IT WAS HIGH SCHOOL WHEN YOU RUINED TAESAN'S LIFE FOREVER.

To be more specific, it was during your last year of high school when he realized that there was simply no way he was ever going to win you over. Not now, and certainly not ever.

Because here’s the thing: Taesan was not a bad-looking guy, he’s far from it, actually. In fact, he had enough business cards from agency recruiters that could fit a whole shoe box, so his looks clearly were never the problem here. Was it his personality, then? Probably not that, either. He was pretty chill most of the time, and he had never really acted up around anyone unless it truly called for it. He always made sure that he wasn’t making a fool out of himself around you, and there were never really incidents that could have painted him in a bad light in your eyes. He had decent grades, so he wasn’t stupid either, which was one of your major turn-offs. And he was sporty—he participated in the school’s soccer team, and he even had a bunch of fans giggling over him whenever he so much as passed them by while chasing after the ball, so his popularity was pretty decent too.

Was he simply not… your type? But that couldn’t be—you were always making heart eyes at Park Sunghoon who was two grades above, and he was told all the time that he was basically a lookalike of the guy! Not to mention you were always at Jung Sungchan’s games, cheering his name even when the guy was literally being benched. Taesan never got benched. He was the star player of his soccer team. You fawned over Park Wonbin when he performed at the school’s talent show, but Taesan could also sing and play the electric guitar just as well. You squealed over Lee Sohee because he was sooo cute! but Taesan knew how to get real fucking adorable, too! He practically had all of their qualities combined into one, and not once did you ever look back at him. 

And that’s when it hit him. 

It was prom that night, and he was off at the corner drinking from a cup of water instead of jumping along with the fray and bouncing up and down to some Drake song when his friend, Kim Leehan, approached him. 

“I’m not slow-dancing with you, Leehan,” he muttered, taking another sip of his bland water. “Piss off.”

Leehan raised his arms in response, smiling in a way that was just so Leehan-like of him. “Woah, woah, I get it. Someone pissed in your cup, or something? Literally and figuratively,” he laughed, leaning against the wall next to him. “Lighten up for once, ‘san. It’s your first and last prom, you know?” 

Taesan only grunted in return. 

“Look at you; so emo tonight,” Leehan said, defeated. He followed the other’s gaze towards the dance floor, where everyone is packed together like a can of sardines. “But you’re always so normal around Y/N.” 

Taesan paused.

Leehan laughed again. “Hm, maybe not?” 

Sometimes, it was both a blessing and a curse to be friends with someone like Kim Leehan. 

“Stop talking about things you already know,” Taesan murmured, chucking the water cup into the trash can a few meters away. He placed his hands inside his pockets, looking straight ahead amidst the dizzying lights and the dispersed crowd now that a slow song started playing.

“Why don’t you go ask her for a dance?” Leehan suggested, signaling towards the dance floor. 

“She’s literally holding hands with Yang Jungwon right now,” Taesan deadpanned. “Are you kidding me? How’d she get him of all people as her prom date?” 

Scoring the smartest and the most popular student in your school has got to be the biggest flex of your high school career. Taesan had almost no complaints except for the fact that Yang Jungwon was your date instead of—him! Any moment now and he’d be losing his mind. Actually, scratch that, he probably already was. 

Leehan hummed. 

“Do you think,” he began, slowly, darting his line of sight between you who’s giggling at something Yang Jungwon said, before turning back to Taesan, the angstiest kid he’s ever known. “That, maybe, if you had just asked her out to prom with you… then maybe she’d have said yes?” 

Finally, the gears inside Taesan’s head started to turn. Leehan smiled at the sight.

Taesan quickly scoffed. “No way,” he denied, crossing his arms. “Why would she go with me when she’s got Yang Jungwon as her date? It’d only happen in my dreams.” 

He figured it out anyway. It wasn’t because he wasn’t as handsome as Park Sunghoon, or as sporty as Jung Sungchan, or as musically talented as Park Wonbin (though he’d beg to differ), or as cute as Lee Sohee. Heck, it wasn’t even because he wasn’t as smart or as popular as Yang Jungwon. 

Maybe it was never because of those things that made you look at them instead of him. 

Maybe you were just never interested in him at all. 

And Taesan will have no other choice but to live with that fact forever. 

Leehan’s smile dropped, and he peeled himself away from the wall. Just as he was about to leave, he stopped for a second just to say: “You’re so—stubborn.” 

Taesan looked at him indignantly. “...What’s that supposed to mean?” 

Leehan shrugged, finally walking away. “You tell me, dude.” 

And then he was gone, rushing off to join the rest of their friends while Taesan stayed in the back, alone and miserable all because of his newfound epiphany. Though he supposed he was already miserable the moment you entered the venue with Yang Jungwon right beside you. 

It was a time of new beginnings for Taesan; a time to finally move on from you. 

Though, if only it was that easy.

Two weeks later, when you were working on a final project with him, you unexpectedly dropped the news that you and Jungwon have broken up. Because Jungwon was going to some Ivy League, and you were decidedly… not. You couldn’t handle the thought of being long-distance, so you decided to just cut things off with him since it can’t be helped, you know? And then you proceeded to laugh it off with that huge, idiotic smile of yours before continuing on with the project. Taesan didn’t know what was so funny.

Eventually, he had to share his water with you when you started sobbing hysterically inside of the library, hiccuping and all. 

He admittedly felt awful seeing you cry over Yang Jungwon, your high school boyfriend of probably only two months, but most importantly, he felt awful because of the relief that suddenly washed over him. 

…And what did that make Taesan?

So, really, maybe it was for the better that you would never look at Taesan the way he wished you would. That no matter how many times he has lent you an ear to talk to or a shoulder to cry on, you never bothered to stop for a moment and think that hey, maybe this guy likes me to some capacity, and maybe I should give him a chance. Because what kind of friend is he to feel relieved at the fact that you had gotten dumped by your boyfriend? That when your heart was broken, he could only rejoice at the fact that he now has a higher chance of getting with you once again even when it is so clear that he never once did? 

