Merci beaucoup pour ce petit mot qui me fait chaud au coeur, c'est jamais évident de travailler solo sur un forum et j'avoue que je me démotive vite en pensant que ça ne va pas plaire :( mais pour le moment je tiens le cape alors on est bon ! Pour les références j'en ai pas choisit spécialement une, je pense que j'écris beaucoup par rapport à tout ce que j'ai pu lire/voir au fil des années et que le tout se mélange. Les Etheria seront toutes des créatures de tous les folklores qui existent, uniquement les Etheria ailés pourront être liés à des cavaliers (j'expliquerais ça dans une annexe) par exemple avec les dragons. Je pars du principe qu'il pourra avoir plusieurs types de dragons (selon les folklores que les joueurs ont envie d’appréhender !)

On m'a fait remarqué que les académies pouvaient être inspirés par les Winx, ce qui a sans doute été le cas comme dit plus haut mon cerveau à mélanger pleins de références ! L'aspect militaire, cavalier est inspiré de Fourth Wing (/!\ je ne cautionne et ne soutient pas l'autrice bien pour cela que je ne fais pas un forum centré sur l'univers). De l'inspiration aussi dans des mondes type House of Dragons aussi ! Les alchimistes j'ai pensé a un jeu qui s'appelle A Plague Tale et j'ai rajouté l'aspect création d’artéfacts en pensant à ce que pourrait faire les nains/elfes dans LOTR par exemple. En écrivant ce poste, je me dis qu'ils pourraient aussi avoir des inspirations Eragon aussi avec le lien entre Etheria et cavalier ! Pour les élémentaristes la magie globale comme elle est utilisée en général dans les livres, petite pensé pour l'univers Grisha avec l'ajout de la lumière et l'obscurité comme éléments primordiaux ♥

J'espère que ce poste aura pu répondre à ta question, je me suis creusé la tête pour essayer de démêlé et retrouver les inspirations que j'avais pu avoir en subconscient !

Attack on Titan - Timeline

The S4 and manga ending timeline, and answers to my most frequently asked questions. I don't know why I keep tripping over this.

(anime spoilers, full manga spoilers)

-Eren inherits the Attack and Founding Titan, knows nothing.

-Eren is touched by Historia and sees Grisha's half-memories of eating the Reiss family.

-Eren reaches the basement, gets a selection of Grisha's memories from his Marley life and his conversation with Kruger, learns about the 13-year-rule and the living conditions in Marley.

-Eren kisses Historia's hand and unlocks Grisha's memories of the future (curated for him by future Eren, for past Eren to see), specifically that Eren initiates a Rumbling that ends the Titans and that he is stopped at 80%; not how, nor why. It's just glimpses, no context. He does not know most things. He (arguably) doesn't know about Sasha's death, Marley's early attack, Pieck's lil' game, that Zeke actually screams, that Ymir is in the paths, Ymir's backstory, that he has to win Ymir over. He knows he manipulates Grisha, doesn't know how he got there, probably knows he's there with Zeke. It messes with his head and gradually makes him more distant and depressed.

-Yelena comes to Paradis with Zeke's fake plan for a partial Rumbling.

-The alternatives to Eren’s Rumbling fail. Eren does not want Historia to be sacrificed, and does not want the partial Rumbling because it will maintain the cycle of the Titans. Diplomatic talks with Hizuru fail.

-Eren is approached by Yelena ten months before the S4 present time and confides to Eren her own and Zeke's wine-and-euthanasia plan. Eren plays along because there's no telling what they'd do if he said no, and he also needs the royal blood for his own plans.

-Some time later, the Scouts travel to Marley hoping for peace talks. Eren saves Ramzi and cries. Mikasa finds Eren crying. Eren low-key allows for a final alternative, for him to run away with Mikasa, but she family-zones him. The 104th Scouts spend a splendid night with the immigrants.

