mine. [suna rintarou x f!reader]
>>You catch Miya Atsumu's attention, and Suna struggles to deal with that.
or
Everyone always makes assumptions about your relationship with Suna Rintarou, and he has no problem proving them right.<<

------------------
âWhat are you doing here?â Suna stands over the wheely chair at the receptionistâs desk, glaring down at the top of Miya Atsumuâs head. The twin only turns to look up at him, smiling brightly.
âI got bored.â
âGo be bored somewhere else.â
âAw, come on, Suna-â Suna grabs the back of chair and drags it to the side, effectively shoving Atsumu out of his way so he can look through his appointments on the computer. Heâs got a regular coming in at 3, so â he glances at the clock hanging over the window in the waiting area â heâs free for the next couple hours.
â-out here today. Just today?â
âYouâre still talking?â Suna pokes around in the calendar, seeing that heâs fully booked for the weekend. Thank God his secretary had asked for today off and not tomorrow.
âYour secretaryâs not even here today! I can play the part!â âIf I needed someone to play the part, I wouldnât have given her the day off.â He mumbles it under his breath, feeling Atsumuâs gaze burning into the side of his head. He knows the man wonât leave. Never once in the time theyâve known each other has he listened to anyone but himself.
He turns and leans against the desk, sighing as he crosses his arms over his chest.Â
âIn case you hadnât noticed-â He waves a hand out toward the empty shop. â-thereâs no one here. My entire staff is at the beach, which means that if I didnât need them -â He tries to reach for Atsumu so he can push the man out of that stupid chair heâs currently spinning circles in. The blond just wheels out of reach. â-then I donât need you-Can you just go ?!âÂ
The bell above the door jingles, interrupting Rintarouâs temptation to swing a fist into his friendâs face. He turns to find a young man nervously perusing the art on the walls. He stands to full height and combs a hand through his hair, remembering that heâs still a business owner.
âHey, howâs it-â
âWelcome in, welcome in!â Sunaâs shoved out of the way by a pair of excited hands, Atsumu decidedly his obnoxious secretary for the day. âThis your first time?â
The man jumps, turning and offering an anxious smile. âY-Yeah. I was wondering if you take walk-insâŚ?â
Suna nods, reaching into the desk for an intake packet. âFor sure. Iâm free until 3, if you donât mind just filling out this-â He sighs in annoyance, because Atsumuâs ripping the papers from his hand and presenting them to the man with a flourish.
âIf you could just fill out this quick form, kind sir-âÂ
The man takes the packet, a bit startled, and moves toward the waiting area for a seat. He pauses briefly, peering at Atsumuâs face.
âHey, arenât you that famous volleyball playerâŚ?â
Atsumu beams at the man, but Sunaâs pressing an irritated hand to his shoulder and gripping tight. The twin barely winces.
âYes, he is . Which is why heâs leaving . Because he already has a job .â Every emphasis comes with a harsh squeeze of Sunaâs fingers into Atsumuâs shoulder bones.
âHow could I leave you without a receptionist, Suna? In your time of need? Never!â Atsumu brushes him off and takes a seat, plopping down into the chair with a satisfied smile. Suna just stares at him, wondering if itâs too much to just call the cops and pretend they donât know each other.
Instead, he just sighs, meeting the customerâs eyes and gesturing back to one of the many curtained-off sections of the shop.
âIâm gonna go set up - you can just come find me when youâre ready.âÂ
The man nods meekly as Suna moves to set up at his station. Heâs joined a few minutes later, and within the hour, this shy man officially has his first tattoo. Itâs some simple line art on his wrist, but heâs staring at it in wonder as if it were Sunaâs life work.
âDude⌠Thank you so much.â
Suna just chuckles.
âYouâre good, man. Come back when youâre ready for a sleeve, yeah?â He flexes his own decorated arm at the man to emphasize the quip, and the guy just laughs, still peering down at his tiny tattoo.
The bell above the door jingles again, and he checks his watch with a subdued sigh. Heâd been looking forward to a quiet afternoon.
â Well, hello, Miss! Welcome in! Is this your first time? â
Suna rolls his eyes as he starts wrapping up his customerâs wrist, because he can recognize that sleazy tone in Atsumuâs voice from a mile away. Heâd had it since high school.
The last thing he needs is that idiot driving away potential customers with his gross attitude.
â O-Oh, no, itâs not- â Suna freezes, tape clinging to his thumb instead of to the wrapping. â -I just came to see Rin-er-Suna. Suna. âÂ
God, this cannot be happening.
The silence that follows is full of curiosity on Atsumuâs end. Suna rushes to finish up, desperate to cut their interaction short.
â Oh, you know Suna personally? Where from?â
âWe grew up together!â
âWhat?! Since when? âÂ
Why is it so god-damn hard to wrap a tattoo today? Heâs been doing this shit for years.
The quiet laughter that rings out in his shop is enough to make him flinch. Oh, he bets Atsumu loves that laugh.
âWe were neighbors until high school! Roommates now, actually-â âRoommates?!â
âAlright, youâre good. You can see my secretary up front for the bill.â Suna stands with unnecessary force, his head poking up from behind the curtain.Â
When he turns to the front, he has to force himself not to sigh.
Youâre standing in the waiting area, dangling a lunch box from one hand as you laugh brightly at Atsumuâs reaction.Â
The summer dress youâre wearing is one of his favorites â the way it hugs your curves has made his mind wander more often than heâd care to admit. And when you spot him looking at you, the twinkle that fills your eye is one he doesnât want to share with anyone.
Especially not Miya Atsumu .
âRin!â You thrust the lunch box out in his direction, shaking it playfully at him.Â
He leads his client up to the front, not bothering to respond aside from a nod of acknowledgement.Â
âAtsumu-â He claps him hard on the shoulder, but the blond is just staring up at him, scandalized. â-will ring you up.â He smiles down menacingly. âWonât you?â
Atsumu just nods dumbly and meets the customerâs eyes, still processing the information heâs just received.
âYeah, sure.â
Suna uses the break in his attention to glance at you, catching your interested gaze. He nods over his shoulder, leading you to the back room. You skip to catch up with him, your dress swaying around your hips. Suna pretends not to see it, choosing instead to shoulder the door open with a sigh.Â
âDonât you work today?â
âYeah, Iâm on my break!â You smile up at him, dangling the lunch box in his face again. He takes it without a word, flopping down onto the leather couch and setting it on the coffee table. You sit beside him, kicking your sandals off and curling your knees into your chest as you lean against him. âYou said you had a light day today, though.â
âI do. That was a walk-in.â He gestures out to the front in explanation, leaning forward to set his elbows on his knees as he unpacks the lunch. A trio of onigiri in one container and some cutely decorated hot dog bites in the other.Â
He bites into an onigiri and hums.
âSpicy crab.â
You lean forward, eyes sparkly. âDoes it taste okay? I tried something new today! Can you guess what it is?â
Suna just hums and takes another bite, knowing youâll tell him anyway. Youâd always had that hyperactive personality, that sweet girl persona. Growing up, heâd only ever needed to sit quietly in your presence. His friends had always been your friends, because he could never be bothered enough to make his own and you always had so many. Heâd liked it better that way â heâd never needed anyone but you.
âWhy didnât you tell Miya that you work at his brotherâs shop?â
âItâs spicy flakes! Can you taste them?â Only when he hums again, noncommittal to a fault, do you answer him. âWell, why havenât you or Osamu told him yet?â
Because we know how he is.
Suna just shrugs, reaching for the second one. Itâs filled with tuna.
You watch his reaction to the taste closely â the flavor isnât anything abnormal, but you watch him as if tuna were suddenly a bold choice. Youâd always liked watching him eat your cooking. It warms you to see him eat well.
Finally, you answer his question like an afterthought.
âI figured that if he didnât already know from you two, then there was no reason to know. And he comes into the shop all the time, anyway, but heâs always ranting about volleyball so he never notices me in the kitchen.â
Suna snorts. Of course Atsumu hadnât noticed you until it was convenient for him.
He reaches for a hot dog â itâs cut to resemble an octopus. He feels like heâs in high school, eating a bento made by a girlfriend.
He shoves that thought to the back of his head, popping the thing in his mouth and chewing with interest. Itâs good, just like everything you make.
âWhy didnât you tell him you knew who he was?â He takes another. Did you cook them in something sweet? This is new. âHe is famous.â
âYou always complained in high school that he had a big head.â You smile when he smirks at your simple reasoning. âYou like the honey soy glaze?â
So thatâs what it is.
ââs good.â
You beam at him, always excited for literally any response other than his grunt of general acknowledgement. Taking him in, you have to hide your grin behind a hand, because this 6â2â, heavily pierced and tattooed gloom of a man is eating a bento that looks like it was decorated by a teenage girl.Â
The moment is thoroughly interrupted when the door to the room is thrown open.
âSo this is where you two wandered off to!âÂ
Suna only realizes heâs sighed in irritation when you nudge him, a gentle reprimand. He glances back at you, finding that sweet expression you always put on around people you donât know well.
Part of him hates that youâd bless Miya Atsumu with even your fakest smile.
Atsumu barges in, taking a seat on the stool by the counter. He smiles smoothly at you, his eyes lingering on where your exposed thighs press into Sunaâs side. He can think of at least a dozen girls from high school who would have killed for that kind of proximity to Suna Rintarou.Â
And looking at you? He has no clue how a girl like you â so innocent-looking and cute, just his type â could end up this close with such a dry, deadpan man.Â
âSo, Rin-â Atsumuâs eyes linger shamelessly on any amount of plush skin he can manage a glimpse of. You pretend not to notice, if only for Rintarouâs sake. Heâs got his eyes locked on the bento, determined to ignore his friend, and you donât want him to get any more upset than he already is.Â
âWhy have you never mentioned this lovely lady to me? Iâve only known you - what, ten years ?â The blond counts the years on his fingers just to be sure, meeting your eyes flirtily when you laugh generously at his obvious attempt to be funny.
Sunaâs not sure why heâs suddenly wondering how good it would feel to kick Atsumuâs fat head right off his shoulders.
âBecause sheâs none of your business.â
He takes another bite of hot dog, as if he hadnât just set up an implied boundary about whose business you really are. Heâs staring down at the lunch, practically stabbing it with his chopsticks, so he doesnât see the way Atsumuâs eyebrows lift surprise, the way you just smile knowingly like this moment is familiar.
The blond glances at your face, but youâre just smiling at the back of Sunaâs head fondly.
Interesting.
He asks for your name, and when you give it, Atsumuâs repeating it back slowly, appreciatively.
Sunaâs self-aware enough to stifle the sigh this time. This guyâs so full of shit sometimes.
âWell, Suna and I met in high school.â He tilts his head in your direction, waiting for you to meet his eyes. It comes far later than heâd have liked, your gaze lingering on the food that Sunaâs eating. You watch for the manâs reaction to the onigiri heâs biting into, and when Suna nods with a hum, youâre beaming.Â
And then youâre turning your attention to Atsumuâs comment.
âOh, I know.â You settle back into the couch, throwing an arm onto the back of the cushion and leaning your head on your hand. âIâve heard all about you , Mister Miya.â
Suna knows heâd only ever complained about Atsumu in high school, but the way you say it to the blond makes it feel like youâre flirting.
Was that an accident of your tone? Or did you do that on purpose?
He glances up through his lashes, finding that interested gleam in Atsumuâs eye as he lifts his eyebrows.
âOh? Only good things, I hope.â
âI bet you do.â
Okay, that one was definitely on purpose. Suna has to restrain himself from glancing back at the look on your face - heâs a little afraid of what heâll find.
âWe were on the same volleyball team, you know.â
âI know that, too. I caught a couple of your games, when I could make the trip.â
Atsumuâs eyebrows lift impossibly higher, and heâs leaning forward to set his elbows on his knees.
You note that he doesnât look as good as Rintarou when he does it.
âOh, really? Then maybe - if youâre interested in volleyball - you might know that I went pro?â
Suna spears right through the last hot dog with one of his chopsticks. Heâd heard Atsumu use that line on so many girls before you. Fuck the fact that it never fails â heâs irritated that Atsumu would even dare to use it on you in the first place.
A recycled pickup line. What does he take you for?
He waits for you to humor him, at the very least. Of course you know he went pro. You work in his brotherâs onigiri shop. Osamu had gotten a TV installed for the sole purpose of airing Atsumuâs games live.
âOh, did you? Sorry, I donât really follow it anymore. Not since Rin stopped playing in college.â
It takes every single ounce of Sunaâs strength to keep his smile down. Heâs never seen such a clean shutdown in his life.
Apparently, neither has Atsumu. The man looks stunned, like he doesnât know how to respond. Suna takes the opportunity to pack up his empty bento, laying the chopsticks flat on the lid. He falls back into the couch with a satisfied sigh, unknowingly nestling his head into the space where youâre leaning.
You drop your arm around his shoulders with a smile. He turns to look at you, not realizing how close he is until itâs too late. His eyes widen just a fraction, and heâs turning away quickly to stare down at his lap, but you can see the color filling his cheeks.
âWas lunch good?â
Suna just hums, adding a shallow nod after the fact. He clenches his jaw when he hears Atsumu scoff across the room.
âDude, she made you a whole feast and all you do is nod ?â The blond puffs his chest out, meeting your eyes again. You smile sweetly, excited to see what heâll try next. âYou should make me lunch next time, Y/n. Iâll treasure it, I promise.â
Your grin grows, and Atsumu looks proud of himself, but youâre only laughing because heâs had your cooking. More than once, in fact. But heâd always been too caught up in himself to notice.
âIâll keep that in mind.â
âDo you always bring Suna his lunch?âÂ
You shake your head, leaning away from Rintarou briefly to reach for something in your bag. âNo, it was just a quiet day at work. I guess everyone is enjoying the weather.â
You pull out a container full of cut watermelon and a fork, passing it to Rin as Atsumuâs asking a follow-up question.
âWhere do you work?â
You smile to yourself, taking the lid from Rin. âIâm in the restaurant business.â
Suna stares down into the container. Youâd cut the watermelon into star shapes.
âWhat, did you get fucking trigger happy with a new fruit cutter or something?â
You just shake your head curiously.
âNo, I did it by hand. Why?â
Suna rolls his eyes with a smile as he takes a bite. Of course you did.
Atsumu clears his throat for your attention.
âWhich restaurant? Maybe Iâll stop by during your next shift to say hi.â
Suna narrows his gaze at the man.
âWhat exactly do you think she does?â
Atsumu meets his glare, eyes wide.
âShe said she was a waitress.â
You smile brightly at his response. Suna only scowls.
âDid she?â
In the blondâs defense, he does look to you right away, realizing heâs misunderstood.
