My "Batter" Half
Tumblr media
A/N: Written for @tsukimefuku's foodies and goodies challenge. Coming out of a bit of a writing slump with everything going on atm, so I hope this doesn't disappoint.
Pairing: Nanami x Fem! Reader (Desi reader coded)

Nanami sits on one of the barstools at your kitchen’s island watching you bustle around getting all the grains the recipe called for.
“Sweetie, I only asked if it was possible sometime this week. You don’t have to make it for me right away.”
You shush him, pushing your hair out of the way as you measure the Sona Masoori rice, flat rice, and fenugreek, throwing them all into a large baking bowl and hefting the bowl towards the sink, adding in enough water so that a thin layer covered all of it. You cover the bowl with saran wrap and place it away on the countertop.
There was no question that you loved cooking for Nanami, but something in you glowed when he asked for South Indian food. There was a regular rotation in what the pair of you cooked but when he asked for masala dosa, you melted inside, all of your senses kicking into high gear to feed him what he craved. It was comfort food for you growing up, and it meant the world to you that he had grown to love it too.
He knew the effort it took, an almost 2-day process just to make the batter, so he didn’t normally ask for it. The first step was done, letting the grains ferment overnight in water. You wash your hands and join him at the island.
“It’s no trouble at all Kento. Anything for you.” You rest your head against his shoulder, a soft sigh emanating from him as he puts an arm around you. “Hopefully it’ll be all nice and soft tomorrow. Then I’ll run it through the grinder to make the batter and it’ll have to sit overnight in the oven, so don’t plan on baking anything tomorrow.”
He chuckles, the soft vibrations felt against your hair. “Roger that. But you still didn’t have to get started so immediately.”
“You rarely ask for anything. I couldn’t resist.” You press a kiss to his cheek. “Let’s go to bed.”
── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
The next day morning, you check the bowl, pleased to see all the components have fluffed up and taken in as much water as they could. You begin to set up the little grinder that would change the grains into batter, carefully placing the rod mechanism attached to two 5-pound stones into the apparatus. Once in place, you switch it on, and carefully begin adding the grain mixture in between the two stones, adding water to help it along and adjust the thickness. Once all the rice has been put into the contraption, you sit and wait, watching the batter form, checking it for smoothness and ensuring the grain wasn’t clustering into lumps.
You salt the mixture well and then cover it again with saran wrap, then place it inside the oven, where the added humidity would help the batter thicken and rise, making for the fluffiest dosas.
Kento wanders downstairs, ready for work in a crisp shirt and tie, eyes taking in the scene in the kitchen. “Someone was up early today,” he observes as you start disassembling the grinding machine. You give him a pleased smile and carefully set the heavy stones back into the box they belonged in.
“Had to. The earlier I start the process, the quicker it’ll ferment. Who knows, maybe even by tonight if we get lucky.”
Nanami smiles tenderly and pulls you into a hug. “Whenever honey. I’m just glad you took the time to make it.”
You kiss him tenderly before he leaves for work.
── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
The day has finally arrived. You check the oven and almost giggle from the delight of seeing the fluffy batter resting in the large bowl. It was ready.
As Nanami slept in, a rare luxury he could only afford on weekends, you begin prepping the dosa filling, throwing the potatoes into a pressure cooker, while chopping onions into half-circles. Once the pressure cooker whistles 3 times, you take it off the flame, waiting for it to cool, before mashing the potatoes. Deftly, you heat the oil in a large wok, tossing in mustard seeds, green chilies, and black lentils for tempering. Once they start to sizzle, you throw a few curry leaves on top, the pleasant crackle bringing a smile to your lips.
The onions and potatoes are tossed into the wok and mixed with a pinch of turmeric, and some cilantro. A fragrant scent fills the kitchen as you set it aside and get ready to make the dosa. A ladle dipped into the fluffy batter, then spread thinly on a greased pan, going in concentric circles from the middle until it starts to heat up and harden, becoming crisp. You scoop some of the onion potato filling and place it in the center, allowing the dosa to harden a little longer before folding it in half and placing it on a plate.
You’re about to start the second one when Nanami wanders into the kitchen, still in his pajamas.