-In the international forum in Marley it is confirmed that Eldians see the Paradis’ Eldians as the ultimate enemy. Eren commits to the Rumbling, finding no alternative to his desires of the end of the Titans, his friends’ living long lives, the safety of Paradis and his freedom boner. He knows he'll be considered a monster and that he will *be* a monster. He decides to push his friends away to a) not drag them in his monstrous/villainous mess, b) ensure to the best of his ability that they'll survive, c) push them to stop him, thereby making them the heroes to his villain and giving them a chance to forge a peaceful life with what remains of humanity. He does not care about Zeke, Yelena, or the Yeagerists and their views, only uses them as tools.

-Eren leaves the Survey Corps after the international forum. He infiltrates Fort Slava, goes to Marley as a POW, stays there for at least a month. Presumably he's been missing for 2-3 months out of the 10 months he's been acting strange since meeting Yelena. 

-Eren meets Zeke in Marley as per the plan, makes the fake deal, attacks during Marley's/the world's declaration of war, shows the might of Paradis, gets the Warhammer Titan, acquires Zeke. He thinks this will delay the Marley attack. It does not.

-Eren meets Ymir in the paths, convinces her to give him the Founding Titan power, becomes omniscient.

-Eren initiates the Rumbling and then spends his time, 1) being catatonic because guilt and depression, 2) enjoying the freedom and destruction he wanted as a child, in his child form possibly to make this easier to deal with and because it represents what he's wanted all along, 3) chilling in the paths with his homies and explaining everything because he's not actually a child, but a complicated 19-year-old young man, 4) living the life in Switzerland with Mikasa for what feels like four years or for four actual years. He does not know what Mikasa will do next, only that it’s the culmination of the path to his plan (although he can surmise that someone, if not Mikasa, kills him). He was never beholden to fate; fate was beholden to him, as this was always the outcome of his own choices.

-Eren sleeps in Switzerland, Mikasa beheads him with a kiss. The plan is complete, Ymir is pleased, she passes away, the Titans cease to exist.

Ymir and EMA:

-Eren appeals to Ymir's sense of freedom that she never had. He sets her free from being a slave to anyone with royal blood, so she chooses to grant him the right to use the Founding Titan (but he still needs Zeke's royal blood to do it). Eren's Rumbling complies with her own King's wishes for the Titans to rule, so she creates the past Titans to fight the Alliance.

-Armin appeals to Ymir's need to connect. Armin understands that Ymir "wants something from us." Armin managing to sway Zeke's nihilism through finding meaning in precious trivial moments shows Ymir what life is about, and so she allows the Alliance to make their stand.

-Mikasa appeals to Ymir's everything. Both were victims of trauma, were saved/"saved" by their man, and both need to let go. Through Mikasa, Ymir sees true love, the love that she and Eren have which is strong and pure and not abusive like hers with the King, and that you can truly love someone who even loves you back and still let them go.

depuis combien de temps fais-tu du rp? — j'ai un peu du mal à compter et établir une durée parce que j'ai une mauvaise mémoire, mais je dirais une dizaine d'années... et seulement 5 ans sur forum.

quel était le premier personnage que tu as créé? — le tout premier je ne m'en souviens plus du tout, c'était sur une simulation de vie mais en rp, bref. mon premier perso sur un forum c'était Elvira quelque-chose (faut pas me demander de me souvenir des noms de famille...) et c'était une chasseuse de vampires !

quels sont les faceclaims que tu utilisais souvent à tes débuts? — j'aimais beaucoup nina dobrev (la faute à tvd), puis mila kunis, bella hadid et zendaya. parce que oui, je jouais que des femmes à l'époque.

y a-t-il un genre/univers dans lequel tu n'aimes pas du tout rp? — les univers post-apocalyptiques (ça dépend en réalité du contexte, je suis certaine que certains peuvent être géniaux) et dès qu'il y a des zombies. ça, c'est vraiment un gros non pour moi, ça ne m'attire pas du tout (mais j'ai eu le courage d'essayer pour faire plaisir à un ancien partenaire, je n'ai même pas fini ma fiche de présentation). et harry potter, pour des raisons évidentes de boycott de l'autrice.

