as for other blogs, no, i don't have any recommendations. this is an outlet for interests in art/history stuff i have on my own.

#i don't blame you for complimenting me just on the jewish stuff though #info in english on non-ashkenazi or western european (dutch english spanish portugese) sephardic jewish groups is slim to none #because those are most of the jews who came to the isles and us #not that i think of my blog as a definitive objective source of info or anything #this has nothing to do w/ ''ashkenormativity'' btw. ''ashkenormativity'' outside of the israeli context was an accident #also it's not the case with other places/languages #for example in france there was a small ashkenazi population but they eventually got a few sephardim #from spain and portugal coming in. and later on because france did an oopsie in the maghreb they got a bunch of maghrebi jews. and now #that's the majority of french jews. therefore you can find a good deal of info on maghrebi jews in french #if you're from south of the us ''jewish'' can mean literally anything they have a much wider variety bc those countries had far less strict #immigration laws than the us & canada meaning more immigrants from everywhere in general #not to mention descendants of sephardic colonists who came during conquistador times #at some point my family had family friends who were ashkenazi from brazil #america wasn’t ready for seinfeld with a mizrahi mom like jerry had irl
