Dreamers as tumblr users AU
Because my brain can and WILL go off the deep end off absolutely nothing
Mado posts a bunch of art and music with zero tags or description and is famous somehow, she's kinda seen as a cryptid.
Uro throws everything on one blog [anime gifs, recipes, goofy animal vids that she always tags as #THISISMEEEE, funky tunes, ect], she's amassed a large following due to unhinged text posts and drawings of cursed lil guys
Sabi has a gore/macabre horror blog, sometimes posts selfies in goth outfits that Uro reblogs and gushes over in the tags
Sou does gothic writing stuff, he's the kind that takes the writing prompt of the day sorta stuff and runs with it. Also gives long thought out advice when asked and is surprisingly chill. Uro posted a selfie with him once [his face was censored with a cat sticker] and people lost their mind
Tats/Lefia share a blog and sign their post with either ᘛ⁐ᕐᐷ or ⊹₊♚₊⊹ to show who's posting. It's overall really cute stuff but sometimes Tats posts a bunch of depressing shit out of the blue and freaks people out.
Muma and Sometsuki have really simple blogs full of bunnies with random aesthetic posts here and there. Sometsuki's has lo-fi with violin bgm
more random interactions under cut cause I don't wanna drop a tolkein novel of dreamer thoughts in tags.
The closest thing anyone's ever gotten to Mado speaking was when Uro asked if she likes cats and she replied with, "ↀᆺↀ"
People begged Uro to get Mado to say more and she always responds with absurd nonsense like, "I cannot force the Mado to speak, she offers her words as blessings and we should be thankful for when she graces us."
Sometimes Uro's a clown on Tat's post and Tats just responds with "ᘛ⁐ᕐᐷ ✂"
Sabi and Tats did a Silent Hill cosplay together one time [Sabi was Heather Mason, Tats was some little monster child]. People still get surprised every time Tats shows their horror fan side.
Sabi sometimes makes edits/art as covers for Sou's writing and vice versa
It's hilarious seeing Sou's more serious/somber posts get broken up by him responding to some nonsense from Uro like, "Every day I wonder what I did to deserve your acquaintanceship." [uro just replies with, "aw, you know you love me~"]
Muma somehow has a thing like shimeji set up on her blog so you can interact with the little bunnies on it.

- My School President End Notes -
So, I've finally finished watching My School President, after a ton of push from my friends, and here I am! It was a wonderfully sweet, adorable and innocent high school BL show, which stole my heart and made me emotional in too many ways.
In this review, I'll address a few of the best things that I enjoyed the most regarding MSP. So, stay tuned for what's coming ahead!
1. Musicality of the Show
I've never seen a BL show with so many amazing Osts, and musicality stuffed inside it. When I started out with the first episode, I was freaking hooked to the intro, like it was so good. Then the other songs which were introduced later in the show, or which then band has sung, over all I adore and cherish each and every song and composition the show has brought it. There were happy songs, romantic ones, and even realistic ones.
Tumblr media
But the best part was how they've had also introduced the funky dancing numbers as well. As a huge music lover, I enjoyed every bit of soaking into the dance and music of the show. The actors did an immaculate job at portraying marvelous skills through their singing and dancing skills, and I just simply loved it all. Music has to be the major theme of the show, over all - because it certainly caught my entire attention just from this aspect.
2. Messages on Following your Dreams
Another strong message that I've felt through out the show was how they've consistently emphasised on the beauty, yearning and struggles of following what one truly loves. What makes the concept more appealing that they've successfully portrayed the realistic harsh side that drags you down from moving ahead. I was utterly heartbroken when Chinzilla didn't win the Hot Wave awards, because personally I've been a massive fan of their music. But once, that part portrayed how life is not always fair, and you'd always have someone who is better than you in every competition in your life, and that part hit hard.
Tumblr media
When Gun auditioned for another music show recommended by Tinn, he was disappointed again because he wasn't the best one out there, which is always relatable. Even if we do our best, it is guaranteed that world will treat us kindly. But what matters the most is keep going, polishing your skills and passion, and doing it for the love of it - that is one thing that will fruitfullly keep you motivated on your journey. The constant feeling of giving up, the repetitive defeat of the band members felt too emotional for me, because I could feel it on such a deep level - that was a freaking realistic truth from such an innocently adorable high school BL show.
3. Innocence in Love
My School President has become the quintessence of the first childhood love. The most delicate and sweetest kind of love that blooms between two kids for the first time in their life and the portrayal of this wonderful thing has been successfully executed in the entire show. The confession scene of TinnGun was literally my favourite out of all confesion scenes, maybe because the quick and realistic approach of it. The way Tinn just hinted it out casually when Gun asked, and how even Gun somehow understood exactly what he meant.
Tumblr media
The whole interaction was subtle and yet so deep, which actually happens in real life. That's what attracted me the most. I loved how TinnGun represented the purest form of love, without physical vulgarity or lust - it was simply two people wholeheartedly in love. Love is unconditional, love is about seeing the other person happy, and TinnGun have manifested this kind of love effortlessly through their charismatic performance, and I absolutely cherish it.
4. SoundWin
C'mon, I had to mention them because they flourished a new kind of interest in me throughout the show. For me, they were the most appealing part of the show - I was always looking out for more of their chemistry and interactions. I think SoundWin had the best kind of love story development I've seen so far - realistically speaking. When these two first were introduced to one another, has anyone of us thought they're gonna be a thing? Well, not for me. They two had the most casual and realistic romantic development that I absolutely loved.
Tumblr media
Their love wasn't based on first sight or physical attraction, but as they proceeded on getting to know one another, getting to share personal stories with one another, they fell. Honestly, their chemistry is extremely sizzling, prove me wrong. Like their bandmates say, even when they bicker, chemistry is overflowing and I totally agree with that. It was so satisfying to see how Win silently cares for Sound when he had wrist pain, or how Sound constantly looks out for Win especially he's feeling broken, especially after the Hot Wave. I just am being fan of cute bickering couples, so automatically SoundWin just effortlessly pulled me in.
5. Packed with Supportive Characters
The show has the perfect combination of the best supporting characters ever, whether it is about the positive parenthood from the parents of TinnGun, or about the genuine friendship that is emphasised among the band teammates. I've immensely enjoyed how genuine, well-wishing people are around this entire show. It depicts how there are actually kind people around who are willing to have your backs and always end you whenever you're feeling down. My favourite supportive characters has to be Tiw, and TinnGun's parents. Tiw has been the best boy throughout the series, with innate helpfulness along with multitasking to help out others - Tiw is a marvelous character.
Tumblr media
He has always got Tinn's back - it doesn't matter if he has to be a MV director, tutor, promoter or even a dancing coach, he is ready for all of it, if it helps his friends. On the other hand, the parents of the show displayed the ideal parenthood that must be looked up to. The fact that despite being of different mindsets, both TinnGun's parents had the welfare and happiness of their children in their minds all the time. They never forced their children, but tried to understand them and encourage them who they are and what they love. I hope more parents start achieving this standard, because this united efforts makes the world a much better place.
Tumblr media
My School President is a charming cute BL show, that has stole my heart with it's wonderful characters, shared passion for dreams and most importantly the positivity that it portrayed. It surely has be the most green-flag BL I've ever watched. From the healthy handling of conflicts to the sweet pure interactions between two high-schoolers - this BL is another unique addition to chain of the most beautiful BL shows ever made.

