7 Best Ways to Sell Your Car Online in Australia for the Best Price: Selling a car in Australia can be easy if you know the right steps. Whether you're selling a used car, a junk car, or a financed car, this guide will help you get the best price. 1. Preparing Your Car for a Successful Online Sale in Australia. Before listing your car, make sure it looks appealing to buyers. A clean and well-maintained car will sell faster. Follow these essential steps to prepare your vehicle for a quick sale and a higher price. A. Thoroughly Clean and Detail Your Car First impressions matter. A dirty car can turn off potential buyers before they even take a closer look. Ensure your car is spotless inside and out. - Exterior Cleaning: Wash, wax, and polish your car to restore its shine. Remove stains, scratches, and any visible damage to improve first impressions. - Interior Cleaning: Vacuum carpets, seats, and all corners. Clean the dashboard, steering wheel, and door panels. Use a quality interior cleaner to remove any odors. - Engine Bay Cleaning: A clean engine bay signals to buyers that the vehicle has been well-maintained. Use a degreaser to remove oil and dirt build-up. - Fix Interior Issues: Repair or replace any torn upholstery, worn-out floor mats, or broken interior panels. Ensure all buttons, knobs, and electronics (like infotainment and air conditioning) are working. - Polish Headlights: Cloudy headlights can make a car look old. Use a headlight restoration kit to improve visibility and appearance. B. Fix Minor Issues and Perform Maintenance Minor repairs can make a significant difference in how quickly you sell your car and how much you get for it. Here’s what you should address: - Replace worn-out tires: If your tires have low tread depth or are mismatched, buyers may hesitate to purchase. - Fix scratches and dents: Use scratch-removal kits for minor issues or take your car to a professional for paint touch-ups. - Ensure all lights work properly: Check your headlights, taillights, and turn signals. - Top up essential fluids: This includes engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid. - Inspect and replace wipers: Ensure visibility is clear for buyers taking a test drive. - Check battery health: A weak battery can lead to frustrating test drive experiences. - Brake and suspension check: Have a mechanic inspect brakes, shocks, and struts to ensure safety. C. Gather All Necessary Paperwork Having the right documents ready helps buyers feel confident about the transaction and ensures a smooth transfer. Gather the following: - Registration Certificate (Rego Papers): This proves ownership of the vehicle. - Roadworthy Certificate (if required in your state): Some Australian states require this for private sales. - Service History & Logbook: A full-service history reassures buyers that the car has been well cared for. - Owner’s Manual and Spare Keys: Many buyers appreciate receiving these extras. - Finance Clearance (if applicable): If your car is under finance, you’ll need to clear the loan before selling. D. Get a Free Car Valuation Knowing your car's market value ensures you don’t overprice or underprice it. Use these free online valuation tools: - RedBook – Provides estimated resale values based on your car’s condition. - CarsGuide – Helps you compare market prices. - Drive – Gives a broader range of pricing insights. - Dealer Valuation: Some dealerships offer instant car valuations, which can be useful as a benchmark. - Get multiple quotes: Compare offers from different platforms before setting your price. 📌 Personal Opinion: Preparing your car thoroughly before listing it can increase buyer interest and lead to a faster, more profitable sale. 2. Choosing the Best Online Platform to Sell Your Car. Choosing the right platform to sell your car can make a huge difference in how quickly you get offers and how much you earn. There are multiple ways to sell your car in Australia, each with its advantages and drawbacks. Below, we explore the best platforms for selling your vehicle online. A. Selling Through Online Marketplaces (Best for Maximum Reach & Price) Online marketplaces give you access to thousands of potential buyers and often allow you to set your own price. Here are some of the top platforms in Australia: - AusCarSales.au – A dedicated platform for selling cars in Australia, allowing free listings and direct communication with buyers. - Carsales – One of Australia’s most popular car-selling websites, though it charges a listing fee. - Gumtree – A classified ad platform where you can list cars for free, with optional premium upgrades. - Facebook Marketplace – A fast-growing, free marketplace that allows easy messaging with buyers. - eBay Motors – A great option for those willing to sell their car through an auction-style listing. Pros of Online Marketplaces: ✅ Broad exposure to buyers across Australia✅ Ability to set your own price and negotiate✅ Some platforms offer free listings✅ Detailed images and vehicle history can be added to build