Varese: Al Festival Storie di cortile suona Scarlett Rivera, violinista di Bob Dylan. Il Festival Storie di cortile fa per la prima volta tappa a Varese: sarà la leggendaria violinista di Bob Dylan, Scarlet Rivera, a inaugurare l'edizione varesina del festival itinerante che da sette anni valorizza e promuove, attraverso la musica, corti, cortili, cascine, case di ringhiera. Giovedì 22 giugno alle 21 appuntamento dunque in piazza della Canonica: l'ingresso è libero e costituisce un'occasione unica per ascoltare la performance con cui l'artista rende omaggio a Bob Dylan. Scarlet canterà dal vivo diverse canzoni di Dylan tra cui Senor e Blowin in the Wind, accompagnata dai Borderlobo, la band tex mex di Alex Kid Gariazzo (cantante e chitarrista della Treves Blues Band) e del cantautore Andrea Parodi Zabala, accompagnati da Riccardo Maccabruni (pianoforte, hammond, fisarmonica e voce), Michele Guaglio (basso e footdrum), Marco Rovino (chitarre e mandolino) e dal celebre trombettista Raffaele Kohler, che durante la pandemia del 2020 ha suonato tutte le sere alle 18 dalla sua finestra a Milano. "Un vero piacere poter accogliere anche a Varese un festival che punta a promuovere il legame tra sonorità e spazi urbani, portando in città una grande artista poliedrica - spiega l'assessore alla Cultura Enzo Laforgia - facendo leva sulla forza che ha la musica di essere uno strumento in grado di valorizzare al meglio luoghi che svolgono un ruolo sociale e culturale". Scarlet Rivera e i Borderlobo accompagneranno il pubblico in un viaggio affascinante che evoca la frontiera messicana e omaggia i grandi songwriters: Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen e Fabrizio De Andrè lasciando spazio anche a brani originali in inglese e in italiano. "Quando mi sono trasferito a Figino Serenza, piccolo Comune della Brianza, sono rimasto catturato dalla dimensione del mio cortile che è ubicato nella piazza principale del paese - spiega Andrea Parodi, direttore artistico del festival - La piazza era relegata a poco più che un parcheggio mentre nel cortile la sera c’erano gli anziani che scendevano con le proprie sedie e i bambini che giocavano a pallone fino a tardi. È stata questa dimensione e il desiderio di raccontarla a ispirare la nascita di Storie di Cortile. Corti, cortili, cascine, case di ringhiera, parchi di antiche ville rappresentano un patrimonio straordinario del nostro territorio da tutelare, promuovere e valorizzare. Luoghi che hanno svolto un ruolo sociale e culturale diventando teatro naturale della tradizione orale di una volta, dai cantastorie alla gente comune che si passava le notizie, si confrontava e allestiva le commedie della vita quotidiana. In questi 7 anni abbiamo organizzato oltre 100 spettacoli, tutti a ingresso libero, di musica e storytelling con ospiti prestigiosi, italiani e internazionali". L’incontro tra Bob Dylan e Scarlet Rivera è uno dei momenti più forti e romantici della storia del rock ed è stato magistralmente raccontato nel film di Martin Scorsese sul leggendario tour della Rolling Thunder Review. Bob Dylan è stato il primo a scoprire Scarlet riconoscendo il genio e considerandola una violinista capace di suonare il volino alla stregua di una chitarrista solista. Da quel momento la sua carriera e la sua vita hanno preso una direzione inaspettata. Scarlet ha collaborato con gli artisti più influenti del nostro tempo, collezionando premi e nomination ai Grammy Awards, e aprendo un varco nel tessuto della storia del rock come pioniera del violino elettrico. Partendo da un background classico, ha evoluto il suo percorso fino ad abbracciare una gran varietà di generi di musica, dalla fusion che mescola rock e jazz, dalla musica latina a quella celtica, fino alla new age esibendosi nella Duke Ellington Orchestra e al fianco di Joni Mitchell, Indigo Girls, Tracy Chapman, Eric Andersen, Keb Mo e Peter Maffay. This is a coda idea I can up with tonight for a song by a really incredible songwriter. I was have a blast playin’ a 6/8 groove. Felt so good. I’m playing the kick on my porchboard bass and the shaker is a Roland spd one. I got a wild hair and whipped out my harmonica- which I consider my “lost instrument”. Basically I played it when I was like 16, and only whip it out now and again. I first got pulled into music when a friend loaned me his sister’s harmonica. She eventually asked for it back. I would just play along with old records and had no idea what I was doing- and on harmonica I still don’t 😂!