How could he sit next to you and think such thoughts? 

And yet, even when you keep jumping from one person to another, falling for someone, crying over another—Taesan will always be there for you when it all comes crashing down. A friend to cheer you on, to lift you up, to steady you—because that’s all he’ll ever be to you. 

Han Taesan was only seventeen years old when you ruined his life. 

And for what it is worth, he is still in love with you.

but i also see gortash as one of those people into things like religious choir chanting, classical instrumentals, the opera, and so on haha. (and my way by frank sinatra. somehow i feel it in my bones) there, like this

i think he can play the organ in his room, and quite well, as everything he sets his mind to. his excellent memory sometimes even allows him to play with his eyes closed and so on.

but i think he ultimately sees song and music as something for him. a formula to express and extrude power. music has been a way to worship for aeons and i think he likes to claim that worship. i mean, he literally kidnaps a woman and transplants her brain into the slack-skinned head and makes it sing for him occasionally. a form of art, an expression of people’s many strong ideals, emotions, and life experiences is of course something the machine would like to conquer/‘devour’.

the greatest song of all, the screams of enemies & especially his archnemesis zeke, still follows that same formula, but in an elevated position. ‘the woman trained for it will never sing as sweetly as the bird born for it’ he’s addressing his favourite opera singer here. the bird being zeke, obviously. that’s true song.

zeke i think likes music that comes from the heart. loud, wild, unpredictable to the point of improvisation, expressing emotions and so on. zeke actually plays the violin! his play i think is extremely unusual and carries his ferocity in it with every tune. again, all improvised on the spot.

that aforementioned opera singer & also owner of an entire opera house, annya spiritpetal, is the reason zeke picked it up in the first place. she was one of his first clients and she, similar to zeke in his detective work (but not too similar since she was trained for nothing else since birth, unlike zeke using his natural talents) was considered a child prodigy in her field and despite zeke not really caring for her, she looked out for him occasionally. eventually even asked him to play in the background during her shows for her. zeke does not like crowds very much and he only really did it because she always promised him access to places in higher society whenever he needed it for a case, but she always made sure that he was accommodated very well. so, context for that sentence above? gortash ruins one of these violin performances by simply appearing. zeke is extremely paranoid, sick and just generally mentally unwell at this point in the story because of him and annya would never have let him play if she saw the state he was in, so gortash. ahem. prevents her from attending that evening & doing so, having her arrested for the access she provided for zeke and punishing her transgressions against gortash this way. (again song is for him, and especially zeke’s, whose true song she isn’t even capable of bringing out. this eventually leads to her becoming that singing brain in the slack-skinned head when they meet again years later btw.) what does gortash do at that performance exactly? absolutely nothing besides watching on the highest and best seat available. but zeke spots him in the audience immediately and his paranoia gets the better of him. how does he know about this? why is he here? he has something planned for sure. and after his play reflects the mental state he’s in, he stops after and just fully freaks out, like sobbing, screaming, falling to the floor levels, in front of thousands of people while gortash conducts the finest of the finest melodies.

gortash also actually makes him play a duet (on a violin made out of zeke’s body parts too) with him once, but the song is composed after zeke’s screams of pain from the first time gortash scarred zeke, with his piano part being sort of the ‘inflicting’ power in the piece.

JLaw has never been able to portray being in love wholeheartedly in any of her movies. And you need that as a foundation to build on even if u want to show a tumultuous relationship. Moreover, she cd never exude Ava Gardner's classy, sultry, confidence. Even if she managed to act it on tape she would then ruin it during the film's promo tour by talking about using a cultural heritage site to scratch her butt 🤦🏻 (true story btw)

Leo playing a man whose face is well known didnt work so well in J EDGAR, so this shd be a no go right from the start. People can wait a month and watch stuff on digital so the casting has to be much more air-tight than 'i like working with him'. Plus Ava Gardner & Frank married at ages 28 and 35 respectively, so 49 yr old Leo might be wrong for other reasons as well. Plus Frank was small and wiry.

You gotta think outside of the box Marty! Someone like Eddie Redmayne wd sing the songs (Les Mis) and transform himself physically to become Frank - i dont like Eddie that much but his oscars for The Theory of Everything, The Danish Girl are well deserved. okay hear me out.. i know this seems unlikely but… authright writing you poetry. i feel like he’s not super poetic and he deems expressing his feelings effeminate but he has a “moment of weakness” as he calls it and he starts just pouring out all his feelings for you on the page. it’s rough, unpolished, but incredibly sincere. his love for you spills out in verses, each stanza more romantic than the last… yeah… just my thoughts.

Before I went to train, I heard a patting noise. I scanned my room before realizing that it was coming from outside--

Pat, pat

My thoughts were interrupted as I walked to the door, opening it. To my surprise, I saw no one. As I went to close my door, I felt something pat my foot, in the same manner as the infamous 'pat, pat'. I looked down to see a beautiful baby boy who definitely had too much hair for his little age. I gasped as I bent down to analyze this baby. His piercing, blue eyes lit up almost, as I smiled at the infant. I wasn't sure whose baby it was.

"Hey, Friday, who is this gorgeous baby boy, and where are his carers?" I cooed to the A.I as I scooted closer to pick him up.

I noticed the left arm of his onesie wasn't filled with a cute, chunky baby arm, and as I picked him up, I realized that he didn't even have one.

"Miss L/N, this baby is--"

"Buck?" I said to him as he smiled widely grabbing onto my face with his right hand. "What happened?"

"Mr. Barnes was turned into a baby on a recent mission, and Mr. Stark, Mr. Banner, and Mr. Rogers are currently finding a way to reverse the effects," I stared at his face, still shocked that I was holding baby Bucky.

