Since there’s so many fundraisers that I try to reblog/share, this will be the masterlist for all of them just so ya’ll don’t have to bother going through BOTH my blogs to find them.

They’ve all been vetted either by me, Operation Olive Branch/Poppy Flower, or by others I trust.

I will declare LOW FUNDING if they are less than 1/4 through their goal

CLOSE TO COMPLETION will be to those who are 5-7k away from their goal.

HALF WAY is pretty self-explanatory, but I’ll also do it if it’s a little over half way.

Alaa (family of 5): Alaa is who messaged me on Instagram, and he is followed by those who I have already vetted, so I trust he is real. He dreamt of being a football player before the war. Currently we are at €7.205K/€22.5K LOW FUNDING

Anas (family of 10, which is him, wife, 3 children, mom, his brother and sister, SIL, and nephew): Anas took out loans in order to get his family evacuated first due to their health risks, so he is now all alone in Gaza and in desperate need to reunite with his family. We are currently at $140.716K/175.7K HALF WAY

Lina (4, baby born safely in Egypt): We just need to get Lina’s husband out since she and son were evacuated out of Gaza before baby was born. Currently at €37.952K/€47K

Ibraheem (7 people in total, which is him, parents, older brother and sister, and 2 younger sisters, one of whom is still in highschool): $97.5/$94K DONE

Ibraheem has a NEW GFM, this one is for expenses for once he and his family get to Egypt to continue their education. As of now, he is at $10.389K/$25K ALMOST HALF WAY

Madleen (4 people total, which is her, her husband, and 2 young children): As of now, they are at $55.555K/$70K HALF WAY

Deyaa and Family (him, his mother, 2 younger brothers, and sister): 15 year old Deyaa is the only member of his family who speaks English, so he is the one pleading for help evacuating his family from Gaza. On June 15th, he and his family reached their goal to evacuate and live their lives in Egypt COMPLETE

Fatma (4 people total, which is her, mom, brother and sister): we are currently at $21.517K/$40K. HALF WAY

Fadi (family of 11, which include Fadi’s 9-month old son): We are currently at $39.380K/$62.5K HALF WAY

Leen (5, which is Leen, her parents, and 2 brothers people total): the 17 year old daughter: Leen was the one who contacted me on Instagram. We are currently at $34.055K AUD/$50K AUD HALF-WAY

Lujayn (6 people total, Lyjayn, her husband, and their 4 children, one of whom needs medical care) Lujayn was the one who contacted me on Instagram, and they’re verified by Operation Olive Branch. We are currently at $97.284/$105K CLOSE TO COMPLETION

Dr. Jehad-Zedan (5 people total, which is him, wife, and 3 young daughters): They’ve been safely evacuated to Cairo now (yay!) but they still need living expense money. So we are $35.317k/$40k CLOSE TO COMPLETION

Ashraf (Him only, his wife and family is already in Egypt): He suffers injuries from an Israel attack, so he needs the funds to travel to Egypt and get medical attention in a hospital. As of now, we are at £37.388K/50K HALF WAY

Maryam (4 people total, which is her, hubby, and 2 young children): As of now, they are at €52.645K/€80K. HALF WAY

Tala: As of now, she is at €27.668K/€30K CLOSE TO COMPLETION

Islam (Family of 9) : As of now, she’s only at €54.779K/€55K CLOSE TO COMPLETION

Haya (5 people total, her, parents, and 2 siblings: Mother has Lupus/kidney failure, so medical attention is REQUIRED. $64.277K/70K CLOSE TO COMPLETION

Ethel Cain: "book, movie, all that stuff… it is my highest goal"

Ethel Cain, any updates on the Preacher's Daughter book?

ETHEL CAIN: "Writing a book takes a long time. I've got a lot of stuff I'm doing right now, but yeah, I'm just kind of… whenever things are meant to happen, they will happen. I am a very, very patient person, and I will create things as time allows and when I feel led to create those things. I don't want to put out a half-assed book. I've never written a book before, but I'm also very neurotic, and I can't have somebody else write it for me. So I've just been writing and scrapping, writing and scrapping, and reading, writing, and scrapping, just trying to own my writing style and whatnot.

