Enjoy an excerpt from the upcoming Stolen Moments chapter!

In that single moment, the world around them slowed to a crawl. Rook wasn’t entirely unconvinced that Neve was using their time magic on them. Their whole world shrunk down to the feeling of her hands on their waist, her pulling them in, her soft, slightly chapped lips on their own. Even as Neve abruptly pulled back, flustered and trying to collect herself, all of Rook’s thoughts, all of their worries about the gods and the fate of the world and whether or not a girl might have a crush on them vanished, replaced with a singular, solitary word: Woah…

And then a pissed off cat interrupted the single greatest moment of Rook Laidir’s entire life and they were back to chasing leads. Neve ran through the streets of Dock Town, poised and determined as ever to right the wrongs in her city. Rook followed close behind with a small smile on their face, a slightly dazed look in their eyes, and a light blush on their cheeks, absolutely smitten. Gods, what a woman.

My only criteria for Good Music is -

Does the song have A Tune

Does it Tell a Story

And it is shocking how a lot of songs made after TikTok fail both points

#this is the sole reason why I won’t listen to metal music #it doesn’t have a tune #I have also never heard one where the singer is explicitly telling you a narrative #even rap music has tunes #FFS Rebecca Black’s Friday had a tune and tells a story which is more than I can say for TikTok music #TAYLOR SWIFT music is capable of the above FFS #granted the stories she’s telling are awful but at LEAST you can tell the song has a point #do people just not listen to songs for the lyrics anymore?
