Using your own footage. While everything regarding photoshop can be applied to nearly all media, apart from long form videos(5+mins) and videos not in mp4 format; I am still focusing on walking you through making your own footage look as nice as possible.

Needed:

A game and potentially mods for said game

Camera tools for various games (optional)

OBS

Photoshop

My gif making actions so you too can be fast

This tutorial simply opens your recorded footage in photoshop, no other screen cap software is required. Lets fucking go!

[Part 2]

INTRO: From Skyrim to Destiny, recording your own footage of various games is the best method of making your own gifs.

The reason for this is myriad; 

+ less artifacting vs YT vids, as seen below

+ you’ll have more control over the content + you can have personal characters + you can alter the settings of the game to be better for gif making purposes

While this tutorial does walk you through most of the steps it is light on exactly/why I use various adjustment layers for coloring, mostly because tumblr began to block my images/links. Other folks have tutorials but I can make one if its something people want.

But the real purpose of this tutorial is to cut the time it take to make gifs down by just opening your file vs. screencaping and so on.

1. Select your game and edit game settings for gif making.

Because we are using OBS, and recording the screen and not the game itself(more on this later), what game you are playing matters little. 

Other paid programs like FRAPS still work, as do some free programs like Afterburner/RivaTuner, but when it comes to multiplayer, some may be caught by various anti-cheats and shut down. (ESO will not launch if afterburn is already open, for example). OBS has simply been my go to for around seven years.

Settings.

Please feel free to play around with your game settings to find what works, you may even play a game on different settings from what you record footage under. I do not play with DOF settings on in games but do record with them on.

Dropping your screen-size from and being able to turn on ultra vs medium settings may make your gifs look much better as another example. 

+ At least 30FPS, try to avoid stuttering, lower the settings if needed. + Avoid crushing of blacks or blown out whites, especially when giffing POC! Adjust brightness and gamma as needed, HDR isn't your friend here. + While dark nights maybe more realistic and challenging for you, it often produces a dark gif in which nothing can be seen. + Turn off motion blur and film grain, these both add needless file size and look off when scaled down in photoshop. If you want grain add some after. + 720p is about as low for footage as you want to go unless making gifs for very old games. Work with what you have with old games. + Using mods and things like reshade can make your game shine.

Example time; ENB only on top, heavily modded on bottom, no adjustments were made in photoshop.

Modding can really alter a game. 

Skyrim is very famous for it, but everything from Mass Effect to Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous have visual mods! They can make your footage stand out immensely, they can make your FPS drop, or even make it better. 

Please be respectful of mod authors. As someone who made them in the past, we are not content farms, we are just folks with a fun hobby like gif making!

I highly suggest any mod that removes screen blur, vignette and film grain!

2. Camera Tools (optional)

So you have your game, now it's time to learn what camera tools exist, if any, for your game. Many games like Rogue Trader and Dragon Age, have free camera mods. Some games like Bethesda games and some Mass Effects, have built in, or partially built in fly cams.

I used to back in the day before DA:O had camera tools back myself into a corner and swing the over-the-shoulder camera around to get gifs, so you have to work with what you have.

If you want to go the paid route there are plenty of camera mods available from assassin’s creed games to BG3. These are generally of better quality and work smoothly, but check around for reviews before you dish out your hard earned money!

Each of these tools will have different commands that you will have to learn. 

3. Obtain OBS & set it up

Why OBS?

It's free, it uses very little of your computer's resources. OBS also allows you to switch between screen recording, what I always use, and recording a specific program. Many other recording programs will not record some very old games, some can't record specific games.

Add to that, some hardware recording software will not record shadows or can get light values wrong and you are fighting a battle game after game. So I just go for what's free and works consistently.

I've only known one person for whom OBS failed to work, and that I think was a version issue. 

Install OBS, and then make a specific scene all the way on the left;

You can rename this or duplicate it if you also intend to stream(right clicking scene will bring up the menu to do so), I don't use OBS when streaming so I leave this as is.

Right click on the source and ensure it is set as Display Capture. Because some, especially older games, won't work with Game Capture you are going to record the screen. Double click Display Capture if you have multiple screens(I have 2) and select which you want to record!

Next we need to go into settings, over there on the right under Controls. Once in settings, go down to Video and keep the base and output values whatever your actual display size is. I have a 1440 display so it's set to 1440, if you are running 720 make sure it's 720 and so forth.