“My nose woke me up,” he says good-naturedly, wrapping his arms around your waist.
You sigh contentedly, laying down the batter for the next one as Nanami breaks off a piece of dosa and tucks into the filling. He chews and swallows, savoring the spice.
“Delicious,” he whispers, and your heart swells with joy, his appreciation the only thing you needed.

lollipop kiss 🍭 kusakabe atsuya
Tumblr media
summary: your workplace crush, kusakabe, is pretty dense when it comes to romance, so you try to ease things out with a bag of lollipops.
cw: gn!reader x kusakabe, comedy, fluff, this man is completely clueless but reader isn’t making things any easier. making out and happy ending. there is a bartender very invested in the drama. a little suggestive if you squint.
wc: 1.4k
notes etc.: my contribution for the foodies and goodies challenge. i’m not tagging myself because the voices in my head haven’t reached that point yet. special thanks to @jjk-eugie for inspiring me, i had hit a slump on this (you can read their kusahigu fic that saved my life here). song (?) > sugar, sugar (the archies). I had a lot of fun writing this, hope you enjoy it too!
Tumblr media
Here’s the thing - Kusakabe was a brilliant sorcerer. He was regarded by all of the other first grades as the strongest first grade there was.
Regarding human matters, though, he could - and frequently would - be dense like a rock.
To put it bluntly - not a door, but just as thick.
So when it came to romance, attempts to get his attention usually fell on deaf ears.
When you realized you had it down bad for him, you knew you were in for a ride, to say the least.
First, there were the coffee attempts. You had to call him out for a coffee around three times before he accepted it - according to him, there was no need to spend money going out for coffee when Jujutsu High provided you all with free vending machine coffee. You had to patiently explain to him that leaving the premises for a while was the actual goal.
Then, came the drink nights. These weren’t particularly hard, given he did like his alcohol, but he always invited someone else to tag along. Utahime had the good sense to stop going after realizing what you were trying to do when inviting Kusakabe out, but you weren’t as lucky with the other sorcerers.
And finally, something about the days you went out together always gnawed at you. You felt like Kusakabe was in an unreadable state of mind. He’d either stare at you when you weren’t looking - fully believing you didn’t notice it -, or be the most unbothered person in that place. Whenever you approached him trying to make a move, he would act like he had absolutely no interest in you.
It was driving you insane.
Tonight, you were both sharing a few drinks after a particularly gnarly day at work, exorcizing curse after curse after curse. It was that time of year, after all. You were a few pints of beer in already, and he had downed at least two gin tonics by then.
“I’ve got a gift for you, Kusakabe!” you chirped.
“Really? What? Is it a special occasion?” he asked while looking at you surprised.
“No, I just saw it and I remembered you.”
You pulled a giant sack of lollipops from your bag and put it over the counter.
The bartender was looking from afar, and had taken the dynamic between you and Kusakabe as a live soap opera of sorts, one new chapter each week. Last week, you seemed particularly annoyed at the sorcerer and he didn’t notice it - as he usually wouldn’t unless you were literally screaming at him.
“Okay...” Kusakabe offered, slightly uncertain as he pulled the bag towards him.
“This supposedly has five flavors - peach, strawberry, mango, pineapple and watermelon. Since you always have a lollipop with you, I thought it would come in handy,” you chimed in, sparing him a smile.
“That’s... thanks,” was all he said, and for a moment you thought you saw his face and the tips of his ears take on a dusty pink tint.
“So... let’s taste it?”
“Hm... what?”
His face grew redder, and you were almost sure it wasn’t your imagination.
“The lollipops, Kusakabe. Taste the lollipops.”
The bartender scoffed from the other side, keeping down a chuckle.
“Oh! Yeah, sure,” Kusakabe replied, pulling the bag open.
And off you two went pulling lollipop after lollipop from the bag, one of each flavor.
After about an hour or so of chatting and candy, he pulled the only pineapple one there was inside the bag and shoved it into his mouth.
“Oh, that’s the only pineapple one,” you noted. The liquor-bought courage was finally kicking in, and you were ready to make a move.
“Hm, really? I’m sorry, I didn’t notice,” he replied, brushing the nape of his neck with his hand.
