Key Notes: Sean is charming. Very charming. It is definitely an attribute that ties in closely with his power over the emotions. He is capable of being very empathetic, and is very perceptive in almost any situation. His biggest downfall is that even though he is easy to get he is very, very hard to keep. If your muse isn't looking for anything serious, Sean is ideal once an emotional attachment is made but if your muse is looking to have him for the long haul, expect the Hare to be taking off unprovoked without reason - he will return, of course, eventually.

Key Notes: Alexander is one of the most loyal and noble men your muse will ever meet. He is the kind of guy that still believes in holding a door open for others, showing genuine compassion for others, and in giving second chances. In that, however, Alexander is noble and good to a fault as it opens him up for being back-stabbed or quite literally, falling prey to future consequences at his own expense. If your muse is looking for someone who is the noble Knight-In-Shining-Armor kind of guy, Alexander is that man.

Romance Probability: High, with a caveat (no matter who he does end up with, he is metaphorically a "slave" to the King/Queen he serves.)
Key Notes: Five is an adventurous, outgoing guy. When he is off duty he is the club hopper, the drug taker, the 'will go anywhere and do pretty much anything' guy. He is more likely to lean on the side of good intentions, he is kind and thoughtful. However, his greatest downfall is of course, his sense of duty to the crown which will always hold a risk of interfering with any relationships he may have. If your muse has a soft spot for the red heads (lol) and thnks he is worth the risk, Five is always open for potential relationships.

Setting loose the bunnies.
My at times overactive mind and crazy muse love to let plot bunnies loose in my brain (often at the most inconvenient times). Many times it's just a single image, an idea or a scene and admittedly, I love it. It gives me the opportunity to play with plot ideas, twists and little stories, occupying my brain with something positive. But I also get frustrated because so many of them never become anything more than that, plot bunnies that I collect but rarely share because I'm possessive about them, even though I know full well that I will most likely never write them. Any way, a dear friend (looking at you @barmadumet) suggested I ‘let them loose’ and see if they can find life on their own, that maybe there were others who could be inspired by them, which I admittedly would love. Developing and playing with plots is truly one of my greatest joys and I wish I could find more people willing to play this game with me. So I'm going to do just that, share some of my plot bunnies by writing a short outline and then setting them loose in the hope that they might run wild and free, and if I'm really lucky inspire others. I would of course love to help develop, or just plot play, and if anyone would like to take up an idea then please let me know so I can cheer you on. Below is a list of some very short plot ideas, and if anyone is interested in knowing more about what they might entail, or just want to tell me about what ideas they give you, if any, drop me a message.
Other more detailed plot bunnies will get their own post, so keep an eye out for #setting loose the bunnies. Have fun, plot freely, wildly and without inhibition.
* To have one last day with you. This one is a bit sad, as it is Obi-Wan dreaming about what he would do if he had just one last day with Anakin. It is inspired by Nik & Jay - En Dag Tilbage * Ghost Ship. In a big galaxy, there must be some abandoned ships, space stations and other deserted places floating around. This one is definitely Halloween themed, and I have both the movie Ghost Ship and the first Alien movie in my mind when I think of this bunny. * Padawan mayham. Time travel is always fun to play with, and there's a particular joy in sending our boys back and forth in time in an attempt to fix something, but this craziness takes it even further. So now imagine that shortly after Obi-Wan takes Anakin as his Padawan, a thirteen year old version of himself shows up but he's not alone, a lanky young version of Qui-Gon is with him, followed by a scowling young Jedi who has an uncanny resemblance to Count Dooku, but most mysterious is the young man who has no idea where he is and looks startlingly similar to Anakin. * Impossible love. AUs are entertaining and fun to play with, but this one is just a tiny idea, partly inspired by LOTR. Elf prince Obi-Wan falls for human warrior Anakin, knowing that their love is impossible. * The boy and the ghosts. This is a sad story with the potential to become a deep, long and convoluted story, but it could possibly also taken another, more humorous direction. Anyway, both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan die on Naboo, and little Ani disappears, taken by Maul and Sidious. However, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's tries to look after him as Force ghosts. * Seeking comfort. My muse came up with this idea of the disaster lineage having a tradition of seeking comfort in each other's beds. They are all part of an unusual lineage and loved each other even after they fall apart, there IS a special bond. It began with Dooku and Qui-Gon (not sure how) and ends (maybe) with Anakin and Ahsoka seeking comfort during the war before everything goes to hell. This one I think has the potential to be sweet fluff, or hot shameless smut possibly heartbreaking hurt/comfort, so take your pick. * The Pact. There's this ancient pact between the Sith and Jedi that dictates that in every generation, or for every hundred years, a couple from each order will be selected and united to keep the peace, working together to maintain the balance. * R2D2 knows all the secrets. This is canon in my opinion, R2 really knows ALL the secrets. This little droid has been there all along so it makes sense. But get this, what if Luke, after inheriting it, discovers that in its memory there are recordings of intimate moments between Anakin, Padmé and Obi-Wan? My naughty muse imagined him getting inspired and sharing some steamy moments himself with a certain princess (unaware that she's his sister) a snarky good-hearted scoundrel. * First kiss. Soul mats are a wonderfully cheesy theme, and can be so sugar sweet, devastating or deliciously complicated. So what if it's not until the first kiss that a soul mate is revealed. Then imagine that a master and padawan only realize they are soul mates the moment the master is mortally wounded... But then it is later revealed that the young boy with incredible potential they found on a desert planet is their third soul mate (because I make the rules and of course you can have more than one soul mate)

