know, and suggesting nothing happened, is actually the most correct answer :)
Q13. Who succeeded Tar-Telperien of Numenor? - Her nephew, Minastir Tar-Telperien was a lesbian Queen of Numenor who never married and never wanted too and did an excellent job and I love her. Her nephew built a tower to mope in about how much he wanted to be an elf. They are not the same. Absolutely terrified about what Amazon could do to her.
Q14. Whilst his brethren, the nazgul, were attacking the Prancing Pony, The Witch-King was waiting in the Barrow Downs and probably had a really nice time. Not much to this! Witch King was chilling with the Barrow Wights.
Q15. Which of these characters are described as 'beautiful' at least once in the Lord of the Rings? - Galadriel, Denethor, Eowyn, Frodo, Elanor, Celeborn, Boromir Yes, Arwen is never described as beautiful, but Denethor is :)
Q16. We all love Boromir II, select the similarities he and Boromir I did NOT share. - Renowned relationship with the Rohirrim. - Destroyed the Bridge of Osgiliath - Feared by the Witch King - Retook Ithilien. - Had a brother. In case you’re wondering, yes, I love both Boromirs. But this question is a fun highlight of how many similarities Boromir II has with his namesake. These are the only things they didn’t both do. Although! Boromir I’s son was Cirion who allied with the Eotheod and created Rohan in the first place, the Uruk-Hai destroyed the Bridge of Osgiliath in Boromir I’s lifetime, Boromir II was PROBABLY feared by the witch-king we just don’t know, Boromir II held Ithilien and Boromir I had two elder sisters like Denethor II did.
Q17. Hey, did you know that, from Boromir I's war with the Uruk-Hai of the Morgul Vale, Gondor didn't know peace until Sauron's death on the 25th of March, 3019? Hah hah! How gut wrenching is that? About how long do you think it has been since Gondor knew peace then? Hey wait does that mean Boromir I's valiant victory that came at a personal sacrifice was the beginning of Gondor's wars and then Boromir II's valiant sacrifice was the end- oh god... oh fuck - 550 years To everyone who answered the crossed out answer,,, you’re correct in my heart. You get bonus points. Also hey! What the fuck :)
Q18. Who was Borondir? - The rider sent to find Eorl who made it to him after starving himself for two days but who then rode to the Celebrant with Eorl anyway and died in that battle. Literally couldn’t love this fellow more. Big Hirgon energy. A hero of Gondor for time immemorial.
Q19. The Ruling Stewards, from first to last (with their numbers typed as so Turin-I Hurin-II etc), were as follows; Mardil ; Eradan ; Herion ; Belegorn ; Hurin-I ; Turin-I ; Hador ; Barahir ; Dior ; Denethor-I ; Boromir-I ; Cirion ; Hallas ; Hurin-II ; Belecthor-I ; Orodreth ; Ecthelion-I ; Egalmoth ; Beren ; Beregond ; Belecthor-II ; Thorondir ; Turin-II ; Turgon ; Ecthelion-II ; Denethor-II ; and for like two seconds ; Faramir ; Alrighty, we had a bit of a fight in my discord about this but eventually I did relent in agreement that Faramir IS... very briefly... legally considered a RULING Steward. Ruling Stewards being Stewards that ruled a Kingless Gondor. But! With Aragorn RIGHT THERE is just seemed very redundant. Still! I’ll allow the pedant to win out, ten minutes is still a Ruling Steward. ALSO! I decided that having an extra box for the ‘voronwe’ part of mardil voronwe was just mean as it set everyone’s answers off kilter, so I removed that. ALSO for all of those calling me a bastard for adding this question, @illegalstargender was the one who requested it! I wasn’t going too!
Q20. The Stewards, despite ruling through very tumultuous and violent periods, were often known for boring things (because they simply ruled better than the Kings did, I said what I said) But what boring thing was Steward Turin I remembered for? - Being the only monarch of Gondor that married twice This skeezy bastard really did marry a second time during his OLD age just to father a son. I can only imagine what a dreadful cultural and social effect this had on this prude country. It’s so unnecessary! He had daughters, many of them! One of them certainly had a son before he did. He was just being a controlling arse, down with Turin I!!!!