My top 10 favorite music projects of 2023 ૢ✧∘* ✧・゚
Tumblr media
Welcome to this list that 2 people were mildly anticipating tops, a list where I ramble about note sequences that give me a sense of enjoyment, which is essentially what this blog of mine is dedicated to. I’ve been on this site for more than a year now, I had the pleasure of interacting and chatting with my lovely mutuals who share my silly little interests, both here and on @akaneverse. At the end of last year, I simply uploaded a topster of my favorite albums and EPs, and this December, I’m taking my time to review said projects, and show them appreciation with words and expressions slightly bigger than “the production is so insane” and “BANGER”. This year has been good to me as a music enjoyer, with new releases from my longer-time faves and incredible new discoveries, some possibly becoming all-time faves, which will be mentioned in the post. Pitchfork, your bankruptcy is nearing. And yes, the GIF is a spoiler.
⑩ Ichijikikoku (EP) - Atarashii Gakko!
I can say I somewhat got into Japanese music this year and this anti-idol group with a school leader concept looking camp right in the eye were some of the first artists that caught my attention. Having accidentally come across them through snooping around a beloved mutual’s Spotify profile, the quality of their songs such as Pineapple Kryptonite, Nainainai and Freaks caught me off guard in a great way. Their discography offers various genres such as robotic chant-filled hyperpop, groovy city pop, alternative rock, hip-hop and their latest EP truly showcases their diversity and range. From Otona Blue, the funky pop song that was the push start for the girls to get their rightful recognition, to a revisit to their older rock sound, to their first club banger and more city pop hits, this EP presents what their music has to offer in a nutshell. 2023 treated the school leaders well as they both got their deserved success and delivered a well-rounded project along with other listen-worthy singles.
Favorite tracks: Otome no Bigaku and Giri Giri.
youtube
⑨ 3 of Us (EP) - FLO
After taking the Internet’s ‘00s R&B revivalists and girl group appreciators by storm with their first EP Cardboard Box in 2022, this iconic trio went on an ongoing streak to constantly deliver the best and improve their music and skills. 3 of Us serves as lunchables before the upcoming full-course meal which is their debut album, and not so surprisingly considering the consistent high quality of the group’s releases, the snack surely is fulfilling. Two of the tunes were anticipated then-unreleased songs but the title track and the later added-on Suite Life were loved by us FLOlifers as well. The four songs showcase both the group’s incredible vocals and their empowering no-nonsense attitude. The title track is an anthem that shows the world the girls have each other’s backs, through a smooth execution of a humorous scenario of a guy simultaneously trying to toy with the 3 of them. FLO are real it girls, and this mini alone is definitely convincing of that enough.
Favorite tracks: what if I said all of them?
youtube
⑧ MY World (EP) - aespa
aespa have long-ago established their cybergirl fighter Kwangya concept and a solid spot in the K-pop industry as a group with one of the strongest group identities, top-notch discographies and powerful vocals. I slowly fell in love with them in 2021 and they have been one of the very few anchors to my interest in K-pop lately. Through mismanagement and complete bs coming from their crappy record label, standing ten toes down with these girls and experiencing the comeback of the summer was 100% worth it. Though the label needs to pull themselves together a little for the creative direction of all of their groups, MY World offered aespa’s two different takes on the summer which somehow felt fresh and unique, still suiting the group and proving aespacore’s wide range. The music, however, gave the signature aespa sound we had missed because of the music drought. Reol and Slayyyter’s souls truly split into two each, possessing the four members and giving us the gritty, in-your-face EDM banger that is the lead single Spicy. Welcome to MY World, the mini’s pre-release single, on the other hand, is an orchestral, alluring alternative pop track, which is a genre I never knew I needed aespa to dip their toes into. Salty and Sweet is a package delivery for the MYs who are especially seated for aespa’s metallic hyperpop releases, while Thirsty is contemporary R&B with a bubbly aespacore twist to it and I’m Unhappy is a splendid hyperballad. No offense but had they left the basic and frankly flow-disrupting ballad ‘Til We Meet Again in the vault, the ranking of the EP would be higher on here, and this is my only criticism of the project music-wise. As I always say on aespa comeback release days: the girls did it again.
Favorite tracks: answer changes every 5 business days but right now I’m gonna go with Welcome to MY World and Spicy.

⑦ Crying in the Carwash (EP) - Lolo Zouaï
I’ve been keeping up with Lolo Zouaï on the low (pun intended, see Encore) since the release day of her sophomore album PLAYGIRL but I might have to pay closer attention to her because of her elevated excellence showcased on this mini. Besides giving her more freedom over her work and artistic direction, returning to her independent artist days allowed her to wiggle more with her own feelings and experiences directly, as opposed to the personas she conveyed the story of PLAYGIRL through. Before the unveiling of the EP, the roll-out fully hooked me in with both the singles and mesmerizing visuals. Encore was the perfect earworm-y invitation to the era, and Crying in the Carwash showed us the rainy panorama none other than Lolo’s mind with soft, melancholic jungle drums as the track’s stand-out point. The rest of the three songs, sitting prettily in the middle, give us soulful R&B blessed with the artist’s gentle vocal runs and UK garage reminiscent of e-motions by Mura Masa and Erika de Casier. All in all, I can’t be the only one who can’t wait to see what Zouaï will have to offer with her future work.
Favorite track: Crying in the Carwash.

