Opfergang (1944), directed by Veit Harlan
Münchhausen (1943), directed by Josef von Báky
Münchhausen (1943), directed by Josef von Báky
Comparison between original faded [as seen in Opfergang’s, but to so much Münchhausen’s] Agfacolor safety prints (acetate) used as the foundation for their restorations.
All film photographs/scans (which correspond to a screencap) are courtesy of Timeline of Historical Film Colors and the associated owners of the referred materials. I do not claim any rights to them whatsoever.
Appreciation to the Fredrich Wilhem Marnau Foundation and their partners for releasing many of the important film history that defined the Nazi Germany, Third Reich era. I only wish that these films aren’t gate-keeped, but instead made more accessible to audiences and those who seek them out for educational purposes (such as myself and many others). That being said, I understand the delicacy of that concern and these affairs.
