Important note for mobile users, you don't actually need tumblrsavior to do this!
All you need to do is go to your account settings, scroll to "Filtered post content" and input their username. This will filter
all their original posts
all mentions of their username
threads where they made an addition
posts that were directly reblogged from them (unfortunately, these get caught up too)
I always thought this option was common knowledge, but apparently it's not..? It's especially useful since new users and artists who don't speak english are notoriously inconsistent about tagging, which normally means their posts slip between the cracks with the "filter tags" settings.
Another thing I recently realized you should do is look up the translation of various ship names in other writing systems, since they might not use the english equivalent. Also, remember that depending on character dynamic and "who tops", the order of the names in the shipname gets swapped! So you actually have to block two tags per ship. Alright happy filtering MWAH!!
East Asian fanartists are starting to migrate back to Tumblr because Twitter is insane, toxic, and dying, and what we're NOT going to do is let the fucking exclusionists get them, do you hear me? We are not going to let a bunch of feral idiots try to apply the most myopic version of puritanism to foreign artists we're not we're not we're not. Form an armed brigade if you have to, do you hear me. We're not going to bully the artists who may or may not even speak English because we have our precious standards of moral purity. If we see art that makes us uncomfy we're going to block the artist and tumblr savior their name so we don't have to see them again AND WE'RE GONNA MOVE THE FUCK ON.
#for the love of all stop harassing and doxxing people over cartoons#i will hold your hand and help you curate this stuff as many times as i have to just.#half of my twitter blacklist is made up out of a dozen different ways to say s4nsp4py and fr4ns in like 4 different writing systems#they had a ship week some months ago with a ship every day and i had to stay on my homepage the whole time#because literally EVERY ea artist i followed participated. even when they didn't draw f0ntcest. it was inescapable.#and the filter over there only works on homepage and not while checking accounts of in the search page#which is fucking stupid. but that's twitter's fault alone. so i filtered what i hadn't filtered yet. muted what fell through the cracks.#and moved on with my day. it's literally that easy#*anime girl pose* stay out of discourse ✌🏻✨ for the love of god take it from me#no more harassing people no more fighting with 15 year olds online ENOUGH!!!!!

Big Hero 6 The Series: It could have been better
Hello, friends. Today, I will be analyzing a TV series based on a movie that I fell in love with for its colourful themes, deep plot, compelling characters, great CGI and memorable messages. Before I get into it, I want to take a moment to say that I have quit doing videos. They are too big of a pain in the petunia to make and I write better than I speak, so I will stick to writing essays, reviews and more. Anyway, onto the analysis.
All I can say about Big Hero 6 the series is that it had a great concept, it presented some great ideas and tried hard to be a cartoon of the times, but it could have and should have been a lot better. The show’s downfall all centers around trying too hard to be kid friendly which makes the shame sting all the more because Big Hero 6 was already kid friendly even with its dark themes, sharp edges and intelligent writing. If anything, even the brightest kid friendly cartoons (Steven Universe, She-Ra, etc.) had those things and actually benefitted from them. By needlessly trying too hard, character development got scrapped, the edges were all smoothed out, storytelling was subpar, the humour was too silly and the executive meddling in the end produced a dismal final season. However, I don’t want this analysis to be one lengthy negative rant about how awful the series was because in its defense, awful is an unfair word. It did have potential and ideas which are worth carrying over to a reboot that I hope will be done someday in the future. Also, we should root for a reboot because Big Hero 6 would not be the first story that needs it before striking gold. Just look at how many times Spider-Man was rebooted in film before MCU found the version that worked. Anyway, I will list all the things in Big Hero 6 that could have been better in my opinion;
1- Go easy on the laughs and be more generous with the action. - I love adding comedy to my own writing because I think a good sense of humour makes everything better, but Big Hero 6 is not a stand up comedy routine. It is a superhero story where we expect action, suspense and life or death situations that are to be taken seriously first. The comedy should be for relief and with the right timing. Also, the chibi cutscenes and having characters act like fools aren’t funny. Ren and Stimpy are the exception not the standard and their way of making you laugh doesn’t fit an action series. In a show as big as Big Hero 6, real life physics and danger matters.
