introducing the old undertale OC, Sculla!
she’s a semi-gorgoness who inhabits a pirate-themed minigolf course towards the bottom of Waterfall. The in-game encounter would be you ignoring a ‘closed for repairs’ sign, falling down and smashing one of her decorative statues. During the fight she would mostly make use of blue attacks, with the more of the snakes in her hair making eye contact the more blue in the attack square and therefore the less places you can move (due to the fact that her design is based on Medusa).
After pacifying her, she’ll invite you for a game of mini golf and take up residence as a shopkeeper.
You can buy the Golf Club, Eyepatch, and a couple of snack food items from her shop (eg Popato Chisps and Chips Ahoy). If you talk to her, you can learn that she set up the Ball course in Snowdin as a commission from an unnamed ‘minigolf enthusiast’, and the seven possible coloured flags you can receive are ‘all the traits you need to win a game of Minigolf’.
If you buy the Golf Club, you can play more games of Ball/Minigolf on some courses around the area to get some more G, and when you’re done, if you bring the club back to the store you can get a refund. If you keep it, it doesn’t have very high stats but it will make the ‘shield’ used during a green soul battle resemble the golf club.
If you buy the Eyepatch, it won’t have very high defense stats and equipping it will cover half of your screen.
It’s just a gag item. It will also cover half of every text box, or just *anything* on that side of the screen. You could unequip it, of course, but why would you want to?
anyway I made this character when I was 13 I think and new to my Undertale phase. I’ve been drawing her a lot lately though, so I figured I’d share.
Bonus edit if you’ve made it this far v

A SPORTS BLOG: Monica Puig (PUR) vs Angelique Kerber (GER): Women’s Tennis Singles Final
Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-iONJOk4NM
Introduction:
Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent or between two teams of two players each. Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court.
Court Dimensions:
The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Specifically in the Barra Olympic Park.
A tennis court is 78ft (23.77m) in length and 27ft (8.23m) in width, with the service line being 6.4m from the net. A singles court has a total playing area of 195.65m². The court is divided into two equal areas by a net suspended by a cord or metal cable attached to two net posts. The net is 1.07m high and is fully extended to fill the space between the two nets posts. The net is 0.914m high at the center, held down tightly by a white strap. A white band covers the cord or metal cable and the top of the net. For singles matches, the net posts’ centers are 0.914m outside the singles court on each side.
The lines at the end of the court are baselines, and the lines at the sides of the court are sidelines. The baseline is up to 8m wide. Service lines are two lines between the singles sidelines, 6.40m from each side of the net, parallel with the net. On each side of the net, the area between the service line and the net is divided into two equal parts called the service courts. The line dividing the service courts is the center service line and is drawn parallel with the singles sidelines and halfway between them. The center service line is 4.11m wide.
Equipment
· Headband – It helps organize the hair of the player and to stop sweat from moving towards the face.
· Cap – It is a headwear that helps you prevent from not being able to see the opponent due to direct sunlight.
· Racket – It is a bat with a long handle attached to a circular frame covered in a network of tight strings; used to strike the ball.
· Uniform - Most players usually wear a shirt. If you wear a sleeved or sleeveless cotton blend top, you will feel cooler and more relaxed. However, some courts do not sanction sleeveless shirts, so double-check their policies first.
· Water Bottle – It is where you can store your water to prevent from being dehydrated.
· Shoes – It is sports shoe with a rubber bottom and a leather or hard cotton top that is ideal for tennis sport.
·Tennis Balls – It is wrapped in a fibrous felt that alters their aerodynamic properties, and each is adorned with a white curvilinear oval.
· Bag – It is a bag used to transport a player’s tennis rackets.
Basic Skills
Footwork
Although you’re not traveling a far distance to the naked eye, tennis players actually rack up miles of walking and running throughout the course of a match. Endurance is key, but so is your footwork because there are tons of quick movements that you need to make in a short period of time and over a short distance.
Serving
This is a crucial part of the game because if you’re not able to effectively serve a tennis ball, it’ll be hard to take control of any game or match you’re participating in. The actual act of serving a ball takes but a few seconds. However, there are tons of small movements within the act itself that make up a successful experience with honing this skill. These small movements include mastering the ball toss, gaining a consistent point of contact, and properly timing each of your movements.
Forehand and Backhand Strokes
There are a number of different strokes used during a tennis match, but forehand and backhand strokes are easily the most common. Learning how your body responds to the backswing, the point of contact, and the follow-through of each stroke is crucial before going on and learning anything else.
Shots:
Serve – It is what players begin every single shot in a tennis match. While one player is serving, the other is receiving, and they take turns after the end of every game. Serves can take different shapes and forms, but they are generally characterized by a movement where the player swings the racket above his head, while still standing behind the baseline.
Return - It is a shot where one player waits to see where the other player’s serve lands and then attempts to hit the ball back to the other side. A return can be executed in several different ways, with a forehand, backhand, slice, block, or chip. The most important aspect of a return is just getting the ball back to the other side, no matter how.
Forehand – It is for the vast majority of players, their strongest weapon. A player hits a forehand when he allows the ball to bounce once on his court before hitting it, and hits it with his dominant side. With very few exceptions, players hit forehands using only one arm.
Backhand - It is another one of the main shots in a tennis game. It is the equivalent of the forehand but executed on the player’s non-dominant side. For instance, if a player is right-handed, the backhand will be executed on the left side. If a player is left-handed, the backhand will be executed on the right side.
Slice – It is essentially a variation of the backhand shot. Instead of hitting the ball on the top, your racquet swings through the bottom of the ball. That adds underspin to the shot, so after the ball bounces on the other side, it stays low and close to the ground.
Forehand volley - It is a fairly simple movement, in which you use only one arm to hit a ball by your dominant side, without letting the ball touch the ground. It requires firm hands and fast reflexes.
Backhand volley - It looks a lot like a backhand slice, but without letting the ball touch the ground. Once again, a volley usually occurs when you are standing close to the net. A backhand volley always happens on your non-dominant side.
Overhead - It is the last basic shot you should become comfortable with is the overhead (also called smash in some countries). You must be standing close to the net and hit the ball without bouncing. You need to hit the ball over your head (similarly to a serve), and that is why this shot is named the way it is.
Technical and Tactical Skills
Talking about Angelique Kerber, she really tried her best in portraying a good tennis player. She showcased such strategies and skills that helped her fight all throughout the game such as having a tremendous return, slice and backhand volley. Kerber’s return is somewhat astonishing because of her unique ability to react towards the rally between the two opponents. Another is her slice, she really executes it well hitting the racquet through the bottom of the ball that helped her have an underspin shot and when usually the opponent hits the ball in an easy manner, Keber uses her backhand volley when running towards the net.
On the other hand, Monica Puig has showcased such beautiful performance, from her skills, abilities, decision-making and etc. Monica Puig was really dominating the game due to her wise technical and tactical skills. She commonly uses shots such as overheads, backhand and forehand shots and her serve. Monica’s ability through her overhead shots helped her dominate the game as she has right timing using this shot. Monica’s forehand and backhand shots are also captivating as she performs it like she had been practicing it for how many years since you can really observe the both her backhand and forehand are executed smoothly and has the right power depending on her strategy to drain the opponent. She really is a praiseworthy player since she really tried her best to have a wonderful performance. Winning her gold medal made her the first Olympic gold medalist in her country.
Rules of the game
Who Serves First
Usually the age old question of who serves first is settled by a simple coin toss. The person who wins the coin toss may elect to serve first or select a side of the court which he would like to receive his opponents serve.
The server will continue serving the ball to the receiver until the set has ended. After the set has ended, the receiver will become the server and serve the ball until the next set has ended. This process is repeated throughout the match.
Fault and Double Fault
The server is given two opportunities to serve the ball within the service court as marked in the diagram below. When the server fails to get his first serve into the diagonally opposite service court, it is called a fault serve. A double fault is committed if the server fails to get his second serve into the diagonally opposite service court and the receiver will then earn a point.
If the ball hits the net and falls within the service court, this is called a “net serve”, the server will be entitled to re-serve the ball into the service court. For example, if a “net serve” is made on the server’s first serve, the server will be entitled to re-serve his first serve. There are no limits to the number of “net serves” a player can commit.
The server should stand before the right side of the baseline and serve the ball diagonally across to the receiver’s right service court and then proceed to serve from his left side of the baseline diagonally across to the receiver’s left service court.
Counting Scores
Counting score in tennis match is some tricky business. The server’s score is always announced first before the receiver’s throughout the game.
The point system of a tennis match is as follows:
• No points are scored = Love
• 1 point scored = 15 points
• 2 points scored = 30 points
• 3 points scored = 40 points
• 4 points earned = set point (set over)
For a tennis player to win a game, he/she must win with at least a two point lead.
If the score is tied at 40 to 40 (what is called as a “Deuce”), a player must earn two consecutive points (an “Advantage” point and “Point”) to win the game. If the player who has an “Advantage” point loses the next point, the score will be “Deuce” once again.
A set is won when a player has won a minimum of six games with a two game advantage over his opponent.
In or Out
In a game of singles, the ball must be hit within both “SERVICE COURTS”, the “BACK COURT” and the “ALLEY LINE” as marked in the diagram below for a point to be scored. Balls hit in the between the “SIDE LINE” and “ALLEY LINE” are considered balls hit out of court and thus earning your opponent a point.
In a doubles game, the ball must be hit within both “SERVICE COURTS”, the “BACK COURT” and the area between the “ALLEY LINE” and “SIDE LINE” for a point to be scored.
How to officiate the sport
Chair Umpire:
The chair umpire is the person sitting in the highchair at the side of the court officiating over all decisions made out on court with the power to over rule any judgements made by lines persons or indeed players themselves. They are the ones keeping track of the score and more recently the amount of challenges each player has left to call upon. Basically, out on court, the buck stops with them. They vocalise the score after every point and in between games. They complete the scorecard as the match progresses and they maintain order throughout. They keep the audience quiet and make sure they follow the rules of spectator etiquette. If a player has any queries then they are the first stop of call and often the final decision maker. They ensure players adhere to time constraints and acceptable behaviour on court. They have the ability to award code violations to players amounting to warnings, the loss of points, games and even matches. There is only ever one chair umpire per match played.
Line Umpire:
The line umpires are the officials who have the responsibility of calling the ball in or out during all calls and especially the close ones. They can be over ruled by the chair umpire but this rarely happens. There can be up to nine lines umpires on a court at any one time. Three at either end of the court looking after the side lines and the centre service line, one each judging the baseline and a final line umpire looking after the service line depending on who’s serving at the time. Nine is the maximum amount of line umpires on a court and in reality can vary from anywhere between two and nine.
Net Court Umpire:
The net court umpire is an umpire sitting at the net to call any ball that hit the net during service called a “net court” or “let”. If a ball hits the net during a serve then the server is asked to replay that shot again if the ball lands in or to play their next serve if it has landed out. If it was their second serve and the net court serve landed out then it is deemed to be a double fault and the next point is played. Most tournaments today no longer have this umpire as new technology has placed a sensor on the top of the net to detect any ball hitting the net and thus replacing the need for this type of umpire. Either that or the chair umpire will make the decision.
Ball Persons:
The ball persons are the ones that are essential to make the game run smoothly in terms of operations. There are usually six ball persons on a court to look after this job. There are two at the back of each side of the court and two more at the net, covering each side of it. Their job is to ensure that the server always has a choice of tennis balls to choose from before they start to serve. They change the balls after every nine tennis games and ensure that the players want for nothing. This might include new drinks, an umbrella in the sun, taking plastic covers from racquets or ensuring that they always have a towel to hand.
Referee:
the tournament referee is the person in charge of making all decisions regarding all the matches. They oversee the schedule of play and is the person assigning matches to specific courts. They make sure that all the ITF’s regulations are enforced including the conduct of all involved and must be present whenever any matches are being played. They can over rule chair umpires and in fact their decision is final. They are present at the draws and are responsible for allocating the seeding. They are the person who has the say in whether play is suspended on account of rain and must be available to resolve disputes regarding to tennis rules.