I'm sure it will be a good long while before that book comes out, but you know, I like to give things plenty of room to breathe and really foster a healthy creative environment. I never want to feel like I'm creating because I have to; I always want to feel like I'm creating because I want to, because I think that yields the best results. So yeah, I don't know… book, movie, all that stuff… it is my highest goal. That's the way that I work: I set the highest goal I can, and if I could have anything I wanted, if money and time were no object, I aim as high as I can go, and I work towards it. And if I die or lose a limb or something that hinders me from doing it, well, I had a good run. But that will be the kind of mountain on the horizon that I'm always going for.

So, who knows? I might be 50 before all this stuff is done; I literally have no idea. But I'm just having fun and working on it in the meantime. So yeah, it'll come at some point, but it's always on the horizon for me. It's always in the back of my mind. So, one of these days… But I'm really excited. I can't wait."

Hell Ain't So Bad - Part Sixteen

summary: Ellie was lost in the world, homeless with no idea what to do and nowhere to go.. Who would have thought that one day, she’d end up working in hell itself.. And what does this even mean?

It wasn’t the first day that Noah turned up at the office to spend the morning with them dealing with souls. Dropping in and teasing her had become a bit of a pastime for him she’d noticed over the last couple of months, not to mention hanging out with the guys. As Jolly said, “Anything to get out of work, hey Noah?”. That had earned him a chuckle from the demon and a toss of Folio’s football at his head that day.

Ellie didn’t think that was true though, Noah trying to get out of work, especially when it came to the times that he had turned down coming by to hang out with them. No, she just felt like because of his position, he chose to delegate when he could, and picked and chose when he got hung on, and no, she tried not to think about Noah getting hands-on with his work. Not because it made her squeamish thinking about him torturing people, but because it brought her right back to their weapons sessions, and her reasons to them.

They’d had a few more since that first night… and each had been equally as enjoyable. There were times she was tempted to ask if they should just be a set date night at this point, but no, Noah just claimed he wanted to make sure she was safe here, and no one could hurt her, so he was going to continue to teach her. She liked to think she was getting better, at the very least, better at target practice... Actually, to be more specific, she was improving when Noah wasn’t distracting her each time he put his hands on her body correcting her stance, and then when he didn’t need to correct her stance.

Today, he had decided to join them in the office, and she just knew it was going to be one of those days he was going to spend teasing her something relentless. Even if they didn’t talk about specifics about what was happening between them, and they really should, Ellie was just enjoying what was happening. No, no, that was a lie. While she was enjoying it, she was terrified about the day coming she would have to leave. How long were living humans allowed to stay, and how long was it safe for living humans to stay? Would she live out her years here.. Could she just live out her whole life here?

Would anyone in the rest of the world even miss her if she did? Maybe. She knew there were people she had watched out for herself, but those had been other people on the street. She did wonder what happened to them and had asked Steven when she saw him if he could look out for them, got updates on them, they were doing fine according to his food truck apparently. It was nice to know that, she would admit.

Now she was watching him play foosball with Folio across the room, he’d magicked the thing out of thin air when they’d started talking about something or other, and she’d lost track. All she knew was, like usual, the challenge had been laid down, at least when it had come to a morning at work, the shot glasses had been brought out, because that would have been a disaster, not that it would have been the first time. Sooner or later, they were going to crash and burn, but at least today they found a way to compete that didn’t involve punishing their bodies with pain and suffering later. Still, it was while she was watching them argue about where the bounds for the ball was in the goal was, that she realised just why Noah was here, and it didn’t really have anything to do with teasing her after all.

It was a soul.

They didn’t always get names and explicit details, and sometimes, the souls that came through were last-minute arrivals, she assumed they were accidental deaths in that case, but it would seem the fact that Noah had been here, and she doubted that it was just a coincidence that he was, that he’d known this one was coming through already.

The soul walked through, and the moment she saw this one, Ellie felt a twist in her gut.

She wanted to see him even less than she wanted to see Carla.

It was Jeremy.

The Ex-Boyfriend who had been cheating on her with Carla. The ex that she had given more than two years of her life to, and had believed she was in love with… in love with. How had she thought she was in love with that man?