Its always been curious to me how little opinion I have on ships, when I invest so heavily in like, every other aspect of a character and I'm like, no, I Have OPINIONS on what is right and what is not right about this character! But then it comes to ships and its like, I LIKE ships, I have preferences for ships, but I've never really like.....reached that point where I'll fight about a ship? And this is not meant as a "Oh ho, I am so much better than people who fight about ships, I am An Intellectual" like no, not the mood here at all, this is coming from a place of "I will fight someone in a back alley for saying Dick Grayson only eats cereal, I am not better than anyone here."
Its literally just me musing on if there's anything in particular that makes that a character axis or angle that I'm generally just like 'eh, as long as its not squicking me, its not a dealbreaker even if I prefer other ships than this one,' but have an Incorrect Headcanon about a character's basic routines, behaviorisms or mindsets and I'm like loooool here's fifty ways in which you're just fucking wrong and should feel bad about it, there WILL be a quiz at the end.
Just funny, is all. I wonder how much it has to do with the angle from which I'm introduced to a character? Like I know a lot of people get introduced to various media via hearing about certain canon or fanon ships that catch their interest, so it makes sense that even after getting to know each character and having an interest in both, or more of an interest in one than the other, they'd still have a heavier investment in those characters as part of that ship rather than outside of that ship, because like, that's what drew them to it in the first place, its what engaged their initial interest and emotional investment?
Whereas I've never really been drawn to particular ships, even if I do end up enjoying them, but its like....you need to hook me on a specific character and engage my interest and emotional investment in them singularly and then from THERE I look at potential ship partners or canon ship partners, and like, I tend to like exploring options just in general so it makes sense that I'd be predisposed to multi-shipping, given that angle of approach?
Idk, idk, just musing, as I said. Anyone else have thoughts? Does this reflect your patterns at all, or do you have a mish-mash of some faves that you got invested in as a singular character versus some you initially invested in as part of a particular ship, and if so, have you ever noticed any difference in whether you're more likely to multi-ship with a character that falls under the former heading while being more of a stickler about not really shipping characters under the second heading with anyone other than each other?
Just curious, wanna see if this train of thought is going anywhere, or if there's anywhere TO go with it, even.

Hiiii!! 21+ literate roleplayer looking for others who’re 21+ ONLY to roleplay some DC/Batman threads on discord, and potentially even make a small group server! I’m specifically looking to have fun with some interactions amongst the Rogues.
I have the most muse and experience with Joker, but I’m also more than open to writing Riddler, Penguin, and/or Scarecrow—with the potential of trying to figure out others like Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Mad Hatter, or Mr. Freeze.
Either way, I’m just itching to write out interactions/plots amongst Batman��s Rogues (canonical characters only). Although, I’m also open to interacting with any Batman writers with any of my Rogue muses too!
I’m fine if anyone prefers to write out specific ships amongst these characters—I’m open to both ship and non-ship based rps, though depending on character combos, certain ships I might not proceed with—but don’t be afraid to ask regardless!! I’m also okay with NSFW, but it’s not what I’m particularly hankering for here, but again, don’t be afraid to ask if you’d like it included! Either way, I’m primarily invested in just exploring dynamics amongst these little freaks, whether that be utterly antagonistic or altruistic/fun.
I enjoy both para/multi-para+ thread rps as well as text/groupchat-based rp (especially with characters being soooo so annoying<3), and also love to become friends with my rp partners and ramble off about our fucked up blorbs, play games, exchange art/memes, etc.
I’m not a hardass on set-canon specific takes, and absolutely adore personal individualistic hcs/interpretations/divergencies on characters because it’s very very epic and fun I think. ++ I’m an artist who’s motivation comes primarily from rp stuff and I very much enjoy doodling out scenes and our muses, and would love to include whatever particular design a partner might have for their muse (there are sooo many cool and fun Rogue designs, I love them all).

Can you list the romantic and/or sexual relationships with other muses and tell us something about about why are you shipping with them and how does this relationship look like? :)
Well in no particular order we have:
@niragixpsych who is the first Niragi I ever interacted with. Their relationship gives off a sort of enemies to lovers type of vibe. Lately they’ve began to develop feelings for each other outside of the bedroom and now they’re struggling to keep it a secret around the Beach.
@triggerhappymilitant Him and Chishiya fuck around a lot and are unsure of their feelings towards each other which makes things really interesting. They basically use each other for sex but at the same time.. is there something more there? Stay tuned to find out (;
@risa-of-spades Her and Chishiya became roommates after an unfortunate leak in her room. Nothing much has happened between them yet, but there’s potential for friends with benefits or even enemies to lovers since at first Risa couldn’t stand Chishiya
@your-sweet-cookie This one is a little bit of a crack ship but it’s so funny. At first the two couldn’t stand each other, but as times goes on they’re slowly getting closer and in a way, they’re kind of falling for each other. Or at least, Chishiya is falling for her baking. We’ll have to see.
@twentyfourhourtitts Ah, my dear Narumi. Her and Chishiya basically are all over each other. Chishiya is always helping her with her shenanigans and she’s always keeping him company and feeding him valuable information when he needs it. The two are a mess basically.
@daikichixkarube Nothing much has happened between them yet, but we have been talking about a possible romance between Chishiya and Karube. All of the things we’ve talked about so far are adorable, and there’s definitely potential for romance

