“You guys kissed?!?” Diana yells out loud “shhh diana” you cover her mouth as you look around already seeing others look back.

“m’sorry” she swats your hand away from her face. “I still can’t believe it you’ve never kissed anyone, but you get your first kiss with a frat!” she quietly exclaims.

You sigh, opening your locker “I don’t know diana this whole situation is kinda weird, i mean you think things will be awkward?”.

Diana leans against the locker next to you “ i meann hes for sure nothing like chris, so you know he will talk to you” she looks around“ but i mean hey it looks like sturniolo woke on the wrong side of the bed.” She chuckles as you turn around.

Seeing Matt, your stomach tightened, he’s clearly not in a good mood. He’s being more quiet than usally and when his friends poked or teased him he would push them away.

As you keep starting at him, Matt can feel someone gaze on him as he looks up from his phone, he locks his eyes on yours. He freezes something about today you look so different maybe it’s the fact that you’re wearing a pikachu shirt from his favorite video game.

(Matt never told anyone especially now that he’s in high school but he never grew out of pokemon it was always a safe place to distract himself)

Matt is still there looking at you as you look at him until an annoying voice distracts him “Matty!! what are you looking at?” angela (chris’s little on and off hook up) looks at the direction he’s staring at.

“Ew seriously that nerd, jeez matt your that desperate?” matt huffs rolling his eyes. Even with a crowded hallways you can hear aggravating voice from a few feet away.

Diana of course overhead the conversation quickly grabbing lana’s hand. “cmon the bell is almost gonna ring we wouldn’t wanna be late.”

You slam your locker keeping up diana’s pace.

Matt watches as this happens remembering yesterday’s previous conversation

(it means you will get teased by your friends by being forced to talk to me)

feeling so bad she was right, completely.

The bell rings and you quickly pack up, your music blasting into your ears as you walk, as you made your way to the lunch room you look around before spotting your friend.

Diana had a bunch of friends she was a social butterfly nothing like you but she always chose to sit with you at lunch or any type of situation.

“hii” you wave at her taking out your earbuds. “girl! when i tell you mr sikowitz literally CHANGED our script after i finishing learning my lines” you burst out in giggles.

Diana always knew how to make you laugh even if she wasn’t trying. You guys spend the next fifteen minutes talking about anything.

As you were speaking to diana, diana eyes shift from you to someone behind you.

“ I was lik-” you stop to turn around to see what’s she’s looking at, for a minute you thought it was matt but realized it was brother by the change of clothes. “sup diana and uhm lana, wondering if you ladies wanted to come to a party?”

You look at diana she’s already smiling and nodding at you, you sigh “i don’t think i’ll be able to go i have to babysit” you scratch your neck awkwardly.

“Aww cmon lana it’ll be fun!” diana exclaimed “listen to your friend it’ll be fun” he winks in diana’s direction to which she just rolls her eyes.

“unless you guys find a babysitter for me i don’t think i can go and have ‘fun’ ”. You motion quotation marks in the air.

“we will babysit!” diana pointing back and forth between her and chris “who the fuck is ‘we’ i aint no takin’ care no baby” shaking his head.

“christopher if you babysit ill let you see my answers for the next pop quiz” chris thinks about it he currently has a d in that class if he keeps it up like that he will be benched for lacrosse.

“fuckk.. fine i’ll do it but don’t expect me to do much” Diana is quite literally grinning ear to ear. You try to hold back a smile “just um- send me the location?” you say just above whisper.

“‘no worries i’ll have matt pick ‘ya up” he smirks before he pulls something from his front pocket.

“oh- and i’m pretty sure this belongs to you” he gives you a dior lip gloss that you have left in matt’s car. You feel your cheeks heat up knowing that matt probably told him the full situation.

chris dismisses himself quickly sitting back down to his seat next to matt putting his arm around him, whispering “you owe me so many rides.”

The time comes as you walk into your history class after lunch, early like always. Pulling out your textbooks organizing them, having your wired headphones in you don’t notice the body sitting right next to you.