Glancing around, the way he eyed Jolly, Folio, and Noah, he sneered, obviously, he wasn’t impressed, by their casual clothes, or their tattoos, why would he be, dressed in his tailored high-class suit as he was, stuck up asshole. Ellie remembered he’d been studying to be some fancy fucking lawyer, asshole, red flag, she should have run right then and there, but she hadn’t. He’d had her wrapped around his little fingers. She’d been so stupid. Swallowing, she didn’t know what to do when his eyes fell on her, and he scoffed,

“Of course, you’d be here, pathetic, so pathetic. But where else would you end up right, working customer service in HELL, the lowest of the fucking lows. God. So worthless.”

He walked towards her with that smarmy smirk, but then a look flashed in his eyes as if he’d suddenly gotten some bright idea.

“Though, I bet you could-”

But before he could even get close to her, Noah was right there, moving in front of her, stepping between them, his hulking frame seeming even taller than he usually did. Considering even on a normal day his six foot three physique towered over most around him, but right now he looked so much more intimidating, and Ellie knew he was doing it on purpose, this wasn’t just a trick of the mind, he was pushing the visage of his demonic nature. Even from behind him, she could see those horns peeking out from his temples and could so clearly picture the fire flickering in his eyes, his demonic form showing through.

Seeing the colour drain from Jeremy’s face, she could bet that now Noah was ALL demon standing in front of him right now.

“How dare you even speak to her.”

Jeremy’s smirk was shaky, the front he put on was obvious, and Ellie couldn’t help but smirk herself, asshole.

“Oh I get it, you got a thing for her do you? Oh don’t worry, I saw that ass too, thought she’d make such a great plaything.”

Grunting slightly,

“But damn, sorry to tell you, I probably know her a bit better than you, pal,”

Noah bared his fanged teeth at Jeremy making the man pause. Not that he was smart enough to stop his mouth running, not even as Ellie spied the way Noah’s claws formed at his sides.

“And frankly, dude,”

Jeremy had the gall to look Noah up and down as if he thought he could measure up to the demon lord in any way.

“If I couldn’t satisfy her when we were together, you don’t stand a chance. Good luck getting her to open her legs, she’s nothing but a frigid bitch anyway, I had to find another hole to take care of my needs.”

The idiot smirked, as if he sounded smart having taken care of his needs, when he was revealing himself to be literally nothing but a douche. Then Jolly was pushing Ellie’s bat into her hand beside her inconspicuously.

The fact that Jeremy talked about women like that, referring to Carla like that, a hole, almost made her feel bad for her former friend, though she remembered that Carla hadn’t been innocent in how she’d behaved either. Carla, whom she’d been friends with longer than she’d known Jeremy, had betrayed her, for him. Ellie just felt sick that this, this was the man that she’d thought she loved once.

The growl that was escaping Noah, however, was something else, the menacing demonic sound reverberated through the air, and it was the sexiest fucking sound she had ever heard in her life,

“Let me get something straight, you insignificant worm,”

Her thighs quivered at the rough growl of his voice as Noah spoke in his full demonic transformation,

“You begged her to kiss you, she begs me to fuck her, we are not the same.”

Oh God.

He was utterly perfect, and he was… no… no he wasn’t hers, not yet.

But she wanted him to be. She had to fix that, and she would.

“Okay, that’s it, I’ve had enough.”

Ellie spoke up before Jeremy could figure out how to open his mouth again, bring up her bat, and putting everything Noah had taught her so badly, and swung it up around the back of Jeremy’s head, hitting him with enough force to knock him out and give him quite the fucking headache when he woke up in the punishment dimension he was going to be sent to.

After he went down like a sack of potatoes, Noah smirked and leaned over Jeremy swiping a claw over his face, not to make him bleed, or even scratch, but to let a wave of magic sink into his skin, forcing him to sleep a touch longer than the hit would usually have him sleep. He had plans for this one. He was being sent to one of his personal torture dimensions, just as Carla was in. He’d told Ellie, that there were some people even lower on the list, that he took personal interest in, both of these people had hurt his BabyGirl, and they were not about to get away with it. There were others, and he was waiting on them. Standing back up, looking back at her, his demonic face grinning wickedly.