âOh, sorry - Did IâŚâ He trails off when you laugh and shake your head.
âItâs fine. I spend most of my time in the kitchen, though, so I probably wouldnât have time to say hi if you stopped by.â
Atsumu lifts his brows, clearly impressed. âOh, shit, you cook? Thatâs pretty cool - my brother owns an onigiri shop, actually. You guys might get along!â
Suna purses his lips to hide his grin, shaking his head and stabbing at another piece of watermelon when you giggle and mumble â Oh, really? â in response.
And then the door jingles out front, and Sunaâs glancing at Atsumu. The blond makes no move to get up.
âYou know, usually my secretary is the one to greet the clients.â
Atsumu barely spares him a glance, too focused on smiling at you.
âYeah, well, your secretary also gets paid, soâŚâ
Suna glares â he would rather choke than leave you alone in here with him.
You recognize the look in his eye, your smile full of affection.
âI should probably get back to work, anyway. My break ends inâŚâ You check your watch. âOh. Ten minutes ago.â You laugh loudly, rushing to pack up and slip your sandals on. Rintarou stands, propping the door open and poking his head out to wave at his 3 oâclock.
âHey, sorry â I was just eating lunch.â You slip past him, all but jogging to the front. Atsumuâs not far behind, offering to walk you back to work. You brush him off quickly, glancing back at Suna as you hoist your bag over your shoulder.
âPick me up after work, Rin? I want to go grocery shopping.â
Suna just nods, leading his client back to his station and waving at you. He catches Atsumu following you out briefly, and he hears something about asking for your number, but he just sits at his stool and shakes his head with a heated sigh. His client settles into the chair and slips off his shirt, revealing their current work in progress.
âI didnât know you had a girlfriend.â
Atsumu barges back into the shop a moment later, and Suna hears the blond flop down into the chair at the front desk and call back to him excitedly.
â Dude, where have you been keeping a girl like that all these years?!â
Suna shakes his head again, trying to clear his mind so he can work. The response he mumbles to the client is bitter, even to his own ears.
âI donât.â
â
âYouâre quieter than usual.â You pick up another onion, examining it before setting it in the basket Rintarouâs holding.
âFunny.â He says nothing else, watching you glance down at the list in your hand before following you across the produce section to an area full of herbs like a dedicated boyfriend. There are two women not too far away, and when they spot the two of you â you in your pretty sundress with your bright smile, and him in all black with ink covering every inch of his arms and hands â they immediately start to whisper to each other, not even bothering to hide their glances.
You just pick up a bundle of cilantro, sniffing at it and humming in disapproval. You replace it and reach for another, the voices of the two women drifting through the otherwise empty area.
â -had a man like that, Iâd never let him out of the house-â
âOh, my God, stop it! Thatâs so awful-â
âI canât help it! Look at him, heâs perfect!â
You snort into the new bundle, barely hiding your smile as you reach for a bag to wrap it in. When you place it in the basket, you find Rintarou glaring at a display of parsley like heâs trying very hard not to listen, the tips of his ears red. You grin widely, shaking your head as you move down just a bit to reach the basil.
A bunch near the back of the display catches your eye, and youâre leaning forward to grab it. Itâs just a bit too far out of reach, the tips of your fingers barely brushing on it. Youâre about to ask for Rinâs help when the voices reach your ears again.
â- not sure what heâs doing with a girl like that, thoughâŚâ
âYeah⌠I mean, sheâs pretty-â
âI donât know, I just feel like I would take care of myself a little bit more if I wanted to keep a guy that hot.â
You blink, the heat of humiliation familiar in your cheeks. Youâre used to moments like these â you and Rin had always looked out of place together, always at odds with peopleâs expectations. And youâre no fool â you know what Rintarou looks like. How attractive he is.
If youâd been any younger â any less secure in yourself â you might have felt like crying when you heard that. Luckily, youâre not, but⌠itâs still not a fun experience.
â -do we even know if theyâre together? Sheâs probably not even his type. â
â Do you think theyâre not? Maybe I should go over there and try talking to him.â
Their giggles feel a lot like the ones from high school, from elementary school. Girls whoâve decided you arenât a threat to them because you look like this .
Thatâs fine. Itâs not like theyâre wrong. You and Rintarou arenât together, so that woman can do whatever she wants-
Thereâs a clatter as a basket hits the floor, and a tattooed arm is reaching past your face before you can process that it was your basket. The cold metal of Rinâs lip ring against your ear contrasts with the heated sigh he breathes into your skin, and you feel the front of his jeans pressing into the curve of your ass.
Oh.
His other hand finds your waist, the heat of his palm searing through the thin fabric of your dress. Your skin starts to burn where his fingertips dig into your hip.Â
Oh. Â
Were his hands always that big?
You watch with unseeing eyes as he wraps his hand with ease around the bunch of basil youâd been struggling to reach, the difference in your height suddenly painfully clear.
â They couldnât have me even if they begged for it .â His voice presses into the shell of your ear, the sound ricocheting around your head. You can hear the irritation in his voice, but you canât focus on anything except the fact that heâs never been this close before.
Itâs devastatingly intoxicating.
He leans away after a breath, fingers dragging on your waist as he drops his hand, and you have to force yourself to remember that you need to stand up straight. Only when you spin around, watching Rintarou reach for the discarded basket as you press cold fingers to your flushed face, do you realize that the women are gone.
You crack a weak joke when he stands to full height, desperate for anything to break the sudden silence around you. Just so Rin doesnât end up hearing how hard your heart is beating.
âNot even if they begged for it, huh?â You laugh, looking away from that piercing stare. âCanât imagine what a girl like me would have to do, then.â
Well, that certainly hadnât helped anything.
He just stares, eyes wide. You panic, meeting his gaze briefly before looking away again when you find nothing but his shock. When you look down at your list, trying to remember what youâd come here for, you see that the paper is crumpled in your fist â evidence of your nerves.
âBreadcrumbs. N-Need breadcrumbs.â You mumble to yourself and turn away, heading to another aisle. The brand you like is on the top shelf, so you just point to it, because you really donât need a repeat of the Basil Situation in the middle of your recovery.
âWell-â Rintarou breaks the silence this time, letting you take the basket while he reaches up. â-you did have a professional volleyball player thirsting after you just this afternoon, so you could probably have whatever you wanted without begging for it.â He examines the label as if he cares at all what it says. âThat is, of course-â He meets your eyes, setting the can of breadcrumbs in your hand.
â-unless thatâs your thing.â
Your lips part in surprise as Rin stares down at you like he hadnât just insinuated that you might be one to beg him for something.
âUhm-â You donât know why you started talking. You have nothing to say. There is nothing that could be said right now, when all you can do is look at him.
Heâs kind enough not to revel in your stunned silence, a grin peeking out as he reaches out and plucks the list from your hand. He says nothing about the fact that itâs violently crumpled and a little warm from how hard youâd squeezed it.
âWhatâs next-â He breathes it out, as if he canât feel the weight of your stare on his face. He hums when he finds it. âChicken.â He meets your eyes again, gaze searching yours. You blink rapidly and look away, mumbling the word â chicken â under your breath as you lead the way down the aisle.
Youâd always known Suna Rintarou was different. Youâd known from the moment youâd met, those eyes uncaring even as a child. Youâd known when heâd decided silently that you were his new friend, that no one else could be your friend the way that he was.Â
Youâd known whenever the rare boy in junior high would try to flirt with you, because Suna Rintarou was the name they would whisper furiously to their friends after their failed attempts. Suna Rintarou was the boy in school they had to look out for, because he was always right beside you. He would never say anything, watching you politely interact while theyâd flirt, but his empty stare was always enough.
It was enough that, even though heâd moved two hours away to an entirely different prefecture, his name had followed you to high school. Boys in high school were meaner â more judgmental of your appearance â so it never really mattered. But the girls would whisper about you, until your whole class knew the name of a student who didnât even go there.
âClaimedâ. âTakenâ. âHisâ.
Suna Rintarouâs girl.
Youâd never minded. In fact, youâd secretly enjoyed it â being part of those rumors that blew up and spread until some boys wouldnât even approach you for homework help. Youâd thought it was funny. They were so scared of a person who was nowhere near them, of a relationship that didnât exist.
It was only when you moved to Tokyo with him for college that youâd realized that maybe your classmates had been right.
Living together for the first time, youâd realized just how much of your life was taken up by him. Every morning, every break, every meal. Even if you werenât physically together â the Nutritional Sciences Department was irritatingly far from the Art Department â those moments always involved him. A text during your quick lunch break with a friend. A call while he was heading to his next class. A walk home, because heâd waited outside your department until you were done with meetings for the day, sketching art into his skin with a ballpoint pen to keep from getting bored.
And even though the new friends youâd made knew he was nothing to be afraid of, there was nothing that could stop them from saying those words again.Â
That you were Suna Rintarouâs girl.
And why wouldnât they? The evidence against it wasnât convincing in the slightest. Not when Suna was a wall to any girl who was interested in him, his attention wholly yours. Not when he hadnât even bothered to look up from his YouTube video when youâd asked one night if he wouldnât be interested in spending time with any of those girls. Not when his response was immediate and clear, like heâd never consider it.
â Why would I? I have you.â
That had been almost 5 years ago, and you hadnât asked him something like that since. Youâd just let yourself get used to the fact that it was obvious nowâ
The way his eyes search for you immediately in a crowded room.
The way he lets you fall asleep in his bed while he sketches out ideas for his clients on his iPad.
The way heâd stabbed the octopus-shaped hot dog bites in his bento like theyâd personally offended him while Miya Atsumu was flirting with you.
You know now, probably more than even he does, that youâre his. Youâve accepted that fact with whatever it means, platonic or otherwise, because it had always been that way.
20 years, it had been that way.
So why â why the fuck â did he have to go and do something about it now , in the middle of a grocery store on a random Friday evening?
â
Suna hates that his heart skips whenever the bell above the shop door jingles. He hates that, for the last two days, heâs glanced over at the door every single time, hoping it was you.
Heâd known you wouldnât show. You usually donât. But⌠something had changed between you two. Ever since the heâd handed you a can of fucking breadcrumbs and not-so-subtly hinted that you might be a girl whoâs into begging.
He wants to hit himself over the head with the nearest blunt object.
He sighs, shaking his head, and pulls open the cabinets in the back room. The weekend had been hectic with appointments â it was enough to keep his thoughts occupied â but Mondays are notoriously slow, and now heâs stuck back here doing inventory and thinking about you.
The bell jingles outside again, but heâs got two artists and a piercer on shift today, so he canât possibly be needed for anything outside of his appointments.
But then the door to the back room is slamming open, and the person he wants to see least in the world right now is barging through.
â Why didnât you tell me that Y/n works at Onigiri Miya?!â
Suna stares, unblinking.
âWho let you back here? They need to be fired.â
âSuna-â Atsumu tries to grab for him, but the man is quick to smack his hands away with the clipboard heâs holding. â-I need you to be honest with me.â
âWhat?â It comes out in a sigh, Suna counting stock on the first shelf of the cabinet heâs staring into.
âAre you hitting that?â
He loses count.
One breath, just enough to steady his growing agitation.
He starts counting again.
âAm I hitting what ?â
â That .â Suna makes the mistake of glancing back at Atsumu â the man is gesturing in the space between them, making the shape of your ass and the curve of your breasts right in front of him. âI mean⌠Jesus, dude.â
Suna wonders if there are any more clipboards in the shop, because heâs thinking of smashing this one into Atsumuâs face.
âCare to be a little more respectful?â
Atsumu waves him off. Sunaâs grip tightens on his clipboard. One little swing wouldnât kill him.
âAre you fucking her or not?â When Sunaâs lips part with surprise, his gaze finally showing a glimpse of emotion as he turns to tear into Atsumu, the twin cuts him short, oblivious. âBecause if youâre not, can I have her?â
Sunaâs free hand shoots out, fisting Atsumuâs shirt tightly and dragging the shorter man toward him.
âMiya, I swear to God- â
â Ah .â Atsumu smirks up at him. âYou do like her. No wonder she didnât give me her number that day.â
âWhat?â Suna furrows a brow. You hadnât given him your number? âWhere the hell did that come from?â
Atsumu just points down at the fist Suna has curled into his shirt, as if it were obvious.
âYou like her.â
Suna shoves him away, watching with satisfaction when Atsumuâs back slams against the cabinets over on the opposite counter, the blond wincing slightly. Still, he finds himself being examined with knowing eyes.
He turns away, because heâs not in the mood to be psychoanalyzed by Miya Atsumu on a Monday afternoon.
âHow do you do it, man?â
Suna just grunts in response and starts taking inventory again, waiting for Atsumu to elaborate.Â
âHow do you wake up every day in the same house as that and not lose your fucking mind-â
âWell, I start by having a shred of human fucking decency.â Suna almost tears the paper with how hard heâs writing. âHer bodyâs not the only thing worth looking at.â
Thereâs silence, and Suna glances over his shoulder again to find Atsumu just staring at him with deadpan eyes.
âNo, really. How do you do it?â
Suna rolls his eyes and turns back to the cabinet, not wanting to admit that he has no fucking clue how he does it. But he has, on more than one occasion, had to rely on the self-control and discipline of a former athlete to keep him from snapping when you leave your room in the tight tank top and baby shorts you dare to call pajamas .
Youâd been too self-conscious to wear revealing clothing in college â heâd had no idea how good heâd had it back then. Four years living with the girl whoâd grown into a woman in the years of high school that youâd been apart. Heâd managed to survive it, only to watch your self-esteem grow after graduation, and now he lives every day in his own personal hell.
Heâs happy to see that the shy elementary schooler that used to cling to him had grown into this confident, successful woman â but fuck him, you really like to knock him on his ass when heâs least expecting it.
And when youâd laughed and asked him what a girl like you would have to do to get his attention, in the middle of a grocery store on a Friday evening?Â
Heâd almost dropped everything and dragged you home just to show you.
But he hadnât, and you two had acted like nothing had happened when youâd gotten home. Youâd put the groceries away, and heâd ordered takeout for your movie marathon, and then later â when he was sure you were asleep â heâd taken a shower, praying to whatever higher power that might exist that the running water would mask the way heâd choked out your name when he had come all over his hand to the thought of fucking you in that dress.
âYou know, Suna-â Suna shakes his head to clear it, moving on to the second shelf. He organizes as he starts counting. â-you might want to actually make a move instead of just hovering over her.â
âOh, yeah? What would you know?â He mumbles it, his jaw clenched in annoyance as he makes a few more notes on the inventory sheet. Atsumuâs response is smug.
âOh, I wouldnât know anything. But I would think that youâd want to do something about the fact that she technically isnât yours at all.â
Suna stills, his gaze blank as he stares down at the clipboard. What is that supposed to mean?