trust Cons: ❌ Requires effort in managing inquiries and negotiations❌ Some platforms charge listing or success fees❌ You may have to deal with non-serious buyers or scammers 📌 Personal Opinion: Selling online is often the best way to get the highest price for your car, but it requires patience and effort. Be sure to create a detailed and honest listing to attract serious buyers. B. Selling to a Car Buying Service (Best for Quick Sales) If you need to sell your car quickly, using a car buying service may be the best option. These companies provide instant offers and handle paperwork for you. Best Car Buying Services in Australia: - Cars24 – Offers an instant price for your car and picks it up from your location. - We Buy Any Car – A quick and easy way to get cash for your vehicle. - CarTakeBack – Specializes in buying old and unwanted cars for scrap value. Pros: ✅ Fast sale process, often completed within 24–48 hours✅ No need to deal with buyers or negotiations✅ Car buying services handle all paperwork Cons: ❌ Offers are usually lower than selling privately❌ Limited room for price negotiation❌ May not be the best option for newer or high-value vehicles 📌 Personal Opinion: If you’re in a hurry to sell, car buying services can be a great option. However, if you want to maximize your profit, a private sale is usually better. C. Trading In at a Dealership (Best for Hassle-Free Transactions) Trading in your car at a dealership is a convenient option, especially if you plan to buy another car. Dealerships will assess your car’s value and offer a trade-in price that can be applied toward your new purchase. Pros: ✅ No need to advertise or deal with private buyers✅ Quick and easy process✅ Some dealers offer bonus incentives on trade-ins Cons: ❌ Trade-in prices are often lower than private sale values❌ Limited negotiation room❌ Best suited for newer cars in good condition 📌 Personal Opinion: Trading in is the easiest option, but it typically results in a lower sale price. If convenience is more important than getting the highest price, this is a solid choice. D. Selling at an Auction (Best for Rare or High-Demand Cars) For unique or high-value vehicles, an auction may be the best way to sell. Auctions attract buyers looking for specific models and can sometimes result in competitive bidding. Best Auction Houses in Australia: - Lloyds Auctions – Specializes in classic and prestige cars. - Pickles Auctions – One of Australia’s largest vehicle auction houses. - Manheim Auctions – Offers nationwide car auctions. Pros: ✅ Potential for a higher sale price through bidding✅ Auction houses handle the selling process✅ Great for rare, luxury, or collectible cars Cons: ❌ No guarantee of a high selling price❌ Auction fees apply❌ The process can take longer than a direct sale 📌 Personal Opinion: Auctions work best for specialty vehicles. If you have a standard car, you’ll likely get a better deal selling privately. E. Choosing the Best Option for Your Needs Selling MethodBest ForSpeed of SalePrice PotentialEase of ProcessOnline MarketplacesHigh Price & Wide AudienceModerateHighMediumCar Buying ServicesQuick Sale & ConvenienceFastLowHighTrade-In at DealershipHassle-Free ProcessFastMediumHighAuctionsRare or Classic CarsSlow-ModerateVariableMedium 📌 Final Thoughts: The best way to sell your car depends on your priorities. If you want the highest price, an online marketplace is the best choice. If you need a quick sale, a car buying service or dealership trade-in is better. 3. How to Price Your Car Competitively for an Online Sale. Setting the right price for your car is one of the most crucial steps in successfully selling it. If you price it too high, buyers may overlook your listing. If you price it too low, you may sell quickly but lose money. Here’s how to determine the best price for your vehicle. A. Research Market Prices and Trends To set a competitive price, it’s important to analyze the current market conditions and similar car listings. - Check Online Listings: Browse platforms like AusCarSales.au, Carsales, and Gumtree to see what similar cars are selling for. - Compare Key Factors: Ensure you compare vehicles of the same make, model, year, mileage, and condition to get an accurate estimate. - Consider Location-Based Pricing: Prices can vary based on the region, with metro areas often having higher demand. - Assess Market Demand: Popular cars with high resale value, such as Toyota, Honda, and Mazda models, tend to sell for more. - Seasonal Trends: Convertibles sell better in summer, while 4WDs and SUVs are in demand before winter. B. Use Free Online Car Valuation Tools Several online tools can provide an estimate of your car’s worth based on market trends: - RedBook – Provides benchmark prices based on model, condition, and mileage. - CarsGuide – Helps compare market prices across various sources. - Drive – Offers an estimate based on similar car sales. - Dealer Valuation: Some dealerships provide instant online valuations, which can be used for reference. C. Determine