horrid magnificent beast the likes of which i have never seen just creached across my floor
#guys that make you jump up and scream ‘WHAT DA HELL IS EVEN THAT’#regrettably i killed it because it was huge and also i thought it was a roach at first but#looking at the remains it was definitely an arachnid. the abdomen was huge and it popped completely when i chancla’d it#all i have left for ID is the squashed cephalothorax and it’s not much to work with#i thought for a minute it was a whip scorpion but it doesn’t look like any whip scorpions i’ve seen around here#and it’s for sure not a regular scorpion#frantically googling ‘large red-brown california desert arachnid’ and variations thereof#if i can identify it i will post it for the bug mutuals