⑥ ESFERA DE AMOR - Simona
Esfera de Amor? In “my top 10 favorite projects of the year”? More like “top 10 most slept on albums of the year”. I’m not saying this just because of my personal opinion or just by looking at the streaming numbers either. This project is worth checking out for everyone looking for ethereal, light, bubbly pop à la 4th gen K-pop girl group music. Simona took recent pop micro-trends such as the incorporation of house, UK garage, hyperpop, neo-reggaeton and baile funk, and shaped them up into her very own world of love. The record, while being a relatively easy listen and having the ability to appeal to a wider audience, keeps you attentive and never bored, with an intro that leaves the sense of time and reality behind to make room for dancing and a classy vintage-style interlude. At one stop you unwind, at the second you dance at midnight in your bedroom, and at another you’re an otherworldly romantic. Feel free to do whatever you please, because after all, you’re in a sphere of love where everything’s fine.
Favorite tracks: Adentro de Mí, Polidrama, Plush, Meloni and Llaga Verdadera.
youtube
⑤ BB/ANG3L - Tinashe
Tinashe has been an impactful figure in modern R&B for nearly a decade now, with her resumé ranging from choreography material groovy bops to heartfelt, calmer, vocal-heavy songs. BB/ANG3L, in the musician’s own words, combines her past and her present, her darker debut day sound with her faster-paced, catchier, dreamy tunes. The songwriting keeps it real and personal: we go from a dramatic reflection on a toxic relationship, to wanting to be pampered and treated with respect and class, to more reflections and slowly letting go. In the music video for Talk To Me Nice, Tinashe peels away her former self and gets purified with the dripping water, getting down to her essence. (I will further elaborate on my newly found love for water concepts/metaphors in some next entries.) Thanks to producer Machinedrum, garage and dnb rhythms (can you tell those are my weaknesses yet?) are beautifully incorporated in two of the tracks, and the production is atmospheric and tastefully bleak throughout the entire tracklist. Keeping up with Tinashe’s releases for a good while, a couple of years in my case, remains a pleasure with this project of hers.
Favorite track: answer changes often once again and this time I’m picking Tightrope.
youtube
④ Raven - Kelela
If there were courses on how to take breaks of long years after releasing a top-tier album and make an even more world-shaking, majestic comeback, Raven would be the diligently studied textbook. Though I personally can’t relate to the 6-year wait as I discovered Kelela at the beginning of this year, my commentary is unnecessary for one to know she is a legend whose impact on alternative R&B, dance music and neo-soul is not up for any questioning. While Raven has even more of a slower and sultrier side than before, the intimacy and maturity stays consistent whether we’re talking jungle, aurora-like synths or soothing orchestration. It’s a true, well-constructed and developed body of fruitful work, with seamless thought-out sequencing, an art that’s being kept alive by artists that rightfully value it. Motifs reappearing in her previous albums such as “all the way down”, “on the run”, “far away” make their returns, but in no way does anything feel repetitive or any less unique. The album cover art and the music videos for Washed Away and Enough for Love present us more water imagery that couldn’t have been any more suitable for the sultriness and haziness of the record. Raven is the deep melancholic ocean that you trust to wrap your body around, where you witness musical scenery that’s so breath-taking that you can barely tell if it’s real.
Favorite track: On the Run.
youtube
Let’s get some honorable mentions out of the way before the top 3: Heaven knows by PinkPantheress (literally 11th place, Feelings was on repeat for like a week straight), My 21st Century Blues by Raye (robbed by the Scammys), Unlock My World by fromis_9 (if I make a best ‘23 K-pop b-side list Prom Night has a high spot secured), seOul collection by OnlyOneOf (I ignore the old tracks included in the album and candy bOmb is the K-pop b-side of the year) and Bébe Yana’s singles this year bc even though they’re not a body of work they’re too good not to get a shout-out.
③ Code Ge4ss - 4s4ki
As I was getting into Japanese music in March, I suddenly wondered whether there was a full-fledged hyperpop or experimental electronic music scene in Japan. After a quick Google search, an interesting artist popped up, with the metallic cybercore aesthetic I’ve been craving more of on the cover art of her latest album called Killer in Neverland. Interesting album name, intriguing song titles too, and as soon as I heard Log Out she took it in my eyes, there and then. Listening to Killer in Neverland as a whole took my shock to another level. Who was this and why did her music satisfy my cravings to this extent? As I went through her discography in a day or two, I fell deeper and deeper in love with her enchanting production (she’s her very own producer, mind you), crunchy autotuned vocals that somehow sound magical, her risk-taking unique concepts, something in between camp and outright beautiful visuals, precisely crafted songwriting and artistry. She manages to be the perfect amount of fun, the perfect amount of edgy, the perfect amount of bright, the perfect amount of sharp, the perfect amount of real, the perfect amount of satirical, the perfect amount of joyful, the perfect amount of sad on each and every project of hers. What didn’t hit me like a truck at first, however, is her tremendous improvement as a musician in pretty much every aspect: production, songwriting, album cohesion, creative direction, visuals. Not until her latest album Code Ge4ss finally got released in late June.
I was confused at first at the Code Geass anime collab thing, I wasn’t exactly sure of the release date and whether 4s4ki was actually releasing yet another scrumptious FULL album not too long after I got into her. The album dropped, I was tuned in right at midnight and my already high expectations were surpassed. Banging (kicking if you will) Jersey club beats, birds chirping accompanying glitchy trap instrumentals, screams followed by almost Machine Girl-level noisy circuit board sorcery, samples of characters’ speeches over electro guitar riffs, a piano interlude paired with opera runs taken from the show, pacifying ballads which are a mix of acoustic guitar and hard-hitting pots-pans and 8-bit synths, all closed by surreal orchestration with the classic electronica touches of 4s4ki and collaborator producer Kotonohouse. I’m sure I’d appreciate the Code Geass-themed lyricism on an even deeper level if I hadn’t paused watching the anime after 5 episodes like the terrible TV consumer I am. What I can be certain about is that everything about this project feels genuine and from within because it IS genuine and from within. 4s4ki couldn’t have been a more suitable choice for this collaboration, she’s been a fan of the franchise since elementary school and very few emit the weird cyber-glitchcore internet baby aesthetics the way she does. The cover art is stunning and references the series once again, and the Shirley MV leaves us with calming visuals that may remind you of Welcome to MY World by aespa, which spoke to the aespa x 4s4ki truther in me.
As I was saying, this album is what really rubbed her major progress as an artist and musician in my face. We’ve gone such a long way from the calmer EDM-pop antics of Your Dreamland, for example, not even to mention the synth-pop balladry in her debut Gender. Every era of hers sonically gets increasingly complex and intense and ethereal, and in every body of work she leaves in a bigger, more intimate piece of her. There’s just so much personality in everything she puts out and presents. She built her sonic and artistic identity from the bottom to the top and even as a fan for less than a year, continuing to witness this makes me feel pure admiration. Words aren’t enough to properly express how I feel about her art but that won’t stop me from typing up paragraphs to try to get someone to understand me on this. People have various opinions on 4s4ki’s experimentation and self-expression, however what absolutely nobody can ever deny is that she’s a true artist, visionary and one of the most skilled producers of this generation. 2023 brought her both achievements and unfortunately some hardships, and I sincerely hope 2024 is kinder and even more generous to her. (She’s not done with taking over the year yet! Stream her new single Continue and stay tuned for winter again coming Dec 15.)
Favorite track: Eleven.

② Fountain Baby - Amaarae
I touched upon my adoration for water imagery on my entries for BB/ANG3L and Raven but as you can see from the title, Fountain Baby took the theme to an entirely different level. The analogy potential of water is infinite as the fluidity, cadence, calmness, riptides, uncertainty, contradictions of water can very well be converted into the multi-faceted human emotion. The same water that you’re dependent on in order to live can poison you at an overload, the same water that rinses your body and soul can drown and choke you up when contacted with the wrong places. Fountain Baby expresses various moods and states of mind not only through concept visuals, but more importantly by sprinkling water euphemisms throughout the entire record: “fountain baby, wash her, make it wet”, “water on my neck, come make it warm”, “water from wine”, “water, it mix with the substance” being prominent examples. Amaarae chats love, sensuality, materialism and lastly, meeting your maker in a way other than passing away. She defines a “fountain baby” as “a person with endless charisma, someone that is abundant in their blessings and ultimately a blessed child of God.” The universe Fountain Baby resides in is essentially rich, delicate, cloudy and raw.
While water is a consistent element of the album, it was far from being Amaarae’s only source of inspiration. She draws on ‘00s pop staples Timbaland and Britney Spears, The Neptunes, Clipse (sampled in Counterfeit), Janet Jackson, Missy Elliott and diverse genres such as Afro-beats, classic and contemporary hip-hop, Americana punk rock and dance. The melting pot of live orchestra, harps, baile funk, tire whirring, R&B-infused shiny Afro-futurism, Japanese folk song samples, Chinese bow violins, Arabic scales, gunshot and cash register clicking sounds, mid-song switches that make you feel like the main character of a coming of age movie, glitter and sax and guitars creates a record that refuses to be boxed into one genre or label. A “clever alchemist” and “a chemist who fuses world music” are titles that are deservingly given to the artist for these reasons. The record has plenty of variety yet the sequence all comes together akin to a satisfying crossword. It’s lucrative and shimmery but has its child-like, playful side that’s a natural result of Amaarae getting in touch with her inner 8 year-old during the cultivation process. The music videos are all different but inseparable approaches to the Fountain Baby-verse. The MV for the first pre-release Reckless and Sweet is based on editorials and has a silky luxurious look, with direct hints at the album’s concept. Co-Star, the second pre-release, casts zodiac signs as racer-models and fast cars come running around in a competition, keeping the high fashion coded color grading and filming style. The music video for the lead single Wasted Eyes is heavily inspired by the film Rush Hour and pays homage to Japanese culture about as much as the song does (it’s worth to mention the song is co-written by the iconic Crystal Kay whose speech you can hear in it). The intricacy and planning of every aspect of this era is pop music at its peak. With Fountain Baby, Amaarae finds the epitome of pop perfection without special dedication to seeking it.
Favorite track: Wasted Eyes.