Your Pricing Strategy Once you understand the market, you need to decide on a pricing approach: - Competitive Pricing: Setting the price slightly below similar listings can help attract more buyers. - Buffer Pricing: Adding $500–$1,000 above your expected price allows room for negotiation. - Urgent Sale Pricing: If you need to sell fast, pricing on the lower end of the market value will generate quick interest. - Premium Pricing: If your car has low mileage, a full-service history, or additional features, you may justify pricing it higher. D. Factors That Can Increase or Decrease Your Car's Value Certain features and conditions can impact how much buyers are willing to pay: Factors That Increase Value: - Low mileage compared to similar listings. - Recent major service or new tires. - Extended warranty or premium add-ons (leather seats, sunroof, navigation system). - Good fuel efficiency and safety ratings. - Accident-free and well-documented service history. Factors That Decrease Value: - High mileage or signs of excessive wear and tear. - Unrepaired dents, scratches, or mechanical issues. - Outdated technology or missing key features. - A history of accidents or incomplete service records. E. Adjust Pricing Based on Buyer Interest After your listing is live, monitor engagement and be ready to tweak your pricing if needed: - High Interest but No Offers? You may be slightly overpriced—consider a minor price drop. - No Interest? Revise your listing with better photos, a clearer description, and adjust the price. - Multiple Offers Quickly? You may have priced too low—consider negotiating for a better deal. 📌 Personal Opinion: Setting a competitive price is a balancing act. It’s wise to start slightly higher to allow room for negotiation while ensuring the price remains attractive to buyers. Step 4: Creating a Standout Online Listing for Your Car Once you’ve prepared your car and set a competitive price, it’s time to create a compelling listing that attracts potential buyers. A well-structured and informative ad increases your chances of selling quickly and at the best possible price. A. Take High-Quality Photos Photos are the first thing buyers notice. Make sure to capture your car in the best light by following these tips: - Use Natural Lighting: Take photos during daylight to avoid glare and harsh shadows. - Showcase Different Angles: Include front, rear, side, interior, wheels, dashboard, and engine shots. - Highlight Key Features: Capture special features like a sunroof, leather seats, infotainment system, or custom rims. - Take Close-Ups of Important Details: Show tire condition, service stickers, and any modifications. - Avoid Cluttered Backgrounds: A neutral background like a driveway or open space makes the car stand out. 📌 Pro Tip: Adding 10-15 high-quality photos will give buyers a full view of the car, increasing interest. B. Write a Detailed and Honest Description A well-written description helps potential buyers decide whether your car fits their needs. Include the following details: - Make, Model, and Year: Clearly state the car’s identity (e.g., "2019 Toyota Corolla ZR Hatchback"). - Mileage and Condition: Mention the odometer reading and overall state (e.g., "Excellent condition with only 60,000 km"). - Features and Upgrades: List key features such as leather seats, cruise control, GPS navigation, and Apple CarPlay. - Service History and Ownership: State if the car has a full-service history, single ownership, or any extended warranty. - Known Issues (If Any): Transparency builds trust—mention any minor issues like a small scratch or worn tires. 📌 Example Description: "For Sale: 2018 Toyota Corolla Hatchback ZR – 85,000 km, well-maintained, full-service history, new tires, touchscreen infotainment system, fuel-efficient. Minor scratch on bumper. Price: $19,500 negotiable. Contact for inspection." C. Craft an Attention-Grabbing Title Your title should make your listing stand out. Avoid generic titles like "Toyota for Sale." Instead, include key details: ✅ "2019 Toyota Corolla ZR | Low KMs | One Owner | Excellent Condition"✅ "Honda CR-V 2020 | Full-Service History | Sunroof & Apple CarPlay" D. Set Clear Pricing and Contact Details - Set a Fair and Competitive Price: Use insights from Step 3 to determine pricing. - Mention if Price is Negotiable: If you're open to offers, state "Negotiable for serious buyers." - Include Your Contact Information: Provide a phone number or email for quick responses. - State Preferred Communication Method: Mention if you prefer calls, messages, or emails. E. Use Keywords for Better Search Visibility To improve your listing’s visibility, use keywords that buyers search for: - "Best ways to sell your car online in Australia" - "Used Toyota Corolla for sale in Sydney" - "Low mileage SUV for sale" - "Fuel-efficient car with full-service history" 📌 Personal Opinion: Listings with high-quality images, clear pricing, and a well-written description get significantly more inquiries. Be honest and transparent to build trust