Zane hummed idly to himself as he scanned through the romantic-comedy section of the store. He hated these silly little things, getting frustrated and nervous about choosing a good movie-- like Mavis would care if he chose a bad one.. but he felt the pressure regardless. With a sigh he reached for a Katherine Heigl 2000's classic , accidently dropping it to the floor. "Shit-- sorry! My bad!" he hissed to the employee. "Is there an extra charge for damaged cases...?"

brows furrow together as the vampire struggles to find words . sibella had always assumed her palate was different from that of humans , but how does one explain such things to a ghost ? ❛ it's like ... a fizzy , slight sour mixture of booberry and croak - a - cola . i'm more of a fang-ta ghoul ! ❜ although come to think of it , sibella had yet to find either of those drinks in evermore . maybe at a specialty store ?

her head nodded eagerly at the mention of drones , sharp teeth in full display through her bright grin . ❛ i have , yeah ! actually , i've almost flown into those a few times , ❜ the vampire admitted with a giggle . she was certain the cadets had paraphernalia similar to drones back in the day , but the ones in evermore seemed different , more sophisticated . maybe colonel calloway had a hard time adjusting to more modern technologies , and she couldn't blame him . ❛ are you thinking about getting a drone yourself ? ❜ if sibella saved up enough money , maybe she'd be able to surprise casper herself ! the question about neon lights in one's bedroom left her pondering for a moment , free hand cupping her chin thoughtfully . ❛ well , why not ! your room should look like whatever you want it to . it might make it a little harder to fall asleep though ... ❜ she would know , being a picky sleeper and all .

Casper nodded eagerly; after so long of being in that dusty, dim mansion, any colored lights or light at all seemed pretty fangtastic to them. "What does it taste like?" They inquired, clearly not pleasant judging by the expression that flickered across Sibella's expression but still, they found themselves a little envious. Even the bad tastes sometimes they desperately wished they could try. Just to know. They were far too curious, and there were far too many things they did not know. "Amazing," they agreed with another nod, smiling enough to flash their teeth. "Like drones. Have you seen drones?" That was new. Not terribly new, not compared to some other cool inventions they'd learned about, but new enough they were only discovered upon entering town. Being a child born in this era must be so wonderful, humanity had gotten even more fascinating over the years. "Neon lights, definitely. I'm tired of candlelight. Hey! Can I put these in my bedroom, do you think?"

Beau was very worried about the people going missing, in large part because they really were just disappearing. Since coming to evermore his scanner never worked quite as good as how it did in San Fransokyo but they could still find people within a certain radius. But now they couldn't. They really did just disappear. It made them wonder if they were out of the town somehow. That would be the only logical explanation. Though he wished that everybody could get out, he at least hoped the ones missing were alright if that was the case.

"Oh good, you're still here." He smiled at them. Sure their name hadn't been on the list but it didn't hurt to check in with people just in case. Surprisingly Beau was not very good at using technology, like cellphones and felt better physically seeing their friends.

"oh. it's you, weirdo," coraline said over their shoulder as a figure approached them on the park bench they were occupying. they couldn't sleep. the missing people were keeping them up at night, taunting their dreams as if it were their fault this was happening. there wasn't even any proof that the other world was responsible for people vanishing but coraline felt that it had something to do with it. and if their feeling was right...they felt like they didn't do enough to warn people. to help them. it was a lot.

bringing their knees to their chest they glanced at the normally perky casper. "i've been scared of a lot before," they said, looking to the ground now. "....but this missing people thing? too scary."

Brystol was bored. Which wasn't surprising being stuck in one town. So she headed to the Video Store, hoping to at least find something new to watch. Usually she would cure her boredom at the arcade, but even the games there were boring her. Work was a no go as she was stuck on a problem that just kept breaking every time she thought she fixed it. Which has left her more aggravated then usual.

"Hey, do you have anything here that isn't completely shit?"

Nuka had been looking for some movies to rent. Something Eeyore would like. He surely didn't have the money to shell out on overpriced streaming services so renting them for less was easier. Of course though things had to go awry. Clumsily knocking over a rack of DVD's from its display stand. Nuka fumbled with the fallen cases, glancing around quickly to see if he caught anyone's attention. Luckily for him the store seemed pretty dead this morning. Deciding to turn around and leave before he embarrassed himself any further. Turning on his heels and practically jumping out of his skin when he came face to face with what he assumed was an employee. Quick, he had to think. "Look man, I didn't knock over that stand. It was already wobblily when I got there."

Zane's features scrunched in confusion, for a second he really thought they were being serious and hadn't seen him make a complete blunder of himself. He was just hoping the cameras didn't catch it, because that would be extra embarrassing. "No no I am happy to cover the costs! I uh have my wallet right here, see!" he grinned, almost dropping it as he fished it from his pocket. "Uh butter fingers... good thing none of this stuff is made of crystal right?"

"I don't know," Casper admitted with a shrug, "probably not! I didn't see a thing!" In a quick motion, they made a zipping gesture along their lips, tossing an invisible key over their shoulder before bursting into a fit of giggles. "If so, it's probably like a quarter, and I have a quarter!" It wasn't like they needed the money to eat... or drink... or see a doctor. As long as rent was paid, the rest of their paycheck just continued to stack. They were happy to throw some change in the register if it came to that.