These are not in any particular order but, it's basically a list of all your One Piece muses that you have muse for:
OC
Ahmya -- Might get along with Marie, since they both control blood. For Marie, it is via devil fruit. I think they can learn from one another, and Marie is a doctor so she carries around extra pints of blood with her just in case anyone needs a transfusion. Marie might learn to not rely so heavily on her devil fruit. I'll have to know more about her, but I also think she might get to interact with Miyuki (another swordswoman) and Nerissa (a fishwoman).
Canons
Zoro -- I can see him getting along with Miyuki because both are swordsmen. He might find her a little annoying at first, I'm not sure, but he probably appreciates her knowing her way around being her crew's navigator. Robin, she might mess with him by taking the wrong path on purpose. I find my Robin to be a bit chaotic... (She would definitely give Chopper espresso...)
Usopp -- Might get along with Ana considering both are responsible for making their crew's weapons and being snipers. He might also understand Shakti's struggles with getting used to pirate life and its dangers considering he was a bit of a coward. I think she would also recognize the impact shell he used, being a sky islander. Robin is game for scaring him with her morbid jokes.
Nami -- I'd probably throw Miyuki and Feiyu at her since they both help with navigating their crew's ship. However, I think Miyuki would find Nami's knowledge in haggling to be absolutely imperative. I think Nerissa would remind her of Robin, since she's calm, but also of Bellemere in a way... strangely? Of course, my Robin is game to go on shopping sprees, and I'm sitting on Vivi taking care of Nami while she's sick.
Luffy -- needs to get to know Mira and Mira needs to get to know him. She's seen the newspaper reports on him, and she's not impressed. She's a hard customer to please. For me, Mira has a tendency for impulsiveness, so I think she would put in the plans early on "Luffy will do his own thing and figure out from there..." Robin in the meanwhile is just, "That's my son..."
Vivi -- Vivi and Robin need to have a discussion about forgiveness so they can move on as fellow Straw Hats. We both roleplay as these two, so it's kind of an either-or situation.
Hiyori -- I haven't gotten far in Wano, but I believe Robin would be up for interacting with her. I'm up to the assassination/execution of that one guy and everyone's on Smile.
Law -- I'm game for Robin interacting with Law. I think Mira might be able to be friends with him, but I am not sure. They're both hard customers.

BASIC ETIQUETTE .
DON’T BE A DICK! Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Sexism, Xenophobia; discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. Don’t come at me, or any of my followers/friends with that hot garbage.
SELECTIVITY .
I will only interact with mutual followers. This mostly goes for IC memes unless tagged otherwise. I do not follow for a follow. It’s nothing personal and intended for my own comfort, to keep me from feeling overwhelmed or if I can’t really see how our muses would interact in the long term. Other reasons deal with not having a tagging system, no rules or muse info present, formatting style or lack thereof; i.e. not cutting posts or more OOC than IC. While I am open to plotting and talking to non-mutual followers in order to start something new, please do not consistently come at me if I'm not interested.
In regards to unfollowing/soft blocking people, I usually filter through blogs that have been inactive for at least 5-6 months unless I personally know them and the general nostalgia factor has a vice like grip on me x3 and I'll try to keep to a 7 day grace period to following anyone back... but don't hold me to that cause I am forgetful AF.
Also, I am variant friendly and freaking adore the idea of twin/alt verses, or just gushing over this ray of sunshine in general, PLS!
GENERAL DYNAMICS .
I can be an impulsive & adaptive kind of writer at times. If nothing is plotted beforehand I'm prone to just wing it and see how it plays out. I’m also keen to follow my partner’s writing length and /or format should the desire arise for thread aesthetic goodness.
I like plotting pre-established relationships/connections. I find it to be a pretty nice immersion factor to basic intro threads/meme interactions.
I will not play favorites with any particular character(s). I may have main baes I feel more at ease freely interacting with and replying to. My character exclusivity is only placed upon romantic ships when it is asked of me.
SHIPPING .
This is a multi-ship blog. Every relationship takes place inside its own verse unless plotted otherwise, i.e; poly-ships. I love shipping! I love talking about possible ships. I love the planning and meme slinging. As much as I enjoy it, that is NOT an ultimate goal with my muse. I also like to get to know my potential ship partner as well beforehand.
Do NOT follow/interact with me if you’re just trying to ship with my muse!
Shipping requires chemistry. I know Cindy is a super cute, bubbly sunshine gal who everyone wants to smooch (okokok maybe not everyone). But if it’s not there, it’s not there. Please do not force anything on me or my muse.