and close the deal faster. Step 5: Handling Buyer Inquiries and Negotiations Once your listing is live, you’ll start receiving inquiries from potential buyers. The way you handle these interactions can significantly impact your ability to close the sale. This step will guide you through responding effectively, managing test drives, and negotiating the best deal. A. Responding to Buyer Inquiries - Be Prompt and Professional: Reply quickly to inquiries to show buyers you’re serious. Delayed responses might make them look elsewhere. - Answer Questions Clearly: Buyers may ask about vehicle condition, history, and price flexibility. Be upfront and honest. - Beware of Scams: Avoid buyers who refuse to meet in person, request unnecessary personal details, or offer to pay without seeing the car. - Schedule Viewings Efficiently: Arrange viewings for serious buyers only, and try to meet in a public place if possible. 📌 Pro Tip: If a buyer asks questions that are already answered in your listing, politely guide them back to it. This filters out non-serious inquiries. B. Arranging Safe and Productive Test Drives - Meet in a Safe Public Place: Consider locations like shopping centers or well-lit parking areas. - Ask for a Valid Driver’s License: Ensure the buyer has a proper license before allowing a test drive. - Ride Along During the Test Drive: Accompany the buyer to answer questions and protect your vehicle. - Limit the Test Drive Route: Plan a route that includes different driving conditions (e.g., city streets and highways) but keeps the drive within 15–20 minutes. - Set Boundaries: Never hand over the keys without being in the car and always keep your phone on hand. 📌 Pro Tip: If you're uncomfortable riding along, bring a friend or family member for safety. C. Negotiating the Best Deal Negotiation is a standard part of selling a car. Buyers will likely try to lower the price, so be prepared with a pricing strategy. - Know Your Bottom Line: Before entering negotiations, decide on the lowest price you’re willing to accept. - Be Open to Offers, But Stay Firm: Politely decline offers that are too low and counter with a reasonable figure. - Highlight Your Car’s Value: Emphasize its condition, low mileage, service history, or special features. - Use Market Comparisons: If a buyer claims your price is too high, refer them to similar listings to justify your pricing. - Handle Multiple Offers Carefully: If multiple buyers are interested, let them know—this can create a sense of urgency. 📌 Example Negotiation Response: Buyer: "I like the car, but I think $19,500 is a bit high. Would you take $18,000?"Seller: "Thanks for your offer! Given the car’s excellent condition and recent servicing, I’d be willing to meet at $19,200. Let me know if that works for you." D. Securing a Deposit and Finalizing the Sale Once you’ve agreed on a price, it’s time to finalize the deal. - Request a Deposit: A small deposit ($500–$1,000) secures the sale while the buyer arranges full payment. - Use a Secure Payment Method: Bank transfers or cash are safest. Avoid personal checks or PayPal for high-value transactions. - Write a Sales Agreement: Include details such as: - Buyer and seller names - Car details (make, model, year, VIN, odometer reading) - Agreed price and deposit amount - Payment method and date of final transaction 📌 Pro Tip: Always wait until full payment has been received before handing over the keys and ownership documents. Step 6: Completing the Sale and Transferring Ownership Once you’ve negotiated and secured a buyer, the next step is to finalize the sale and ensure all legal paperwork is properly completed. This process includes receiving full payment, transferring ownership, and notifying the appropriate authorities. A. Receiving Full Payment Securely - Preferred Payment Methods: Bank transfers and cash payments are the safest. Avoid personal checks or online payment methods like PayPal for high-value transactions. - Meet in a Safe Location: If exchanging cash, meet at a bank where the transaction can be verified immediately. - Verify Payment Before Releasing the Car: Ensure that the funds have been fully transferred to your account before handing over the keys. - Avoid Overpayment Scams: If a buyer sends extra money and asks for a refund, it’s likely a scam. 📌 Pro Tip: If using a bank transfer, confirm with your bank that the funds are fully cleared before finalizing the sale. B. Writing a Bill of Sale and Sales Agreement A bill of sale protects both the buyer and seller by documenting the transaction details. Read the full article

All your Novated Leasing Questions Answered
Thinking about getting a new car but feeling lost in the maze of finance options? We get it—figuring out how to make it all work can be a headache. That’s where Novated Saver comes in. We’re all about keeping things simple and affordable, so you can get the wheels you want without breaking the bank. Plus, our online calculator makes it easy to see how much you can save.
What is Novated Leasing?