Ensure 30fps is chosen. Anything more is overkill, for both photoshop and your rig!

Next go to Hotkeys. This will be different if you are using OBS to stream as well, but because I am not, I cleared everything but the recording hotkeys and I assigned them to scroll lock. This is because I've yet to encounter any game or mod that uses the key for anything. Use what makes sense for you, however.

Finally make your way to Output, this is important. Ignore streaming, look at Recording.

+ Pick a folder you want to save in + pick indistinguishable quality, large file size. + Pick MP4+ which encoder you use is up to your system! This is the one that made sense for me and my system. There are tons of videos on YT that go over each encoder. Also here https://obsproject.com/kb/audio-video-formats-guide is the official guide. We need to be able to open the file in photoshop so I tend to lean toward H.264.

3. Test OBS and your game footage together!

Go into your game, record a menu!

If you see something weird here, like your game footage not actually recording, troubleshoot!

With your recording you shouldn't see any stretching.

Now go into game and for 3-5 seconds record you playing, if something isn't recording well, again, troubleshoot. OBS takes a small amount of resources but for older rigs you may need to adjust settings in either game or OBS to get better recordings.

Once you are comfortable, it's time to go wild!

4. Record your gif footage.

+ 5 second clips are best for scenery gifs, + anything from 2-10 seconds can be used for a character talking + anything more than 10 seconds? You'll hit tumblr's limits instantly and will need to make multiple gifs. Which isn't a big deal, but do make note of it as it is much harder for older rigs to open a 5 min 1440p recording than 10 seconds. Depending on the rig it may not even open, so try and make several recordings rather than one long one.

5. Photoshop set up if you pirated an older version

If your gifs look weirdly stretched, check pixel ratio! If your photoshop is legit, or you know that it isn't stretching your gifs wildly you can skip this step.

I don't care how you obtain photoshop, but photoshop has had the ability to open MP4 videos for nearly 15 years. You do not need to, and I do not encourage you to use any screencapping software. That's great for long-form videos, but my computer 12 years ago could open a 5min music video fine and it was a potato.

Often photoshop 'portable' aka pirated photoshop comes with some wild settings, namely, pixel ratio changes. Please check this first;

And look at what default is actually set at, if your gifs always look stretched oddly when uploaded to tumblr.

It should be 1:1.

Then look at,

Again set it to square! Newer photoshop, and non-pirated versions often will let you look at other aspect ratios but won't save weirdly. so 2:1 will still save to 1:1, this hasn’t always been the case with cracked photoshop, especially the version from around 2014.

6. Open

Either drag in all your videos, or just... file → open.

This is why you saved as 5 seconds and MP4, so you didn't need any extra steps!

++Please be aware that older/weaker rigs and laptops can struggle, and if you are seeing crazy hot temps and such its an issue. Seeing Photoshop pause to open/play an action is normal but not chugging. I tell you this so you remember to dust your case and give your hardware some love, fiddle with settings and if this straight up doesn't work with your version of photoshop it might not be for you.

7. Crop your videos

Once you have your video/s open, select the crop tool. (it should be right here in the default setup. or Simply press C on newer Photoshops)

Step 1-  in the far left box you want to select Width by Height and then type what size you want to crop to. Height Matters little but Width does matter.

Here are tumblr’s current 2024 sizes again!

10mb is the max, anything more will have a new compression algorithm applied to make it under 10mb.

Please look at the sizes closely. I'll give you an example! Lets say you make your widest gif 1000 pixels, a common wrong size.

I could only fit 20 frames in this bad boy, and its squished, despite the saving compression used, tumblr eats the quality to make it pixelated/artifact-filled.

Compare that to this, 66frames

Slightly different cropping but you get the point.

Same thing with using 540px in the 268px spot.

Compare it to the gifs below which is a 4.83mb 133 frame image in the 268 spot. see how it's less pixelated?

Now back to that Image. Lets talk about... Step 2. Select a range from within the image, try to avoid going to the edges, otherwise you get a 1 pixel wide transparent line. It's hard to see on some blogs, and so obvious on others. Mobile users won't likely see it, but it does take a slight amount more file size as well.

This is what I mean.

Step 3. Time is money, friend. And by this I mean I am going to provide you with the means to skip a TON of steps in the gif making process and just use my action, I'm even going to help you figure out how to fix it when it fails. For the low price of free. If you want the how to, I can break down what all the action is doing, but I haven't even thought about these steps in about 8 years or so.

