his worried, brown eyes are scanning your face before he's pulling you into a hug and apologizing for going too hard on you

your face is stinging and tears are in your eyes solely from where the ball ended up hitting you, but you reassure him that you’re okay

unfortunately, makki, iwaizumi, and mattsun arrive for the lil game that oikawa had scheduled... just in time to see the tears in your eyes

they roast him mercilessly, which kinda makes up for the whole thing in your opinion

during the game, they sent easy shots your way so you can play but whale on oikawa the whole time lmao poor guy can’t catch a break

they love that mf but they’re on team f/n for the day

is super excited to teach you bc he loves you and volleyball!

however, he’s not the best coach since he forgets to explain things completely through until you mess up and he realizes he forgot a step

however, getting hit in the face at some point is inevitable when learning a new sport

it happens when he’s having you practice diving (on the first day?? really tsumu?? wild!!)

he hits -> you dive -> you miss the ball -> it bounces up and smacks you in the face

is concerned at first, but when he realizes you’re okay aside from being a bit dazed, the two of you laugh it off

he still pulls you into a tight hug and gives you some forehead kisses 🥺

will treat you to your favorite snack/food afterwards for being a trooper and sticking it out even if it wasn’t your favorite thing!

- Everything that his S/O would dislike about themselves would be his favorite traits of them. Stretch marks, scars, freckles, deformities, he adores them all. It’s what makes his S/O unique and special.

- MoF definitely has a whole bunch of coffee mugs with psychology and chemistry puns on them.

- Please, please let him get used to the feeling of loving touches. Anytime he experiences physical touch, he flinches or jumps away from the contact. He’s spent his whole life associating physical contact with pain that he can’t help but shy away from someone else’s hand. 

- He LOVES musicals! Sweeney Todd has to be one of his top favorites to watch at any given time. He can and has watched different productions back to back in a single day and would gladly do it again.

- Has a strange fascination with lava lamps. Watching the slowly flowing fluid inside a glowing lamp calms him down after a stressful day. He especially enjoys ones that change color frequently. 

- Once he gets used to his S/O touching him comfortingly, he’ll absolutely cling to them at all times when he’s able to. Expect him to wrap his long limbs around his S/O while sleeping and to never let them go. Of course he would only hang onto them if he’s allowed to. He’ll more than happily let his S/O have their space if they need it for whatever reason. 

- MoF is slightly allergic to cats but he would do anything to have a lil kitty curl up to take a nap in his lap while he reads. The pain and misery afterwards is worth it in his opinion. 

- He’s both a dog and cat person. He’s more fond of bigger dogs than anything like a small lap dog. He loves Great Danes, Wolfhounds and Boxers the most. The more the dog is misunderstood when it’s actually really sweet, the more he loves them.

- Spoils his S/O like there’s no tomorrow. 

- Totally a sucker for point and click and psychological horror games (I mean, what Crane wouldn’t be?). Fran Bow, Resident Evil, Outlast, Silent Hill, Amnesia and Layers of Fear are his top favorites to play when he gets the chance.

✧ naturally, he runs through the potential situations in his head of what could be bothering his lil baby as he goes to lift him out of the crib so he can figure out how to help. but there’s nothing clearly wrong and the crying just does not subside, even after nanami walks around the room for a lil bit with him in his arms and tries his best to calm him down

✧ the longer the baby cries, the more worried he becomes that a) you’ll have to wake up and come into the nursery to sort things out, and that b) his baby just doesn’t even like his dear dad that much. either way, he’s v tired n stressed

✧ when you wander into the room, rubbing your weary eyes, you can see the look of disappointment and failure clearly present on his face and sit down beside him to help him out

✧ as soon as you hold your son in your arms, the tears start to subside, but nanami’s worries only deepen since he’s now entirely convinced that his own child hates his guts. and for what? he’d taken care of him and was helping raise him! he wants answers!!

✧ you know how frustrated he must be with himself, so, after the baby’s calmed down again, you place him back in nanami’s arms n start cooing sweetly to him in the hopes he chills out

✧ there’s this long moment of tension during which nanami waits for the baby to start crying again since he’s got this look of uncertainty in his lil eyes like he’s just as confused as nanami is

✧ but thankfully, he reaches up to place his lil hand on nanami’s nose and open his mouth in awe (nanami’s wondering what’s so curious abt his nose). In response, he presses a couple kisses against his son’s cheek that make him smile, and suddenly all is well. baby is content and no longer crying, nanami is happy, mission accomplished!!