A novated lease is pretty much a win-win deal between you, your boss, and a finance company. It lets you lease a car using your pre-tax salary, which can score you some sweet tax savings and keep more cash in your pocket. With a novated lease, car ownership is easier and more affordable, plus we handle all the boring stuff like paperwork and maintenance.
Why Go for a Novated Lease?
1. Save on Tax: One of the biggest perks of a novated lease is using your pre-tax income. This means you lower your taxable income and save on tax—who doesn’t love that?
2. Easy Payments: We bundle everything—rego, insurance, and maintenance—into one simple payment. Less hassle, more time for the fun stuff.
3. Your Car, Your Way: Whether you’re after a compact car or something with a bit more grunt, our novated leases are super flexible. Pick the ride that suits you best!
Why Choose Novated Saver?
Novated Saver is all about making novated leasing affordable and stress-free. Here’s why we’re different:
– Flexibility: We’re one of the few companies out there offering non-exclusive leases to any Aussie employee. You’re not tied down to your employer’s leasing provider, so you can tailor a lease just for you.
– No Nasty Surprises: We’re big on transparency—no hidden fees, no sneaky charges. What you see is what you get, and our quotes are easy to understand.
– Australia-Wide Service: Whether you’re chilling in Melbourne or road-tripping around Brisbane, we’ve got you covered. Our services are available all across Australia.
Let’s face it, not every novated leasing company plays fair. Some try to sneak in extra fees or make things way more complicated than they need to be. At Novated Saver, we’re all about keeping things straightforward and honest.
Check Out Our Online Calculator
Want to know how much you could save with a novated lease? Our online calculator is here to help. It’s super easy to use and gives you instant estimates on costs and savings. Just pop in some basic info like your income and car choice, and you’ll see exactly how much you can save.

– Compare Your Options: Not sure which car to go for? Our calculator lets you compare different options so you can make the smartest choice.
 —————————————————————————-
Thinking about how to save big on your next car? Novated leases might just be the ticket, but we know it can all sound a bit confusing. Don’t stress—we’re here to break it down for you. This post will walk you through what a novated lease is, how it works, and whether it’s worth your while, all with an Aussie twist on tax and employment rules.
So, How Does a Novated Lease Work?
Setting up a novated lease is easier than you might think. Here’s the lowdown:
1. Pick Your Ride: First things first, choose the car you want to lease.
2. Sign the Lease: You’ll sign a lease agreement with a leasing company. Easy peasy.
3. Novation Agreement: Your employer agrees to take on the lease payments, which come out of your pre-tax salary. This is where the savings kick in.
4. Bundled Costs: All the running costs—like maintenance, insurance, and rego—get rolled into one simple monthly payment.
How Does a Novated Lease Work in Australia?
In Australia, novated leases are popular because of the tax perks that come with salary packaging. Lease payments are taken from your gross salary, lowering your taxable income and saving you on tax. Plus, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the car’s purchase price can often be claimed back by your employer, which usually means more savings for you.
Do You Own the Car After a Novated Lease?
When your lease ends, you’ve got a few options:
1. Buy It: You can purchase the car for its residual value.
2. Keep Leasing: Extend the lease for a bit longer.
3. Walk Away: Hand the car back to the leasing company and call it a day.
How Much of a Novated Lease is Tax-Free?
The tax savings depend on your income and how much the lease costs. To get a clear picture, using a novated lease calculator is a smart move—it’ll give you a detailed estimate of how much you could save.
Is a Novated Lease Better Than Paying Cash?
This one really depends on your financial situation. Sure, paying cash means no interest or finance fees, but a novated lease can offer some juicy tax benefits that might make it a better deal overall. Think about your cash flow, tax situation, and long-term goals before deciding.
How Does a Novated Lease Cover Electricity for EVs?
If you’re going electric, some novated lease packages include electricity costs. These can be bundled into your monthly lease payments, making it easier to manage the expenses of running an EV.
How Do I Ask My Employer for a Novated Lease?
Want to pitch a novated lease to your boss? Here’s how to go about it:
1. Do Your Homework: Learn the ins and outs of how novated leases work and what they offer.
2. Get Ready: Prepare a proposal showing how a novated lease benefits both you and your employer. Novated Saver can even do the pitch on your behalf just ask us!
3. Set Up a Meeting: Book a time with HR or finance to chat about it.
4. Make Your Case: Explain the perks, like tax savings and boosting employee satisfaction.
Can I Transfer a Novated Lease Between Employers?