“Oh, it’s no trouble. Perhaps I can still taste it,” you remarked, a cheeky smile pulling on your face as you edged yourself closer to him.
The bartender heard your words and stepped nearby, fairly ignoring someone that was calling from the other side of the vicinity.
This was it. All the drama and emotional investment... The pay-off was finally coming.
“Oh, sure. Of course,” Kusakabe replied, and he signaled for the bartender, which got you and the bartender thoroughly confused, “can you get me a glass of water, please?”
It all went swiftly, much to yours and the bartender’s shock. Kusakabe got the glass of water, pulled the lollipop from his mouth, put it into the water and pushed it into your direction.
He seemed pleased with himself in finding a solution for a non-existent problem.
This man better be joking.
“Kusakabe, you moron!” You exclaimed angrily.
“What!? What happened? What did I do!?” Kusakabe asked in earnest, which just served to deepen your annoyance.
“I was asking for a kiss!” you furiously retorted.
He only registered the ‘I was asking’ part.
“Why not just ask for what you want?! Why can’t people simply ask for things directly?! I’m not a psychic!”
The bartender’s mouth formed a silent ‘o’ before it got covered with an incredulous hand.
The plot thickens.
“God, you have no ease for subtleties! How is that possible!? Are you even human!?” you were actively yelling at Kusakabe by that point, lifting yourself up from your seat.
“And are you allergic to communicating directly what you want?!” he retorted, feeling unjustly chastised for not understanding something he had no obligation to guess in the first place.
You grunted, enraged, and began stepping away from him, towards the bar’s exit. After you left, he face-palmed, upset that somehow, things went south with you again.
Only then it dawned on Kusakabe you said you wanted to kiss him.
“Fuck, I’m an idiot,” Kusakabe muttered to himself.
“Kind of,” the bartender mindlessly replied, forgetting this wasn’t an actual soap opera on TV, but a pretty interactive show.
“Huh?” the sorcerer questioned, not sure if he heard it right.
“I mean... I can put it all on your tab and you go after... Uh... it’s fine.”
Looking at the bartender, Kusakabe inhaled deeply and nodded, grabbing the lollipops bag, shoving it inside his trench coat’s pocket, and running after you.
“Hey!” Kusakabe exclaimed when outside, seeing you a little further ahead on the street.
You heard his voice and picked up your pace, taking a turn into a smaller, secondary street.
“Come on, I know you heard me, slow down!” his steps came quicker, and in a second he was right beside you, while you huffed and puffed in frustration.
“Just let me go home, Atsuya! This is too humiliating. I thought you liked me, but I think I’m the moron who got it all wrong!”
He held your arm and you halted your stomping, even though you kept staring at the ground, thoroughly embarrassed.
“You... didn’t,” he stated, voice uncharacteristically faltering.
“... What?”
Kusakabe delicately turned you to look at him and cupped the side of your face with his hand. His eyes were locked to yours, and for a moment, you felt your heart fluttering in your chest. You could smell the sweet, alcoholic scent from his breath, and that was when you realized just how close he was.
“I-“ he stuttered for a moment before clearing his throat, “I’m going to kiss you now.”
Your breath got caught in its way out for a second before you replied.
“Okay.”
He closed the gap between you both, pressing your bodies together with his hand over your back, and his lips descended to yours softly, waiting for you to meet him halfway. You pressed back against him, drawing both your hands to the nape of his neck, and deepened the kiss instantly, robbing him of a gasp.
Your tongue teased the seam of his mouth, and he welcomed you in, pressing his own tongue over yours.
Oh, you definitely tasted that pineapple lollipop.
His aftershave still lingered on his skin, and it smelled minty fresh, filling up your nostrils in an instant as your lips slid over each other.
You both parted for a moment.
“You know what?” you said with a smirk forming on your face.
“Hm, what?” he genuinely asked.
“I think the pineapple one was my favorite flavor.”
With an amused expression, he suddenly bit your chin, planting quick pecks and kisses down your jawline and neck.
You chuckled, asking, “since we’re out of the bar, would you like to come over to my house? I remember there were still a lot of lollipops in that bag and I don’t feel like leaving them all to you.”
