It was an ancient tale treated as bogus by almost all of monster kind. Thatch had completely forgotten about that myth - well, he couldn’t call it a myth anymore, could he?

Extension to the entomology ask, SO is freaking out because they lost one of their tarantulas, they aren't worried that their tarantula might scare someone, more they're scared of Doomfanger finding their baby first!!!

Just as they find their baby, Doomfanger comes running along, trying to get to their tarantula! SO is trying their best to defend their tarantula from the beast while calling for skele!

Just a reminder, the underfell brothers actually have two cats! Doomfanger, our pretty and snobby calico lady, and bones, a super chatty little tuxedo kitten.

Red: he’ll blip right behind you and scoop up the little eight legged bean. Then red will shortcut right to the cage and plop it in. He spends the next few minutes apologizing to a glum doomfanger and confused bones.

Edge: he’ll just pick up doomfanger mid-pounce and distract her with scritches while you save the tarantula. Edge isn’t worried about bones going after the bug. The kitten doesn’t have a hunters bone in his body

And horrorfell doomfanger is a good nineteen years old!! This old lady might still bat at a spider, but she won’t put as much effort in as underfell doomfanger

Rust: his shortcuts aren’t as fast as they used to be, so instead of blipping away with the spider, rust will have to pop besides doomfanger and try to distract her. It’s pretty surprising that she even chased after the spider since this cat is ancient.

Noir: he’ll stop and laugh at your predicament for a moment before he scoops up doomfanger like a baby. The tarantula immediately forgotten, she’ll start purring up a storm just happy to be in her papas arms.

one thing i'm confused about with king is, we know about what it'd take to become close to him and i know why papyrus fans who already know about him would wanna go through the effort, but i'm not sure why a stranger would wanna go through that. like, mal is suave and pyre is charismatic even though they're both prickly, what does king have that'd attract someone who doesn't know him? (aside from good looks but he's not the only hot person in town)

I think the biggest thing to remember about King (Horrorfell Papyrus) is that, in spite of his attempts to act like it, he’s really not a heartless monster.

(He is, in a technical sense, in that he’s a monster who doesn’t have a physical heart--but I mean in the hyperbolic sense!)

He tries not to draw attention to some of his softer, sweeter qualities, but they do exist, and it’s far from impossible that somebody might catch a glimpse of something that might make them reconsider their impression of him as a mean asshole with nothing redeemable to him.

He works as a physical therapist, putting people through their paces without mercy...but there’s always the distinct sense that he’s not just trying to be a slave-driver for the hell of it, he genuinely seems to believe his patients can do what he’s asking them to do; that they will achieve their recovery goals, if they’re willing to commit to it. Lots of people he’s worked with come back to thank him for that, saying that they hated him at the time but now, in retrospect, they don’t know if they’d have gotten the same results with somebody who’d been softer on them, or who didn’t believe in them as much.

He visits public parks often in his downtime, where he can be seen either feeding water fowl or playing chess. When it’s the former, he always has researched and reasonably healthy treats for the ducks and geese and swans-- and if he sees anyone else throwing bread or anything that could be harmful to them, he’ll go a bit out of his way to drop that tidbit on them, just in case they didn’t know. If the latter, he tends to make quiet conversation with his chess opponents, usually old folks who don’t have much else to do or anyone to do it with than come to the park and play chess early in the mornings. He asks after their lives and pets and kids or grandkids and if any need help with their walkers or wheelchairs, he’s gentlemanly enough to assist with neither complaint nor comment.

There’s his brother, too, Brick (Horrorfell Sans), and lots of little things in the way they interact with each other. He taught himself sign for his brother, but avoids using it because he knows Brick is learning slowly and feels bad when King knows more words and can speak much faster than him. He’ll drop anything, of any importance, if Brick is with him and looks even remotely like he might need to get out of there. He keeps an (admittedly very functional and sturdy) prosthetic leg that’s old and scratched and beaten up and hasn’t even considered looking into getting a new one on the Surface because Brick built it for him and that means something.

King is quick with a snippy or harsh comment, but just as quick to realize if it cut deeper than it was meant to and he’ll never touch on that topic again. He has a habit of, however backhandedly, reminding people to eat or drink water because he notices when it’s been awhile and they may have forgotten and could suffer for it. He doesn’t hesitate to insert himself into arguments and altercations, especially ones that look one-sided, to deescalate and ensure that, if at all possible, no one gets hurt.