“Well done, BabyGirl.”

Ellie however looked up to Noah, in all his demon glory, and didn’t even blink, the look she gave him was so soft, full of longing.

“Take me home?”

They stopped to pick up lunch, and once they were done eating, Ellie was sitting curled up on the couch, pressed against Noah’s side. He’d shifted back to his human form before they left the office, not wanting to attract more attention amongst Hell. Ellie had noticed that his demon nature did seem to draw more of his shadows attention when he was out and about than when he was human, not that that was saying much, there were days when she had to fight just to talk to him, so it was no surprise that a lot of the time they spent a lot of their time together with their friends, in one of their apartments.

“I don’t want to leave.”

Feeling his hand run down her back slowly,

“You don’t have to, BabyGirl.”

“I mean ever, Noah, I want to stay. I want to be with you. I want to be yours.”

“Are you not mine already, my BabyGirl?”

Ellie smiled a little to herself as she nuzzled against his chest hearing that, while he phrased it as a question, it didn’t sound like a question. He’d been calling her that since long before they’d really been a thing. He’d been teasing her with it from the very day they’d met. The night they’d met even.

“And when I grow old, and I die here, would you still want me to be your BabyGirl then?”

Her breath caught, waiting, scared of the answer, terrified of the reality, that he might not be thinking of what was going to happen to her, that she wasn’t like the other souls because she hadn’t passed through those doors like Jolly and Folio had. She didn’t know what would happen when she died, if she finally came through that door in all those years to come, would she end up in a punishment realm, would she be the same as she always was?

Noah reached across him and lifted her chin to make sure she was looking up to him,

“Nothing, nothing in this realm, or any other, could ever make me not want you to be my BabyGirl. You will always be my BabyGirl.”

Leaning down, he pressed his lips to hers in a soft kiss, letting it linger in a soft, sweet kiss.

Happy summer time (it's summer for me!), I hope the nice weather is treating you well 💖

3 things I want to share: Operation Olive Branch 🕊️ is a spreadsheet with vetted GoFundMe's for Palestinians, as well as some for those in DRC and Sudan. I also want to add that many of these fundraisers meet their goals through small donations not large sums from the wealthy. If this isn't evidence of our collective power and care while many of us also experience economic struggle, then idk what is!

Crips for eSims for Gaza ♿ which is actually co-coordinated by a friend!!! It pools money together for purchasing eSims for Palestinians in the Gaza strip. All the images, news, live updates, and fundraisers we see are through the use of eSims and there is always an urgent need for them!

and a Fundraising tip: Get a group of friends or one of the communities you are a part of to pick a GoFundMe from Operation Olive Branch or one of the many asks going around tumblr and campaign for them. Sometimes you can get in touch and receive updates from the family too. My friend who co-coordinates the above^^ is campaigning for someone named Hamza and we found out he's a huge football fan (for Spain lol). You can do things like run book drive and used book sale/bake sale, sell some crafts, even take fic or drawing requests if it's online friends, or even post like crazy!! Collective effort does way more! You can also try to find any local Palestinians trying to fundraise for their families or family friends!

HAPPY SEPTEMBER !

Can you believe that we've made it to the 'ber months already?! September is coming in strong, with a ton of little mini events, our Grill-Off, and Creek Fest! Under the cut, you will find a list of everything going on in town (feel free to interact with any of the events any way that you see fit!), plus some rule reminders and a few mod notes that are important to read. xx

ON THE CALENDAR !

SEPTEMBER 1 -- WORLD LETTER WRITING DAY: a fun day to write a letter to anyone you'd like... except we're letting you do it all month long, as a part of this recycled task.

SEPTEMBER 2 -- LABOR DAY: with schools and some businesses closed, it's the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy a picnic with your family, or a fun day with your friends.

SEPTEMBER 3 -- FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL: the kids in elementary, junior and high school head back to school, as well as the professors and students at Merrock Community College!

SEPTEMBER 4 -- WILDLIFE DAY: come to the state park and jump in on a flora and fauna walk to get to know all of the wonderful wildlife around Merrock.

SEPTEMBER 6 -- FOOTBALL GAME: home!

SEPTEMBER 7 -- THE GREAT MERROCK GRILL-OFF: info here!