2- Make the villains menacing and gritty. - I admit that after having a movie villain like Yokai who was the stuff of nightmares, it is going to be a challenging act to follow, but it was obvious that the writers were trying especially with some villains who could have easily gone into some dark relatable territory. For example, Mr. Sparkles (the gentleman in the photo above) embodies social media and Internet personalities. Right off the bat, you have a long list of things which embody the dark side of that like scams, fraud, using social media to dox or harass, driving people to suicide, online predators, the Internet personalities being very depressed people in real life, and much more horrifying things. When you stop and look at it, Mr. Sparkles even looks like the Joker which hints how dark and scary he could have been if the stops were removed. The same goes for enemies like Hardlight who embodies online gaming, Liv with cloning, Obake an amoral and insane scientist, and Trina and Noodle Burger Boy (more on him later) being evil robots. Globby especially should have been painted and written in much darker colours rather being played off for laughs because he has many parallels with Clay Face. The only two villains who I can say were supposed to be campy, charming and comical were Baron Von Steamer and Supersonic Sue because they were a satire of the Adam West style villains.
The rest of them needed to be dark and threatening including Mr. Sparkles. In fact, I would love a rebooted version of Mr. Sparkles who gives me the heebie-jeebies. Going back to Noodle Burger Boy, I must confess that I was actually excited when I heard that he was going to be the main villain of the final season because I thought he was going to fulfill his master’s final wish and as a reminder, Noodle Burger Boy was based on a super robot for military purposes.
It would have been fantastic if Noodle Burger Boy was upgraded into a full military war machine with a new threatening look. For that, I think all of the villains deserve to be rebooted and have their full potential unlocked for better or for worse.
3- A show about geniuses merits genius level art quality. - I am usually forgiving towards art styles, but in the case of Big Hero 6, the oversimplified style with minimal details and lack of textures did not suit the show. The characters blend in with the background which makes them look flat and the special effects were extremely dulled down. I also know for a fact that Disney can do a lot better than this because I saw how superbly Tangled the Series was drawn.
You can see and almost feel the difference in quality, the number of layers and level of detail between the two styles. I think there was no excuse Big Hero 6 was not done in the same style and at the same level if not better as Tangled.
3- Don’t dumb down or flanderize amazing characters. - I absolutely detest it when characters are flanderized because it makes them one dimensional and grating. For example, Go Go is tough as nails and extremely calm, but she is not cold or hesitant towards helping her friends. She doesn’t require very special episodes for us to know that. If anything, the movie version of Go Go reminded me a lot of Garnet in how she deconstructed the broody character. She isn’t cold or emotionless. Just calm and mature. Another good example was how Honey Lemon was rewritten to be overly positive to the point of toxicity, naïve and oblivious with a juvenile obsession with stickers. Then you have poor Fred who was rewritten to be an incompetent fool. The spark that makes Big Hero 6 shine is that they are a team of geniuses meaning they are all intelligent. Even Fred is genius in his own way just not a scientific one. He has a vivid imagination, he is resourceful and can get himself out of tight spots. Please, don’t turn characters into dummies especially if their intelligence is a part of them. It doesn’t make them better or funnier. It ruins them.
4- Tadashi needs closure and honour. - I am all for Hiro making peace with the loss of his brother, but Tadashi is to the Big Hero 6 team what Uncle Ben was to Spider-Man. His loss was the catalyst if not the reason. He should never be forgotten. Moreover, there was never any true closure to him especially with the possibility that he may still be alive up in the air. After all, like Callaghan, his body was never found and it turned out that Callaghan was still alive.
With that said, who is to say that Tadashi was not secretly still alive and just hiding or being hidden? This is something that Disney really needed to clear up if not for the fans, then at least as a service to such an important character. Never just forget about them.