In short... King cares, a lot, about a lot of people and a lot of things he might wish he didn’t, but he does nevertheless.

He may not be a good man, but he’s not really a bad one either, and all of these things are just little examples of what someone could see in action to realize that maybe they had the wrong idea about the type of person King was... or at least that their picture of him, whatever that picture may be, was incomplete.

It’ll probably never be ‘love at first sight’ or ‘perfect meet cute’ with him, but he’s not unlovable or irredeemable-- a ‘slow burn’ sounds just about right for the way somebody might decide he’s worth the trouble of scaling those emotional walls.

Prized possessions? Horrorfell and Horrorswap boys.

Horrorfell Sans: Spruce’s prized possession is his guitar. Music brings him comfort. He’s never forgotten how to play it and the notes. He still knows a few songs that he plays to comfort not only him but Sycamore too.

Horrorfell Papyrus: Sycamore’s prized possession is his Doomfanger’s collar. Unfortunately, she passed away before reaching the surface, so he holds onto her collar to remember the times she’s comforted him.

Horrorswap Sans: Juniper’s prized possession is his old scarf. It reminds him of the good times. Willow got him that scarf so he carries it around with him, even if it’s not around his neck. And yes, Junior’s prized possession is also his scarf.

Horrorswap Papyrus: Willow’s prized possession is his photo album. Since his memory has gone a bit bad, Juniper and him went through the photo album to add in little captions. Juniper added little notes within the margins which Willow reads time to time even if he’s not having problems with his memories.

It’s time to meet Dusk.

They weren’t supposed to turn on the machine again.

The guys weren’t exactly ones for promises, but after the incident, after the girls had managed to prove how unsafe it was, how unstable-

-they weren’t supposed to. They weren’t supposed to, to drag anyone else into this, to mess up even more timelines, it was a standoff, but it was stable in the meantime, or it should have been-

Someday, you’d meet this Sans, and you’d personally kick his coccyx into next Tuesday, you swore, for this and for everything else-

But right now, chances were looking pretty slim of seeing it to next Tuesday yourself.

“G-guys, it’s okay, really-”

“she’s got you by the fucking throat-!”

“If you fucking hurt her- te arrancó el brazo y lo tiro al mar-!”

You inhaled sharply, tears pricking at your eyes as the hand around your middle squeezed you tighter, your back pressed to a jagged, massive set of ribs, bare but for the massive coat shielding much of them, and draped around your form. The other hand at your throat held no weapon - but it was a weapon, even without the claws that threatened to prick your skin.

But the hand of the enormous skeleton woman holding you wasn’t squeezing your throat. It hadn’t once.

Blood, meanwhile, dripped slow and hot down your leg, staining the dead leaves of the forest floor below.

You wanted to curse your luck - curse the fact that you were on a walk in the woods with the dogs when Alpha’s monitoring programs picked up the subtle fluctuation in space-time that marked that machine being turned on for even an instant. You wanted to curse the fact that you’d tripped on a dumb root, cracking your phone and, apparently, breaking the ringer so you didn’t hear the many calls that came in. You wanted to curse the fact that you’re a magnet for skeletal trouble-

-or you would, if it hadn’t also brought you too much good this past year…But when you’d stumbled across the wounded, massive skeleton now clutching you, your feet dangling more than five feet off the ground, your first thought had been concern as you only saw her back turned to you, and a bear trap big enough to catch a rhinoceros nearly snapping her leg in half-

“Blade, holy shit- are you… are you okay-?”

The massive hole in her skull had been so familiar… but a moment later, you’d realized it was wrong. As was the way her head had snapped around… two massive gold fangs implanted in a mouth overrun with nigh-feral sharp teeth, a jagged red eyelight in the wrong socket, the hole on the wrong side of her head, the scars all wrong, so wrong-

The fear and fury in her face so unfamiliar and dangerous.

And yet… you… you didn’t leave.

