REDNECK DOUG IS A DAMN HERO IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

Nothing much, but we had a disgusting, horrid, stupid ass skunk on our block. This fucker.

It tore up multiple gardens. It chewed through all sorts of shit. The holes it dug on different yards killed a good chunk of our plants. Mine included.

RIP my poor dahlias, kale, and vague sad attempt at homegrown peppers from my kid's science project.

It was a lot of work that ended in this stupid stinky fuck digging it all up looking for his damn worms. It has evaded us for months, like a musky El Chapo, waddling his nasty stank ass all over the damn alley.

The skunk also killed a couple of my friend's poor chickens, too. She got it on camera. The rest of the flock is elsewhere, now.

Finally, the skunk sprayed my poor dog, who came into the house wailing and made the entire place reek. Cue a very unhappy doggo getting a bath in the cold yard and my poor kids and I trying to clean up the house so it doesn't smell like a burning tire fucked a bag of weed.

Anyway, long story short, Redneck Doug had a busy day at work, took Jimmers to the dog park, and made it back after the sun set, normally when Senor Hedor del Diablo does his Spray n Pray on the neighborhood dogs, commit chicken homicide, and dig up our yards like a crackhead trying to find a stash in a trap house. Skunko was running across the alley from garage to garage...right where Doug was headed in his pickup, Jimmers riding shotgun.

When in battle between a skunk and a 1999 Mazda B-Series...the truck will win, swiftly and without mercy. At least Skunk had a quick ending.

And Doug ain't paying for drinks for quite some time in this neighborhood! We are free!

PS- I hold our inept avian community accountable for this bullshit. Our urban neighborhood is famous for Great Horned Owls, one of the top predators of skunks. Come the FUCK ON, owls. We also have multiple red-tailed hawks, coyotes, and foxes nearby. Watch, they're all dumpster diving instead of being actual predators. Ugh.

Also the article I linked at the start is generally a very good one that rips that Bourdain cunt a part in a thorough and well-researched manner. It also contains useful information on US Imperial propaganda as a whole that can easily be applied to a range of other examples. I give it an enthusiastic recommendation

It also contains some just plain banger quotes that still get to me even out of context, such as

In contrast to the “earlier, harder” times, Bourdain admired how Russians now have the freedom to eke out a living by selling their meager belongings. A few Russians can afford luxury imported automobiles, and the rest can peddle trinkets and enjoy the crumbs: the system works.

“But Revolution has brought changed tastes. Libyans, especially young Libyans, hunger for more than just freedom,” he said via voiceover. And what fruit has ripened sweetest on liberty’s vines? Kentucky Fried Chicken — or at least, a knockoff version, to hold Libyans over until Uncle Sam’s greatest brands can storm the shores of Tripoli like the Marines of yesteryear.

The West’s urban bourgeoisie can think of themselves as the smartest and most cosmopolitan people in the world. They are actually the most small-minded and provincial, and Bourdain is a case-in-point: he traveled to dozens of countries and spoke to hundreds of people around the world, but he couldn’t imagine life or “freedom” as anything more meaningful than enjoying the petty creature comforts common to the imperial core.

In shilling for NATO’s war on Libya, Bourdain implored viewers to ignore the inconvenient facts (“what’s on the news”) and instead give themselves over to the comforting storyness of the story (“the bigger picture”). Here, Bourdain demonstrated the propaganda utility of “stories,” and why they have been made popular and why we will keep hearing about the precious value of “stories.”

And the article caps it all off with this excellent summation

Those mourning Bourdain’s death can take comfort in the fact that there are likely thousands more aspiring Bourdains out there right now — sons and daughters of privilege who can put a woke spin on American exceptionalism through touching personal narratives and outsider branding. Bourdain was an innovator, though, and he was uniquely good at delivering his propaganda payloads. But when it came to the imperialist lies which were his bread and butter, Bourdain was really just like any amateur chef making spaghetti: he threw a strand at the wall and if it didn’t stick, he tried again a few minutes later until it did.

The whole Bourdain quote about beating Kissinger to death rings very hollow when you remember that Bourdain was a straight up US State Department asset; "Henry Kissinger for people who drink craft beer". Like you know that if Bourdain had been had been born a few decades earlier he would have gone on about how the beautiful people of South Vietnam are under threat from oppressive Northerners infiltrating from their border with the ineffectual regime running Cambodia. Like that Kissinger quote is an excellent example of how liberals will condemn every atrocity but the one currently happening. And to paraphrase that quote; once you've been Libya, you'll never stop wanting to beat Anthony Bourdain to death with your bare hands"
