Kittrissance: The Movie

As part of the Kittrissance, I rewatched Kit's movie and firstly, Stanley Tucci. That's it, just the amazingness that is Stanley Tucci. Also, I love the collection movie tie ins. It's like watching toys come to life without using my imagination.

Second, I watched the hobo storyline with new eyes. It was interesting how the hobos are the scapegoats for the ills of society, especially by those who consider themselves the "good people". In the case of the movie, the hobos are deliberately set up to take the fall for the crime ring. It felt like it was a story for our time even if it was filmed fifteen years ago though I guess it was REALLY a story for that time considering the housing bubble burst.

Third, my dad overheard me talking about hobos and got all bent out of shape and I had to explain that I was not talking about currently unhoused people but people described as hobos in an American Girl movie about the Great Depression which is at least in part historically accurate. "Oh okay then," he said.

Yeppers!  Sir Snobbin’s little mistake (helped along by a certain dead goat’s contract) got the Apple Clan an INCONTESTABLE settlement of 30,000gold bits on the forclosure of Sir Snobbins’s own estate for the gravel grading and storage facility.  Since their taxes were being paid at the same time as Sir Snobbin’s they did, in fact become involved in the paperwork  mix up and get paid by him in addition to the settlement!

Through his Non Equine magic, Grumpy clobbered a bad pony, (always a plus to him), saved Sweet Apple Acres, and got AJ 30,000gold bits just when they were most in need of money.  All at the horrible cost to AJ of making Grumpy two pies and a batch of apple fritters.

A Hylaeus (Masked Bee) of some kind of the female gender from somewhere in Kenya from Laurence Packer's extensive bee collection up in York, Ontario.  I spent about 10 days once upon a time up in Laurence's lab just taking cool bee pictures.  Those pictures became a small Laurence and Sam book (now out of print) which can be summarized as cool bees with cool stories from a couple of Bee Hunters.  This is a left over picture that did not make book grade, my notes are who knows where and I only have the notion that it is some sort of masked bee.  A relatively successful genus with 761 names recorded on the Discoverlife Bee Species Finder Page (https://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?guide=Apoidea_species&flags=HAS: ) definitely worth spending some downtime looking at all the fascinating combinations of country and bee genera totals (and loads more taxonomic fun).

Hi guys. My family has fallen behind on paying our property taxes so a bid has been placed on our house. We have until the end of this month to pay over 6k in fees or else our house will be purchased by the bank. My family and I have no where else to go. Also my brother moved back home with his son and school will be starting soon for him. I don’t know how we will explain to him after coming back here that we no longer have a place to stay.

I understand that times are tough for everyone but even if you can’t donate please share my campaign. Even sharing it on facebook/twitter would be a big help.
