Absolutely gutted today after waking up to find Murdock had crossed the rainbow bridge. This guy won over our hearts and became another foster fail along with his brother Foggy. He was the happiest lil (big) ratto ever. After Curtis, he was definitely my husband’s heart rat too. Always giving kisses and so excited to pop his little head out of the igloos and waddle his way to the door. Every time he heard the treat bag crinkle he practically threw himself over the edge of the Bass pans to reach for his snacks. He loved sitting on Chris’s shoulder and making an appearance while he games with friends. Rest in peace mister fearless daredevil. “Layla” This girl, Layla. I decided to foster her until she found her forever home. I didn’t realize that first night I brought her home that I was bringing her to her forever home. This sweet baby doesn’t leave my side. She sits by my feet like this waiting for me to pick her up or go sit somewhere that she can snuggle up against me. She actually cries for awhile after I leave the house. I’m pretty sure she picked me 🐾❤️🐶🐾 Taos, New Mexico I feel so at peace when I have my camera in hand and can capture all the spaces in the world that I come upon. Photography allows you to document the presence of nature but also all the man-made disturbances that humans have left behind. Wait an hour or so and he'll do it again. Sometimes to the same chihuahua sometimes to the other one. He also tried it with my former roommate's fosterfail chihuahua when they visited for my birthday with equally negative feedback. I've been informed that his sister who lives with a ferret also favors exactly this interaction and the ferret is equally unamused.

So for the passed 2 months I’ve been busy with Hurricane Sally kittens! 😻 I am a huge Foster Failure! Meet our new kitties… Kazu, Romeo, Quincy & Forrest! Yes, all 4 are Boys💙 We also caught their mom “Mama Moo Moo” and had her spayed, vaccinated & ear-tipped. She is extremely wild & is now a cared for community cat in my neighborhood. I’m going to post a bunch of pics of the boys also I’m not allowed to foster kittens anymore 😹💙💙💙💙

Another two very happy belated birthdays to two of my favorite bad kitties, Cayenne and T'Challa! Happy National Dog Day! For those who don’t know Kobe’s story, she was found by my sister @slind88 and my nephew under the bleachers of a football game. She was in a box from two other rejects from her litter with the words “Don’t Want, Please Take, Part Lab” written on the box. She was just 5.5 lbs and would have died had she been left alone. Another family took her two brothers and it was just Kobe left. We took her home with the intention to foster her until we could find her a forever home. Needless to say, we were #fosterfails and ended up falling completely in love. After a few weeks, we noticed Kobe had trouble opening her eyes. We also learned through genetic testing of her brothers that Kobe was a full quarter pure wolf. Knowing this, it’s likely that Kobe is the result of an irresponsible wolf-hybrid breeder. Wolf-hybrids have become popular “exotic pets” for people to show off, without real understanding of their needs, which leads to abandonment. They are often inbred, which leads to problems like Kobe’s including inverted eyelids and dew claws. Inverted eyelids are basically when your eyelids flip into your eyes instead of out. If you’ve ever known how irritating one eyelash in your eye can be, imagine your entire lid rubbing against your eye ball every second of every day 😣. That was Kobe’s experience. It took three surgeries and lots of patience and love to correct. Kobe has socialization issues, probably due to her natural senses and also her inability to fully see during the first three years of her life. Despite her challenges, she is full of love, finds pure happiness with just a 🎾 and a belly rub, and is the best big sister to my nephew one could ask her. She has followed him around since she was a puppy and still does even though he now towers over her.