A tap on the shoulder makes you slightly jump, it was matt you didn’t think he was gonna talk to your since what happened yesterday. Taking out your headphones “hi” he whispers “hi” you whisper back before quickly looking away.

Matt scoots closer to you “i’m pretty sure chris told you how there’s gonna be a party and-“

“Matt I know already you don’t have keep talking to me.” He slightly frowns he knows he doesn’t have to but he wants to.

“I know it’s just… your fun to talk to” you slightly smile “i’m sure i’m the life of the party.”

He chuckles at your sarcasm, he finds something about you so easy to be with.

He leans in closer, your knees touching each other “i mean if you’re wearing a pokémon shirt it infact makes you a pretty fun, cool person to talk to.”

He smirks his head is slightly tilted to the side.

Just as you were about to say something the bell rings and class starts.

You and Matt took a lot of time working in class not much words were said mostly him trying to spark up a conversation and you giving him a dry answer.

As you pack up you hear matt’s voice once again “um lana are you gonna need a ride today?” you shake your head “Diana is taking me home. “Rightt diana, but i will be able to take you to that party?.”

“i am trusting chris with my baby sister i think that is more than enough of an answer.” Matt puts his hands up like he was surrounded “ alright alright understood.”

The bell rings, you swing your backpack behind you “i’ll see you soon matt.”

And with that you walk away, heading towards your next class.

You wait for diana by her car, you look around as you wait before you see her with her chris talking, you overthink it too much probably discussing the babysitting situation.

They soon enough they separate ways, diana smiles already seeing you waiting.

“cmonn hurry i need to get home my moms waiting on me to watch isabel.” you whine as your friend takes her time unlocking the car.

“Girl relax it’ll be fine” she giggles finding your frustration funny.

Finally arriving at your house Diana parks her car in your driveway, unlocking your door you get hit with the smell of spaghetti.

“Hi mom i’m home” you walk into the kitchen, diana following you. “i brought diana to help me babysit” diana waves at your mom.

“M’kay baby just keep an eye out on your sister don’t be getting too distracted with each other.”

“we won’t i promise” you smile at your mom “alright then i need to be heading out i’ll see you soon”

And with that you girls have the house to yourselves.

After feeding your baby sister diana puts on a show for her to watch in the living room as you go get in the shower washing off.

you spend the next few hours getting ready trying to look your best.

After, you go into your closet looking for something not too formal but not to skippy.

You find outfit, before you put it on you quickly check up on diana and your sister, them being too quiet worries you.

As you walk into the living room you see them both really involved in the show they are watching you chuckle to yourself before going back into your room, and changing.

You change into a skirt and top, looking into the mirror feeling pretty for once. You hear your doorbell ring probably meaning chris is here and with matt.

You walk out your room fidgeting with you bracelets, in the living room you see diana, chris carrying diana around his shoulders; she’s giggling and playing with his hair.

Then there was matt, he was like in a trance he’s eyeing you up and down he’s never thought he’d be so down bad here he was dreaming about all the things he could be doing with you.

“Matt? are you ready to go?” you ask him tilting your head. “Mhm yeah” he feels his buldge growing so he starts to walk out. “thank you guys, i owe you a big time” you shyly smile. “ oh girl trust me i know i have to deal with two big baby’s.”

Chris is just about to cuss at her until you hear the car honking, “i think that’s my cue to go have funn!!”

You get in matt’s car, his gaze avoiding your “You um- ready?” you nod “mhmm”, “you can play music if you want” you look at your phone before back at him.

“I think the quiet is nice it’ll ease my nerves before the party” matt turns for a minute looking at you before he looks back to the road.

You guys arrive to the party seeing so many people hearing the booming music, you pull down your dress, fidgeting with your bracelets “Hey it’s gonna be fine just stick to m’side.”

“mkay..” you look up at him.

Matt is starting at your beautiful face, he wants to kiss you he needs to know all the beautiful noises you can make for him, your soft lips against his.

but he stops himself, “C’mon follow me”, he locks the car doors and you follow right behind his steps, being aware of your surroundings.

Once you guys are inside so many are questioning him, ‘where’s chris?’ or ‘that ya’ new chick?’.