5- The format can only be episodic with a deep plots, continuity and character development. - Random episodes with a mere monster of the day is an outdated format which doesn’t fit Big Hero 6′s modern and bright setting. In seasons 1 and 2, when the episodes were plot heavy with character development, the series shined brightest. It also helped move the story along, but with the final season, plot was removed, closure was abandoned or poorly written if any was given, and characters were disallowed from growing. A good example at how plot and character development could have made this series and its characters better was the relationship between Hiro and Megan. Would it have truly survived or would they have broken up?
Would Richardson Mole have eventually lost interest in his obsession with besting and bullying Fred or would his obsession consume him compelling him to become a super villain? I do see quite a few similarities between Mole and Reverse Flash.
Then you have Karmi who is in my opinion, the biggest wild card of the bunch. She was intentionally introduced as an arrogant, prickly and unlikable yet complex character who rivaled Hiro bitterly.
Yet had a huge crush on his alter ego and as time went on, started to grow up and even form a friendship with Hiro. What would have happened further down the road with her? Would she have become a super hero herself? Or maybe even another love interest for Hiro kind of like how Black Cat is for Spider-Man?
Is Obake really gone?
What does the future hold Diana (Liv’s clone), Liv herself or the Sycorax the genetics company?
Is Alistair Krei going to become an ally to Big Hero 6 or an antagonist? There is also the issue at how little we know about the other Big Hero 6 characters other than Fred, Hiro and Baymax. What are Honey Lemon, Wasabi and Go Go’s backstories? These questions matter and while not every mystery can be solved, leaving none of them solved is lazy writing.
6- Executives, kindly stay out of the writing and any other part of the creative process. - I’m sorry, execs, but there is no nice way to say it. History itself proves that every time executives got involved in the creative process of any media, it got worse not better. Leave the writing to the creative team and the execs should only handle the legal stuff. Please. We understand that TV is a business, but writing itself is not. It is an art which you just don’t have a talent for. Let the creative people do their thing with the freedom necessary and you do your thing, deal? Deal.
7- Focus on Hiro and Baymax. - The are the main characters so keep them at the heart of the series no matter what happens around them. That is all I can say.
And that sums up all the things that could have made Big Hero 6 the series better, but this is all just my opinion. What is yours?
PS: I am well aware that the Big Hero 6 series is being retconned because a new series called Baymax is in the works as well as the long awaited sequel to the first movie. I am looking forward to both with an open mind. PPS: I also am aware that some people liked this show the way it was including the art style and I am cool with that. An analysis for art that includes cartoons is never right or wrong. It is solely based on opinion. I may have thought this series could have been better, but there are people who make arguments that it could have been worse.

I stopped responding to additions to @yakuwuza’s callout for me because there is absolutely no point, as she will always try to find a way to twist the narrative so that I am never, ever in the right and she is the victim always. She’s 27 years old and LET ME REMIND YOU, this all started last year over kin drama. This shit is fucking ridiculous.
But I’ll respond to bits and pieces here. (CW: mentions/discussion of pedophilia)
I’m not a fucking pedophile. I’m literally not attracted to kids. I’m a fucking csa survivor for christ’s sake. It’s fucking insane that you would accuse someone of pedophilia based on 2 (two) tumblr posts by them talking about:
1. Two teenage characters having their first sexual act together, which Nico claimed to be “child erotica”:
The vaguely sexual nature of this post is pretty clearly not the point. Were you ever a teenager in love? Were you ever a teenager that had (consensual and loving) sex for the first time? Bc I sure was a teen who experienced all that once, and I fucking relate! This is literally not child erotica. You literally had to reach so hard and twist so much shit around to claim it is.
