so he’s like looking you and your group up to see if it’s really you (it is)

and he’s like damn i gotta get in contact with her again

but he doesn’t have an opportunity because even from a friends standpoint, he didn’t really have time because he had to focus on training and eventually going through i-land

ok skip forward and he’s debuted yay!!!!!

so you had a promotion period that’d lined up around a year and a half later where you made a duo debut with your member shuhua while enha was promoting manifesto

and heeseung saw you backstage once

between him seeing you for the first time up until that point he’d literally been trying to find out how to talk to you again

and this was his opportunity!

so before you went to perform heeseung approached you randomly

and lowkey you’d forgotten about heeseung until you saw him again lol

and you’re like oh hey… so awkward because what do you genuinely say to someone you haven’t talked to in like four years

but when you remember that he’s the heeseung that you talked to during your trainee days (the same heeseung you had a thing for) you are more willing to talk to him

but then your conversation is cut short because you have to go perform your song

when you come back, he’s still waiting for you :((((

like that man is COMMITTED to getting to talk to you again

so then after like thirty minutes of talking (right before he has to go promote his song) he finally gets the courage to ask for your number

so he texts you like every day

and during your overlapping promotions, he tries to meet up with you backstage as frequently as possible

so eventually you gain feelings for him again (and he obviously does for you) and you start hanging out

but then he goes on tour for a while

you miss him a lot

and he misses you a lot

so when he comes back, he impulsively like picked you up while hugging and you’re like um okay MARRY ME

one hangout he finally asks you out (as more than friends) and you’re so excited

so you quickly begin dating :)

dating him is definitely like dating your number one supporter

like he makes it a point to meet you backstage (even if you don’t have an overlapping promotion) and he makes you teach him your choreography

so you debuted before him

by like a year and a half, so like january 2019

you were one of the members of itzy, which was the talk of the town for quite some time

and jay was actually a huge fan of your group since he was a trainee

your group had a few hit songs in korea but jay made it seem like every song of yours (yes this includes b sides)

you’d been his bias since your teaser dropped ofc

and he made it everyone’s problem to listen to your music during practice

even during i-land there were clips of him doing the shoulder move from ‘wannabe’

but i digress

so once his debut place is secured as of i-land episode 12 he was so excited that he might have the opportunity of meeting you

but like. he had to be normal about it

so he freaked out about you respectfully

but “respectfully” to him was mentioning you as his role model and ideal type

on like every variety program possible

like damn we get it!!!!

but your and his companies thought it would be just so silly and funny if they brought you out to meet him the next time he mentioned you

and so they did exactly that!!!

he was on weekly idol and all of a sudden you came out from where the staff were filming

he actually almost fainted on the spot

and you thought it was sooo cute that he was that flattered over meeting you

so you approached him and asked him for his number

cue him almost passing out pt 2

but you end up talking quite a bit

like u come visit him quite often and he comes to visit you

and he like is literally like the perfect talking stage

and you had absolutely no idea why he would be

you thought that maybe it was because you’d also come in first place on your respective survival show, so maybe he had one sided beef with you?

actually ☝️🤓 jungwon had a big fat crush on you

and had no idea what to do about it

like he secretly supported you on r u next? and everything

so eventually, belift decides to make a variety show for illit and enha

as the first place winners, you two are paired together, along with your japanese maknaes, ni-ki and iroha

iroha and ni-ki were already acquainted, so iroha told ni-ki about how funny it was that you and jungwon were in the same group, given that jungwon hated you

so you’d been in the industry a few years longer than enhypen had

so riki knew of you, but you weren’t super familiar with them

but the both of you were invited onto a variety program for foreign idols

you ended up becoming more familiar with them after being paired together with riki for a couple challenges

one interaction you had made you two go completely viral after executing a twice choreography together extremely well

both bbc and belift saw this as an opportunity to make some money, so they kinda forced you and riki to get close