With a mischievous smile on his face, he pressed a quick kiss on your lips before replying.
“Of course.”

Get that Bread, Sir
Written for the Foodies and Goodies challenge, created by the amazing @tsukimefuku !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ijichi hummed tunelessly, his fingers tapping out a rhythm on the steering wheel. Today was going to be a relatively stress-free day, a rarity in his line of work. And it was a Monday too. A stress-free Monday … practically unheard of! He owed it all to his overly diligent handling of the paperwork from the missions last week. He’d put in some overtime and managed to complete all outstanding tasks before the end of the day on Friday.
Friday afternoon had seen him exhausted, but happy and accomplished. He’d even managed to enjoy his weekend. And today … well. Nanami had requested his assistance on a mission in a quiet suburb, located an hour away from Shinjuku. The research had been run-of-the-mill and the file he’d compiled was handed over to Nanami with confidence that the information would guide him well.
Now, all he had to do was ensure that Nanami reached each location on time and make sure that the hard working first grade sorcerer had something to eat when he returned to the car. Speaking of which …
Ijichi checked his watch and nodded. It was almost lunch time. Nanami would probably complete his work at the marked location within the hour. It was time to go and buy him a meal.
Setting the car in gear, he pulled away from the kerb and drove slowly through the town centre, searching for any restaurants or seven-elevens that looked promising. Ijichi knew that Nanami preferred sandwiches, but was also partial to most food, provided that the ingredients were of good quality. He exclaimed softly as he spotted a small, but neatly kept deli on the corner, adjoining a bakery to the right. It looked like the perfect place to buy Nanami what he preferred.
Pulling up, he parked and hopped out, glancing up at the awning over the deli. It read “Sugimoto’s Slice of the Day”. The small board standing outside advertised that day’s specials: a pork cutlet sandwich, served with salad and a free coffee, and a baked cheese and corn with a pickled garnish and tea. Ijichi’s mouth watered at the thought of the cheese and corn on a cold day like this. He was also sure that Nanami would appreciate the sandwich.
Tugging slightly as his scarf, Ijichi pushed open the door of the deli, a small bell over the entryway tinkling musically as he made his way in. There were a few people in the shop, and he had obviously missed the lunchtime rush. He ordered his cheese and corn at the counter, turning to browse the shelves as he waited. He found some delicious looking croissants, along with a selection of freshly baked madeleines that he had always been partial to. Searching further, he breathed out a small sigh of relief when he saw that there was still one of the pork cutlet sandwiches left. As much as there were other options, this one looked particularly succulent.
As he reached for the sandwich, the bell over the door rang once again. Someone brushed brusquely past him and snatched the sandwich off the shelf, the same one he had been about to grasp. Ijichi turned, indignant, but the sudden hush that had descended over the store gave him pause. The person who had grabbed the sandwich was a stunning woman in a fitted maroon top and dark jeans, the sparkling diamond earrings she wore offset against her lush raven hair. She was obviously known in the area, because the quiet in the store was quickly broken by whispers and glances in her direction. The woman in question was looking at Ijichi as if he were a worm that had crawled out from under a rock.
“Problem?” she questioned, archly.
Now, Ijichi was normally a well-mannered, placid man who would not court trouble of any kind. Under other circumstances, he may have backed down and exited the store without comment, but there was something about this woman’s manner of speech and the way she looked at him, with that small, mocking smile, that rubbed him the wrong way. Not to mention, Ijichi had had to face down Gojo on a daily basis at work. Whoever this lady was, she certainly wasn’t in the league of the strongest sorcerer of modern times. This fact was what made Ijichi’s posture straighten, and his brows draw together.
“Yes, ma’am, there is a problem.”
She had been half turning away, but his words stopped her in place. Turning to him, one of her perfectly drawn eyebrows raised so high it almost disappeared into her hairline.
“And what, pray tell, may that be?”
“I was about to take that sandwich when you grabbed it. In a very ill-mannered way, might I add. I’d appreciate it if you put that sandwich down.”
She looked at him incredulously.
“Do you know who I am?”
The whispers around them were growing in volume. Ijichi’s mouth drew into a stubborn line.
“No, I’m afraid I don’t.”