It was overwhelming to say the least but you came to have a good time to relax or atleast try.

You separate from matt, going to get something to drink, hoping it’ll ease your nerves.

Grabbing a coke you make your way back to matt, your heart drops, you see a girl all over him, you know you shouldn’t feel this way. But you do and can’t help it.

Matt looks up from the drunk girl who’s trying to to convince him to go upstairs with her, he sees you, your expression completely different from the last time he saw you.

You give him a slight smile before turning away and walking off into the crowd.

He quickly pushed off the drunken girl and started running after you.

“Lana! -Lana wait..” he finally reaches you, grabbing your arm.

“Matt no- it’s fine you came here to have a good time, i didn’t mean to interrupt.” you look everywhere but at him.

“please look at me… I can explain myself.” you lock eyes with him biting your lip down.

“Matt there isn’t anything to explain, you invited me to a party, that’s it nothing more nothing less.” Matt slowly breaths in before speaking up.

“Lana…” matt pleads he needs to explain himself but how, what should he say? he thinks he has developed feelings for you and you make him feel so many emotions at once.

“Matt?”

He doesn’t think, he doesn’t want to seeing you infront of him, heartbroken, sad but so beautiful at the same time, how can he think in a situation like this.

He leans in closing the gap between you, his arm instantly wrapping around you.

You stay frozen, you didn’t expect him to kiss you, let alone infront of so many people.

But right now it feels like everyone disappeared, only being the two of you. Your arms wrap around his neck as the kiss gets more passionate.

Matt pulls away first, breathless “Lana please you got me down on my knees, you got me feeling some type of way.”

Your breath hitches no guy let alone , someone like matt has ever confessed to you.

“Matt…” your hand caressing his hair.

You needed him more now than ever but this isn’t how you imagined your first time, you wanted it perfect and this wasn’t it.

“it’s getting late i don’t want to leave diana babysitting with chris for too long.”

Matt feels like disappearing, this is his second time being rejected, but he knew you were hesitant about doing anything intimate, but he didn’t know how much of a challenge it would be.

“We’ll go, we can go right now” he starts to pull your hand through the crowd, he ignores all the randoms calling him over, his mind only on you.

The car ride was quite to say the least, other than the soft music playing from his phone.

He would sneak glances at you, as you looked out the window.

You were thinking and thinking hard.

I mean you barely knew him, but the way everything feels so easy with him seems almost too good to be true. These last two days felt so crazy, i mean this could also just be a joke he does hang around with many mean popular people.

Your thoughts come to an end as he parks outside your driveway, “i’ll walk you inside” matt says as he unbuckles his seatbelt.

He quickly jogs over to the passenger door opening it for you, you thank him as you both walk to the front door unlocking it.

As you both walk in you see chris and Diana cuddled next to each other on the couch.

Matt chuckles at the scene “Chris dude wake up” he softly slaps chris’s head softly.

Chris nuzzles his head deeper into Diana’s neck as he swats Matt’s hand away.

You softly laugh, making matt’s stomach do backflips.

“I got this,” you tell matt before you walk into the kitchen. You walk back with a pan and spatula, you slowly get close to the both of before hitting the pan twice.

They practically jump away from each other startled by the sudden noise. “Seems like the two of you had a fun time” you smirk.

“What? no please, we were just too tired okay” diana is quick to deny. meanwhile chris it to tired to comprehend the situation.

“Cmon kid lets go” Matt pats chris’s shoulder, chris stands up and stretches before he makes his way out the door to tired to say bye.

Matt follows up behind him, he stops in his foot steps when he hears your voice call out for him.

“Matt, wait-” you quickly walk towards him “thank you for um- tonight i enjoyed being with you.” you smile up at him.”

He smiles back before speaking up “of course lana anytime.” and with that he makes his way out.

“I see you had fun!” Diana yawns as she gets up from the couch. “Oh just wait until i tell you what happened.”

“Can not wait to hear it, but i have to drive back home and im so tired, i’ll gladly hear about it tomorrow though!” she smiles before wrapping her arm around your shoulder.

“you know you can stay my mom wont mind,” you smile at her.