Summarization:
The match between the two skilled athletes was very exciting and thrilling. In every game, there will always be one player who will dominate the game and that is Monica Puig. Monica Puig obtained the gold medal as she knocked off Kerber with the scores 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. The game was very entertaining as the supporters of Puig was dressed in their country’s colors which gave confidence to Puig and all of her supporters boosted Puig’s confidence as they were cheering for her whole-heartedly. Monica Puig got the gold medal of the Rio 2016 and was known for the saying “ The underdog who became a champion”.

Monica Puig (PUR) vs Angelique Kerber (GER) - Women's Tennis Singles Final | Rio 2016 Replay
Court Dimensions:
The court depicted in the video is 23.77m long and 8.23m wide. A net that is suspended by a cord is attached to two net posts that divide the court into two equal sections. The net is 1.07m tall and it stretches in between the two net posts. The net is 0.914m tall in the center and is held down by a white strap. At the top of the net, there is a white band that conceals the cord. The court is consists of lines at the end of the court known as baselines and lines on the side of the court known as sidelines. The baseline can be as wide as 10cm. The service lines are two parallel lines that are in between the single sidelines and measure 6.40m from each side of the net. On each side of the net is an area between the service line and the net, these two equal parts are divided and are known as the service courts. The center service line divides the service courts and is drawn parallel with the singles sidelines and halfway between them. In addition, the center service line is 5cm wide. All court measurements are taken to the outside of the lines and are all white, which contrasts with the surface color.
Equipment:
Monica Puig from Puerto Rico - She had a white tennis grip tape on the racket handle and a racket colored in yellow and black, along with a design on the net of the racket. She also wore a red bandana with a design on it. A short red dress with some parts of it white, with blue stripes, and a symbol. Underneath her dress is white-colored undershorts. She also wore a white sweatband around one of her arms. Lastly, she had white shoes on with black designs and a pair of white socks.
Angelique Kerber from Germany - She also had a white tennis grip tape on the racket handle and a racket colored in red, white, and black, with a design on the net of the racket. She also wore a white tennis hat with an Adidas logo on it. A white tank top with a red design, an imprinted Adidas logo, and a symbol. A white skirt with an Adidas logo and red shorts at the bottom. Lastly, she had red shoes with a white design along with white socks that have a design. Unlike Monica Puig, I noticed that she didn't wear any sweatbands. Sweatbands are essential because they can wipe away sweat, thus resulting in fewer distractions.
General Equipment:
Tennis Balls - Aside from the racket, the most important piece of equipment used to begin a match is the tennis ball, which can be made of rubber and nylon. The tennis balls in the video are neon yellow with black text.
Tennis Court - A match cannot be played if there is no tennis court. These can be found in parks, clubs, and recreational facilities. Professional courts, on the other hand, will vary depending on the location of the matches. In the video, you can see that the court is green with white lines marking the different spots, it has a net that divides the court into two separate sides, it has benches for the crowd to watch the game, it has a scoreboard that is used to keep track of the scores, and it has an umpire tower that is located at the side of the court and is used for high-level matches like the one shown in the video, this is also where the umpire sits and make calls.
Tennis Net - The tennis net is the most important piece of tennis court equipment. In the video, the net is black with a white design on it. It measures 1.07m tall and extends between the two net posts. It is also 0.914m tall in the center and is held down by a white strap.
Basic Skills:
Smashes - It requires you to hit the ball into the court of the opponent at high speeds. They are also very effective because your opponent may not be able to reach the ball in time. I noticed that they both had very powerful smashes that helped them both accumulate more points; however, Monica Puig timed a few of her smashes correctly, so Angelique Kerber was unable to return the ball over the net in time.
Serving - It is essential if you want to take control of any game or match you participate in. Serving the ball takes only a few seconds, but numerous small movements within the act contribute to a successful experience with honing this skill. I noticed that Monica Puig had very good serves in which she scored points, but Angelique Kerber still needed to work on her serves.
Forehand and backhand strokes - There are several strokes in tennis, but the forehand and backhand strokes are the most commonly used. I noticed that Monica Puig and Angelique Kerber both had excellent forehand and backhand strokes. Monica Puig's forehand strokes, on the other hand, were slightly overpowered, causing Angelique Kerber to lose points. On the other hand, I noticed that they both had powerful and successful backhand strokes that helped them gain points.
Technical and Tactical Skills:
Since tennis players are required to walk and run throughout the match, proper footwork is highly essential. I noticed that they executed proper footwork since their movements were so graceful and quick in a short amount of time and over a short distance. They had really good stances, which they used to their advantage as they positioned and moved around the court to execute successful shots. I also noticed that they both performed very well in their offense and defense technique, however, I noticed that Monica Puig had stronger offense techniques which allowed her to win the game.
Rules of the Game:
The game begins with a coin toss to determine who will serve first and which side they will serve from.
After that, the server must serve each point from opposite sides of the baseline. Before hitting their serve, the server's feet must never move in front of the baseline on the court.
If the server does not get their first serve in, they may use a second serve. If they fail to get their second serve in, a double fault will be called and the point will be forfeited.
If the server clips the net but the ball still enters the service area, a let is called and they are allowed to take the serve again without penalty. If the ball hits the net and does not land in the service area, an out is called and the serve is forfeited.
After receiving the serve, the receiver is free to stand wherever they want. The server will receive the point if the ball is struck without the serve bouncing.
Once a serve is made, the number of shots between the players is limitless. The point is earned by striking the ball so hard that the opponent is unable to return it in the scoring areas.
Points are awarded in scores of 15, 30, and 40. 15 equals one point, 30 equals two points, and 40 equals three points. A game must be won with four points. When a game ends on a score of 40-40, it is referred to as a deuce. From deuce, a player must win two consecutive points to win the game. The player is ahead after winning one point from deuce. If the player wins the next point, the game is over; if they lose, the game goes back to deuce.
To win the set, a player must win 6 games by 2 or more. If the opening sets end in a tie, the game will be decided by a tie break in which players play first to 7 points. There will be no tie break in the final set, and players are required to win by two games with no limits.
If a player touches the net, distracts, or obstructs his opponent in any way, he forfeits the point.
The ball may strike any part of the line for a point to be called in; however, if the ball strikes outside the line, the ball is out.
Every 6 games, the balls in a tennis match are replaced with new balls.
A player loses a point if they do not return the ball in the correct areas of the court, if the ball hits the net and does not go into the opponent's area, or fails to return the ball before it bounces twice in their half.
How to Officiate the Sport:
There are two officials in tennis namely the chair umpire and line umpires. In competitive matches, a chair umpire is appointed to ensure that the rules of a tennis match are implemented and are followed correctly. They are the ones who sit in an elevated chair by the net, such as the one shown in the video. The chair umpire always has the final say on all issues that arise during play, they also make an overrule decision if they believe that a mistake has been made. Line umpires, on the other hand, work as part of a team of one to nine-line umpires on the court. They call shots relating to their assigned line. In addition, throughout professional tennis games, line umpires are required to be present.

Men's Singles Table Tennis Final - Full Match | Rio 2016
Court Dimensions
Table Tennis Table
Are regulated playing surfaces designed specifically for the game of table tennis (ping-pong). Table tennis tables measure 9’ | 2.74 m long by 5’ | 1.525 m in wide. The playing surface of a ping-pong table must be set at a height of 2.5’ | 76 cm and is equipped with a center net that is 6” | 15.25 cm high and stretches 6” | 15.25 cm beyond the width of the table.
Equipment
Racket
Composed of a blade and 2 rubbers. One rubber must be black, and another one must be red
Ball
40+mm table tennis ball, color white or orange. Nowadays, you must use a Poly Ball 40+mm. We don’t play the celluloid ball 38mm anymore.
Clothing and Shoes
Clothing (t-shirts, shorts) and shoes are your images. It not only shows your etiquette, your professionalism but also your attitude to the sport.
Basic Skills
Stance and Footwork
Feet: Your feet should be wide, about 1.5 or more shoulder widths apart so that you can quickly move side-to-side. Keep your non-dominant foot slightly ahead of the other (for right-handed people, this means keeping your left foot slightly closer to the table, for left-handed people it’s the opposite).
Ankles and knees: Keep your knees and ankles slightly bent and flexible, with your weight forward on your toes. This keeps your body ready to move forward or backward as needed.
Back and Shoulders: Keep your upper body slightly bent at the waist. With the bent ankles, knees, and waist and your shoulders forward, your whole body is in a slightly crouched position, ready to spring into action.
Arms: Your arms should be in front of your body, with your elbow and paddle in front of you.
Holding the paddle: The exact position of your hands and arms in your stance depends on your grip or how you hold the bat. There are two basic grips in table tennis: the shakehand grip, and the penhold grip. The different types of grip have specific variations for your hand position on the paddle depending on your preference and style of play.
Table Tennis Strokes
Forehand Drive: The forehand drive is the most basic and fundamental ping pong stroke. It returns aggressive/attacking strokes and lands your ball close to the opponent’s baseline or sideline. With the forehand drive, you rotate your body to the back to add power to the ball, so rotate the upper body away and transfer your weight onto your back foot, moving your arm straight back.
Backhand Drive: The backhand drive is the mirror of the forehand drive, intended to return attacking shots and land the ball at the opponent’s baseline. To deliver a backhand drive, stand with your torso in the path of the ball (rather than reaching with your arm), and keep your stance angled toward the table with your free arm pointed toward the ball.
Backhand Push: The backhand push returns short balls, and prevents your opponent from making an attacking return. As with the backhand drive, your body should be positioned in line with the ball, rather than reaching to the side with your arm.
Forehand Push: The forehand push is also designed for returning short balls and preventing attacking shots. Like the forehand drive, you stand with the dominant foot slightly back, and rotate the upper body to accentuate the motion of the paddle. However, unlike the forehand drive, you do a smaller backswing, rotating your wrist forward through the range of motion, and keep your paddle open to brush beneath the ball.
Serving
A table tennis serve is the final basic skill, and it’s a crucial skill since the serve is the only time you have complete control of the ball and the game. There are a number of different types of serves each with different pros and cons but the basics remain the same. To serve in table tennis:
1. Balance the ball on the palm of your free hand with the hand open.
2. Throw the ball vertically upward so that it rises at least 6 inches above your hand.
3. As the ball drops, hit it with your chosen stroke, ensuring that it bounces on your side of the table, goes over the net, and bounces on your opponent’s side of the table.
Rules of the Game
1. No Hands On The Table
Believe it or not, leaning your hands on the table is not allowed in the sport. So, you should never touch the table with your hands. If you do so, you will lose a point. If you have ever played table tennis, you probably know that this is a common practice – especially when the ball is high in the air and bouncing and you want to smash it in the opponent’s part of the table.
2.When Serving, The Ball Must Be Thrown 15mm
Another rule which you may not knew about the game is that the ball must be thrown at least 15 millimeters in height while serving. Obviously, this kind of toss is a good habit – and what it means is that you must throw it at least 15mm into the air from the flat palm of your hand before it is being hit. You are also not allowed to throw the ball in any way which adds spin to it.
3. If The Ball Hits The Net On Service, You Should Serve Again
Sometimes, when you serve the ball in table tennis, it hits the net – and either falls in your part or the opponent’s part of the table. If this happens, you should know that the official rule is to re-serve and replay the serve. There is no actual limit to how many “nets” a player can have on first serve, but the general rule sticks to three in total (before a point is lost).
4. The Ball Must Be Held In A Flat Palm Above The Table
When preparing to serve, you need to hold the ball flat in the palm of your hand and above the table – all in order to ensure that the opponent and the umpire can clearly see it as well as the direction in which it is thrown (held).