quelles sont les dynamiques entre personnages/types de liens que tu aimes le plus? — comment me détacher du enemies to lovers qui hantent mes nuits et mes journées. je suis très fan de ce lien, de cette incompréhension initiale entre les deux, puis du moment où ils réalisent que finalement, de la haine à l'amour il n'y a qu'un pas, et l'acception de leurs défauts mutuels. j'aime aussi beaucoup les familles brisées, avec des liens complexes où l'amour se mêle à la frustration et la rancoeur. et plus globalement, tous les liens nuancés.

dans quels fandoms ou univers aimes-tu le plus rp? — je suis plutôt team réel. j'adore la fantasy, mais j'ai souvent du mal à y rester et à évoluer parce que ce sont des contextes qui me demandent plus d'énergie pour me plonger dans le personnage et les détails de l'univers. cependant si je devais choisir un fandom, ça sera shadow and bone parce que j'ai vraiment adoré la série et que je reste fan des grishas.

un personnage que tu ne joues plus actuellement mais que tu aimerais reprendre? — reprendre pas forcément parce qu'une fois que je mets les personnages au placard, ils y restent... mais j'ai adoré jouer un personnage bipolaire inspirée de rue dans euphoria, elle était chaotique et authentique. je ne m'ennuyais jamais, ni en rp, ni en sms. elle était parfaite dans son imperfection.

y a-t-il des archétypes de personnages que tu joues souvent? — je sais pas trop, je ne pense pas. en général, j'essaye toujours de varier les plaisirs parce que je n'aime pas avoir des personnalités trop proches les uns des autres, auquel cas je me mélange les pinceaux. donc au final, j'essaye toujours de trouver des archétypes différents.

y a-t-il un livre ou un écrit autre qui t'as beaucoup influencé·e pour écrire? — au tout début de mon aventure rpgique, j'ai lu beaucoup de despentes et sa plume m'a beaucoup aidée à façonner la mienne. même si je l'ai perdu pendant ma pause avant de rejoindre les forums. pour les personnages, en général, je m'inspire surtout des séries, des films, et des musiques qui m'entourent. parfois des livres aussi, mais c'est curieusement plus rare.

une recommandation pour finir (livre, film, ou pourquoi pas un forum)? — j'ai récemment lu Blue sisters de Coco Mellors, et bien que j'ai trouvé le livre un peu long (les chapitres sont interminables), j'ai beaucoup aimé découvrir ces trois soeurs en prise avec l'addiction. j'ai trouvé leur histoire et leur combat vraiment touchants !

ONE. Be courteous and respectful. It’s the first rule on any site, and it’s the one who hold most dear. The basis of all interactions between members is expected to be the principle of treating others as you want to be treated. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and discrimination. Roleplaying requires the segregation of IC and OOC motivations and interactions. Our primary goal is to create an inclusive and interactive forum for writers that is built upon mutual respect and a deep enjoyment of this fandom. We ask that you treat others with respect-- and do not hesitate to contact a staff member should conflict or mistreatment arise. TWO. Grisha Steel is a mature, literate roleplay. Members of Grisha Steel are required to be at least eighteen years old. If a member is found to be in violation of this rule, they will be permanently banned. This site has a 3/3/3 rpg rating. This means swearing and mature language are permitted. Sexual content may be described in detail and explicit violence is permitted. THREE. Make use of appropriate warning labels. While the site does have a 3/3/3 rating, if you are writing or mentioning topics that may be triggering or not safe for work, we do require trigger, content, or mature warnings be included. Playable Etherealki subsets include Sun Summoning and Shadow Summoning. However, this ability must be acquired via our site store. Acceptance of characters with these abilities requires consistent activity. Each writer is limited to only one character with this rare ability.

The Shadow Fold exists. It was not created The Black Heretic as such a person never existed in this universe. However, it was formed through Merzost.