A Summary
My mental stability has rested upon maladaptive daydreaming since I was little (ironic considering it’s a disorder of its own). I was three and watching Little Einsteins for the sixth consecutive hour, wailing because my mom wouldn’t let me rewind the same thirty seconds of an episode after twenty minutes of that. I was four and rocking back and forth in my bed in the middle of the night, crying because I daydreamed one of my characters getting hurt. I was five and learning how to write and my first journal was filled up with scrawls of the names of Bakugan characters, I was six and drawing myself for the fiftieth time in the style of the show, I was seven and crying again because for the first time I was old enough to understand that my daydreams were fading but not old enough to understand what that meant until my characters were gone and I was all alone. There was a new world waiting but I was terrified to leave my family, the only friends I could stand to be around all the time, and I tortured myself trying to understand why they would abandon me, until I decided it was my fault and I’d abandoned them. My old diaries are filled with scribbles of of story pieces. I used to cry on the bus to school when a song came on that reminded me of old daydreams. When other mental issues worsened and worsened, I buried myself in daydreams. With bipolar disorder, I never know when I’m going to go downhill, so every day becomes a possible threat to the loss of my current focus. I spend 6-12 hours a day laying in bed daydreaming so vividly that I don’t remember my own existence.
A list of my major daydream universes, in order of appearance:
Little Einsteins
Teen Titans
Bakugan
Harry Potter
Warrior Cats
Star Wars
The Hobbit
Steven Universe
In between, there were some small ones, like Mario, Hannibal, Cuphead, Undertale, etc. But the major ones still stand.
My daydreams are constantly focused on a certain “trope”, I guess you could call it, and usually one or two characters. For the first part my life, until I was maybe 12, it was the canon characters reacting to my awful self-insert character, and I would focus on one main male character, usually the morally gray character, because it allowed me more interactivity in how the character would react to me. Now, it’s separate timelines or even alternate universes interacting, and my special interest characters were either a couple or family members, sometimes both. This started with the Hobbit, when a BOTFA timeline of the characters would interact with AUJ versions of the characters. Then, an AUJ timeline interacting with a fanfiction I was into. Then it was a BOTFA timeline interacting with an AUJ timeline and a fanfiction story. You can see how it would get complex but I always knew exactly what version of what character would do or say a certain thing. My characters that I was specifically obsessed with were Thorin and Bilbo, sometimes with Frodo there for more interesting storylines. The transition to Steven Universe was rough but I managed it. This time, the future timeline was constantly being updated, so after a while I bailed out on trying to change my daydreams every new episode. I focused on a canon timeline interacting with a fanfiction story, usually either @iamconstantine’s Opal AU or @jcstitches’s western AU (tagging them because they are both AMAZING authors who’ve changed my life for the better and they deserve the credit for creating worlds so detailed that I could absorb myself into them). So much content that I spent a good year and a half focused just on that. Then I started mixing up four or five conflicting fanfiction stories. The problem is, I’ve gone over Ruby and Sapphire and Garnet so many times that I’ve used up all the dialogue, story ideas, and everything that I could ever think of. The show isn’t going enough for me anymore, even though the western AU and Opal AU are still spectacular and producing content regularly. I’m fucking ecstatic that Teen Titans is coming back because I’m such a wreck right now with SU not doing a damn thing for me. I fucking adore Dick Grayson but I have no access to the comics so I really need this show to come back.

Time Traveling Swing Dancers/Teachers/Assassins
Tumblr media
Welp, I did it y’all. I made it full circle to the book that started it all, 11/22/63. I read this brick of a book back in 2016, which lead me to The Stand, which led me to a journey towards 73 novels. Bless your heart, 11/22/63.
I just love this book. My first read through back in the day took me only a couple days; my second trip back in time took me almost a week, still a feat for the 800+ pages of book. Let’s go.
Another tale, like Under The Dome, that ruminated in King’s mind since the 70’s but came to fruition in the 21st century. Although the idea kicked around in King’s head for decades, he was daunted by the research that would be required to tell the story properly, so I think he waited until he was swimming in that sweet sweet money to hire a research team. Per usual, I am speculating.
But King did have a research assistant on this book, that much is true. He also consulted with the likes of Doris Kearns Goodwin, a treasure of American history, who gave King some real fun ideas about what might have happened if JFK had lived. The research was obviously thorough, and like it or not, you sure learn a lot about real-life Lee Harvey Oswald in this work of fiction. You’ll also squiggle in your seat through reminders of racism and hate that lived out loud in the 60s, different but also the same as we see today. History doesn’t change everything.