5. Rubber Colors
Last but not the least is the rule of rubber and its colors. If you ever held a table tennis paddle, you probably know that one of the sides has a black rubber and the other has a red one. This is only to ensure that the opposing player knows what to expect when they serve – with either the black or red rubber – as well as to prevent any confusion.
Officiating the Sport
Scoring
A competitive game of table tennis is played to the best of five or seven games. The first player to get to 11 points in a game is the winner. However, if a game is tied at 10-10, a player must win a game by two clear points. You do not lose service if you lose a point - each player must serve for two points in a row before handing the service over to their opponent.
Officials
For every table tennis competition, a referee is appointed with a deputy who can act on their behalf. The referee is required to be present at the venue throughout a tournament and is required to uphold the rules.
During a table tennis match, an umpire is appointed to decide on the result of each point or rally. The umpire is required to use their judgement when applying the laws and regulations of the ITTF. Where the umpire is officiating alone, their decision is final and they should be seated about 2–3 metres from the side of the table and in line with the net.
Technical and Tactical Skills, and Analysis
Table Tennis has a new Olympic Men’s Singles champion after Ma Long defeated the previous title holder Zhang Jike with a dominant 4-0 triumph. Ma’s performance on the night was legendary, as the world number one saw off Zhang- seeded 2nd just below him – without dropping a single game. However, despite the crushingly one-sided end scoreline, Zhang gave the new champion a good match as fans were treated to a wonderful final. The first game of the final opened brightly as Ma and Zhang produced some fantastic rallies right from out of the blocks. Ma made a positive start to the end and went 8-4 in front, but Zhang then began to grow into the game, winning a number of points with shots down the line from his backhand side to edge 8-9 ahead. Both competitors knew how important it was to take game one, and Ma did just that (14-12) to earn the early advantage. Ma was becoming more and more confident by the second, while simultaneously dampening Zhang’s mood. Game three featured a masterclass in attack-against-attack, and attack-against-defence rallies, both players giving it their all as the atmosphere in the Riocentro – Pavilion 3 hit fever pitch. But the established pattern prevailed and Ma extended his lead (11-4) to move ever closer to Olympic glory. Zhang’s body language heading into the fourth game looked negative, and the 28-year-old fell 3-0 down leading to his time-out. China’s Head Coach Liu Guoliang sat in the stands to show respect for both of his athletes, leaving it up to Zhang to find his way back into the final. Despite winning back-to-back points after the break, Zhang simply ran out of ideas for an alternative approach as Ma finished off his opponent in straight games (14-12, 11-5, 11-4, 11-4) to seal the gold medal for China. Following the conclusion of the match, Ma Long showed his appreciation toward the fans by forming the shape of a heart with his hands, and in a rather touching moment the Rio 2016 champion stood side-by-side with Zhang Jike to lift the Chinese flag aloft. Ma took time after his win to talk about his experience in the final, “I played well throughout the match; the title is only possible with that high level of play.”

Yoongi x Reader
Idol Reader Au, Enemies to Lovers AU
Summary: Your management refused to renew your contract unless you collaborated, so you ending up working with Min Yoongi. A guy you’d disliked from before both of your debuts. There is more to their past than meets the eye.
Words:2325
Warnings: SMUT (Oral, Orgasm denial, ruined orgasms.) Domme/Sub themes, Sub!Yoongi. Some Sass!

if you want to be tagged let me know :)
Here it is guys as promised :)
Reblog, Like, Comment pwwwweeasse :)
//She came to me! To me! Yoongi thought, feeling the bed lightly depress next to him. His mind was a drowsy haze, it was too deep to climb out of but his face muscles managed to creep into a small docile smile as he turned and held her like a lost bear finally found.
“Hey” Yoongi heard her say in a gentle tone. “Sleepy head” she said with a little more strength.
Even when she’d just woke up she was the epitome of beauty.
“We need to get to the studio by 10” she warned, by twisting over and glancing at the clock he saw he had little under half an hour to get ready. Looking up at a flawless face, content eyes all beneath messy hair. He wanted to drag her back in with him to be consumed by the warmth of each other; he wanted to feel her weight on him grow heavy as she drifted off to sleep in his arms. Instead he nodded with dozy movements and watched as she placed a mug of coffee beside him and left him with an awakening view of the bottom curve of her behind underneath a long t-shirt.//
You arrived at the studio just minutes early. The studio techs wore small scowls as they powered up the equipment for you both, their distaste only pulled an amused smirk onto your face.
“Thanks, guys, we really won’t need any assistance today if you have some other work to be doing” You offered the pair. They shared a ‘Thank fuck’ kind of glance both turned and bowed
“Thank you, are you sure? If you need us Yoongi has our number” They scurried out leaving the faint whirring of the equipment with us. Yoongi gave you a questionable smile
“What? I’d rather just the two us work in the studio, we’re only doing the choruses today”
Yoongi shed his leather jacket and chucked it onto the small leather 2-seater at the back of the room; leaving him in just a plain black v-neck tee and a washed out ripped pair of denim jeans pooling at his vans hi-tops. You looked about as casual with your ripped high waist black skinnies and loose red crop top, you were removing your white converse perched on the arm of the sofa. Again a quizzical look from him.
“I’m comfier without them on when I’m in the studio, okay mr judgey eyes” you toyed playfully, the cheekiness glittering through your pupils
“Off your high horse miss jump to conclusions I wasn’t judging” he paused taking a sip of water. “Merely admiring” he admitted.
“Well I’m sure I can find the converse online somewhere” he glided into the control chair
Guess I’m going in first then
“I’m pretty sure you can’t find what I was looking at anywhere else. Go on you first” his head tilted in the direction of the narrow door connecting to the sound proof recording room, he slotted in the usb and transferred the backing music to the program. Neither of you had spoken about last night, at first you thought it would be awkward but it turns out it seemed to be more of an appetising secret and you were both politely waiting for the main course whilst silently adoring each other’s company amongst the flickering of a candle.
“Of course you can’t” you agreed before securing the door to the studio, the red light above the door ceased to live and the green light neighbouring it sprang into existence. The rectangular room was decorated with plain red walls and topped off with dressings of acoustic foam. The metal microphone hung from the ceiling a chandelier for any music artist. You adjusted the length to correlate with your height and moved the pop filter in line with your mouth. You stood side on to the glass window, Yoongi’s captivating eyes were not going to absorb you today.
“How you want to play this?” he asked through the headphones now sat snuggly cupping your ears blocking surround sound locking you into your element.
“Play the first verse and the first chorus first, then play the lead into the first chorus. The lyrics were laid out, a window to your soul on a neatly folded a4 sheet of paper you begun unfolding. A lot of artists read from their phones now but you were not a lot of artists. Having an editable canvas where you could scribble your own notes where you pleased was essential. You gave Yoongi a thumbs up once you’d completed your vocal warm up, it was shorter than the warm up if you was to be singing and not rapping.
You swayed and moved your head according to the beat which fell flawlessly into your ears and swam through your body transforming it to a pool of rhythm which guided you to freedom. You loved what you’d both created.
“Okay, ready” you affirmed ready to lay down some vocals.
“Go smash it” he encouraged.
For the 20th time you were listening to your words against the music, demanding Yoongi tweak one bit or another.
“Okay put the volume down on the percussion for the last three beats”
He did as he was told, his eyes glued on the screen in front of him, focus never faltering, watching him in his element was enthralling, you mind blocked out the sound of the headphones focusing only on the picture in front of you. His wide ‘well?’ eyes framed a knowing smile finally dragging you into the moment.
“Err… sorry once more” your smile mirroring your vocal apology. You swear you saw him gently shake his head with a grin.
“Perfect” You were done, very rarely can you be distracted in the studio yet here you were picturing less than professional things unfolding in this small space. You decided in that moment before your mind completely clouded that you’ll go home tonight and work on vocals alone away from the irresistible Min Yoongi.
The light red above the door announced your freedom to leave which you took. Yoongi was stood gulping down water like a fire was blazing in his throat.
“Did you do as I asked last night?” you asked, professional mode departed leaving you just wanting to play. He choked on a mouthful.
“What?” he replied in a state of disbelief, backtracking his memories for what you asked of him.
“I’m pretty sure I asked you to stop touching yourself, did you?”
You were sure your eyes must have darkened as a warning to Yoongi. You pressed into him nudging him backwards until he bumped into the edge of the desk. His eyes shifting manically around the room in a panic. You rolled your eyes in jest and headed to the door and turned the lock. Tracing your footsteps back to your prey.
“No…” he asked almost like a question, wanting a hint at the consequences.
“Did you cum?” you asked, nudging his head aside to lay a soft kiss on his neck, you heard the small guilty sigh before he answered
“Yes?” Before he could ask any more questions you caught him in heated kiss which swept both your breaths somewhere else, you unhooked the top button of his jeans, the contact of your lips never faltering
“What…are you…doing?” his hand caught yours and halted any more of your moves.
“Want me to stop?” Your chests racing for each other centimetres apart. He released your hand giving you full reign over his kingdom, the way his head dropped back with his jaw slightly ajar accompanied with the sound that rolled past his lips was intoxicating; near short circuiting your system with the surge it caused at your core; and this was only the result of you touching him. You needed all of him and it drove you nuts.
When you got to your knees there was a brief moment your eyes were held in his as your smirk grew as much as it could as you took him in your mouth. One free hand cupped his balls and the other the base and teased what wasn’t in your mouth. Your tongue danced at his tip
“Jesus Y/N” taking his words with relief drenched behind them as a means to not stop you didn’t. You continued clawing guttural groans from his throat. The sounds he made just did something to you, it reverberated round your mind almost overriding you punishing him. It was only his sudden tightened grip on your hair that pulled you out.
“You’regoing to…” he stuttered, You left him completely, his expression pulled struck with wide eyes glaring at you desperately as you sat with nothing but a grin moulded by the devil himself.
“That’s what you get for not doing what you’re told. It has consequences you know” getting back to your feet. He wasn’t sure how to respond to you or he’d just not caught his breath back, it’s quite likely it’s a mix of both.
“I can’t exactly go out like this though” he pleaded. You were pressed to his chest, eyes darting sideways biting your lip.
“Hmmm, that’s not exactly my problem is it” you cooed. You enjoyed the look of horror wash his face even paler than he was already for a moment before you threw him a lifeline.
“Okay, I’ll be lenient THIS time. You can finish yourself off” His faced creased as he was about to protest but the fight dropped from his face and his own hand sought to fix the ‘situation’
“But” you chimed up before he could start “just before you cum I want you to stop all contact, you can still cum but it won’t be as good for you”.
“You want me to ruin my own orgasm?” he checked hardly believing your words could be so cruel.
“Yes, exactly, this way it’s still a punishment but it still sort outs your…problem” your lips crept smugly to kiss his cheek.
“Just imagine what it’ll be like when you finally get to fuck me” you whispered teasingly into his ear, his breath hitched at your words.
“Who would have thought I could tell Min Yoongi what to do in a studio, that was literally one of the sexiest things I’ve seen”
“Yeah?” he asked searching for reassurance. You wasn’t lying, watching him affected you more than you expected; but you needed way more than the thirty minutes left of studio time available to you.
“Mmhmm” you stalked over to him lightly gripped at his shirt at his chest “Don’t believe me?” you asked with a kiss. You took one of his hands and guided it beneath your waistband. You watched his mouth drop open a silent exhale.
“Fuck, yes I believe you” you couldn’t help but adore and melt at the sight of his pout when you pulled his hand away; your body also arguing the decision.
“Go on we’ve not even got any of your vocals yet” nodding your head toward the studio. He took a moment to sulk before taking begrudging steps away from you.
To say he wasn’t quite in the zone to lay down vocal was an understatement. You probably didn’t help the situation sat chewing the end of a pun seductively shadowing an amused grin at his torment. Five minutes before time was up the rest of the boys bundled into the studio and waited for him before their dance practice started. You both shared glances of yet another dirty secret; with all the chaos that follows all seven of them you didn’t get a chance to say bye properly or let him know you wouldn’t be at his when he got home.