2. A fucking ecchi anime. Seriously it’s a goddamn cartoon. I literally watch it because it’s really fucking goofy and lighthearted and makes me laugh, which is what I need rn considering all the shit I’m going through (that I no longer talk about anywhere on the internet because you will find a way to literally victim blame me for it, every single time. because that’s what abusers do. they try to make their victims look like the “REAL” abuser. that is exactly what nico does.)
The anime in question is Ishuzoku Reviewers, an anime about some dudes visiting brothels run by different fantasy species/with different gimmicks and reviewing them:
I’m not claiming it’s woke. It’s a horny ecchi anime! But literally every single character is 18+. For what it is, it’s pretty self aware- and again, fucking funny. Nico ADMITS to never having seen it for herself or looked into it at all, she literally just looked at the art style and went “must be lolicon!” when it’s not. Styles can be cutesy, characters can be drawn cutesy, and they aren’t automatically children. Like fuck dude, I get told I look like a 16/17 year old pretty often! Chronic baby face problems. Does that mean that anyone who has fucked me is a pedophile because clearly they want to fuck 16/17 year olds? No.
Nico constantly refuses to accept any ounce of nuance about any given situation. Nico constantly rejects the idea that she could ever be wrong about anything. Nico is a fucking dangerous person, not only because of her obsessive and frankly abusive tendencies, but because of her ignorance and ability -and willingness- to twist things around so violently.
There’s more coming from a few different fronts here soon. I’m not being silent anymore, I’m not just going to wait for this to roll over- bc it clearly won’t. We’ve collected enough info to let everyone know the sort of person she and the people in the group chat with her are. The sort of people that dox, obsess, stalk, manipulate, abuse, and harass.

Look, I know I came off pretty fucking heated from this initial post, but you gotta understand - Pikamee isn’t just a “talking jpeg”, she’s just another person, like you or me. There are people behind those avatars, y’know.
She had a rough fucking childhood growing up in Japan, mostly due in part to the fact that she was Half American/Half Japanese, so she was bullied RELENTLESSLY. She grows up with this vitriol constantly lobbed her way, and so she escapes into streaming, finding acceptance and love from Westerners who find her charming and fun to watch.
She’s the antithesis to your average Social Media consumer. She’s not without her flaws, sure, and some folks may consider her acceptance of LoliSho art distasteful (but some of y’all got brainworms and dive off the deep end on that topic), and that’s fine. (except for those of you mentioned before. It’s a goddamn drawing. let’s not trivialize actual trauma by pretending cartoons play any part in that)
But y’all went and turned into the exact same people she had to deal with growing up, you put her through those hellish school days all over again. And over what? A video game? Instead of just saying “Hey, maybe don’t.” and leaving it at that (because Japan, believe it or not, tends to ignore the nontroversies occurring in the west, or giving it a glance and an eye-roll), you people brigaded her, dogpiled her, screamed threats and harassment down her throat until she finally fucking hit a breaking point and vanished off the net for three goddamn weeks.
Over. A Video Game, I’d like to reiterate.
I’ve seen the word “Parasocial” tossed at me a few times, and…no? I don’t feel any sort of personal attachment towards Pikamee, Silvervale, or any other streamer you people have basically tried to lynch online. What I see, is a group of bullies trying to push other people around, without actual cause, or even the slightest hint of guilt, or SHRED of self-awareness. I don’t like bullies. I was bullied growing up, see? I can relate to them, yes, but that’s about it. I just don’t like bullies and mob mentality.
And worse yet, you go flying off the handle over rumors, speculation, and allegations. Not proof, no smoking guns, just rumor and hearsay surrounding the game’s plot and development.
Hell, I’m willing to bet a good chunk of you Twitter Freak Apologists liked or shared that shitty Kotaku article that dropped, colorfully rewording “Harassment”, “Doxxing”, and “Sending Death Threats” to “Lightly Criticized”, “Educated”, and “Shared Discomfort”.
Y’all need to learn that there’s a fine line for what’s socially acceptable behavior, even online, and stop crossing that line so fucking liberally.