And Ralts is INTENTIONALLY weak to compensate for how strong it is fully evolved. Modding in a Ralts WILL affect your gameplay because the games aren't built for that.

Speaking as someone who has played every Gen of Pokemon...as well as playing a few games with Pokemon's older, edgy brother SMT- You are making mountains out of mole hills Lily.

Games, especially RPGs given how they don't tend to be very interactive games, tell stories to stimulate the player's brain. This requires time, Lily. I know that you like being lulled into a silent stupor as evidenced by your love of Team Aqua/Magma and later Lysandre (No I am not joking) but most ACTUAL people like having some kind of engagement with the game. Pokemon, even at it's most verbose, is fucking SMALL POTATOES compared to your usual JRPG.

I brought up SMT for a reason Lily- that series compensates for having a less engaging battle system than Pokemon's by having a more robust story. If you played any SMT, even one like Nocturne- your brain would likely shut down.

JRPGs like having stories. You signed up for this with Pokemon. Now judge it accordingly.

No they don't. They gas TEAM GALACTIC as one of the best villains because they fuck with the fundamental forces of existence, giving them an air of a series threat. I don't agree, I like Cyrus for being the only one with a reason for doing what he's doing. But people usually like him for the stuff OUTSIDE his home game.

Lily, the reason why the game won't let you skip the Bike is because you NEED it to progress the game and it gives you an improved movement option. It also won't let you skip the Egg tutorial because Pokemon breeding is necessary for getting certain Pokemon or helping you get certain Pokemon (like multiple starters). And this is why you can't skip the catching tutorial: you'd just be throwing Pokeballs at random and failing constantly.

These are necessary aspects of the game. A game for kids who may have never played a Pokemon game before. Deal with it.

So you talk about the story being ass...while acknowledging that you aren't paying attention to said story...

Like, I know that Lily is implying she's long since gone through the game and experienced the story, hates it and is now skipping over it but you are now making a retrospective of the games. Now would be a good time to pay attention and possible reconsider your stance.

So what you're saying is that we should have random required HMs in Pokemon Gyms to challenge them properly? You know, like Chuck's Gym? That you couldn't complete without backtracking?

Or that maybe we should have moves like Cut, Rock Smash, Flash, Whirlpool and Defog (which you basically call useless) be necessary! After all, who cares about player expression? It's just 20.8% of your moveslots!

Perhaps pay attention to the fucking dialogue, Lily. Because these are pretty blunt and obvious examples. Cyrus appeals to people feeling that the world is harsh and unfair, promising them a bright tomorrow if they listen to him. Then he explains how he believes emotions have caused these problems so he wishes to erase them.

"Oh really Looker? You think I'm so dumb that-"

Lily, you just got done humiliating yourself by being outsmarted by a children's game and will continue that streak throughout this video.

Yes, you are that dumb.

Lily, those guys were not intended on being stupid. They were intended to be well intentioned extremists. They seem stupid because the games made their acts so dumb that the intentions are overshadowed by their stupidity.

Cyrus does more than try to be evil, you can tell from comparing his dialogue to Giovanni's-

"Blast it all! You ruined our plans for Silph! But Team Rocket will never fall! <Player>, never forget that all Pokémon exist for Team Rocket! I must go, but I shall return!"

And his so-called 'stilted' dialogue would probably fit a man who is OPENLY TRYING TO RID THE WORLD OF EMOTION. If your assessment is correct- that would be good writing.

Archie and Maxie are badly written. You are praising bad writing over good writing.

Making Gifs Part 1 - Capturing Video

I am making this for @errruvande but I thought maybe others could use this guide to. This is my own personal workflow on how I make my gifs. Everyone has their own way of doing it, and there is no right or wrong way, but I have found this works best for me, with my limited tools and since I do not have photoshop.

Please note I am not an expert lol! There are people out there making far better gifs than me, and many other gifmaking resouces on Tumblr that are probably better than mine.

So there are two ways that I have found that work for capturing video. If you have the discs like I do, using a program like Videobyte BD-DVD Ripper works really well to grab video clips from Blu-Rays and DVD's. I recommend only using Blu-Rays if you have them. since DVD's are much lower quality.

However I have noticed the videos I captured with this program tend to be dark and have some compression artifacts, even when rip to an MKV with high quality settings. So I use a different method which I feel produces higher quality video captures.

