Crowley and Job

I'm sure this has been written before but I haven't read it so here's my thesis:

The Job minisode is a metaphor for Crowley.

The Job minisode shows us that this God is willing to put her favourites through significant pain, to have them lose everything, to carry out the ineffable plan. In fact, God considers their favourites to be the only ones able to endure this and remain "faithful" or "good." Funny that, as we see Crowley - a Demon who has every reason to hate God and do a lot of evil - continually showing himself to have a stronger moral compass than the Archangels.

Job is stripped of absolutely everything he has, one after another. Starting with his livelihood, his possessions, his home and finally his most loved thing - his children (sounding familiar at all?). Crowley loses his status, his identity, his job, his flat and ultimately Aziraphale.

Job is angry but not at God, he's angry at himself. He questions how much he must have done wrong to not even know what it is he did (sound familiar?)

When Job talks to God at the end, the first thing she says to him is "You have questions for me Job?" and then she responds with a series of questions back to him. She isn't angry at him asking questions.

He then returns to Sitis, a broken man, to be saved by an Angel and a Demon who reinstate his children to him, having kept them safe the entire time.

How fortunate for God that a particular Angel and Demon pair have quietly ensured that some of the most disturbing plans of Heaven and Hell have never made it to fruition.

How interesting that we see Crowley going through each of the pains of Job.

At the end of S2, Crowley is metaphorically sitting, head in hands, wondering what he did that was so wrong to deserve this.

What if the answer is nothing? What if the answer is he did everything right?

from the moment Osysa said "No one cares about you" in season 2, to Scanlan meeting Kaylie, and his efforts in this season to reach out to her messing up despite him really trying and wanting to connect with her, and no one but Pike actually caring about that or even asking him about it, how Vex said "Nobody gives a shit!" and it took Scanlan and Mythcarver to save Percy from J'mon Sa Ord's punishment but Scanlan was left out of the group hug

GOD they are building up to a brutal payoff and I so look forward to my heart getting ripped out of my chest by Sam Riegel when it happens

So yeah yeah, Honda Odyssey, blah blah blah. But remember the iconic "maximum effort" highway scene in Deadpool? Whose balls did he say he fondled? No, he didn't specify, but what rhyme did he use? "Pulverine." Is that just me, or does it sound eerily similar to one of the ship names for Logan and Wade, "Poolverine?" IS THIS FORESHADOWING THE HONDA ODYSSEY?!

[Legend of Zelda] Tears of the Kingdom - Happy (belated) 1st Anniversary!

A day or so late but here we are! This is a sequel to my 2023 BotW Anniversary artwork.

Can't believe that it has a whole year since TotK's release. Fun fact about me, I took a day (and later on, a week) off from work just for TotK's release because of how hyperfixated I was with intense TotK hype at the time. I ended up going feral for a good month and by the time I completed the main story, I acculumated 300+ hours on my first playthough.

I have a lot of thoughts and critiques about Tears of the Kingdom but that's for a separate post. I have a lot of WIPs and ideas for TotK content to make so please keep an eye for them!

Vox Machina overanalyzing ramblings part 4.

Me again, these rambling posts are becoming my therapy until centain white hair boy comes back to iluminate our lives again lol

So, Percy's death has been haunting me these last days, something that all the fandom is experiencing together, I'm not especial, I know, but there was something that was really bothering me about Percy's expression when Vex found him, and after thinking and seeing other posts comparing all the deaths/close to death moments in the show so far, I think I know what it is.

Look at Percy when he's taking his last beath

He looks so sad and defeated, his last thought is of Vex walking away after he confessed his love for her. And yeah, even if he knows Vex loves him, watching her not being able to say it back because she is so afraid of how that can change the team dynamic, afraid that her love will harm him, and whatever other excuse she makes in her head, she walking away still hurts.

I was expecting Percy's death expression to look like Keyleth when she almost died saving Vex in s1, like this:

(damn Vex, how many death people have you hold in your arms? lmao)

Look at Keyleth's eyes, they look hollow, vacant, she almost looks apathetic. But Percy's ended up looking like this:

His eyes are hollow, but his expression looks... scared, terrified. Those are the eyes of a man that is horrified of something.

This is what is been haunting me, the fact that Percy died scared because is his last moments, he saw Orthax taking him away, Orthax whispering all the things he'll do to his soul for all eternity. That bitch crow demon couldn't even give him a moment of peace before starting the torture on his soul.

God, I can't wait for VM to fucking destroy Orthax for good, is going to be so cathartic.

(Not sure if anyone else notice the eyes thing or is just an animation choice and I'm just overanalyzing things but it really feels like a foreshadow of what is really happening to Percy atm that everybody will look back and point after the season is over)