little did they know that’s what you both wanted anyways lol

so like you’ll have a live with him

or you’ll film a tiktok together

or you’ll post something together

somewhere along the lines you two start dating in secret

namely after you two filmed a live together

so when you terminate your contract with bbc for the mistreatment, engenes beg you to audition for hybe/belift because they’re afraid if you go somewhere else you won’t be able to interact freely with him anymore and they love your interactions

you end up joining ctd, which is the company of one of the post-loona acts, along with five of your ex-members

luckily ctd is a good company so they let you and riki still stay together and still have your lives

one time riki was doing a weverse live and you showed up

and fans absolutely LOVED it

ctd is an unknown company so they unexpectedly got a lot more sales with this relationship

I love the winter weather, so the two of us can get together

“I don’t know, min. I’ve never ice-skated before.”

He wanted to take you out on a date. A date to the local ice skating rink at that, and you were nervous.

Why were you nervous? Well you had never done it before, and Minho was practically a pro.

He had done a lot of ice skating back in Gimpo, never forgetting how to do it as he aged and practiced being an idol.

It was something he never wanted to forget, the feeling of gliding along the ice bringing him back to the beautiful nostalgia he felt when he thought of home.

He wanted to take you with him, have you experience one of the best and most important past times he has because he loves you, and what better way to let you into his heart than this.

“I can teach you then, jagi.” He assures, hands taking a hold of yours as he tries to convince you, eyes burrowing into yours. “I want to show you this something that means so much to me.”

He knows just how to convince you, his words lights hitting you right in the gut and making you feel like the most special girl in the world.

“Ok, min. I’ll take your word for it.” You smile, his face mirroring yours, hand moving to the small of your back. “You just better not let me fall.”

Minho snickers, mouth curling up into that mischievous smirk you love so much. “No promises.”

You pout slightly, head moving away from the warm crook of his neck and he giggles some more. “Okay sorry, sorry. I’ll make sure to catch you, jagi.”

“Mhm.” You groan, still pouting. “You better.”

“Need me to kiss that pout away?” He asked teasingly, moving his hand further down, making you blush.

“Please do.”

“Min, baby? Can you help me put these on?” You ask him, looking up from him where you had been sitting on the bench.

The ice skating rink was near empty, thank god. Only a few couples too sucked into their own world and a mom with her small child, so she was definitely too busy to worry about seeing an idol out with a random girl.

You never liked having to hide your relationship with Minho. You wish you could just show him off in front of the world for everyone to see. Show how you’ve got the most handsome man in the world wrapped around your finger. His idol life doesn’t let that happen, however.

It’s peaceful though, not having to worry about dating rumors as the rink is filled with hushed whispers and a slight, below thirty degree breeze. It’s a lovely day, you wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Mhm. Of course, honey.” He responds, kneeling at your feet to slip the first shoe on. Your face heats up and how domestic it feels. It makes the promise ring that lays on your ring finger feel like one of marriage.

“Okay.” He says, finishing tying up your shoes with a tiny bow. “I’m going to put the blade on now. After this, hold on to me until we get on the ice.”

You listen carefully to his instructions, stomach starting to bubble with nerves as he carefully slides the blades into their slots.

He stands up, putting on his shoes and blades with ease. “Grab my hand.” and he’s reaching his soft and surprisingly warm hand towards you for you to grab a hold of.

You take his palm into yours, anixety immediately dissolved into nothing as he helped you off the bench, foot touching the ice.

It’s slippery, different from anything you’ve ever felt. You slip for a second, tripping like a new born fawn, but he catches you.

“Woah, Baby.” He chuckles, cheeks red from the frigid, bitter air. “We’re gonna go slow okay.”

He starts to teach you how to glide first, handing holding onto your hips to keep you steady as you practice taking slow strides along the ice.

It’s hard, and you’re wobbling at first, trying to learn how to balance on the slim, metal blade. It takes a while before you’re able to start gliding without wobbling around nearly as much.