King has said that the extensive research and reading he did to prepare to write this story confirmed in his mind that Oswald acted alone. While it’s fun to imagine conspiracy theories of magic bullets and a second shooter, if King believes, I’m inclined to believe. If QAnon has taught us anything, it’s that Americans love a conspiracy theory. If Jack Ruby hadn’t shot Oswald in that parking garage, we may have learned what actually happened on November 22, 1963. If Oswald had gone to trial and had been placed under oath. If his last words weren’t about how he was a patsy. If, if if. Maybe Jake should have stopped worrying about stopping Oswald and stopped Ruby instead.
So, yeah, Jake Epping. Our hero of this tale. He’s a writer that teaches and lives in Maine. I mean, if I had a dollar for every time I started a book summary with that sentence, I’d have like $10 bucks and I probably go buy myself a fancy coffee of something.
Jake’s a teacher and loves hamburgers! Who doesn’t. He get’s them cheap at his favorite diner, from the proprietor named Al Templeton, who harbors a pretty rad secret that he’s gunna toss onto Jake. Now, why Jake? I mean, I don’t really know. Al doesn’t have any family and Jake is young and unattached? I suppose at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, because Jake, like Frodo Baggins before him, is off on an adventure.
Because Al’s diner is actually a portal back in time. We all suspend some disbelief - it’s some version of a thinny (maybe?) that plops you from present day back to 1958. The rules are this: however long you spend in the past, you can return to the future just 2 minutes after you left. Al says there’s no impact on quick trips - Al’s been going back and forth for years buy ground beef for his cheap burgers - but when you do something that might change the future, the past will push back. We learn that Al is very, very wrong, but more on that later.
Al’s set out to save John Fitzgerald Kennedy from his head exploding, but the past gave him lung cancer and he didn’t make it to ’63. He’s back in the present and ready to tag Jake into the ring to get back to the fight for him. Jake hesitates but not NEARLY enough. Seriously, if some stranger told you had to go back in time, follow around a total assmunch for 5 years and live WITHOUT CELL PHONES OR NETFLIX?? I don’t care how delicious the root beer in 1958 is. Fuck that.
Jake goes. A couple times actually. He’s first interested in saving Harry, the high school janitor’s family from being murdered, which is a real noble cause. The past gives him diarrhea, and he wears a diaper to take out the bad man. He fails the first time (diarrhea), heads back home to “reset”, and back to 1958, succeeding the second time around. Sayonara douche.
We cross paths with Beverly and Beep Beep Ritchie in Derry, where Jake spends a fair amount of time in 1960. The town is dark, creepy and troubled, and Jake hates being there. Little interconnected web of the King-o-Verse is always there, and I love every second of it.
Jake heads to Dallas to wait on Oswald, realizes he hates it (lol, fuck Dallas-Fort Worth), and moves out to the country instead. He gets a nice little job and meets a librarian, and our heroine, Sadie. Sadie’s got some real baggage in the form of a psychotic ex-husband (men are mostly the worst in this book) but her and Jakie fall in love anyways. She’s a well written, strong female lead and I haven’t loved a female King character this much since Lisey.
General consensus is that the mid-section of this book is that it drags a little bit, but I couldn’t disagree more. Sure, does Jake putting on a big theater production have literally anything to do with Lee Harvey Oswald? Nope. But I loved all Jake’s time in Jodie, Texas. He falls in love with Sadie, they are lovely and happy, and albeit doomed because of time travel, it’s a wonderful distraction from all the heaviness.
That said, PLEASE Stephen King, DON’T WRITE SEX SCENES LIKE THIS. ::Monkey with hands over eyes emoji:: The sex stuff is awful. There’s a lot of broad references to Jake and Sadie’s love life, like “She looked. Then she touched.” Gross.
Exhibit B:
She said, "Don't make me wait, I've had enough of that," and so I kissed the sweaty hollow of her temple and moved my hips forward ... She gasped, retreated a little, then raised her hips to meet me. "Sadie? All right?"
"Ohmygodyes," she said and I laughed. She opened her eyes and looked up at me with curiosity and hopefulness. "Is it over, or is there more?"
"A little more," I said. "I don't know how much. I haven't been with a woman in a long time."
It turned out there was quite a bit more … At the end she began to gasp. "Oh dear, oh my dear, oh my dear dear God, oh sugar!"
Guys, this passage was from Sadie’s FIRST TIME. She comes? And Jake notices there is blood on the sheets afterwards. But she orgasmed. Yeah ok, sure.
Other than poorly written Harlequin romance passages, the rest of the story clips along with lots of fun (and not so fun) bits, leading the the culmination of Jake (spoilers) killing Oswald. Sadie dies in the process and it is heart wrenching. But at least the world got saved?