The Universe stands in balance. With the emergence of Shadow Summoners came their counterparts: Sun Summoners. More about the first pair of Sun and Shadow Summoners can be learned about in our site lore.

Due to the site having a 3/3/3 rating, we have elected to limit the age of playable characters currently studying at the Little Palace. Though Grisha begin their studies in Os Alta in adolescence (most before the age of 8), no minor characters will be accepted. The youngest age for any playable character is 18.

FIVE. Face claims are required for each character.

Celebrities who have requested to not be used for roleplaying will not be accepted. We ask all members to not use an individual has been accused of predatory or abusive behavior. Staff reserves the right to reject any face deem inappropriate.

18+ Face claims must be over 18 years old. No underaged faces are permitted.

+/-5 Your chosen face must be no more than five years older or younger than your character.

We require a face claim that is a living actor, signed model, or musician.

For example, if your character is 23, their face must be between 18 and 28 years old. If your character is 18, their face must be between 18 and 23. Current age of the celebrity is used in this evaluation.

SIX. Diversity is a core tenet of Grisha Steel.

We heavily encourage diversity on site. However, there are specific countries within the universe that if your character is from there, we ask that you be mindful of regional demographics as outlined below:

Shu Han natives are encouraged to be portrayed by faces of Asian descent. We have elected that the Northern portion of Shu Han is Mongollian, the Central portion Chinese, and the Southern portion Japanese. The Western Coast aligned with Filipino culture, and the Eastern Coast is Korean.

Noyvi Zem natives are encouraged to be portrayed by faces of African or Middle Eastern descent. On Grisha Steel, the lower half of Noyvi Zem is predominantly Turkish, Iranian, Pakistani, and, at the most Northern tip located closer to the Southern Colonies, Israeli. The upper half of Noyvi Zem predominantly draws from Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, and Mali.

Natives of the Southern Colonies should be portrayed by Latinx faces. While this region is not touched on in any currently published books, it is seen on the maps. We have chosen to model this region after Latin American countries, such as Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.

The Suli people are described in the universe as being similar to the Romani people, with influences from South Asia. Predominantly, we ask that you use faces of Romani, or Indian descent for these characters.

SEVEN. Character creation limits.

Your first three characters are free. However, from there, we ask that you have at minimum 20 posts on each account prior to the creation of additional characters. Writers are permitted five characters, but may buy more characters slots via the site store. This limit has been instated to encouraged a focus on character development.

EIGHT. Activity requirements and checks.

Character activity will be checked at the end of each month. This will be done automatically without any additional action required by writers. If you miss posting in character for the entire month, you will be messaged on site and via Discord by a staff prompting you to post within two weeks of receiving that message. If you fail to post two weeks after receiving an activity message and are not on an absence we will automatically archive your character and release associated claims.

We hold 2 major activity checks per year in March and September. During this time, we will require you update your character profiles to reflect development since their creation or the last activity check. Regular profile updates are encouraged to make this easier on writers!

NINE. Graphics

When completely a character profile, three images are required. Sizes are outlined below.We will be providing two sets of sizes, one larger, and one true to size. We recommend going larger, as some people have larger optics.

Avatar: Minimum 220x500, Recommended 440x1000

Square Aesthetic Images: Minimum 100x100, Recommended 250+x250+

TEN. Non-Grisha Characters

Non-grisha characters are permitted. These characters may be anything from First Army, to Drüskelle, to gangsters in Ketterdam and more. Please remain mindful of the Grisha-verse and site canon for these characters in building their backstories. The Shu Han have queens. Fjerdans worship Djel and other gods that are distinct and different than those worshipped in Ravka.

Why are you even going to titanfolks everything I hear about it sounds exhausting and not worth it

I was looking for a place to talk about snk. I was hoping for a place where people could talk about the all story, share different POV. On Twitter you can’t really have this : just a few words, people are just spreadind their hate and flee. On YouTube they only put down their comment and desappear ; on Tumblr we’re are sharing our feelings, arts (that’s how I feel it). I thought a forum would be a great idea. Turn out it was just a place of fanatics (most but not all, sometimes you can read very interesting theory) ; most of them wishing for the rumbling; most of them are sure that Eren is the father (note I don’t even know if they’re right or not. None of us do) and I could keep go on. What sadden me the most is that we failed to talk about the most interesting thing in SNK : feelings.

