At this point cardan just gave up and started doing what he does best: writing Jude’s name in an angry, passionate and grieving fashion. This is called the, “ I give up you win” letter.

Cardan’s letters pov

Part 1: overcautious

A/n: because I can’t do much else here’s another alternate pov. thank you to @darlingod for helping me with the order of the letters. It’s quite short and the other parts will be up soon, shouldn’t take as long as my other one. Lmk if you wanna be tagged

Part 2

She still wasn’t back.

It has been a week and a half.

And I was beginning to panic.

Until pardoned by the crown. I’d made it as clear for her as I could think to without the Undersea knowing I wasn’t planning to leave her in exile forever.

But she’d killed my brother. After I explicitly told her not to.

However it was Jude, and it was what Jude did best- act now ask questions later. And she wouldn’t’ve done so without reason.

“Your majesty,” Randalin followed me as I walked through the halls, the bastard.

“What.”

Jude would probably laugh that I had to actually talk to one of my advisors.

“Princess Nicasia wishes to speak to you.”

“I do not wish to speak to her.”

“It might be good to at least sit down with her, remove some of the… uh… tensions that remain after Prince Balekin’s murder.” I was taller than the man so he had to hurry to keep up with me, it brought me a slight amount of petty satisfaction.

“Again, I do not wish to speak to her.” Didn’t this is guy ever shut up? This was exactly why I made Jude go to council meetings.

“Well then there is also the matter of finding a new seneschal since you exiled your last one-”

I cut him off before I punched him. I wasn’t a particularly violent person, but I would make an exception for him. “This can wait till the next meeting.”

“Of course your majesty.” He turned around and walked the other way.

I opened the door to my room. And slammed it behind me.

There was a hole in my chest. I’d never felt like this before, this longing and guilt. And fear that perhaps something had happened to her.

I sat at the desk for the first time since I’d moved in here, grabbed a quill and began writing on a blank piece of parchment.

Jude,

I stared at her name. What could I say? There was always the risk of the letters being intercepted, especially with Madoc unaccounted for, so I couldn’t say too much, would she want the folk to know she was their queen yet? Would she want to be there and say it instead of rumours festering as they always did?

Come back

That made me sound desperate. And I wasn’t desperate, not yet.

I looked at it. Yes, it was straight to the point, much like she always was.

I grabbed an envelope and blew the dust off of it. Maybe I should do more work every now and then.

I wrote her name on the front of it and handed it to one of the guards outside my room.

“See to it that this is taken to a messenger.”

“Yes your majesty.” He replied and left.

All I could do was hope it made it to her, and she would want to come back.

the progression in the first two scenes where cardan goes from smugly writing letters, like he knows the whole exile thing is a joke and jude would understand and come back soon bc he's in denial. to the third making him a bit angsty grabbing his crown with his wine glass is beside him bigger than before. in the fourth he's far past angsty and his crown is long forgotten with the glass of wine replaced with a full bottle; now half empty bc he drank it all. in the last he's begging bc he cannot take it anymore, he has also given up in his mind thinking he lost jude forever and that she won't spare him another glance

11.  Books and/or authors who influenced you the most:

Sarah J Maas has influenced and inspired me a lot. I had read the og trilogy of ACOTAR when the second first came out and then the third, at that point while in love with them they weren't life changing. Then I was at my lowest and wasn't reading, wasn't writing, nothing. My marriage was ending and I was also going through an identity crisis. So I started rereading Acotar, and picked up Throne of Glass, and Holly Black's Folk Of The Air series (though it was only The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King at the time). I took in everything reading became a whole new world for me because I found it hard to read non fantasy, especially contemporary romance. The other two books to inspire me are: The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simmons and Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. Usually when stuck I go back to ACOTAR, FOTA, Bronze Horseman, or Invisible Monsters.

20.  How many WIPs and story ideas do you have?:

I have about 46 ideas, not all of them are set in stone, and since the time of my spread sheet creation to keep track of them all most have changed. There is an info thing at the end of my introduction that goes into the more set ideas. There is a new one not on there that is now a forefront one with no title but it has the working name of "the bone reader". Aside from that I have 7 WIPS (technically more than that because two of the seven are part of a universe that has 9... NINE... different series/stand alone ideas. I also have no hope that all 46 ideas will come to fruition.

41.  Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?:

More advice? Okay here's another one for y'all: Your idea is original, it may not seem original or there may be people that steal your idea and make it their own, or steal parts of your work and make it theirs. But that's just it. It's theirs not yours. Your idea is original because you can only tell it like YOU would tell it. Dracula is so old and has been redone but you're not gonna say that Bram Stoker's work is the same thing as S.T. Gibson's. Lore Olympus isn't the same as A Game of Fate. So don't let "an over-saturation of xyz" or "everyone now days gets published for shit it seems" make you give up. Go write that book about a fae prince or a teenage vampire. there are 26 letters in the alphabet and we're all gonna string them together differently (just don't be a whole book/idea stealer either because we can always tell too). right now you just fucking write that magnificent idea from start to finish like you want it to be.

It’s just abuse is glorified. I find no pleasure reading it, it’s just an excuse to write porn in fiction, especially in ACOTAR. I heard some things for tog that it’s still not as bad but the MC (Aelin) is apparently the best assassin but makes pretty dumb decisions and so I’m not up for that. I’m not ready to read Feyre 2.0

Holly Black’s FOTA series is not bad actually, the series has got more taste, Jude and Cardan are actually not toxic, their relationship is pretty good, even if they may have had a pretty rough first impression, but their development is pretty good (better than Feysand anyways. Tf is their development). Like I’ve not fully finished the series but I read Cardan’s letters and they are so sweet, that’s the content I want, not big wingspans.