"Miss L/N, you have an incoming call from Mr. Rogers," I tapped my inner-ear to answer it.

"Y/N, you haven't seen a baby have you-- yes Tony I'm asking her now," Steve said all panicked as Bucky squealed happily, upon hearing Steve's voice.

"Don't worry, Steve. He found his way to my room, I'll look after him if you want,"

"Oh, thank God! We're still working on a 'cure'-- well I don't really know what they're talking about, I'm just here for moral support, I guess,"

"No problem, I used to babysit all the time. Plus, it's Bucky, he's not too hard to look after," I smiled at the baby in my arms.

"Alright, call if you need anything, we'll let you know if we come up with anything. Also, there's a bag in the store cupboard with some baby stuff that Clint left,"

"Ok," and with that, it was just myself and Bucky-- baby Bucky.

There wasn't much to do with him, because every time I put him down, he would cry; typical clingy Buck. I didn't mind, though.

I noticed he was chewing at my hair, so I figured he was hungry. I walked to the kitchen with him, trying to think of things to feed a baby, other than baby food, which we obviously didn't have on hand.

"Hey, Y/N-- Woah, when did you have a baby? You didn't look pregnant," Sam walked in staring at the baby.

"Ha, no, Buck got turned into a baby on a mission," I said, smiling at him. "Actually, could you hold him while I find something for him to eat?" I asked as Sam groaned.

"Urg, fine," I passed him to Sam, before searching the cupboards. "Come on little man, stop moving-- stay still," I looked over to see Bucky getting a bit annoyed. Before we knew it, Bucky was wailing and leaning towards me. I frowned before quickly taking him from Sam.

"That was successful," Sam grumbled before looking in the cupboards for me. "Is apple sauce alright?" he asked as I rocked Bucky, nodding.

Since we didn't have a highchair, I sat Bucky on my lap and fed him with a plastic spoon.

"Wow, Y/N, you're great with kids," Sam said as I wiped the corners of Bucky's mouth. "You're basically wife material if you know what I mean," Bucky and I both looked over to see him wink at me.

I felt Bucky fidget on my lap, making me put the food down and picking him up. "Hey, it's alright, bubba," I said, realizing that adult Bucky usually gets annoyed when Sam flirts with me. "I don't like him, like that," I reassured the baby before I kissed his forehead, smiling as he rested his head in the crook of my neck, snuggling to me.

"Whatever, I'm gonna go," he said leaving quickly. "Let's go rest, you look tired, bubba," I said softly, walking to my room. I laid him down on my bed and changed his nappy, of course covering his manhood, because Bucky's still my co-worker technically, so, you know, gotta keep it professional.

I was tired too, so I laid down on the bed, before grabbing him and laying him on my stomach. He started fidgeting again, rolling over to face me. He reached over to my lips with his little finger and kept prodding them. I looked at him, confused because I didn't know what this baby wanted.

I realized that when Bucky used to get insomnia, I used to sing to him. "Oh, do you want me to sing to you?" I asked. I watched his lips widen into a smile. "Um, alright,"

"And now, the end is near, and so I face the final curtain," I began to sing 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra, softly. "My friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I am certain,"

"I've lived a life that's full, I've traveled each and every highway," I brought him up so his head was resting in my neck. "And more, much more than this, I did it-- my way,"

"Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention, I did what I had to do, and saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway. And more, much more than this, I did it-- my way," I gently rubbed his back as I heard soft breaths leaving his tiny nose.

"Goodnight, bubba," I pressed my lips on his forehead once more. "I really hope you remember this when you turn back," and with that, I slowly fell asleep with him in my arms.

"Y/N, wake up," I flutter my tired eyes open to see adult Bucky standing over me in his training clothes. I shot up quickly and looked down to see no baby in my arms.

"You up for training?" he asked as I wondered why I had such a weird dream; I was probably really hormonal.

"Sure," he offered a hand and pulled me out of bed like I was a feather - perks of the super-soldier serum, I guess. "Hey," I spoke as he turned to me as we walked to the elevator. "I had the strangest dream that you were turned into a baby and that I had to look after you--"

"Oh that happened, Y/N," Sam said as I looked over to him and back at Bucky.

"Do-- do you remember anything, Buck?" I asked. "Yeah, I remember you feeding me,"

"Oh and also, the fact that you're beautiful voice is still capable of putting me to sleep keeps coming up," I blushed as he smiled.

"And more, much more than this, I did it-- my way," he sung as we walked into the elevator.

"I'm glad you remembered," I said, grinning from ear to ear.

"Well, now that you've looked after me as a baby, I think it's only fair that I return a favor and take you out," he said as I smiled.

"I'd like that,"

"Sounds perfect,"

1. Father and Son - Cat Stevens: this song ended up being the main song i would listen to when i would get in the vibe of writing- to the point where i would reread the first chapter with it on to make sure that i was in the vibe lol. While not all the lyrics match, this song really nails the feeling of being a scared parent trying their best. Theres a lot of love in it, and i adore it. 

2. Brandy - Looking Glass: this playlist follows the story fairly loosely, so I wanted this to be Renee’s song. She’s fun and upbeat, and i thought that it really nails down what we THOUGHT Renee was at this point- just a pretty girl that falls in love with a rolling stone. 

3. Just When I Needed You Most - Randy VanWarmer: Renee dies u_u and I was trying to show that spy was very lost right after. 