I use Windows Screen Recorder (I have Win11 but this will work for all versions of Windows) with the quality settings set to High. In order to do this, go to Settings > Gaming > Captures and set the following:

Make sure the Video Quality is set to High, set your Screenshots folder, turn off Audio (you don't need it), and keep the frame rate to 30 fps.

For Windows 11 press WIN + ALT + R to activate the screen recorder. There is usually a bit of a delay so make sure you start a few seconds before the scene you want to capture. And try to keep the length of the capture below about 90 seconds; the shorter the better.

Capturing Sequential Caps

So, for those of you with Photoshop, you can import your video directly into the program and make your gif from there. But I found that Photopea really does not like videos, and will stall and crash if I load a video directly. So I have to capture sequential screencaps to make my gifs.

I use VLC Media Player. There are a few others out there that take sequential caps, but I have not been able to get them to work myself.

Download and install the latest version. Then go to your settings to set up the Sequential Caps function. They have a great guide on their website here but I will reiterate it in this post.

Go To Tools > Preferences and then at the bottom of the screen select the All radio button to show all settings.

Select Video from the left menu. Scroll down about halfway until you see the Snapshot section. Choose the folder where you want the caps to go.

3. Then, under Video on the left, expand the Filters list.

4. Check the "Scene Video Filter" from the list.

5. Then scroll down on the left menu under Filters and click on Scene Filter. This will open up the settings for that particular filter.

6. Set the Image Format to PNG.

7. Then for the Recording Ratio, change to "1". The Recording Ratio is the frame interval. So for example, if it was set to "300" (with a 30fps video), then it would take one cap every 10 seconds. Setting it to "1" will make it take a cap once per frame.

8. None of the other settings need to be changed.

9. One more important setting, otherwise this will not work! Close the menu, and go back to Tools > Settings and leave it on Simple. Go to the Video section and MAKE SURE the output is set to "Automatic". This is important because if it is not on Automatic the Scene Filter won't work!

Then just open your video with VLC. VLC will automatically take the screencaps while the video is playing. If you pause the video, it will stop taking caps.

NOTE: For smoother gifs, change your playback speed to be slower. Go to the top menu > Playback > Speed > Slower (fine). The more you click this the slower the video will playback, and that means more caps will be taken over that time frame. I usually set it to 0.75x, but if you want even smoother gifs for really short clips, you can set it even slower than that.

Scottish Rugby Player Doddie Weir was born on July 4th in Edinburgh.

Born George Wilson Weir, Doddie was educated at Daniel Stewart’s and Melville College and given the school’s heritage with the sport, and Doddie’s size, it was only natural he would take up the rugby.

After his education finished he played for Stewart’s Melville FP, the FP stands for former pupil, he then went on to play for Melrose in the Scottish Borders, and was part of the team that won six Scottish club championships.

He was brought uup on Cortleferry Farm, near the village of Stow in the Scottish Borders. horses were a big part of his early life and he competed at local gymkhanas along with his sister Kirsty. Later he went on to represent Scotland at national equestrian events. Once, at the Scottish Horse Trials, he competed against Princess Anne.

As his rugby career progressed he moved to England in 1995 to join the Newcastle Falcons, helping them win the Premiership in 1998.

Lock Weir was capped 61 times by Scotland, and was part of the victorious Lions tour to South Africa in 1997.

He moved back to Scotland to join the newly reformed Borders team in 2002 where he remained until his retirement from professional rugby. He finished his playing career together with Gary Armstrong at Borders Reivers in 2004.

In 2016 Doddie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2016 and made his diagnosis public the following summer. Although the average life expectancy is between one and three years, he has defied the odds to keep battling and his charity, the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, has raised more than £4million for research into a cure. Doddie was also told that a year later he would not be able to walk, he defied what the doctors said still walked in up to the final months of his life a testament to the determination and fighting spirit of this remarkable man.

A big favourite with the Murrayfield crowd, the 6ft 6in lock was famously described by the late commentator Bill McLaren as as being “on the charge like a mad giraffe”.

Doddie spoke of his MND

“As a bloke you just think ‘I’m fine’, but with this that’s not quite the case. Basically it’s a muscle wasting disease and that’s how in the later life of MND it’s horrific because you need help everywhere.

"Basically your muscles in your legs disappear so you can’t walk; you can’t really eat, and then your muscles within your speech disappear so you can’t speak; you can’t swallow and can’t breath so it’s horrific what happens.