You were nearly an hour’s walk away from the house. You shouldn’t have gone alone in the first place, but you had the dogs, far more intelligent than any normal animal, and you’d been cooped up for weeks because of bad weather and-

-and then, slowly, murmuring, crouching low with your hands out in a deference of power, soft nothings and reassurances spilling out of your mouth… you were approaching, circling in a wide berth to her front. Her snarls and growls were so loud you nearly lost your balance in the physicality, but…

… but slowly, while you were out of reach, she began to growl quieter, pain eking out over anything, though not once had she blinked…

A new arrival, you’d known. You’d found out about the machines a long while back now, and… there was no questioning it. But her tibia and fibula were cut almost clean through in a trap you couldn’t help but wonder if was from her world, brought with her - how long had she been out here? What was running through her head?

Why were you risking yourself-

The sound of fire, the feel of your own fear when your old place had crumbled around you… the soul-breaking relief when you’d been rescued, despite the danger…

You steeled yourself, and slowly came closer.

It took several tries - she nearly lunged at you once, when your hand slipped, digging the trap teeth in on her. You apologized, and kept talking- did she even… even speak English? Gods, you had no idea. But the sound of your voice seemed to help, so you kept at it- noticing more and more scars, noticing how terrifyingly dusty the wound was becoming- when you gestured for her to hold the one side to help undo the mechanism, trying to explain, ask for help as it was too strong for you alone-

-she’d done so, her hand larger than your head. Despite the pain, her grip didn’t shake, but you heard her teeth gritting, creaking as they ground down, erratic, unsteady magic charging the air around her-

And at last you’d freed her.

The trap to the side, you’d hurried to look at her removed leg, shedding your hoodie, forgetting to move slow. You missed the flicker in her gaze, pain undeniable in every shadow of her face, the moment of confusion, of hunger, of hesitance, of her reaching towards you-

But you’d looked up then, sweater in your hands, hovering over the horrifying break, an injury you were certain would have killed her otherwise- ready to bind her up.

Her hand had frozen at the level of your throat.

Like a rabbit in the gaze of a wolf, you’d frozen.

The wind rustled the leaves overhead, afternoon sun growing long, dimmer behind gathering clouds.

Her hand slowly came closer.

You didn’t move, a fine tremble in your spine, but- you didn’t look away.

She paused again. Watching. Waiting- your heart was racing, but- you didn’t run. For a thousand reasons, you didn’t run, despite some deeper instinct beyond logic begging at you to.

And then she’d brushed a lock of hair back from your throat, catching a bead of sweat with it, and lingering over your pulse.

Oh so slowly, her pinprick eyelight dilated.

“… y..ou…”

Without warning, a shout in the distance, cutting in as if through a phone line picked up startled you both. The dogs, waiting, tense, worried just a few feet behind you, barked- and all hell had broken loose.

Serif had shortcut into the clearing, her eyelights no sooner landing on you than taking in the massive, dangerous looking skeleton with her hand at your throat. She’d sworn, magic suddenly flaring at her fingertips before, as if desperately wrenching her senses back, it vanished, and she lifted her hands, furious and hiding too much emotion but clearly attempting to look reasonable, to calm down the newcomer.

It was too late.

The sudden appearance, the split second of aggressive magic was enough. The injured skeleton woman was surging forward, enveloping you- before, as if forgotten, her leg gave out with a sickening crunch.

You both fell, and your leg slammed into the hellish, too-jagged bear trap you’d just removed from her leg. The jagged metal and sharpened bone teeth of the closed trap protruding from it cut into your leg and dragged viciously as intertia and gravity took over before she could catch herself, taking the brunt of the fall-

The smell of blood had a visceral effect on the woman holding you, even as your vision was cut off by the ground and her arms and jacket- your scream mingled with a guttural sound, a language glitching and feral- clashing with the sounds of more people arriving, hitting the ground running, swearing, your vision blurring and whiting with pain lancing from your leg straight through you and whiting out your conscious mind for a moment- vertigo as you were suddenly upright-

Now you stared at your friends, leg throbbing, hot blood staining your jeans and shoe, struggling to keep your vision clear and not panic. She was cornered - you were too, you supposed, in her arms. Her leg was… it wasn’t right. You couldn’t quite see it when you glanced down, and that was… a problem. She seemed to be propped against a tree, against a steep hill that was nearly cliff- staring down, chest heaving at Serif, Scarlet, Crimson, Sapphire, and Cinnamon. You had no idea where the others were. There was no time to spare to think about it - or how they’d found you at all-

“P-please, I think she’s just scared, I think she’s feeling my pulse, s-since- I’m hurt-”

“doesn’t mean she gets t'hold you hostage,” Cinnamon’s low voice was a drawl, but her stance was one you’d only seen once or twice. Ready, ready in a way that would set your internal alarms off if they weren’t already pealing.

