🪞 Fallen angel... who do you see staring back from the Mirror? 🪞

(ID: Kirby series fanart of Galacta Knight and my personal interpretation of his Mirror World counterpart. GK hovers above facing slightly to our left, his feathery wings spread wide, shaded in lilac and tipped with gilded wing talons, a swallow-like tail visible. He holds his shield forward in his left hand (our right) and his lance to the side in his right (our left), a single magenta eye leering at the viewer through the visor of his mask. A halo of heart spears floats and shines angelically behind his horns. Below him, M!GK hovers in the same pose but flipped horizontally and without the halo. Visually, M!GK has mostly the same features as GK, with his color palette being darker and less saturated (dusty purple body, dark gray armor, gray mask, maroon lance, rose-gold horns and weapons accents). His eyes are not visible in the shadow of his mask, but there are signs of erosion running down the metal surface in rusty orange lines, almost like tear tracks. Instead of feathery wings, M!GK has wings composed of jagged shards of pink crystal, glittering and lit from within by a luminous glow. Hey, so... what if... I went a little insane for a minute? What if I just... concepted a character... for the sequel... to an AU... I've told no one about... and haven't even finished writing yet? I live in an apartment building and it is Fourth of July. Some very very large family gathering is happening in the parking lot behind the building, but as the rain becomes more likely, the children are making their way inside with hoots and hollers and the raucous joy of not yet understanding how fucked America is and just having fun screaming with cousins under the threat of politically-thematically appropriate rain. I do not mind that they are jump in on the ceiling above me or cheering in the hallways outside my front door as they play tag inside at 10:30pm, I am honored to be part of the community. Usually my door is locked (the realtors in my area seem to be part of some kind of exploitation racket, and I don’t want them stealing my cookies again), but I must have forgor when I came home from using my friends washing machine because my front door just. Opens.

And through it, for a moment, I see a little boy, maybe three or four, who apparently does not yet understand how apartments work and thought my front door might get him into some part of his house, and he looks at me like “oh shit who is that and where am I” and I give him a little smile and wave in my “big dick energy” t shirt (which he thankfully, probably can’t read yet), and he nods seriously and shuts the door with the air of a horror movie protagonist who is not yet ready to start the plot thank you very much.

While I love children and would not necessarily mind allowing him access to my living room, to discover how apartments work if nothing else (and maybe pinch his adorable cheeks because I have baby fever like no other atm, and my lesbian ass ain’t having kids yet), I have two flight risk black cats in here, so I lock the door behind him.

It is now 11:00pm and everyone has come inside from the rain and quieted down but, lagging behind, I hear little three-year-old hands jiggle that locked door handle on their way to chase mom’s skirts upstairs to his apartment, and I hope he and his mother and everyone else had a fun night.

Clara has never felt like a kid. Even when she first woke up, she didn’t quite fit in at the parks and schoolyards she visited. It’s been her job to take care of the city since she was eight years old, and she often prides herself on that fact. In moments like this, though, the surety wavers.

It’s only because she’s so lost that she lets herself nod back at Hobie. In her injured state, her connection to Gotham is flickering, leaving her feeling even more untethered than before. Even as she lets him approach, her brows are furrowed in confusion, unsure what she should be doing. Her hands are occupied— holding her side— but surely if Hobie has to bear this mess, the least Clara can do is ease it along. Surely there’s something that she should be doing.

“I d— I don’t. I don’t know how to fix it?” It comes out as a question, her voice all high and unsure. “I don’t know how to help.”

did you know Guzma's a overconfident scrappy team leader, but incredibly caring about his loved ones, and probably has a bad rap on mewtube somewhere. He will send his grunts to beat you up and they will fail pathetically for example.
