Also can I ask. About KWKO. How did you first come up with them? Who was the first oc to come to mind and who was the last? Which one would you want to be roommates with?
I've had a few pjsk fan units before KWKO, so I wasn't exactly new to the concept when I first thought of them (Vanguard!! you will always be famous or something). I also used to be an author for pjsk shuffle unit AU that had a classical music unit, so that was my main interest at the time.
Long story short, some things went down, and additionally I've partially lost interest and partially noticed I'm too musically immature in regards to classical in most of my portrayals; that unit shuffle is currently on re-write list, I think. But aside from that, a lot of pre-set character backstories were more stifling to me than I expected, and I don't consider myself a particularly good writer, so... I just kind of wanted to get away with more, and from it. And also do classical music justice, this time. Everything else came pretty naturally.
Karin was the first character I've ever created, her first "solid" draft version was made March 12 this year - and frankly hasn't changed that much on the surface while her backstory and inner workings have definitely been revised since then. My first thought was like, "Hm, I want to create a character that has fox-like hair and has a fox surname, and is also mean, that would be fun" (it doesn't show much because everyone has their personal hcs + picrews are very limited, but Karin's design actually has the tips of her hair fade into brown-ish red and then black - hence the fox. I have a photo reference of what inspired me but no actual drawings!).
She was also originally supposed to be the unit leader, but not for long. I've realised very early on that Karin is unfit for that role both narratively and story-wise.
I can't exactly say who was the last - I think Akari? But honestly I made them all on the same day, so I think more fitting questions would be whose personality was established last and whose design? In that case, Suzuka and Maki, respectively.
Maki was briefly supposed to have blond or brown hair and blue eyes, then she had gray hair but still blue eyes. I don't know why I settled on purple/lavender color later - fits her nicely though!
Along with said fun fact: Kairi was originally supposed to have hazel eyes and either blonde or white hair. Currently he has light cyan eyes and off-white hair. Suzuka was supposed to have twin-tails, similar to Kohane's early main story haircut; it was since changed, but it remained her Junior High haircut.
Also, for the roommates... I feel like Reishi or Maki. Reishi is the sweetest guy and I feel like we'd get along well in how we like to keep our stuff organised and chores distribution; Maki would be a horrible roommate all things considered but she's also the most nun-judgemental person alive, which, considering the absolute state in which my room always is, would be a nice change of pace.

feral rei au word vomit aka rei trivia
has an affinity for ghost type pokemon since he was raised by hisuian zoroark
rei does walk upright but slouches a lot at first. after meeting up with akari and spending more time with humans, his posture gets marginally better but he still has a slight hunch
he starts with cyndaquil but it doesnt evolve into a quilava after a confrontation with melli (it aint pretty but i have to think more about that) and then into typhlosion when kamado banishes him
as stated previously none of his pokemon are “officially” captured by him with the exception of cyndaquil since that was given to him
rei doesnt know how to speak at first, after reintegrating to jubilife as a member of the corp akari and laventon both spent a lot of time helping him learn
he does know how to communicate with pokemon, less so with words and moreso with body language
hes much more empathetic towards the noble pokemon and ends up really exhausted after each one
when he does learn how to speak hes selectively mute and speaks primarily through sign language of which he learns through volo
volo ofc thought he was interesting from the start and, from his time as a merchant, learned sign language and figured thatd be easier for him to communicate (he was absolutely right and rei picked up on it very quickly)
rei ends up really liking volo after that (so you can only imagine post game rei)
hes got a bunch of scars littering his body, the majority are small but some are larger
the baneful fox mask was a gift from his zorua sibling (the one he befriended as a baby) absolutely just swiped the thing from someone
the pearl clan had... vague knowledge of rei? they didnt know he was human though since he never got close enough to their settlement and if they tried to get close to him theyd have an extremely protective zoroark on their asses. just rumors about him
he remembers absolutely nothing of his original time nor his time in jubilife as a baby (cyllene and laventon were shellshocked when akari brought him back years later)
i wanna say ingo shows up around when rei is 10ish? rei finds him unconscious and, since zoroark didnt want anything to do with him, lead the pearl clan to him
ingo figures out it was him once he meets up with him at 15, reis happy to see he ended up alright

The Demon Girl Next Door Review
On July 1st, this supernatural slice-of-life comedy anime directed by Hiroaki Sakurai came to an end. This series, which recently concluded, is based on an ongoing six volume manga series by Izumo Itō of the same name.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs, my History Hermann WordPress blog on Feb. 7, 2023, and Wayback Machine. This was the twelfth article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on July 18, 2022. This article was originally supposed to be published on The Geekiary, but they rejected it, saying it was too similar to my previous review.