Plus there was a realistic element to Jude as well, she was mortal and she was constantly seen as inferior because of something she couldn’t control, she was strong but in the end she won and she never stripped herself of her true identity. Whereas, the ACOTAR series has these lesser and higher faes...

oh, completely agree on the folk of the air series being superior!! on it being good!! 💖💖💖

my main gripes are with the first book, and, to be fair, my problems with the series are minor and inconsequential in the big scheme of things. jude is my favorite bad bee. cardan is the blueprint for malewives worldwide.

as someone who has read tog too (i know, i know: when will i learn?? when will i learn? that my actions have consequences?!!), you’re not missing out on much. aelin is an overpowered mary sue and by the time you finally start to like her, s/jmaas strips her of her powers (which were pretty cool) so she can settle down and have kids with her mate. i know it sounds weirdly familiar. wherever else might we have read such a story?? twice?? because one sister wasn’t enough??

Descrizione

Il suo letto è quello al centro, rigorosamente vicino a quello di Eileen da cinque anni ormai. E' sempre ben fatto, la coperta senza pieghe e, di tanto in tanto, qualche copia della Voce o dell'Eco appena usciti.

Il comodino accanto al baldacchino è sempre pieno di pergamene vuote e non, libri sistematicamente ordinati in ordine d'altezza e le solite candele profumate sulle tonalità del blu. In più la fota che la ritrae con Bianca di qualche anno fa.

Nel primo cassetto si trovano tutte le lettere che scambia con le persone e che non butta mai. Nel secondo invece si trovano tutti i gingilli che usa per acconciarsi i capelli rinchiusi all'interno di un portagioie rosa cipria.

Ai piedi del letto il baule nero contiene tutti i suoi vestiti piegati ordinatamente, i prodotti Utopia, alcuni vecchi libri e copie vecchie dei giornali a cui è abbonata. In più, sul fondo, una sciarpa Tassorosso che non viene tirata fuori da un po'.

Qualche volta preferisce lasciare la divisa delle cheers ripiegata sopra il baule chiuso, soprattutto nei giorni che precedono gli allenamenti.

Abitudini:

Continua a storcere il naso verso quelli che oziano la mattina al letto, lei preferisce di gran lunga dedicarsi alle sue corse mattutine e non solo durante la settimana.

Non le dispiace affatto indossare la divisa quindi non è strano trovarla in giro per la Sala Comune con indosso quella anche dopo l'orario di lezione e quello di cena.

La sera le piace chiacchierare con le compagne di dormitorio e/o starsene al calduccio del camino con un bel libro, una chiacchiera o una partita a scacchi.

La routine della sera è sempre la stessa: spazzolarsi i capelli, riempirsi di creme Utopia e spegnere le candele.

Ordinato:

Tutto è estremamente ordinato.

Puzza:

Il suo letto è costantemente avvolto dall'odore che emanano le sue candele profumate, solitamente si tratta di vaniglia.

Three months ago I subscribed to the glossy box, subscription service. Including P&P, it is €19 a month to have the box shipped to where I live, in Dublin.

Im sorry it took me so long to post this! My box arrived abour 2 and a half weeks ago! I actually got my college results and found that I had failed a very important exam and I needed to repeat it, so I focused on the exam over everything else!

They changed the design of this months box to mark the beginning of summer! Its a gorgeous coral pink with “Hello Summer” written in beautiful golden letters.

I didnt notice the piece of grass to the left of the box when I was taking the photo and its really annoying me now!

I have to say, Glossybox have aced every box since I have subscribed! This months included Lipstick, Hair Bobbins, Aftersun Lotion, a Makeup Brush and a Banana Setting powder. Im excited to try each of these products in the next month.

  Banana Setting Powder

The first product I looked at when I opened the box was the “Banana Setting Powder”. The setting powder is from “Bellapierre Cosmetics”. If any of you have read my two previous blogs, one on “My Skincare Routine” and the other “How I Cleared My Acne” you will see that I only use one range of skincare products and they all come from Biofresh Skincare.

Bellapierre is also the only makeup that I will use on my face. This makeup includes primer, foundation, concealor, contour, highlight, etc. As you can imagine I was very very excited about this product in the box. I already have a “Banana Setting Powder” in my makeup collection, so I knew it worked for me too! Now I know when I run out of the product I already have, I have a new one in my makeup collectiong to use.

Lipstick

The lipstick in this months box is by “Catrice” in the shade ***** The lipstick is a beautiful dark nude colour, with a creamy consistancy. I wore this yesterday when I went to Fota Wildlife Park with my boyfriend Killian, and I found that it didnt last long. To be fair, when we arrived the first thing we did was get a sandwich so it didnt stand much of a chance, but after that I still had to re-apply it a few times throughout the day. None the less, its a beautiful creamy shade, and it doesnt dry out my lips.

Fan Brush

The next item in the box is the “Spectrum Fan Brush”. It is a small colourful brush used to apply highlight to the cheekbones and other areas of the face. Again i used this yesterday to apply my highlight also, It applied the highlight perfectly and evenly, but I found that it struggled to pick up product, depending on the highlight that was being used.  When it did pick up the product though, it applied it evenly to the skin.

Aftersun Lotion

This product I have not used yet. It is an aftersun cream/lotion that contains Vitamin E, Aleo Vera and Shea Butter. Ive used a small amount of my hand to feel its consistancy, and it feels very moisturising and creaming. I got a little burnt the other day while in Cork, so I will happily use it when I’m home this evening.

Bobbins

I have not used these bobbins yet, but I have used some like it before and they worked perfectly! My hair is notorious for having kinks in it after having it tied up! Im looking forward to seeing if these bobbins do as they say!