“I know but i don’t feel like getting my blanket stolen in the middle of the night.” You laugh as she starts to put on her ugg’s.

“i’ll see you tomorrow babes” as she walks out your left there alone with your thought before hearing your sisters cry, quickly turning towards her room.

As you settle into your seat a few minutes before class starts, (you’ve always liked coming to class early to organize your desk area) you take out your wired headphones to listen to music while taking notes. You’ve always liked them more than airpods because they’re not as easy to lose.

The bell rings and class starts, you start writing down what the teacher writes. You look for your pink highlighter before you realize it’s somewhere in your backpack, so quickly retrieve it.

As you do so a few knocks are heard from the door, mr. Harris walks over to see who it could possibly be. “Mr. sturniolo! it’s great to have you.” Your teacher says sarcastically “sorry mr i was us-“ “using the restroom” they say in unison. The class laughs at this interaction.

As Matt starts to walk to his desk mr. harris stops him “Sturniolo i would like to have you switch with someone” he thinks for a moment. “ah could you switch with Diana.”

Your head turns to see Diana’s expression, shes been your desk buddy since the semester started and she’s also your closest and only friend. “But Mr. Harris I haven’t even done anythingg” she whines.

“Thats another reason on why you will switch with matt, you need to focus better up here and he can get help from lana, isn’t that right lana?”

“oh -uhm yeah mhm” you answer him “Great it’s settled please hurry and switch he have a lot to cover today and a project to discuss.

As they switch seats matt settles in the back to where Diana was previously sitting. He takes out his textbook before he looks for a pencil or something he can use to write with.

After he can’t find something he looks next to him seeing you have two mechanical pencils on your desk. “ ‘ya think i could borrow a pencil” he whispers “ uhh yeah sure” as you pass him a pencil. His fingers graze your hand for a moment before you turn back and start writing your notes.

He stares at you before turning to write down his notes.

The class instinctively groan all together, “settle down settle down! class don’t get to excited” mr. harris chuckles at his own joke, you also let a slight laughs out too before covering it up with a cough. Matt looks over at you slightly smiles. “i’ll give you guys a week to do some research and making it into google slides, please use the time to look over your notes and making it look nice i don’t wanna see last minute work.”

The class is about to get up to pick their partners before mr. harris blows his whistle. “I would like if you guys would work with your desk buddies it would be easier for me.”

Some people would try to argue but reluctantly agree. Matt on the other hand doesn’t have much care, he thought you would do all the work since you seem smart enough to figure it out.

“so umm- do you wanna start researching some pictures we could use in the project while i do some research about the Neolithic Revolution since we have like 10 minutes left in class?”. Matt looks up from his phone his eyebrows furrowed.

“Oh shit uh yeah i guess i thought we would do this a day before were supposed turn it in.” he scratches his neck awkwardly not wanting to you the full truth. “I would prefer to start now so we wouldn’t stress about it later on” you tell him.

They spend the last few minutes of class doing research and organizing how many slides they will be doing and it what order.

The bell rings and matt is already on his feet before he hears his name, almost missing it. “Matt! -you still have my um pencil.” he quickly takes it out from his side pocket of his backpack.

“also i wanted to know if you wanted to work on this in the library or at each others houses i- i don’t mind.” you awkwardly look down at your feet.

“We can work on it at the library I just might take a while since i have to pick up some stuff from my locker.”

You give him a quick nod indicating you understand to which he smiles and walks away.

You’re in the library for a good 20 minutes looking through your notes and writing them down in your google slide, sometimes checking the time wondering where matt could be.

Matt is speed walking to the library hoping you didn’t leave, he wanted to stay true to his word and make it to the library. He finally arrives he’s looking around the library walking towards the back, hoping you stayed.

He sighs in relief when he sees you, he stands there for a minute he’s in awe you have this natural glow that can pull anyone in. He is quick to dismiss it before he walks at the table your at.

“Hey, m’sorry im late i got caught up.” You smile up at him “no you’re good it gave me some time to organize some of our work” you turn your computer towards him so he can see what you’ve been working on.