The Demon Girl Next Door tells the story of a demon girl, and her two magical girl companions, as they learn more about themselves and face unexpected challenges.
The last six episodes of this anime continue with the same levity as the first nineteen episodes, with continued comedic moments, especially when it comes to the relations between Shamiko (Konomi Kohara), also known as Yuko Yoshida, and two magical girls.
The latter have their own internal problems. Mikan Hinatsuki (Tomoyo Takayanagi) has a curse that causes others to experience calamities when she gets flustered. Momo Chiyoda (Akari Kitō) is on the precipice between the powers of light and dark.
Although Shamiko is similar to the protagonist of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!, Jahy, in that she lives in a run-down apartment, she isn't alone in this. Mikan and Momo move in next door, and they all live in the same apartment complex. None of them are well-off.
Shamiko also gains a support network, of sorts, apart from help the magical girls give her. She has school friends like Anri Sata (Sayaka Senbongi) and Sion Ogura (Ayaka Suwa). The latter is a lover of the occult. She is able to conjure up recipes to help Momo, especially to stop her from slipping to the dark side. Notes left behind by Sakura Chiyoda (Hisako Kanemoto), the elder adopted sister of Momo, and magical girl, who gave her energy to keep Shamiko alive, assist her in this endeavor.
In another similarity with Jahy, Shamiko works in a part time job. Unlike that series, in The Demon Girl Next Door the bar is staffed by two magical beings: a demon tapir named Shirosawa, and a Hula jing fox named Lico.
As it turns out, Shirosawa (Takashi Matsuyama), who runs the coffee shop. He even created the mascot of the shopping district when the cat form of Sakura inspired him. As for Lico (Ayasa Itō), she is a waitress at the shop and she often uses magical leaves to bewitch people who eat the food that she makes. This includes, at one point, Shamiko.
Similar to other series in Western animation, like Amphibia, The Owl House, Steven Universe, gen:LOCK, and Inside Job, memories, manipulation, and mindscapes are an important part of this series.
Part of this is shown in the fact that Lilith (Minami Takahashi), an ancestor of Shamiko, can appear in the dreams of Shamiko. She can even take over Shamiko's body if a switch is flipped on her statue.
Lilith often guides Shamiko and Momo, especially when they enter mindscapes. However, she can only be connected to such mindscapes for a short period of time, and her connection can get fuzzy at times.
Then, there's times when Shirosawa has psychedelic hallucinations caused by eating Lico's food. The same is the case for Shamiko.
In one episode, Shamiko and Ryo go into Lilith's dreamspace, discovering she has a lot of manifestations of her loneliness there. Ultimately, she ends up defeating them all by changing her magic rod into stuff from video games she likes.
The final episodes of the series focus on Momo and Shamiko going into the heart of Mikan, with help from Lilith. They vow to tell the protective demon inside Mikan, Ugullu (Fairouz Ai) to calm down and end her curse once and for all. They are able to successfully negotiate with Ugullu and get her to realize the damage she is causing.
In a nice end to the series, Mikan's school friends help her out, by coming late one night to summon Ugullu into a new body, and a dish made at the cafe Shamiko works at. Ugullu comes into a new form and Mikan accepts her as part of her family.
In a post-credit scene, Ugullu clear has found her place, coming to terms with her new identity outside of Mikan, no longer tasked with defending Mikan from evil.
Like any other magical girl, or magical boy, series, magical transformations are a big part of the series. Similar to the aforementioned The Great Jahy, the magical girls and the demons can both transform. Shamiko can transform into the "crisis management form" which gives her some additional powers. In contrast, Momo and Mikan have their own specific magical girl forms.
At other points, Shamiko's sister Ryoko "Ryo" Yoshida (Hitomi Ōwada) helps create weapons with her magic rod. She realizes that Shamiko's subconscious is holding her back and helps her get over her mental hurdles. This is in-keeping with the series playing off many common elements of magical girls in anime and manga.
Unlike Mikan, Momo has a dark form which is known as "Darkness Peach". She occasionally transforms into this form when she is teetering on the edge of dark and light. At one point, she struggles to keep the two separated, but Shamiko helps her, as does Sion.
