When the Sinegard 4 are on road trips, Rin insists on making Playlists. Nezha objects heavily but is then caught shazaming one of Rin's songs and is promptly made fun of.

Kitay loves Gorrilaz and The Strokes

Venka has a playlist for every woman she has a thing with. Every time she has a new fling, she just changes the name of the playlist to her current lover. She's re-used this playlist multiple times now.

While Nezha and Rin are alone. One of Nezha's playlists are on shuffle, Ariana Grande comes on, and they both look at each other awkwardly, and Nezha changes the song. if there were multiple other people around, Rin would make fun of him. But she can't do it when they are alone, so she just ignores it (could you imagine if like 34+35 came on LMAO)

Rin secretly listens to Lana Del Rey, Kitay catches her and gives her a knowing look.

Whenever Ramsa gets handed the aux, he almost always plays megolavania. Everyone yells at him to turn it off, but then they see him sulking and feel bad, so they let him play it anyway

The Cike have a karaoke night every month, and they almost always get kicked out of the room because they are too chaotic

Building from that, Rin and Suni's go-to karaoke song is 'Your Man' by Josh Turner.' They sing this together. This always sends Chaghan into a breakdown because it somehow upsets something in the spirit world. (Idk it's something about "🎶baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low🎶 That sends Chaghan into a screaming fit) And to get them to stop, he fights Rin. 6/10 times this is why they get kicked out

Rare Richter section of a page! It’s also a Mesmerizer reference 💀💀💀. I was gonna draw Alucard to compliment this, but I completely forgot and had already put other things on the page next to it so eeeehhhh. Richter’s hair is very fun, but I draw it differently every time. Then again I feel like it’s probably a texture where it kinda curls at a certain length and goes everywhere, so it works. I like to think that he’d always had it short enough that it didn’t curl before SotN and was surprised lol.

Yay drawing characters you like doing things you do part 2, Simon is drawing :3. He’d probably draw like some of the most violent and concerning but technically impressive imagery and then follow that up immediately with a page of cute animals and some character (idk I’ve already made him play Project Diva in this post let’s say Rin or Miku as an example lmao)

Why I like this dude: NNK in general is very precious to me. Oliver's magical journey is a great exploration of grief, denial, and escapism. A lot of it is Oliver having to be brave and learning how to cope. He's just a little guy, and he makes a lot of friends, and he helps others cope with their losses and they help him with his. It's very touching. Even after discovering that his mother can't be saved after all, his journey has been in vain, he continues anyway, because there's others he can still save. BUT by god you HAVE to control Oliver in battle otherwise his AI will instantly kill him by whacking enemies with a stick and getting punted for it.

Geo Stellar (Megaman Star Force): Ever since his father's disappearance, Geo has been a shut-in. Lethargic and with no friends, he only finds solace in the stars. On one such stargazing night, an alien by the name Omega-Xis, or Mega for short, drops into Geo's transceiver. Now with the ability to fuse with Mega to become Megaman, Geo can traverse the digital world, fight of bugs, and stop the aliens on Mega's trail for a mysterious object called the "Andromeda Key." Maybe with this power, he'll unravel the mystery of his father's disappearance into space...

Why I like this dude: Megaman Star Force is an exploration of depression made kid friendly. Geo is, without a doubt, depressed as all hell for most of the game. His classmates keep barging in on him to get him to go to school, but all he cares about is SPACE. But Mega needles him into going out, into interacting with others (and also life-threatening situations), and Geo is still withdrawn by the end of it, but he's a little braver, a little friendlier, and he wants to keep living. Like, explaining depression to 8 year olds. It's really touching to know this character exists?

#writing fic isn't a job and comments aren't a salary #and if it starts to feel that way then you might be experiencing burnout #and it could be time for a rest - or to think about one anyway #I obviously don't know your situation #but that's what it was for me

I'm going to start this post off by saying that I write fic, and I know the pain of putting something out there and not getting a response. It sucks and it hurts and it puts a dent in my self-confidence. If I have the choice between posting a work on AO3 and getting only comments or posting a work on AO3 and getting only kudos, I'll probably choose comments let's say 8 times out of 10.