4. I’m Not In Love - 10cc: whoops how many of these are on the guardians of the galaxy soundtracks rip  At this point we’ve hit the main story, and we have spy very curious of mundy and his intentions. I also dont think spy has really fallen for anyone since Renee, and I think he had himself convinced that he didnt want to find anyone else. this is that lol

5. Moonlight Serenade - Glenn Miller: now this is THE song of this fic lol. I used to play in a jazz band myself, and this song always was so dreamy. It’s slow and romantic with this strange note of longing. I love the old recording quality of it, u feel nostalgic for something u dont know. there were lyrics made later by other artists for singing, but they are just a tad too cheesy for my taste

6. La Vie En Rose - Edith Piaf: I used to listen to the orchestrated version of this song from Bioshock Infinite that u can find here. I enjoy both versions immensely, but the og one is what was on spotify so here we are lol. OH and spy is french, so yeah 

7. Something Stupid - Studio Sound group: The version I am most used to is Sinatra’s version that can be found here. This was the closest version i could find- but i adore this song as well, especially considering its a great consensual pining song. We also have sniper saying stupid lolll, all things considered it was fairly soon after they had met, and I think that was a scary thing for them. 

8. Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow - Freddie Mercury: I fucking cry like 1 out of every 3 times of hearing this song i stg. If theres anyone that can do raw emotion its Freddie. I was looking for a song that conveyed the storming of the agency (and was upbeat for some other songs on the list) without being an action-y song. I debated putting this song in the playlist at all, hoping that it wouldnt be disrespectful to the source material and the origin of its creation. It’s an incredibly powerful experience for the ears.

9. In Our Bedroom After The War - Stars: once upon of time i was pretty sure on having one of the mercs die (NOT demo as a twist lol) This was something i later didnt like, but i still enjoyed this songs acknowledgement of others sacrifices (in this case, mostly Renee’s in terms of death) and the process of grief into victory. A bittersweet victory and looking forward to the future. 

10. Death Of A Bachelor - David Fowler: Panic! at the Disco did this song amazingly well, but it had a lot of electric beats and the whatnot that I think didn’t fit any of the other songs on the playlist, so I chose a nice cover. This is for spy, spy deserves a “im cool” song. It’s also a good transition into some more modern songs and upbeat I have near the end. 

11. My Type - Saint Motel: This was the last song added, but i LOVED how it tied in. The sax at the beginning, the use of “love comes wearing disguises”- it was just a fun song to add of them finally being open. I added 2 Saint Motel songs and I ended up placing them next to each other. Of the two, this one is more like Spy lmao. 

12. Cold Cold Man - Saint Motel: I loved this song for sniper, but i wasn’t dead set on adding it in until I had other more modern songs to back it up. I think (especially in this AU) he’s very reserved simply because he isn’t used to company but a side effect of this is also really attaching onto people he does care about. 

13. Moonlight Serenade - Lucky Chops: when looking for other recordings of this song to listen to I came across this and just KNEW it was like the “credits” song. I was blown away at how lovely the arrangement is. Here we have the dreamy tune played with a “hey everything turned out ok after all” vibe. All of Lucky Chops stuff is great btw please give them love 

14. My Way - Frank Sinatra: Hey when did I start this fic? May 2017? And when did the Kingsman 2 trailer come out??? April 2017?? What a WEIRD coincidence. This totally did not effect how I treated this AU. Not at all. I definitely didn’t name the fic after this song but in a weird way that no one got dkjvnsdvkjvnds  But honestly, Ive loved this song for years and it’s an amazing note to end on.

The Masked Singer Season 3 Episode 5: Group B Playoffs (Commentary and Guesses)

Hello fellow Masked Singer lovers! Welcome (or welcome back) to my commentary and guesses for the Masked Singer, this time for the Group B Playoffs, where 5 remaining masks compete for 4 spots at the Group B championships. Ok, so let’s begin with the celebrity mask who was eliminated (btw I am pissed at this one ngl)...

Disclaimer: This is a spoiler alert, don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you don’t want the show spoiled, get out of here...

Ok so now that they’re gone, the eliminated mask was 

*DRUMROLL PLEASE*

THE MOUSE 

Ughhhhh why Masked Singer?! Why do you keep doing this to me? Always taking away the legends who deserve to stay on the show way longer than some others... not gonna name names, but yo White Tiger I’m looking at you. Anyways, yup I was sad about this, but I knew who the mouse was since the first time I saw her. 

So, the Mouse was revealed to be... *SPOILER* 

DIONNE WARWICK  

Wow, yeah I was not surprised, this was too easy. Even my mom knew it was her and she doesn’t really know many American celebrities. The clues totally gave it away: 

Rhino sculpture= her record company is called Rhino Records

Prayer hands= her hit song I sing a little prayer for you and she is also a woman of faith 

Putting on makeup= I sang a little prayer for you lyric “the moment I wake up before I put on my makeup” 

Brazil nuts= she lived in Brazil for years

They asked all the masked singers what their favorite subject in school is and she said math = she does have the Dionne Warwick Institute of Economics and Entrepreneurship, a magnet school focusing on economics which she did mention had to do with why she liked math

As for her performance, her voice is so recognizable like wow. She sang “This will be an everlasting love” by Natalie Cole and it was a beautiful performance. I loved it and I am actually really sad to see her go. She really did a great job in her performance because she’s a living legend. 

Anyways, now that we are done with that, let’s take a look at our remaining 4 masked singers, one of which I have figured out and one of which is stumping me and 2 that I am maintaining firm on my guesses: 

1. The Taco  

Performance: Like I said last week, Taco is quickly becoming my favorite performer in this group. He sang Elvis Presley’s Bossa Nova Baby and it was a perfect song for his vocal ability. He has a very old crooner voice, like a Frank Sinatra vibe. He’s also really funny and it looked like he was having fun in this performance. Never thought I would love a guy in a taco costume but here we are so I think that guy is... 

TOM BERGERON 

Ok so I am 100% sure on this one, I know other people think it’s Tim Allen but no it’s not him, I am positive it is Tom Bergeron because of the clues: 

Whoopee Cushion= allude to America’s Funniest Home Videos (AFHV) or because Whoopi Goldberg was a main square on Hollywood Squares, which he hosted. 