”….“But it’s such a debilitating condition and there’s nothing out there that can help any patient with MND.

He has signed a “Do not resuscitate” (DNR) IN 2020.

In February 2020 Doddie said his decision to refuse potentially lifesaving CPR came after a tough chat with his sons Hamish, Angus, and Ben, "I’ve had to talk to them about DNR. We’ve just signed a document for that at the moment, which isn’t easy.”

He added: “You just have to be honest and open and they took it really well.”

Weir set up a charity called My Name's Doddie Foundation to help fund treatments for motor neurone disease.

In 2018 The Doddie Weir Cup was inaugurated, a perputual Rugby Union trophy to be played between Scotland and Wales, the first match in Cardiff in November that year was won by Wales, Scotland are the current holders.

Neither the Welsh Rugby Union nor the Scottish Rugby Union originally intended to contribute any of the gate receipts from the inaugural match to the charity, but pressure from fans and in the media resulted in them eventually donating a six-figure sum

On the evening of 26 November 2022, his family announced that he had died of motor neuron disease, aged 52. A memorial service was held at Melrose Parish Church on 19 December, with audio from the service relayed to Melrose RFC's ground The Greenyards.

Clinical trials into motor neurone disease (MND) have received a £500,000 boost from the My Name's Doddie Foundation to mark what would have been his 54th birthday.

YAAAAAAYYYYYY GIGANTIC I played that ages ago when it was on some other platform how's it holding up? Are you having fun? The steam reviews mention server and matchmaking issues which are the only things stopping me from getting it again

ive been having a lot of fun! and yes there are still issues but most of them are fixed and are still being fixed. i can only say the devs are doing a great job at fixing things tho i do wanna list the problems i bumped into:

at launch, i keep getting authentication errors for days. i only finally caved into doing a fix which was using a vpn. this only required using the vpn once and after that i was able to get in w/o it

during night (lunch time for me), when player counts going down, i couldnt get into matches bc of the infinite requeue bug. its fixed now and have no problem joining games any time of the day

if someone leaves mid game, a bot will replace them. theres a high chance this bot will have: no faction (will fight anyone), have infinite health. devs are looking into this. for now the best way to deal with them is either bait them into the enemy's side of the map or throw them off the map (easier with heaven's ward and picaro bay)

60 fps cap. i dont mind this as im used to lower frame rates. trying to uncap it will cause desyncing issues with other players. i heard if you go 300 fps itll just crash the match for everyone

theres a bunch of other bugs concerning badges, fortunes, titles, grading, etc but the priority rn is fixing gameplay/server issues

queue times for me go from 5 seconds to 4 mins but for some it goes above 10 mins. if it does go above 4 mins for me i either just restart the queue or the game and check if i have crossplay off (should be on)

when queueing with friends and yall finally get in a match, its best to hit accept at the same time. this will increase the chances of being able to get in the match, otherwise if everyone accepts at different times, theres a higher chance of not connecting

tbh ive been approaching the game on a more optimistic note bc i really want it thrive and i have been enjoying binging it. but if you head in pessimistically then you might not enjoy it. just general outlook on things really affect your experience you know. ive been through it for other games

overall the general consensus for a lot of peeps (that isnt steam reviews) is that its a really solid, fun game despite the issues. it seems theres a decent amount of people who's able to play w/ barely any issues. maybe you'll be lucky or maybe you'll just have to power through like i did. being in the gigantic discord server is p helpful too

i have to ask since youre like the ff 14 ceo to me can that game work on a laptop? ??

short answer: totally

long answer: yes, but it also depends

i started playing FF14 on a 3+ year old HP stream laptop (costed me around $200-400)

i played up to shadowbringers 5.4 with this computer, and a few things:

load times were obviously abysmal; in areas largely pact with 100+ players people would load in and out on me and the frames actively chugged. theres very minimal areas like that in game but its very noticeable

It would take me anywhere between 5 seconds to 30 seconds to load into an area depending. On my new laptop it takes 1-3 seconds

FF14 can get bulky so i ran it off a USB stick that sometimes would overheat and eject itself mid-game

i noticeably ran slower than others in game but it was rarely something that actively got in my way, think of it more like a road bump than a spike strip

i played on graphically lower settings, yet still only managed like 25-30 fps

i had to figure out my lag to time my movements to dodge attacks, 90% of the time lag saved me from dying where i shouldve obviously died and 10% it killed me in places where i looked obviously safe