① Ambrosia (EP) - Namasenda
Some projects make your jaw drop from the get-go, some others grow on you with some time. Ambrosia crept up on me the longer I kept it on repeat, all the way to being my favorite project of this year. I already enjoyed Namasenda’s previous songs such as Black Ops 2, Demonic and the pre-release single maserati. As I later found more about the background of the project, how its concept came together and read the translation of the lyrics to rosa, my love for the it multiplied. Right now if I were to describe the EP in two simple words, they would be “ethereal”, “gorgeous” and “atmospheric”. These words are used with way more power than you may realize this time.
Sonically, the already unique artist stays true to herself but the execution of her vision is somehow… better than her previous work. north star and deathrow bby are unorthodox but celestial perspectives on baile funk, the former being a siren-like intro-lude that lures you in and the latter having a slightly haunting catchy Europop inspired jingle feel, serving as closer out of the 4 songs. maserati is a fresh take on polished but cutting pop, while rosa is a divine ballad that takes you to a dream realm. “Unconditionally here / I mean what I promise / When the sky is completely pink”, she sings in her home language Swedish, over the Casey MQ co-produced blissful synths. Maybe it’s executive producer Simon on the Moon’s musical genius (he’s also to be thanked for his involvement in Natural Brown Prom Queen by Sudan Archives), maybe it’s Namasenda unveiling a more authentic side of herself and therefore causing the music to be the most authentic version of itself. This authenticity drips through the production, the visuals and the lyrics. The stark contrast between Ambrosia and the jeweled, metallic, extreme meta-pop in her previous work, specifically Unlimited Ammo, opens up a conversation on the future of hyperpop.
Besides the heavy, detail-embroidered production, the focus of hyperpop was pretty much always exaggerating the artificial aspects of pop music, such as vocal manipulation, heavy bass, deafening drums, unforgettable melodies and shallow lyrics. How long could one use these funnily unrealistic musical personas before wanting to face themselves and do a deeper, more pure dive on pop? This I-D article on PC Music (the record label pioneering the hyperpop scene) shutting down concludes with “Perhaps it’s time to get off the computer and rediscover the personal.” Indeed, we can’t exactly reach a verdict on whether “hyperpop” will become just another fad or not, but moving on from simply exaggerating pop to expanding, beautifying and authenticating its sound isn’t an inaccurate prediction. 4s4ki and Namasenda (who, by the way, parted ways with PCMus before Ambrosia) are two of the artists that embody the beautiful, complex hyperpop-transcendent sound and experimental electronic pop music is in good hands thanks to artists like them.
To finish off this entry, Ambrosia manages to pinpoint exactly what I like to hear, both characteristics that I mentioned and things you can’t really put into sentences, only listen to and let them sink in. The production is some of the most stunning I’ve ever heard in my life, the EP is cohesive despite the short 9-minute run time, the visuals are simple but creative and the craft is passionate and genuine. Next time somebody asks me about the music I like, I’m sending them this EP with no further elaboration as it summarizes my tastes like no other body of work ever has.
Favorite track: rosa, it also grew on me the most drastically.
youtube
Now to end this post, every year gives me brand new outlooks on how I consume music and the details I notice, the things I pay attention to. 2023 was filled to the brim with musicians offering their own outlooks on how they create. I’m keeping my eye on the masterpieces that will come out of 2024 and I wonder how my interests will transform with me next year.
Hey @nayeonline (special thankies for indirectly fueling my writing process) and @timetravellingkitty, I wiggled my keyboard a bit 😗

🎶✨️when you get this, put 5 songs you actually listen to, then publish. Send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (positivity is cool)🎶✨️
Oooh I love this thank you!! Buckle up peeps I like some weird shit huehuehue 1- Funky and upbeat af- I freaking LOVE Big Gigantic; there's just something about electronic music that also has a sax in it lmao~ Great tune to just lay back and vibe to with a joint.
2- And now for something COMPLETELY different: I am a sucker for latin choirs in general. Mix that with classical and electronic music? Apashe is a visionary and everything he touches becomes a banger.
3- Let's go clubbing! This feels so nostalgic 'cause it remixes an oldie but goldie track by Safri-Duo and gives it a new yet distinctly 90's feel and it makes me astral-project every time I hear it.
4- Let's pepper in a little bit of drum'n'bass in this year of 2024! The original is so good but this remix works so damn well I think I like it better lmao
5- Let's finish it up with a dark, gritty mid-tempo beat. Love love love REZZ. I've been obsessed with this song since it came out; it kind of brings out my inner slut lmao
That's all folks!

off of that album, it was very hard to pick favorites, but overture and acid queen are prob my top picks, i love songs with vocals but instruments always go so hard too! i feel like i listen to instrumental songs so much, they always help me focus more :) do you have any favorite instrumentals? my favs, in no particular order would have to be anybody there by rainbow, yyz by rush, forbidden city by marty friedman, eruption by van halen, or son of alerik by deep purple, but also think i'll be adding the overture from tommy by the who to my list as well!
-pickle
Good instrumentals are beating everything really! Oh yes, I do have a long list of favorite instrumentals, both from bands and video games, so without further ado!
First bands - one for each: - Bonzo's Montreux by Led Zeppelin - I know, I know, it's a drum solo, but it's an instrumental so I'm throwing it here! - Flying by The Beatles - probably the only one they have on their studio albums, but I could forget about something. Either way, I love it, mainly for its atmosphere - Rockestra Theme by Wings - BONZO ON DRUMS! ENOUGH SAID! - The Mule by Deep Purple - IAN'S DRUM SOLO, ENOUGH SAID! - Cobwebs and Strange by The Who - as much as I love "Overture", "Quadrophenia", "The Rock", "The Ox", this is a fucking goat and I will defend this crazy piece of chaotic music with MY LIFE
And now to games - three for each, focusing on personal favorites: Earthboud: - Smiles and Tears - end credit theme. You know, you are at the end of a childhood adventure and you hear this while photos that were taken throughout the game by a photographer who tells you to say "Fuzzy Pickles!" each time roll on the screen... It just brings tears every time to my eyes - Because I Love You - the theme that plays when everything's over and you're walking back home. I'm a sentimental piece of shit, I love this tune so much! - Boy Meets Girl - I had troubles with choosing between this and two other town themes, but this one just sounds nostalgic to me. Maybe because while watching a let's play from it when I was tiny and when replaying the game each year I tend to stand and do nothing, listening to the theme. I just love it <3
Rayman 3: - The Fairy Council - Under The Starlight - again, a very nostalgic tune. It just sounds freaking magical <3 - The Land of the Livid Dead - otherworldly sound for a world with spirits in them. They don't make such music in games anymore *sobs* - The Summit Beyond the Clouds - snowy land with Christmas like music. Don't get fooled tho, those levels are harsh XD
Rayman 1: - First Steps - funky music very catchy, absolute favorite of the entire game! - The Stalactites' Teardrops - cave music, but WHAT a cave music! - Venomous Mr Skops - and let's give some final boss' of the world music going! The boss is shit, the stage after him is even worse, this whole game is unfair, BUT this boss theme kicks ass - DRUMS DRUMS DRUMS
Silent Hill 2: - Promise - this instrumental, this fucking guitar, THIS FUCKING EVERYTHING IN THIS ONE, BUT MOSTLY THE GUITAR. I shit you not, I had this tune on my phone ring for two years, only changed it because I felt like it, but I love it - this started the theme that my phone ring has to have an instrumental with a guitar in it - Theme of Laura - opening music theme, I get shivers by hearing it. I'm all about drums but the guitar in this one and the guitar in general, so dark, I fucking love it! - Terror in The Depths of The Fog - an unusual track, but the beat somehow gets into your eardrums, drilling slowly, not to mention the noise that gets louder later on, soundtrack to this entire fucking game is a motherfucking masterpiece, go listen to it
Ib: - Old Puppet - first instrumental in any game that made me uneasy and I was what? 12 years old maybe? Or a bit older - Memory - only musicbox, but what a good musicbox joined by other sounds later on - Dining Room - the piano in this one, GOSH. It's somehow calm at first and then it gets creepy. Just <3
Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards: - Miracle Matter Battle Theme - kicking off with a boss theme, the best one in the game for me. Quick, intense, what only Kirby music has to offer! - Inside The Ruins - I love weird music and this is the peak of it - Pop Star Theme - the "ding dong" gets me every time, I love this chaos
Kirby's Return to Dream Land: - Welcome Your New Overlord - final boss music again, because it slays. Quick, chaotic, intense the general peak of this game soundtrack - AND THE TEMPO CHANGES!!! - Otherworldly Warrior - heavy metal in Kirby? You bet your ass it is there and it's as fast paced as you could imagine. Only once did I get to fight with Galacta Knight and it was worth it. Difficult but worth it, for this tune only! - Techno Factory - plays at one of my favorite stages in Egg Engines, what could I want more?
Ace Attorney series: - Detention Center ~ Prisoner's Elegy - probably the most depressing tune in the entire series - counting in the first four games I've played only - is my favorite. The piano is a killer, I can't help it - Victory! ~ The First Victory - I was mad about this one when I heard it for the first time. It still has a special place in my heart <3 - Damon Gant ~ Swimming, Anyone? - *throws his theme here, because I love this asshole way too much* also it sounds so badass!
Undertale: - Waterfall - best tune in the entire game. Plays in a cave of some sort, with history of the world and memories seem to flow around, like soft petals of the blue flowers you can find there. Water giving that otherworldly feeling <3 - Spider Dance - old, retro, Toby Fox at his best, nothing will convince me otherwise - Respite - did you notice that I like a sad sounding piano? Not yet? Then check this one out
Deltarune: - Field of Hopes and Dreams - first one that caught my attention in this game, it has a special place in my heart as well - A Town Called Hometown - it's incredible how you can put the feeling of longing and family atmosphere into music, eh? - Spamton - this one is better than "Big Shot" somehow for me. Probably because of the sus atmosphere in it
Deponia series: - How About a Bit More Enthusiasm - for such a cheerful game this one is very depressing, but also beautiful in a way <3 - Life Goes On - a bit of hope in this one, but it hits more harder when you know the story, especially that when you first play the third game in the series you somehow start to feel like there's not gonna be a happy end. The tune somehow spoils it, very subtly - Dark and Dirty Fairy Tales - like from a fairy tale, right? Playing in the sewers actually
Homestuck - honorable mention with only one track, because I still need to finish reading it to judge properly, but this: - Descend - is a fucking masterpiece