The female taco he met that helped him become less of a hot head= his wife, he had anger issues before meeting her and learned to meditate because of her 

Gemini constellation= him and his wife got married in gemini season May 22, 1982 

The circular globe with the constellation= resembles the shape of the mirrorball trophy from Dancing with the Stars which he hosts 

In the package, he was dancing with the “Mrs. Taco”= allude to Dancing with the Stars perhaps. 

2. The Frog

Performance: Ok so ngl I wanted him to go home. He was my least favorite performance of the night, not because he was bad per se, it was just weird what he did with the song. He sang “In Da Club” by 50 Cent and oh wow he changed it to make it sound more jazzy and the lyrics were changed to be family friendly, which is all good, but it didn’t sound natural. It sounded a bit off the music with what he was singing. It was pretty shaky in the beginning, but I started liking it a bit in the middle of it. He’s a bomb dancer tho, very talented and smooth dancer. 

Alright so I think this frog is as I said last week: 

BOW WOW 

I feel pretty good about this one especially looking at the clues: 

Typewriter with the letters “CSI” emphasized= starred in CSI: Cyber 

“Frog Eat Frog world”= real saying is “dog eat dog” world so another reference to his stage name Bow Wow. 

Fame Star with $19 price tag= when he was 19, wrote a song called the price of fame

Little Green Soldiers= collaborated with Soulja Boy on mixtapes 

3. The Banana 

Performance: Ok, so this one I really am warming up to. I like him more now than I did last week, because he was more real and I don’t know I just really enjoy when he performs. It is always fun to see him perform, but having said that, oh my gosh you guys I feel like I know who he is and I am sure about this even though last week I was confused af... this week the clues helped me get it. 

I think the Banana is: 

BRET MICHAELS 

Ok I am so sure about this one, the body type and height match. The accent and voice matches his too and the clues really solidified it for me this time: 

Snake on the computer= poisonous= his band named Poison  

Cowboy Boots and Hats= he was those all of the time 

Alarm clock with 2:13= 2nd letter of the alphabet is b and the 13th one is m (his initials) 

6/8 on the alarm clock= June 8th is National Name Your Poison Day 

4. The Kitty 

Performance: Ok, like I know I love the kitty and her voice is amazing, but she’s really confusing me. I felt like last week I was sure about Sabrina Carpenter and that’s what I heard in her voice, but now I am hearing something completely different. She sang Mercy by Brett Young and I don’t feel like this is a song Sabrina would sing. I am really torn with this one, so this is just a guess that I have so far, but I have no idea: 

LUCY HALE? 

Ok, so hear me out. I have been going back and forth between her and Sabrina Carpenter and in this performance, she didn’t sound like Sabrina and when I looked up Lucy’s voice, it sounded very similar to this performance and the song choice made sense because of Lucy’s love of country music, but let’s look at the clues: 

The sewing in the clue package looks eerily similar to her role as Katy Keene in the CW Riverdale spin-off show that just came out of the same name. 

Red Riding Hood= allude to Pretty Little Liars which used red riding hood as a metaphor for the show

I mean I don’t know she is very short (5′ 2″) so fits the profile

So homecoming is comin’ up yeah? Yeah well for me anyways. So there’s this girl I really wanna ask, but she’s kinda sensitive, and I don’t wanna make her feel uncomfy, or anything like that. We’re not together now because the day after I confessed she said that she had a talk with her parents, and she said she thinks she isn’t ready for this kinda thing. I was pretty torn up even though we hadn’t been together long, and asked her if she even really liked me in the first place as gently as possible, and she says she did, but at the time I was kinda doubtful. THEN she hooks up with this other guy, and I “secretly” got pretty jealous, and I’m pretty sure she noticed, even though I tried my best to hide it. I confessed over 8 months ago, It’s been like 4 or 5 months since I brought up the topic at all with her, and they broke up around 4 months ago because he was a bit of a dick (probs a more than a tad biased here but I asked another girl who was with him at some point and she agrees tho she’s also probs a tad biased.) Anyway, so it’s been a bit of a while, we’ve let the dust settle, and for the life of me, I can’t get her out of my head! You see, I have anxiety, and a bunch of other problems, but when I’m around her it feels like all my problems melt away. She knows how to make me forgive and forget my own mistakes which is normally excruciatingly hard for me to do considering all the crappy self loathing issues. I talked to my parents about it, and they don’t even think I’m even really bisexual because “I liked boys more when I was younger” and “I never acted like this when I was in elementary school.” They also said that I might not be ready for this kind of thing because I can’t figure out what I want right now because of the whole anxiety thing and stuff. This might be true, but I can’t help but feel so free when I’m with her which makes me even more confused soooo???!!?! So now I’m torn between my own feelings, my morals, and my conscience, and it’s practically tearing me apart. I just feel like I’d be better if I told her ya know??? If that make sense????? I just wanna be with her because she makes me so happy, and she’s always putting herself down, and I always wanna say something, but I feel like it’d always be a bit too cuddly, so I try something a little more friendly rather than lovey dovey though I always wish I could say it because HhhhHHHHWHYCANTYOUREALIZEHOWFREAKINGPERFECTYOUAREHHHhHHHHHH!!!!!! Basically, I need advice. Should I ask her? If I should any ideas how??? Because I don’t even really have any idea how to start... I wanna do something at least, but not too extravagant, so I don’t “scare” her. Right now my main idea is to sing Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra, and give her a note with something along the lines of “It would send my heart over the moon if you’d be my date to homecoming.” What do you think? Ah, the 1900s. The century of fun and excitement and endless days of partying with the jukeboxes in the local diners. The period where music stole every person’s soul, hearts and mind and forced them to jump and sway to the beat when present. For you, music meant nothing more than a casual relaxant to everyday life as a nurse working in your local hospital. It was just a means for loosening up. But to some, music was about finding love in another. Which is exactly what happened to your best friend, Ruby, who seems much more as family than an close acquaintance. It’s the reason why you find yourself casually sipping a small glass of ale while sitting, cross-legged and relaxed, at a nearby table just short of the large space made for the dancing groom and bride and other couples who were caught up in the love fest.