FF14 is also getting a graphic overhaul that is recommending these requirements to play, but i think this is more of a ''reccommended to play smoothly''

i currewntly play ff14 SUUUUUUPER SMOOOOOTH on a gamer laptop that costed me $1,000+ that i loansharked with my mother to get, but if youre willing to play with some lag and at an inferior fps rate ff14 will absolutely run on any shithole you can download it onto. Cause the main crutch really is just having enough hard drive space for it but that can be bypassed with a USB stick or an external hard drive

i defos reccomend downloading the free trial and just seeing what happens, the worst thing it can do is not download and the second worst thing is that you cap at like 5 fps a second

but heres the thing i think this game is amazing even when i played it at 10 fps cause the music is so good and the characters are so good and the community, if not assholes as well, are really fun

i just got all the achievements on neo twewy after weeks and heres some stuff i learned (no spoilers btw)

lets see

the one for being a frequent customer you get when that repeat option shows up on their menu

at tokyu hands you can trade 2 gem pins for another one, the pairs are rare metal and tektite, adamantite and orichalcum, and shadow and dark matter scarletite is an ultimate drop only

if you want to grind stats:

style - 300 cap (you only need 222) - air in a can (vegelovers - tower records)

attack - 500 cap - that spicy black ramen i forgot the name (suzu slurps - dogenzaka)

hp and defense - 999 and 500 cap respectively - tuna head (sby bbq - tipsy tose hall)

scramble slam sucks but heres how you get the rewards:

put the game on ultimate and reduce your level, you get more points this way

the way you get points is by doing beatdrop combos which means you need a lot of enemies that last

also theres a multiplier that goes up by 0,4x everytime you do a combo in battle up to a max 5x, save the enemy with the 3x until you max the multiplier

make the biggest chain you can with JUST ONE slam noise, thats enough to make the whole chain track points, also you can do chain battles with rival players too just let the noise get you then walk up to the player, once youre done, leave the area then come back so the noise respawn

anyways, equip the basic shockwave and force rounds pins so you slowly kill enemies, equip the rest of your party members with pins you want to grind just make sure they dont have x or y inputs

start attacking with shockwave, once the beatdrop circle shows up switch to force rounds only when its past half (delaying a pin gives it a bit of time to regen, enough to give you one extra full use), repeat the process with force rounds, you can make the most of the pins this way, its like, 5 uses of shock and 4 of rounds, a lot of combos

youre gonna make a fuckton of points this BUT chains are gonna be LONG AS FUCK, 40 minutes up to an hour, be warned

second slam is going to be a massive pain in the ass it took me 8 chains to do it (would be less if i remembered to reduce level)

theres a limited amount of the ion trade pins, theres a few you can miss, look it on gamefaqs i dont remember them, youre gonna need all of them for all the pins and threads

you cant get all the fp you need to complete the network by just doing quests and gold dives on regular days, youre gonna need some extra 15 points you get from a LONG dive in another day, its 10 rounds long and kinda hard, the last round is the worst, its two angry bears and a t rex noise (also angry) save a killer remix for this round, the t rex deals a fuckton of damage and if it eats one party member you wont survive the roar that comes next, watch out

hog healer and affinity weaknesses are your best friends for tough fights remember this

for the love of god grind pp on easy on another day, difficulty doesnt change the pp you get (i think the same applies to xp)

the noisepedia completion gives you a graffiti when you hit 80% but youre gonna need 100% for it to count on the save file complete percentage

ive seen ultimate shibuya hikarie w3d5 and ultimate cat street another day be recommended for money grinding but for the most part i disagree (bc i died often, you need high drop rates for these methods)

the way i do it is ultimate o-east w1d5, the chains last less than a minute and only give like 180 to 200 thousand yen, a lot less than the other methods but the short chains make up for it, this method is also good for grinding food (you do need to take the longest route for the tuna heads which can be infuriating considering the load times)

most secret reports are unlocked by defearting boss noise, 3 of them unlock by network completion, the last one only when you get all others, also boss noise respawn if you come back to the area so you dont have to redo the day like in og twewy

its safer to increase drop rate by threads than decreasing level remember that for annoying fights dont worry most abilities arent that good anyway (I NEVER GOT THAT ONE THAT SAVES YOU FROM A FATAL ATTACK TO WORK FUCK THIS GAME)

plague noise only show up on story fights so you cant chain them, go in with high drop rates, you fight almost all of them in quick succession in the day you have to go after that guy, w3d6 i think?