OKAY I've gathered my thoughts and I am back with more octotrio headcanons!!! I felt kinda bad having such a heavy bias but then I realized most of us have a bias towards them and felt better XDD
Starting with Azul!! Azul does drag and is absolutely a drag queen, it makes SENSE!!! He is canonically based off a drag queen (Ursula is based on a drag queen and Azul is based on Ursula)!!!!! He's such a theater kid this is just a branching path of that, he loves attention and praise and the DRAMA!! He was made for this I KNOW it! Also also, he's totally been spoiled with land beds and comforts, like he's got the biggest bed and all the pillows and blankets and comforters, he has multitude weighted blankets for that sweet sweet squish, he's like the princess and the pea when something is out of place in his perfectly designed nest of comfort. Also I'm pretty sure this is canon, but like Azul is so freaking strong?? Like something rolls under a sofa at the lounge and he's like "ugh fine" and lifts it up with one hand and is like "well?? Grab the stupid thing, I have things to do" and people are just staring at him because WOAHHHH,,, STRONG! Azul let's Floyd do the squeezing because if he himself were to get angry with someone anf squeeze them, it would be FATAL. Like all ribs broken, spine snapped, didn't stand a damn chance. And now it's time to project againnn!!! So when octopi get bored/understimulated, they start biting and tearing off their own limbs because they simply cannot cope, and Azul is an octopus AND autistic so when he's understimulated he 100% starts biting his nails, his cuticles, his knuckles, until his hands are just messed up and scarred (why he prefers to wear gloves) and in his mer form his tentacles aren't safe either, he gets stressed or too bored and he just starts nibbling, someone get this boy a game or a puzzle STAT. Speaking of nibbles, his blood is blue!! In his mer form it's not super noticeable, but in his human form where humans with his complexion usually have warm pink or red undertones, his is a cool blue. When he's flustered or embarrassed he blushes blue! Do you SEE my vision it's GOD TIER!!!! His pupils are also rectangular like an octopus, sorry I don't make the rules (I'm not sorry and I do).
Next is Floyd!! Okay. So. His playlist is the BIGGEST mix bag of genres ever, he has all KINDS of funky tunes on there but the key ingredient is ENERGETIC!!! He needs music that's LOUD and CHAOTIC and he can DANCE TO, doesn't matter what it's about he just needs that ENERGY!!!!! Also this is random but, he's been humbled by bugs on multiple occasions. Like, he comes to land and he thinks it's so funny how people are scared of such small fry! So silly so stupid!! And then he gets stung by a wasp and his mood is ruined for a WEEK, nobody can tell him SHIT while he recovers, he's never been more upset in his life (lies). He also has beef with mosquitoes, like what do you MEAN on land there's bugs so tiny you can barely see them, can't even FEEL when they bite you, and they TAKE your BLOOD???? And they have the audacity to leave this big red itchy spot after they STEAL from you!!! He couldn't be more angry if he tried!!!! Not to mention the little fuckers have PREFERENCES and swarm him while Jade is left completely untouched!!! Azul gets some too but never as many as Floyd, he is so so bitter. OH OH ALSO HE WEARS DRESSES AND SKIRTS!!! They remind him of a jellyfish when he spins and they aren't constricting!!! He loves the flowy loose ones and loses his MIND when he can find a dress or skirt with pockets, it will immediately become his favorite article of clothing until he finds a new favorite next week!! He also loves using fun phone cases and phone charms, cool colorful shoelaces and beads, all kinds of stuff to express himself with fashion without the tight feeling of clothes!!!
It's JADE TIME BABY!! So, Jade is mainly appearance headcanons because I know in my heart he is alt as hell, like on campus he's all business and suits, but if you see him just going about his day on the island? ALT ALT ALT ALT!!!! He's punk as hell dude, custom jacket and big platform boots and all! He makes his own mushroom patches and pins, has wildlife conservation patches and mountain patches, frogs, deer, all kinds of fun land animals that he loves!! He also has slightly longer hair, but when he's not in business mode he ties it up in a small pony to show off his side shave on either side!! He has snake bites, dimple piercings, basically every possible ear piercing, a septum, eyebrow piercing, nose bridge pierced, he's got it ALL!!! He wears fingerless gloves too, or if it's a no glove day he wears tons of rings!!
TRIO HEADCANONS!! Okay so the gang all just decided to use he/him on land to make things easier for land dwellers and their silly little boxes of gender, but all of them either have no gender to begin with or a gender so complex and cosmic in nature it cannot be properly described/addressed. When they're alone though, Floyd and Azul will actually use she/they pronouns for Jade more often than he/him saying it "just feels right, I dunno". Jade agrees, but she doesn't really care what pronouns people use at the end of the day, just don't make her make your pronouns was/were.
BONUS RUGGIE??? Listen this is so random but so correct- Ruggie's taste in music mainly consists of female rappers. DONT ASK ME HOW WE GOT HERE, just know I'm right. He told me himself, okay? He's working and has his ear buds in and it's Megan Thee Stallion blasting, he told me so I know.
AAAND DONE (for now)!! Also if I maybe perhaps made a playlist of songs I think Floyd with listen to, would you like me to send it over? It'll be full of bangers, trust. Also like with all my ramble asks no proof read so God speed reading this SJSGSJSHDHJDVF
I SQUEAALLLEDDDDD EEEHEHEHEE THESE ARE SO SO SO GOOD >__<!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to reread tjos over again so many times- not bc I didn't understand anything- but because of just how right you are I needed to try to absorb the info into my system... Love when people do long long rants like these I am such a listener and I love reading but responding always gets my ass... beats me down,... Me taking an entire 2 days to figure out how to word one (1) sentence. /hj I just think it's funny (update on this I've been typing for hours my hands are starting to cramp and I haven't even written that much)
I absolutely love it when people draw/write Azul to have square pupils, n'd other... octopus-like features yu kno... I didn't know octopi bit off their limbs?? (I'm guessing they also grow them back, I wish I could do that wtf???) Azul being so super strong also SPEAKS to me, I don't think u mentioned this but I also love it when people draw Azul to be plus sized (so real, exactly like god intended/silly) AND ALSO WITH SPLATOON STYLE OCTO-HAIR LMAOO I just remembered one of my friends draws Azul with that kind of hair and it made me laugh so hard /pos
FLOYD BEING INTO DRESSES/SKIRTS?? I'M GOING BONKERS INSANE I'M IN LOVE FOR REAL?? I NEED to draw them in more skirts now thank you so much for this... He's gunna look so cute for real... And also in game; For the guest room and friendship stuff Floyd likes cute and Unique things!! That's so adorable I'm screaming they're literally just a little (crazy) guy >__<//....... !!!!!!!!!! I can do so much with this information. slams fist on table. I'm in art block rn though and I'm so UPSET. LET ME DRAW. Also him having beef with bugs is so real and so me. I also hate mozzies AND YES THEM HAVING FUCKING PREFERENCES ??? HELLO?? LEAVE ME ALONE. crying emoji!
I love twins with opposite aesthetics, I always forget that Jade is (canonically?) into punk/alt fashion, whenever I go to draw him out of uniform I get stumped like. "was he the one who liked that fashion.. or someone else like am I trippin' did I imagine that..." But now I can draw F n' J in opposite clothing styles... Jade being punk/alt is so mecore like she's just like me for real. Also I really like mallejade as a ship/even just as friends but the goth/alt duo?? going out on dates and being so tall and scaring people so bad?? I already think Malleus loves wearing dresses that reach the ankles and tall dainty shoes... If NRC had a female uniform I think Malleus would own a set. Along with a lot of other characters but I don't feel compelled to list them all right now (the transfems are taking over the all-boys school!! oh no!!! /hj)
I often use she/they/he for the trio cuz I completely agree!! They are so gender non-conforming... they are so genderfuck... they are so all pronouns they are so pansexual?? they are so. weird little thangs. /aff The way they all use he/him on land just to accommodate HUMANS and their STUPID gender boxes is more of a Azul/Jade idea- Floyd being the one they have to convince to do the same. Even though Floyd doesn't care how people decide to perceive them, and they'd probably get he/him'd anyway, I like to think sometimes she causes problems by going "oh my god... you.. misgendered me?? how could you do this to me I'm. I'm so hurt. I actually use [insert very long list of pronouns INCLUDING neopronouns just to mess with people] :/// How could you not know that about me." Just a silly thing I think would happen hee hee...
Ruggie listening to female rappers is so real no I was also told my him in person he showed me his playlist... since we on the topic of music as well I think Malleus listens to like Radiohead, The Smiths, Horror Vacui, Male tears, sometimes Muse and Nirvana- He dips his toes into Death/Black metal/screamo sometimes due to Lilia's influence. He doesn't like it a LOT but he likes being close to people through things they like so he basically tricked himself into liking that genre of music... Adorable methinks I like to mention this a lot and I don't remember if I did last time but Floyd PTV + MCR liker + 6arleyhuman + Maneskin... And funky video game ost's !! if you let me keep talking I could probably assign most of the students a music taste because I know I'm right. Also Azul and Vil both love Lady Gaga. Vil likes Destiny's Child. Cater is a kpop stan and only listens to girl groups. Riddle likes Lawfey, Aurora and City And Colour. Idia likes songs that were popular in 2015-20 because of gacha videos on youtube, preppy anime songs and also video game ost's from his favourite games. ANYWYSSYDSHUY -- ANYWAYS YES YES I'D LOVE TO HEAR THE PLAYLIST??? PLEASE !!!! :DDDDD