The woman uttered a sharp bark of laughter. She didn’t bother responding to Ijichi, merely jerking her head at the burly man who seemed to be her companion. Ijichi noted that the man carried what looked like high-end filming equipment, an expensive video camera in his hand. ‘Muscles’, as Ijichi dubbed him in his mind, turned and shoved his bulk behind the woman, allowing her to progress to the counter unhindered.
Oh no. No, no. Not today.
Ijichi was not quite sure what came over him then. Perhaps it was the fact that they were in a small town which he was not likely to visit again. Perhaps it was the fact that none of the other sorcerers or any of his work colleagues were nearby. Maybe the miso soup he’d eaten for breakfast contained some special ingredient that gave him daring.
Grabbing one of Muscle’s elbows, Ijichi manoeuvred past him with ease, his sorcerer training coming in handy. In the same motion, he snatched the sandwich out of the woman’s hand, giving her no time to protest before he slapped some money down on the counter, grabbed his order of cheese and corn, and dashed out the door.
“Hey! You – “
“What the – “
“Get back here!”
“How dare you! Satou, get him!
For all their posturing, Ijichi was a lot faster than Muscles, who he now knew as Satou. By the time people had been pushed out of the way and the bakery door slammed open, Ijichi was already behind the wheel, pulling away from the kerb, swinging the steering expertly. In his rearview mirror he saw the woman grab the video camera away from her companion as they clambered into a white van with some kind of mural on the side. He noted that she had lifted the camera, from where she sat in the passenger seat, and seemed to be filming his car.
Oh no, you don’t.
Accelerating away, Ijichi took one hand off the wheel, raising his index and middle finger in front of him.
“Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness … “
Of all the jujutsu techniques, summoning a veil was the one that Ijichi was most proficient at. Although not possessing a huge amount of cursed energy, control and manipulation of the little he had had always been his strength. He could manipulate cursed energy to the point that he could make smaller, condensed curtains over objects and people of his choice. He used that ability now to shroud his car, such that any identifying factors would be impossible to record on camera.
Eat that, lady.
The country roads were winding and empty, allowing Ijichi to use his far superior driving skills to navigate the tricky turns and sharp bends with ease. Although his pursuers would probably be far more familiar with the area, they were no match for a Jujutsu Tech assistant determined to leave them in the dust. Ijichi eventually lost them, pulling to a stop in slightly concealed cul-de-sac. He consulted his GPS, nodding in satisfaction when he realised that he was not far from Nanami’s pick up point.
Emerging slowly from the cul-de-sac, Ijichi drove to Nanami’s location. Standing tall and intimidating in his longer-length warm coat, blonde hair gleaming in the winter sun, Nanami cut a distinctive figure standing on the sidewalk. Ijichi hoped that nobody would connect their arrival in town with the … incident.
Seeing the car, Nanami raised a hand and approached, clambering into the back seat. He exhaled heavily and worked the tension out of his neck.
“Successful mission, Nanami?”
“Yes. No issues. All targets at the location have been exorcised.”
Succinct as always, Nanami relaxed into the cushioned seat with a sigh and rubbed the bridge of his nose. Having known the man for this long, Ijichi knew that there was only one thing that could fix that fatigue. He was one of the very few who was privy to the sight of Nanami surrounded by breads and snacks of various kinds, the chiselled, angular face bulging slightly at the cheeks like a hamster as the sorcerer helped himself to the things that made him most happy.
Contrary to the stoic and cold demeanour Nanami showed most others, he was kind and generous with many things, including his food. He would often share with Ijichi and had even remembered all of Ijichi’s favourites. This was why Ijichi had gone through such lengths to procure that sandwich today. This man, of all sorcerers, was worth the effort. Reaching for the parcel in the passenger seat, he handed the wrapped sandwich to Nanami.
“Here you go. It’s a pork cutlet sandwich, with salad. There’s also coffee in the cup holder and some croissants. Still warm!”
“Ah, thank you.”
It was extremely subtle, but Nanami perked up immediately and unwrapped the sandwich, taking a large bite followed by a quick, satisfied sip from the coffee cup. Ijichi smiled and put the car in gear once again, heading for the interchange that would lead them back to Tokyo.