the last boss is the only boss noise you cant chain also for some reason you can soundsurf when it starts throwing balls at you, use that to get groove

for the superboss on another day i recommend using hog healer (to heal), fang defender (to protect yourself from its HIGHLY damaging dash attack wich you can also dodge, but i found it harder and using this pin fully heals you if you get it right), and a lot of pins you can use at once in an all out attack, if one party member gets attacked the other ones will keep going, i recommend using darkness pins since they can stun and pins with easy beatdrop conditions, use killer remixes only when the armor is up, most of the fight is dodging

just do the time trial on easy no one cares anyway

for the remind graffiti theres like one or two you can miss, again, look it up on gamefaqs bc i forgor💀

you dont need to get 100% drop for the worst fights, thats what killer remix is for, 75% is fine, its worse to make a long ass chain than it is to just do another fight

i need to explain how the killer remix drop rates work so heres how:

thats why youre probably wondering why it isnt always 3x

the way it works is that you get a 0,5 per pin that has that little ready above it (thats what its for, i always wondered that) to get that ready you need to use that pin in a beatdrop combo either as the one that starts or the one that ends it

synergy abilities apply for the whole party strangely enough

theres a thread that gives you more time with pig noise, anyway brute forcing with killer remixes usually work no matter what

Foreign Policy Morning Brief: Did Iran abolish its morality police?

Welcome to today’s Morning Brief, where we’re looking at the controversy surrounding Iran’s notorious morality police, El Salvador’s crackdown on gang violence, and the world this week. 

What Actually Happened to Iran’s Morality Police? 

Iran’s notorious morality police force may have been disbanded, Iranian Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri suggested on Saturday, in vague and ambiguous remarks that have been met with confusion and skepticism. 

Montazeri had been responding to a question about the force, which enforces Iran’s conservative dress code and appears to have been less publicly active in recent weeks. 

“The morality police has nothing to do with the judiciary, and it was abolished by those who created it,” Montazeri said, adding that the judiciary is continuing to monitor behavior. He did not offer further details or any explanation. 

Without separate corroboration, as of Sunday night it remained unclear if the force had actually been abolished. Montazeri does not direct the morality police, state media said, and some outlets said foreign media had taken his words out of context, the Washington Post reported. 

“It’s not 100% sure that this is a done deal,” Alex Vatanka, director of the Iran program at the Middle East Institute, told Foreign Policy on Sunday. “It could be that they’re just testing the waters to see how it will be received by the protesters.”

Iran’s most recent wave of anti-government protests erupted in September when 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died while in the force’s custody in September. In the months since, security forces have launched a deadly crackdown in order to stamp out dissent, though the defiant demonstrations still show no sign of slowing. This week, protesters have planned a three-day-long strike. 

On Sunday, Iranian lawmaker Nezamoddin Mousavi appeared to strike a conciliatory tone towards protesters, reportedly saying that Tehran believes “paying attention to the people’s demand that is mainly economic is the best way for achieving stability and confronting the riots.”

The “Iranian regime is still very much in the thinking and planning stages. They know what the problems are; they don’t know what the solutions ought to be,” said Vatanka. “They’re worried that if they make the wrong kinds of concessions, that this protest movement will feel emboldened.”

In an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation,” U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stressed his support for Iran’s protesters—sentiments also echoed by Robert Malley, the Biden administration’s Iran envoy, in a recent FP Live conversation with FP’s Ravi Agrawal. 

The U.S. position is “one of support for the legitimate aspirations of the Iranian people and for their fundamental freedoms and rights that all citizens across the globe should enjoy,” Malley said. “We have made clear we are mobilizing international attention and putting the spotlight on what’s happening in Iran at a time when the Iranian regime is trying to hide and distort what’s happening.”

What We’re Following Today

Russian oil price cap. The European Union, G-7, and Australia have agreed to a set a $60-per-barrel price cap on Russian crude oil in a bid to deprive the Kremlin of crucial revenue; the cap is set to take effect today. 

On Saturday, the Kremlin said that it would “not accept” the cap, further underscoring uncertainty about how effective it would be in practice. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized the cap as “weak.” Negotiators were “trying to avoid hard decisions,” he added. 