We all noticed that this story begins because of hate. Eren hates : his mother was killed he swears he would kill; Grisha hates; Gabi hates etc.

But everyone failed to see that love is also there. We saw with Hitch, we saw it with Grisha, Mikasa, Eren. The opposite side of hate is indifference not Love. Love and Hate are familiar. If Eren can do one he can do the other. He is not a rumbling freak. Many of them saw it as God almighty... and many don’t even want to reflect on it. Sad ...

At least sometimes they make funny jokes and often relase leaks. You can’t take that away from them.

Analyzing and theorizing about Shingeki no Kyojin

I can not avoid comparing the happenings of Shingeki no Kyojin with historical events, from the Roman Empire to World War II. In addition, the mythological content of the work also leads to a comparison with the beliefs of Classical Antiquity. At this point, I would like to talk about Ymir Fritz; However, before that... I need to tell you about the Roman Empire, specifically about its founding myth and what really happened.

Who has not heard of Romulus and Remus. The two brothers who started it all. The myth considers them children of Mars (the Greek Ares), god of war, who engendered them in Rhea Silvia. She was the daughter of Numitor, king of Alba Longa who had been overthrown by his brother Amulius. The mother had to abandon them, but the children were saved by Luperca, a wolf who suckled them. Then they were found and raised by a couple of pastors. The brothers discovered the nobility of their lineage and went to return Alba Longa to his grandfather Numitor.

They succeeded, but both wanted a city of their own. Then they had their differences. Romulus wished to build the city on the Palatine Hill, while Remus preferred the Aventine Hill. The only solution was to count vultures: Remo saw six, while Romulus saw twelve. The winner traced the limits of his city and assured that he would kill anyone who crossed them. Guess what? Remus was emboldened, entered the territory of his brother and Romulo fulfilled his word, becoming a fratricide.

That is the founding myth of Rome. Therefore, it does not correspond to reality. However, in Shingeki it could be. I explain. And if we mix myth with reality? Okay, let's say that Ymir has a divine origin, being a descendant of a deity. Well, what do we do with her people, the Erdians? The true origin of Rome is not found in a fraternal discussion; although it still is not clear,  everything points to this glorious civilization was the result of the union of different peoples, Latins, Sabines, Etruscans (being these the most advanced), etc, which were fighting each other. Romulus, as the first king, promulgated common laws and customs. Roman laws and customs. Maybe Ymir Fritz saw himself in the same situation: a potpourrí of people who did not understand each other, who were enemies or who had been enemies, but who were under the charge of the same person. At this point, Ymir would do the same as Romulo and create a common culture with characteristics of each nation.

The Romans contributed much to architecture, art, politics and all areas of life. They built bridges, forums, basilicas, circuses, etc. They were practical people who sought the public utility of their buildings. Does not this remind you of what Grisha Jaeger said about Ymir and her people? Grisha was convinced that Ymir built bridges, sowed the fields, etc; in general, Jaeger believed that Ymir Fritz made mankind prosper, just as the Romans did.

I do not doubt that the Erdians behaved brutally with the Marleyans, but we all know that no nation has conquered another with kisses and roses. The Marleyans could only see the pain of their homeland, but NOT the great advances that Ymir had promoted. They were blind with hatred and resentment (something that is understandable, because no one wants to be conquered) and they gave their truth to the world: YMIR HAD COVENANTED WITH THE DEMON AND SUMMARED THE WORLD IN A DARK AGE.

We can not blame them. After all, the god of the enemy is our enemy, our devil.