“Come now, let’s… let’s just take it easy,” Sapphire’s voice was measured, even almost warm - her eyelights were steady, and she was the only one who didn’t visibly appear to be a moment’s away from a fighting stance. Still, her voice was almost too measured. You knew her too well to miss it. Nonetheless, she met your gaze, and her chest took a steady inhale, then slow exhale, ever so minutely.

You blinked, tears threatening to spill at the silent message to breathe, that she’d stay calm too, she’d try and de-escalate-

The rough, static-like inflection of the woman’s speech behind you twisted and rumbled, short, dark, aggressive-

A huff of air tickled your hair, and you felt her… her head, dip down to the back of yours. It cut through the pain, almost tingling with a wild sort of magic, but… not in a bad way.

The others looked confused in varying degrees, and Crimson’s arm out only barely kept Scarlet from acting- but there was a flicker of deeper confusion yet on Serif’s face… one of almost-recognition and angrier confusion on Cinnamon’s-

But Crimson’s sockets widened.

“ay, ni de coña-”

Several eyelights snapped to her as she swore, shaking her head as if to clear it of cobwebs-

And then… slowly, she stumbled through a handful of similar sounds.

Words.

Glitching, uneven, but also rich like radio static - if a little clumsier in her mouth-

You felt as much as heard the surprised intake of breath behind you.

And slowly, came a response.

Crimson frowned, scowled outright, sockets squinting and head cocking a bit. A few more words- a grunt, then a continuation that sounded corrected-

An angrier response from the woman holding you-

“could you please let us in on the conversation, thanks,” hissed Serif sharply at Crimson, but she was promptly waved off as Crimson haltingly tried a few more words-

And slowly, the hand at your throat drifted just a little further down.

“… n..o.”

“pendejo-” Crimson swore, making a sharp rude gesture - but not at your captor, at the sky.

“¿Qué le hizo?” Scarlet was sharp, too quick, her Spanish rough and thick with anger-

“that bastard must’ve turned it on alright- she’s…. joder, she’s like Blade but- us too, hermana. our estrelita here apparently helped her outta a trap she was dyin’ in, and when we showed up-”

“shit,” Serif swore softly, her hands lowering again, anger and stress and understanding flickering over her face.

“she’s still holdin’ her,” Cinnamon pointed out, words tight - but her posture had relaxed… slightly. “we gotta get her some first aid-”

She paused, then, quieter.

“both of ‘em…. fuck, her leg’s completely…”

“Please, let us help you- both of you-” Sapphire’s voice was earnest, firm but gentle- but you couldn’t quite focus on her. On any of them, now, not with your vision threatening to tunnel.

You were starting to shiver a little, following along but only just. The wound in your leg must be… pretty bad. You were feeling faint. Your body shifted in time with the growing shallower breaths of the woman holding you…

Crimson was swearing, attempting a word again, and again, but clearly not knowing how or what to say in that strange language-

“what even is it you’re speakin’-” Cinnamon pressed.

“shh, it’s just- it’s– old, old monster shit, most forgot except uh- certain scientist, and a few others, it’s been ages but-”

Suddenly, you were higher off the ground, your mind slipping for a moment in vertigo. The next, you realized… both her arms were supporting you, cradling you close, a modified bridal carry to accommodate the size difference and your wounded leg that-

“Oh god-”

You dry heaved, forcing yourself to look away from the open gash in your leg.  You’d never been good with great quantities of blood, but - but you’d seen white in the deep, long wound, and your head was spinning, fuck-

“…n.ow. b… oth.”

The two halting words were punctuated by a longer phrase in that radio-static language you couldn’t understand. Your eyes were closing, unable to focus any longer. Whatever was going to happen, you couldn’t fight it… at least… at least they didn’t seem like the others were going to fight, either…

“you gotta give her to us- you can’t pass through a shortcut with that-”

Your mind was fading, and you barely registered the harsher, almost booming radio-static words falling from the woman holding you possessively, protectively. The following swears tumbling from Crimson might as well have been white noise...