After you messaged your mum asking her to drop off Charlie in the morning you filled Yoongi in.
-I’ll stay at mine tonight to get some more of my vocals done, I find being in enclosed spaces with you way too distracting; P.-
- You find me distracting? :O the audacity after only allowing me a touch-
-If it’s that bad nothing stopping coming to mine, only after I’ve finished working though!-
-I might have to take you up on that offer but also depends if you’ll let me have you drives me insane I’ve not made you cum yet, also last night you never actually told me how you actually wanted me-
You postponed your response until you were laid out on your front drowning in the comfort of your own bed, the scent of fresh bedding heavy in the crimson sheets.
Mum’s the best you thought.
-Remember you asked…
You obviously can’t be trusted to do as you’re told so firstly your hands would be cuffed above your head, I’d have a spreader bar at your ankles keeping your legs spread so I can easily thigh ride you and if you get needy you can’t stop me unless you beg. You will need to use your words to tell me how good it all feels especially when I’ve raided my toy box.
You wasn’t going to be too specific you’d rather his imagination have free reign of that.
If you’re good then I’ll let you have me. I’ve been dying to find out the extent of that tongue technology and how my hands look round your neck. Only when you’re so hard it hurts and you’re begging me I’ll let you cum. If you don’t do as you’re told, well you know now they’ll be consequences-
He’ll be practising now but you were buzzed wishing to see his face when he did read it, curiosity blooming to see how he’ll deal with all that in the middle of his day.
The house was a void of noise, the lack of quiet tapping of claws across the wood flooring of the apartment filled you with emptiness; before allowing it to completely consume you, you escorted yourself and you glass of wine to your studio.

I was talking with one of my friends the other day about how after graduation, people have time for hobbies /a concept/. For example, a lot of my 2018 friends play video games together as a way to socialize, and to be fair, they are all quite good now at League of Legends compared to me, who is stuck at level 30 since I play like once every five months.
But why do they play every day when I don’t? Obviously they have a bunch more time post-graduation to, but also I just don’t see myself dedicating all my free time to it. And this goes for other hobbies I see people in the real world doing, like dance or music or photography or reading or spin/yoga/running. Instead of fixating on one thing like it seems like real adults (TM) do, I do the cycling between the same six hobbies every two weeks until I am just about slightly below average to average at every thing I try. My friend says it’s from how in high school we spent all our time doing 12389182 things and in college, we continued to find new interests and taking on 129381928 extracurriculars and leaving that is just impossible for us. I kinda believe in this, but I also wonder if it’s because I haven’t found the one thing I truly truly love, but rather 10 things I kinda like doing every once in a while.
Comprehensive List of My Hobbies (and oh is it a mess)
Photography
I recently got back on this train by taking pics for the model UN chair shoot. We went and borrowed a camera from the library here (the libraries here have literally everything you would ever want, from recording equipment to nice cameras to xbox games you can play in-house), and then took pics from 3-7pm in the nano building to take advantage of the lighting. To be fair, the lighting was absolutely PRIME, and getting to use that 8th grade photography skills on an actual job was really fun. I also really love photoshopping and playing around with white balance and color levels, like I’ll really spend hours on stuff like this, but then ONLY EVERY TWO WEEKS
Music
This has been one of my largest hobbies in that I’ll compose, play, listen, produce, literally everything related to music, but I just don’t personally feel good enough to call myself a legit artist (u feel????) anyways, it also takes a lot of creative energy that I lack most of the time due to fatigue, so most of the time, my musical outlet manifests itself in playing the same chord progression on guitar because that’s slightly therapeutic whereas lying in creative mental block is not
Film/Vlog
This summer I had a lot of time to try this out, and just as I like photo editing, I also really like video editing. If you scroll down just a bit on this blog, you’ll probably find the NYC vlog and also some of the short films I’ve done for my house government. The most recent one is here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zQY_Z4ufEY and yes it really is tik tok inspired, please don’t at me. but again, i feel like vlogging is a lot of effort in that you always have to be recording, and your girl likes doing crosswords in her free time, not thinking about the next nice shot lol
Baking
In high school I used to bake a lot, so I haven’t really done this in years, but I used to bake a TON in senior year. Granted this was one of those hobbies that I was far below average in terms of skill level, but I feel I really learned a lot in the process (for instance, 1/4th of an egg is not equal to a slightly smaller than average egg). Also I got really good at frying eggs in this whole process of learning how to cook/bake, so I guess this is quite practical. Perhaps I should get back on this train. But ingredients also cost money. (But then again, the friends you gain from offering baked goods are priceless)
Learning a Language
Every six months, I tell myself this is it, this is the day I learn Mandarin. And every time, it is, in fact, not the time. This happened once last semester around April where I had a whole burst of trying to learn how to read and then quit after two weeks, and then summer 2018 where I tried downloading all the apps for learning Chinese to practice on the bus (which consequently really died fast once I went back to school), and then summer 2017 also had an attempt, but again, that also died, and mostly what this led to was my conclusion that actually just talking with my grandparents in Mandarin over the phone was the best way to improve my Chinese. i have to say though, the notifications scheme on Duolingo is remarkably good, the guilt really is there
Sports
I think the amount of effort I put into trying to get better at basketball is really quite unfortunate because I actually don’t think I’m that natural of an athlete, I think I’m just slightly more tryhard than others when it comes to sport, which results in me just being a bit above the average beginner at literally every sport. For example, football?? I can kick the ball. And dribble and such. Tennis??? Yes, I can indeed return the ball and hit it between the lines (though to be fair, the majority of the time I’m playing tennis, I find I’m really just not trying to make a fool of myself, so the intrinsic motivators are really there). Basketball??? Ah I think I’m a bit more than slightly above average, but I’m still not really that good, mostly because I don’t actually move that fast. And I think that’s my issue in like every sport, like my body just doesn’t move that fast, so??? oof
Bonus Hobbies-That-Could-Have-Been (and I guess still could??)
Dancing
In freshman year I really liked dancing. I also really liked dancing my senior year of high school, but once sophomore year hit me in the face, I just found other things to do in my life. But I still really love watching dance videos and I feel like if I were to join a dance team with a friend or two, I would really enjoy it. But only with a friend or two, I’ve tried going to dance workshops with people I didn’t really know that well, and it just hasn’t felt the same. But I feel like I could really dedicate myself to it if I were dancing with people I loved hanging out with.
Interior Decorating
There was this really strange three day period over the summer where I was really into designing my room down to the inch. and i actually did execute and my room looks great now - I have a small home office section of my room, I have decorations all up on the walls, and my closet organization is pristine. Unfortunately the process of interior decorating is a nontrivial amount of cost, so this didn’t hold up for long.
Gaming
Again, I was really into gaming summer 2018, but after that, I just lost interest and my skill level plateau’d out after that. Now I’m still pretty bad at League and very bad at Fortnite and acceptable at Smash (but only while playing Ike), and I don’t think I’ll be back on this hobby any time soon, which is a shame because my friend group’s main way of communication is through....gaming
As you can see, I am a mess. My last few I’ve gone through are photography and film, and I’m kinda in the language phase now (though things seem to be suggesting that I’ll actually follow through on this learning a language thing because it’s been a month now that I’ve been pretty consistent on Duolingo), so who knows!! Maybe I’ll produce a song (the one song that I make a year lol)

. . .
So, I went back in time for a bit and decided to really take a good hard look at the main Soul games up to this point.
Soul Blade/Soul Edge: ---Has some unforgettable music and remixes. ---The Edge Master Mode and weapon details were unforgettable. ---Despite not having full 8-way run like later games, the combat still had lots of depth to it. ---Loads of cheat code easter eggs you'd easily miss without GamFAQs and the Wiki. ---Side characters out the gamut.
Soul Calibur: ---Not my most memorable, since I played it back in the arcades and not on the Dreamcast. ---Was the first game in the series to really showcase weapon demonstrations, so it got the ball rolling in that regard. ---Interesting to note that early designs of characters were very much in an Anime style, both in terms of design and story presentation.
Soul Calibur II: ---Probably the oldest SC game that left a strong impression on me. Not "the strongest impression" but still memorable. The music especially stuck with me. ---Having different weapons again was awesome, as was being able to play as guest characters. ---Sound Test and Demonstrations were also memorable. ---Weapon Master Mode was tricky, as I recall, lots of weird missions. ---Getting to equip either Soul Calibur (the weapon) or Soul Edge was the highlight of this game... as was fighting Inferno. ---Extra outfits were cool too. ---First game in the series to have dual language English/Japanese audio!
Soul Calibur III: ---While I missed this game at the outset, I later finally got around to playing it, so now I can give a solid impression of what I think: ---Character fighting styles feel a lot more refined in this game for some reason, compared to a few later games, not perfect, but it was like the movelists were headed in a solid direction. ---This game was built for competitive play with the Championship Mode, and Olcadan's Tutorials (which are still applicable to this day, I might add!). ---Lots of mini-games, some fun (like Soul Smash), others annoying (Dancing Statue, ugh... Colossus battle). ---This game has a very choose-your-own adventure feel to it, but at the same time it's annoying when you mess up and make mistakes during quick-time sequences. ---I'm not sure what the point of the side-story Chronicles of the Sword is, as other than unlocking stuff and giving currency, all you really do is fight battles and level up equipment... It's not nearly as engaging as older Edge Master quests that actually connect with the main story. ---Lots of experimental weapon styles and guest fighters this time, but a lot of it feels like they didn't know where they were going with this game. Still fun to tinker with the extras and outfits though. ---I hope they give us an Abyss and Night Terror skins for SCVI!
Soul Calibur IV: ---This was the game I played almost exclusively once I got back in to the SC games, though after a while I lost interest in it because of the huge spike in difficulty. ---The missions are very hard, and the side characters feel very disjointed, even more so than SCIII characters did. ---Characters feel sluggish, animation/combat wise. ---If there is a highlight, there are two: Darth Vader and the way they rendered all the custom outfits this time around, even today, compared to later games the outfits look so well-rendered it's crazy (maybe it’s the wind effect). It's unfortunate they had to dial back the details of the outfits for customization. ---That said, SCIV may not be the best game in the series, but it is the best-looking visually when it comes to clothing/customization.
Soul Calibur V: ---Despite what people say about the characters (and lack of variety in the roster) the voice acting and music is actually pretty decent. ---This game felt a lot faster in terms of combat compared to previous games (even SCIII feels sluggish compared to this game). I enjoyed the faster pace of the fights in this game compared to other games. ---Lots of character movelist revisions, but much of it felt like it was still-in-progress (thankfully SCVI perfected a lot of that area). ---New characters were very interesting to play, but at the same time I think they lacked the same "spark" that older characters had, as they barely had any story to really go with. ---I'd say Zwei and Viola have the best stories in this game. ---For some random reason they put Devil Jin's style in this game??? ---Music is still some of the best I've heard from the series, despite everything else. ---Elysium is now my favorite character (you have to customize her to really appreciate her though).
Soul Calibur VI: ---WELL ROUNDED ROSTER, seriously! Probably the best roster since SCIII. ---FAST COMBAT RETURNS, AND REALLY GOOD MECHANICS. ---Despite what anyone says about Reversal Edge, it was a necessary evil to combat all the Impact Guarding nonsense. Get used to it, it's a good mechanic when you need it, especially against fast attackers. ---Has the most versatile customization menu in the series, all it needs is more weapons, stages, equipment parts, and a few more characters, and it will probably become flawless. ---Showcasing a character at different times of the day is helpful for getting the right clothing colors just right. ---Libra of Soul is not only fun as a quest mode and side story, but it's connected to the main story, and it's really good. And you can customize your weapons exactly how you want them this time! ---OLD MUSIC RETURNS... and you can listen to it while creating your characters... just what haven't they thought of??? ---The fatal hit/clothing destruction mechanics are actually quite satisfying once you learn how they work. There's even a menu that lets you preview how your character looks with their outfits busted, useful for designing characters perfectly. ---What I enjoy the most is the fact this game "cuts out all the unnecessary stuff" and actually uses character creation to create everything it needs for the story. ---As I said before, movelists feel perfected, I don't think they can get any better than they currently are. Even the harder characters feel "less of a chore" to play as compared to older games. ---Museum Mode is fun to read, and although it's not as scripted and interactive as older Museum mode is for SCIII, it's still informative and has plenty of info for fans of the series. ---Inferno feels like a Love-letter to all the Nightmare fans out there who loved all his gimmicks and wanted to play the best of everything he had to offer as a boss, symbolic of the Project Soul logo if you equip the Nightmare Armor! ---SCVI is probably the best of the series right now... worth getting every aspect of it.