At another point, Shamiko tries to develop a special attack and inherits a wand from her father which can transform into anything she wants. She is helped in this task by Shamiko, and in coming up with a super special move. Both seem to have some feelings for each other.
There is also talk in the series as to how magical girls are ordinary girls who make a pact with the light clan, with demons getting a token for each magical girl they defeat. All the while, Shamiko often utters her line "don't think this means you've won". In a funny reference to this line, Momo says it at one point, almost becoming an in-joke of sorts.
Even worse is the fact that Momo's "Darkness Peach" form can break anything she touches. It turns out that when she is happy and content, the balance between the dark and light sides can come to a balance. She even goes to a hot healing spring said to be of therapeutic value, but it turns out to be a healing waterfall. What she finds there is turned into an elixir by Sion, which ends up helping her later on.
Related to this are the magic barriers put on doors, either with magic by Momo, Mikan, or Shamiko. Hilariously, these barriers are just weak pieces of paper, but apparently have all sorts of magical power.
In the final scene of the series, Ugullu declares that Shamiko is the boss of Momo, who is overjoyed. It ends with Momo teasing Shamiko, as they both walk off into the distance.

Since The Demon Girl Next Door is based on a manga parody series, it is no surprise that the series doesn't really take itself too seriously. The characters are never in series danger. Instead there are occasional breaks in the fourth wall. There's even a hilarious shirt worn by Lilith on multiple occasions which says "my blood sugar level is dangerous".
At other points there are faulty recaps which don't make sense and fun interplay between Momo and Shamiko. This involves Momo trying to motivate Shamiko to do homework and the fact that Momo wants to see a baby tiger at the zoo.
Also comedic is Momo's reaction when she drinks disgusting potions from Sion. At others, the characters are saying that they don't have many lines of dialogue or when Lilith tries to send a picture of herself into the camera but it doesn't work.
Its also funny how Mikan, who lives alone, is afraid of cockroaches even though she is an all-powerful magical girl. Shamiko helps her, even assisting in cleaning up her trash. It is a bit amazing that Shamiko, who has only known Momo for a few months, is able to help Mikan more than Momo, who has been a friend of Mikan for 10 years.
In some ways, Mikan is socially awkward. In the show's next to last episode, she worries about her school introduction as a transfer student. It ends up going well, however, with Anri helping her. She ropes in Momo to help with prepare with sports day preparations.
Family is an important theme in The Demon Girl Next Door too. Shamiko has a tight family, with a loving sister, Ryo, and mother, Seiko Yoshida (Sayaka Ohara). She has a smile on her face, no matter how absurd the situation is. In an interesting twist, Joshua (Hideyuki Umezu), the father of Ryo and Shamiko, was sealed in a cardboard box by Sakura, the same box they eat many meals on!
Family is important to Momo too. She deals with the past actions of her sister and tries to figure out why she did what she did. She and Mikan find a chosen family among Shamiko, her family, and many school friends.
While some have argued that the series is a "mid-tier offering" with animators told to not "overtax their assets", the series has a certain charm to it. This is due to the fact that J.C. Staff, responsible for recently ended The Executioner and Her Way of Life, and series such as Edens Zero, Sweet Blue Flowers, R.O.D.-The TV, Azumanga Daioh, and Revolutionary Girl Utena, animated this series. While the animation of this series does not have the same quality as the aforementioned series, it still fits with the slice-of-life vibe.
The show's voice actors have voiced characters in series ranging from Bloom Into You to Akebi's Sailor Uniform. Many of these series, and others, like Adachi and Shimamura, Asteroid in Love, Kageki Shojo!!, have direct and indirect yuri themes.
Others are about socially awkward characters, like Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu and Komi Can't Communicate. This undoubtedly set the groundwork for their voice acting in this series. The same can be said for those who voiced characters in slice-of-life series like Chronicles of the Going Home Club, Kin-iro Mosaic, Gabriel DropOut, and Let's Make a Mug Too.
I loved that some of the voice actors in this series voiced characters in Bodacious Space Pirates. The latter is a niche sci-fi adventure anime which has two supporting characters (Lynn Lambretta and Jenny Dolittle) in a romantic relationship.