“Good job, jagi. I’m going to let go now, okay?” You nod at his words, filled with confidence that you can glide without his help.

He lets go, pushing you ever so slightly to give you the momentum needed to push away.

To your amazement, you start gliding along the ice with skill, able to push off with the ball of your foot and keep the energy needed to keep flowing alongst the ice.

You feel like you understand why Minho loves to ice skate so much. You feel weightless as you drift along the ice. It’s not perfect; you are still just a beginner, but it’s peaceful.

You’re able to do a full circle around the rink before passing Minho again, who was standing still on the ice. You wonder why he wasn’t following you, surely he would want to catch up, right?

When you turn back to inquire, you get a good look into his eyes, but what they say? You have no idea.

Amazement? Admiration? Pride? You have no idea, but to say he looks starstruck would be an understatement.

You slowly make your way over to him, searching his eyes for more answers. “Everything okay, Min?”

He seems to break out of his trance, looking at you with fond and warm eyes before taking your hand into his, giving it a tight squeeze.

“Everything is fine, kitten. Let’s go around some, hmm?” And you graciously accept, locking your arm with his and beginning to skate once again. You’ll question him about the staring later.

It takes you a while to get used to his pace, but you can tell he’s slowing him self down to match your level of expertise. It’s faster though, more calculate and precise. “You go so fast.”

“You think so?” He giggles, looking back at you instead of ahead of him. “Yeah, I can barely keep u-“

You’re cut off by your body suddenly falling towards the ice, bottom half hitting the ground with force, causing Minho to gasp slightly.

“A-are you okay, j-jagi?” He says between labored breaths, laughing out that mischievous laugh of his. He still reaches his hand out towards you for you to grab, which you do.

“I think I’ve officially fucked up my tailbone.” You groan, grabbing ahold of your hip where you had hit. “Awe baby…need me to massage it for you?”

Instinctively, his hands reach for your ass, Minho smiling almost evilly before you swat his hand away.

“I didn’t even hit my ass you perv!” And he just laughs some more, giving you a chaste kiss on the lips. “Wanna go around some more before we go? I’ll get you some coffee on the way back.”

You nod in agreement, taking his hand as you do a couple more laps around, talking about everything and nothing at the same time.

Nothing mattering accept for each other.

“This fireplace and coffee is positivity the only reason I’m alive now.” You say, snuggling into his side from where you both sit on the floor, thin blanket wrapped around the two of you, practically forming a cocoon as you beg for warmth.

“You’re welcome, jagi.” He winks, always so smug. It reminds you of when he was staring at your earlier on the rink, looking at you with eyes you couldn’t quite dissect.

“Hey, baby?” And he hums in response. “Why were you looking at me like that when we were skating. Y’know when I was going by myself after you taught me? I’m curious.“

He heats up in the cheeks and tips of ears at your question, visually sputtering as he looks for a response.

“Oh, uh. It’s seeing you enjoy something I enjoy so much. Makes me wanna marry you.” He sounds rather confident for someone who’s turning redder than a tomato at his own admission, but you can’t talk much; it’s making you blush too.

“Wasn’t expecting that answer.” you giggle, still a tad bit shocked you couldn’t get that out of him. “What? I don’t show my love well enough to show I want to marry you everyday?”

He’s teasing, and it’s working. It has the heat crawling from your neck to your cheeks once again. “Of course you do. I just like hearing you vocalize it. Love you, Minho.”

He softens, gazing into your eyes before pressing a soft, domestic kiss to your lips.

The fire place, blanket, coffee, they’re all doing what they can to make you feel warm when battling the below freezing temperatures.

But nothing, absolutely nothing makes you feel as warm inside as Minhos love.

Not even close.