WRONG. Another gripe is this; Jake goes back to 2007 and it’s a fucking post apocalyptic wasteland. Nuclear war has ruined the globe - Jake somehow crosses paths with Harry the janitor, who gives him a 5 minute synopsis of how everything went to hell. It is TOO SHORT. Why do we spend so little time here? I want more dystopian future.
We also get a brief bit about how each trip back isn’t a real “reset” - each one triggers a new “string” or parallel universe. Al’s diner isn’t the only passage, and anyone that has read the Dark Tower books gets it. Al was dumb and Jake was dumb, and at the end of the day Jake resets the past and saves this new string from nuclear fallout but you know those poor souls that were on that timeline are still fucked?
Anywho, the end is lovely and King changed what he originally planned (which was lame) at his son’s suggestion. Good job Joe Hill. Maybe I’ll read some of his books someday.
So that’s 11/22/63. This is the latest in King’s bibliography that I have already read, so I’m headed into the last 20 or so novels without any spoilers at all. I still haven’t even let myself watch The Outsider on HBO yet.
Speaking of adaptations, Lisey’s Story on Apple+ starts airing on Friday. Will be watching and hope that it is better than The Stand.
9/10
First Line: I had never been what you would call a crying man.
Last Line: Then the music takes us, the music rolls away the years, and we dance.
Adaptations:
A Hulu miniseries! They did 2 seasons of Castle Rock, so they’re a-ok in my book. Anything not produced by ABC is a-ok with me. I watched it when it aired and it was pretty decent IIRC. I’ve started rewatching, but only made it through the first episode so far. It’s a hard rewatch knowing what a creep James Franco is. And his fake goatee in the first 30 minutes is the actual worst.
The show takes its own liberties with the plot which is fine; Jake gets a partner in crime named Bill; without Bill we’d have a lot of internal Franco monologue I’d guess. The show is well cast and well acted, and has an 8.2 on IMDB, so it’s doing a lot better than most King projects.

I love Kamii University
Whenever you’re making a nerdy/continuous franchise, whether that be One Piece or Lord of the Rings or whatever, a developed world is vital for immersion. If the world is not exactly like our own, we want to know how it works, what’s going on in it outside of the main character’s tale, and little things like that. One Piece has chapter covers that show what’s going on in the One Piece world outside of Luffy’s life, and occassionally that thing will intersect with Luffy’s life later without Luffy realizing it. Lord of the Rings is riddled with documents, maps and pages and pages of explanation as to how Middle Earth functions. And it’s not just doing this that’s important; it has to integrate with continuity. If Frodo has to walk North to Modor, you can’t make a map where Modor is South of the Shire. If Ace loses to Blackbeard in a fight, you can’t see Ace and Blackbeard later unharmed. Kamii University is this developed thing that integrates into Tokyo Ghoul.
When we first see Kaneki, we know he’s 18/19 and in college. We don’t really know his major though, but that doesn’t matter because he gets sucked into the world of ghouls before his major is even important. But I can guarantee Kaneki was going to be a doctor or a nurse or a neurosurgeon or something along those lines, because KU was developed that well.
Our first dramatic clue is when Kaneki fights Ayato. He promises to half kill Ayato. He claims destroying half of his organs would not work because certain organs have different values to living. Cutting him in half doesn’t work either because certain segments of his body have different values to his being alive. But he concludes that most people can live if any one bone is broken, even a broken skull. But, no one can live if every bone is broken. So he breaks half of his bones. Now, this wouldn’t prove that Kaneki was going to be a doctor. That was common sense. The major clue is that for every bone he breaks, he gives the name of it to Ayato and occasionally what that bone does or where it is located. Knowing the names and locations of at least 103 bones is not common knowledge. I don’t know what Japanese high schools are like, but I took Advanced Science in high school and never had to memorize more than 50 bones the entire time. However, my older sister has been working in college to become a surgeon and she has had to memorize all 206 bones of the skeleton. There’s also a scene in which Sachi breaks Kaneki’s bones straight out of his arm and Kaneki pops them back in. I don’t know if that requires medical knowledge though; I don’t even know if it was possible.