Ship Bias (Go wild, for anyone)
3 Shipping Biases for a Muse Prompts; for @viisiond, unspecified.
Mun's Choice: Jean Gunnhildr
Lisa- This is definitely my favorite ship for Jean by far. They caught me early on, aesthetically, but through the story and the more I learn about each of their characters, and the more I see them interact, I really have just fallen in love with their dynamic. I love how Jean feels able to rest and relax more just from Lisa's presence. She's the hypervigilant workaholic nightmare incarnate so I find her relaxed interactions with Lisa very significant, and in a way also very emotionally intimate. Some of her formality drops away with Lisa, and she feels a little less like Acting Grandmaster or Dandelion Knight and a little more like just plain old Jean, which I think she has far too little opportunity to be. Anyway I'll stop before we have a novel on our hands.
Diluc- They have a lot of trope/cliche qualities that I tend to find really appealing tbh. Childhood friends, for instance. I love that they both had pet tortoises as kids, and the way they're both so stiff and formal in the way they interact with people but, on a general level, care deeply about the well being of others. They're definitely one of those ships where they take rotten care of themselves but great care of each other, and thus- in a way- help to compensate for that particular shortcoming.
Rosaria- Jean and Rosaria actually have a lot of similarities internally, but the way those traits display in their outward personalities is very different and I think it's a really interesting contrast. Rosaria is very cool and blunt in the way she keeps people at a distance; Jean holds others at arms' length through polite formality and unwavering professionalism. And they respect and hold each other in good regard. I like that Jean so easily looks past Rosaria's often prickly disposition to see that she's very competent and capable and actually takes her work very seriously. I think they both see and understand each other from a perspective that most others who see them don't think to take, and that gives them a lot of potential.

