Mission Lifeline: "In addition to our rescue missions in the Mediterranean, we have also been on search missions off the Canary Islands since 2021. For this mission, we bought a 15-metre motor yacht and converted it with the help of many volunteers. Together with an operational speedboat, we use it to operate south of the Canary Islands. Our task with the new monitoring vessel #Marwa is to keep a lookout for boats in distress and report them to local sea rescue organisations so that they can initiate rescue as quickly as possible. Every minute counts here. Our hope is to make the "Atlantic route" a little safer so that people don't have to die there."
