Ok I don't do this often but I do like writing little predictions for each teaser post and this set's already shaping up to be a fav so from the top!

A cycle of Dragonstorm enchantments

This was pretty clear from the art and cardsnames shown at the last preview panel - my only interesting guess here is that they'll be monocolor, divorced from the clans.

Two Planeswalkers

We've already seen the planeswalker frame for Ugin. Elspeth seems to be more relevant to the main story than Ajani so the second will probably be her (as much as i think this set could give us an interesting ajani in new colors).

Some counters in the set: decayed, lifelink, and time

Decayed being on a Sultai card feels pretty obvious. Other than +1/+1 counters being Abzan it feels safe to say that there'll also be other counters in the set besides these too. The real kicker here is time counters - im guessing it'll be a on something to do with Ugin's Nexus, or maybe even Ugin himself?

A card that can tutor for one of two other cards

My king Renowned Weaponsmith makes a return but maybe with good cards this time.

A legendary enchantment

This is incomprehensible until we get story involving it so that's my only guess lol

A hydra that uses a clan keyword

This is actually way more interesting of a hint that it first lets on because like. The only hydra we've seen on Tarkir has been one with cobra hoods and a Sultai watermark, and their heavier snake motif in the redesigns lends us to believe it'll be whatever the new Sultai keyword is. But I think that Temur actually might lead to a more interesting design, because in the past they've cared about the power threshold. My guess is still gonna be Sultai but Temur would be sick

A common archetype theme gets an ability word

I've been wracking my brain on this one because most of the common archetypes either already have an ability word (Ferocious, Morbid), don't make sense to get an ability word because the synergy is too broad (+1/+1 counters, noncreature spells matter), or don't fit one of the clans (drawing second card per turn, fliers-matter, lifegain). I think "casting your second spell" for Jeskai makes the most sense to get keyworded here, and i think Flurry from the EDH precon description fits.

An instant that generates five effects

This'll be the five-color card Call the Spirit Dragons that we've seen the art for several times, with one effect per color.

Dragons get a new typal enchantment based on a popular Zombies one

There's no way in hell they aren't cooking Rooftop Dragonstorm with this one

A new instant and sorcery subtype

My only reasonable guess here is that it won't be associated with one of the clans specifically. I'm REALLY curious where they take this one

"Whenever you cast a Turtle spell, untap this creature."

Obviously some kind of Towershell reference, my guess is a baby one or a caretaker for their eggs.

"As long as there are three or more different kinds of counters among creatures you control,..."

Very likely an Abzan card - it'd be cool to see commons in this set giving ability counters in addition to +1/+1 counters in reference to the original cards with Outlast that gave keywords to all your creatures with counters on them.

"You may cast it without paying its mana cost if that spell's mana value is 8 or less."

Some sort of Temur card - maybe they care about having total mana value 8 among your creatures? Would be a fun way to do Temur without placing so much emphasis on "savagery", especially since blue is now the highlight color.

"If you put +1/+1 counters on five Dragons this way, you win the game."

This is either some insane ultra-dragon that we've yet to see emerge from the storms in the story OR Ugin's ultimate.

"Whenever a creature you control enters, if you cast it, destroy that creature"

A downside mechanic to something that lets you cheat cards into play, kinda like some insane board-based version of Song of Creation. Probably lets you put something big directly into play once or twice a turn for free in exchange.

"At the beginning of combat, if you've cast both a creature spell and a noncreature spell this turn,"

I kinda wish this was just flat-out the Jeskai mechanic because it'd be sick. But as-is this feels like some kind of bridge uncommon between Jeskai and someone else (maybe UR for Temur too?)

"Then if creatures you control have total toughness 20 or greater"

Either Abzan Mayael's Anima or the Khan herself. Maybe both.

"During your end step, Warrior tokens you control have 'This token can't be sacrificed.'"

Kind of implies this card isn't the only thing making Warrior tokens. Can't decide if it's kin-trees or some sort of Mardu mechanic around "Dashing" warrior tokens along the lines of Ball Lightning.

"Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, you may search your library for a card named CARDNAME, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle."

Probably a draft common, but I'm willing to bet this kind of duplicates-matter draft common is a LOT better in a world of Play Boosters, where individual commons are more frequent than before.

"Spells you cast have Delve"

I mean it's gotta be Sidisi right like c'mon

Creature - Dog Monk

Using this space to say I fucking love the Ainok redesign soooo soso much and that they'll be visible in the Jeskai now is awesome.

Creature - Elephant Druid

They seem to be using Druid instead of Shaman for the Temur this run and I really like that. Here's to more wooly loxodons.

Creature - Yeti

Creature - Djinn Cleric

They're putting the Djinni into Abzan!! We're getting monowhite sand djinni! It fucks!!!

Creature - Zombie Advisor

Now that we aren't doing the whole Sibsig thing this typeline gets way more interesting. Could be anything from monoU to UB to the full Sultai.

Creature - Kirin

I'm kinda surprised it won't be a Dragon Kirin considering the context but it'd be cool if this one was in reference to Giant Dragon Sarkhan from the recent story coming. He got a kirin for his arrivals in both KTK and DTK and I'd really enjoy a third for him.

Creature - Snake Shapeshifter

The Snake/Naga errata is here, thank FUCK. Obviously sultai, likely monoblue, hopefully a cool Body Double variant.

Artifact Creature - Chimera

To my knowledge we haven't seen a Tarkir chimera yet! But I'm assuming it'll be something along the lines of Dragonloft Idol, where it's a thing that gets stronger if you have a Dragon.

Artifact Creature - Ape Snake

However we have seen an Ape Snake (Thieving Amalgam) and the use of Manifest implies that it was in the FRF-era past. It'll be fun to see if this one references that one being a legend.

Maro’s Tarkir: Dragonstorm Teaser

Before previews for Tarkir: Dragonstorm officially begin, I thought it would be fun to do another of my Duelist-style teasers where I give tiny hints of things to come. Note that I’m only giving you partial information. 

First up, here are some things you can expect:

Ultimately a fine benchmark for the rest of my soup consumption. Flavor was solid if nothing special, noodles were nice and large and soft. The carrot chunks were a little too big for my taste, cuz cooked carrot gets really soft in a way that isn't pleasant to me, but it was still edible and pretty filling

Hello, you can call me Fox!

This is my miscecanis side blog. I've been living as an omega for many years now and it is an instrumental part of my identity, generally, sexually and gender-wise.

I take it very seriously but this does not mean that I do not also find fun or joy in it, in fact it brings me much of both as well as significant comfort and a sense of normalcy. It makes my body and behaviours feel "normal" and desirable.

Theories

I was just reading @bamsara 's The Rehabilitation of Death fic again and it got me thinking about the couple of directions I could see the overall plot moving. Weirdly enough, though, it wasn't the character relationships I was thinking of as the fulcrum, but rather the items the Lamb has been entrusted with. Through recovering the Bishops from Purgatory, the Lamb (and Narinder often enough trailing along behind him) has also recovered the organs and pieces Narinder took from them when they trapped him. Pieces of Gods, held by the infant God of Death, who has yet to (and may never) fully inherit and control their powers. There are a few individuals who may be interested in 'obtaining' these pieces of godly remains: two of which I see most readily taking action to obtain them. The Fox / Fangs In The Dark and also maybe Chemach. The Fox might take them to gain power. It seems to be his modus operandi, whatever his end goal actually is. Chemach might take them to turn into relics. Both options could lead to some troubling repercussions.

I watched the one clip from Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance where they introduce the Gundam EX and i think the only way i'd be into this show is if it were 7 more episodes of Zeon feeding increasingly large forces to it and it turned out the same way every time until at the end of ep 8 the EX reaches the local Zeon commander and opens its cockpit to reveal the most scared, tattered twink youve ever seen

like i want no background for any of the zeons, i just want 2 min setup, gundam tears through zeon like doomguy, end with marveling at it in terror