Closing thoughts: ---I'd say I'm tied between SCIII and SCVI in terms of games I like the most... but I'm hoping SCVI starts to trump SCIV's visuals in terms of clothing and options. Here's hoping! ---Azwel feels like a more balance replacement for Algol, but I still want to see Soul Edge and Soul Calibur weapons return as equips for everyone. ---Having more malfested parts like Nightmare's arm as an equip would also be good (just in case you want to make monster characters). ---Having custom glow stuff like Tekken games have would also be cool. ---As a side note, it feels like they expanded Tira's bust size, I know they were inconsistent with other female characters like Sophitia and such, but it seems like they tweaked models a bit for fanservice or something. Oh well.

Sports Blog
The women’s singles tennis tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was held at the Olympic Tennis Centre in the Barra Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from August 6-13, 2016. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-iONJOk4NM)
Court Dimensions
Tennis courts are about 23.77m long and for single matches, 8.23m wide. For doubles, the court is about 10.97 wide. The court is divided into two equal areas by a net suspended by a cord or metal cable attached to two net posts. The net is 1.07m high and is fully extended to that it fills the space between the two nets posts. The net is 0.914m high at the center, where is held down tightly by a white strap. A white band covers the cord or metal cable and the top of the net.
Equipment
There are 7 basic equipment’s that are used in tennis which are:
Racket – Rackets can be made of many alloys or wood. There are no restrictions on the size or materials used in making a racket. It has an oval head and a gradually widening throat that connects the narrow handle with the head of the racket.
Ball - As per ITF rules, Tennis balls are yellow-colored spherical balls, with a diameter between 2.5 and 2.625 inches. They weigh between 2 and 21/16 oz. Pressurized rubber is used to make semi spherical half shells. They are then joined with compressed air between them.
Net - A rectangular net is used to separate the two sides of a Tennis court. The net should cover the space between the two net posts. The net is woven in such a way that it does not allow the Tennis ball to pass through. It is usually tied in about 3 feet above the ground at the center.
Wrist Bands - Wrist bands are worn around wrists to prevent sweat from wetting the players’ palm or the racket. A wet grip might not be strong.
Head Band - Headbands are used to absorb sweat. They also tie player’s hair away from their face. Any tight cap made of absorbent material can also be used instead of a head band.
Tennis Shoes - Running shoes don’t provide enough lateral support to players. Tennis shoes are designed to give players better stability and prevent them from sliding while moving sideways. Shoes shouldn’t damage the court when players move briskly across the court
Dress - Men wear T-Shirts or shirts made of materials like polyester that does not absorb sweat and keeps the player cool. They wear shorts that do not cover their knees. Though women are advised to wear just any comfortable dress, of late many Tennis champions try to make a style statement with their carefully designed clothes. Many players prefer wearing a tank top or a T-shirt on a short skirt.
Basic Skills
There are 6 basic skills in tennis which are: the serve, forehand groundstroke, backhand groundstroke, forehand volley, backhand volley, and the overhead smash.
Serve - A serve in tennis is the stroke used to start every point in a match. It is the only stroke in tennis that a player has complete control over and is therefore one of the most important shots in the game. A good serve allows the player serving to assert some control over how the point unfolds. This is because the server gets the first strike and based on the power, spin and shot placement can limit what the returning player can do.
Forehand groundstroke - A tennis forehand is one of the two types of groundstrokes. It refers to a shot performed from the baseline with the racket held in your dominant hand. For a right-handed player the forehand swing starts on the right side of your body, continues forward and across your body as you contact the ball (at this point the palm of your hand is turned away from your body), and finishes on the left side of your body.
Backhand groundstroke - A backhand in tennis is the other of the two types of groundstroke. It can be a one-handed and/or two-handed stroke. Like the forehand, the basic swing pattern starts on one side of your body, moves forward and across, and ends on the other side of your body. But unlike the forehand, the backhand is hit with the back of your dominant hand facing the direction of the stroke.
Forehand volley - The forehand volley is one of the two types of volleys. It is generally played closer to the net than other strokes. Like the forehand groundstroke, a forehand volley is hit with the racket in your dominant hand palm facing away from your body.
Backhand volley - The backhand volley is the other type of volley. Just like the forehand volley it’s usually hit quite close to the net.
Overhead smash - an overhead smash is a stroke where the player contacts the ball with the racquet above his or her head using a serve-like motion. This shot is commonly referred to as simply a smash or overhead and the two terms are interchangeable. The term smash or overhead usually refers to the “forehand smash” or “forehand overhead” as this is the most common form of the shot.
Technical and Tactical skills
From the practical perspective, a tennis player’s technique/skills will determine what that tennis player is consistently capable of doing with the tennis ball through different types of strokes (forehand, serve, backhand, slice, etc.), in a variety of practice situations and then during a variety of match situations. Some key words and terms here are “consistently” and “variety of practice and match situations.” This is because something could be classified as “highly-skilled” or “proficient,” only if it can be successfully repeated multiple times under different conditions (situations).
To be able to compete well in a match, a tennis player needs (besides specific tennis skills as described in the paragraphs above) to consider some of the tactical aspects of the game, such as understanding patterns of play (the geometry of play), higher versus lower percentage choices of plays/shots, and an opponent’s strengths and/or weaknesses, to mention a few important ones.
Rules of the game
A ball must land within bounds for play to continue; if a player hits the ball outside of bounds, this results in the loss of the point for them.
Players/teams cannot touch the net or posts or cross onto the opponent’s side.
Players/teams cannot carry the ball or catch it with the racquet.
Players cannot hit the ball twice.
Players must wait until the ball passes the net before they can return it.
A player that does not return a live ball before it bounces twice loses the point.
If the ball hits or touches the players, that counts as a penalty.
If the racquet leaves the hand or verbal abuse occurs, a penalty is given.
Any ball that bounces on the lines of boundary are considered good.
A serve must bounce first before the receiving player can return it.
How to officiate
Tennis officiating is comprised of a variety of different functions:
Line umpire - This official is primarily used at professional events. As a member of the on-court officiating team, the line umpire assists the Chair Umpire in determining if a ball falls within or outside of the boundaries of the court.
Chair Umpire - Responsible for all aspects of the match to which he/she is assigned, the chair umpire applies the Rules of Tennis, Code of Conduct, and Tournament Regulations on court, either as a solo chair umpire, or working with a lines crew.
Roving Umpire - The roving umpire exercises jurisdiction over more than one court at a time, in the case of matches played without a chair umpire. His/her duties are similar to those of a chair umpire – and also include working with the Tournament Committee to ensure that assigned courts are ready for play, resolving scoring disputes, controlling spectators, parents, and coaches.
Referee - The referee is the final on-site authority for the interpretation of the Tournament Rules, Code of Conduct, Rules of Tennis, and all aspects of play. The referee is an integral part of the Tournament Committee and ensures that the event is organized in a fair manner according to the Tennis Canada guidelines. All sanctioned events are required to have a referee on-site while play is in progress.
Chief of Officials - At larger, or professional events, the line and chair umpires are often hired and managed by a chief of officials, who may also be responsible for training and evaluation of the officials during the event.

Men’s Singles Sea Games 2019: Philippines vs. Thailand Review
The badminton sport can be played either in Singles or in Doubles. From the word Singles, the game consists of 1 versus 1 game, while Doubles consists of 2 versus 2 games. There are two categories of singles, the women’s and men's. While the doubles have three categories. The women’s, men’s and mixed which consist of a man and woman. The game that will be reviewed is men’s singles, which is Philippines vs. Thailand. The review will have five parts.
Court Dimension
The badminton court size consists of a total width of 20ft and a total length of 44 ft. And the length is divided into two equal parts, the center of which is the net, which is 22ft on each side.
Notice the lines in the picture, it is white but it could also be yellow. The purpose of these lines is to know if the shuttlecock has reached the limit where it should not go. There are different rules for the doubles and singles for this one. Like the doubles, the shuttlecock is out when it goes out from all of the lines in the court, while the single goes out from the sidelines and long service line for singles.
Equipment
Unlike the other sports, the types of equipment for badminton players are not that much compared to the other sports that I gave a review.
Equipment for the court
Badminton Net and poles: This is why a lot of people play badminton, the equipment needed is not that much. In the equipment for court, is the net so that the players will know if the ball reached the other team or it’s still in their space. And the pole is to make sure the shuttlecock is hit between the poles and to hold the net so that the net will not fall despite the players smashing the shuttlecock.
Equipment for the players
The following equipments are he ones that the reviewer noticed in the game.
Badminton Racket: The racket is used to hit the shuttle or shuttlecock, different sources use different terms for this. Without this, the game will have no sense at all because of the badminton game. Well, if you imagine the game without the badminton racket, it will be funny.
Shuttle or Shuttlecock or Birdie: The shuttle is like the ‘ball’ of the game wherein this is the one passed by the players. There are different rules on where the shuttle location is limited.
Badminton Shoes: The badminton shoes are important for your feet or you to prevent discomfort and injuries, given the fact that badminton requires agility and slight jumping. The badminton shoes depend if you will play indoor or outdoor, both have different parts to adapt to the environment.
Badminton Outfit: This is not at the level of the importance of the three pieces of equipment mentioned above. The badminton outfit is for the player to be comfortable while playing, with this the player will be able to play fast and will be comfortable, with no distractions in the game. Having the proper outfit for a sport may prevent discomforts and injuries.
Basic Skills
Six basic skills are needed in playing badminton will be discussed thoroughly below.
1.Grip
The grip is one of the important basic skills because the strength that you insert into your racket will be affected by your grip. There are two types of grip, there is the forehand and backhand grip. If you have noticed in the game, the player in the Philippines has a wrong grip that makes his ball go towards the net or out of the court. This is how important the grip is also given importance.
2. Serve
Serve is one of the important basic skills because this is the starting point of the game. It can give you a probability to have an additional score. Which depends on how good you serve. There are two types of services, the lower hand serve and backhand serve, each serve has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantage of a lower hand serve is that you can guarantee that the shuttlecock is inside the opponent's side and it is easier to do especially for a beginner. While its disadvantage is that a lower hand serve makes the ball higher, there is a possibility that the opponent will give you a perfect smash and it will tend to affect the opponent’s score. Backhand serve is more common in championship games or any badminton athlete. Its advantages are that you may control the ball wherever you want it to land and it makes the opponent difficult in receiving it. Its disadvantage is that this serve is prone to short serves. You may know what serve is the most appropriate to use if you learn the weakness of your opponent
3. Footwork
If you have noticed in the game, the player that represents Thailand can smoothly move from the back to the front because of his footwork. This is how important the footwork also is in playing volleyball. That’s why the player representing the Philippines usually doesn’t get the shuttle, it’s because of his footwork. It can affect his speed or agility in playing the game. There are different types of footwork on Singles Category, first is the V-Front which is where you are near the net and it forms a V shape, next is the V-Back which is the same as the first but is applicable in the back of the court, next is the Side, it is self-explanatory already it is footwork that is applicable for the side of the court, Lastly is the forward and backward footwork, this footwork is only applicable if you can’t go back in the middle of the court.