“Take… take care of her, first,” you mumbled, not seeing the other girl’s attention snap to you, nor the wide stare of the woman holding you. “She was… d-dust, at… at her wound… please don’t let- let her… fall…….”

And with that, your mind slipped away in pain and anemic exhaustion.

It wouldn’t be till much later that you found out that the girls had apparently surged into action that, and somehow, together, managed to shortcut you and your new friend back to Blade and Twist’s place.

Both of you were patched up…

But the cost of teleporting while so grievously injured cost this new arrival her lower leg. A cost she apparently knew she might pay.

You cried when you found out.

But you’d also awoken in her arms, a place she’d apparently refused to let you free of, even at Blade’s anger and Twist’s worry. Her leg was gone, yours was patched and stitched by Twist’s patent, phenomenal care. And still, you were there... warm, bundled in new blankets, with the woman’s eyelight rarely leaving you, even as Crimson and Serif explained what happened, Blade looming nearby.

She couldn’t speak English well, you found out then, too. She’d… forgotten it. What monsters were left in her world forgot it - forgot a lot, apparently, forced into a feral survival, hunted by… something.

But in the end, to start… you were able to help her choose a new nickname, at least. A beginning. A start, because… Despite their concern, well, none of the girls were going to kick this new arrival out on her own. Crimson in particular had been there too, the whole time, helping translate broken sentences and try to parse together what she knew…

Dusk, she chose as her name, after a long game of suggestions and narrowing in on sounds and concepts she seemed less opposed to. She seemed pleased… if you were reading her right.

And… she didn’t have a sister that came with her.

Stratum

So, in this world the Underground is much larger than one would think. The Underground is broken up into 15 13 levels knows at the Strata, spiraling down deeper into the mountain and getting bigger with each level. Each strata holds a different AU, from top to bottom is UnderSwap, Undertale, Horrortale, HorrorFell, UnderFell, SwapFell, Cas!Swap(my version), Cas!SwapFell(also my version), Purpfell, UnderLust(because I love them platonically- I want that vest Nova), Dancetale, Merged (aka my Babybones), and at the bottom is another merged world of all the Mafia Aus- a literal criminal underbelly. Meanwhile there are 2 more strata hidden and lost from time known as The Forgotten Realms which is HorrorSwapFell and HorrorSwap.

Basically this is a creative excuse to have everyone in one place without their stories overlapping (too much)

But Cas! I hear you ask- how would they not overlap? Well that’s cause each Stratum has it’s own mini barrier cutting it off from the others which allowed for each to develop so differently from each other. The ‘ability’ allowing Traveler to pass through isn’t actually an ability, she’s just one of the 3 people in the entire underground to absorb a soul. The other two are Anty, who absorbed Olive’s soul (a human trapped in the ruins). And Wolf- my HSF Paps who absorbed the soul of a fallen human to aid his brother. The plan was for him to then go to the surface and collect the souls needed for freedom while his brother usurped the throne but once they got to the hall that would lead them out of the underground they discovered that it was COMPLETELY BLOCKED OFF. The barrier was there yes- but there was also just a wall of stone right behind it. At some point there was a rockslide that trapped them even further. So since they’re now in charge Wolf has to stay there and make sure nobody else attempts a Coup-d’état. That and he’s a big boy and can’t fit through the hall to the other strata so he doesn’t really use that facet of his new power.

Another fun tidbit is that Honey and Rus are friends, the gate between them is close to their houses in Snowdin so they like to sit and pass paper airplane notes and letters through the barrier.