As a parting note, remember: The fact that Hogwarts Legacy is currently holding the record for Largest Launch Sales Figures for a game? That’s on you. You braindead, terminally online zoomers caused a Streisand Effect so massive, it may as well be renamed to the Rowling Effect at this point.
You People are Fucking Disgusting, Unwashed Fungoids in Desperate Need of a Shower.
All Pikamee wanted to do was play a fucking game. But Nooo, you shitheads had to become “CAPTAIN PROGRESSIVE! HARASSER OF THE EVERYDAY PERSON!”
Her crime? She wanted to play the stupid wizard game…and you fucking brainlets chose to harass and bully her until she cancelled the stream.
You realize, when you pull shit like this, it makes your side look like a big ol’ massive fucking pile of mentally damaged psychopaths, right?
Right?

If you want the people who disagree with you all the time to respect you, well respect has to be earned, you cas't just demand it.
When I got this anon the other day, I ultimately decided to ignore it, because I knew it was almost certainly from the same person who sent me these (x x x), as well as several other pieces of anonymous hatemail that I chose to ignore; as well as almost certainly from one of the same two people (BBSAS and anubianpagan) who I am 99% sure run that anonymous chickenshit drama blog that, ultimately, does nothing but provide a platform for racist, self-righteous cowards to be racist, self-righteous cowards. However, since I just saw in my notes that this same blog has tagged me once again, I decided that I may as well go ahead and give this anon the answer I would give it if I genuinely believed that the sender wanted a conversation about my MO when it comes to what I mean by “respect” and how yall can expect me to treat “””people who disagree with me all the time”””” (read: crypto-fascists and their “centrist” or in some cases, “classically liberal” enablers).
This is gonna be a long one, so buckle up:
I treat internet arguments that I either start or stumble into, first by giving the other person the benefit of the doubt, and assuming that whatever the disagreement is, is probably a matter of misinformation or miscommunication. Most of the conflicts I deal with online and irl seem to boil down to this in some way, shape, or form, so these days the first thing I do in a confrontation is show my opponent the basic respect of assuming that they are a rational, free-thinking, intelligent person with the best of intentions who just doesn’t know what they’re talking about as well as they think they do. People get very very angry with me when I let on that that is what I think is happening, so I usually try to give them the information and perspectives that I have without being mean or smug. This is also the stage where I sometimes find out that I don’t know what I’m talking about as well as I thought I do; and while it’s usually not fun to find that out, and the other person is usually very smug and mean when they tell me, I’m proud to announce that I have the basic respect for myself, my opponents, and objective fuckin’ reality that I have no problem posting publicly, “I stand corrected; my opponent was right and I was wrong” when I have been convinced, either through hard evidence or persuasive arguments, that I was wrong about something. In fact, I have a tag specifically for admitting i’m wrong and apologizing on both my tumblr blogs (x x).
The thing is, often, no amount of sharing information or clarifying my political, philosophical, or personal reasons for taking a certain stance on something, will cause the other person to back off or admit they may have been wrong about something. When I realize that I’m dealing with someone who has already decided what they believe and is just going to waste my time by regurgitating points that they obviously heard either on some edgy adult cartoon show that they clearly believe is not just “funny”, but the holder of some kind of deep moral philosophical wisdom; or on some online meme page that, either knowingly or unknowingly, posts literal crypto-fascist propaganda (here’s where i plug a youtube series that has been invaluable in helping me learn to recognize crypto-fascists, in our community and outside of it; no, this particular youtube series is not my only source on this topic; it’s just the one I think is best for this context)…when I realize that is the situation, I once again extend my opponent the basic respect of assuming that they are a rational, free-thinking, intelligent person who has decided, for whatever reason, to believe the things that they believe. I give them credit for believing the things that they argue in favor of, the things that they send me hatemail for criticizing them for, that they are so fucking furious about that they decide the only way they can possibly deal with the alleged authoritarian injustice of me writing and posting things online, is going around and anonymously, desperately trying to get people to believe that I am crazy, or an immature “child”, or a liar, or a dangerous violent extremist, or in league with A/pep itself. Or, usually, all of the above.