SEPTEMBER 12 -- VIDEO GAMES DAY: the Community Center has arranged for a fun day where everyone is invited to come out and play video games! Bring your own consoles & games.

SEPTEMBER 13 -- FOOTBALL GAME: away!

SEPTEMBER 17 -- COUNTRY MUSIC DAY: starting at 5PM at Tumbleweed, live country music will be taking the stage, perfect for you to bring your honey out for some boot, scoot 'n boogie.

SEPTEMBER 20 -- FOOTBALL GAME: away!

SEPTEMBER 21-28 -- CREEK FEST: info here!

SEPTEMBER 22 -- FIRST DAY OF FALL: get out and enjoy the fall air! or at least, hopefully, we're not still dealing with summer's heat, and can relish in the best season.

SEPTEMBER 25 -- LOBSTER DAY: head on down to Sandcastles to enjoy some delicious lobster dishes at a discount, or make your way over to the fish market to pick some up to cook at home!

SEPTEMBER 26 -- BINGO NIGHT: stop by the fire hall to play a couple of rounds of bingo, with all money raised going directly to the volunteer fire department.

SEPTEMBER 27 -- FOOTBALL GAME: home!

SEPTEMBER 29 -- COFFEE DAY: buy one, get one free on any and all coffee drinks that you could possibly one at Cobblestone! one day only, so don't miss out!

IMPORTANT STUFF !

I have updated our rules for the season! Please take a little time to read them over when you have the chance. Most everything has stayed the same, but there are a few little things that I wanted to talk about, to make sure we clarify expectations:

the waiting period between muses has been moved to two weeks. 99% of pick-ups were waiting this long anyway, and we think it makes sense as far as settling in first!

every other FC you pick up must be diverse. however, once you reach 3, you are no longer allowed to play more cis white muses than diverse muses. that means that if you play 2 white and 2 diverse, to pick up a 5th, they must be diverse. the goal is that half or more of your characters must be diverse.

for activity checks, I will be looking for bubbling every week instead of every other -- however, you are only interacting with one writer that week, we will give you a warning, instead of an automatic strike. this way, you have a chance to fix it for a whole week before you will be given a strike!

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT !

Genuinely, from the bottom of our hearts: we love this group. But of course, there is always room for improvement, things that we can all do to keep dash a more fun, productive space for everyone. This month, we're asking everyone to be mindful about maintaining interactions / threads with everyone in the group. Avoid dropping threads that people might be relying on for activity -- for example, if you want to let something from the carnival go, hey, no one's going to mind that, it's older! But if you're dropping beach bash threads on day four of the beach bash, that's not so great. Be sure that you're keeping up with all of the threads you have. It's okay if you have heavy muse for something, as long as you are still working on other threads and not letting them fall behind. With the start of a new month, it's always a good time to get into new practices! Maybe make yourself a thread tracker, so you can keep track of what you owe, and things aren't left by the wayside, or just get into the habit of double, triple checking that you're replying to everything, and not just the most recent things that come up (older stuff gets buried). Whatever works for you. And it's also a good time to start new things! To reach out to writers that you haven't gotten the chance to write with yet, or maybe to reach out to those you are writing with and say hey, let's start something fresh! xx

Electronic Arts Q1 2024 Earnings Conference Call (August 1st)

This happened today and Dragon Age was mentioned in the opening Prepared Remarks section of the call (emphasis mine):

"To do more extraordinary things for our people, players and communities, our teams are building the strongest pipeline in the history of EA to drive multi-year growth. Over the next few years, we will launch numerous experiences that grow and deepen the fandom of our legendary IP. Our multi-year targeted investments toward our biggest opportunities include global titles like blockbuster storytelling from Dragon Age, incredible skateboarding gameplay and social connection from skate, and a revival of EA SPORTS College Football that celebrates the action, culture and tradition of the sport like never before. We’re also hard at work on a new experience from The Sims that will transform what players can do with creativity, a sprawling action adventure Iron Man game, a reimagination of Battlefield as a truly connected ecosystem, and the expansion of the Apex Legends universe across platforms, geographies, and modalities of play. The most recent reveal of our Black Panther project — set in a massive, explorable universe — marks the latest chapter in EA’s collaboration with The Walt Disney Company and the Marvel Games team."