Yep, you can transfer a novated lease to a new employer, but they’ve got to agree to take on the lease payments. This process is called re-novation, and you’ll need to sign a new agreement with your new employer.
Is the Employer Liable for a Novated Lease?
Your employer handles the lease payments as part of your salary package, but the financial responsibility ultimately rests with you.
Can an Employer Claim GST on a Novated Lease?
Yes, your employer can claim GST on the lease payments and running costs, which often translates to more savings for you.
Novated leases can be a fantastic way to finance a car, especially if you’re looking to lower your taxable income and streamline car costs. While there are some potential drawbacks, the benefits—especially the tax savings—make it a pretty sweet deal for a lot of people. Always chat with a financial advisor to see how a novated lease fits into your specific financial picture.
Is a Novated Lease the Right Move?
For most people, the answer is yes! The tax savings, ease of payments, and flexibility make novated leasing a great choice. At Novated Saver, we’re here to help you get the most out of your lease. Our online calculator makes it easy to figure out if a novated lease is the right fit for you, no matter what kind of car you’re after.
Ready to see how much you can save? Dive into the world of novated leasing with Novated Saver and get rolling towards your new car without the stress.

Managing a car insurance claim can be stressful, especially after an accident. Knowing exactly what to do ensures a smooth claims process and helps you avoid delays or unexpected costs. This guide explains how to manage your car insurance claims efficiently, what documents you need, and what to expect after filing a claim. 1. What to Do Immediately After a Car Accident To start your car insurance claim on the right foot, gather all necessary information at the scene. Here's what you need: - Exchange Contact InformationCollect the other driver's name, phone number, address, and insurance details. - Document the SceneTake photos of the accident scene, showing damage to both cars, road conditions, and any other relevant details. - Get a Police ReportIf the accident is serious or involves injury, call the police. The report can help when filing your claim. - Note Witness InformationIf there are witnesses, ask for their contact details in case their statement is needed. 2. Check Your Insurance Policy Coverage Before filing a claim, review your insurance policy to understand what’s covered. Policies vary, but typical coverage includes: - Comprehensive Insurance – Covers damage to your car and other vehicles, as well as theft, fire, and vandalism. - Third-Party Insurance – Covers only damage to other vehicles or property. - Optional Benefits – Some policies offer additional benefits, such as free car hire or roadside assistance. 3. Determine If You Need to Pay an Excess An excess is the amount you’re required to pay when making a claim. Whether you're at fault or not, most insurers require this payment unless certain conditions are met. - When is the excess waived? Some policies waive the excess if the at-fault driver is identified and insured. Always check the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) for details. - How much is the excess? The excess amount varies depending on your policy and may be higher if additional drivers are listed. 4. Filing Your Car Insurance Claim Most insurers allow you to file a claim online, over the phone, or via their mobile app. Follow these steps: - Fill Out the Claim FormProvide all required information, including accident details, police reports, and photos. - Submit Supporting DocumentsAttach any supporting documents, such as receipts for emergency expenses (e.g., towing fees). - Get an Estimate for RepairsSome insurers may require you to get a quote for repair costs before approving the claim. 5. What Happens After You File a Claim? Once you’ve submitted your claim, your insurer will review it and contact you with the next steps. Here's what typically happens: - Claim Approval or RejectionThe insurer will either approve or deny your claim within 10 business days. If denied, you will receive a written explanation. - Repair ProcessIf approved, the insurer may refer you to an authorized repair center or allow you to choose your own. - InvestigationIn cases of disputed fault, the insurer may investigate further by contacting witnesses or reviewing additional evidence. 6. Dealing with Claim Denials If your insurer rejects your claim and you disagree, you can: - Contact the Internal Dispute Resolution TeamMost insurers have a process for handling disputes. - Lodge a Complaint with AFCAThe Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) can help resolve disputes between consumers and financial services. Everything You Need to Know About NSW Rego Check. Example Scenario: When You Have to Pay the Excess Even if Not at Fault Imagine you’re involved in an accident where the other driver flees the scene, and they can’t be identified. Even though you’re not at fault, your insurer may require you to pay the excess because the responsible party can’t be held accountable. Tips to Avoid Issues When Claiming on Car Insurance - Regularly Check Your PolicyEnsure you understand the terms, coverage, and any exclusions. - Report Accidents PromptlyDelays in reporting can lead to denied claims. - Maintain Proper DocumentationKeeping thorough records makes it easier to prove your claim. - Fix Leaks and Damages EarlyAddress any small issues quickly to avoid claims being rejected due to “wear and tear.” Q: How long do I have to file a car insurance claim? A: It varies by insurer. Some require claims to be filed within a few days, while others allow up to 30 days. Q: Will my premium increase after making a claim? A: Yes, in most cases, your premium may increase after filing a claim, especially if you're at fault. Q: Can I choose my own repairer? A: Many insurers have a preferred network of repairers, but you can usually choose your own—just check if the repairer is approved. Conclusion Managing a car insurance claim doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By staying organized, knowing your policy, and following the correct steps, you can ensure a smoother process. Remember to act promptly, keep detailed records, and communicate with your insurer for the best outcome. Read the full article

Keep Your Roof Strong: Simple Tips for Homeowners in Brooklyn and Queens
Hello to all the homeowners in Brooklyn and Queens! We all want a home that feels safe and secure, right? One of the biggest heroes in keeping your home protected is your roof. It blocks out the rain, keeps the cold out, and even helps you save on those energy bills. Let's go through some straightforward advice on how to keep your roof in top condition and why it's vital to pay attention to it.