shARING ROOMS BASED ON THE TEAMS??? damn wat, you're brutal
hes probably just trying to keep his mind as clear as possible, which wont happen if the couples sleep in the same rooms as each other lmao
"to be honest, im worried about thua" well what on earth does that mean
are you just referencing all the times you were worried about thua when he was hanging out with aye
ARE YOU SPECIFICALLY REFERENCING THE TIME THUA WAS AT YOUR HOUSE STUDYING, AND YOU SAID "youre always spending time with aye, im jealous" (or something along those lines) AND THEN COVERED IT UP SAYING YOURE JUST WORRIED ABOUT HIM??
ARE YOU SUBTLY TRYING TO SAY YOURE JEALOUS OF AYE COS YOU CANT SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM AS YOUR BOYFRIEND??
cos if so
i. i picked up on that. and that feels important for everyone to know. and now you know.
"aye. dont touch thua" lmao calm down bro
Tumblr media
(read this to the tune of the sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g song from when we were like 12) WAT AND NAMO, SHARING A ROOM. F-U-C---
"so what did you and aye argue about?" "...we didnt" bro dont lie
in all honesty, aye gives great advice. like, he always seems to know the right thing to say to help someone make a decision and stuff
oh no
communication issues
why must there be communication issues
pls guys just talk to each other
akk, all you gotta do is tell aye how youre feeling
thua, all you gotta do is tell kan what you would like and need
aye and kan, listen
its really simple, guys, its really not hard at all in the slightest
Tumblr media
jeez thats a standoff and a half (note: wat is leaning on namo's shoulder. just something for everyone to observe.)
Tumblr media
bro why do you have to be shirtless
Tumblr media
thank you namo for saying what we're all thinking
aight theyre all playing in the water now, and playing in the water tends to make akk and aye feel better and stuff
THEY ALL LOOK LIKE THEYRE HAVING SO MUCH FUN
NO IM GONNA CRY AGAIN
BUT ENTIRELY BC I LOVE THIS GROUP SO MUCH
THE HAPPINESS IS STRONG
noooooo namo dont have an existential crisis about graduating and growing up and saying goodbyes and potentially never seeing your friends again, you'll set me off into one of my own
"will you forget me?" "we will." lmao rip namo i guess
damn that phone is loud, how can they hear it over the river. its almost like... like it was edited in in post or something. hmmmmmmmmm

sponsorship timeeeee
THEY USE THE SAME PRODUCTS- SOBBING AGAIN
i know they probably bought them at the same time from the same store or something but thats not the point its still super cute
COMMUNICATION ISSUES WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME
JUST SAY WHAT YOURE THINKING
YOUVE BOTH LITERALLY SAID TO EACH OTHER 'youre allowed to be weak. at least around me.'
SO BE FREAKING WEAK, TELL HIM EVERYTHING ON YOUR MIND SO THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER BETTER AND MAKE UP AND BADABING BADABOOM HAPPINESS
Tumblr media
SONG??
SONG
SONGGGG
is song the way that they communicate
i knew this would happen. i literally know this would happen.
just cos theyre assigned different rooms to their partners, it doesnt mean theyre gonna actually abide by those rules. theyre just gonna switch. badabing badaboom everyone is gay
"can you stop asking already?" "why?" "if you dont stop talking, how can i kiss you?" brooooooo
Tumblr media
IT'S LIKE EPISODE 7, BUT BETTER, BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY SUCCEED THIS TIME
GOOD JOB, GAYS GUYS, YOU DID IT. IM PROUD OF YOU. COS MAN EPISODE 7 WAS FRUSTRATING
but its all good now
Tumblr media
THEY BOTH PLAY GUITAR
HOW WAS I NOT AWARE OF THIS
OHHH AKK IS LEARNING GUITAR
GRJHBGDK
okay theyre talking to each other, finally
its gonna end in another argument probably but at least akk is getting towards telling aye how hes making him feel rn and theyre communicating and working it out
aye, ily, and i know youre tryna make him feel better, but this isn't solving the problem
yeah hes cute when hes angry, but he doesnt like being angry with you because (as he has just tried to tell you) it makes him feel like youre aggravating him on purpose for no reason and makes him question your relationship.
akk, youre also at fault here because you didnt talk to him sooner about your thoughts and feelings
but right now in the current moment aye is being a little bit mean and a little bit silly (but not silly in the fun way)
theyre making out now tho. but they still havent made up.
its fine, theyll get to that tomorrow.
well, technically tonight. it's 2am.
speaking of that tho, IVE FINISHED THE EPISODE, FINALLY
talk about time blindness, it takes me three times the amount of time that the episode actually takes to watch it
final thoughts: i am excited for tomorrow (tonight??), this episode was very very very good, the eclipse makes me happy, happy is good, i need to go to sleep
goodnight folks! this will be even more incoherent next episode because ill be even more exhausted than i am now! byebyeeeeee

Once Bitten, Twice Shy
- Ian Hunter
Just in Case You Never Heard the Original! ; )
youtube
I love the way they danced in the 70's. I've seen old T.V. shows from that time period and I get such a kick out of watching them get down. I mean, they really got into it!
I freaking love this song. It tells such an interesting story, you know? I think it was great that Great White covered it in the 80's. I'll post the remake next. They only changed it slightly. I don't think the writer, Ian Hunter - who you see here, singing the tune - was crazy about the remake because he felt it was missing the swing. To him the remake sounded flat. I mean, i get that, lol. They made a modern rock song. He had this hip, 70's, funky, bluesy number. But I love them both. This guy wrote a great song. Ian Hunter is such a cool cat.
(I can't help but think about all those bands on the road and all those groupies and highway honeys they picked up along the way. To all you groupies out there ... born in the wrong decade.)