Ted Lasso 2x8 thoughts
I am so lucky that the creators of Ted Lasso decided to make this entire show specifically for me. #blessed
If last week felt like a bit of breathing room (albeit tense, poignant, character-progressing breathing room) with distinct narrative lines, this week’s episode was a chaotic yet tightly-written swirl of pain and hope and sadness! No neat subject headers for this one, y’all. Just my brain and heart in the inadequate form of a bulleted list. It is the medium available to me at this time.
I am going to remember the moment when Ted calls Sharon and tells her his father killed himself for the rest of my life.
(I could say a bunch of stuff about his face and what he says and how he tries to hide his tears from Beard right after and how insanely much I adore this character and ahhhhhhhh but I’m just going to leave that scene there in our collective memories.)
Jamie. JAMIE. Higgins has given some great advice about love on this show, but his musings about his up-and-down relationship with his own father were not helpful in the context of Jamie’s dad, who is an abusive piece of shit. I really adore that all of the main AFC Richmond staff members are realistically a bit hit-or-miss with their advice and life philosophies (some are mostly miss this season, of course).
And I am completely in awe of the moment when Jamie punches his father. The way he just stands there after Beard kicks his dad out of the locker room. The way you can hear a pin drop. And Roy—Roy who is learning in so many areas of his life about his influence on people, learning that the things he needs aren’t necessarily the same as the things other people need—is the one to cross the room and hug him. Hold him, really, with the tenderness Ted used when he hugged Rebecca outside the gala in 1x4. God.
I’ve thought a lot about how s1 was about giving people a soft place to land. There’s always an angel there when you need one. There’s always an opportunity to be kind. If you look for someone, you find them. If you look for the good in someone, you find the good. And as everyone works through their individual journeys in s2, that can’t always be the case anymore. But there are still so many moments of angels on this show, and it’s not about chance and serendipity and fate [not that it was about that in s1] but about the effort it takes to become someone who can be there for someone else. Or who can be there for yourself. I’m so proud of Jamie for physically fighting back against his father. I’m so proud of Roy for being the one who recognized what Jamie needed.
I have every feeling in the world about how Ted is almost totally frozen both times (s1 and s2) he witnesses Jamie’s father abusing him. In s1, he was still there for Jamie after, and I have every reason to believe he’ll be there for Jamie after this incident as well, but that frozen stance HURTS. He’s in so deep with his pain about his own father that it’s like he physically cannot snap out of it to act in the moment. It seems entirely outside of his control, and it breaks my heart, because Ted wants so badly to be a good father, a good coach, a good friend, a good partner, a good patient. He’s there for people in all kinds of ways, even in his current less-than-capable state. He takes care of Sharon post-concussion and even gets her a new bike! During the disastrous match at Wembley his coaching is ineffectual and everything is chaos but he’s the last one standing on the pitch! But this really awful thing keeps happening to Jamie and Ted is just…frozen in the face of it. Like one of those nightmares where you’re running in place.
The frozen-in-place nightmare also kind of applies to the way the total separation between Ted and Rebecca feels, too. I have never for a moment doubted the writers’ intentions in setting these characters up as soulmates on parallel journeys, and I’m actually really digging (on a story level) how disconnected they are right now. It is IMPRESSIVE that their absence in each other’s lives feels like such a glaring loss, one we cannot forget even as there are so many other things happening onscreen. It is 100% not just shipper goggles making me process information about Ted while thinking about Rebecca and information about Rebecca while thinking about Ted. I know there are a lot of really angry and frustrated people in the fandom right now (both T/R shippers and T/R antis and non-shipping fans who don’t get why s2 is different from s1) and while I understand being frustrated by choices characters make, and frustrated by the feelings the show makes us feel that we just want to feel more of or less of, I continue to agree with pretty much every narrative choice happening right now.
Agreeing with the narrative like this?! This is such a unique experience for me as a viewer—to feel like I’m on a ride that is at once absolutely wild and incredibly sensible and well-crafted, and to feel simultaneously completely invested and anticipatory and speculative but also totally willing to trust where it goes. I long for Ted and Beard to really talk. I long for Ted and Rebecca to stop missing each other. I long for Roy to have a serious conversation with Ted about what’s happening with him. I long for Keeley to find a vocation, something that drives her beyond her projects. I long for so many things! But I wouldn’t long for them if this show was less good. If the show was less good, I wouldn’t have a wish list a mile long because I wouldn’t be so attuned to the details and potential lurking in every scene. THIS IS SUCH A GOOD SHOW, I CANNOT HANDLE IT, I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
(To that end, a great deal of the Ted Lasso tag and so many Twitter reactions reactions to the show feel super stressful right now and I am kind of just trying not to look?! I love this fandom so much because of the amazing conversations that happen and because of brilliant fic and because there are some awesome people I never would have encountered were it not for this show. That little bubble is wonderful and I’d stay in this fandom no matter what in order to keep experiencing those things. But fans’ catastrophic reactions to every little thing that happens, every little choice a character makes that isn’t the “perfect” choice? The takeaway that the writers—on this show of all shows—wake up in the morning ready for another day of torturing shippers rather than another day of writing a beautiful story they genuinely want to write? I do not enjoy those parts at all. I would like to opt out of those parts. I’m having such a magical experience watching this show and talking about this show and listening about this show and writing about this show with a variety of people who feel all kinds of ways. I truly wish I could somehow transfer the energy of this experience onto all the people who are hating it right now. I don’t mind at all that people are having vastly different reactions to this show and are sharing their honest feelings, including the really angry ones (I can appreciate something and disagree with it!), and I get that sometimes the language of fannish reactions is intentionally, ironically hyperbolic. But there feels like this very serious trend of people legitimately thinking writers on this show are targeting shippers and have lost respect for their characters, and I just feel like an alien from another planet when I see that stuff. I guess I just feel like people make art because they want their art to be visible to other people and to themselves, but that doesn’t typically involve specifically catering to or torturing a subset of that audience?)
I am more fascinated by Sharon Fieldstone than ever before. I have been running through every single action with her and Ted so many times. The confirmation that she’s living in club-provided housing (that could not look more different from Ted’s club-provided flat). Ted clearly noticing the many bottles. Sharon’s face while she tries to casually recycle them. (Sharon could legitimately have a more problematic relationship with alcohol than Ted does, and I find that extremely interesting and am very curious to find out what happens there.) Sharon leaving him voice notes while she’s concussed, probably because she’d been thinking about him shortly before the accident. The way Ted calls her and does all the funny voices and it’s not frustrating like all the times he uses his silliness and allusions to deflect during their prior conversations because this time, those behaviors are just a part of him showing care for another person. The way they stretch each other, and Ted is still wrong about the things he’s been wrong about, but they both grow all the same.
While it is pretty much impossible for me to imagine that this show would include an actual romantic relationship between Ted and Sharon (it would be beyond unethical even if they could write it well, and Sharon in particular is so professional and committed to her work, and it would erase so much of the powerful message about the importance of seeking therapy from a professional who is not your friend or partner, and I would totally hate it), watching this episode was the first moment I had this queasy little feeling that it’s possible that Ted could end up developing really complicated feelings about Sharon since, at this point, he’s been honest with her about things he’s hardly spoken about before and you can really form an attachment to people you feel safe with in a new way. (I mean, I’m sure Michelle knows what happened with Ted’s father, but I’m not even certain if Beard does.) He’s so broken right now, and Sharon is such a great person and so different from anyone else in his life (even though Rebecca is also different, and Beard is also different, and Roy is also different, and so on), that I could see things getting really fuzzy for him. I continue to have faith in the way the storylines on this show are handled. I’m just. Putting this here.
(In saying that, though, I also wanna make it really clear that I don’t just automatically assume anytime a new female character is introduced that they’re going to end up becoming a romantic complication. Like, Phoebe is allowed to have a teacher who is an attractive woman and AFC Richmond is allowed to have a sports psychologist who is an attractive woman and Keeley is allowed to talk to Jamie Tartt without it threatening what she has with Roy and all these people can exist as human beings without the introduction of romantic drama.)