El Salvador’s gang violence. El Salvador has deployed 10,000 police and soldiers to extract gang members in Soyapango, a town known for its significant gang presence, in its latest clampdown on gang violence. “Soyapango is totally surrounded,” President Nayib Bukele tweeted. “8,500 soldiers and 1,500 agents have surrounded the city, while extraction teams from the police and the army are tasked with extricating all the gang members still there one by one.”

Since announcing a state of emergency in March, authorities have arrested over 50,000 people accused of gang involvement. Rights groups have warned of major human rights infractions, including arbitrary detentions and torture.

Keep an Eye On 

South Korea’s labor protests. Protests swept Seoul on Saturday, days after the government ordered 2,500 striking cement truck drivers to resume working—or face potential jail time or hefty fines under a controversial law. Of the thousands of protesters, many were part of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions. For more than a week, as many as 20,000 truckers have been on strike for improved minimum wage protections.

Indonesia’s regressive new laws. Indonesian lawmakers are expected to approve a new criminal code that would ban sex outside of marriage, disparaging Indonesia’s president and institutions, and living together prior to marriage, Reuters reported. The code will likely pass on Dec. 15. 

“We’re proud to have a criminal code that’s in line with Indonesian values,” Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej, Indonesia’s deputy justice minister, told Reuters. Human Rights Watch’s Andreas Harsono warned it would be a “huge setback to Indonesian democracy.��

Counterstrike: Condition zero: Deleted Scenes review

CounterStrike: Condition Zero: Deleted scenes is a single palyer addon to the game CounterStrike: Condition zero which was single player version of 1.6 with challenges and some better graphics.

I played on hard mode, like i typically do with games, and is just insane. Enemies suddenly spawning right behind you, AI runs around like headless chickens on crack, ragdolls flung around the room like the poltergeist is happening. It's Jedi test of relaxes.

It's insane. Even with the framerate capped to slow their reflexes, its still fast and almost aimbot like. They know where you are at all times and you only got a split second to fire. Only on stealth levels is their awareness drastically reduced to accommodate the stealth gameplay which is to stay out of sight.

Some levels are better then others like Secret War or Recon, but most get worst the further you get through the game. It feels like they got lazier when designing levels. The further you get in, the more likely you will witness enemies t-posing as they spawn right in front of you and I wasn't going fast ether. Some levels you can break the spawns by moving too fast or carefully positioning yourself. It a mentally exhausting game of trying to predict where the next enemy will spawn and how. You won't get any warning or hear them.

It feels like they want the game to play more like a standard fps game, but it use counterstrike mechanics which makes some encounters and levels really frustrating with the bad accuracy and bad weapons you can be stuck with. The basic shotgun is so inaccurate past 5 feet, but you get expected to use it 20 feet away and too slow too. On higher difficulties, it can take multiple headshots to kill an enemy so shotgun and some pistols can be very risky to use.

Shame as some levels have some cool scenario's like sneaking through places and using wire camera or a cool die hard like action scenarios Like the skyscraper or one where you got to take control of an icebreaker ship. The japan levels have some really good environmental designs and are of the few where you feel like you are in a city. Graphically the game is more advanced then counterstrike 1.6 with some really detailed models.

I wanted to like the game but no matter what, I just got more and more disappointed with the game. I did manage to complete every mission except the bank level because of a bug. Most scenario's you are just thrown in with brief details and nothing really tying any mission together. Bugs, bad level designs, gameplay issues, etc. make this a bad game both back then and now.

Ok chat I played Indigo Park and Plants Versus Zombies today, summary:

Indigo Park is nice really good music but I recognize one of the people in the team and they make very good songs. Gameplay is a little dry, but it's only one part and I trust that it'll improve greatly, and the characters all seem pretty fun (big fan of Rambley despising Floyd). Only real complaint is that there aren't any true quality settings, your best bet is just capping the FPS instead of stuff like reducing shadows. Overall, good game, looking forward to the next chapters

PvZ. It's literally one of the most popular mobile games ever, and THE most popular tower defense game, but I've barely played it, only playing through some minigames on my grandma's tablet when I was really young. Yeah I died a single time and it wasn't in Adventure mode, it was in Wallnut Bowling (the one found in Minigames not 1-5). Also Cattail is broken they're so lucky they're usable in only two worlds. Gonna be playing more of it tomorrow (iirc im at level 5-3 or 5-4) then emulating PvZ2 because it's not on Steam or pc at all naturally (thanks ea.), and of course I refuse to give them any money, I already got Garden Warfare 2 for a huge discount I am not above hacking in plants in PvZ2