Your eyes watch with proud dignity as Sam spins Ruby at an arm’s length before reeling her back into his chest; beautiful, cascading waterfalls of silky brown hair masking her pure joy as she throws her head forward and laughs. Clad in traditional black tuxedos and white wedding gowns, the pair was nothing but carefree, living-in-the-moment, as some would say.

Maybe it’s the Las Vegas effect, you think as you catch the twinkling lights from above winking down at you. Well, they seem more like stars than actual lights. The large room was dimmed down to semi-darkness, only the twinkle and sparkles from the light above and the winking gems on the dresses of the guests and bridesmaids seem to shine out on this evening. It was a flurry of sparkles coming from the crowd on the spacious dance floor, women twirling with their partners, dresses hitting the light at a perfect angle, showing off their sparkly dress. It was almost like a game to see whose dress would sparkle most.

Your gaze is brought back down by an audible clearing of a throat. Your eyes settle to find your ‘friend’ clashing tonight in a sharp three-piece suit with a complimentary flower by its upper suit pocket, clear sign that he was the best man at this wedding. Even if the ballroom was dark, your eyes can’t mistake the familiarity of that amused pair of emerald green eyes that met yours.

A slight smirk tugs at the end of his stubbled jaw as he extends his left hand, right hand tucked into his pants pocket.

“Mind if I have this dance, madam? That is, if you aren’t too preoccupied with the light from above.”

You couldn’t help the blush that forms on your cheeks as you take his hand, bringing yourself up from the chair you’ve been holding hostage for an hour. You shoot your partner with an eye roll and an overexaggerated sigh.

“Since you asked so nicely, I suppose it’s no harm sharing a dance with you,” you pause a few moments as he brings you out onto the dance floor and places his arms around your waist, and yours on his shoulders. “Dean Winchester.”

Dean only laughs in return, the familiar crinkle of his eyes evident as the two of you sway to the faint music coming from the stage. “It’s only fair that I ask. You were looking rather lonely over there.”

Dean leans down to your right ear and inserts in that husky voice of his, “Besides, I like making the other girls twinkle with jealousy. And I’m not talking about the way I look tonight either.”

With a teasing bite to your earlobe that left you gasping in surprise, Dean pulls back to twirl you before he pulls you in. The two of you are still in the same position you started out with, his hands on your waist and your hands on his shoulders. You feel yourself flush with color as you roll your eyes again, trying to brush off the way he makes you feel inside.

“Again with the charms,” you hear yourself say. “Does that work on other women that you’ve asked to dance with too?”

Upon hearing the song finally end by the signaling of people clapping, you make an attempt to go and make it just as far as an arm’s length before Dean grips your wrist in a gentle hold, forcing you to stop and quirk an eyebrow up at him with a questioning look.

Just as you were about to question him, thinking that he’d only ask for a dance and nothing more, loud squeals of cheering overpowered you and you cast a glance towards the music stage where Frank Sinatra has suddenly appeared. He grins that charming smile of his before gripping the microphone gingerly in his hands as he brings it up to his mouth, light dimming overheard on cue.

The moment the intro to the song starts to fill your ears, you feel yourself smiling softly at the irony. At the exact moment, Dean starts to tug gently on your wrist, pulling you in and you let him.

“Give me five minutes more, only five minutes more.”

You could hear Sinatra’s voice flow smoothly loud over the speakers, but as Dean ropes you in closer and wraps a tight arm around your waist and causally swoops his mouth down to your ears at a good distance but close enough so that only you could hear what was being said. Or sung.

You feel a bubbly small smile lift onto your lips as you listen to Dean singing softly into your ear, soft, husky and extremely irresistible.

“Let me stay, let me stay in your arms,” Dean hums into your ear pleasantly and you could feel the smile on his lips as he sings against your hair.

In the distance, you see that your best friend has taken a break with her husband and is standing by the refreshments. Although Sam is busy chatting with someone else, he has his arms wrapped around Ruby’s waist, never letting go. Ruby is, however, free to do anything and the two of you made eye contact immediately. Ruby places a hand over her mouth and you could imagine her giving you a gasp of surprise, before she shoots a grin towards you and give you an over enthusiastic thumbs up with both hands, drawing the attention of her newlywed husband, Sam. Ruby points to the position you and Dean were currently dancing at and Sam could only offer a look of utter surprise before he nods his head and grins your way, offering the same enthusiastic thumbs-up as his wife. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes. God, those two do belong with each other.

You decide to return your focus on the handsome devil dancing with you. You wrap your arms around Dean’s shoulders, fingers clasping as you lay your head in the crook of his neck, swaying softly with him with your forehead pressed against his chiseled, stubbled jaw. Dean plants a kiss on your hair and continues to sing softly under his breath, head dipped down slightly as he grips you in a tight embrace.

“Here am I, begging for five minutes more,” Dean sings into your hair so softly as if his voice was meant just for you and no one else. “Only five minutes more of your charms. Except I’m the charming one in this relationship.”

You laugh at the quick comment. “Relationship? I thought you don’t do relationships.”

Dean hums into your hair, inhaling and exhaling slowly. “You’re different. You make me feel...alive. I think I...I think I love you.”

You feel your heart swell and beat faster at his confession. Here was Dean, the playboy of the town, admitting he had the case of love sickness for you. Dean Winchester, who never kept any women for more than two days, who you’ve known since high school and occasionally messed around with, admitting that he loves you was mind blowing. Honestly? You felt the same affection for him, but because of his notorious reputation with women, you kept your feelings to yourself.

“Yeah? How do I know you’re not lying?”

