palestinian islamic jihad's spokesman says they are willing to release two israeli hostages (a woman and a boy) on humanitarian grounds. he suggested that the woman needs medical help that cannot be currently provided in Gaza and the boy will be released on account of his young age - despite the fact that hundreds of Palestinian women and children are not only held hostage, but tortured and denied basic human rights (lack medical help, denied access to lawyers/family members, held without charge, tried in military courts) in israeli occupation prisons.

reminder that resistance factions have previously released 4 israeli/foreign hostages on purely humanitarian grounds, despite israel's continuous bombing of Gaza. simultaneously, israeli bombing has killed several israeli hostages in Gaza. israel refused to accept the freed hostages and when one of them gave a statement that seemed to contain a few words of appreciation for the resistance, the israelis also tried intimidating the hospital that the freed hostage was treated at for allowing her to hold a press conference without being briefed by israeli govt first

before anyone says some idiotic bs like 'all hostages should be released': afaik, only civilian hostages will be released on humanitarian grounds. hostages who are iof pigs will only be released through a prisoner exchange that frees Palestinian hostages in israel. remember that israel once released 1000+ Palestinian hostages in return for 1 iof pig (look up gilad shalit). the best course of action to free israeli hostages is an ALL FOR ALL prisoner exchange - which has been suggested by palestinian resistance as well as protested for by families of israeli hostages. netanyahu rejected this proposal.