Why Worry About Your Roof?
Imagine wearing a jacket with holes in it on a snowy day; you’d get pretty cold, wouldn’t you? The same idea applies to your home if your roof has issues. Here’s what a good roof does for you:
No Leaks: A solid roof means no water dripping into your house, which can cause damage to your walls, ceiling, and even your health.
Lower Energy Bills: If your roof is in great shape, it keeps your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, which means using less energy overall.
Better Home Value: A home with a well-maintained roof is more attractive to buyers if you ever decide to sell.
Peace of Mind: Knowing your roof is in good condition lets you rest easy, especially during those notorious NYC storms.
How to Take Care of Your Roof
Taking care of your roof doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are a few simple steps you can follow:
Visual Inspections: Make it a habit to look at your roof from the ground a couple of times a year or after any severe weather. Check for missing shingles, visible wear, or any sagging.
Keep Gutters Clear: Blocked gutters can lead to water backing up and damaging your roof. Cleaning your gutters regularly helps prevent this.
Trim Overhanging Branches: Trees near your home can be lovely, but they can also pose a risk to your roof. Keep branches trimmed back so they don’t rub against your roof or drop debris that can accumulate.
Watch for Moss and Mold: These can damage roofing materials over time. If you notice any green or black patches, it might be time to get your roof cleaned or checked by a professional.
Tumblr media
When to Call the Professionals
Some roof issues need a professional touch. Here’s when to call in the experts:
Significant Damage: If your roof has extensive damage or if you notice several areas need repair, it’s best to get professional help.
Persistent Leaks: If you’ve noticed ongoing issues with leaks, a roofing professional can help identify the underlying problems and fix them.
Regular Maintenance: Having a professional do an annual check-up on your roof can help catch issues early and save you money and stress in the long run.
Why Trust Us With Your Roof?
If you’re in Brooklyn or Queens and need roof services, here’s why we should be your first call:
Local Experience: We know the specific challenges roofs face in these boroughs and have years of experience dealing with them.
Clear Communication: We explain all our processes and findings clearly, so you always know what’s happening with your roof.
Reliability: We’re known for our dependability and high-quality work, ensuring each job is done right.
Conclusion: Keeping Your Roof Ready
Your roof is a crucial part of your home’s defense system against the weather. With a little attention and timely care, it can continue to function at its best, keeping your home safe and comfortable. Whether you need a quick fix or a complete overhaul, remember, we’re here to help keep your roof strong and your home secure.
Feel free to reach out if you notice any issues or if it’s time for that yearly roof check-up. Let’s keep your home protected together!

Life in Queensland
27th August, 2019
No one has asked what’s it’s like living in the sunshine state, but I’ll tell you anyway.
Life’s good here, it’s simpler, and as it should be.
Major difference is the ease of getting around by car/bike. No traffic lights keep traffic flowing and once your use to roundabout efficiencies no one gets held up except those that don’t understand the rules, the etiquette or are procrastinators.
No multi level car parks to lose your car in or get held up by a senior trying to work out how to back into a space, or big family with multi kids loading the once a month food shopping of fizzy drinks, pet food and cheese twisties.
Lots of marked motorcycle parking in prime spots is a bonus (for us).