y'know, the only songs I heard from Lil Mariko was Don't Touch and Where's My Juul?? bc of friends showing or playing it at some point, but it was just like 'haha this is wack and pretty fun I can appreciate that' and that would be it bc they are kind of overwhelming(?) to listen to
putting that question mark in quotations because I literally can't tell anymore. I'm unironically enjoying several of her tunes now LMAO It's like purely because it's very KJcore and I'm certain y'all know how much I enjoy that freak <3 I love peculiar funky tunes they're very fun

Reasons to Love First Kanaphan: A Prodigy in Thai BL Industry [ Part 4 ]
First Kanaphan Puitrakul is gradually becoming one of the best thailand actors right now, who is still emerging to fame, with his exceptional acting skills, charismatic presence, and heart-winning smile.
Tumblr media
As an absolute fan of his works, today my mission is to encourage everyone to discover him, to feel the strongest emotions through his acting, and witness another fascinating actor rise up in the industry through his hard works, relentless dedication, and talent.
I've already talked about the third reason in my previous post, so this time - let's talk about the next reason for loving our beloved big baby boy; First!
Check Out The Previous Reason
Stay tuned for I'll be posting each reason once in a while. Otherwise it would be a pretty lengthy blog, and I honestly I cannot just squeeze everything about him in one place. So, here we go!
Tumblr media
Reason 4:
First is Adorable ASF
Okay, you can't just keep watching First Kanaphan all day, and his acting without falling for his constant cuteness and sweetness, because he is the most adorable person I've ever seen in my whole life. I've never seen someone being this illegally adorable and lovable all time. He's a big baby - I repeat HE'S A BIG BABY. I've seen all GMMTV actors treating him so lovingly, always caressing his cheeks or head, he is just so lovable and sweet to everyone. It is just impossible not to adore him, while watching his fluffy cute antics. It will simply make your heart melt. This man has every power to make anyone's heart soft for him, just by the way he acts onscreen and offscreen.
Like, have you seen his puppy doe eyes and his magnetic wide smile? They'll be the death of you if you stare at him for too long. These days, I'm struggling to watch his next series, because I'm now too scared I'll SERIOUSLY fall for him, and that's just so aching for me. This young man is a treasure trove to this century, and I mean it.
Tumblr media
I haven't watched, "Wake up Ladies", but when I saw a few clips of his acting in that show, I freaking screamed. He looks so funky, quirky and hilarious. He's such a comfort character in there. If you're having a bad day, watch a few sweet videos of First, they'll uplift your mood, and make you smile so wide, as if you've lived vicariously through his happiness. It's priceless.
Whenever I watched episodes of "The Shipper", I barely stayed silent for too long, because every now and then, I kept squeaking under my breath, saying, "How can he be this cute!??" OR "Omg, He is sweet asf, omg he's so damn cute, MY HEART". Yes, I just kept doing these all the time, and everytime I watched a fantastic acting scene of him, where he simultaneously acted adorable as well? I kept repeating that exact scene for over 10 times, and I don't regret it, because if you love cuteness, you will definitely love him. I just don't know what to say anymore, his cuteness makes me so happy, it makes me breathe. As a certified BL lover, all I want is to see him act cute all day, with his exceptionally endearing smile - which will soon bring us to the next point in my next post.
Tumblr media
That's it for today!
See you next time with the next reason!

Laetitia Sadier & Radio Outernational Live Show Review: 3/12, Empty Bottle, Chicago
Tumblr media
Laetitia Sadier
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Laetitia Sadier's set Tuesday night at Empty Bottle was a mix of idealism, determination, and empathy. Such a combination exemplifies the connotation of the very title of her first solo album in 7 years, Rooting For Love (Drag City). Like her work with Stereolab, Rooting For Love employs a wide array of instrumentation--guitar, bass, synth, organ, trombone, vibraphone, live and programmed drums, zither, vocals--to present songs that are simple-sounding in execution, but deceptively complex. For every foray into lounge funk, there's an off-kilter psychedelic freak-out; in combination with Sadier's spirituality and collectivism, it makes for an album that you can deeply explore as much as you can vibe to.
Tuesday, Sadier, on stage alone, pointed to her synthesizer and joked, "This is the band...It's the same every night." In a way, playing to recordings and samples seems to occupy its own, different level of difficulty, as you can't as easily improvise your way out of messing up. Thankfully, Sadier not only nailed it, but employed a looper and processed her scraggly guitar playing to build up and tear down her compositions, adding unexpected chaos for those in the crowd who had voraciously consumed the new record. "Protéïformunité" featured washy noise and a drum beat, Sadier immersing herself in the music to the point of dancing, as she sang mantras like "L’objectif est de limoger l’ignorance, d’interrompre le cycle sans fin de la souffrance,” or, "The goal is to remove ignorance, to interrupt the endless cycle of suffering." Again, as with Stereolab, Sadier showed that visionary ideas can sound, simply, pleasant.
Of course, while you wouldn't describe Sadier as a realist, she's also certainly unafraid to confront, and Tuesday, she performed the two most provocative tracks from Rooting For Love. "Don't Forget You're Mine", co-written with Veronique Vincent (of Belgian avant-rock band Aksak Maboul), tells the story of an academic couple whose more-successful husband is threatened by his wife's sudden success to the point where he torments her with psychological and physical abuse. It was here where Sadier warped her beatific guitar playing into something more fuzzy, as if to emphasize the skin-crawling nature of what she was singing about, contrasting the lovely timbre of her voice. On the studio version, she repeats, from the point of view of the abuser, "Get up, babe!" over siren-like instrumentation, like a plea to society to eliminate internal and external toxicity. "Cloud 6", meanwhile, started with chopping and screwing her operatic vocals, her trombone pulsating on the off-beat of the arpeggiated synth line, before turning more clear. Sadier waxed about how the process of fear encapsulates a wholesale turning away from humanity; "How can you be seen and known and loved when you have your armor on," she asked? The song ended with her most frank declaration: "This armor is keeping you from the gifts I've given you / I'm not fucking around / You're halfway dead." In the context of not only Sadier's songs that decry capitalism and war, but the world today in general, "Cloud 6" was a call to wake up.

Radio Outernational's Aaron Shapiro, Kenthaney Redmond, Hunter Diamond, & Wayne Montana
Opening for Sadier was local quintet Radio Outernational, who features three current members of funk-punk heroes The Eternals. While Radio Outernational haven't released any recorded music, they've been playing around town since last year, clear in their chemistry. Flutist and saxophonist Hunter Diamond and flutist Kenthaney Redmond effectively harmonized, one often trailing the other, especially on the songs that employed dual flute. Guitarist Aaron Shapiro offered funky licks rife with swirling wah wahs and prickly stabs. The rhythm section, bassist Wayne Montana and drummer Areif Sless-Kitain, propelled the slinky tunes, providing a bed for the other three players to flourish. Radio Outernational was a wholly appropriate opener for Sadier, as it was almost like they were the physical manifestation of the type of cosmic cooperation she sings and dreams about.

