Create a company: 12 principals, 10 first soloists, 10 soloists, splitting the genders equally.
Sir, yes, sir!
(And I’m gonna be a good girl and not gonna include retired dancers, but it’s gonna hurt, just so you know!)
Principals:
Alina Cojocaru Leonore Baulac Francesca Hayward Ludmila Pagliero Dorothée Gilbert Olga Smirnova Mathieu Ganio Edward Watson Adam Zvonař (I don’t have THREE more men! I just... don’t!) Karl Paquette Johan Kobborg Adam Cooper all basically retired, but see if I care!
First Soloists:
Marion Barbeau Ida Praetorius Melissa Hamilton Fumi Kaneko Claire Calvert Marcelino Sambé Hugo Marchand William Bracewell Matěj Šust Vincent Chaillet
Soloists:
Stina Quagebeur Francesca Velicu Marine Ganio Bianca Scudamore Aya Watanabe Calvin Richardson James Lovell Bradley Waller (a contemporary dancer, but I want him here) Max Westwell Francesco Scarpato
(Huh, that was much harder then I expected!)

Oliviers predictions! Or, more accurately, a bunch of guesswork based off having seen very few shows nominated for Oliviers despite seeing a whole bunch of stuff that was eligible.
(Full list of nominations is here.)
EDIT: I’ve marked which I got right. It’s... not many.
Best actor in a supporting role in a musical: Jason Pennycooke, Hamilton (he was my standout anyway in this overly Hamilton-dominated category)
Best actress in a supporting role in a musical: Tracie Bennett, Follies (if not her, Rachel John in Hamilton, but for only-guessing-one-person purposes I’m saying Tracie)
Outstanding achievement in music: Hamilton
Best new dance production*: Flight Pattern
Outstanding achievement in dance*: Francesca Velicu
Best entertainment & family: Five Guys Named Moe (I only saw Dick Whittington and it was a panto so it's fun but pretty empty)
Best theatre choreographer: Randy Skinner, 42nd Street (Hamilton is very well-done and slick but 42nd Street is insane)
Best musical revival: Follies
Best actor in a musical: John McCrea, Everybody's Talking About Jamie (I don’t want this to become the Hamiltoliviers as much as it became the Hamiltonys and John was excellent.)
Best actress in a musical: Imelda Staunton, Follies
Best revival: Angels in America
Best new comedy: Labour of Love (I saw Dry Powder and as much as I love Hayley Atwell, she was definitely the highlight and the script was... only compelling because of the performances...)
Outstanding achievement in affiliate theatre*: The Red Lion
Best lighting design: Follies
Best sound design: Gareth Owen, Bat Out Of Hell (they might throw Bat Out Of Hell a bone. or it'll go to Hamilton.)
Best costume design: Roger Kirk, 42nd Street (I'd love for it to go to Dick Whittington because that was a feast for the eyes, but I doubt it. Also Follies is my other bet but I can't see 42nd Street winning much.)
Best set design: Vicki Mortimer, Follies
Best actor in a supporting role: Bertie Carvel, Ink
Best actress in a supporting role: Denise Gough, Angels in America
Best new opera production*: The Exterminating Angel
Outstanding achievement in opera: Paul Brown, Iolanthe
Best actor: Andrew Garfield, Angels in America
Best actress: Audra McDonald, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill (I'll riot if she doesn't win no matter how strong that category is)
Best director: Thomas Kail, Hamilton
Best new play: The Ferryman
Best new musical: Hamilton
So basically - lots of Follies and Hamilton, but hopefully some other shows will get a look in, as there were lots of amazing shows this year. And good shows that do at least warrant a nod. And also Bat Out Of Hell which is a bizarre fever dream but a fun one.
Also, The Grinning Man and Romantics Anonymous deserved better. (Louis Maskell deserved a leading actor nomination, and The Grinning Man deserved set design too. I’d put either of them up for Best Musical over An American In Paris, no question.)
Also anything with an asterisk I am 100% guessing, as opposed to 75% guessing for the rest of them. I just read a lot of reviews and see a lot of reactions on Twitter.

English National Ballet’s Emerging Dancer competition, now in its tenth edition, will be hosted by former Principal of The Royal Ballet Adam Cooper. The competition will return to Sadler’s Wells on Tuesday 7 May 2019 and will be live streamed worldwide.
Through this annual event, English National Ballet recognises the excellence of its artists who are selected by their peers to take part. Six of the company’s most promising dancers perform in front of a distinguished panel of judges before one of them receives the 2019 Emerging Dancer Award.
Also revealed on the night will be the recipients of the People’s Choice Award, voted on by members of the public, and the Corps de Ballet Award, acknowledging the work on and off-stage of a member of the company’s Corps de Ballet.
Joining ENB’s Artistic Director, Tamara Rojo, on the judging panel will be Guest Character Artist at English National Ballet and former Principal of The Royal Ballet Michael Coleman; dance writer Gerald Dowler; performer, choreographer and director Carrie-Anne Ingrouille; founder of mavinkhooDance and rehearsal director to Akram Khan Company Mavin Khoo; and former Principal of The Royal Ballet Sarah Wildor.

As is tradition, and a very fine touch, this year’s finalists have been mentored by their peers in the Company. Pedro Lapetra has worked with Julia Conway and Rentaro Nakaaki; Julia has also worked with Shiori Kase during the process. Alice Bellini has been supported by Junor Souza and Fernanda Oliveira, as well as Jeffrey Cirio for her solo; Erina Takahashi and Adela Ramírez have coached Emilia Cadorin; Shale Wagman has been mentored by Fernando Bufalá and Rhys Antonio Yeomans has been working with James Forbat and Barry Drummond.
The evening will be live streamed via Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Last year the Emerging Dancer LIVE achieved over 100,000 views worldwide.

A Day In The Life Of A Ballet Dancer: Behind The Scenes With English National Ballet's Francesca Velicu
"Rising star Velicu, who was born in Bucharest, is certainly one to keep your eye on. Earlier this year, she picked up an Olivier Award, named the winner of Outstanding Achievement in Dance for her performance in Pina Bausch's Le Sacre du Printemps. She joined the English National Ballet in 2016 and was quickly promoted to First Artist the following year. ... We caught up with her in rehearsals to find out more about what it takes to become a ballet dancer, and how she spends each day." (video)

What would be your first, second and third cast for the POB Mayerling run?
Any company?
That’s too hard, do you know how many parts there are?!
Rudolf - Johan Kobborg, Edward Watson… and all right, yes, I’d love to see Mathieu Ganio precisely because it is not a role many people would associated with him (nobody would, let’s be real)(And Vlad Lantratov would be very good)
Mary - Alina Cojocaru, Frankie Hayward, Nancy Osbaldeston
Marie Larish - Melissa Hamilton, Ekaterina Krysanova, Nikola Márová (you have no idea, do you?)
Mitzy Caspar - Marianela Nunez, Dorothée Gilbert, Maria Alexandrova
empress Elisabeth - Kristen McNally, Stina Quagebeur, Drew Jacoby
princess Stephanie - Leonore Baulac, Ida Praetorius, Francesca Velicu

But what Francesca DID win this year was Olivier award for her role of the chosen one in Pina Bausch’s Rite of Spring and was actually the cutest!
(Plus she thanked Alina and Johan in the first place and I may or may not died at the moment.)