Our second clue lies in the light Novel, Tokyo Ghoul: Past. In chapter 5, the new couple Kimi and Nishiki are texting about their classes. Kimi says her major is in Medicine. Nishiki says his major is in pharma studies. Now with universities, or at least certain campuses of a university if that university has a wide curriculum, groups similar curriculums in the same place. If the building has a Java or coding class, you can expect to find a lot of computer-based majors in that place. If there’s a physics major, expect a lot of labs and lab-related classes at that place. You get the picture. So if Kimi and Nishiki both have medical majors, medical and presumably surgical classes is the curriculum Kamii University must be known for. We also saw in that same Light Novel that Kaneki had an interest in KU while he was still in high school, and Hide went there with him almost entirely just to tag along (he was more interested in learning English at that moment than what kind of job he wanted). We know Kamii isn’t the only college in Tokyo Ghoul’s Tokyo; there’s also Teihou University and Seinan Gakuin University. He must’ve been interested in KU because there was a major there that he wanted, perhaps surgery or doctoring.
The last clue is in the post-Third Cochlea Raid arc of Tokyo Ghoul:re. Akira Mado is impaled and critically injured while also having a lot of RC cells from the kagune coursing through her veins. She can’t go to a hospital because she broke the Ghoul Countermeasures Law against helping a ghoul and will be immediately arrested if found at a hospital. Nico suggests that Kaneki should grab some RC Cell suppressants from CCG headquarters and to also seek help from the Great Wheel Act. The Great Wheel Act is a medical team willing to help and support ghouls despite being humans. They learned their medicinal skills from college, and about the ghoul body from books and ghouls themselves. What college did they get their medical knowledge from, you ask? Well of course, they were students of Kamii University.
So, even though Kaneki never explicitly states that, “I went to Kamii University to learn about medicine and become some sort of doctor,” we know it because it is highly suggested throughout the series that that’s what Kamii University is most known for, and Kaneki would’ve chosen that college for no other reason. Not only is this a neat fact, but it is vital to Tokyo Ghoul. If Kamii University was not about medicine, Kaneki wouldn’t have known the best way to half-kill Ayato (or at least, not a dank-ass way where you teach Ayato a lesson while also literally giving him a lesson). And Akira Mado also would’ve likely died; if a university focused on medicine wasn’t as close to the :re cafe as Kamii University (unlike Kamii University, it is not confirmed which Ward :re is located in. However, considering it was made in memory of Anteiku, I’m assuming it’s in the 20th Ward, which is the same ward Kamii University is located in. Any other University is at least one ward away from :re), then the Great Wheel Act would be too far away to interect with the Goat conveniently, and Akira would not get the required medical attention in time.
And it’s not really Kamii University that is the thing that makes the world of Tokyo Ghoul feel developed, this is just one of many that I enjoy. I could’ve made this about the kakuhou or how the timeline fits well or ghouls rank between each other or how the location of each ward makes sense in continuity or how each ward has a particular characteristic or how Germany is somehow significant to Dr. Kanou and the Tokyo Ghoul plot. But today I felt like Kamii University was the best one to talk about. Because in most anime and manga, school is just school. What High School Issei went to didn’t determine whether or not he made a good demon. Whether or not Midoriya took advanced science or regular science didn’t affect how well Midoriya knows how to handle All Might’s powers. The only time the school mattered that I can think of is in K On!, and the only significant thing was that it was based on a real school to add a weird sense of realism and setting. If Tokyo Ghoul was not written by Sui Ishida, do you think the author would’ve made a scene like the fight between Kaneki and Ayato and think to himself, “hm, what thing about the college Kaneki went to can improve upon this scene?”

The affection seemed to soothe Noa as she took her first steady breath in a minute. It was one of those days that was especially difficult for her, and she was feeling overwhelming anxiety from a source she couldn’t explain. It was simply a persistent feeling that probably didn’t even have a source.
“Anakin… I don’t feel good…” she mumbled to him quietly, allowing him to kiss her forehead.
He always had understood she needed time for herself sometimes. Or even had really emotionally harsh days --- in which, considering his mental health was pretty much fragile, and preferred be certain degree of how serious it was had to remaining hidden, he switched his priorities … towards her. As he would always picking this option regardless if he couldn't mentally handling himself together, when his anxious, close of depressive instants were sometimes horribly damaging in which le let only Padme perceiving degree of damages. Hence, as he remained wordlessly at her side, he letting her time to breathe away, lowering down the pressure. Concerning reassuring her, he could do the best he could. He wouldn't considering himself be easy to be reassured with : not when he would doing his best efforts NOT to comment he wasn't perceiving same things than people around him … and well, he would need strenght and efforts for his voice pointing out things to be accepted ! He would have hoped sweetness gesture of affection would have calmed down her mind. Immediately, of course, he saw with his two eyes it wasn't the case. ❝ Dizziness? Headache? Where does it hurt? ❞ Did it was purely mental in which he could attempting something ? Did it was purely physical in which her body decided enough efforts had been made today ? Patiently, he searched tiny signs that can giving him clues about what do do --- because as much everyone pulled all faith within him, he could say he was learning slowly … and partially fullfill part of expectations desired for him.