Dean pulls away and takes your hand to spin you before pulling you in and dipping you, gaze never leaving yours as he smiles fondly down at you.

“Because who else would have had the materials to rent your favorite singer for the night besides me?”

Dean brings you up and you rest your head against his, swaying once more to the beat. The song was close to its ending, you could tell. Your twinkling eyes never left Dean’s bright green ones.

“That was you? I...It must’ve cost a fortune out of your pocket. Dean, why would you do that just for me?”

Dean laughs softly into the air between you two and leans in for a quick, passionate kiss that ended too soon for you liking. He pecks your lips one more time before he leans his forehead against yours, the cool sweat of his skin touching yours. On another circumstance, you would have objected and pulled away, but you didn’t care. Not right now anyways.

“You’re worth the hole in my pocket, darling.”

You couldn’t help but smile widely at his statement. Every touch that Dean made on your skin burned like fire and it took a whole lot of willpower for you not to pounce on him straight away. You close your eyes, smiling into the moment as the two of you dance to the ending of the song with your foreheads touching and arms wrapped around each other in a tight embrace.

“Let me stay, let me stay in your arms.”

“You can stay in my arms as long as you want, Dean Winchester. I’m all yours. Now and forever, my love.” You feel yourself smile wider as Dean closes the gap between his and your lips, sharing a kiss that was filled with hidden promises and untold secrets that were dying to be let out ages ago.

Here you are, dancing under the stars of Las Vegas. Slowly falling more in love with Dean Winchester, the playboy who stole your heart a long time ago.

RIP Pat Patterson.

The WWE and the entire wrestling world lost a legend this week with the passing of Pat Patterson at the age of 79. The original Intercontinental Champion was also the creator of one of the WWE’s signature events, the Royal Rumble.

I’ll remember him for his infamous feud with Sgt. Slaughter that led to a classic Boot Camp Match and Alley Match in Madison Square Garden. After an accomplished in-ring career that started out in the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco, continued through the AWA and ultimately the WWE, Patterson moved into the announcer’s chair alongside Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon.

The WWE Hall of Famer actually won the 24/7 Championship, becoming the oldest champion in WWE history at 78. He’s been a trusted ally and producer behind the scenes for McMahon. What’s funny about him being the first I-C Champion is the fact that he “won” it in a tournament that never took place back in 1979 in Mexico City. It was a title created to be the second biggest championship in the company behind the then WWF Heavyweight Championship. The tribute to Patterson on SmackDown was very well done, including him singing “My Way,” a Patterson favorite along with Frank Sinatra. If you missed it, watch it here.

Interesting to see both the WWE and RAW Women’s Champions both in tag team action this week.

As I’ve said in previous weeks, I really like Drew McIntyre and Sheamus together. The friendship and backstory is real. Both want to kick the *&$( out of The Miz and John Morrison and it just works. You have the built-in story of the WWE Champion vs. the Money In the Bank holder too. Sheamus as a tweener good guy will work for a bit until he ultimately turns on Drew next year.

The opening A Moment of Bliss with Alexa Bliss and Randy Orton was really good to start the night. Orton was spot on with his mic work defining Bray Wyatt and The Fiend. Plus, Orton didn’t back down when The Fiend appears, instead handing Bliss, who was in Orton’s arms as the lights came on, back to The Fiend while asking “who’s laughing now.” Good stuff as expected.

How the heck did Jeff Hardy not break his neck on the steel steps with that swanton off the top ring post? Damn that was scary! BTW: Didn’t we get a Symphony of Destruction match before with Elias and Braun Strowman back in March of 2018? The RAW announce crew made it seem like it was a first-time thing. Tough night for Elias. Shocked and swantoned!

Dana Brooke joins Ricochet against RETRIBUTION. First Brooke slaps Ali, then accidently knocks off RECKONING’s (Mia Yim) mask before pinning Yim. How the hell the RAW announce team wasn’t screaming “that’s Mia Yim” is beyond me! Should’ve capitalized on it and make it part of the angle. 

I smell a tag team title match coming for Asuka and Lana in the near future! For the second week in the row, Asuka and Lana get the win over Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler. It’s nice not to see Lana roughed up for a second straight week. Jax & Baszler’s act is getting old and I can see the belts changing hands at TLC. Maybe Asuka can ask Sasha Banks & Bayley for two-belt advice!

Cedric Alexander got the pin over Xavier Woods, but it looks like there could be a little dissention in the ranks of The Hurt Business. MVP and Shelton Benjamin didn’t seem to enjoy Alexander walking up the ramp celebrating his victory without them. Something to watch.

The triple threat number one contender’s match went as expected. Styles pins Riddle after a decent match. So, now we get McIntyre vs. Styles for the first time ever at TLC. Looks like this was the backup plan after Braun Strowman got injured and now suspended for the storyline.

Let’s just say there was a lot to the main event. Would Sheamus turn on Drew? Would AJ Styles help The Miz to cash in his MITB contract? Would the WWE Champ maintain his dominance over The Miz and John Morrison? Well, let’s just suffice it to see that Sheamus stayed true. AJ tried. The Miz tried and didn’t quite cash in. Now, it’s on between The Phenomenal One and McIntyre at TLC! Awesome line by Drew to close the night – “Jackass and the Beanstalk” – when talking about AJ and his bodyguard. FAS!

I’ll be honest, heading into WarGames this Sunday, I expected a little bit more from NXT. The main event was amazing, especially with the surprise of NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai joining Team Shotzi! Anytime you can add a talent like Shirai to a match like WarGames, it’s a win-win. I will say though that the use of the ladder match is getting a bit overused in NXT these days. There are other ways to do an advantage match.

The rest of the show, however, wasn’t really something to remember. Pat McAfee’s promo in the ring, which is usually on spot, went a bit too long and kind of just rambled along. The Undisputed ERA vignette didn’t do much for me to help build the WarGames match. Don’t get me wrong, the match will be amazing, but the lack of build-up Wednesday night was a bit of a letdown.

