No two gingerbread cookies are exactly the same. Clearly fresh enough that they’d been baked within the last 24 hours ((for the sake of avoiding food poisoning we’re going to pretend this gift was received AT the party)), they smell and look absolutely delicious! Each individual cookie was made with obvious time and care, but try not to eat too many in one sitting; you’ll make yourself sick!

His actions, intentions… contemptible at best. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding this encounter, she couldn’t allow his brethren to further wreak havoc upon the manor – a sentiment likely shared by Mega Man himself. Thank the gods they only had to deal with one wily Robot Master and their metallic drones for now…

“I see that there’s no changing your resolve. Very well then.”

“It appears I don’t have a choice myself.” Falchion in one hand, Lucina sprinted forward yet again and dragged it against the ground, emitting sparks from the holy blade itself. One may say don’t be reckless in the heat of battle, but she couldn’t afford Crash Man to inflict anymore damage.

“Hyaaaa!”

She angled Falchion for a straight lunge, the dubbed Shield Breaker maneuver, and towards her opponent at blinding speeds. Lucina’s strategy was to give the latter as little breathing time as possible, in an effort to deter the use of those bombs. It might not be completely effective though – who knew what card he’s yet to play.

Crash Man was too focused on Mega Man; he turned just in time for the blade to catch him in the chest, Falchion barely missing his core. For the second time in his life, his lightweight armor was proving to be more of a blessing than a curse. The Wilybot bellowed a war cry and unleashed more Crash Bombs at her feet.

“Get away from her!” Jets of air, compressed into small vortexes, shot through the battlefield and collided with their opponent’s chest. The attack knocked Crash Man into the air, into the ceiling, and Mega Man watched as he fell and hit the ground with a loud thud. For a moment, he thought that it was already over. 

“AAARGH!!”

Barely any time had passed before Crash was on his feet, and now, he wasn’t holding back. He didn’t take aim at either of them, instead latching his attack into the walls. Hundreds, thousands of Crash Bombs lined the room, all threatening to detonate and bring them all to a flashy death.

“Lucina, get out of here! I can handle this! It’s too dangerous for you!” The technique wasn’t new. In fact, it was what killed Crash Man the first time they had fought. The cost of that fight, however, was an entire building collapsing; maybe Mega Man could reach his brother and teleport away from the mansion in time...

The silence that came with nighttime at the mansion really was peaceful. Tonight, however, that peace would be broken; for instead of silence in the corridors, the sound of an explosion tore through the air.

What followed was Mega Man, bolting down the halls in full armor. His right hand was shifted to his Mega Buster, and he was desperate for help. He let out a sigh of relief once he saw Lucina, and sped up in an effort to catch her before his pursuers caught up.

“Lucina, get ready!” Once he got to her side, he spun a complete 180 degrees, and took aim at the Sniper Joe units that had just turned the corner. What good her blade would be against those shields, he wasn’t quite sure; they here capable of taking no damage from his own plasma fire. Still, he had to hope.