âSheâs still single, you know. But-â He hears Atsumu lift away from the counter and move toward the door. The blond opens it, sighing back at him. â-I donât know. Maybe she wonât be for long.â
And then heâs gone, the door slamming behind him.Â
Suna considers banning Atsumu from his shop entirely.
â
By the time Sunaâs stepping through the door of Onigiri Miya, his mood has tanked significantly. Heâd spent the rest of the work day in his office, ordering supplies and fighting off a headache with a third â and then a fourth â cup of coffee. And then heâd stared out the window, watching the sky darken and open up right in front of his eyes, the downpour sudden and entirely unmentioned by the weather app on his phone.
Still, heâd walked in the direction of the restaurant after closing up shop, his clothes soaked by the time heâs ducking into the air-conditioned restaurant.Â
âOh-â He looks up through his dripping bangs at the sound, finding Osamu at the swinging door to the kitchen. The twin disappears without another word, returning a moment later with a towel. He throws it carelessly over Sunaâs head. âYouâll get sick.â
Suna hadnât even realized he was shivering.
âThanks.â He pats at his clothes and skin and then leaves the towel on his head, following Osamu over to a table. The restaurantâs basically empty, but he spots several takeout orders at the counter. At least they still have good business on a day like this.
âWant me to get Y/n to make you something?â Osamu pulls out his order notepad, clicking his pen with an obnoxious grin. Suna just breathes out a laugh, shaking his head and scrubbing the towel through his hair.
âItâs fine. I donât want to distract her.â
âWellâŚâÂ
Suna meets his eyes. Osamuâs scratching at his neck awkwardly. âSheâs already half-distracted, soâŚâ
âWhat?â He stands, following Osamu to the swinging door. The twin pushes it open, revealing the kitchen on the other side.Â
Youâre standing at one of the stainless steel counters with your back to the door, rolling rice balls as you laugh at something Atsumuâs just said.
â-donât think thatâs a good idea at all-â
âYou arenât even slightly curious about the idea of dessert onigiri?!â
âNot enough to waste ingredients on it!â You shake your head fervently, setting another rice ball down on the tray next to you. Atsumu smiles flirtily, leaning forward onto the counter across from you.
âWhat if I buy them? Free ingredients for you to experiment with, howâs that? You can come over to my place, and we can-â His gaze cuts over your shoulder, finding Sunaâs cold glare. Osamu hums sympathetically, mumbling low so only Suna can hear.
âSorry⌠I tried to keep him from noticing her.â
Atsumu grins as if he can hear perfectly well what his twin is saying. Suna swallows, the words â maybe she wonât be for long â echoing in his head.
âItâs fine. Itâs none of my business.â He doesnât see the way Osamu blinks at him in surprise, too busy keeping his gaze trained on Atsumuâs.Â
You only now seem to notice the silence, your attention fully on the rice balls before. You hum in question and then turn over your shoulder when you see where Atsumuâs looking.
Atsumu doesnât miss the fact that Suna only breaks eye contact for you.
âRin!â Your eyes sparkle when you beam at him, and then you run to wash your hands. âLetâs go home! I thought up some new ideas for dinner â I want to try them out.â
Suna raises an eyebrow. Your shift doesnât end for another half hour.Â
Atsumuâs grin grows on his face.
âOh, sorry, man. âSamu let her off early because of the rain, but I guess we just got caught up chatting.â
You shake your head to yourself as you dry your hands and move to store the prepped rice balls for tomorrowâs batch. You can hear Atsumu trying to get under Rintarouâs skin.Â
Heâd come in for lunch and only then realized that you actually work here, almost 3 years after youâd been hired. Heâd disappeared after eating, and the smug look in his eye when heâd returned only 20 minutes later had told you that heâd certainly stopped by Sunaâs shop to mess with him.
Youâd already had a feeling, but that moment had solidified the fact that Miya Atsumu is not your type.
Still, youâd humored him all afternoon, dodging his obvious attempts to get a date out of you and paying more attention to Osamu when the owner would wander into the kitchen from the front, just so Atsumu doesnât think he has a monopoly on your time.
And when youâd seen Rintarou at the door, wet hair falling into his eyes and cheeks flushed from the rain, youâd forgotten for just a moment that the twins were even in the room with you.
You rush to the back room after storing the rice balls, hurrying to put your apron away and grab your bag. The last few nights had been a bit strange, Sunaâs walls coming up in the way they do only when heâs stressed. You hadnât expected him to pick you up from work.
Maybe tonight would be different.
You hurry out to the kitchen, practically skipping up to him with a bright smile. He meets it with his usual deadpan.
âStay here while I go down to the convenience store for an umbrella.â
You shake your head, latching onto his arm when he starts to turn away.
âNope! We go together.â
He looks like heâs about to argue, but youâre already bidding farewell to the twins.
âSee you tomorrow, âSamu!â You offer Atsumu nothing more than a wave, keep the interaction minimal.
When you and Suna are gone, running past the window toward the convenience store, Osamu turns to his brother with arms crossed over his chest.
âWhat are you doing?â
Atsumu just smiles to himself knowingly. He really had been interested in you. But itâs obvious that it wonât go anywhere â you wonât even give him the time of day, but it seems like youâd give Suna Rintarou the world if he asked for it.
âGiving Suna the push he needs, apparently.â
â
âDo you like guys like that?â
You turn to look at Rintarou, but heâs not looking at you. Youâre at the stove, mixing the last of the ingredients into the pasta dish youâd wanted to try, and heâs at the counter setting out some bowls and utensils.
Still, it doesnât slip your notice that heâd kept his back to you when he had asked.
âGuys like what?â When he doesnât respond, you realize what heâs referring to. You watch him with a growing smile, glancing back at the stove only to turn the burner off. âGuys like Miya Atsumu?â
His clenched jaw tells you everything. All you can do is snort, hiding your smile behind your hand. He turns to you now, incredulous that you would laugh at him.
âWhat?â
âNothing, nothing-â You keep laughing anyway. âIâm just wondering if youâre genuinely asking if Iâm into another man.â
His eyelids flutter as he turns away, processing what youâve just given him.
âI donât know what youâre talking about-â
âRin-â You sigh. âWhy are you asking?â
He says nothing for a minute, just moving out of your way so you can scoop pasta into each of the bowls. âIâm just curious. You donât have to tell me if you donât want to.â
Heâs always been so good at pretending he doesnât care.
âOkay.â You smile innocently, setting the pot back on the stove and preparing to try your first bite. Waiting, because youâve never been anything but entirely open with him, and you just know itâll drive him crazy that youâre keeping him in the dark about-
âWhy didnât you give him your number?â
You laugh louder this time, blatantly in his face. He shoots you a glare.
â What? â
âRin, are you trying to set me up with your best friend from high school?â
âIâm not-â He rolls his eyes. âThatâs definitely not what Iâm doing.â
âThen why are you asking?â You turn toward him, setting your fork back into the bowl. âWhat are you trying to figure out?â
âI just want to know if you like him. Thatâs it.â
âWould it matter if I did?â
He meets your eyes, confused.
âWhat? Obviously.â
âWhy? It never mattered before.â
He blinks rapidly. âWhatâŚ? When?â
You sigh, staring down at the counter.Â
Does he really not get it? Has he really been this blind all these years?
âWhy did you do⌠what you did? On Friday.â
He flushes immediately. âBecause they were being rude.â
âYou could have just told them off. Or glared at them. Or done anything but that -â
âAre you saying I shouldnât have done it?â Heâs getting defensive, not used to having his actions questioned by you. Never by you.
âNo, thatâs not what Iâm saying. Iâm just asking why you did it.â
âBecause they were making assumptions about you, and they were definitely making assumptions about me.â
You search for his gaze, but he wonât give it to you. He just stares off to the side, down the hallway of your apartment.
âRight. Assumptions about my body, assumptions about your type.â He shakes his head, scoffing as if heâs filled with renewed irritation. âBut weâve been surrounded by assumptions our whole lives.âÂ
Now he meets your eyes, a brow furrowed. You lean back against the corner of the counter, breathing out a laugh. âYou really never noticed? Not once?â
You feel yourself grow frustrated when he just stares, eyes blank. Had it really just been you all this time? Experiencing the consequences of being claimed by a man who didnât even realize he had done it. A man who, you now think, had lived a life without ever once feeling the weight of everyoneâs eyes on him.
A man who looks like that , who can have whoever he wants, and a girl who looks like you . A girl who might have had a chance to date or find love when everyone else was, if boys hadnât gone out of their way to avoid you just so they wouldnât upset him .Â
You know, even just thinking about it now, that you wouldnât have been interested in anyone else anyway. It just hurts to know that youâd gone about your life under the impression that you were his, when you now have no idea if he was yours this whole time, too.
Rintarou breathes your name, cautious. An unspoken question â why are you upset with him?
âDid you ever date, Rin? When we were in high school?â
Suna furrows a brow.Â
âNoâŚ?â
âWhy not?â
Because I was yours.
He blinks and looks away. He doesnât know if he can say that to you.
âBecause I had you.â He thinks thatâs close enough.
But your frown is deepening, and he realizes that itâs not nearly close enough.
âDo you know why I never dated?â
He searches your gaze, hating that itâs cold.
âYou never mentioned being interested in anyoneâŚâ
âBecause I wasnât.â Your jaw clenches and you cross your arms over your chest. âBecause I already belonged to someone â someone who made that fact very clear to any guy that could have possibly been interested in me.â
His lips part in surprise, and he looks like he wants to say something when he realizes what youâre saying.
But you just look away and slide your bowl toward yourself, shaking your head as you twirl pasta around your fork.Â
âI didnât realize that it might be one-sided â that maybe he didnât belong to me . But I guess thatâs just my fault for not asking. My bad.â Itâs impossible not to see how bitter your smile is when you lift the fork to your lips and finally take your first bite.
Suna just stares when you hum and nod. Thereâs sauce on the corner of your mouth, a little more on your bottom lip. ââs pretty good. I think youâll like it.â A simple evaluation of your own cooking, as if you hadnât just stopped time for him with the admission of your pain.
Pain that heâs realizing could have been prevented if he werenât so fucking avoidant.
He steps toward you after a breath, reaching out and brushing his fingers across your knuckles just as youâre moving to grab another bite. Your fork clatters into the bowl when you pull away from the touch. You cross your arms and look away, avoiding his gaze.
But he steps too close, hovering over you in that corner of the counter. Only when his hand slips past the curtain of your hair and cups the back of your neck â the other presses into the countertop beside you, trapping you there â do you meet his eyes, your own wide with surprise.
âWha-â The rest catches in your throat, because heâs dipping his head toward yours, hooded eyes examining something on your cheek. You stare past him, unable to find your breath, and feel the exact moment when your heart leaves your chest and makes its home in the base of your throat.
Rintarou presses his lips to the corner of your mouth, not enough to be a kiss but far too close to ever be able to take it back. But when you feel the pass of his tongue over your skin, burning into that spot and making it his, you realize that heâs not planning to draw that line with you again, the one that had always been there.
Heâs going to erase it entirely, with the determination of a man who hates that it ever existed in the first place.
âYouâre right. It is pretty good.â He breathes the words into that spot, and you realize that heâs talking about the food.
âCan I try more?â
He gives you no time to wonder what that means â no time to wonder ever again what heâs trying to say.
His lips push against yours, full and warm and everything youâd imagined theyâd feel like. You gasp and pull away in surprise, but heâs there again, leaning forward to keep you right where he wants you.Â
You can feel heat radiating off of his face, cheeks flushed and warm on yours when you cling to the front of his shirt, unable to do much else. He smiles against your lips and breaks the kiss, still close enough that your shallow pants mix in the space with his as you catch your breath, both of your chests heaving.
âWhat was it that your friends from college used to call you? That name that would make you blush.â Youâre unable to look away from his lips, unable to understand that you can still feel the memory of them on yours. He smiles and leans close, mouth hovering over yours when he whispers. ââ Suna Rintarouâs girl â? Was that it?â
You flush, your eyes drifting shut when you feel him closing in on you again.Â
âSo you did noticeâŚâ
âI didnât know about high school. You never told me.â
âI didnât think I needed to-â You canât look at him. Itâs too much, too overwhelming. âI took it for granted. That I was yours-â
â Good .â Heâs all you can feel, all you can smell and hear and touch. Heâs everywhere. âYou were supposed to take it for granted, that was the point.âÂ
His fingers close around your jaw, squeezing your cheeks and tilting your face up toward his. You know he can feel your racing pulse at the side of your throat. âBecause youâre mine. You were always mine, and I made sure everyone knew.â His nose brushes against yours, breath warm on your lips. âBut I guess I wasnât clear enough⌠was I?â
You swallow hard, feeling the shallow laugh he breathes out when you donât answer him.
âYouâre my girl, arenât you?â His bottom lip brushes against yours when he whispers to you. âAnd you were right to feel safe in that fact. Because I never looked at anyone else, not once.â
â Why would I? I have you.â Â
Those words from 5 years ago come back to you, along with memories of the way heâd ignored the existence of any girl that would approach him, for as long as you can remember.
âAnd those women in the grocery store? Talking about how youâre not my type?â
Youâre distinctly aware of how the hand he has on your face is starting to pull you closer, his own mouth drifting away to keep the sliver of distance between you.
âThey must not have properly looked at you, Y/n.â He smiles softly down at you when your eyelids flutter open briefly at his words. âHow could you not be my type? My type is you.â
The push of his lips on yours comes this time with his hands on your waist, tugging you toward him. He wraps an arm around you and lifts you without warning, setting you on the counter just as youâre gasping into his mouth.
He fills the space between your thighs the moment you spread them, one hand on the small of your back and the other cupping your neck. You fist the front of his t-shirt, anchoring yourself to him and keeping him close.
You never want to let him go.
â Iâm yours, Y/n. â He mumbles the admission against your lips, finally confirming what youâd been worried about. âIâm yours, you hear me?âÂ
His mouth drops to a spot under your ear, his voice filling your senses as his fingers play with the top button of your shirt.Â
âWant me to tattoo it on my skin? Just tell me where â Iâll have it done by the end of the night.â
The button comes undone, and heâs quick to move to the next one, thumb and pointer finger working efficiently down the line as his other hand slips around your waist and pulls your hips to the edge of the counter, flush to his.
Your breath comes shallow when your shirt finally falls free, because heâs pressing his hand to the spot just under the curve of your breast and pushing his lips against yours possessively â claiming you. You canât feel your fingers when you card them through his hair and pull him close, your skin filled with a tingle that spreads over your body like a sickness. Even your head is staticky, plagued by that tingle. Rendering you defenseless to him â Suna Rintarou.