But with that in mind, posts that attempt to shame or guilt readers into commenting don't actually work.

Negative reinforcement (in the form of shame, guilt, or other worse emotions) doesn't make anyone want to do the thing. It just makes them want to avoid the guilt, etc. Rather than encouraging someone to talk to you about your writing, you're making that person want to avoid you so that they don't have to feel bad. That's just human nature.

I've said before that I think a lot of writers are looking for community rather than comments, and I still think that's true. The reason I love both writing and receiving comments is because it makes me feel like I've made a connection with someone. I may never know their real name or what they look like or where they live or anything else but what fandom we have in common, but we've reached out to each other in this text-based medium and we've shared words that made each other feel something.

I know that these posts are written out of frustration or loneliness or needing support or a hundred other reasons I could list off the top of my head. But when I read "you should be grateful for the things I give you and show me proper appreciation" it just reminds me of my parents telling me to clean my room or to follow the rules while I live under their roof.

It's so much more vulnerable to admit, "I don't know if this story is any good and I really wish someone would reassure me right now."

It's much harder to say, "I feel so alone in this fandom, and I want to make friends with someone."

It's difficult to admit, "I worked so hard on this for so long and I'm so tired, but if someone out there likes it then all of that effort will be worthwhile - and if no one says anything, then I'll feel like my effort was wasted."

I'm not trying to shame the people who made those posts, and if that's how this comes across then I'm sorry. I'm just trying to explain why I think those posts will harm more than they help.

I also hope that any readers who see this post will understand that those writers are just people who are feeling a lot of different ways, and they're venting their frustrations. I've been there. I've reblogged those posts before when I was feeling frustrated like that too.

i spent upwards of two weeks working on these, and i'm really happy with them! it was a bit like putting myself in character design boot camp because it forced me to rethink how i do everything from a more "intentional" angle rather than just arbitrary choices.

i may do some future single-layer ones of other characters, but... i need a break.

Since I’ve been encouraged to actually share my funny little blorbo ideas here’s another one gang;

Danny moves to Gotham on scholarship for engineering, because the Fentons may be infamous but they’re also insanely brilliant and besides both he and Jazz are showing every sign of embarrassed child of a super genius syndrome, so while the bats are keeping a close eye on him Just In Case, duke is also thinking of introducing him to the Our Parents Are Maniacs But Anyway club maybe after the first month or so.

Gotham does not go for standard dorm living bc of his ‘condition’ and lack of wanting to constantly spook/gaslight a roommate. Besides, living with two small children is a dorm sounds like a disaster in action.

So Danny signs up as a mechanic in Crime Alley, buys himself a teeny weensy lil apartment and Makes It Work. He has been all year after showing up with a de aged Dani and Dan in Amnity after all, and that had gone,,, fine? (The entire town, observing how Danny had been getting increasingly more uncomfortable around his godfather prior to the cloning incident, then just dropped off the face of the earth for several months, the first two weeks stuck in Vlad’s basement enduring horrors and the next Too Many desperately fapping around in the Ghost Zone to get everything handled. All the clones live, all 13 of them. Bunch of them are stuck in the Ghost Zone due to constant need for ectoplasm, but eh, plenty of Zone born never leave, so. One, in the future, apprentices under a green warrior lady on Pandora’s suggestion, another is working in the Eternal Library with Ghost Writer, etc etc. so Danny eventually came back to Amnity with one small child under each arm very obviously traumatized by Somethingn with vlad and doesn’t like being alone with him,,, or touched without warning,, and immediately and passionately proclaims the kids his but struggles to explain how or why,, look some very reasonable assumptions are drawn okay. So the town does the very reasonable thing and does the midwestern equivilant of excommunicating Vlad, except it’s a lot more run him out with pitchforks vibes since he’s the Mayor. Anyway)

