May her memory be a blessing.
President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he was attending the funeral of his late elder sister, Maryanne Trump Barry.
The president wrote on Truth Social, “Funeral Now. I Love Maryanne. God Bless You. Rest In Peace!”
His comments were attached to an earlier tribute that the president wrote about his late sister this week, shortly after she passed away.
Ms. Barry was a retired and respected federal judge who was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to a New Jersey court and later, nominated by President Bill Clinton as a senior judge for the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, RSBN previously reported.
The president wrote of his sister this week, “I will never forget the many times people would come up to me and say, ‘Your sister was the smartest person on the Court.’ I was always honored by that, but understood exactly what they meant—They were right! She was a great Judge, and a great sister. She will be truly missed!”
On Monday, multiple outlets reported that Ms. Barry had passed away at the age of 86, after being preceded in death by her younger brother, Robert Trump. Robert passed away in 2020, while President Trump was serving his first term in the White House.
President Trump also suffered the loss of his late ex-wife, Ivana, the mother of Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump, in 2022.
Trump described Maryanne as a “truly beautiful woman, tall and elegant, with a presence like no other…”
The president’s attendance at his sister’s funeral on Friday comes just before a busy weekend on the campaign trail. He is scheduled to travel to Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Saturday, for a Team Trump Iowa Commit to Caucus Event. He will also travel to Texas on Sunday, where he will serve meals to Department of Public Safety troopers and Texas National Guardsmen in Edinburg.

Former President Donald Trump is set to campaign in Fort Dodge, Iowa, emphasizing his push to gather support ahead of the state's caucuses on Jan. 15. This marks his sixth visit to Iowa since late September, showcasing a strategy to prioritize organization and engage with voters more actively than in previous elections. Trump criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a rival in the polls, on a radio show, alleging poor performance despite winning the endorsement of Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds. Trump aims to build a robust network of staff and volunteers for the 2024 election, contrasting with his 2016 approach. #Election2024 #TrumpCampaignsIowa

https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2023/11/19/donald-trump-insults-vulgarities-republicans/
Trump swooped into Iowa for his own event — where he lobbed insults, made crude references and casually tossed out baseless and false claims designed to belittle his opponents and critics in vicious terms. Children wandered around in shirts and hats with the letters “FJB,” an abbreviation for an obscene jab at President Biden that other merchandise spelled out: “F--- Biden.”
During his speech inside a high school gym in Fort Dodge, former president Trump called one GOP rival a “son of a b----,” referred to another as “birdbrain” and had the crowd shrieking with laughter at his comments on Rep. Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), who he called “pencil neck” before asking, “How does he hold up that fat, ugly face?” He brought the house down while mocking Biden, at one point baselessly suggesting Biden is using drugs and can’t get offstage “by the time whatever it is he’s taken wears off.”
One of Trump’s introductory speakers from the Iowa state legislature declared anyone who kneels for the national anthem is a “disrespectful little s---,” quickly drawing a roaring response. And outside the packed venue, vulgar slogans about Biden and Vice President Harris were splashed across T-shirts: “Biden Loves Minors.” “Joe and the Ho Gotta Go!” One referred to Biden and Harris performing sexual acts.
Trump’s coarseness and cruelty have come to define the Republican Party since his rise to the presidency — and many GOP voters relish and emulate the approach, while others tolerate it. The split-screen on display in Iowa on Friday and Saturday highlighted one of the defining dynamics in the Republican race, in which Trump is the dominant polling leader overshadowing a roster of candidates running more traditional campaigns.
Offered the chance to support other presidential hopefuls who champion similar agenda to Trump in a less abrasive package, Republicans are for now sticking with the former president — underscoring how his personality and shattering of behavioral norms have long been a major part of his appeal. Conservative evangelicals influential in Iowa — the first state in the GOP nominating calendar — have previously set aside some distaste for Trump’s personal behavior as he took up their causes, including appointing antiabortion judges to the Supreme Court, and next year’s caucuses will test whether anything has shifted.

Marvin Dorwart Cone (1891 – 1965) American painter in the regionalist style.
Cone was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Washington High School in 1910. Cone attended college and traveled to Paris with his contemporary and high-school friend, Grant Wood.[2] After his return to the United States, Cone helped to found the Stone City Art Colony.