â I love you .â
You whisper it without thinking, Rinâs mouth stilling on yours. He pulls away, staring down at you with wide eyes. Your heart drops to your stomach when you realize what youâd said, and your face burns when he just stares, dumbfounded.
âI-â
âAgain.â He looks entranced, gaze glued to your lips while he waits. Because heâd felt you say the words, but he wants to watch you say them â wants to witness it with his own eyes, because heâs terrified it hadnât actually happened.
You wet your lips nervously and repeat yourself.
âI love you, Rintarou.âÂ
The three syllables of his name fall past your lips, stacking on top of each other just like the words right before them and stealing the breath right out of his lungs.
When he kisses you, itâs with an urgency that hadnât been there before. Your back slams against the cabinet when he presses into you, but you donât notice anything except the slide of his palms on your thighs as his hands disappear under the hem of your skirt.Â
His pointer fingers hook into the waistband of your underwear, tugging impatiently until you lift your hips. Theyâre gone and on the floor before youâve fully processed that youâd just let him take your panties off. That this is going somewhere, fast .
âSorry, that probably wasnât very hot-â Rintarouâs mouth is in the crook of your neck, his teeth brushing against your skin in a way that makes you shiver and slide your fingers through his hair. âIn my head, it was slow and sensual, but-â His hands slide over your thighs again, fingers digging into the plush skin as he pries them just a little further apart. His lips twitch against your throat, a smile sneaking through as he laughs breathily.
â-Iâve never felt this desperate before.â
You whimper when he pulls your hips to his, the front of his jeans pressing up against your bare core and sending a shock flying up your spine. Your fingers tighten in his hair, and he sucks harshly on your throat.
You feel it, too â that desperation to just make him yours. To make this the truth, after so many years of just saying it was.
ââs okay,â You pant, feeling his fingers dancing along your inner thighs toward a spot thatâs extremely warm right now. âYou can just make it slow and sensual next time.â
He breathes a heated sigh against your skin, the words â next time â mumbled back to you, like he canât believe that next time even exists.
And then he lifts his head and plants his lips on yours, his thumb finally sliding along your folds and finding your clit with terrifying precision. You gasp, and he swallows the moan that falls past your lips when he circles that little bundle of nerves, the same way you would when you would think about him late at night.
He does everything the way youâd always wanted â slides his fingers through your folds, buries them inside of you, and curls them against your walls in a way that has you seeing stars. He does it perfectly, all while kissing you stupid and whispering your name like heâs trying to decide exactly where it would look best on his skin, permanent and for the world to see.
He touches you like heâs always known how, as if this isnât the first time. As if his heart isnât about to rip out of his chest from the way youâre gasping his name, those three syllables stacked on top of each other in your mouth.
And when you finally come undone, your face buried in the crook of his neck as you cry for him, heâs saying it back â the words that he needs you to hear.
â I love you .â He feels your tears soak through his shirt as your walls tighten around his fingers, and your body starts to tremble in his arms as you gasp for breath. âI love you, Y/n- Iâve always loved you, from the day that we met-âÂ
â Rin-â Your arms curl around his shoulders, and you cling to him as you come down from your high. He holds you close and kisses you, letting you recover.
Eventually, you breath a harsh sigh and meet his eyes, your cheeks flushing when you see how heâs looking at you.
âHiâŚâ You mumble it in embarrassment, and then jolt in shock, because heâs wiggling his fingers playfully inside of you when he responds.
âHi yourself.â
You smack his arm and look away, eyelids fluttering when he pulls out of you and sets his hand safely on your thigh. And then you let him kiss you, soft and slow like your eyes arenât still blurry with tears from how hard heâd made you come.
Suna pulls away, eyes roaming your face. Your skin is flushed red, just like his own, and youâre wiping unshed tears from your eyes, your expression laced with embarrassment when you realize heâs just watching you.
You cross your arms over your chest, pulling your shirt closed self-consciously â you feel strange, letting him see all of your rolls and stretch marks. His eyes are lingering on those spots, and you feel like heâs seeing too much. Seeing the things you were worried about showing him, because you thought in the back of your mind that maybe he would decide then that he didnât want you, after all.
Rintarou lets you cover yourself, lets you drape your shirt over your chest and hide your tummy with your arms. He watches with a blank expression, gaze flicking between your movements and your eyes like he knows exactly what youâre thinking. But when you try to cover your thighs â try to move his hands so you can pull your skirt down â he sighs softly, knowingly, and stops you.
His hands catch your wrists, and he presses them together in your lap, locking them tight with one hand while he uses the other to undo all your work, those uncaring eyes unbearable warm on your skin.Â
Tugs your shirt open with a pointer finger.
Pushes the hem of your skirt back up your thighs.
Leans down to press his lips to the tops of your breasts, an open-mouthed kiss over your racing heart.
He mumbles all the while, his mouth tracing a path up past your collarbones and toward your neck.
âThere you go again-â A nip to the column of your throat, a pass of his tongue over the spot to soothe the pain. â-listening to the wrong people.â
He leans away, watching how his hands look on you, tattooed fingers kneading into unmarked skin â like heâs tainting you. Ruining you for anyone else.
The thought makes him grin, worsened when you look up at him with those wide, innocent eyes.
âMy sweet girl.â He smiles grows at your blush, and heâs reaching to push your shirt off your shoulders. You let him, even though you look nervous at how much heâs going to see. He drags the fabric down your arms, but he stops when it pools around your elbows. A gasp falls past your lips when he yanks the material taut suddenly, your forearms pulled together and the swell of your breasts forced out toward him.
He eyes them hungrily, his smirk dark when you whisper his name nervously, your arms tangled up in your shirt.
âWhy do you let other people get in your head?â He drags his gaze down your chest to your tummy and thighs, his tongue poking out briefly to wet his lips. âHave you seen yourself? Youâre so soft â you know how many times Iâve thought about putting my hands on you?â
You breathe harshly, your chest heaving and snapping his attention back to it. Without taking his eyes off of your breasts, he reaches for you shoulders, sliding your bra straps off slowly, one at a time. And then he hooks a finger into one of the cups, meeting your eyes.
âAre you ready to start listening to me instead?â
You swallow, nodding shallowly. He keeps you entranced, keeps your gaze locked on his, even as heâs tugging both cups down past your chest, officially leaving you completely exposed to him.
And then he drops his gaze, and you watch his eyes widen slightly, his lips parting as he takes you in. He barely notices when you move, your tied hands inching forward in front of you until youâre close enough to touch the tips of your fingers to the front of his jeans.
He flinches immediately, his eyes flying down and then back to yours when he realizes what youâre doing. You watch his eyelashes flutter when you become bold enough to press the flat of your hand against him, and you finally feel just how hard he is.
The pit of your stomach twists with arousal as you palm him gently, and your heart is thumping harshly in your chest when his hips jut forward of their own accord, chasing the feeling of your hand on him.
You feel time slow to nothing when you reach to undo his jeans, because heâs dropping his gaze to watch what you do. The sound of the zipper makes him tense, and you watch him swallow harshly when you slip your hand down the front of his jeans, cupping him through his boxers.
Your own breath comes shallow, skin tingling where he digs his fingers into your thighs, anchoring himself to you. With a steadying breath, you reach into his boxers, wrapping your hand around him.Â
And then you get distracted, because Rintarou is breathing out a moan and dropping his head back, eyes fluttering shut and lips parting with pleasure as he goes. You watch him closely, heartbeat rushing in your ears, as you slide your palm against him slowly.
â Fuck- â He breathes it out, Adamâs apple bobbing when he swallows harshly. You keep your eyes on him, stroking him slowly and watching his every reaction.Â
Suna drops his gaze to your hand, and he moans again, eyes rolling into the back of his head. Because watching you do this to him just like heâd always imagined â your hand wrapped around him like that, so much smaller than his own, with your thighs spread for him and your breasts spilling out of your bra, your tongue poking out past your lips as you concentrate â it might just be a little too much for him after all.
You work him closer and closer to the edge, entranced by the way his chest heaves, the way he mouths your name silently as he unconsciously pushes his hips to meet the base of your fist every time you slide against him.
And then his hand is snapping down over your wrist, stilling your movements. You jump, staring up at him as he hovers over you, breathing harshly. He leans his forehead against yours, shaking his head.
âToo closeâŚâ
You pout, wanting to watch him come undone the way you had. Wanting to make him yours.
âBut⌠I want you toâŚâ
His response is a breathless laugh, eyes still shut tight.
âYouâre gonna have to try harder than that.â
â-you could probably have whatever you wanted without begging for it.âÂ
Your heart pounds in your head when the memory comes to you, just a few days ago.Â
Oh, how youâd never imagined that youâd be here now.Â
You tilt your head up toward him, lips brushing against his. He leans into it, eyes fluttering open to stare down at your mouth.
â-unless thatâs your thing.â
ââŚPlease?â
Sunaâs breath catches in his throat, and his gaze is locking on yours, eyes wide. His grip on you loosens in surprise, and youâre guiding his cock toward you, past the hem of your skirt, never taking your eyes off of him. He swallows hard, eyes flitting between yours nervously.
He breathes out shakily when the head of his cock slides against your entrance, his eyelids fluttering as he dips his head down and swears against your mouth.
â ShitâŚÂ Youâre killing meâŚâ
You whine against him, feeling the tip bump gently against your clit when he shifts toward you. â Please , Rin. Please. I need you-â
He snaps when you properly beg for him, a low growl trapped in his throat when he pushes his lips to yours roughly. Reaching up, he fists your hair in his hands and angles your head so he can mold himself to you. He surges forward, and your back slams into the cabinet again, his mouth firmly on yours.
And then he reaches down with his free hand, pushing your hands away so he can guide himself back to your entrance.
â I want you to say it . That Iâm yours .â He murmurs against your mouth, and you mewl in response, because heâs pushing into you slowly. He stops and pulls his lips away when you donât seem to hear him, and you almost cry out in frustration. âY/n.â
You glare up at him, your gaze cloudy, because heâs buried halfway inside of you and still has the audacity to think that youâre able to focus on anything else.
â What ?â
He stares down at you, seemingly patient, but you can see the furrow of his brow and the set of his jaw. Heâs trying hard to focus, too.
âSay Iâm yours. Tell me, so I know you understand.â
Your heart drops to your stomach at his words, and you clench unconsciously around him. His eyelids flutter, and then his grip in your hair tightens.
â Tell me , or I wonât move.â
You canât help but laugh, even though itâs laced with a moan when he twitches inside of you.
âWhy would you do that to yourself?â
He just tilts his head and smiles gently at you, like heâs not struggling immensely right now.
âSo that you know that this isnât just me claiming you.â
You breathe heavily as you stare up at him, your chest soaring with affection. And then you reach out to cup his face, stacking the syllables of his name once more, filled with love and the silent promise that youâll continue to say it like that, for the rest of your life.
âRintarou-â He sighs when you pull his mouth to yours. â Youâre mine .â You push your lips against his, soft. âYou belong to me now, okay? Youâre not allowed to go anywhere. I wonât let you.â
He tilts his head, kissing you slowly, murmuring against you. âPromise?â When you breathe a confirmation, nodding, he takes a breath. Gives you just a breath.
And then he pushes forward in the next, until his hips are flush against yours.
You moan into each otherâs mouths, your body tingling at the stretch. He draws his hips back, moaning your name breathlessly, and then snaps them forward, his patience gone.
You can only cling to him, burying your face in the crook of his neck, as he thrusts into you relentlessly. Your back slams into the cabinet with every snap of his hips against yours, filling the room with the sounds of your cries and the rhythmic promise of several noise complaints.
Rintarou barely notices, too lost in the feeling of you wrapped around him, tighter and tighter with every thrust. He pants into your ear, your name the only thing he has left in his head.
âI think you were made for me-Â â He pulls back, pressing his forehead against yours so he can look at you. Your eyes are filling with tears again, and your voice cracks when you stutter over his name on the next thrust. âYou fit so perfectly around me. Look-â He tangles his hand into your hair again, gripping tight and forcing you to look down with him.Â
You choke on a sob when you watch how he slams into you, and heâs quick to lift your head so he push his mouth against yours, claiming each and every sound that falls past your lips. âYou were made for me-â Itâs barely audible over the noises youâre making, increasingly louder the closer he pushes you to the edge. Your foot swings and catches on something behind Rin, something that falls to the floor and shatters on the other side of the counter. He doesnât even hear it. â Just for me .âÂ
The coil in the pit of your stomach twists angrily, but it stands no chance of surviving when he reaches down and presses his thumb to your clit, just like he had the first time. The coil snaps instantly and without warning, and youâre throwing your head back against the cabinet as your vision goes white.
â Rintarou- â You think you might have screamed it, but your ears are ringing, because he hasnât slowed down in the slightest. He just fucks you through it, his hips only stuttering when you clench tight around him. Only then does he slam his hands down on the counter on either side of you, his head buried in your neck.
He chokes on your name, and then youâre warm. Warm with the breath he heaves onto your skin, warm with the feeling of owning and belonging to him all at once. Warm as he spills into you, filling you up and making you his as he moans into your ear.
Finally, he stills. Slumps against you, chest heaving against yours as you comb your fingers through his hair with a trembling hand. He whispers against your skin, the â I love you â just as warm as everything else, while he curls his arms around your waist. Eventually he lifts his head, bangs stuck to his forehead with sweat and his skin as flushed and hot as yours.Â
You donât think youâll ever get tired of seeing this side of him.
He presses his lips against yours gently as he pulls out of you, and then he mumbles that heâs going to get a wet rag for you. Youâre strangely proud to see that your 6â2â, heavily pierced and tattooed gloom of a man actually loses his balance and stumbles slightly as heâs turning toward the hallway.
He glances back at you, embarrassed, and then breathes out a laugh when he finds you smiling lovingly up at him. He shakes his head, disappearing down the hall with a mumbled â shut up â.
He reappears a moment later, cleaning both of you up gently and kissing you every few seconds, just because he can. You lean lazily against the cabinet, your mind hazy and full of Suna Rintarou.
But then you glance down at the counter, and youâre tilting your head in confusion.
âWhereâd the other bowl go?âÂ
He hums curiously, realizing that thereâs only one bowl of pasta there. You lean forward and peer over the edge of the counter, realizing what had shattered earlier.
âOh.â His dinner is splattered all over the floor, the bowl in a million pieces.
Rin stares down at it, too, and then he turns to your bowl, lifting it toward you with a shrug.
âWe can split this one.â He twirls some pasta around your fork and takes a bite. You watch him wince as he chews. He scowls slightly, setting the bowl back down. ââs cold.â
You let out a laugh, pulling him toward you and giggling when he swallows the food with a grimace.Â
âWe can just order takeout.â
He looks down at you, taking you in. Youâre still undressed, skin still flushed, eyes still hazy in your afterglow. And then he shakes his head.