KEELEY AND REBECCA. Their text thread. The affirming video call right before Rebecca goes into the restaurant. The way Keeley sits all snuggled up against Rebecca in her office.
I was pretty thoroughly spoiled for the Sam and Rebecca plot through 2x8, and I was bracing for something far more problematic and tortured than what happens in this episode. The words I would use to describe their scenes: awkward, cute, cringy, and understandable. There are a million reasons why this relationship isn’t sustainable, but I felt completely understanding of both their choices here. This show has a lot of thesis statements, but I keep going back to the idea from 2x1 that there are people who enter your life to help you get to the next point, and I think it’s entirely possible that Sam and Rebecca will mutually be that for each other.
I find comparisons between Rupert and Rebecca super upsetting. There are absolutely meaningful things to say about the irony of ending up in a situation with an uncomfortable resemblance to certain taboo elements of an ex’s situation. But that ex is abusive and manipulative and cruel and Rebecca has exhibited NONE of those behaviors, and it makes me really sad to think that people feel that the writers on this show have betrayed Rebecca in giving her this storyline.
As always, I reserve the right to keep blathering about this show. I’ve had a headache for a couple of days, but my head is also so full of 2x8 thoughts that I couldn’t keep them in even if the circumstances for writing this were not ideal. I kind of hate that I’ve included frustrated fandom thoughts within the analysis of what I felt was an absolutely gorgeous, complicated, heartbreaking, near-perfect episode of television, but if ya can’t be a little dramatic on your own tumblr while you’re feeling raw and under the weather, where can ya?

definitely have a lot of influence from famous fantasy writers (t/olkien, c/s l/ewis, etc) simply bc they were such a big thing from my childhood & are big inspirations for my own writing. my friends' writing has an impact on my own too, technically - whether that's just an appreciation of a different style (which sometimes prompts me to try something different) or learning new words bc my vocabulary will never be complete & i'm all about improving myself as a writer
7. describe your favorite relationship dynamic. (can be any kind, platonic, romantic, familial, antagonistic, etc.)
i am a real sucker for found family dynamics (the a/katsuki are 100% a highly dysfunctional found family and i won't be told otherwise) & i thrive on antagonistic bonds that develop into mutual respect/friendship (& potentially romantic feelings, depending on the characters). love/hate is definitely one of my favourite ship dynamics (that's such a shock, i know). i also love a good slow-burn romance between damaged characters who have to learn to let people in again bc the potential for pain is just... *chef's kiss*
9. when you look at a new blog, what is it that makes you press the follow button? is it the muse, the aesthetics, the writing–?
definitely if it's a muse i'm interested in interacting with (or muses, for multis). if it's an oc, i like to see detailed information or some means of getting a feel for the character (bios for canon characters give extra points, particularly if there's some divergence involved). outside of the actual muse/s, the blog has to be easy to navigate & read, bc i'm not straining my eyes or searching blindly for pages. i like to have at least a basic set of rules so i can get a feel for the person behind the blog & there absolutely has to be a mun age listed somewhere. and obviously the writing is important, bc our styles have to gel together - and i have to know if the other person formats their posts to the point where it's unreadable bc... no. sorry, but no.
i am rather picky about who i follow when it comes to accessibility /shrug

k.akuzu - obviously, not dying when he did, but ideally he escapes from his imprisonment in k.onoha and just... goes back to how he lived before the a.katsuki. roaming the world as a bounty hunter, gathering money & living forever. like, he's obviously a criminal who deserves to be locked up but at the same time... i just want him to do his own thing again
k.iba - he needs to be a dad. preferably to an entire pack of feral kids (90% daughters would be first choice) who run riot around the i.nuzuka compound. i don't even care who his partner is in this scenario, just make him a dad.
y.amato - the man needs to retire to a little cabin in the woods where he can live peacefully for the first fckn time in his entire life. have beautiful gardens he grew himself & a little vegetable patch & a home full of houseplants. but... given that he absolutely wouldn't do that bc it's y.amato, give him some baby ninja to train as a teacher.

RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: I would have to say the top two would be not reading rules/abouts(they are there FOR A REASON), and just genrally bashing/harrassing someone just because their portrail/ships/verses/whatever just aren't someone else's particular cup of tea. Like the unnecessary being mean and vile just for the sake of it or to make yourself feel better, take it somewhere else. We're here to have fun.
FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: I enjoy fluff because I'm usually mean to a number of muses I play, both on and off tumblr and yes, sometimes muses being tooth rottingly sweet together, platonic or otherwise, is fantastic. Angst is actually one of my favorite "genres" and I love getting to play it, but I can't always find partners that want to do that. Part of that is I've had a lot of partners who take "angst" to just mean relationship angst/pining and that's...not what I'm looking for. Smut I'm fine with but I'm not great at, and it has to be 1) with a muse that my muse is interested in to some level and 2) a mun that I'm comfortable with as well. I've done kinky and vanilla stuff but as someone who's asexual, it's...weird, sometimes? I can do a whole thread of kink and then for the next two months want nothing to do with it while my muse is in horny jail.
PLOTS OR MEMES: I like both! Memes are great for on the fly, ice breakers, or as one of my friends likes to do sending "a challenge"(a.k.a. sending something with no warning or context and wishing the best of luck to figure out something to do with it. Lots of fun). I do also love plotting too, both in depth in one go and just figuring out some basics but then building up on it as we go.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: I don't have a preference. Both are great in their own ways, but I need at least something to work with. Two lines is not something to work with usually unless it's like....a crack thread, or similar.
BEST TIME TO WRITE: If I am awake and not busy, it's a good time to write. I'm halfway nocturnal ask anyone who's talked to me at length for a month, and most stuff I reply back to pretty quickly, 1-2 days is my average unless I really need to think out a reply so yeah...if I'm awake.