Outside of the main event, the opening tag team match was fun and a good spot to showcase Leon Ruff and Damien Priest’s NXT North American Championship match with Johnny Gargano doing commentary. It was also different to see them in there in a tag team match with NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar leading Legado Del Fantasma. You have to wonder if we see more of the Scream guys too. They’re a hoot!

Dexter Lumis and Cameron Grimes trading strap barbs was predictable as was Tommaso Ciampa showing up in Timothy Thatcher’s Thatch-As-Thatch-Can distraction session. In both cases, the matches Sunday will be fine, but the road to get there was a bit disappointing.

Giving Ever-Rise a bit of a rub with the Grizzled Young Veterans and Imperium was interesting. I can get into a GYV vs. Imperium feud. That was a pretty good match with an unsatisfying ending with Ever-Rise coming back for the DQ to get back at Imperium for chucking them out of their match with the GYV.

If it’s Friday night, it must be time for Roman Reigns to deliver! Simply put, Reigns is the most dynamic performer right now in the business.

First, trying to belittle Kayla Braxton to open the night for some “shoddy” questions, even when they weren’t. Talk about trying to exude your dominance! Then, accepting Kevin Owens TLC match challenge for two weeks. It’s amazing how good Reigns is in his current role as the Tribal Chief and Head of the Table. Now, with Owens, he’s got a worthy challenger as well. I’m hoping it’s not just a one-off PPV feud. As for the main event tag team match, Reigns of course let Uso start the match by himself before coming in mid-match and destroying Otis. leaving Owens by himself. Nothing starts without the Head of the Table right? Reigns’ utter contempt for Uso’s lack of success in trying to beat Owens was beautiful, but ultimately put a DQ loss on his own team. Just seconds later though, it’s a double-chair beatdown on KO for the knockout to the TLC challenger. What puts it over the top is the attack on his own cousin too! Roman has all of our attention now! Look out Owens family.

Kudos to Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Mysterio for putting on an entertaining 6-man match to honor Pat Patterson. The current and former Intercontinental Champions surely did the first I-C Champion proud with their efforts. Fitting to Mysterious see Bryan pin Zayn with the small package, a Patterson favorite and then Ziggler selling the atomic knee drop after the match too. Well done and it looks like we may get Zayn vs. Bryan again, this time with the title on the line.

Carmella vs. Sasha, the War of Words got my attention. Carmella makes every point on how she should be on Sasha’s level. She’s more than just the hot chick who walked into the Performance Center on a whim while Sasha worked her whole life to get there. Fightin’ words my friends! I’d love to see Corey Graves get involved in this one too to take this one to the next level!

We didn’t enjoy part one of King Corbin vs. Murphy. What made the WWE think we wanted a part 2?  Looks like The Forgotten Sons got a makeover to be part of the KC Court and quickly help the King out to a victory in the rematch. There’s no End of Days to this feud apparently.

Parting Shots:

A very interesting week outside the WWE! Former WWE Champion Jon Moxley lost his AEW Championship to Kenny Omega while kicking off a new partnership with Impact Wrestling as Don Callis helped Omega win the title and take the title presumably to Tuesday nights. Plus, Sting debuted in AEW with a shiny new multi-year contract to help out Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin. Are we getting a scenario reminiscent of the old territory days where companies will actually work together to compete with the WWE? If they can get along, it’s a good strategy with lots of possibilities.

It’s a busy Sunday for the WWE with the Tribute to the Troops airing on FOX Sunday afternoon either before or after the NFL game in your market (3pm or 4:30pm) and then NXT TakeOver: WarGames Sunday night at 7pm on the WWE Network.

Do u have a favorite band/artist? Sorry if this is a weird question, just curious. :)

This is not weird at all omg. I’m surprised that someone cares enough to ask me about my taste in music. I would link you to my spotify playlist, but sharing that makes me feel kind of vulnerable. So I guess I should point out that I don’t listen to country, and that’s probably the only genre I will NEVER listen to. That being said, I’ll just list off some long-time favorites and then some recent favorites! :)

Long-time favorite bands/artists (in no particular order):

Maroon 5 -btw their new album rocks my fucking socks

Adam Lambert

The All-American Rejects

Owl City -I’m not a fan of his newer stuff, but I have like… 4 or 5 CDs?

We Came As Romans -This is my “don’t fucking talk to me” music, edgy right?

One Direction

Eminem -I stole my brother’s copy of Curtain Call and I still don’t think he knows about it lol

Frank Sinatra -My grandpa’s favorite that helps me feel like I haven’t lost him. He used to sing “This Is My Love” to me, so naturally that’s my favorite.

Fall Out Boy

Enrique Iglesias -I WILL OWN EVERY ALMBUM OKAY??? I’M ALMOST THERE

Recent favorites (in no particular order):

The Midnight -I can listen to their albums without skipping a song I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I DON’T THINK YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM OKAY????

The Weeknd -pretty decent, but I don’t love ALL of the songs, but it’s not bad! :) edit: the song “Secrets” IS THE BEST THING I’VE EVER PLAYED ON LOOP.

A R I Z O N A -yes that is how their name is spelled lol. The Midnight did a remix of one of their songs and it was GREAT and so is the original.

Sleeping Wolf -Great music, 10/10 would recommend. My favorite song is “Ghost”.

Imagine Dragons -I’ve loved them for a long time, but I’ve recently gotten back into their music.

Starset -I also just recently got back into their music as well. The newest album is AMAZING!!! Monster is definitely my favorite, but they’re all amazing! :)

Smooth Jazz - I don’t have a particular band, I just really like smooth jazz. It’s relaxing and good for writing :)

80s synthpop/synthwave -also a recent favorite genre that I’ve gotten into. The Midnight is definitely one of those bands that belongs to this genre.