The series director, Hiroaki Sakurai, is just as talented. He is known for directing comedies like Kodocha, Di Gi Charat, Di Gi Charat Nyo!, and Nanaka 6/17. He also directed a ninja anime, Jubei-chan: The Ninja Girl, and a magical girl parody, Majokko Tsukune-chan. This directing experience, and that of other series, undoubtedly had a positive impact on The Demon Girl Next Door.
While the final episode of the series is a fitting season end, there is a possibility for continuation. A third season could be focused on the continued adventures of Mikan, Momo, and Shamiko. Another season would continue to be slice of life, with a continued focus on trying to make the town a place that's easy for everyone to live in as the narrator says at the end.
Perhaps even Momo and Shamiko could be shown as more than ambiguously together. They could be even closer like the protagonists of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Kobayashi and Tohru. It could be more than "shipping fodder" between them then, with often fanservicey outfits of Momo, Shamiko, and other characters. This series does not have any explicit queer representation, just heavy subtext.
In the end, while The Demon Girl Next Door is not my favorite anime series that I've watched this year, it is still a must-see for those interested in magical girls, demons, supernatural themes, and yuri subtext.
The Demon Girl Next Door can be watched on HIDIVE.

Modern au Ingo and Akari deal with a rift and while they manage to (barely) avoid ebby debby they can't escape the age swap. Akari thinking this means she's totally old enough to go on those raids now while everyone tells her no and wonders about letting Ingo, who is (mostly) mentally an adult and their leader participate in these raids. The big reveal comes where Ingo's mask breaks and they find out the leader of the Peral Team was Ingo and Emmet's apparently evil kid cousin from Sinnoh!
On one hand, this makes concealing his identity a lot easier! No one will connect Ingo to himself (or even worse, Emmet) when he's suddenly a whole foot shorter. Sure, it'll take some getting used to, but he can make this work at least temporarily!
On the other hand... well, he wasn't planning on going back home but uh. Yeah. Guess he can't do that now. He would have no way to explain to Emmet how he suddenly lost over ten years of his life in like, five hours.
Meanwhile everyone theorizes something happened to the Black Fox's original host body, so he just snatched another. More fuel to the fire!

Genshin Impact OC info dump, because I can. (Jk jk) Some of these are not final designs.
Ocs in order(?)
Akari (they/them (any pronouns are fine.), a cunning but kind ancient fox spirit that fakes their identity by being a human traveling salesperson to avoid getting jailed again because of a crime they falsely committed many years ago. Their pyro vision is a special kind of pyro call “soul pyro” and is a poleam user.
Ezria (she/they), a mysterious “witch” who in secret deals with necromancy using her electro vision powers. They have also cursed themselves with a small bat demon creature thing that disguises itself as a ornament on their hat. She is a catalyst user.
Valai (they/them), a half sheep hybrid that travels around Teyvet trying to find any origins of their past. At the moment they reside in Monstadt having a break from their travels. They have a dendro vision and is a claymore user.
Aden (He/him), he isolated himself in Dragonspire after his past village abandoned him. He now helps lost adventurers find their ways around the mountain disguised behind a white plague doctor mask. This has dubbed him “The Frost Doctor”. His little owl’s name is Dawn. He has a ice vision and is a poleam user.
Jin (He/They/it), the guardian to the gates and protecter of the spirit realm. Owner of the largest liberty in the spirit realm as well. Was gonna be the geo archon instead of Morax in the past, but turn it down and gave up his god-like powers to become a spirit instead.

RETRO VGM REVIVAL HOUR - Stage 75: DARKSTALKERS
The game originally began development when Capcom decided to make another fighting game using their CPS2 arcade board, which allowed for even better animation, detailed sprites and additional effects.
Various conflicting reports have surfaced as to who exactly over at capcom was responsible for bringing this particular game to life. One story, According to art director Akira Yasuda, was that a Capcom Artist by the name of katya Akitomo had an idea to create a Monster Fighting game which was then given life thanks to a collaboration by game planner Junichi Ohno. The other story comes in the form of Capcom U.S.A’s producer Alex Jimenez, who states that Capcom Approached him with an Idea to make a new fighting game.