Dragon Age was then mentioned during the Q&A section of the call (emphasis mine):

Q: "Last quarter it was noted that players were concentrating their spend on major franchises. Just wanted to see first if there was any update to that? And then, Andrew, in your commentary you highlighted a goal for Apex as an experience across platforms, I'm assuming that includes mobile as well, so can you speak to how you envision potentially relaunching that title on phones and how the approach could differ to the prior game? Thank you." A: "Yeah, so let me touch on the first part. I do think we continue to see big titles getting bigger, and live services getting bigger, and certainly as a company with a broad portfolio of large-scale IP and large-scale live services, we believe that we will be long-term beneficiaries of that trend. You know, that doesn't mean that we won't build smaller titles over the course of time. There are these incredible stories that we believe should be told in the context of entertainment. We are focusing our investment so that we can build a cost-base around those that's appropriate, but we're also really getting behind our biggest opportunities, and as we've talked about, our strategy and building these experiences that entertain massive online communities. Our expectation is that will be a large scale growth driver for us. But, you know, when thought about the right way, games like, you know, Dragon Age, and Jedi, can tell truly blockbuster stories and really break into that top category of games. I think what we see today is the mid-tier and lower games that, you know, maybe did pretty well through Covid because people had a lot of spare time - they're the part of the industry that really aren't doing and performing as well. And as we think about our future, you should expect that we'll continue to focus our investments and our energy and our resources against these big opportunities because we do believe that is where the industry is trending."

Author’s note: First chapter of 2024!! Happy new year babes! So, unfortunately, the updates on the story won’t be very regular given it’s exam season and school is sucking the life out of me, but I will try my best to update as regularly as possible!

“I thought you’d be more of a Ronaldo girl, given you live in Manchester.”

“My parents house is in London. That’s where I grew up. I moved to Manchester in 2022.”

“So, here’s a question for you. Where does the name ‘Chelsea’ come from? When Mase told me I was shocked.”

“So, my dad is a massive fan of the club. Always attending the games whether that’s Premier League, FA cup, Carabao cup, Champions league games, name it. He has pictures of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba on his office walls and replicas of signed shirts.”

“And then you were born, giving your father the perfect opportunity to name you Chelsea.”

“Exactly.”

“The name really suits you. Royal blue vibes. Which leads me to my next question, which club do you support?”

The drive to Manchester was one of the most enjoyable I’ve ever had, with Ben on the line, talking about our lives and getting to know each other. I feel like it would’ve been better if we were face to face but things have their time.

He was so keen on getting to know me better and I was too. I’ve been a fan of his for so many years, something I haven’t admitted yet, and learning more things about his life brings a smile to my face.

“A professional never reveals their favorite team. I have to remain unbiased, impartial and fair to every team.”

“But now you’re not being fair! Come on, it’s just the two of us. I swear I won’t tell a soul.”

“Look, here’s a deal. If you score a goal at the next match that I will happen to commentate on, I will tell you my favorite club. Deal?”

“Fine, you win. A goal for the club it is. You have a deal.” I can hear him groaning annoyed at the offer I made.

Sometimes life is not jolly for footballers either.

“It was lovely talking to you Benjamin. I have to go now unfortunately, just arrived home and I need to prepare my notes for Manchester’s next game.”

“Oh yes, I fully understand. I enjoyed our conversation and getting to know you better. Talk to you later, blue.” I smile at the nickname ‘blue’. It’s not the usual ‘chels’ but I very much like it.

When I open the door I instantly kick off my shoes and drop on the couch as if I am a human slushee. Every inch of my body hurts. And my heart as well. How can Jenson say such nasty things in front of my face?

Does he think I’m a slut? After all we’ve confessed to each other? Do these ‘I love you’s mean nothing to him?

“I love you and I appreciate your effort but no. We’ve been on a massive losing strike and I should be the one asking you to let me score a goal.”

“What if we both score? Game ends up 1-1, shared points?”

“Score all the goals you want against Palace all you want tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll be tuned in.”