But Marleyans are not saints either. The old wars DO NOT justify confining the Erdians in ghettos and using them as cannon fodder. Because those Erdians are innocent. If someone in the fandom is able to justify Erdian segregation, that person has a problem. Think, for example, of the Germans. Yes, the Nazis did a lot of damage and ended up with millions of people, BUT THAT DOES NOT WANT TO SAY THAT THE CURRENT GERMANS MUST PAY FOR THEIR CRIMES. That's why the Nuremberg trials were held.

There are no guilty or villains or a dark side in SNK: only revenge, resentment and ambition. The past is just an excuse, the veracity of the facts is not important. Marleyans and Erdians need a reason to hate each other and have the best. As I see it, there are only three solutions to this millennial conflict.

a. Peace. Each side should recognize their mistakes, leave their weapons and dialogue.

b. May the best win. The problems between Erdia and Marley are irreconcilable and the war will end when one country destroys the other.

c. The bilateral catastrophe. Both nations are destroyed by a third country or by an alliance.

I am inclined to the last two options. I think Erdia will beat Marley, but ... that's just the tip of the iceberg. After Eren attacked Liberio, where an international summit was held with ambassadors from all over the globe, the whole world is against Erdia. Okay, maybe Eren will finish Marley. Certainly, it seems that the Marleyans are betting everything in the invasion of the current arc of the manga. They need to put an end to the Erdians of the walls and, above all, they need the power of the TITAN FOUNDER to preserve the military hegemony. I think of the Ardennes Counteroffensive, Hitler's last attack on the allies, which failed. However, both the Nazis and the Allies suffered a large number of casualties: Germany suffered 83,000 casualties among the dead and wounded, and the Allies suffered a total of 102,576 casualties. The Allies lost much more because the German Army was superior and, despite this, they won. I think the Erdians will win thanks to the power of the Titans, thanks to the RUMBLING, because the Marleyan troops are clearly superior.

Recently it was revealed an audio that contained the end of the work. The din of a battle ... the battle against the world? This is very ironic and twisted on the part of the Master Isayama. The fall of the walls has always been a symbol of freedom and union. The fall of the Berlin Wall was a big step towards the end of the Cold War. Nevertheless, the fall of Maria, Rose and Sina would suppose the liberation of the colossal titans, that is to say, the activation of the rumble of the earth. Here we come to the man who will decide the destiny of humanity: Eren Jaeger.

We still do not know what happens in the head of our suicidal bastard (in fact, his vital state is also doubtful), but I dare say he will do the following:

However, he would no longer do it for revenge or hatred, but for the common good. That would be a way to redeem the character.

How would Eren get rid of the colossal? Well, it's simple ... THE OCEAN. It is well known that the titans do not approach the water and the ocean could be a good tomb for the giants of fifty meters. In our world, the deepest part of the ocean is in the Mariana Trench, 10,000 meters deep. Imagine our Eren commanding those moles towards the unfathomable depths. The sea symbolizes life because everything started in the water, but it also refers to death in a more poetic sense (in the work of Antonio Machado it is very frequent) because all the rivers (the lives) flow into the sea (the death). In addition, the importance of the ocean in Shingeki no Kyojin is already made clear in the first chapters, when Armin dreams of reaching it.

Does this mean that Eren supports Zeke's plan? No, I do not think Eren intends to sterilize his people. I never believed it, especially when the supposed final panel of the manga was unveiled. I believe without doubt that the baby is Erdian; Son of a protagonist? I don’t know, but I do Erdian. And the dialogue, that "you are free", would mean that the coming generations are free of the legacy of Ymir, of the titans, of the terrible past ... and of the titan shifters.

Things as they are: as long as there are titan shifters, there will be war to control them. How do we get rid of them without any baby inheriting it? Well, I'll leave that to Isayama 😊

Suppose that the Titans are truly exterminated, then how will Paradis defend itself from its numerous enemies? Even if Hizuru helped them, the Erdians would lose. They would have two options: peace or destruction. This would be a good time for Armin. After all, Eren himself said that Armin would save humanity, and not him.