As Jimenez was a big fan of the Universal Monsters, and was responsible for Capcom obtaining the Marvel comics AND Fox Studios licenses for Capcom, suggested the idea of a fighting game that featured various famous Universal monsters of that era, Frankenstein’s monster, dracula, the wolf man and so on…. And actually approached Universal studios to obtain the rights to use those classic monsters. Unfortunately, the deal was rejected, but Jimenez continued on with the Idea of Monster based fighting game, which he states took him about an hour to create all new original characters that were recognizable, but distinctly different from their Universal counterparts. Now the true Origins of this franchise and its characters continues to be quite a mystery. Ultimately, most fans of the series have accepted that both stories are probably true to some extent. With the game being generally very well-received by critics upon release in arcades and later home console ports, Darkstalkers would become a Capcom title that was essential in the further development of Capcom's 2-D fighter dominance. Games like X-men Children of the atom, The marvel VS capcom series, Street Fighter alpha series, and even other games Not created by capcom like Guilty gear, Melty Blood and Blazeblue were a result of the fast pace gameplay that was introduced by the Darkstalker series which further cemented Capcom as the powerhouse of 2D fighting games. Although there have been various re-releases of the first 3 games (5 if you include versions that were updated arcade games that removed/included characters or modes which were only available in Japan at the time) there has been little to no news about a New Game in the series for almost over 25 years. With characters being Relegated to cameos and costume skins for other Capcom fighting games, It seems this once celebrated franchise is basically dead, but as long as there are fans of this series, The DarkStalkers will NEVER DIE! So this is Why This STAGE of the Retro VGM Revival Hour is Resurrecting some ghoulishly amazing tracks from the various games (as well as cameos) from the DARKSTALKERS Franchise.

So a couple Days ago in a very sleepy state while playing Minecraft with the Origins Mod, I had this golden au idea.
What if the Pokemon Legends Arceus characters had the Origins from the Origins Mod?
(Well it was more like what if I threw them into Origins modded minecraft, but it evolved from there. I may still do that crack idea)
This au is mostly the same as base game until just before the post game and just after the base game. Then a whole bunch of people just get sick for some reason, including all the Wardens and most of the key players in the game.
Akari, the skyfaller in this au, is among the first to get the "virus" going around. She is also the first to get over it. And when she got over it she fairly quickly noticed that she had changed. That she was more foxlike, her hair color having changed color, her ears changed to that of a fox's, and she now has a tail (and also that if she stood very still no one could see her, but that doesn't matter).
So yeah the summary of this au is: whole bunch of people get the Origins from the origins Mod of minecraft (Enderian, Fox, Merling, etc. etc.) None of the Characters start out with the Origins stuff and get it after a verry intense fever. There are also vague minecraft elements now, i guess.

AtsuHina: T w o W o r l d s (侑日:2つの世界)
Previous: Next:
1.
"Oi, 'Tsumu!"
Atsumu looked behind him, his dark sun-tinted locks stirring in the wind. His eyes were sparkling hazelnut and his nine-tailed tinted blonde. The young fox faced the one who called him, a small smile curling up his lips.
"My darling twin. What's wrong?"
"You're weird today. Hit your head?"
"NO, I didn't!"
"You look like you did hit your head."
"What's with you and my head being hit?"
But Osamu didn't answer.
"But anyway, I'm hungry," Osamu whined, pouting and putting his hand in his stomach.
"Stop acting cute."
"Admit it, I'm cuter than you."
"Oh, shut it!"
"But, Where's mom?"
"I don't know, I've been looking for her everywhere..." He said, staring at the crystal waterfalls. The sudden calmness of it makes Atsumu lose his worries and relax, that's the power of this waterfall. Its name is the Oshinkoshin Waterfall or in Japanese, Oshinkoshin-no-taki
"It's funny on how we share this waterfall with other human beings," Osamu glanced at the waterfall, his eyes sparkling from its crystalline beauty.
"It's quite unfortunate that we don't get to communicate with them or anything," Atsumu added.
"The waterfall?"
"Humans, stupid!"
"We're not allowed...remember what happened to the late princess?"
"Yeah...she fell in love with a human being. I want to too," Atsumu then pouted.
"You want to die? We saw the late princess being killed in front of our eyes. We were children back then!"
"I know, idiot!"
"But It makes me wonder," Osamu murmured, bending down and staring at the small lilac flower. "Why aren't we allowed?"
He then looked at his twin brother, who was still looking for at the waterfall.
"No one knows."
Atsumu then sighed, sitting down beside Osamu, who was holding the flower with amusement in his hands.
"Do you also know the reason why?" Osamu stared at the flower his twin is holding.
"Why we're not allowed?"
"No..," Osamu then stared at the sky.
"You know, you stare at a lot of things."