4. Stance
The stance is also important, not only for you to have a great amount of speed in moving but also for you to be able to see the shuttle. In the game, if you have noticed, the player that represents the Philippines was executing a bad stance resulting in him not being able to follow the ball.
5. Stroke
Stroke is not the stroke wherein people with heart problems experience, but the stroke that executes superior shots that can give us a big chance to earn points. There are three types, a player can use the forehand, backhand, or side shots wherein the place where the shuttle hits on the part of your racket which affects the finger that you use in doing it.
6. Smash
This is a kind of defense in Badminton. Doing this can make the player have an instant earn of points, the player that represents Thailand usually executes this. If you have noticed in the game, when the player that represents Thailand does smash, he usually wins the game with this. Because the player in the Philippines doesn’t have a good stance and footwork to be able to reply to this action.
This is how important the basic skills, not only the knowledge on how to execute them but to make all of the basic skills sync together in one player, makes the person have easy access to earn points.
Technical and Tactical Skills
Technical:
The player representing Thailand can execute the basic skills and can identify when to execute each of them for him to win the game. There are times that his emotions may disrupt him in executing them, but he regains them back again if you have noticed in the game.
While the player in the Philippines needs more training when it comes to technical skills because his execution of the basic skills is wrong. Especially when it comes to doing the basic skills simultaneously. The reason for this is the Philippines is not investing in the players, the player has the capabilities it’s just that the training is not enough because he executed the basic skills. There are a lot of times that the player is not able to control his strength on the racket, sometimes it goes to the net or even out of the court. Not only that, but he can’t also hit the shuttle a lot of times because of his footwork and stance. This shows how important the basic skills are in making you score in the game.
Tactical:
Once you know how to execute the basic skills and when to execute them simultaneously, your tactical skills will be an absolute win for you. Let’s take the player that represents Thailand as an example. Whenever the pacing of the game is slow, he makes it slow for a bit then suddenly smashes the shuttle making the opponent not be able to react that quickly because of the sudden change of pacing of the game. In the first set, the player’s move is predictable but in the second set, the player representing the Philippines was able to know how to react to his smash, he started to make his moves unpredictable. Knowing his opponent’s weaknesses and strengths during the game can be a very big help, the player is an absolute genius if you have noticed because studying the game takes time but with him after the opposing player got the technique after one or two losses, he changed his tactics. Impressive for me.
The player in the Philippines needs more training from the experts, with this he will be able to know what to do next on his move quickly and respond to the smashes or shots from the other player.
Rules of the Game
Unlike the other sports which have quite a lengthy list of rules, badminton is different from them, especially in the singles.
Let’s first talk about the scoring, if you have observed, a player should earn 21 points to finish the first set. There are two sets, but if both are equal, there will be the third set. And the score is only 15 points. If both of the players are still equal, there will be a decision made.
A player can score if the opponent hits the shuttle out or towards the net or if you can land the shuttle unto the opponent's court and the opponent cannot hit it.
In serving, the player should serve diagonally depending on the scores that’s why in the game if you have noticed, they executed this. As you can see in the game if the player won a point then it’s an even number then the serving will be on the right side, while an odd number is on the left side. There are no second chances in serving. If you are not able to execute it properly, the score will go to the opponent without any effort coming from him.
In serving, the players should hit underarm or below the server’s waist. Not executing this can lead to the opponent gaining points.
When the shuttle or shuttlecock is ‘alive’, the player can move everywhere in the court, even out of the playing area. Unlike the other sports, there are a lot of rules about this. But if you won’t catch up with the shuttle outside the playing area, you will earn points, so it’s better not to catch the shuttle when it is out of the playing area.
Just like volleyball, touching the net is not allowed, if you do the point goes to the opponent, just like earlier without any effort made by the opponent.
All the games are overlooked by the referee/umpire who sits on a high chair and by line judges. The referee will be the one who manages the calls about infringements of faults.
The players can only rest two times in the game. After the first set, the player can rest 90 seconds and 5 minutes rest after the second set.
How to Officiate the Game
Umpire: The ‘main judge’ of a badminton game. The umpire has a lot of power for he or she can overrule the decision that is made by the judge or the line judges. The main goal of the umpire is to ensure that the game is smooth, with no delays. The umpire is also responsible for looking at the faults committed and making a flat call.
Service Judge: The service judge is the one who makes a ‘service fault’ call and gives shuttles to the players. This can be also a job for the umpire, but it may depend on the officials.
Line Judges: Line judges sit beside the badminton court to overlook the game if the shuttle is inside or outside the boundaries of the court.
Now that you know the following responsibilities of the different officials of badminton, you should know the following signs that the judges do in the game and what it means to have a better understanding.
The picture above means that the server took too much to serve, the judge will swing their right arm to the left that means that they penalize the player.
The picture above means that the server’s feel should not touch any lines in the court and the server and receiver should stand diagonally opposite on each other, both should not be within the outbounds of the court lines.
This sign is usually present if the serving that the server did is at fault, which means that the shuttle is striked above his waist. We usually see this in international games.
In serving, the handles of the racket should face the ground because if not, the service judge will call this a violation.
If you have noticed in the game, the lines judges usually execute this which means that the shuttle is outside the line of the court.
This one is also made by the line judges, earlier it was outside the court, but now it lands inside the lines of the court.
Note: The author doesn’t intend to own the copyright of the following pictures.

Bug Run 5: A Clean Victory
There was something I needed to do before going any further in this game.
I made a little visit to the Name Rater.
Truth is, I was never satisfied with the nickname I gave my Galvantula OR my Crustle. For Galvantula, it was just such a plain and common name, and she deserved better. For Crustle, her name was alright, but a little too long and awkward to say outloud, you know?
After christening the new names, we were prepared to tackle anything!
However, the moment I took a step toward my next destination, I ran into my rival. The encounter was a tad unnerving, which is the only reason I bother to mention it here. Tonka took care of my rival’s bird with Rollout just fine, so that wasn’t so bad. (Yes, I know. I still had Rollout. What can I say? It takes a while for Scoliopede to earn its better moves, and in the meantime, a rock move really is darn useful.)
It was Emboar that worried me. This was the first time I was facing it fully evolved, and the thing is damn intimidating even for a very balanced team, let alone a mono-bug one. My newly-named Crustle, Gaia, went toe-to-toe with the massive swine, dishing out Rock Slides. Emboar decided to use Rollout and start powering the move up on me. So that was a pretty scary moment. Thankfully, Gaia did not miss any of her Rock Slides, and the pig went down. The last foe, that water monkey, was trivial when I had a Leavanny with Leaf Blade.
The next gym we faced was the dragon-themed gym with Drayden. I noticed there was a big of a level jump with that gym, though, with just the gym trainers outlevelling my team. So I decided to do a little grinding beforehand. In our travels I taught Volcarona Psychic, because at this point, the poor moth’s moveset is still quite terrible. (It still had String Shot and Whirlwind, for pete’s sake.) I also taught my Galvantula Thunder and … well, Flash. I didn’t want to teach it Flash, but I was wandering around a cave attempting to reach some TMs. Sadly, a roadblock prevented me from ultimately getting the TM, but we’ll talk more about that later.
After a little training, the fight with Drayden wasn’t too bad. Ra took out Druddigon with Psychic, Green Bean got a 2HKO on Flygon with Leaf Blade– after a lucky miss with Flygon’s Rock Slide– and Tonka took on the big boy Haxorous with a combination of Toxic and Venoshocks.
After finishing off the dragon gym, we’re treating to another piece of the plot with Team Plasma. Some giant steampunky ship shoots ice cannons at the city, there’s a lot of running around and shouting over some “DNA Splicers,” and lots of grinding on Plasma grunts. The usual.
I MUST take important note of one event that took place in the midst of all this, though. As I was running back and forth between Pokecenters and the Plasma ship, I ran into a random trainer with just a Crustle. And it wiped out my entire team.
The problem had been it got off two Shell Smashes and I hadn’t been paying it close attention and was fooling about. So, naturally, it outsped everything and destroyed us with rocks. Also, I was super dumb and forgot my Galvantula had Sucker Punch. (Look, it was really late at night and I was tired and being stoop.)
Wounded by this experience, I took a lengthy side-quest to grind for Blue Shards by losing many times at the World Tournament (they give shards as consolation prizes) so I could visit the Move Tutor and give my Scolipede Superpower. This is actually only neutral on Crustle and in the end I still needed to use my own Crustle v. Crustle to take care of the foe cleanly, but. Still. Superpower would end up proving very important on my Scoliopede. I suspected as much, as it was excellent coverage for a team largely lacking coverage.
Anyway. I finally reached the Colress fight.
This was a fun one. I had to actually think very carefully about his team. Colress opens with a Magnemite that loves to thunder wave and then Volt Switch. I eventually decided to try equipping Green Bean with a Cheri Berry and getting up a Swords Dance. Then he just stubbornly hacked away with his Leaf Blade. This is a very difficult approach, but it was important for someone to take out the ‘easy’ pokemon so I could save my other pokes for the tougher ones. Colress used a Full Restore once on Magnemite, so after that, I did the same for Green Bean. Then continue with the Leaf Blades. Green Bean somehow barely takes two Flash Cannons to the face and finishes Magnemite off, in red health and paralyzed, but alive. He did a very good job.
Next, Magnezone came out. This one was for Tonka. Superpower brought it to the low yellow, and then Magnezone thunder waves. I have to take a big hit, but a second Superpower takes Magnezone out.
Beheeyem is the easiest for my team to cope with, being pure Psychic with low defense. It does Calm Mind, which can be scary, but I can easily take it out before it does anything awful; Gaia just X-Scissors it to death.
Metang, on the other hand, is not easy. Zen Headbutt messes with Tonka, Meteor Mash cuts through Gaia and gives scary boosts, and the thing has ROCK SLIDE to add insult to injury; plus Agility. With a Steel typing, it resisted a lot of crap, too.The trick, as it turns out, was fucking it up fast and hard with F-Zero’s Thunder before it could do much damage. Thunder brought it to the low yellow and luckily paralyzed it; Signal Beam finished it off.
The ace was Klinklang. I find it odd this pokemon is pure steel when it has so many electric moves, but okay. F-Zero uses Thunder, which brings it into the yellow and paralyzes again (whoo!). Klinklang Shift Gears. I know it resists bug so I need to Thunder again; unfortunately I get the miss. However, the foe gets paralyzed. I Thunder again and finish things off.
It was a good battle, but Team Plasma wasn’t finished quite yet. We run into the true man behind the scenes, the foul abusive-parent Ghetsis, and chase him off his ship and into some backwater cave somewhere.
Then N shows up, there’s some drama with legendery dragons, and Ghetsis is very cranky about the whole thing. Without giving us a chance to even save or anything, he launches right into attacking us.
Not gonna lie, this last fight is exciting and the music is damn good. It feels high-stakes.
Ra was first out, since I’d just used him to take care of Kyurem. He was able to take care of Confagrigis with some Psychics– although we had to get toxiced and put up with a full restore, but held on long enough to take it out. A special defense drop did help us.
Next out was Hydreigon; Green Bean used X-Scissor. After that was Eelektross, and I was fearing the Flamethrower, so I sent out Gaia. It’s a bit rough, with thunderbolts and acrobatics, but it never actually pulls out the flamethrower and I finish it off. After that is Seismetoad; that’s easy as pie with a grass move.
Drapion is out next, and I really want to use Psychic on it, but Ra is pretty weak from his long fight with Confagrigis. I try it out, but he’s outsped, as I suspected. Dang. I send out Green Bean next, and take it out with three X-Scissors.
Toxicroak is handled cleanly with Thunder. And then that’s it!
In retrospect, the battle didn’t give me any trouble. But somehow they still made it feel exciting. Possibly it’s just because I remember the fight vs. Ghetsis from original Black/White, which really left an impression on me.
(Lord N was there to talk to me after the battle. Still love him so much.)
After the Plasma plot wraps up, we move on to Victory Road. And that’s when I run into some trouble.