He is immediately loved, because while non Gothamites are usually more of a pain than they’re worth, everyone in a while someone even from out of town will just fit in so nicely it’s uncanny for everyone involved. Addams family vibes, it’s referred to as ‘making it home’, just personal hc. He is protective of all the kids playing in the parks and street girls that can totally take care of themselves on their corners but find it HILARIOUS when he just tackles a dick like a wild animal full force no warning. He can fix anything it seems, but refuses to work with weapons. Reasonable enough, people get twitchy about gangs sometimes. Danny mentions being not against Hood or anything, but he’s not going to work for him, littles to take care of and all, but had past experience with ‘Dora and that inheritance mess with her brother he was being a real prick about’ so everyone assumes it’s the equivilant of him having Done His Time and being plenty good for a life time and respects it as long as none of that petty midwestern small town hotshots bring any of that shit over here. And they don’t, because said individuals are on the other side of the mortal veil, so happy day.

See I really love deaged!Dan because he’s just a grumpy lil guy. But he’s also killed millions. He’s so protective of his loved ones, but held back by blending in and also being Smol that it comes off more bitey kitten than anything else. Dani, of course, is a terror, so she fits right in with the crowd.

And sorry gang, but a bunch of kids on their own in Gotham in a poor side of the city just isn’t going to get any attention: that’s just business as usual really. What first gets attention on Danny is not his ‘condition’ or being mistaken for a meta (which he legally probs has an argument for even without the gene bc like these bitches don’t know how metaism works anyway so) or alien (I’m 90% sure he’d be covered by the alien protection act by virtue of being half ‘not from earth’), but because Danny despite best efforts is a Weird Guy.

He grew up in what could only be described as a low level villain level and spent most of high school dealing with smack downs and spiritual invasion. He’s never really processed that any of that is not in fact Normal. Also, he’s capable of making Anything if given the insides of a toaster, blender and alarm clock, and could probably rewrite the circuits of the apartment blindfolded and improve them 1000% even if it ABSOLUTELY would not be up to code.

And sure, things slip every once in a while, bits of spectral ice here, small floating incident there, but everyone just Minds Their Buisness ya know? You really gunna mess with the guy that personally ensured that when your car got flattened by a fight with Killer Croc, you were still able to get in to work the next day by some wizardry? Really?

But Gotham is a city so cursed it’s probably in the exponents countwise, so of course there is a) a flourishing community of magic users and assorted supernatural weirdos and b) a whole lot of shit for Mega Overpowered Ghost King Danny to idly pick at day to day in order to help with his protecting other Obsession. Gotham has plenty of heroes, but by god do they need the spiritual equivilant of an electrician/priest.

Still, Danny, as a baby ancient under a facet of Kronos and KING OF THE DEAD is like, way, way out of their scope to be able to grok, so it mostly just comes off as you know, a family of banshees or something. When asked, Danny very haltingly says he was briefly dead but then revived, which neatly explains his Weird Ass aura and makes it SPECTACULARLY AWKWARD to ask further about. So everyone nods politely, and goes back to their lives after double checking no nefarious bullshit was being pulled.

Then, of course, Vlad finally tracks them down. The whole neighborhood is altered in short order because he doesn’t bother trying to hide being a Rich Bitch or how he’s sneering down his nose at people on the sidewalk. Every connects the dots when Danny paniks. Dani and Dan’s daycare are staffed with some extra, very buff set of hands within the hour. Jerry, Hood’s third in command, personally shows up to the garage Danny is working at to talk things out with him bc he knows he does t like the deal with this stuff due to past unspecified circumstances but well, they guys had already started fucking with him, you see. Stole his tires, spray painted the windows, pickpocketed him blind, and when he retreated tipped off the police to the drugs they’d planted in the glove box.

Danny might not have been born in Gotham, but he was one of them. And the Alley takes care of it own.