“You can’t imagine how happy I was while we were talking. It felt good chatting again with a girl that was genuinely interested in getting to know me and not simply looking to fuck me.”

Being a footballer at the highest level, an England international and presumably one of the most handsome players in the league, can earn you the attention of many women. It’s just shame that most want to be with you simply for publicity reasons.

Chelsea was asking me questions that none of my previous girlfriends had ever bothered to ask me. What was my life in high school like? My favorite position to play in as a child? Favorite memory with friends from high school or teammates? I was stunned and touched by how much she was focused on detail.

“Chelsea is a good one. I’ll just warn you to be careful around the loverboy she’s with. Seems like a feisty one.”

“I wanna be her friend first and foremost. I want to get to know her and get close to her. It’ll be good to add another person to my inner circle and have a laugh with.”

Mason stops talking abruptly, I hear him opening his front door and quietly walking outside. He takes his keys with him and I am assuming he is afraid that something is going on.

"Everything okay mate?" I ask from the other line of the phone but Mason hushes at me really quickly.

"I can hear yelling from Chelsea's apartment. I can see two cars parked in front of her house, but I can't tell who is the person standing in front of her door."

"Is she alright? Is it her father?" worry rushes through me and my heartbeat is rising extremely fast.

"It looks like Jenson. Wait, I will call you back, I'm going here to help her get rid of him."

"I need to be alone right now Jense, what can't you understand?" It's incredible how I am literally begging for a few days of sanity.

"I can't live on the other side of England, knowing that my girlfriend is angry at me." The word 'girlfriend' almost made me throw up.

"I am not your girlfriend. You never asked me to be. You were the one who suggested we didn't put a label in our relationship and me being a classic idiot, I agreed" It should have been a warning sign that Jenson was not taking me as seriously as I thought.

"I thought that by saying 'I love you' to each other, this meant that our relationship was serious enough that we didn't have to labelize it."

"The moment you finally realise what I am to you, instead of just assuming, give me a call Jenson." I try to shut the door at his face but he holds it open with his arm. Fuck him.

"You have to be joking? Right? Come on Chels, don't act like a five year old." The moment those words left his mouth, I could have easily shed a river of tears but I had to show him that I wasn't as vulnerable as the current situation made me be.

Asking him to take me seriously is me acting like a kid? By that, he simply proves my point.

In the heat of the moment, before I could answer, Mason showed up, holding two bottles of wine, empty. I was kind of weird out by what he was trying to do. But I didn't question him.

"Hey, I am so sorry to interrupt, but you had promised to give me some of your cousin's wine. Guests are waiting." Mason said in a shyly manner, trying not to catch Jenson's attention too much.

"Oh yes, sorry, they are in my celery, let me bring them." I say, thankfully with the assistance of Mason and him using a very convincing lie.

"I will call you tomorrow Chelsea. You better pick up." Jenson's voice was extremely stern and all I did was nod to him. Not even a 'goodbye'. A simple head movement.

Jenson shut the door behind him and Mason let out a sigh of relief. He placed the bottles on the table and pulled out his phone to text someone, who ended up being Ben himself.

"Are you okay? The moment I heard screaming, I thought something was going on and we both got worried." My heart melted at the thought of two footballers and possible best mates of mine worrying about loud noises.

"Wait, who is we? Do you actually have guests?"

"No. I was on the phone with Ben when the yelling started. I told him about it and he got so worried that he was about to tell me to call the police."

Ben barely knows me 48 hours and yet he acts like the boyfriend Jenson isn't. Cares about me from distance and needs a double check from his friend.

"Thank you guys for everything. I don't know how to repay you. You saved a possible self invitation of Jenson at my house."

"It was nothing, Chels. We are friends. That's what we do. No need to repay us."

"Sure? If you need anything just tell me."

"Well, now that I am thinking about it, would you like to attend with me Chelsea vs Crystal Palace? Unless you're on the commentary box during the game."

"I won't be. Because the next day I will be commentating on United vs Fulham."

"Is that a yes then?"

"Definitely a yes!"