ooc;; honestly? i never give it much thought. objectively i know it's a thing some people like, some people hate, but i've not had a reason to consider it, since i really have never had a seward as a writing partner! tragic, i know. not by choice, and also not completely by absence; i know there's at least one seward among my mutuals, and we just haven't gotten something going yet.
i'm most invested in seward and renfield as foils, and their antagonizing but interested relationship is what makes them fun to me. i guess i could see the potential to make that an attraction, but i do worry a lot about their power imbalance. the name of the game with renfield ships in canon seems to always be power imbalance because renfield is so thoroughly disempowered that he's going to be on unequal footing with almost anyone. in the dracula case i guess it doesn't bother me as much because it's so fantastical and supernatural? and also a directly addressed problem that renfield fights against? with jack it does just feel like a canon ship would be giving the power imbalance and without the commentary or reversal. hmm.
i think i could only imagine being down to explore this if it were in a significantly different verse. i'm thinking like... maybe in a canon-divergent world where renfield survives and is released, joining the crew of light, and now seward has to grapple with what their new relationship is like on equal footing, maybe even teasing up some guilt he may feel about how he used to see renfield or write him off. or maybe renfield becoming a vampire and being freed that way, and the bizarre dynamic they might have when renfield is finally pro-humanity and redeemed but also finally undead, irony of ironies. clearly from these two examples, a prerequisite for me would need to be renfield getting out of the asylum.
idk, not totally closed off to the possibility, but i think it would depend a lot on the seward i write with and what their interpretation/characterization is. we'd have to think it through and be really mindful of the canon past they share. it's not something i ship on my own, or in concept, if that makes sense? would need to be a special rapport between the mun and i and between our particular versions of these characters in some kind of au.

