I really haven't been doing much long form journaling lately. I'm keeping up with my daily pages in my Hobonichi and that seems to really capture the most important stuff from each day. But I wanted to do a more free form brain dump today so here we are. Two pages separated by a considerable amount of time. 🤪 I can't be the only one, right?!

Day 25: Hampton Harbour Sage. Testing out and swatching a new ink from Ferris Wheel Press. Love this shade of green because it isn’t too garish or loud. Green can be a tricky color. I feel like this and a sepia or brown ink would make a nature journaller swoon. I'll have another color tomorrow and it's a gooood one.

My Sensory Chromatography project is now on my website 🌌✨☔️ >>> https://nydialilian.com/project/sensory-chromatography After 2 years of experimenting with #FountainPenInks, I find it really incredible that most of the paintings were done with only one ink, this is because a chemical reaction -called #chromatography- happens, so the ink splits into different hues and creates nebulous textures and gradients. Also, I would like to add as a personal experience, that fountain inks -just like watercolors- give you the bizarre gift of being in the present, if you rush, hesitate, or get distracted, it can easily mess up the artwork, so… as corny as it sounds, this method can be an intense mindfulness therapy too 🧠 ✨🧘‍♀️ lol… I highly recommend this for those people with anxiety and/or mental illness. *However*, surely the brain will probably be stressed during the learning process (for all the good reasons, I might add), but I think it’s a good way to get out of our own comfort zones and try to challenge ourselves once in a while by using any tool or method that help us break the monotony limbo we sometimes end up in.