“wow that’s a lot for like what 30 minutes?” “20 actually” you’re quick to correct him “sounds like someone’s been keeping up with the time” he chuckles at you “me? neverrr” you tell him sarcastically.

You guys spend an hour working your project, his gaze sometimes lock in on you as you spoke even when you got of topic and started to apologize numerous of times which made him smile and chuckle at you.

You guys finally wrap up the bit of work you both have done. You both walk in sync to the parking lot, once outside you start walking towards the exit of the parking lot plugging your headphones into one ear.

“Wait you don’t have a ride?” you turn to him “no my car broke down so i have to walk!” you exclaim ��let me drive you home, my treat for making you wait.”

You hesitate before reluctantly agreeing you follow him to his car, you open the door to the passenger side sitting down as he starts up the car, “sorry for the mess” he chuckles “no no your good” you smile at him before looking out the window.

There’s this silence as he starts to drive you to your house after you told him where you live. Rain starts to pour harder and harder by the minute feeling up the silence in the car.

“The rain is really starting to pour luckily you had me.” he smile looking at you for a moment before looking back at the road. “yeahh” you slightly giggle. “Shit i think i might need to pull over i can barely see the road.” you look at him worried is written all over his face.”

You guys pull over to an empty parking lot. You both sit in silence as the rain starts to pour harder.

“Soo… you have any siblings?” matt questioned as he looks at you “ Matt you don’t have to make conversation with me it’s okay if you don’t wanna talk to me out of school don’t force yourself.”

Matt frowns at you i mean he knows you guys are completely different from each other (popularity likewise) but he wasn’t that mean unlike his brother chris.

“No lana im being serious i wanna get to know you i mean we are working on a project together so might as well use the time to get to know each other” he leans in closer his elbow on the center console. You bite your lip before picking at the skin of your nails.

You’re really not used to talking to anyone other than Diana so this whole situation feels a little weird. “I guess i just don’t want you to be seen talking to someone like me.” Matt’s eyebrows furrow “ to be seen talking to someone like you? what is that supposed to mean?” “ you know what it means Matt.”

“No i really don’t” you sigh “it means you will get teased by your friends by being forced to talk to me.” Matt scoffs “Oh cmon Lana you think they could do something please they are all bark no bite.”

You quietly laugh feeling a comfort in his words. “And plus if anything i think they would get jealous that i’m talking to a pretty girl like you.” you blush at his kinds words “you don’t mean that your just bein’ nice.”

He leans in closer his face inches away from you “I can prove it if you want doll” your breath hitches you’ve never kissed anyone and never expect it to be Matt.

Matt doesnt know what overtook him, he’s usally never the one indicating the kiss but with you he feels something different something more calmer.

He finally closes the gap smashing his lips against yours. He tastes your cherry lip balm your soft lips trying to work rhythmically with his. His had moves you jaw holding you steady in place.

He pulls away slightly “You’re really fucking pretty you know that?” before he starts to suck your neck softly. You whine at the pleasure of his lips on your skin “Matt…” “ yes- “ kiss “doll?” kiss. The kisses, his calm voice making you feel all kinds of things, “we- hmm.. -we can’t” you pull away from him.

His fucked out expression looking so desperate for you or maybe to just be touched “I don’t wanna be part of your roster of being another girls pants you’ve gotten into, we both know we won’t be anything more than what we are now.”

You hesitate before you tell him your biggest secret “i’m also a -um virgin.. so i’ve never really never done any of this and i don’t don’t think i’m ready.” you tell him looking down at your nails avoiding his gaze.

“But i- Lana-” you interrupt him“The rain seemed to calmed down just please drive me home Matt.” you just wanna get out of this awkward situation.

He complies as he starts the car and drives to your place. Once he arrives at your drive way you tell him ‘bye’ before exiting his car. He watches you as you walk away thinking about what happened earlier.

He can’t get the feeling of your soft lips on his the noises you made because of him out of his mind, he pops his train of thought before pulling out the driveway and back to his place.

Meanwhile you let out a shaky breath you didnt know you were holding in. You greet your mom who was in the kitchen before heading upstairs pondering your time with matt wondering how tomorrow could go.