See, the plan all along had been to add my sixth and final teammember at Victory Road. That is where Durant, a super-late-game bug, hangs out. The problem is, I was playing Pokemon White 2, and apparently they tweaked it so that you can’t even reach Durant until post-game.
That really stinks! I have no idea why they did that, but I decided I wasn’t going to let a technicality like that slow me down. Like previous game runs I’ve done, if a particular version I was playing didn’t technically have full access to the species I needed for a bug run, I … bent the rules slightly.
So we snuck into Clay Tunnel. This trip was only for one thing: capture a Durant. We grabbed the first one we saw. She was lovely, and we named her Kolibri. She didn’t have Hustle, and honestly? I think I’m ok with that. Missing is pretty darn annoying.
Once we had our final team member, it was all about going through Victory Road and doing a little grinding. We met our rival one last time along the way. His Emboar was tough enough by now that it could shrug off Gaia’s Rock Slides. So I went with a new tactic, using Volcarona’s Psychic. The rest was easy enough to deal with. Then it was on to the Elites!
(MIGHTY BUG POWER DETECTED!)
Unfortunately, I made a mistake when I was grinding before facing the Elites. I thought they would be around level 60, so I brought my team all to level 60. As it turns out, no. They were all in the high 50s. So I was ever-so-slightly overlevelled.
Not a huge deal, but it is a shame. I really prefer to never be over-levelled, even by a little bit. Unfortunately there wasn’t much I could do about it.
The Elites were not too hard. Shauntal’s fight was kind of fun. Ra took on Confagrigis with Heat Waves, but got a Spec. Def drop with a Shadow Ball, so I had to switch out when Chandelure came in. I decided to bring Tonka in. As cruel as it sounds, Tonka was kind of expendable against this particular team. I got a Toxic off before going down, though. Ra came back in to blast with Psychics for neutral damage, but unfortunately the darn thing was hitting all its Fire Blasts and it got a crit, so Ra went down. Luckily it was injured enough that F-Zero could finish things off. Golurk was easy pickings for a Leaf Blade, and Drifblim went down to a Thunder.
Marshal fight had Tonka doing some work on the opening Throh. I feared Guts on Conkeldurr, and sent out Kolibri; however, it did not fare well against those Hammer Arms. Thankfully those moves dropped Conk’s speed, though, so I felt safe bringing Ra in, even against the inevitable Full Restore, and I could just Psychic. (See, at the time, I didn’t realize that thing is actually slow as dirt anyway.) The rest of the team was an easy clean-up, especially when Meinshao misses its High-Jump Kick and I put a Rock Wrecker in its face.
It may not be very effective, but nobody’s surviving a boulder to the face at half health.
Since the other two Elites are Psychic and Dark type, I don’t think I even need to bother mentioning their fights. With a full team of Bug types, it was pretty trivial to get through.
The Champion battle was decently difficult, so I was glad it wasn’t too anti-climactic. Tonka used X-Scissor on Hydreigon and managed to tank a Flamethrower– in the very low yellow health, after Leftovers. He finished the dragon off and Druddigon was out next. I honestly forget what I did with that fellah. I probably used F-Zero against him. Aggron was out next, so I went with my special attacker Ra. Heat Wave did a respectable chunk, but Rock Slide was, of course, a death sentence for Volcarona. Knowing that the Full Restore was incoming, I sent Tonka out and potioned up too. Then I used Superpower, which ALMOST killed. Tonka goes down and I clean up with F-Zero.
Archeops is next; one Rock Wrecker is all it takes, after Gaia survives the Rock Slide. Very happy Gaia hit all of her Rock Wreckers when she needed to.
Lapras was a bit of a troll. I sent out F-Zero, confidant in one-shotting the beast with Thunder, but it didn’t quite kill and it used freaking Hypnosis on me. Urgh. Swapped over to Kolibri and took a Surf very badly but finished Lapras off.
Finally, the ace, Haxorous. I sent out Green Bean. It was a tough choice, knowing this thing was probably going to Dragon Dance, and that was pretty scary. She could have easily gotten her late-game sweep if I let things get out of hand; my team was already weakened a bunch. I decided to get a Reflect up. I think that ultimately saved my butt. It did use Dragon Dance as predicted, and Green Bean used one X-Scissor before going down to an X-Scissor of Haxorous’ own. Then I sent the low-health Gaia in. He managed to survive the Earthquake thanks to Reflect and finished Haxorous off with an X-Scissor. (Yes, that’s an awful lot of X-Scissors going ‘round, but to be fair, this *is* a mono bug team)
And that’s it for Pokemon White 2! It was a fun little romp, but I admit it was very easy. I did expect that, though. Oh well! Maybe next time, if I’m hunting for a challenge, I can do that all-Vivillon run of X/Y I keep considering. :P

Floral & Fading (Pierce The Veil Fanfiction)
youtube
(This was the first band slash PTV fanfic that I’ve ever made, so please forgive me if it’s terrible and nonsensical and not what you really expected.)
"D-d-d-darker now, kicked out and sleeping in your car, you rolled the window down, enough to dream and make-believe..."
"That's it, stop it! Pierce...whatever, you're outta here! Go on, we're closed! Everybody out! You're wrecking the place!"
The harsh reprimand of the bowling alley owner rang out, exasperated and palpably angry, and Jaime could perfectly and very much tell why.
Standing in the carnage of musical instruments and debris of bowling equipment alike, their band sign hanging off on one corner with half already in shards on the floor, holding splintered parts of what used to be a bass guitar, and staring at a rowdy crowd that had been shoving and pushing at each other the entire time, the owner's rage towards the sheepish band was easily understandable.
Jaime wasn't sure how Pierce the Veil was allotted to perform here in the first place, considering that their post-hardcore music wasn't really the appropriate ambiance to a bowling alley, and they were forced to wear such weird clothes (Mike laughed at his older brother's atrocious green floral shirt that he fished out of his dad's closet for ten minutes straight), and the owner didn't even know what the hell their band name was ("He announced it with the enthusiasm of a vendor selling tacos in a deserted place under the torpor heat of the summer Mexico sun", Jaime observed. "Oh great, now I want tacos", another voice inside his head complained), but all he knew for certain was that this was quite unexpected.
"For a bunch of people living in '69, these guys sure do party hard." Jaime thought, uttering a low whistle as he surveyed the wreckage of the chaotic room.
Not only had he and his bandmates completely trashed the place, they also managed to influence the people to join in with it as well, and what once was a group of peaceful weekend bowling players had turned into youth-crazy moshers that threw articles of intimate clothing, allowed crowdsurfing and mosh pits, nearly ripped the band members apart (two of them tore out their drummer's sleeves, "but," Jaime internally snickered, "with Mike's big guns, who freakin' wouldn't?"), poured juice punch on each other (Jaime could see a girl smiling at them wryly without a care of the sticky beverage that dripped and coloured her hair a vivid blue), pulled the fire alarms and lit up their lighters inside the place, and ultimately ("and most importantly", Jaime noted), they enjoyed and allowed themselves to lose control to their music.
"So all in all, not a bad gig." Jaime concluded with a satisfied grin. He looked over to Vic, Mike, and Tony, all exhausted, sweaty, and holding destroyed instruments alike, but also with the same enthused smiles lighted up on their faces.
Celebratory high fives were passed around the band members, but before Jaime could give one to an expectant Tony, the owner's stern face emerged in front of them, his nostrils flared and his voluminous belly rising up and down steadily, smoke appearing to come out of his ears, startling the band out of their gregarious reverie.
"You damn brats, still happy about wrecking this place. I regret ever knowin' your name. No you boys better get out of here before I get you a damn good whacking to and slam your sorry little asses in jail!" The owner threatened, waving at them the remaining microphone stand that was still actually standing and almost tripping on the wires in the process.
"Sooooo...does this mean we don't get paid?" Vic asked innocently, a cute charming smile emblazoned on his face, doe eyes wide and sparkly, every uttered word in the sentence dripping with sass. Behind him, Jaime chuckled audibly, Tony grinned so wide it seemed the corners of his lips would split open, and Mike covered his mouth with one heavily-tattooed hand to stifle his laughter.
The owner only glared at them poisonously, radiating nothing but sheer hate and venom out of his eyes, and shoved them all out of the way, causing a little domino effect to the band and nearly tripping on the wire yet again, as he muttered various colourful profanities, most likely endowing the worst curses known to man and monsters upon the Mexicans. He shook his meaty fist once more before going past the outbalanced band members, and grabbed a broom to commence cleaning up the mess that they made.
"Great gig. Great time. Great job, guys." Mike praised his fellow band members, as they packed up and salvaged what little they can from their smashed equipment, but not before he added a grim "We still need money to buy new instruments though, and since Vic here killed off any chance of us getting paid, well..."
"Thank you Mike, that reeeeaaally boosted our morale." Tony replied sardonically with a laugh.
Vic, pretending to be hurt, indignantly glared at his younger brother with a sulking pout. "We weren't getting paid anyways, Mikey. It didn't hurt to ask."
"Hey, hey, I'm just kidding bro. Hell, I don't blame you anyways. I've always wanted to wreck the living shit out of my drums! I mean, who doesn't? It's the adrenaline, man, it gets you. This was awesome, you guys. P-T-V!" Mike ranted on happily, as they all cheered out in enthusiastic replies of "Wooooh!"
"Well, I take it that's a wrap?" Vic quipped cheekily. He was answered with an affirming chorus of "Oh yeah", "Guess so", and from Jaime, accompanied with an audibly rumbling stomach, "Anyone else also craving tacos right now?"
Jaime's out-of-place remark and hunger pangs gave Vic an idea for a fun little prank. He acted all excited, suddenly pointed out to a random corner, and shouted "Hey look Jaime, a taco stand giving food away for free!"
"Where?!" As Jaime's head frantically whipped to face where Vic was pointing, Vic glanced furtively at Tony and made silent finger motions, signaling for him to trip up Jaime. Tony understood immediately, and he surreptitiously crouched behind Jaime and positioned himself by his feet, waiting for the right moment.
"Oh, you know, it's just there Hime, if you'd just, like, I don't know, back up a little, maybe you'd see clearer or something, y'know..." Mike improvised, buying for time, and Vic facepalmed behind Jaime's back and mouthed "That didn't make sense bro." to him.
But despite Mike's lame assurances, Jaime still obediently obliged with his instructions and ambled a step backward. His legs caught on the crouching turtle by his legs, and he began to topple backfirst, arms thrashing about wildly as he tried to break his fall.
"Gotcha again, Jaime!" Vic said triumphantly, earning him victorious high fives and rounds of raucous laughter from Mike and Tony.
But due to unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances, Jaime's head accidentally contacted a nearby bowling ball (ironically, it was the yellow one that he tossed at one of Mike's drums earlier and nearly hit Tony), and he heard a sickening crack, as Vic, Tony, and Mike's laughs instantly dissipated and they immediately rushed to his side.
Jaime felt himself losing consciousness quickly, and his vision blurred and faded as he saw his friends' concerned faces looming over him, Vic frantically waving a hand to his face and calling out his name.
"Jaime? Jaime??? Jaaaaiiimmeeeeee..."
~*~
Jaime jolted awake at the sound of singing invading his ears, and his eyes fluttered open and he found himself curled up in a couch, his bass guitar cuddled up next to him, a fan-gifted monkey pillow strewn on his stomach, and an abandoned floral pattern notebook lying facedown by his limply-hanging fingertips.
The rest of the band was simply chilling out; Mike lounging next to him as he clutched a coffee mug in one hand and twirled a drumstick in the other, Vic looking at his ink scribbles with a pensive visage and a badly-chewed pen stuck between his teeth, making little vocal warm-ups with their names (at the moment, he was singing out "Hayyyymeeyyyy skunnkkkk"), and Tony softly strumming notes at random on a battered acoustic guitar.
