I actually started this yesterday, and continued it on my walk this morning…because I walked two days in a row! I was feeling down last night (and the last three or so years, I guess, to varying degrees) and this was the pick-me-up I needed. @guyadams script has just the right amount of humor that it feels like it’s from the mid-Tom Baker period of the show, without turning it into a comedy. I still have a bit of the behind the scenes stuff to go, but I finished the story and will finish everything else up today. That’s two days in a row I walked! After being sidelined by an injured ankle, I’m back on the treadmill today! I’m determined to walk all five work days this week. I’m well into the fourth & final episode of this story, so I’ll finish that up as well. Knowing that this was a script completely reworked for the television version, I don’t mind saying that this is a really good production of a mediocre story. I listened to the first episode & a half of this story today. I need to get back to Shadow of the Daleks, but I was really in the mood for a classic adventure, hardening back to the era when I first started watching the show. This audio production really captures that feeling, right down to the almost aggressively Dudley Simpson-esque music score. And I really wanted to hear the recast Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan. For their first couple of lines, it was clear I wasn’t hearing the late Elisabeth Sladen or the late Ian Marter recreating their TV roles.
