hi!! so I want to put the camp fam (+ assorted other characters if i get to them) as dinosaurs in a park on Jurassic World Evolution 2, so I want to ask if anyone has any ideas for them? I might do them based off narrative/important scenes (Darius = gallimimus/parasaur Ben = anky with bumpy skin of course) or I might just do general vibes, so any ideas and thoughts would be appreciated!!
I have all DLC’s and all maps unlocked so lmk!!

Koala cuddle!
Tumblr media
I think I can die happy now!  I totally hugged a koala and it is just as good as you think it will be.  His name is Kody and it took everything in me not to put him in my purse and run!
I’m not entirely sure I should have led with this, because nothing is better than holding a koala and there are no pictures Itaken today better than me holding a koala. But, the day in general, was amazing.  I went to the Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat.  They rehabilitate injured or abandoned animals and are a home for animals that cannot  safely return to the wild.  The thing that is super unique about this site, is that the exhibits are immersive, so you can walk right up to and touch birds, wallabies, kangaroos, emus, etc.  It was one of the coolest things that i have done.
This post will be mostly cute pictures of animals.  I know you are disappointed about this...
Kangaroos
At the habitat they have an enclosure where Eastern Gret Kangaroos and various types of wallabies roam free and you can hand feed them.  They range in size from some the size of a house cat to the Eastern Greys, which wer about 5 feet standing.  This is a video of me feeding my favorite one (I mean, I don’t have favorites, I loe them all equally, but here is my “favorite”...)

More cute pics of kangaroos:

This is me and my friend Jess.  We met her and her family the day earlier because we were all making the same tourist loop together.  We got to know them quite well.  I was so happy to see them at the wildlife park today.

Flightless birds
Of the largest flightless birds on the planet, this is the thrird largest and the only one that will not try to murder you on site.  Phew.  (The largesst being the Ostrich and the second largest being the cassowary, also native to this area.)

Cassowary
Someone asked the guide why the cassowary isn’t allowed to roam free.  You will not be surpised to hear this, because it can kill you.  They are very aggressive and  have huge feet and can kick with dealy force.  Hence why it is behind a huge fence.
Fun fact about cassowaries and emus (and maybe ostriches?): The fathers raise the chicks.  The moms lay the eggs and then split.  The fathers sit on and incubate the eggs.  Emu dad incubate for 55 days and then raise the chicks for another 6 months!
Birds
This is my friend the red-tailed cockatoo, who I creatively named Red.  I don’t think he can fly, so he has gotten really good at being adorable and getting other people to carry him around.   I was introduced to him by my friend Jess.  He was hitching a ride around the park on her shoulder all day.  When she & her family had to leave the park, I became his new caretaker.  We had lunch together.  He’s lovely.

Pelicans

Pelicans are the weirdest birds.  They are giant and have this strange waddle.  Not deadly though.  Phew.

Crocodiles
The corcodile enclosure was straight out of Jurassic Park.  (Actually the whole park felt like Jurassic park because you had to open all of these huge gates to keep the animals from wandering out. And its tropical and birds are basically dinosaurs, etc.)  The croc enclosure had more fencing and protection than I have ever seen in a zoo.  You do actually get pretty close to the crocodiles walking over the “predator plank,” very unnerving.  The big one was easily 12 feet, maybe more.  It made me miss my “little” friend in the watering hole.

This was the small one, maybe 7 feet.

Here was the big one, 12+ feet.  He was amazingly camouflaged for being massive.  Apparently one of the wallabies got too close to the enclosure and the crocodile bit off his tail.  He survived and is fine, but now all the wallabies stay away.

By about 2:30 all of the animals were fone for the day from the heat.  So I took my leave of the park.  So far, a highlight of the trip!!