There’s also Rant and Mutt, who can see people’s souls at a glance because of their eyes. it’s not something they activate it’s just always visible, so when Rant meets Traveler at a young age they end up as friends. At first because that’s dangerous info he has and later because they just came to enjoy each others company. Traveler likes his mismatched eyes- they’re pretty, have bright colors, and glow- what more could anyone ask for? Rant thinks it’s cool that he has a friend that’s seen so much and goes on adventures- plus they’re a human so that’s extra cool. Rant stays at home most the time but whenever it’s time that Traveler comes around he waits at the gate and they chat while he walks her to the other gate since the gates are super close in his stratum. It’s like a day trip- she’ll come back once business is finished in lower strata and stay in his for a bit both for work and to spend time with him. Mutt is unaware of this, being busy with his job. But boy is it fun when he finds out! (I have plans for that)

Then there’s what happens when the barriers break- which is when the forgotten realms are introduced and that’s FUN! So yeah- too many ideas. Also Fell exists and THATS a thing, surprisingly him and traveler are on friendly terms, frenemies really.

I answer headcanon type questions for UT, UF, US, SF, SFR/FS, FSG, and HT. I call these boys the Main 14.

I will also answer headcanon type questions for Horrorswap, Horrorfell, Underlust, Dancetale/Swap/Fell, Outertale/Swap/Fell, Mafiatale/Swap/Fell, however you have to specifically ask for them, and NOT alongside the Main 14. It just becomes too many to add them alongside the Main 14.

I answer questions for the Skele-Tones, my little boy band AU.

This is my NSFW blog, so I’m assuming these questions will be of the +18 kind. If you want to ask any sort of SFW question please ask them on my main blog. You can find that here. 

The more questions you ask in an ask, for example if you ask 5 or more specific questions in an ask, I won’t answer for all Main 14. I’ll cut it down to maybe 2-4. This is so I don’t spend hours answering just one ask, and can get to the other asks sitting in my inbox.

🌼Alright, heeeere we go. After much deliberation and tons of design doodles, I have scrapped this is a good representation of what my multiverse version of HorrorFell is all about. As I said before this is going to be more Eldritch and supernatural horror. I did say before that the other one focused more on the psychology of it but I have to argue now that this is really that AU and I will explain that briefly like I have in the past. This is a lot to unpack to stick with me! 

What you see above is Red’s occult/ ceremonial outfit he does not wear this huge imposing headdress all the time. First, it is probably super heavy and second, it’s only worn by the cult members, which no one knows what monsters are actually initiated. I don’t know if you can tell or not (sorry for the quick sketches) but that headdress is a Gaster Blaster skull. I had a lot of fun drawing this idea since I love all that kind of occult and secret society stuff. I will not be ashamed to admit that I have been super inspired by four main materials for Horrorfell. They are Bloodbourne, Fran Bow, The Order, and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. All great shows and games that are definitely worth a play/watch if you love this kind of stuff. Onto the story (buckle up cause the angst train is pulling into the station). 

Horrorfell takes place after a pacifist run by Frisk. The story briefly goes as follows. Frisk ends up in the Underworld (Underground) and befriends the monsters and wants to help them. She never dies once either. It is basically a way watered down version of WTU in essence. I will point out that Red is still a killer and that becomes worse after Frisk’s absence ( I will explain this in a bit). Once reaching the end of her journey the monsters refuse to let her be that final soul. They would rather wait and figure out something else. Frisk promises to return to them and set them free. She is like 18-19 by the way. Asriel sacrifices himself to that end to see her leave through the barrier only the humans capture the poor girl after she leaves. They conclude that she is not mentally stable due to her insistence that monsters are real and throw her into an asylum to be “treated”. We all know what that means. 

Nearly 5+ years later and she manages to escape finding herself once again in the Underworld only it is far different from what she remembers. At this point, she is questioning whether anything is real or not. After being “treated” for so long she doesn’t quite know which reality is real. As Red (aka Saw) points out: “Ya really don’t know believe what happened do ya?” 

Frisk is the one person that gets him to turn a new leaf when it comes to his numb feelings in the beginning. It’s harder to go against what was originally natural and he struggles with overcoming his base instinct. That guilt hits him heavy now that he feels even guiltier because he didn’t care that he’s even forgotten the victims. That’s always going to haunt him. He only cares about two people in their world and that is his brother Eldritch and Frisk so everyone else is on his kill list so to speak. I would think that he would use others as a means to an end. If I keep him yandere like Blade, though not as insane, then he would do anything to see her again including becoming a ruthless killer again to do it. Get the souls, break the barrier, find the girl. Essentially he’s more of a calculating yandere in this case. So rather than being socially acceptable to kill humans, his dilemma in beating his nature with his yandere extremes and how he’s got to hold himself back. Frisk is just the person to help him recognize that he’s gotta broaden his view and that comes with accepting his flawed nature. It’s that whole killing makes me feel good/ numb idea. When accepting your flaws you end up going through lots of denial initially, being yandere, he’s going to see his view as right, even justified.