✧ “see? you have nothing to worry about, baby,” you reassure him and peck his cheek, “he was just being a bit picky. he loves you very much, I’m sure.”

✧ he pulls you closer for a kiss and gently places your newborn back in his crib when he finally drifts back off to sleep before crawling back into bed with you, wrapping his arms around you, and goin on a lil rant abt how much he loves you and your son until you tell him he needs sleep bc he’s borderline delirious

✧ fatherhood is definitely a bit of an alien concept to him, that’s for sure. but, since you gave birth, the two of you have been learning a lot together

✧ at first, he was a bit slow to get up and tend to your child in the middle of the night since he wasn’t sure what to do, but he learned to figure it out bc he absolutely did not want his sweet lil wife to be overworked. now, he’s up rather quickly to make sure one of his fav gals is taken care of

✧ he does what he’s been taught to do and checks for any obvious reasons as to why his newborn is so disgruntled that she’s wailing after he lifts her out of the crib. however, when he can’t find an apparent reason, that’s when he starts gettin a lil frustrated with himself. he’s a dad!! he should be able to figure out what’s upsetting his lil girl!! he thinks

✧ the lack of sleep isn’t really helping his thought process either, so he resorts to holding the baby in his arms and cooing and singing to try to calm her down. but ends up mumbling little complaints like, “I know my singing’s not great but really, baby girl?” or trying to reassure her (but more himself) by saying, “don’t worry, your dad’s got this. he’s gonna figure it out. right? right?”

✧ by the time you enter the room, he’s damn near had a breakdown bc he absolutely does not want his sweet lil girl to grow up hating his guts and he wants to be the best dad ever (so he can brag about his family goals to everyone n be like yeah suckers I really do have it all haha)

✧ but you come with his saving grace and the one thing he’d forgotten in his exhaustion: a bottle of milk. he tries to hand the baby over to you, but you give him the bottle instead and drape a burp cloth over his shoulder so he can do it on his own in the name of bonding

✧ once he starts feeding your newborn, the crying comes to an end, and she instead gazes up at naoya with wide, delighted eyes while she sips. he breathes out a deep sigh of relief when he moves her to his shoulder and rubs her back for a bit

✧ since you know he was definitely stressing before you intervened, you give him some comforting words n kisses. “she was just a little hungry, babe. you’re doing a great job and I’m sure she appreciates it. I know I do”

✧ to this he gives you a peck on the forehead before doing the same with your baby once she’s all content and ready to doze off again, and the two of you snuggle while waiting for her to settle

✧ during this time, he ends up falling asleep too and you admire the sight of both of them snoozin together before putting your daughter back in her crib and leading naoya back to bed, where he murmurs sweet nothings into the crown of your head until both of you knock out for what you hope is the rest of the night

of course, sakusa likes to keep all the surfaces as clean as possible. like if he sees anyone leave a mess after cooking/eating, he’s knocking on the door

the one place he will not tackle alone is the bathroom. you have to help him in this endeavor (tho he always appreciates your help)

you and sakusa often spend evenings sitting together on the couch, folding laundry so you can make sure atsumu doesn’t burn the house down while cooking

atsumu really isn't that great at domestic things but plop a sponge and a dirty plate in his hand, throw on some tunes, and you can vibe while you wash dishes together

to make sure everyone’s held accountable, y’all have a schedule of who does what on certain days (ex: take out the trash, clean the surfaces, do dishes, etc)

atsumu often tries to avoid his responsibilities, so you and sakusa leave cleaning supplies outside his door as a reminder that he can’t escape

in exchange for sometimes being difficult, atsumu brings home treats/food from samu’s restaurant or the corner store every now and then

grocery shopping is the one thing you can always rely on him for but just know he’ll bring home like ten things that were definitely not on the list (the dude would bring home a stray dog too if he crossed paths with one n he thought it was cute. he gets too distracted lol)

late night target/supermarket runs happen so often. you’re leading the group down the aisles, atsumu’s pushing the cart so he can glide on it, and sakusa’s in his hoodie and sweats just shuffling along like a lil old man. poor guy would rather be in bed but he always gets roped into things like this haha

if you’re up late doing homework and fall asleep at the table in the living room, atsumu will plug in your laptop to make sure it charges and drape a blanket over your shoulders. 

sakusa will clean up for you and wake you up so you can go to sleep in your bed instead. he doesn’t want you to be sore from sleeping in a weird position all night