No queues is another bonus, except for gelato on a weekend arvo. When you go to the motor registry, which we have had too on numerous occasions to sort licences and regos, the following happens. You walk into a near deserted customer area and head to the ticket machine. You’ll notice the 4-5 counter staff have eyes fixed on your hand. As you select your required service and the little paper ticket starts to emerge from the kiosk there is movement at the counters as the staff try to get your customer number to light up their counter before each other. It’s a bit like a quiz show. As your checking your number a loud speaker is already calling that number.
All shop staff (except cafes) greet you with ‘want you want luv’ and ‘thanks darl’ as a closer.
Heaps of cafes with good coffee and environs, craft brewers are also springing up everywhere with big budget establishments which are nice to dissect their architectural and detailed construction.
No aeroplanes in the sky, which I miss, but lots of noisy helicopters for some reason, maybe tourist joy flights.
Wed, Sat and Sunday markets are a nice outing for either a stroll, or provisioning. Eumundi markets are very busy and expensive, (even Manabu’s - x CiSRA QA engineer’s Açai) Noosa market is expensive but very high quality and mainly locals, while Yandina market is herbal, bit Scotland Is. like, but good cheap fresh vegetables and interesting second hand tools. Noosa market has apparently the world’s best Portuguese Custard Tarts, but as I’m yet to experience them to date.
We are slowerly getting use to water efficiency, being mindful our tank isn’t bottomless. A washing load uses 50 litres a cycle, 2x showers and there’s another 50 litres even when turning water off to soap up! We are now using the ‘grey’ water to water the new trees and shrubs we have planted rather than using the tank water. I’ll try to jerry rig some roofing to collect ‘free’ rain water but don’t want to over do the squatter development we are creating.
A day now consists of working in the morning till about 12/1 then to the beach on bike for a swim and picnic lunch, then back to work at 2:30/3 till dark. Bit hot in direct sun around lunchtime, but beautiful in the shade. Hope summer is not a killer, but probably will be. Might have to hang at at the freezer section at Woolies during the hot days.
I’ve also discovered 7eleven $1 coffee is on par with a good $4.50 cup, except for the crema. A trip to Bunnings in the morning or arvo includes a $1 coffee stop. I kid you not it’s acceptable (the quality). I buy ground coffee for home at Padres at Noosaville, settling on one blend after trying a few. It’s a cool place with nice but pretty coffee serious staff.
The best cake/bread shop is actually at a Shell garage at Noosaville too. You have to be told, you’d never discover it unless getting petrol. Just awesome French style stuff with lots of choices and they are constantly baking.
Paddler Andy Ross, another refugee from Sydney, has started a TT on the Noosa river on Sunday mornings so that’s now part of the weekly timetable, as is a training session on Friday mornings run by the local kayak shop. Nice bunch, glorious weather, champagne water.
The hinterland provides miles of great roads, cooler weather and cute little villages for stops. Too many craftie shops for my liking but that’s ok, old people have to have something to enjoy. A ride or drive up the hinterland is nice to have a break from digging.
Can’t find any boxing classes unless you pay $20 + for a session, Matt’s classes st North Ryde were a bargain, and hundreds of yoga classes if that’s your (not my) thing.
The beach. Noosa main beach is beautiful as you know. Minimal surf unless the swell is running which makes for a very pleasant cool off. Hastings Street is fabulous too. Just like being in some swish Melbourne Street but right on the ocean. If you holiday in Noosa I’d recommend paying a bit extra and staying on Hastings, it’s worth it by a mile. Forget the car just walk, eat and swim. Staying anywhere else in the area is hardly worth coming for.
Been very dry since we moved. The creek has stopped flowing over the little weir. Grass still nice and green except where I have driven the tractor over it infinite times, turning it to bull dust. Suppose to rain this week which will be interesting to see if we survive the camp out in a wet spell :).
Haven’t seen a snake yet, but I’m told it’s just a matter of time. I walk around like I’m in a mine field. We have jumping ants as we have mentioned which we are gradually eliminating. We also have a ‘cheese tree’ (look it up), which should be called a pumpkin tree, which has the unfortunate attribute of housing those seething balls of catapillars. Bit creepy, especially for Tokyo girls. We have BBQ’d two lots to date. Apparently coming into skin contact with them is not a recommended experience.
Anyway back to work. Digging the driveway at present. Want to get it done so the Port-a-loo lorry can get to down to our loo without having to go thru the neighbours. Everyone needs a goal :).
Btw we now have a lounge available in the annex for one overnight visitor. Who will be first?