The line in the Telemachus verse of Hold Them Down where Antinous sings “Hold him down while I slowly break his pride, his trust, his faith, and his bones” sounds a lot like he’s threatening to rape Telemachus before killing him, inside his father’s palace and (unknowingly) in front of his father no less. This could maybe be an allusion to how some versions of the Illiad say that Achilles raped (or at least attempted to) Apollo’s kind of-son Troilus in Apollo’s own temple, which put Achilles at the very top of Apollo’s shit list. This might have been part of why past that point Antinous was so doomed it seemed like even the gods had it out for him and maybe why the suitors were spared no light or viability in the palace because the illiad established that (even threatening )act as something that would earn Apollo’s ire. Presumably this might’ve been what made Apollo forgive Odysseus for his crew having eaten his cow because he was like “nah man I get it, go tear their asses to shreds #sponsored” therefore negating Epic! Odysseus’ need to go appease Apollo and letting him spend the rest of his years happily with his family.

I think this is a really interesting interpretation! I don't know much mythology outside of Epic but you've definitely made me want to go read up on that. (Damn fuck Achilles tho fr).

I think it is interesting how some animatics have chosen to portray Telemachus' murder scene which somewhat aligns with what you've mentioned. Most visuals include Antinous with his hand over Tele's mouth, pinning him down and other things commonly associated with the visual of sexual violence.

And then in the song Odysseus the way Telemachus says the line "Get off me!" also (to me at least) once again evokes the idea of sexual violence. Begging someone to get off of them.

One "Hold them Down" animatic that I thought was really interesting was an animatic where there's a visual of a flower wilting (representing Telemachus' innocence being deflowered). And there was another one where Antinous carved an A into his cheek before licking his tears/the wound.

Antinous in the musical is sexually violent throughout the musical and I think it's an interesting choice in animatics when they choose to have that aspect spill over in the Telemachus verse of the song.

I think there's an interesting parallel to toy with the Apollo idea too.

(SPOILER WARNING to people who haven't read your story) I SWEAR to GOD!!!! This is borderline anon-hate with my current state of mind after finishing The Raven and The Snake over this weekend. I finished it in two days. I'm a mess. I've even started making a playlist because I feel like I can't properly enter reality again. I loved it so so so much, and I am very mad I cannot have a collectors edition hardback version of it on my shelf. There are many many moments that keep replaying in my head, and scenes that I saw so vividly when reading through it. The first imperio moment and Sebs shadow and imperio-green eyes as Clora was held captive, and the entire scene in the repository and how I was physically shaking as I slowly realised that Seb had made a fucking horcrux, and when it was CONFIRMED the GASP i GUSPED. It was so perfect, and so very Sebastian; because OF COURSE he made a horcrux (lowkey hot, sue me).

And the scene where Clive realised Seb straight up just died for his daughter without knowing he would be back, oh my dear lord.

And the idea of Seb being seen as a 'Ruffian' and that little mamas boi bitch of a Henry thinking his hand-me-down-riches, muggle ass would be preferable to a powerful wizard. I secretly wished they didn't have to keep magic a secret so Henry could have known just how inferior he was. AND SEB APPARATING SO FAR UMPH the skilllll.

I could go on and on and on, and maybe I will some other time in your inbox when I have another mental breakdown.

And now I'm also almost done with the small sequel. Just taking a break to bombard you with this unhinged message of mine. And how you draw Sebastian is so fucking good. It's actually what got me reading in the first place. SO! here are some things that made them realize they liked the other person:

whenever her phone rang or buzzed, her first thought always went to nico and hoping that he was the reason behind her notifs

when jack would come over to her apartment and she'd catch herself being disappointed when nico didn't come with him

when theyre out one night with the rest of the team and the boys keep urging him to go talk to this girl who's staring at him but he refuses because "why would i leave blake to talk to these idiots without me"

when hes hanging out with friends and blake calls and so he's immediately excusing himself from the room so he can hear her properly

he remembers all the little things like her coffee orders, favourite songs, snacks, etc... all saved into his notes app "just in case she needs something"

when jack comes over to nicos apartment to hang out and nico distractedly asked where blake was... (gagged jack bad)

nico watching a whole season of a tv show on a plane ride just because blake mentioned that she liked it