âYeah, I donât think anythingâs gonna be open.â
You frown, glancing at the clock on the stove. âItâs only 7.â
âYeah. For now .â And then he lifts you, ignoring your protests as he walks the two of you down the hall to his bedroom. He throws you down on his bed carelessly and reaches to pull his shirt over his head.Â
You watch with wide eyes and a fresh sense of arousal when he drops to his knees in front of you and wraps his arms around your thighs, a smile tugging at his lips as he pulls you toward him impatiently.
âIâm not done yet."

part one part two part three part ???
leave me love?
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!
Looking back to it, everything happened so fast. As soon as your friends forced Sunaâs name out of your mouth after they found out youâre pregnant, they pulled all their connections to get the two of you to meet... Only for him to question the fatherhood of your child. Thatâs when you first met Osamu Miya. You did not know back then that he was Rintarouâs best friend and as devastated as you were, you spilled your problems to him.
Thatâs how you found yourself next in the most stressful weeks of your life. Mr. and Mrs. Suna telling you that you are to wed their son. Rintarou telling you that you should get an abortion. And several nosy people telling you that you are a whore who got herself pregnant to get into the rich Suna family.
You tried to refuse the marriage, telling the couple (who, unlike their son, were the sweetest people youâve met) that thereâs no need for a marriage, you just need support to raise your child. They of course wouldnât have it, and you knew itâs partly because they wanted to punish their son. You admittedly entertained the thoughts of getting an abortion but you just couldnât do it... not after watching your sister struggle with multiple miscarriages in the past. And with the people spreading malicious things about you... you tried to ignore them, until a few days before the marriage where the gossips suddenly stopped.
Marrying Suna Rintarou brought a lot of changes in your life. First of all, you had to forego the post-graduate internship that was offered to you at the end of your senior year. Second, you had to move to a house gifted by his parents, which caused a rift between you and your sisters since you initially promised them that youâd be living with and helping them. And lastly, you had to live with Rintarou, who explicitly lets you know that he blames you for the forced marriage.
Another surge of headache breaks you out of your reverie. You straighten on your seat in the hospital lobby, waiting for the doctorâs secretary to call you. You had dropped off the kids at Sachaâs place right after confirming with the receptionist that thereâs an available slot for a check-up. Last night, right after Rin left, you had a terrible headache, much the same as the ones youâve been having for the past few weeks.
You look at the queuing monitor and notice that there are still a handful of people before your turn. You open your bag to get your Kindle but it grazes the leather bind of your journal. You must have taken it with you when you took your reading device from the bedside drawer. And just as youâre always inclined to do, you flip to the already dog-eared pages and read through your journal entries from years ago. Itâs time to relive the memories.
You were in your fourteenth week of pregnancy. The new houseâs backyard was as empty as you felt for the last two months of living with your new husband. He would wake up early and arrive home late. Thankfully, you have managed to befriend the housekeepers, Yuto and Jiri. It was one evening, though, that neither of them was home since the former was on leave while the latter was sick.
The clock struck ten and the main door opened, revealing Rintarou who looked visibly unwell. You rushed to him and he tried to swat you away, only for you to feel how his skin was burning. He must have been feeling too sick because after two more attempts, he finally let you help him into his bed.
That night, you nursed him to the best of your abilities, from changing his clothes to wiping his face with cold cloth. You even cooked soup for him, feeding him as his hands were shaking too much. As you were about to leave his room so you could go back to the spare one where you have been staying since you two moved in, his rough voice stopped you. âStay.â
Your eyes widened, unsure if you heard him right. âAre you...?â
He groaned. âOr call Jiri. I need her.â
âSheâs sick,â you replied. âIâll just stay... if thatâs okay with you?â
He was quiet for a while. âOkay.â
That night, you ended up staying with Rintarou, sitting beside his bed and barely getting any sleep. It went on for two more days. When you woke up on the fourth morning, you were surprised to find a blanket on top of you, much less feel the softness of a mattress below you.
You jolted awake and was surprised to see Rintarou sitting up with his back leaning against the bedframe and talking to someone on the phone. âThanks, Kita. Yes, Iâm feeling better. Iâll be back in the office tomorrow.â He must have noticed you staring at him for he turned his head towards you, the look on his face unreadable. âCall me when something urgent comes up. I have to go.â After dropping the call, he moved to stand up.
âAre you okay?â You asked before you could stop yourself.
âWerenât you eavesdropping?â He shot back. âIâm feeling better. Jiriâs coming in today by the way, no need to make your pathetic attempts of forcing yourself into my business.â Suna didnât even spare you a glance before he marched off to his bathroom.
Despite the two months of living with him, his actions towards you still managed to hurt. You gulped and moved to stand up from the bed, knowing too well that Suna would want nothing but to see his room void of you once he comes back.
Two days later, you found yourself with a flu. You begged Jiri not to tell Suna or his parents. But alas, you should have known better that while she had become your friend, her loyalty was still with the Suna family.
On the third night of your flu, you heard a knock on your door. It was odd since it was way past Jiriâs and Yutoâs hours of duty. Sighing, you forced yourself from your bed, wrapping the fluffy blanket around your body.
I must be delirious, was your first thought as you saw Suna at the other side of the door.
âDid something happen?â You asked, trying to hold back a cough, hoping he wouldnât notice.
He looked every bit uncomfortable as he handed you a paper bag. âHere.â
You reluctantly received it and peeked inside. Care package. You looked up at him questioningly. âWhatâs this for?â
He broke the eye contact and mumbled something.
âSorry? What did you say?â
He let out an annoyed sigh and forced himself to look at you eye to eye. âJiri told me you were sick and that you probably got it from me. She scolded me that I shouldnât have asked you to stay in the same room because itâs risky for pregnant people.â His eyebrows furrowed. âWhat are you smiling about?â
âNothing,â you replied but you knew your smile was still on your face. âYou didnât have to go out of the way to give me this, you know.â
âThen what the fuck was I supposed to do? Jiri would have never let me hear the end of it.â
âHmm... could have just said âsorryâ, maybe?â
Suna rolled his eyes and opened his hand, palm up. âForget it, then. Give that back.â
You clutched the care package against your chest. âNo way! No taking back, this is mine already!â Before you knew it, a giggle escaped your lips. You immediately froze, realizing it was Suna you were talking to. However, when you dared to look at him, thereâs a barely noticeable hint of a smile on his lips, the atmosphere between the two of you warm. âGood night, Y/N.â
Itâs only when the sound of his footsteps have receded that you realized what happened: he just called you by your first name.
âMrs. Y/N Suna?â The secretaryâs voice brings you back to the present. âPlease enter room 125.â
You gather your things and make your way into your doctorâs office. She greets you with a warm smile. âHow are you doing, Y/N?â The doctor asks as soon as youâve settled down on your seat. âYou havenât visited in a while.â Megumi Hirai is a nice lady whoâs in her early forties and youâve taken a liking to her in the past few years. âI take it youâve been busy?â
You nod. âIt was the kidsâ birthday party yesterday. There was a lot of preparation that needed to be done.â
âOh, thatâs nice. How old are they now?â
âFive,â you smile proudly. âI feel like theyâre growing up too fast. I want them to stay little for just a little bit longer.â
At that, Dr. Hirai laughs. âEvery parent experience that. I see no reason for you to worry though, youâre still young. Isnât it about time that you and Rintarou try for another child?â
The smile on your lips drops a little. âWeâre too busy for that this time, I think.â
Sensing that you want to change the subject, Dr. Hirai moves on to another topic. âHowâs work going?â
âGreat,â you reply. âA bit stressful, but itâs all good.â Despite the Suna family saying thereâs no need for you to work, you still got yourself a job at a local publishing company. Youâve been loyal to it, and now youâre one of the head editors.
Youâve always been passionate about writing and editing; you could say you were depressed when you had to let go of the internship at the global publishing company because of the sudden pregnancy. The memories of you sharing that to Rin and him reluctantly helping you find a job poke at your head.
You will yourself to stay at the present. âIâm still happy with my job.â
âThatâs nice to hear.â Dr. Hirai smiles. âWhatâs your concern, then?â
âIâve been having these extreme headaches for the past few weeks. Sometimes they last long, sometimes they pass quickly. The other night, I think I passed out.â
The doctor hums. âAny other symptoms?â
âUm, I canât think of anyâŚâ
âHave you noticed any trend on the times when they surge?â
You shake your head no. âNot really. I honestly donât think itâs serious but theyâve been becoming more frequent lately.â
âOkay.â Dr. Hirai says, pulling out some papers. âIâll be requesting for you to undergo some tests. Have them done as soon as possible so you can schedule another checkup with me.â
âThank you, doctor.â You take the request forms.
âYouâre welcome,â Dr. Hirai smiles kindly. âAnd Mrs. Suna?â
âYes?â
âDonât downplay the headaches youâre experiencing. You never know if theyâre actually underlying symptoms of something serious. Have a nice day.â
 --------
âIâm sorry to be saying this, but you donât look too well.â Osamu Miya is placing the take-out rice balls you had just bought in the paper bags as he alternately looks between his task at hand and you, whoâs sitting at the counter.
You had decided to drop by his restaurant before picking up the kids from Sacha. His statement makes you bite your lip. âIs it that obvious?â
âThat you look like you had no sleep and cried your eyes out for hours?â Osamu asks in reply, then takes a deep breath. âYes.â The gray-haired man shakes his head. âRin is so fucking stupid. Iâm sorry.â
âYou donât have to apologize on behalf of him, Osamu,â you say. âHeâs your best friend but his actions are all his own choices.â
The twin keeps quiet for a while as he finishes packing your order. In the meantime, you rub your fingers against your temple, symptoms of a headache beginning to manifest again. You close your eyes, hoping it goes away. Once you open them, you see Osamu staring intently at you. âI have a confession to make,â he says.
This piques your interest and you lean a little bit forward. âWhat is it?â
âItâs all my fault,â Osamu says, gulping. âAfter that first night we met, I went to Rinâs parents and told them what happened. He initially confided in me that he got someone pregnant and I wasnât planning on getting involved until I met you. You were nice and kind, I couldnât let Rintarou to just fuck up your life.
âI thought once he gets married, once he gets to know you... heâd grow and change. But I was wrong.â His eyes are now filled with guilt and apology. âIâm sorry, Y/N. If I had known that Rin wouldnât change one bit during the past five years â â
âStop,â you cut him off, no longer wanting to hear more. âThatâs all in the past now.â You contemplate your next words carefully. âBesides, itâs not like Rin was completely horrible to me during the time weâve been together.â
Osamuâs voice is filled with curiosity. âWhat do you mean?â
Itâs at that exact moment that the door of the restaurant swings opens and someone enters, your heart dropping once you see who it is.
Suna Rintarou. Your husband.
 -------
Suna hasnât seen you since the night before and he definitely wasnât expecting to see you here at Osamuâs restaurant. Once you face him, he immediately notices the redness of your eyes that your makeup wasnât able to cover. He chooses not to think about the reason behind them.
âHey, Rin,â his friend waves at him from behind the counter. âY/N is here.â
He rolls his eyes as he stalks toward the counter. âIâm not blind, âSamu.â He takes the stool next to yours and immediately notices you tense. He inwardly sighs, remembering what happened last night. He turns to face you and gets a little surprised when he sees you gathering your purse and the paper bag from the counter.
âI have to go. Bye, Osamu! Thank you for these!â And in a moment, youâre out the door.
As soon as youâre gone, he feels his best friendâs curious eyes on him. âWhat? Gonna ask me to go run after her?â
Osamu rolls his eyes. âAs if you would.â
While his friend is right, the statement still annoys Suna. âWhy was she here, anyway?â
âAs if you care.â
He tries to mask his annoyance as he clenches his jaw. âYouâre, right. I donât.â
Thereâs a beat of silence before Osamu speaks again. âWhy are you here, Rin?â
Truth be told, Sunaâs agenda was to force Osamu to join him on a night of drinking where he may or may not tell him about what happened last night. But seeing you here... and then Osamuâs rather irritating replies... âForget it, Iâm leaving.â
âDid you and Y/N fight?â His friendâs question makes him stiffen.
Suna rolls his eyes. âWe often argue. You know that.â
âYeah,â Osamu replies rather curtly. âBut this time, it seems as if youâve crossed the line.â
To his own surprise, Suna replies with, âYeah, I think so.â
He doesnât need to look at his friendâs face to see the surprise on it. âWow, thatâs a lot... coming from you. What happened? Please donât tell me you hit her.â
He glares at the man. âIâm an asshole but I would never lay a hand on a woman, even if I hate her.â
âWhy do you hate her, Rin?â Osamu asks. âWhat has she ever done to you? You still have your job and inheritance; you can still fuck around... I know she doesnât demand much from you about the kids. In fact, she got the short end of the stick. Why do you hate Y/N?â
Instead of answering his friendâs questions, Rin adjusts his position on the stool and makes a fist against the counter. âShe confessed to me last night.â
âAnd what did you say?â Osamuâs voice begins to become unreadable.
âNothing.â
âNothing?â
Suna shrugs. âWe were having an argument so I figured she was just trying to fuck with my head.â
Thereâs a short silence that follows but itâs long enough to make him feel uncomfortable.
âAre you really that blind?â Suna prefers it if his best friend is shouting at him at the moment. But alas, Osamu sounds so calm and everyone knows that Osamu Miya is ten times scarier when heâs acting calm during moments that would call for him to be mad.
âWhat do you want to hear as my answer?â Does Osamu want him to admit that all these years, he thought your hurt towards his treatment was solely because you wanted to have a happy little family? That he didnât think you actually fell for him in those few months that you were in good terms? But, admitting those would mean he needs to tell Osamu about that time, those five months where he opened his heart to you. Those five months that he never dared tell anyone.
âJesus Fucking Christ, Suna!â Osamu slams a hand against the counter, anger and frustration evident in his voice. âAnyone with an eye can see that Y/N is in love with you! Though it remains a mystery to me how she managed to fall for a dickhead like you, itâs clear that she loves you!â
Other explicit things leave Osamuâs mouth and Suna just stays there and takes them all. Once his friend is only heaving deep breaths, he begins to talk. His turn. âYou asked why I hate her. Well, my answer is short.â He mentally sighs and, finally deciding itâs due time for Osamu to know, says the name that haunts him to this day.
Osamuâs eyes widen. âYou mean...?â
âYeah.â
He watches as a conflicted look dawns on his friendâs face. âDo you understand me now?â
âKind of.â His friendâs gaze hardens a bit. âBut you do know youâre being unfair to Y/N, right?â
Suna stands from the seat, retrieving the cigarette box from his pocket. âI know.â As he walks the short distance from Osamuâs restaurant to his car, all Suna can think about is, And I think maybe itâs about time I should apologize to her.