I respect them enough to treat them as what they are telling me, both with their words and actions, that they are. And I treat them with all of the “””respect””” that is due to somebody who acts and behaves that way: almost none. As in, so little that I have absolutely no interest in engaging with you or your ideas in any kind of a serious “debate”. So little that I am not interested in meeting whatever standards you may choose to list so that I may, as you say, “””earn your respect”””. In fact, I respect you so little that I am not and will not ever genuinely “demand” your “respect”, because I do not want to be “respected” by you and others like you. I aspire to have as little to do with you as possible. I aspire to prevent you from hurting me, or my friends, or my family, or my neighbors with your racist, fear-mongering bullshit. I aspire to make you change your mind about acting on the things you are telling me you believe; your *~*~opinions~*~* about why you say and do the things you do do not matter to me at all.
Some may say this attitude is mean or unfair. I say that this attitude is simply me refusing to play the respectability politics game, no matter how much anybody whines and screams and cries anonymously, anywhere online. Some may say that this is about me “lacking the emotional maturity” to deal with you and your ilk. I say that this is about me having the compassion for, and solidarity with, and basic respect for the marginalized and oppressed in the Kemetic community that is required to look at someone saying something like, “Hey, what if it’s actually okay to be racist so long as we say we’re not being racist,” and tell them to either shut the fuck up or leave.
Here’s the thing. The advice that virtually every single adult I have ever talked to, and DEFINITELY every single Internet Polytheist Leader Person, gives me for these situations -the situation of dealing with a would-be bully, either on the school playground or on the internet, is to “just ignore them and they’ll go away”. Online, this is usually phrased as, “Don’t feed the trolls”. THIS IS AMONG THE WORST ADVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED by the metric of “what actually makes the situation, for me and my friends who are getting bullied, any better”. What this advice does in real life, is allow the bully to realize they have found the thing that every bully is always looking for: an easy target. When you “ignore” bullies in the hopes that they get bored and go away, all you are doing long-term is teaching the bully that there are no consequences for their actions. I didn’t listen to this advice in the first fucking grade; I didn’t listen to it when people told me that’s how I should deal with Solo and their fanclub harassing, threatening, blackmailing, cyberstalking and ultimately doxing me “because I annoyed them”; and I am not going to listen to it now, because that advice does not work and is not meant to help me not get bullied; it is meant to help the authority figure in charge of the situation not have to deal with it personally because, in the words of a serial rapist who was believed over all of his victims for years because he was just such a Nice Guy who everyone loved so fuckin’ much they refused to believe he was capable of rape: “The parent doesn’t want justice, the parent wants quiet.” The reasons and the opinions of the people who give me the advice I know is bad and doesn’t work are irrelevant to me, because at the end of the day,if no one else is willing to, i have to defend myself and my community from the people who would tear us apart in the name of having their right to be racist pricks “respected”.
So, no, I will not be silently accepting whatever abuse you choose to pour into the kemetic tag or into my inbox in the name of “being the bigger person”. I also will not be going and finding any of the people choosing to send me this abuse, and let them set the terms of engagement and tone of the conversation, and take them seriously as they tell me all of this fucking racist nonsense that they delusionally believe is a bunch of Rational Fair Good Points About Politics and Kemeticism. And, once again to make sure it sinks in, I tell all of you, sincerely: I do not and will not EVER give enough of a fuck about “respecting” your whiny anonymous opinions, to stop saying what I’m saying. I respect you enough not to attempt to proselytize or “sell you” on my religious beliefs, but I do not “respect” you enough (or rather, in the way that you wish I “respected” you) to keep my story, as I have experienced it, a secret to protect your feelings and egos.
If I blocked you, you’re staying blocked. If you’re anonymous, your opinion doesn’t matter because you will not stand by it. Put up or shut up.