Jaime remembered his dream and his hand immediately shot up to his hair, as if to feel the phantom of a nightmarish afro that never was, and he sighed a little too loudly in relief as he felt only the soft spikes of his hedgehog hair. He rubbed his bleary eyes as he examined the appearances of his fellow bandmates' hairstyles with mingled scepticism and doubt.
Watching this event unfold, the trio's questioning stares immediately pierced (pun very much intended) through the scrutinising Jaime, but it was Vic who asked the question first.
"You okay there, Jaime?" he said, momentarily ceasing with his playful vocal warm-ups, his inquiry slightly garbled by the writing instrument clamped between his mouth.
"Dude, I just had the weirdest dream..." Jaime started.
Mike snorted into his mug at amusement at Jaime's revelation, spinning the drumstick more furiously and throwing it in the air. "Expect Jaime to be so cliche."
Tony glanced at him with a raised eyebrow and retorted "And expect you to be the one breaking the fourth wall." Mike stuck out his tongue at Tony in reply, and he failed to catch the drumstick, the wooden stick clattering noisily on the floor.
But Jaime seemed not to hear them both as he leered at Mike's short hair, hidden under his black beanie, analysed Tony's expertly messed sticky-uppy hair and Key Street cap lying by his side, and finally settled to concentrating and peering at Vic's long and flowing hair as if it was an art exhibit.
Vic finally noticed Jaime's strange stare and stared back with questioning eyes. "Why are you looking at me like that? Something wrong with my hair? Is my hat not on straight? Or do you just not like my hat? Again?" Vic badgered endlessly, his voice taking on a concerned tone, running his hand throughout his head to check for anything weird.
Jaime said nothing to clear things out as he slowly reached out to feel for Vic's hair. Mike took a sip of his drink absentmindedly and flipped his drumstick as he watched blankly, engrossed by the scene, and Tony had an exasperated expression that sighed out a silent "Oh, Jaime, here we go again."
Jaime grabbed one end of Vic's hair and started tugging at it, as if testing for it's legitimacy.
"Ow! Jaime! What the hell?" Vic exclaimed, slapping Jaime's hand away. By coincidence, Tony hit a sour note on the guitar as he was distracted by the unfolding events, making a sound that added for comedic effect.
"Your hair...it's normal." Jaime lamely replied.
Vic squinted in suspicion as he ran his fingers over his locks to fix his hair. "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
Jaime closed his eyes and nodded in alleviated affirmation. "Oh it's good dude. It's good. It's just, well, just that dream..."
"Well, what dream? Don't keep us in suspense, Hime-time." Vic prompted eagerly, setting down his abused pen and rumpled notebook on the desk and dragging his chair closer to Jaime. Mike and Tony set down the instruments they were holding and leaned in closer to listen in as well.
Jaime sighed extravagantly once again and began to narrate. "It was like...we were having a concert in a frigging bowling alley...you had short hair and a stupid floral shirt...Mike was wearing this nerdy-ass sweater and vest, I don't know what it was...Tony was crowdsurfing on a bunch of weirdly-dressed people...and I had cotton ball for a hair...it was sick though, we smashed our instruments in the end, and oh, I nearly hit Tony with a bowling ball!"
Tony glared at Jaime in mock disdain. "Something you wanna say to me, Jaime?"
"And me! Did you just call my clothes nerdy?" Mike put in indignantly.
"You tripped me up and made me smash my skull on a bowling ball, Tony, so I'd say we're pretty much even. And also Mike, Vic was wearing a long-sleeved green floral pattern shirt and ironed beige pants and stupid hard shoes and he had short hair that looked like it was shaped out of clay, so there." Jaime explained in a flat tone to both offended parties, not missing a beat.
Tony simply made a 'seems legit' face and nodded. "Touche, Preciado."
Mike, on the other hand, stared at his older brother for a couple seconds, as if picturing Vic in the horrible clothes Jaime described, but his should-be bellowing laugh was reduced to a strained snort as Vic glared back at him venomously with a look that said "Don't you dare Michael."
Jaime carried on with his story gracelessly as he fumbled for the words, unable to describe the dream properly. "Anyways, it was just—I don't know, but it was like...a time travel or something...I don't know man...it was 1969!" He finally declared. Mike couldn't hold in his laughter anymore at the final part, and he began to double over laughing, strained wheeze escaping his throat like a squeaky balloon losing air.
"Aw dude, did you just marathon Back To The Future...again? Look, I know you wanna be the next Mexican Marty McFly, and we support that dream of yours, even if you don't look too good in bodywarmers, but...that's just askin' for it." Vic sympathetically apprehended with a little shake of his head. His maternal and disappointed tone of voice made Tony crack up, and Vic finally dropped his stern parent act and joined in with the mirth.
"But it was! I swear! 1969! A lady! Threw her bra at me!" Jaime punctuated almost pleadingly, his voice drowned out by the chaos of laughter.
His hysterical bandmates only laughed even harder at the bra throwing part, and Vic had to jump out of his seat and whack his younger brother in the back with immense force because he promptly choked on his drink, as the slapstick-looking act made Tony's smile grow impossibly wider.
"Yeah right, like that would ever happen. Keep on dreaming, Jaime." Vic deadpan quipped with a pokerfaced expression. Jaime finally stopped sulking and succumbed to the contagious hilarity and sheer ludicrousness of it all, dimples popping up as his laugh echoed the loudest inside the room.
After everyone had calmed down and managed to catch their breath, the place was filled with silent contentment and lingering traces of entertained expressions on their faces. Mike went to the kitchen to place his mug in the sink (but accidentally brought the drumstick with the mug instead of the spoon, which made for a very interesting story later on at band practice, when he accidentally ripped the skin off his snare drum with the metal utensil), Tony returned to fiddling with his guitar as he quietly played Dammit by Blink-182, and Vic held his pen and paper once again, but before he turned away to continue writing, he said softly to Jaime, this time with an earnest smile.
"Keep on dreaming, Jaime."
"Our lights knocked out, turned upside-down, I'm just a stupid motherfucker, can't figure it out."

An unwanted offering. (Part 3)
(Swear warning)
Bendy ran to the projector room hoping to find Sammy there. “That motherfucker thinks he can just kill my girlfriend and get way with it? I don’t think so bud!”
He ran up the stairs that led to the projection area, but Sammy wasn’t there. “Where’d you go you little bitch?!”
He looked down and saw that the hidden room with the switch for the pipes was open, but that wasn’t the only thing that caught his attention. The door behind the mic was open as well.
“Huh? What are you up to now Sammy?” He jumped down and crawled between the board blocking the small area and the ceiling and through the door, there he saw more music and recording equipment.
“Huh, so that’s what’s in this room.. Wait! Stay focused Bendy!” He slapped himself on the face, trying to get his focus back. He ran to the other side of the room looking for any sign of Sammy.
“Scripts, music, character sheets. But no Sammy. Come on out Sammy, "your lord” has something to say to you!“ He kept searching but couldn’t find him. He then opened a door to a room full of episode posters. "Wow.. So this is where all the posters come from. No point in having them now, they’re useless-” He stopped and stared. In front of him he saw Alice’s “Sent From Above” poster, pasted on the wall with a slight tilt.
“A-Alice..” He could feel his inky heart break even more, and tears starting to form. He walked closer to it and placed his hand on it. “Why.. Why did this happen? Why was Sammy such a fool to think I would be happy with this?” He put his head against the wall and cried. Remembering the wacky adventures they would go on in the cartoon, their first meeting when they were brought to life, the songs they used to sing, their first kiss..
“A-Alice! Why?! …. Alice..” He sat down with his hand still on the poster, crying enough tears to fill a small river. “WHY?!” He could feel his rage coming back. He sat up and took the poster off of the wall, being careful not to rip it, and placed it under his bowtie. “Now.. Where are you Sammy?” His voice got lower.
His eyes became hypnotic swirls from the rage he felt, and he began to grow his claws again. He ran to the next room, but found nothing. “WHERE ARE YOU HIDING?! I swear Sammy, if you don’t come out right now, I’ll burn this whole place down!” He threatened, knowing Ink and wood were flammable. Just then he heard a noise.
“Ah-ha! There you are!” He ran towards the sound, feeling so sure it was Sammy. He moved a barrel that was blocking the figure. “GOT'CHA!” The figure was looking away from Bendy, even though he knew he was there. He turned around and Bendy saw he cut a mouth in another Bendy cutout and put it on, but noticed it wasn’t the normal Bendy, in fact it wasn’t the same one at all. He cut a prototype Bendy cutout. The head was smaller and more round, the horns were more chubby, the eyes were more oval, and his smile was smaller. It also had small bushy eyebrows.
“What the?! What the fuck are you wearing?” Bendy was very confused by his old design. “It’s you my lord! Or, at least the old you. You see, every character goes through changes while being created right?” “Right..?” “Well, this was your design from 1929, the first design Henry and Joey decided on.” “And this has to do with you killing Alice.. How?..” He remembered he was still holding the barrel up. “Say, Sammy? You know what a great idea is right now? Me beating you to death with this barrel!” “My lord, NO!” Bendy raised the barrel up more. “I swear I didn’t know you would be upset! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!”
“Well, Sammy. You should have thought twice before you made the idiot decision to piss a demon off!” “My lord, you’re a savior! Saviors are supposed to forgive!” “Well I’m not forgiving anyone anymore.” He smashed the barrel on top of Sammy and heard a loud splat. “… I know you’re still alive bitch.” He held up has hand and waited for Sammy to reform “Uuhgh.. I’m sorry my lord.. I can make you another!” “I don’t want another Sammy! I want the real Alice back, the original Alice!” He slashed him with his claws and sliced the mask into several pieces. “AHHH!” My lord please stop!“
He kept slashing him until he was just a small puddle again. "HAHAHAHA! I hope you’re burning in hell!” He began to laugh maniacally, eventually breaking down into tears again and falling to his knees. “Why did you have to do this, Sammy? You know I loved her..”
Meanwhile, Boris was sitting in the room Alice was killed in, weeping and whining. “Why is miss Alice dead? What happened?.. Is it my fault?” He had so many questions. “Bendy will never be the same again… He’s probably going to kill us all!” He started to become scared of what Bendy was going to do next. Just then he got an idea. “Wait a minute.. That book, The Illusion of Living! Maybe it has some answers!” He began to run to the first floor to find the book, hoping he could find a way to bring Alice back.
Bendy was still crying uncontrollably while holding onto the Alice poster. “ALICE! WHY?!” He kept yelling the same thing over and over again until he was exhausted, he eventually cried himself to sleep. Not knowing someone was watching him..
Henry was trying to find a way out of the studio, trying to avoid ink monsters known as Searchers. “Where am I? I don’t remember these rooms being here! In fact, I don’t remember there being more that two floors! A lot has changed since I was here..” *Clink* “What? Who’s there?” He didn’t know what was going to be around the corner, but he tried to stay calm. “Henry..” The voice sounded weak and scared “What do you want? And who are you? How do you know my name?” “Henry…” The voice got louder, and then a figure appeared. It had a human shaped torso, arms and head. The legs were melting so it had to crawl. It also was made of ink but some skin was visible, along with some ginger hair. “What the?!” "HENRY… HELP ME!“ "Who are you?!” Henry didn’t know what to think, the thing knew him!
“Henry it’s me, Wally! Help me, please!” He was melting and was in immense pain. “WALLY?!” Henry was shocked, his old janitor friend was dying right in front of him! “How- How do I help you?!” “Find the book that Joey used.. The Illusion of Living.. It will have the answers. He’s done this to all of us!” He then fainted from the pain. But Henry didn’t know if he wanted him to wake up, just to feel the pain again. “The book? Wait.. The one I used for the offering?! Don’t worry Wally, I’m going to help you and everyone else!” He went to find a entrance to the first floor.
I’m sorry it’s so short! I couldn’t think of much for this part.. >.< And Sorry if some parts seem random. Who will get the book first? Who will it be used on? All this and more in the next episode of Dragon Ball Z! I’m sorry, I’ll leave now..