  ------
Youâre inside the bedroom, just finishing up changing the sheets. Ever since Jiri left three years ago and you and Rintarou never hired someone new, youâve been in charge of keeping the house tidy. In reality, you just had changed the sheets a week prior but what happened four nights ago just makes you want to change them, hoping that as they come clean, so does your relationship with Rintarou.
Itâs been three days since the fight and oddly enough, Rintarou comes home on time and even doesnât complain about sharing the bed. He barely acts as if you exist, cementing your belief that confessing to him was a totally wrong move. However, there are times when you feel him staring at you, as if he wants to tell you something...
You shake your head, reminding yourself that there are lots of things to do. First of all, the test results that you got yesterday after having the necessary check-ups from the day before. Second, the papers you have requested after a long call that you had last night.
Youâre too engrossed in your thoughts that you fail to notice that Rin has entered your room. Heâs wearing his work clothes which always make him look ten times more attractive. You straighten on the bed and try to look at his eyes. To your surprise, he meets your gaze. âWe need to talk.â You both say at the same time.
You bite your lower lip, and seeing as heâs not saying anything, you take it as a cue that heâs allowing you to speak first. So, with a deep breath, you say the words youâve been practicing in the shower this morning. âI want to file for divorce.â
TO BE CONTINUED.

GUYS I KIND OF LOVE SK8 THE INFINITY
[This ended up being kind of a review/discussion about the show so enjoy whatever the hell I'm talking about here.]
I binged the show this afternoon and.... wow.
I love the skateboarding sequences. The animation is so fluid and the skateboarding tricks they do are wild. I do not know the details of how animation works but I think it must have taken a lot of effort to make it look so good.
The plot is relatively simple in terms of the main skateboarding beefs/tournament (it even has a beach episode!) but it's effective because it feels more grounded. An underground skateboarding group with competitions could probably exist which is quite interesting.
It's the characters that really make this show. Reki and Langa and their dynamic, with its ups and downs, are so compelling, and Reki's issues with his own self-worth and skill are so human. Langa's growth in skill in skateboarding is so interesting to follow and his joy at the sport after his dad's death (and his previous passion for snowboarding) is reallly nicely done. Them becoming distanced and coming back together again because they realise that skateboarding is enjoyable due to each other is so sad but also beautiful when resolved. "Reki my love... of skateboarding" is maybe my second favourite dub line of the series.
Joe and Cherry (aka Matchablossom) have a great dynamic together, with their history with Adam is really interesting (speaking of that I'm convinced young Cherry had a crush on Adam, oh and Cherry should have kept that lip ring). I love a married-couple-style bickering duo with their endearing nature shining through in small moments and that's really sweet. Plus they act as mentors to the younger characters and that's really fun. Cherry relying on the calculations of his AI assistant vs Joe being more brute and somewhat reckless in his technique is quite an interesting comparison between the two and I appreciate their childhood best friends backstory.
Miya is also really great, and his struggles with balancing competitiveness and fun are compelling. The small parts we see of his backstory of him losing friends because he got successful is really interesting. Shadow is also really fun, at first a minor antagonist and eventually an ally. Him becoming a chaperone to these kids is really funny and his different presentations in and out of the skateboarding world is really cool.
Adam... where to start really. Well I was quite uncomfortable at some points with the way he acts towards Langa (a minor) and he's a bit... intense at points which I feel mixed on. That being said, his character is really really interesting - a politician with an outlet in an intense skateboarding persona and an abusive family makes for a very interesting antagonist and his ambitiousness and need to win as a driving force explains how he really pushes himself and the limits of skateboarding. His desire to find his 'eve' - someone that can truly match his skating - is really intriguing (I only wish he wasn't pursuing a 17-yr-old Langa for that considering it's romantic connotations). His dynamic with 'Snake' - his childhood friend turned secretary - is really interesting too (as is Snake's actions and motivations in general).
To me so many people in this show feel queer-coded. Joe Cherry and Adam are such a messy trio and it's kind of comical that Cherry could be seen to have had feelings for both of them. Reki and Langa are so awkward and they clearly like each other a lot in a way that feels romantic ("show her she's a lucky girl" kind of speaks for itself). Adam is Adam, I don't really have to say much else there tbh.
Also THE THEMES!!!! THE THEMES!!!! Loss, friendship, passion in your interests, the desire to have FUN rather than be competitive all the time, what an interest can mean to a person (which as an AuDHD individual is something I feel attached to in this show in particular), etc. It's really well done in this show and there is loads to talk about but they honestly deserve their own in depth posts (which I may do eventually you never know).
STUDIO BONES!!!! DROP SEASON 2 AND THE MATCHABLOSSOM OVA AND MY LIFE IS YOURSSS!!!!
I enjoyed the show a lot and it's a very fun and well made series despite its short runtime.
There's a lot that can be talked about but to put it simply, I am now a SK8 fan.

Doctor Hanahaki - The Memories that Never Return [4]
Doctor Hanahaki Prequel: Whumptober spinoff!
Whumptober day 4: "You in there?" and Lyric Prompt
~
I see the danger, it's written there in your eyes
Bokuto had recently declared his retirement because truth be told, he was getting old. Bokuto Koutarou, the star and former captain of the jackals was old, about 32, and getting slow. He couldn't jump as high, hit as hard, and run as much.
He had the discussion with the only person still in the industry, Kuroo Tetsurou. He was a few years older than Bokuto and despite their professional relationship, they had bonded really well as friends.
I think I should retire. Go out while I'm still at the top of my game, still a starter. Make it big, nobody cares if a sub is retiring.
You're one of the best players the court has ever seen, but in the end, it's your choice.
Bokuto stands on the sides of the greatest court in the world, watching the next generation of MSBY Jackals fighting for a spot in the play-offs, now 37.
Bokuto had retired, and a part of him was also sad his career ended without the one thing he truly wanted. Akaashi promised to be at his games, and it was selfish to be disappointed when he knows the other had made a career out of himself, but still. Bokuto could only watch from a distance as Akaashi surged to be one of the most famous doctors in the country. Bokuto watched his shows, watched the eyebags from restless nights grow under Akaashi's beautiful eyes, all from afar.
There was a promising next generation. In some of his last years, a new duo showed up. Miya Atsumu and Sakusa Kiyoomi, a setter and spiker who's skills rivaled his own. They were the perfect team, Bokuto was proud. Bokuto was-
In pain.
There was a sharp pain in his throat, as if thorns were stabbing his entire tract. He was standing on the sidelines as Miya hit a powerful spike into the opponent's territory. Kuroo was cheering from his position, his secretary taking notes as Kuroo narrated his own dialogue they would later publish for publicity purposes. "Kuroo, I'll be back-" Bokuto mumbled before immediately running out to find an empty bathroom or closet.
There was a private bathroom in the locker rooms, Bokuto running over to the toilet and heaving as petals and bile fell from his lips. Petals?
â"You're joking- no, you're kidding," Bokuto watched the petals float in the bowl as a wave of dizziness washed over him, him shaking it away as he slowly got up. "That... I-" Bokuto hated to admit it but he laughed at the reality of it.
Hanahaki.
"Hey! Bo? You in there?" It was Kuroo, knocking at the door. "They took a timeout, I figured I'd come and find you." Bokuto quickly flushed the water and any evidence of the petals before washing his hands, heading outside, eyes locking with Kuroo who eyed him in concern. "Yikes, you alright? You look like you've seen a ghost?"
Bokuto chuckled a bit, walking out onto the main stage with Kuroo. The teams were set up for another go after the timeout. "Is it obvious?"
"Yeah, it's all written in your eyes," Kuroo nodded, shooing off his secretary as he sat on the bench next to Bokuto. "But really, I've never seen you like this. Even when you fell on your ankle in your second year," they both looked back at the memories. "So... come on, Bokuto. What's wrong?"
"I was coughing petals."
"Shit... About that Akaashi guy?"
Bokuto nodded. In his eyes, fear... but peace.

CHAPTER 3 is up!
I also made some little character bios for the main cast and supporting OCs. The ages listed are accurate to the beginning of the story which is also the start of the school year.
Chinen Miya is 15, Class 1A: an excellent student, competes as a member of the National Skateboarding team, went to a private middle school and has no close friends.
Kyan Koyomi is 15, Class 1B: a good student, member of the Drama club, loves fashion and hanging out with her friends.
Kyan Reki is 16, Class 2C: an OK student but he's failing English. He's more popular with his classmates than he thinks but doesn't have any close friends. No clubs and he doesn't skateboard anymore.
Higa Hiromi is 17, Class 2B: An OK student but he is repeating year two due to fighting and truancy. Soccer club and unofficial member of the gardening club.
Sakurayashiki Kaoru is 17, Class 3A: former top student, former captain of the Kendo club. Current treasurer of the student council. Not currently in any school clubs but attending a programming and robotics course.
Hasegawa Langa is 17, Class 3A: pretty good student and star player on the soccer team. Visits Canada at least once a year, his dad travels a lot.
Shindo Ainosuke is 17, Class 3A: top student, President of the Student Council and the Drama Club. His family is notoriously wealthy and influential.
Nanjo Kojiro is 17, Class 3B: good student, popular and flirty ace of the Baseball team. He and Kaoru are childhood friends, but they aren't in the same class this year.

Oka Shokichi is 20: newly promoted manager at Dope Sketch.
Kamata Kiriko is 25: Homeroom teacher for class 2C. She coaches baseball and is very sick of high schoolers flirting with her.
Sonozaki Yosuke is 16, Rekiâs childhood best friend (yes I gave him the same name in âthere is no ifâ). He introduced Reki to skateboarding and they were inseparable as children. He was injured skating in their final year of middle school and Reki has not been in touch since he moved to the mainland before high school.
Kobayashi Rie is 15, Class 1A: an excellent student, junior member of the student council. She has been best friends with Koyomi since they were babies because their moms are good friends.
Fujiwara Kiyu is 15, Class 2C: a good student and junior member of the baseball team. He likes video games, singing and is learning to play guitar. One of the youngest in his class and a relative of Chinen Miya.
Uehara Takashi is 16, Class 2C: top student, member of the literary club and plays piano. He is serious and sincere. He and his twin have been chosen as class representatives, ignoring the one boy, one girl rule, since they were ten years old.
Uehara Ritsu is 16, Class 2C: an ok student and junior member of the baseball team. He dreams of forming a band with Tadashi and Kiyu but he hasn't found an instrument he's any good at.

Almost ready for Kojiro and Kaoru's Wedding (July 8th until July 9th 2021)
čŤă¨č揥éăŽçľĺŠ ă¨ăŤăźăŠ
Kaoru and Kojiro's wedding invitation and Carla.
đŻđ¸
Art and invitation made by @lea-heartscxiv
It was our first time doing a wedding to publish it with everyone, for that reason it may seem a bit "rough".
Talking with Carla about how to tell his mother that wants to marry his childhood friend.
They have the desire to get married, they've talked to their fathers and mothers. And they say are going ahead with the wedding even if they have to keep it a secret. Translation of images: Marry Kojiro/Kaoru (For being close to a romance) Click on Kojiro/Kaoru and select Marry in the list of romantic interactions.
As time passed, Kojiro and Kaoru's wedding was only one day away. And while they were waiting, Reki and Langa start making romantic interactions, in the middle of the hallway.
And then they started to do their homework.
After seeing that being in the hallway might be uncomfortable for people who wanted to get to the other side, they went to the closest room they had. You can see which room they are in, can't you? Yes, in Ainosuke and Tadashi's room, where Tadashi is sleeping peacefully. Could we call it the homework room? Even Miya has joined in.
But seeing that they might wake up Tadashi, who normally couldn't get much rest because of the job he has as Shindo-sama's secretary and in S, they decided to go back to the hallway and again close the way.
Kojiro comes to say something secretly to Ainosuke, and the guys are still in the middle of the hallway doing homework and talking.
Ainosuke finally decides to help with homeworks so that the guys can go out of the hallway, let him pass to the other side of the house.
Once Langa finished his homework, he went to watch TV instead of going to sleep...
The secret he had told Ainosuke was that he made his wedding cake. Yes, Kojiro made his wedding cake, to have it all ready for tomorrow.
The next publication you all are invited to Kaoru, Kojiro and Carla's wedding! đ¤ľđ¤ľÂŠď¸
LOVE AGAIN! đ

â I remember everyone that leaves. â from miya (hello darkness my old friend)
from lilo & stitch quote starter prompts
He watches the way Miya holds the photograph. Despite having clearly been crumpled once, it seems to be something important, or at least sentimental. Perhaps painfully sentimental, given the look on Miyaâs face.
Tadashi is rather out of practice when it comes to interacting with children. Will it seem condescending if he crouches down to speak at Miyaâs eye-level, or will remaining at his full height make him seem like an uncaring adult? A conundrumâŚ
âChinen-kunâŚâ How best can he offer comfort, without stepping out of line as someone who may be little more than The Demon Lordâs Underling in Miyaâs mind? After enough deliberation, he realizes that he may have experience with the emotion with which Miya is grappling.
âIt is difficult⌠to lose someone close to you. Even more so if you lose them, but they are still there around you.â Cautiously, he places a consoling hand on Miyaâs shoulder. âBut, so long as that person is still here in the world, there is the possibility that what ended can begin anew.â He is living proof of that, after what he and Ainosuke had gone through. âIt can be difficult to open yourself up again after being hurt⌠but I know you are not one to back away from a challenge, Chinen-kun.â

Heyy! Can you do one where Osamu, kuroo, akaashi and Tsukishima, say something mean to their s/o and their s/o avoids them for days? When they finally get ahold of their s/o, their s/o just sorta cries because it hit their insecure spot? Fluff in the endđĽş
Listen, I canât not write this.Â
Irrevocable Words.Â
- the one in which they accidentally make you give them the silent treatment because of their lashing out. -
~ Osamu Miya, Kuroo Tetsurou, Akaashi Keiji, and Tsukishima Kei~Â
TW: Cursing, angst to fluff, timeskip! for Osamu,Â
------------------
Osamu Miya
âThose are important files, ya know?âÂ
âSamu, Iâm sorry. You shouldâve told me you needed last monthâs earnings and I wouldâve looked for them before we came this morning.â The hand you tried to settle onto Osamuâs bicep was shaken off as your movements faltered.Â
Your voice wobbled at the sight of your stoic fiance, an annoyed glint in his eye as he rummages through his files. Osamu felt a flare in his stomach, a lack of sleep contributing to his impatient state. The day had been a busy one, Osamu deciding that he needed this particular file for his business call tomorrow before the two of you headed home for the night.Â
âI told ya not to move anything back to the place.â
âI didnât.â You bit the inside of your cheek. âHere, just let me help-âÂ
âDonât touch a goddamn thing, Iâll do it myself.â There it was. The lashing out that was bound to happen occurred with a pointed tongue as he refused to look at you, rummaging through his file cabinets. âAs I do everything else.âÂ
He closes the cabinet sharply. âThe least ya could do is try your best not to be a nuisance-âÂ
Osamu flinches at the slam of one of the office desk drawers, chest sinking when he sees the tears threatening to spill from your eyes. The paper he needed is thrown on the desk carelessly as you shove your jacket on, wetness slipping down your cheeks.
