I despise when people argue for solar by referencing ongoing research. there's a lot of promising tech being developed, but much of it is at least a decade from being ready for implementation.
nuclear power has been available for decades. it's been safe for decades. it's an established form of energy that's only gotten better and safer. we know how to manage the waste and people who say we don't are lying to you.
if your concern is indigenous communities, then I sure hope you care about those wrt to every other form of energy! are you bringing this up for proposed wind farms? solar? hydrodams?? because I sure don't fucking see that.
I love angering myself by looking at people arguing against nuclear energy. it's all either "I don't understand anything about electrical generation, power grids, what's practically possible, and especially not nuclear physics." or [insert a heap of social and political issues that apply to literally all sources of power but are only talked about when nuclear comes up]
#๐.txt#friendly reminder that no one died at three mile or fukushima!#there was no massive radiation leak at three mile! it was successfully managed! the only disaster was how the power company handled pr!#even fukushima is blown wildly out of proportion. there is not a single radiation-related death.