"It's a habit."
"Okay.., "Atsumu then muttered, looking at the trees behind him.
"Answer my question.."
"You haven't even answered mine!"
"What's yours?" Osamu then looked at his brother.
"Umm, is it about the relationship with human beings?"
"No, not that..."
"Then what?"
"Why are we called wicked foxes? Evil in any way possible..."
"Where did you get that information? I didn't know that..."
"I was hiding there," He pointed the small bush right beside the large enchanted tree. "Then I heard human beings talking about us."
"What'd they say?"
"They said that there's a myth that Kitsunes like us live here and steal the lives of humans who trespass our enchanted waterfall. Or curse them. One even said that we can shapeshift as humans like them then act like them to steal and curse them."
"We can really shapeshift...right?"
"Yes, we can turn into humans like them or other animals, but now it's forbidden because of what happened with the late princess."
"Aww...too bad."
"I know."
The silence then fell on them, only the water splashing is allowed to speak. The wind rustled the leaves, making other dead leaves come with it. The sky was clear cerulean, with cotton-like clouds walking in the sky. The sun shone through the clouds, shining sweet light to the land. Atsumu then lied on the grass and closed his eyes, the sunlight reflecting on his snow-white skin. His nine tails became a pillow to his head and a small scarf protecting his from the cold of early autumn. His favourite season is coming, and he is very excited about it.
"Oh, by the way," Osamu queried, covering Atsumu's face from the sun. "Why were you looking for Mother?"
"Oh? She left the house hours ago. She should be back by this hour, she said..."
"WHAT?!" Osamu exclaimed in Atsumu's face. He shoved his twin away.
"Don't scream at me!"
"Sorry, I'm not sorry."
"You should be!"
"..."
"..."
A sudden silence fell on them again.
Then, something from out of the bush ran towards them. It's HImari, a fellow Kitsune friend of theirs. She is the same age as them, but she became the older sister of the two.
"Himari?" Osamu interrogated. "What's wrong?"
"Your mom..." she struggled to release the words from her mouth as she was panting. She held on Atsumu's sleeve. "Your mom..."
"What happened to our mom?" Atsumu helped Himari up.
"R-run.."
"What?"
"RUN NOW! THE GUARDS ARE LOOKING FOR YOU TWO! GO!"
"Hima-"
"Leave me! Get all your things and go!"
Himari pushed Osamu and Atsumu away, she collapsing to the ground because of exhaustion.
She looked at the two confused brothers.
"Now! They'll kill you!"
"I need to save mo-"
"If you go," Himari cut Atsumu from speaking. "You'll die. NOW GO!"
Osamu and Atsumu ran as fast as they can, leaving Himari alone.
2.
Osamu and Atsumu packed their things and left the house immediately. They shapeshift in their fox form because that's the only thing they're allowed to shapeshift into. They ran across the forest, not leaving any trace of their smell and footprints.
"Now, where are we going, my darling twin?" Osamu asked sarcastically whilst running beside his brother.
"There's a forest in Tokyo. Grandmama lives there with Akari. We'll go there."
"Akari?"
"You forgot her? She's the one Grandmama adopted years ago."
"Oh, right. Yeah..."
And the twins run towards Tokyo to their Grandmama. that will surely give them safety.
3.
"Where are the twins?" the Imperial chief asked the subordinate while holding a dead woman in this hands.
"I don't know sir-"
"FIND THEM NOW!" The Imperial Chief shouted, enraged with anger. "I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THEY ARE AND WHERE THEY'RE GOING! BRING THEM TO ME ALIVE!"
He then threw the dead body in the waterfall, tinting half of the water with blood.
"Yes, sir," the subordinate then bowed down, ordered his men and went out to find the twins.
"I'll find you soon," the chief whispered. "Your life will pay for your sins."
The prologue is done! I didn't actually expect this myself to go into this type of situation...😅😅😅 silly me. But anyway, I hope you enjoyed this prologue and it gave you more interest in reading this series of mine. I got to rate this mature for how I think the story will turn out with a lot of killing and violence, I guess...😅😅😅
But just a little reminder, I may not post that more often, both the AtsuHina and Jikook: Two Worlds and Hanahaki Series because I'm going to change my glasses in the meantime and I can't see with my glasses so this might take a while. But, I hope you put this story in your list for updates. I'll be also posting it on the stream if I can.