âAnd Iâm not your goddamn secretary. Iâm heading home first.âÂ
âY/N-âÂ
âAnd donât worry, I promise Iâll manage to do this by myself somehow.â Your voice cracks bitterly, the bell by the door jingling mockingly in Osamuâs ears as you exit, the chef hanging his head with a sigh and regret tinging his chest.
He was wrong to pray this would blow over, not expecting to wake without your warmth by his side. You avoided him on the way to the restaurant, cleaning quietly while giving vague answers to his questions, shifting out of his attempts to embrace you with apologies.Â
Deciding to give you space, he softly tells you to take the next few days off, unprepared for the tired look you had given him, simply nodding in response as you slipped into your side of the bed with your back turned to him.
âWhereâs your pretty girlfriend?âÂ
âFiance.â Osamu forces a smile at his two elderly regulars two days later, the wifeâs smile widening at his correction.Â
âOho! Cherish each other while you youths still can, she really does brighten this place up, doesnât she?âÂ
You do.
Osamuâs eyes feel hot as he does a messy job of cleaning up the restaurant, closing up shop early and stopping by your favorite bakery to pick up the ridiculously expensive cake he only ever buys for your birthday.Â
Throwing the door open to your shared apartment hastily, you gasp at the gray-haired manâs sudden entry, dropping the spoon you were about to use to taste the dish you were making on the stove.
âSamu, y-youâre home early-âÂ
âWhatâs all this?â He tries to steady his breaths at the sight of a nicely prepared table, something you hardly ever got to share ever since the night shifts overtook your lives and caused a rift between the two of you.Â
Youâre silent for a second, looking away from his warm stare as you shift under his gaze.Â
â...I miss you.â Dark eyes widen when you begin to hiccup over your words, tears threatening to spill down your cheeks. âBut I didnât wanna be a nusciance-â
âOh god, darlinâ no.â Youâre pulled tightly into his chest as you cry, whole body shaking with tremors as Osamuâs inner turmoil merely increases.
If Osamu could go back in time and punch himself he would, unknowing of the torment he caused you over the past few days, thinking you just needed space.Â
âI want to marry ya Y/N, Iâm so sorry.âÂ
âI love you so much Samu.â You sniffle into his chest, causing him to smile softly, a hand sifting through your hair to hold you tighter to him.Â
âI brought cake.âÂ
You laugh through the onslaught of tears.Â
âAnd I made dinner.âÂ
âThen what are we waitinâ for?âÂ
âJust hold me like this for awhile?â
âY/N.â He kisses the top of your head, finally feeling at ease with your figure in his arms. Osamu whispers a confession he hardly shared with you, wanting those words in particular to be special as he bridged the gap between the two of you.
âI love ya so much more, donât you go forgettinâ it.â
Kuroo Tetsurou
âI said I was sorry!âÂ
âIs sorry supposed to just fix everything, Tetsurou?âÂ
âTetsurou? Are you seriously withholding me from my nickname privileges?âÂ
You cross your arms at his attempt to make you laugh, thoroughly angry with the mess your boyfriend made of things as his smile fades at your peeved stare.Â
âLook, what was I supposed to do?âÂ
âHow about not leaving my parents waiting for you at the restaurant that you invited them to for another one of your spontaneous volleyball practices?âÂ
âI texted you I had to cancel!âÂ
âThat was a half hour before we were supposed to meet, Kuroo! They were so excited to meet you they got there early. God, why canât you ever take things seriously?âÂ
âYouâre right.â A bitter chuckle slips Kurooâs lips as you falter at the sudden tone change, the volleyball gym seeming bigger than ever as his next sentence makes your lips tremble.
âSince I canât ever take things seriously, then I must not need my serious girlfriend then, right?â Your eyes widen. âI can just find somebody else who wonât fucking hound me all the time.â
His cat-like eyes widen as the words slip his tongue, unintentionally coming out crueler than he intended. To make it worse, you simply stayed silent, your body physically backing down and away from him as you turned on your heel.Â
âWait, I didnât-âÂ
âDo it then.â His chest just about shatters as your shoulders tremble, refusing to turn back around as your voice takes on an uncharasterically defeated tone. âI hope they make you fucking happy.âÂ
Kuroo runs a hand through his raven hair frustratedly at the way you rushed out of the gym, throwing a stray ball so hard at the wall before his vision becomes skewed with heat.Â
He should have expected the next week to be utter hell. You left class before he could catch you by escaping to the bathroom with all your things, leaving school another way instead of the exit you always took together before he had to start club activities.Â
âKenma, what are you doing?âÂ
âYou canât come in here.âÂ
âIâm missing class for this. Let me through.âÂ
âShe doesnât want to see you.â Kenma shrugged, eyes on his handheld. âI told her Iâd watch the door so you canât surprise her during our breaktime.âÂ
âIâm her boyfriend. And youâre not her guarddog.âÂ
âNo, Iâm her friend.â Kenmaâs eyes narrow at his childhood friend. âAnd last time I checked, youâre on the search for someone who isnât her.âÂ
âSo she told you.âÂ
âDick move, by the way.âÂ
Kurooâs calls go straight to voicemail, his emotions affecting his playing with each passing day. He leaves little notes in your shoe locker to meet him, heart sinking more and more with every time you stood him up.Â
And it wasnât until he saw you smiling again at a joke Yaku made that he truly felt like he was losing you.Â
âGo home.âÂ
The sight wasnât one you were expecting to see, Kuroo sitting on the steps to your house with his hands shoved deep in his jacket pockets, the dark bags under his eyes sparking worry within you.Â
âItâs probably better if my parents donât see you-âÂ
âIâm sorry.â His eyes seem to have lost a little of their glint, regret swimming in the tall boyâs pupils as your guard softens. âIâm so goddamn sorry I ran my mouth and said shit I didnât even mean-âÂ
âTetsurou-âÂ
âAnd I hurt you in the process. I hurt the one thing that matters to me the most, and Iâm sitting here playing the creepy ex that stalks the girl he loves-âÂ
âYou love me?â
âDoesnât matter, does it? Youâre done with me, and I deserve it-âÂ
Heâs cut off with the sight of tears hitting the wood in front of him, lifting his head to see tears streaking down your cheeks. On instinct, he reaches out softly, rising to his feet to cup your cheek, astonished when you curl into his touch.Â
âIâm so fucking mad at you right now.âÂ
âNoted.â Kuroo laughs somberly, a wave of emotion hitting him as you do something you hadnât done in days.Â
You look him in the eye, tugging him closer by the sides of his jacket.Â
âBut I love you too, you absolute idiot.âÂ
Kuroo grins into the kiss you press onto his lips, heart lifting in weight as he pulls you closer.Â
âDoes this mean we can go back to Tetsu?âÂ
âIâm going back to ignoring you-âÂ
âNo.â Kurooâs tone turns serious as he holds you a little tighter. âI canât do that again.âÂ
You smile as he presses a kiss to your temple lovingly.Â
âBeing away from you was complete and utter hell, sweetheart.âÂ
Akaashi Keiji
âTell me how to make this right.â
âRight, Y/N.â Akaashi refused to meet your eyes as he loosens his school tie, not slowing his pace for you to catch up with as he throws the doors open to the volleyball club. The usually put-together setter had an angry glint in his eye that silenced his awaiting teammates. âLetâs just go back in time before you agreed to be his partner.â
âHey hey, whatâs going on you two?â Bokuto jogs up, his worried tone making your lips tremble even more at the sight of Akaashiâs turned back.
âI came to you as soon as he made a move! I didnât let him-â
âThere shouldnât have been an opportunity for him to make a move in the first place.â Akaashiâs jaw clenched as you shuffle in place.
âI didnât do anything wrong, you think I wanted him to try to kiss me?!â You fight the waver in your voice, standing your ground. âIt was a project for class. I didnât know his intentions-â
âI told you what his intentions were, but you never listen.â Akaashi turns hastily, startling you and causing you to stumble slightly backwards into Bokuto.
âAkaashi-â
âStop defending her. She never listens to me, and then comes crying to me when it turns out Iâm right.â Akaashi snips at his best friend, ignoring the silent stares from his quiet teammates. âWhy canât you get it through your head, Y/N? Iâm not your goddamn babysitter-â
âYouâre right.â You interrupt, fingernails biting into your palms as you choke back a sob. âYouâre not, youâre my boyfriend. I just wanted to respect you by coming to you with something like this, but it turns out Iâm just a hinderance.â
Akaashi falters for a second, blue eyes widening a fraction at the angry heat that fills your eyes as regret begins to bubble in his stomach at his harsh words.
âY/N-â
âGive me some space, Keiji.â You say softly, patting Bokutoâs arm to let you through as your shoulders sink in a defeated manner. âI promise I wonât come crying to you about anything else.â
Your steps echo as you walk out of the gym, Konoha breaking the silence first when the door shuts behind you.
âHate to say it, but that was well-deserved, man.â
Akaashi closes his eyes, head falling back towards the ceiling as he tries to steady his breathing, pretending like he wasnât scared of you slipping through his fingers. He willed himself to not allow himself to chase after you, his anger directed towards you fading as he forces himself to respect your wishes.Â
It was obvious you were avoiding him. Akaashi had blinked when Bokuto had self-proclaimed that he needed you as his âstudy buddyâ during breaks when you werenât even in the same year as the owlish boy. It got worse when you seemed to panic when Akaashi willed you to talk to him, eyes refusing to meet his watery blue ones as you pushed him further away.
So he gave you your space, wilting with each passing day. It wasnât until he accidentally bumped into you a week later, the setter turning hastily on his heel to walk in the opposite direction before a soft tug on the back of his school shirt wills him to stop.Â
âKeiji.â Your wobbly voice makes him turn back around immediately, a soft palm already cupping your cheek gently. âIâm s-âÂ
âIâm sorry for being cruel.â The words are whispered against your forehead, Akaashiâs heartstrings tugging in the worst way possible. âI was angry at the situation, my love. And that sorry excuse you call a classmate. Please,âÂ
His grip tightens just a little more as he feels wet warmth drip into the palm that was cupping your face.
âForgive me.âÂ
âI told you I wouldnât come crying to you-âÂ
âI want it all, Y/N.â Akaashi pulls back slightly, voice cracking slightly as blue stares intensely into your irises. âI want all of you. Tears included.â
You swat his chest playfully as Akaashi manages a soft smile, hand threaded through your hair as he presses you against his chest.
âDo you still need space?â He murmurs, and you smile at the sound of his hearbeat picking up as he awaited your answer fearfully.Â
âNope. The exact opposite, please hold me?âÂ
His embrace relaxes immediately, and your heart skips a beat at the sound of his relieved sigh, his slight nod making the weight lift off your chest.Â
âGood, now I can take care of your classmate-âÂ
âKeiji-â
âNope, my love.â He tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, Akaashiâs eyes swirling with devotion.Â
âNo one gets to try anything with you so long as youâre safe with me.âÂ
Tsukishima KeiÂ
âSo Iâm the bad guy again.âÂ
âDo you want the honest answer, Kei?â You exhaustedly run a hand through your hair as Tsukishimaâs scowl deepens, his long legs easily catching up with you in stride as he tugs on your wrist as the rambunctious court gets further and further away.Â
âItâs not my fault youâre insecure.âÂ
You flinch. âWell maybe you shouldnât let the girls in the stands cling to you after your matches. They were all over you, Tsukki! And you didnât seem to mind it one bit.âÂ
âWhat?â Annoyance brims the blondeâs voice as he takes another step forward, clenching his jaw when he sees the quiver in your lip, distrust filling the atmosphere between the two of you.Â
âAfraid that theyâre prettier or better than youâll ever be?âÂ
You feel as if the wind was knocked out of your lungs, breath catching in your throat at his insinuation. His guard slackens almost immediately, clicking his tongue before turning away, too proud to apologize for the words he regretted as soon as they slipped his tongue like venom.Â
âYeah.â You laugh humorlessly, making brown eyes dart over to your expression immediately. âYouâre 100% correct. I am afraid youâll find someone better than me in all aspects. Because I love you, you absolute asshole. Is that what you wanted to hear?âÂ
The silence that befalls the two of you in the deserted hall is broken when you flinch away when Tsukishima tries to take a step towards you.Â
âI didnât-âÂ
âYou never mean to do anything, Kei.â You say in a hushed tone, turning your back on him in an attempt to shield the hot tears slipping down your cheeks. âBut you somehow always manage to.âÂ
The win for Karasuno didnât mean much to the blonde that night, hoping that this would just go away and things would be back to normal. However, it was anything but. You didnât look his way once in class, disappearing when it was over. Your voice trembled as you had avoided his seemingly stoic eyes through his frames, simply stating that you wished for some time away from him.Â
He was fine. Or at least pretending to be on the outside. In truth, he would never find better, because you were it for him, words that you would never catch slipping his mouth. So he put on a front, pretending that your absence had zero effect on him whatsoever. Pretending the brush of your body against him in the hall as you pass each other didnât make the blonde want to cave.Â
It was the smile you shot at Hinata during one of your breaks that caused him to. The first glint in your eye in awhile, and it had been caused by him of all people, prompting the tall middle blocker to tug you by the forearm into the corridor.