Unless stated otherwise by our management team, all of these activities are optional. Residents do not have to take part in these if they don't wish to ! These can be used for threads throughout the month but new threads can't be started for these activities once the month is up. Please track the smhqcalendar tag to stay updated month to month ( ©️ )

Valparaíso Activities:

January 6th: Valparaíso City Hall is hosting a New Year, New Me concert at Quintil Valparaíso Park from 6 PM - 2 AM, no admission fee. Expect to see food stalls, face paintings, mini shops and wares, lawn games, and merchandise from your favorite artists. (If you’d like your muse to be a vendor or a performer, please message the main!)

January 7th: La Universidad de Bellas Artes is holding an open house from 8 AM - 3 PM. Parents, prospective / incoming students, and alums are encouraged to attend. You can tour the university, meet the professors, see what courses and events are going to be hosted for the 2024 year, and see the student organizations.

January 13th: La Cocina de los Años 30 is hosting a Reggaeton Night from 8 PM - 12 AM. There will be live music, a curated menu just for the night, and a raffle, where one lucky person may win a cooking class for themselves and up to 10 friends. For those of you that know the password, the event continues underground in the secret speakeasy, where you can enjoy a separate, curated food and drink menu, and an exclusive performance by Bad Bunny.

January 20th-21st: Valparaíso City Hall is hosting a football (soccer) tournament at Quintil Valparaíso Park from 8 AM - 8 PM to raise money for charity. The top three winning teams will receive gift baskets and have their photos taken for an exclusive spread in La Revista de Valparaíso for the February edition; the first place team will also have their team photo featured in the 2025 calendar. Santa Moneda Activities:

January 1st: SM Management will be coordinating travel and stay in Arica, Chile, for residents who want to attend El Carnaval Andino con la Fuerza del Sol, Chile’s largest festival and one of the biggest in South America. It is a three-day festival (January 26-28) held in Arica in northern Chile. 10,000 dancers and musicians turn the city into their stage; you can expect to see colorful parades, shows, dances, and cuisines in food stalls from all over. You don’t want to miss this event! Speak to the front desk to sign up.

January 1st-31st: To help you reach those New Year New Me fitness goals, the Santa Moneda Indoor Gym will be adding 4 classes that residents can attend.

Hot Yoga Class - Saturdays, and Sundays at 9 AM and 6 PM. Barre Class - Mondays and Thursdays at 11 AM and 6 PM. Bootcamp - Sundays and Wednesdays at 8 AM and 6 PM. Kickboxing - Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 AM and 6 PM.

January 4th: La Galería Navarro reopens at 8 PM with an entirely new exhibit for the new year curated by our very own Sariyah Carter. There will be several local artists presenting their works; champagne and hor’dourves will be provided during the event. Cocktail attire is required. Many of the art pieces are for sale; if you’re interested in purchasing, please talk to the curator for more information on pricing and pieces.

Mateo Valenzuela is a painter specializing in art nouveau; they will be discussing their most recent collection, titled, El diablo en los detalles. Emilia Fuentes is a versatile sculpturist who dabbles in various styles and materials; they will be discussing their sculpting methods, techniques, and inspirations. Ángel Altamirano is a painter specializing in hyperrealism; she will be discussing her most recent collection, titled, Transparente.

January 18th: Santa Moneda is hosting a Chilean Movie Marathon in the Movie Theatre on the 13th floor. Feel free to bring your own snacks and pillows, but management will provide buttered popcorn (plain or dressed up with cotija, chili, and lime), soda, and SM-engraved blankets.

5 PM - El Chacotero Sentimental (1999) : El Chacotero Sentimental (The Sentimental Teaser) is a titillating film inspired by the stories of romance, love, and sexual encounters from the real-life radio program of Chilean DJ el Rumpy. This movie is a beautiful rendition of loneliness and the vast Chilean south; The landscape submerges us in a hazy, thoughtful state, and inspires us to slow down and admire the charm and elegance of routine. 12 AM - La Casa Lobo (2018) : La Casa Lobo (The Wolf House) is an adult stop motion animated art film inspired by the actual case of Colonia Dignidad, an infamous and isolated colony established post-WWII. The movie uses elements of avant-garde cinema, dark fantasy, adult animation, psychological drama, surrealism, and supernatural horror.

January 23rd: We will be running an upgrade on the internet connection and speed, as well as doing virus scans on all SM equipment.