But anyway, thank you for staying tuned! I'll be looking forward to telling the story of Kitsune Atsumu and Human Hinata with you!
Bye!
I also felt like this prologue would need to be continued. But no, I won't. It'll be revealed mostly in the story. And yes, original characters and crossovers.
and yeah, credits to the owner of the fanart above :D

Àstrid Bergès-frisbey para The Last Magazine.
I Origins foi lançado pela Fox Searchlight Pictures.

Hello! I'm a bit curious about the Onibi series.... I just read the summary of Onibi series on Onibiness' tumblr blog and it seems the story ends at the fox's wedding chapter 3. So I was confused and REALLY wanted to know what happened after that in details. I thought you might be able to help...? I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. haha.
you arent bothering me at all!!
so yea, the detailed story ends after the fox’s wedding, and we don’t have a specific timeline of events after it aside from the plot of songs. the songs that are covered in the blog are part of the fox’s wedding and the spider and the kitsune-like lion, so we know a lot more about those!
the order of the songs is:- the spider and the kitsune like lion- the fox’s wedding- the beautiful shadow of the demon’s frenzied dance- beheading dance/the demon child in the clear mirror (the latter takes place at the same time as the former, but in different locations)- onibi- star lily dance performance (a what-if scenario where mai and akari are alright)
to summarize:- the spider and the kitsune like lion: akari is kidnapped for a performance at the shishikusa house, she activates her power during the performance and ryou stabs her, ryou becomes unhinged and stays in the basement of the theater while she tortures akari until she dies, but not before she curses ryou and her family to a cycle of cannibalism and death- the fox’s wedding: somehow, the oborodzuka clan hears about how akari dies and kidnaps mai out of vengeance after attacking the shishikusa clan’s house; they force mai to eat human flesh and possess her (?), return her to the shishikusa clan only for a possessed mai to being killing and eating members, ending with her eating her mother and father, assumed to be affected by the curse (alluded to in the original song)- the beautiful shadow of the demon’s frenzied dance: mai is completely unhinged and goes throughout castle town killing people in a performance-type way - beheading dance: mai, being cursed, can see the world of the dead while still alive and therefore can see all of the people she has killed, she wanders through town while appearing to be completely crazy; at the end of the song, she is beheaded (i am guessing by shikyou) and her head is returned (presumably in a box) to akari- the demon child in the clear mirror: a side story, this stars kaori and either her mother or a depiction of ryou and it’s unknown what the plot actually is- onibi: is set a long time (100 years) after the main series, the GUMI is ryou i believe but we don’t know who the miku is!
i hope this helps, its kind of long and we don’t have a lot of info ^^;
#onibi series#masa works design#ask#lore#(i may use this tag now ghsdkf)#god this series is so complicated but i love it

Archived blog: I found Shikyou
(She’s right here roflmao)
No I haven't found the old Shikyou PV. No I haven't found out if it even exists. Yes that's Skyrim.
This isn't purely a shitpost I swear. I've been wrapping my head around something major in the Onibi story.
So somewhat recently, Yoot and Nate did a podcast together where they discussed random Masa stuff (a lot of lore). Nate (ahem, Decent Artist, sry) brought up an important lore tweet from Masa that has something to do with Shikyou's true identity. He was relying on memory and described the tweet as "something about how when we find out Shikyou's name, it would be the endgame of the Onibi series." I think he's referring to this tweet:
March 26, 2013
“In the world of the Kitsune, what is called Shikyou the Amanojaku is quite a key. Well, she’s like God. The beginning of Headless Dancing Frenzy is the key to the whole story.”
^^^From Shishikusa's compilation of Masa's lore-related tweets
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MbXoVDwgX26aFMhl3TtsBhig63pZRbdwYQFIWdGTVac/edit?pli=1
I believe she was just using google translate, as that's how she made the blog summary. Pretty much the same message- however! I have a different understanding of what exactly this is saying. But we'll get to that after I tell you who I'm pretty certain Shikyou is.
Akari's grandma explains how there were all these gods and goddesses in the old ancestry of the Oborodzukas in the third act of the blog. She says that Izanagi and Izanami created the world. These original gods had three children: Amaterasu, Mikoto, and The Terrible Tsukuyomi.
If anyone wants to delve into theories about this aspect of the lore, it's time to get yourself a copy of the Kojiki. These names are Shinto gods and goddesses in real life. We can learn a lot about the happenings in the Onibiverse by theorizing which pieces of the real legends apply to the story.