âTsukishima-âÂ
âI hate this.âÂ
You falter for a second, guard back up in a flash as your back touches the wall. âWhat did I do?âÂ
âYou didnât do anything, and itâs pissing me off.âÂ
âI donât follow-âÂ
âI was wrong.â His forehead touches your shoulder as you stiffen before relaxing against his familiar touch. âI donât care how many times I have to apologize. You win, okay? Iâm sorry.âÂ
âThis is a rather aggressive apology-âÂ
âY/N.â Tsukishima lifts his head so itâs level with your height, unprepared for the way tears brimmed your eyes at the proximity, your guard diminishing.Â
âWhat if you do find someone better one day, Tsukki?â Your voice cracks, inner fears trickling to the surface. âDo I need to prepare myself to lose you-?âÂ
You gasp as Tsukishimaâs jaw ticks before kissing you intensely, his hand touching your lower back to pull you closer.Â
âNo. You donât need to do something stupid like that.â His eyes were slightly glaring at you, a flush across both his cheeks. âBecause there is no one better than you, okay?âÂ
It was your turn for heat to flood your cheeks as your eyes widen a fraction, his breath tickling your ear as you stutter. âKei-âÂ
âI love you too. I said it, are you satisfied now?â Â

Tetsuro Kuroo
𧪠Tetsu fell in love too easily, that was how he ended up with a daughter and no mother in sight, that never bothered you though, the day that he expressed interest in you, you were more than willing to run with it. 𧪠Tetsu worked a lot, he had to if he wanted to support his Tomoe that unfortunately meant that for a long time there were things that went unnoticed, now that you were there that was less likely. 𧪠You knew that there was something going on the moment you saw the girl but you had to earn her trust before you could ever find that out but you were getting there. 𧪠It all came to a head when you went to pick up one day, you tried to deescalate the situation but that got you an elbow to the nose.
âDad I messed up, Mumâs hurt!â Tomoe said not even giving Kuroo the chance to even greet her. âWhat do you mean?â He asked, expecting her to make a joke. âSheâs bleeding.â Tomoe answered. âTetsu Iâm fine, Iâm just going to have to leave the car at the school and pick it up in the morning when I drop her off.â You explained. âYou canât drive!? He asked standing from his seat at the desk writing a note and putting it on his secretaryâs desk before rushing out of the building. âWhere are you?â âWeâre at school.â Tomoe answered. âItâs just a nosebleed, Kuroo this really isnât necessary.â You informed him as you tipped your head back to try and control the bleeding. âBabe Iâm coming to get you both just wait there okay?â He ordered. âAlright weâll stay put.â You sighed, closing the door and handing the phone cable to Tomoe. âYou might as well put on some pusic itâll take him some time to get here.â
After about 10 minutes there was a soft knock on the window, you pushed the door open and Tetsu crouched so that he could see your face âHere.â He said softly, handing you a packet of wet wipes, you carefully cleaned your face as he turned to Tomoe âwhat happened?â âI elbowed her in the face, I didnât mean to.â She answered honestly. âIt was a little misunderstanding, she ended up in a little fight, I was just splitting them up and got hit, she never meant to hit me.â You explained as you flinched while cleaning the last of the blood from your nose. âI hope you won.â Tetsu gestured for everyone to shuffle so that he could climb into the driver's seat. âShe definitely won.â You smirked as he started the car. âGood.â He nodded as he leaned over and pressed a kiss to your cheek and started the car.
Later that evening after Tetsu went to go and pick up his car (that he had left at work) you were both lying in bed âAre you sure that you're okay?â He asked. âHmm? Oh yeah I promise Iâm just glad that she didnât get hurt.â You answered. âYou are perfect.â He mumbled pulling you in tighter and pressing his face into your shoulder âYeah well you're taking her to school tomorrow, in case the kidâs waiting for her, I have a feeling this is more than just one fight.â You explained. âWhat makes you say that?â He asked. âSomething has been going on with her, she doesnât talk about it but thereâs something.â You answered. âSo fix it.â âSure thing kitten.â He said softly ânow get some rest.â
Kozume Kenma
đŽ Kenma still had a good friendship with his ex mostly because of his son, he wouldn't have tried so if Kousuke wasnât born. đŽ The fact that he had such a good friendship with his ex confused his son. He didnât really care what his parents did as long as they were happy but he didnât understand why they couldnât be together if they were such good friends. đŽ However the problem came when he started speaking to people online and they started telling him what they thought was going on. đŽ He believed them and things started to escalate from there, you were losing control of the teen, even Kenma was noticing the changes between streaming and running his own business.
You walked into the living room where Kousuke was playing a game âhey itâs time to eat, will you come into the kitchen please?â You asked. âYeah I'll be there in a minute.â He waved you off, you disappeared for 5 minutes before you walked back in. âKousukeâŚâ You called but he didnât answer, you walked over to the plug socket and unplugged the games console. âWhat the fuck!?â He shouted. âFirst quiet your Dad is in a meeting and second language.â You warned him. âI donât have to listen to you!â He shouted standing from his seat on the sofa. âKo.â You warned again, frowning over your face. âDonât call me that, you're just here to cook, clean and occupy Dadâs bed, you really think he loves you, with the way that Mum and him get alone you canât think thatâs true.â Kousuke laughed, he was now crowding you, there was no space to step away from him, you were about to talk but someone else did first. âKousuke go and pack some things you're going to stay at your motherâs.â Kenmaâs voice silenced his son, a sound similar to a growl emitted from the teen before he went up to his bedroom. âDid we ruin your meeting?â You asked. âThat doesnât matter.â Kenma said as he walked over, taking your face in his hands âIâm going to take him to his motherâs house and then weâre going to talk.â ââZume Iâm fine.â You said. âWell thereâs something that I want to say to you so wait for me okay?â He asked. âAlright.â You nodded, you walked into the kitchen putting Kousukeâs food into a container and walked out to the front door. ââZume!â You called and he looked back at you as you held out the container âI cooked his favorite as least Aiko wonât have to cook for him when he gets there.â
Kenma walked back over to the car and leaned in âyour dinner.â He said the tone clipped as Kousuke took the container. âShe still gave me this?â He asked and Kenma nodded as he started the car âI didnât mean anything that I said.â âDoesnât matter if you meant it, the damage is done.â Kenma mumbled as they pulled out of the drive. âYouâll stay with your mother for a couple of days and then weâll talk about what happens next.â âWhat does that mean?â Kousuke asked. âI wonât come back?â â(Y/N)âll never let that happen, sheâs too good for that.â Kenma answered.
When Kenma got home, he found you cleaning in the kitchen, he walked up behind you and took the cloth out of your hand putting it to the side before guiding you into the living room before pulling you to sit on his lap. âYou know it doesnât matter what he says, I love you.â Kenma promised. âI know, Iâm okay I promise.â You smiled but he could see that something was bothering you and if it wasnât what he said then what was it? âWhatâs bothering you then?â He asked. âDoes Kousuke not like me? I thought that we got on quite well in the beginning but if he doesnât like me I can leave.â You said in a small voice, you didnât want to leave, you loved living with him, you loved his son, you loved popping in to give him things during the stream but most importantly you loved having a family. âWhat? No. Iâm not letting you leave.â Kenma frowned. âHe told me that he didnât mean anything that he said, Iâm going to talk to him tomorrow about everything but tonight is your night.â âMine?â You asked as you looked at him with a small smile on your face as you realized that everything should work out. âMmhm.â He hummed, pressed a kiss to your cheek, smiling as excitement took over and you bounced on his lap leaning over to grab the control before turning yourself so that you could see the TV as Kenma changed to a more comfortable position waiting for you to pick what you do next.

MONOCHROME // profiles: MOA PRODUCTION
prev / masterlist / next
synopsis: ever since he was born, soobin had psychic empathy powers. he has the ability to read, manipulate and absorb other peopleâs emotions as his own based on the colors of their auras. but what happens when he meets y/n, whoâs emotions he cannot read, manipulate or even take from at all?
soobin: the ceo the face the big guy of moa production! heâs good at securing deals because of his power to read peopleâs emotions so he definitely uses it to his advantage. for example, if someone is angry he can manipulate and take their emotion away from them so the other isnât angry anymore, but as a consequence- he is angry himself (he barely does this, it never turns out well). he can also read what other people are feeling (he does this a lot, it works great for him).
yeonjun: vice president of moa production. he is soobinâs bff since high school and is aware of soobinâs abilities. he definitely uses it to secure his own deals as well (he clearly cannot live without him they are attached at the hip)
beomgyu: in charge of overlooking the finances of the company. also soobin and yeonjunâs friend since high school and knows soobins abilities. because he is in charge of money he definitely scares soobin with it somehow
taehyun: soobinâs secretary and also aware of soobinâs abilities. soobin is scared of him because somehow taehyun manages to keep the same emotion and has not changed ever since he hired him
hueningkai: the new intern in the office that always seem to cause trouble. and before kai couldnreport it to soobin, soobin always catches it before his confession (because of his abilities) this makes kai very wary of everyone in the office. yes, he is the only person who doesnât know soobinâs psychic empathy powers

Chapter Twelve: Embarrassed
Mentions of: Flirting, Flirting, and more Flirting, Humiliation, Embarrassment and lots of cute stuff
A/N: Hereâs a lil cute chapter for yâall before things start getting intense
Tags: @froegis @dekadentautist @dead-bxxxtch-walking @moonshineinasippycup @mama-miya @stwbwwychan @the-fandoms-georgie
Itâs been a long day, and you would like nothing more than to curl up in bed and get some sleep. Unfortunately, you had a whole shift ahead of you, which you were dreading.
Itâs not like you didnât enjoy working there, because you did. You enjoyed working there more than you enjoyed working for the Gazette. But thatâs probably because of how shorter the shifts are, and that youâre not working as a secretary to a bunch of snobbish assholes.
And yeah, you did have some friends at the Gazette, but at Mama Lucyâs, you were closer with a lot of the workers. Some of them even felt like family.
Lucia would be your mother, obviously, and sometimes you even addressed her as your work mom. She didnât take to the name too kindly, saying she already had enough kids to worry about on her own, but you knew deep down she didnât mind.
Then, Nate would be your little brother, and so would Jesse. Or maybe he would be that cute boy next door? You donât know. You had mixed feelings about him, and couldnât decide if you should see him as a brother/friend or something more than that.
So yes, you did like working at Mama Lucyâs. The problem was showing up after the long days of work, and feeling exhausted like you do now.
âEvening, _____. Howâre you holding up?â Jesse greeted brightly. You grumbled how you were tired in response, rubbing your eyes, and leaning against the wall.
âItâs one of those days huh?â He asked, to which you nodded with a grin. âWell, I got just the thing. I made you some coffee from the maker in the kitchen, just the way you like it.â
He handed you the mug which was still steaming. You blew on it, taking a small sip, before taking a longer one. You sighed, grinning at him. âThanks, kid.â
Taking another sip of your coffee, you glanced around the restaurant, looking around to see what you would be dealing with tonight. It was pretty busy, with multiple different families and groups sitting at the tables, and even a few couples there as well.
But then, you saw- oh shit.
For a second, you thought you were dreaming, or that you were so tired that you were hallucinating. But no, this was real, painfully real. Jed, as in your hot coworker and friend Jed, was getting seated.
Shocked, you spat out your coffee all over Jesse, coughing and sputtering. â_____, what the hell-â
âShut up, shut up.â You hissed, grabbing him by the collar, and pulling him into the hallway which had all the condiments, napkin dispensers, and seasonings.
âOkay, donât be obvious, but look to your right. Do you see that guy with brown hair and glasses?â You refused to look as you grabbed some napkins, placing your mug down on the table beside you.
âUh, yeah?â He asked cluelessly. âWell, heâs one of my coworkers and I canât have him seeing me right now.â
âWhat? Why? Whatâs the big deal? Is he some big shot or something?â He questioned, and you gritted your teeth, patting down the stains on his shirt with a napkin, and handing him some as well.
âSomething like that, and heâs my friend too, and I just donât want him knowing that I work here. Iâd die of embarrassment.â You confessed.
He gave you a skeptical look, before it changed to something smug, a big smirk crossing his lips. âYou like him, donât you?â
âThis isnât eighth grade, and no, I donât. That would be incredibly unprofessional, and just-â
âBullshit. It would be unprofessional if you acted on those feelings in some inappropriate way, but thereâs nothing wrong with liking your coworkers.â He remarked with a grin, and you rolled your eyes.
âShut up.â Before you two could continue your banter, Lucia walked over, interrupting you. âWe need servers over at tables 2,7,9, and 6, 3, and 4. Quit flirting or whatever it is youâre doing and get to work.â
âYes maâam.â Jesse nodded, making you roll your eyes and snicker. What a kiss ass.
âThereâs no way I can face him. Can you please cover his table for me? Please?â You begged, and he sighed. âFine, but you owe me money for dry cleaning, thanks to the mess you made on my uniform.â
âI know, I know, Iâm sorry. Iâll pay you back later. Thanks, Jesse, youâre a real sweetheart and a lifesaver.â You told him, pressing a kiss on his cheek and walking out to the kitchen.
âI know!â He called after you, before rubbing his cheek where you had kissed him, grinning to himself. He paused to bask in the moment, before getting back to work.
â
For a while, you completely forgot that Jed was there, too distracted by working the tables and making sure everything was good enough for a nice tip. But then, you were helping clean up another table when you heard a familiar voice.
â_____? You work here?â
Shit. Fuck. Motherfucker.
Wishing you could take a swan dive off the roof of this shitty restaurant, you took a deep breath, turning around to face him. âOh hey, Jed. Itâs nice to see you, and yeah, I work here.â
All you wanted to do was shrivel up into a ball and die. This is like when you see your teacher in the grocery store, except your teacher is dead broke and has to work as a cashier to make enough to get by.
At least itâs Jed and not some other coworker. Lord knows what those condescending assholes would say if they found you here.
âYou look nice.â He complimented, feebly trying to make conversation with you. âYeah, Iâm sure I do. I guess I really pull the waitress look off, huh?â
âOh, Iâm sorry, I must sound like a real dick right now-â
âNo, no, itâs fine, Iâm just messing with you. How is everything? Is the food good?â You asked, noticing your boss watching you from the corner of your eye. Might as well try to make it seem like you were working.
âItâs great, thanks. Sorry if Iâm prying, but, why are you working here? I mean, I know youâre a temp, but the Gazette makes enough to pay almost all of its employees suitably.â Jed wondered out loud.
âNope, I donât. But this job gives me enough to just get by.â You admit, trying to ignore the red hot feeling of shame running through you. For all the shit you deal with, you know you should be paid more, and itâs annoying that you donât. âThatâs fucked up, Iâm sorry.â
âYeah, itâs whatever. Iâll be fine. But do me a favor and donât tell anyone you saw me working here. Everyone already thinks Iâm some airhead receptionist, the last thing I want is for them to find out about this too.â
âYou have nothing to be embarrassed about. If anything, Iâm the one who should be embarrassed. I mean, Iâm eating dinner here all by myself.â He remarked, making you laugh.
âOkay, you donât tell anyone Iâm working here, and I wonât tell anyone I saw you, deal?â
âDeal.â
Looking over your shoulder, you spotted your boss waiting for you, and Jesse standing with her, making kissy faces at you. If Jed wasnât sitting right in front of you, youâd probably flip him off. But you simply ignored him, turning back to face Jed.
âShit, I have to get back to work. But Iâll see you tomorrow.â You told him, to which he nodded. âSee you tomorrow.â