YES, YES, Y'ALL: THE 25 DOPEST EARLY RAP SONGS
By Stereo Williams
Published Thu, August 11, 2022 at 12:00 AM EDT
August 11, 1973 is widely celebrated as Hip-Hop's birthday. It's the day that Clive "DJ Kool Herc" Campbell and his sister Cindy Campbell, threw a "Back To School" jam at the address of 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx. It was at this party that Herc debuted a new technique of extended the break of popular records by mixing two records of the same song together. It was an innocent spark that spread like revolutionary wildfire.
Hip-Hop's true first wave wasn't made up of recording artists. These were creatives coming together in a community across the South Bronx and eventually other parts of New York City. But by the end of the 1970s, DJs and graffiti artists and breakers had provided a foundation on which emcees could launch viable careers, and rap records became a reality. Labels like Sugar Hill and Enjoy Records scooped up acts from across Uptown and the Bronx, as groups like Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, The Treacherous Three, and the Funky Four Plus One suddenly made the leap from the parks to the recording booths.
By the mid-1980s, artists like Run-D.M.C. and Whodini, along with the emergence of the Def Jam label, spelled the beginning of the end for rap's first wave. But there is some tremendous music that came out of Hip-Hop's first generation, songs that became calling cards for the genre for decades to come. We picked 25 of the songs that helped shape, define, and ultimately bookend, Hip-Hop's "True School" wave up through 1984 (and some 1985.)
#26
"SAVE YOUR LOVE FOR #1" - RENE & ANGELA FEAT. KURTIS BLOW [BONUS SONG]
Our BONUS SONG pick is a celebrated classic guest spot! Kurtis Blow stepped into the producer's booth for this banger with one of the hottest R&B acts of the 80s.
#25
"AT THE DIXIE" - COLD CRUSH BROTHERS (AND THE FANTASTIC FREAKS)
The energy of the Cold Crush's live performance was perfectly captured in this iconic closing track from the movie WILD STYLE. Everyone shines here, but Caz steals the show with a verse that's part tragedy, part comedy, and all lyricism.
#24
"APACHE" - THE SUGARHILL GANG
The classic tune got a Hip-Hop makeover, courtesy of Master Gee, Wonder Mike and Big Bank Hank. And it became permanently embedded in pop culture via an episode of THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR.
#23
"FEEL IT (THE MEXICAN)" - FUNKY FOUR PLUS ONE
MC Sha Rock suggested the group revisit "The Mexican," a popular breakbeat for b-boys and b-girls in the 1970s. The result was one of the Funky Four Plus One's most infectious singles.

#22
"NEW YORK, NEW YORK" - GRANDMASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE
Another hit from Melle Mel and Duke Bootee following the success of "The Message," it features more gritty storytelling about the Big Apple, this time going full on into darkness, as they rap about the big city.
#21
"RAPPIN' AND ROCKIN' THE HOUSE" - FUNKY FOUR PLUS ONE
MC Sha Rock, Jazzy Jeff, D.J. Breakout, Guy Williams, Keith Keith, K.K. and Rodney Stone. A dancefloor staple and the first single from the legendary crew from The Bronx, MC Sha Rock shines in particular on this classic and a great showcase for the house band.
#20
"HEY D.J." - WORLD FAMOUS SUPREME TEAM
Nobody hates this song. It's one of the most beloved songs of all time. One of the 1980s most joyously effervescent singles, it still sounds as fun and upbeat as it did decades ago.
#19
"SUPERRAPPIN'" - GRANDMASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE
The first single from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five was also one of the first rap singles ever released. The classic 12-minute version introduces the entire crew, and the groove is a perfect showcase for the Sugar Hill Records sound.
#18
"PROBLEMS (OF THE WORLD)" - FEARLESS FOUR
On this single produced by none other than Kurtis Blow, the Four break down everything from mental wellness to the drug game. Here, depression and hustling are linked, long before most rappers had made the connections.
#17
"THE NEW RAP LANGUAGE" - TREACHEROUS THREE W/SPOONIE GEE
Kool Moe Dee, L.A. Sunshine, Special K and former member/guest star Spoonie Gee were breaking ground from Day One. One of the earliest examples of triplet rhyme, and a revelation; and a leap forward for lyricism.
#16
"ON THE RADIO" - CRASH CREW
Harmonizing on rap records before it was cool, the Crash Crew had one of the most unique sounds in Hip-Hop's early days. Known for tight rhymes and routines as well as some of the best harmonizing committed to record, The Crew etched their own lane long before rap became a multi billon dollar industry.
#15
"MONEY (DOLLAR BILL, Y'ALL)" - JIMMY SPICER
Spicer had some of Hip-Hop's smoothest early tracks, with rhymes that could be effortlessly cool and hilarious. One of his best was this uber-classic; a single that would later be famously revisited by Wu-Tang Clan on "C.R.E.A.M."
#14
"FUNK BOX PARTY, PT. 1" - MASTERDON COMMITTEE
MasterDon, Pebbly Poo, Gangster G, Keith KC, Boo Ski and Johnny D crafted one of the most infectious party rap records. And its where Master P got that classic "Make 'Em Say Uhh" hook from.
#13
"JAM ON IT" - NEWCLEUS
It's impossible to hear this electro smash and not start pop locking--almost spontaneously. It's one of the best singles of the 1980s and a hit that cemented the electro sound as a force in Hip-Hop.
#12
"ROCKIN' IT" - FEARLESS FOUR
That Kraftwerk sample is one of the best ever, and this gem from the Fearless Four would become a benchmark for so many later hits like MC Lyte's "Cha Cha Cha" and Jay-Z's "Sunshine."
#11
"FUNK YOU UP" - THE SEQUENCE
Hip-Hop's first female rap group came from South Carolina, and the Sequence dropped an early rap classic with this funky slice of perfection. Revisited by everyone from Dr. Dre to Bruno Mars.
#10
"WHITE LINES (DON'T DO IT)" - GRANDMASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE
The song is ostensibly a warning against the dangers of cocaine, but it winds up sounding almost like a coke commercial! So the group added the "Don't do it!" addendum to make sure the message remains clear.
#9
"HOW WE GONNA MAKE THE BLACK NATION RISE?" - BROTHER D WITH THE COLLECTIVE EFFORT
When they discuss the earliest forms of political Hip-Hop, this danceable anthem from 1980 has to be more recognized. One of the first topical rap songs that explicitly references Black Power, still an important record.
#8
"FEEL THE HEARTBEAT" - TREACHEROUS THREE
It's one of the greatest rap records ever made. The Treacherous Three have no shortage of classic singles, but "...Heartbeat" is one of the most celebrated, sampled and revered songs in their catalog.
#7
"RENEGADES OF FUNK" - SOULSONIC FORCE
The Soulsonic Force didn't look to repeat the innovation of "Planet Rock." Instead, the pioneering crew of electro-rock producers pushed even further into the future with this kinetic piece of art.
#6
"THAT'S THE JOINT" - FUNKY FOUR PLUS ONE
That groove is recreated by the Sugar Hill house band, as the crew of emcees out of the Bronx kick rhymes and keep the party going with one of Hip-Hop's most indelible early singles.
#5
"THE BODY ROCK" - TREACHEROUS THREE
A high water mark for the record makers at Sugar Hill. That groove is so slick and the beat is one of Hip-Hop's all-time best; sampled by everyone from Mariah Carey to Fat Joe.
#4
"RAPPER'S DELIGHT" - THE SUGAR HILL GANG
The song that got rap music on the radio and got Hip-Hop into mainstream American culture. Master Gee, Wonder Mike and the late Big Bank Hank launched themselves into the echelons of history with this Grandmaster Caz-penned hit that started it all.
#3
"PLANET ROCK" - AFRIKA BAMBAATAA & SOULSONIC FORCE
Electro was arguably rap music's first true subgenre, and the Soulsonic Force was the first act to take it to the major charts. A breakbeat staple that still sounds like the future.
#2
"THE BREAKS" - KURTIS BLOW
The Orange Krush provided the slinky groove, and Kurtis Blow's bombastic rap sits front-and-center on this classic from 1980. Kurtis Blow became Hip-Hop's first major crossover superstar after becoming the first rapper to land a major deal. He dropped this monster single, and kickstarted a career that would make him one of the genre's most beloved icons.
#1
"THE MESSAGE" - GRANDMASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE
If Hip-Hop has a "Johnny B. Goode," then surely it must be this standout single from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. Written by Melle Mel and Sugar Hill producer Duke Bootee, the 1982 classic has become a rap standard, with a refrain ("It's like a jungle sometimes...") that summed up Hip-Hop's inherent truths without trying too hard. And a beat that's been revisited by everyone from Ice Cube to Puff Daddy.