Frisk’s Mental Demons:

  The psychological toll on Frisk is great as she has been told constantly that she made up her time in the Underworld in order to shut herself away into a fantasy world. A world where she had a family... where she is loved and wanted. This happens a lot like the “Doctors” continuously try to refute her experiences or sensations medically.  Every time she goes to sleep in the Underworld she ends up back at the Asylum tied down kicking and screaming and she only wakes up again when she is sedated. Rinse and repeat. The question is... is it real? Or rather which is real. The doctors go on to state that her dark state of mind twisted her original concept behind her “family” making them this eldritch styled horror. He also goes onto explain that the reason she is so drawn and close to Red is that it is her “flirting with death”. That she is accepting that outcome because if she continues to resist treatment she will die and the moment she trusts him in her “fantasy” that will be the end. (on a side note what a jerk). Anyway, these kinds of situations happen a lot and even sometimes cross over through auditory and visual hallucinations, at least that is what the doctor says they are. I will give an example of this. 

Red zaps her with his old joy buzzer for old time sake. Not to freak her out or anything but after that encounter and she is safe with the Bros. She falls asleep and she ends up back at the asylum, whether it is a nightmare or not. She ends up crying over how real her "hallucination" feels and she talks about the buzzer. The doctors explain to her that it was an external stimulus from her shock therapy. In other words, it’s all in her head. Red tries to comfort her when this happens trying to get her to believe that he is real but he doesn’t push that on her considering how broken he sees she is. A lot of times she ends up in tears wrapped in his arms and he just holds her in a comforting way. My heart. 

The Occult/World:

The cult as I keep referring to it as is a group of powerful monsters. I am not going to say too much about them as I don’t want to ruin certain things. However, they believe humans to be their salvation while the rest of the monsters believe that they are the angels of death. They will kill humans on sight, of course, they want to live in denial of their horrible deeds. This is where the idea of hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil comes in. Each monster falls into one of these camps even going so far as to mutilate themselves to do it. EVERYONE HAS GONE NUTS. Unlike the cult that wishes to break the barrier, the rest want to stay hidden from the beasts above. Red and Eldritch are under see no evil hence the blindfolds. Even though Red is a part of the cult however he has to play the part, the rest of them do as well. The question is which 7 monsters are a part of it? 

There is no monarchy in this since it was dissolved. It is rumored that the cult have extraordinary abilities that far surpass that of regular Boss monsters. They are considered “consorting with evils beyond their control”. I will say that Reds faith in the order is quite strong... only time will tell if their intentions are what has been advertised. The cult believes that humans are the key to their salvation and that they will summon a god to rule both the surface and the underworld. Basically bringing hell to earth. In keeping with the eldritch horror vibe. I have that “god” being an unholy amalgamation of Asriel, God of Hyper death, Chara, and Gaster not to mention that the rest of the cult can become unholy eldritch abominations as well. Reds got the Gaster blaster beast vibe with him but he also has a million eyes when his sockets go dark. A whole bunch of disturbing eyes fill his skull. (If you have ever watched Soul Eater it’s very Asura like)

Each member is associated with a major arcana as well. In Reds case, it is being a seer which in essence is seeing the truth or judgment. That is all I am going to say about them for now. Even Eldritch and Frisk don’t know that Red is in the cult by the way. I am still working on his full body design as everything I have done I am not all that satisfied with. His headshot though will stay the same I am really happy with those. I am thinking of leaning more Bloodbourne. If you have any suggestions feel free to drop them in the comments! So I’m messing around with a drabble project because I was having a whole lot of writer’s block on all my other open projects (which I haven’t forgotten about, I swear, nothing’s abandoned, don’t worry) and...

Well, the long and short of it is, I’ve gone from having 14 skeletons to 20 skeletons-- is there any kind of preference for how I disseminate information about them? Like with Undergloom and Horrorfell where I make a big info-dump about the AUs first and then write about them, or like...just write about them and take questions as they come?