Five Tom Riddle Crossover Fics to Read
Tom Riddle is a difficult character to ship. For those of us who want to see pairings beyond the Big Two (Tomarry and Tomione), canonical options peter out relatively quickly. Sure, we can invent our own pairings by fleshing out side characters, but sometimes, the itch is best scratched by borrowing from another canon.
And it makes sense for Tom more than nearly anyone else in HP. Tom was born into an era that is the subject of so much literature, so it’s easy to find another person kicking around postwar Europe if that’s your goal. He’s an archetypal character, the villain seeking immortality, and can be matched against other villains with the same aims. Hell, even his quest to recover lost artifacts turns into the basis for two of these works—Tom Riddle has the perfect combination of a recognizable context and character model, plus the ambiguity of his canon timeline, to slot him alongside so many other fictional figures.
I want to pause on some of these themes for a second. Immortality or relationship to age, for one, is something that comes up in three of these pairings: the Darkling and Koschei the Deathless are both immortal characters in their own canons, and Edmund Pevensie is not immortal but has aged and de-aged repeatedly in his travels to and from Narnia. The HP series doesn’t give us nearly this wealth of different perspectives on age and immortality, which is fair—HP makes it clear that immortality is unnatural and undesirable, and Flamel is notably a ‘good person’ because of his willingness to accept his own death—but for a character as obsessed with the idea as Tom, some emotions can only be explored when you match him with another character who has a complicated relationship to aging. Even someone like Indiana Jones, not immortal and not trying to be, has an interesting perspective to bring to a story because he has seen so many other quests for power gone terribly awry.
Of course, the other thing we get from crossover pairings is the ability to match Tom with a villainous character. And whether you’re a fan of conflict at the start of a relationship or not, I think there’s something to be found in putting two villains together: moral arguments, when they exist, are rarely about whether death is necessary but about what kinds of death are best used when; the entire concept of either a redemption arc or a breaking bad arc can be thrown out a window. It’s a space wherein our two villains are allowed to be themselves, and the reveal of the extent of each character’s villainy becomes a strange form of celebration. This is challenging to achieve if one sticks to HP canon alone, whereas crossovers are a fruitful space.
My selection methodology was to read every crossover fic with a clear focus on Tom Riddle or Voldemort on AO3. I found crossover pairings by visiting the meta pages for the Tom Riddle, Voldemort, and Tom Riddle | Voldemort tags—I may have missed some pairings for Tom Riddle, as the character has over 300 child relationship tags and AO3 cuts off at 300 displayed. If you know of any ships I missed and should check out, do tell! I’ll also make a note here that one of these fics is my own—if self-recs bother you, skip Bluebird.
The following five fics are ordered by wordcount. Let me know what you think!
Neurotic Virtuosi, by skazka
Crossover: Hannibal Rising (movie version). The wizarding world exists, and Tom and Hannibal encounter each other in non-magical Eastern Europe.
Summary: Tom and Hannibal ride the same train when Tom is hunting down the diadem. Tom shares an apple and thinks about keeping Hannibal.
Mature, <1k, Graphic Torture Fantasies
Why?: This is one of those pairings that I wouldn’t have thought to do when the characters were both young, but it’s so much better for that choice! The length of this fic means we only get a taste of their interactions, but what a taste it is. Tom’s internal fantasies are horrifying and described in a very erotic way, which fits both characters.
This also serves as an interesting vision of what Tom might have experienced during his world tour to find the diadem, a period we rarely get to see. I particularly like that the author chose to write it as frustrating and mostly fruitless; a Tom who is stymied and unsuccessful is a particular weakness of mine.
Two Sides of the Same Coin, by Anonymous
Crossover: Chronicles of Narnia. Both Hogwarts and Narnia are real, and the characters meet in Britain. The magic isn’t the same, but there’s mutual recognition.
Summary: Tom tries to use sex to seduce secrets out of Edmund. Edmund sees something reminiscent of his younger self, the version of him who could join the White Witch, in Tom Riddle.
Explicit, 2k
Why?: Edmund and Tom are a pairing made in crossover heaven, both boys of a similar age born into war in the same country and whose discoveries of magical worlds help them escape it. Both lust for power and make poor choices; Edmund canonically recovers and finds redemption from his actions, and Tom does not.
This fic wears the hat of something pure smut, starting in the middle of a sex scene and tagged with top/bottom roles, etc., and it is that and does that well. But give it a shot for Edmund’s reflection at the end, his hopeful musings that he can apply the lessons learned from Aslan to help Tom before Tom’s utterly lost. It’s a crossover ship with unbelievable potential for both characters, and this fic makes me want so much more.
Shedding Skin, by electric_typewriter
Crossover: Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente. Both the wizarding world and the magic of Deathless exist.
Summary: Tom meets Koschei before splitting his soul. They keep meeting, and Tom keeps attempting to match Koschei’s immortality.
Not Rated, 2k
Why?: Immortality via relocation or storage of souls is an idea that easily predates Harry Potter as a series, and seeing two different versions of the some core idea interacting with one another is precisely what crossovers exist to enable. Koschei as an immortal being that found his immortality in a way he considers superior is a fascinating concept, because it creates a power imbalance between them that leaves Tom always running to catch up. And Tom, poor Tom, feels like a desperate man, finding sensation only when he’s around Koschei and feeling nothing at any other time.
This reads a bit like you’re dissociating. The author uses descriptive language to keep the reader a little distant from the grounded reality of the events happening, which has the effect of keeping you focused on the metaphysical question of what it means to have part of a soul.
Bluebird, by Phantomato
Crossover: Shadow and Bone. S&B summoning powers instead of HP magic, set in the real world, with characters’ histories preserved.
Summary: Tom is the second sun summoner to exist, born long after the first gave up her powers and lived out her natural life. He tracks down the Darkling, the shadow summoner who never really died.
Explicit, 17k
Why?: Tom is an immortal being for at least part of his life, and his character arc is about pursuit of immortality, but he is fundamentally a young immortal, and is killed before he can graduate to old immortality. Aleksander, the Darkling, is canonically an old immortal, and his character arc is about the burden of living with the knowledge that you will likely always be alone. That loneliness sets the scene for the relationship between Tom and Aleksander, driving Aleksander’s behavior—he fundamentally believes he will always be alone, even an immortal like Tom passes through his life.
There is a high proportion of smut in this, serving in place of the emotional honesty that neither character can muster, and I recommend it for that. But the story also relies on investment in quiet everyday moments shared between the characters. It’s a fic told through behavior because both men are so cautious around one another, where they nevertheless manage to find sympathy for the other.
Riddles of the Dead, by Maeglin_Yedi
Crossover: Indiana Jones. Blends together the wizarding world and the mysticism present in Indiana Jones films.
Summary: Tom Riddle hires an expert archaeologist and gentleman adventurer, Dr. Indiana Jones, to help him pursue an artifact that might grant him immortality. There’s fucking, fighting, magic, snakes, and some difficult choices in store for our leading men.
Explicit, 18k, Angst
Why?: Maeglin Yedi has been a mainstay of the Tom Riddle/Lord Voldemort ficspace for nearly two decades, but an old crossover like this can unfortunately slip through the cracks. It shouldn’t! With an original publishing date in early 2005, this predates the concept of horcruxes, the knowledge of Tom’s early years at Wool’s orphanage, and, well, so much of what we would eventually learn about Tom Riddle as a person. It’s a testament to the author that the story manages to capture Tom’s character in such a way that he’s still fully recognizable to a current-day reader, despite working with so much less canon.
This fic is fun. It’s an adventure, featuring hazards and traps and assassination attempts that you would expect from an Indiana Jones film, but the magic and mystery never overwhelms the relationship at the core of this story. It’s set up beautifully, with a mirrored structure between the front and back halves of the fic that foreshadows the inevitable end of the story. Watching older, confident Indy seduce young, hungry Tom is a delight. One (possible) mark of a great Tom-centric fic, imo, is to be able to portray Tom enjoying the exchange of power, giving it to someone as well as taking it from them, and this Tom is able to revel in giving up some perceived power as he practices being vulnerable with Indy. The romance is quite sweet, especially considering that ‘angst’ tag at the top of the fic!