Anakin could read her like a book.
Noa knew this, though she would always try too hard to seem tough in front of him. They had trained together, watched each other grow, and he had always been very protective of her through it all. She would’ve been lying if she said she didn’t appreciate it from him - he was her brother, after all.
Everything that could’ve gone wrong on this mission was going wrong so far. It was beginning to affect Noa, but even so…
“I’m fine.”
He would considering myself having an higher protective issue : something that somewhere already Master Obi-Wan could blaming him often for it, since between an order and an protection of someone he cared for he would dismissing without hesitation the authority, would defending this cause to the very end. An consequence Padme received in boomerang - - - wishing simply desire of an permanent happiness bewteen each other meanwhile he was wrapped around with responsibilities! If in one manner or another he could removing, turn lighter weight of the war within her shoulders he would whatever if the burden of the world will destroy him! From her reaction he expressed an understanding sad smile. He was saying to everyone that kind of lie. Himself often repeating himself he could just be fine for not listen darkness within his heart. ❝ I know it's isn't easy. ❞ Gentle tone mused at her. ❝ With everything not going as planned and how complicated this mission turn out, If it's too heavy for you please tell me. ❞
He can bear responsabily for two.

@skywalker-sister // send me   “ you’re here…?”   for your muse to wake up in a hospital bed and find my muse holding their hand.
It could have been recurring instance actually, it should be recurring emotional deterioration he should have feel more often considering his background --- that short infinite minute in which everything around him, in which even the outside world in which he was searching happiness, safety and acceptance, turned out to becoming an endless nightmare … where he could sense all around the Force that slightly discrete feeling something was terribly wrong … when he could sense all around his entire being there was something higher, something that cannot be explained, something who exceeded his understanding within him … these rare moments of complete anguish, these rare instants of entire anxiety, these rare sensations of feeling his entire universe failing apart, he had been searching to taming them correctly --- responding with anger as an measure of disagreement, showing disagreement over circumstances, doing something, as yeah, there was something he horribly disliked over the simple perception of Death inside people of loved, or even to sensing Destiny around him … Honestly, he simply considering him only over thinking impressions he had. Nothing was going to happens to this universe. He wasn’t fighting in vain --- He will not lose people, not today …
At the current moment, hopefully distracted by how he was handling her hand and could sensing the warmth around him, it forced him not to emotionally reacting over that thought. Why? Why he was scared someday everything might be gone? Why he sensed the embrace of Death so much around him when he wanted it far away? Where was coming impression he experienced foreshadowing without his knowledge … sensing too much inside the Force. She was fine. Well --- it won’t have remarks he would have received if he would have exploded one bolt down there … He protecting her of the battlefield, in which he could remember the ending, how circumstances had been. Ah, he overheard something about how his stare had been such volcanic and sensation of earth trembling, but well … his mind had decided to disconnect. She was alright. Apparently, he fixed the issue. Apparently, he scared people. Great. Now he would love focusing over how his little sister was fine and everything had been a short nightmare …
He couldn’t handle whispers of Death around him …
❝ Hey tiny … ❞ He welcomed as suddenly, he even pretending be the soldier he always forced himself to became. Right in the moment, he was just a big brother who wanted his little sister to be fine --- and he could feel across the Force how someday it will be so important somewhere, as there were signals all around that simple room over what could happening in the future, and yet, inside current present, each moment of this conversation will be valuable. Discomposure inside his expression betrayed emotions he had been searched to swallowed back. Marks of red eyes proved his strong appearance had fallen apart, and anxiety he was going though hadn’t calmed down … and there was heaviness despair within his eyes. Something who eating him alive, and yet, somewhere, a fatality he was facing. He couldn’t handle Death anymore … and yet sensed he would become Death someday … Ah, mysteries ways of the Force, what a pleasure! If only people who dreamed about how magnificent it would be to have such powers knew the actual pressure it was to experiencing it …  He wanted prove his visions wrong. He wanted prove the outside world wrong. ❝ You’ve had been hurt …❞ He loses his ways, he could have admitted, but no, he wasn’t able to confessing right away. He didn’t even remember exactly how he did losing himself. All he understood was he brought fear along the way … ❝ I reacted fasted I could … ❞