And by looking up the names of these gods granny named, there is a big revelation right off the bat! Ok so Akari's grandma says that Shikyou rules the land of the dead (known as Yomi in the Shinto religion) but that she was not always a god of death. Keep this next detail in mind for later: anyone who learns Shikyou's real name is killed by her "messenger".
Look up the rocky relationship between Izanagi and his wife. What does it say?!? Oh yes, that IZANAMI CAME TO RULE THE LAND OF THE DEAD! She died giving birth to a certain fire god named Kagutsuchi, which happens to be the name of the demon that was sealed by the Kitsune clan (act 2 chapter 4). As a result, she went to the underworld (Yomi) and ate the food there, an act which bound her there forever (I have an unrelated theory about this). When Izanagi comes to rescue her (and fails), she says she'll go persuade some unnamed lord(s) of the realm to let her go. She tells him not to come see her until she returns to the land of the living. He does it anyway, and sees her hideous, decayed form. Shit goes sideways, one thing led to another, and his wife now rules the land of the dead and promises to cause a thousand deaths every year. Shikyou has that power by the way; to cause "death and misfortune" (her namesake), in order to return borrowed lives to the gods (or so she says).
There's of course a lot more to explore about how the Shinto stories relate to the Onibiverse. It's not a 1:1 copy of the religion obviously; there are going to be elements borrowed but changed perhaps drastically, many others left out. Do you know how many gods there are? How many stories about them?
Here's one other interesting connection. In the podcast on Yootna Marketing's channel they also brought up another tweet about how Shikyou is actually 8 different gods or something. This one here:
June 17, 2014
“(Shikyou, the Amanojaku)
One of eight gods of Shikyou, the ‘fake obscene fox’. Only one other god like this has been born in the past. She had a terrible power, that was the power to take souls from the River Styx, but people feared her because she robbed life from the world. There was only one other person with a name like Shikyou-sama in the world. That’s certainly Tsukuyomi.”
Here's a little something to contemplate: the birth of Kagutsuchi and the ensuing death of Izanami is said to be the beginning of death in the world. His father Izanagi cuts off Kagutsuchi's head out of anger for "killing" his wife. From the spewed blood of Kagutsuchi are born...
8 gods.
And this is the exact same event that began the cycle of death in the world. Maybe "one of eight gods of Shikyou" means "one of eight gods of death and misfortune". I'm confused about this though, as it's describing Shikyou the Amanojaku in the tweet. Is an Amanojaku her chosen new form? Does this have to do with what Shikyou said to Akari, that she's "not the Shikyou you're thinking of"? Lots to wrap your head around.
You might be wondering. "How is this 'the endgame' of the Onibi series roflmfao".
I think what's meant by Masa's tweet is that this all has to do with how the story of Onibi itself actually ends. GG I'm never gonna find the willpower to write that >30 page essay on Demon's March and Beautiful Shadow. For now, just look at this from act 2 chapter 4:
I came to the fox’s altar.
[...]
I touched a demon’s skin for the first time. It’s hard, and tinged with heat.
She said that everything on the way home from hell is different.
I saw Shikyou’s gates.
[...]
Through the fox’s wedding, I devote myself to the altar and stand before the gate for the first time.
I saw the gatekeeper.
[...]
This is Shikyou’s gate. The demon was talking. Everyone thinks differently.
I saw Shikyou.
They asked.
I could not answer.
So I returned the remains of my borrowed life here.
Remember how Shikyou returns life to the gods? Yep she does it by killing people! She killed that poor bastard! And why did she do that?
(Act 3 chapter 2) In the beginning Shikyou was not the god of death. Those who knew her true form then were killed by her messenger.
(Act 2 chapter 5) Three, ancient, the name of the evil spirit will only be shown if you continue to hell.
I think he found out who she was when he reached hell. I think the endgame of the Onibi series takes place there, at Shikyou's gate.
{Edit}
I was mistaken about Shishikusas using google translate. I thought I remembered her stating that but it turns out I just assumed. She appears to know a fair bit of Japanese, so she's probably more reliable than machine translators.
(I don’t even understand what katakana is but seems legit!)
{Edit}
I was mistaken again. Knowing katakana doesn't mean you know Japanese.
{Edit}
Decent artist actually wasn't referring to that tweet. It was a dm. But it said something pretty similar.