“Have you eaten, Ijichi?”
“Err … not yet. I’m not that hungry. I’ve got something for myself though, so I’ll warm it up at the next stop.”
He couldn’t exactly let Nanami know his reasons for wanting to book it out of that town as soon as possible.
____________________________________________________
Of course, things never worked out that smoothly for him.
Somehow, the story reached even a few news sources in Tokyo. The strange tale of the well-known morning magazine show host, Maeda Yoshino, who had been robbed of her sandwich by a mysterious dark-suited man. What drew the audience in wasn’t so much the bread snatching, but the fact that on the recorded footage, the car had been obscured by a dark cloud that was shaped suspiciously like a raised middle finger.
Yoshino and her assistant had insisted that they hadn’t seen such a cloud surrounding the car during the chase, but had never closed the gap enough to take the registration number. Yoshino appeared on TV, indignantly describing how the man had grabbed the last speciality pork cutlet sandwich right out of her hand.
Ijichi tried his best to avoid Nanami at work, knowing full well that the wily sorcerer would take no time at all to figure the situation out. It appeared that he had not been entirely successful there either. Coming in to work one morning, he paused as he noted a parcel on his desk. Opening it, he found a beautifully prepared pork cutlet sandwich with a note stuck to the packaging.
Next time, we’ll just go for yakiniku.
Nanami.

The Gift of Surprise: Unveiling Unique Presents
Tumblr media
Finding the perfect unique gifts can be a challenge. The usual suspects - ties, mugs, and picture frames - feel predictable. Fret not, there's a world of unique gifts waiting to surprise and delight! Here's your guide to finding extraordinary presents for every occasion.
Experiences over Things: Consider gifting an experience that creates lasting memories. This could be anything from a hot air balloon ride or a concert ticket to a cooking class or a weekend getaway. For the foodie, a gourmet food tour or a subscription box with exotic ingredients can be a delightful surprise.
Personalized Touches: Take a regular gift and elevate it with personalization. Websites offer custom phone cases, engraved jewelry, or even portraits made from a favorite pet's photo. For the crafty friend, a personalized knitting kit with their initials or a custom paint-by-number set featuring a cherished memory can be a thoughtful choice.
The Power of Handmade: Handmade gifts hold a special charm. Support local artisans by finding handcrafted pottery, scarves, or soaps at a farmer's market. Subscription boxes for handmade goods like artisanal cheeses or unique teas can be a delightful ongoing present.
Think Outside the Box (Literally): Subscription boxes have exploded in popularity, offering a curated selection of goodies delivered right to the recipient's door. There are boxes for every interest, from beauty products and coffee to hot sauces and gardening supplies. For the bookworm, a subscription to a service that sends a new, handpicked book every month is a guaranteed hit.
Gifts that Give Back: Show you care about the recipient and a cause they support by choosing a gift that gives back. Many charities offer donation gifts in someone's name, allowing them to contribute to a cause they care about. There are also companies that sell products where a portion of the proceeds goes towards a specific social cause.
Embrace Your Inner Chef: For the person who loves to cook, a basket filled with gourmet ingredients or a set of high-quality kitchen tools is a thoughtful choice. You could even create a personalized recipe book with handwritten family favorites or dishes specific to their cultural background.
The Gift of Learning: For the lifelong learner, a subscription to an online learning platform or a class in a skill they've always wanted to try, like pottery or coding, can be an inspiring gift. Museum memberships or tickets to a historical site or lecture series can spark intellectual curiosity.
Games for All Ages: Board games are no longer just for kids. There are countless strategic and cooperative board games designed for adults that provide hours of entertainment. For the techie, a virtual reality headset or a subscription to a gaming service can open up a new world of immersive experiences.
With a little creativity, you can find a unique gift that reflects the recipient's personality and interests. After all, the best presents are those that show you put extra thought and effort into making someone's day special.

Tumblr media
Hello, you amazing citizens of Tumblr. Here we are, the first writing challenge I’m happy to hold for no particular reason other than challenges are very fun.
We all know and love many Jujutsu Kaisen characters, and I guess many of us love food too. So, what if we join both passions in this challenge?
Welcome to “JJK foodies and goodies”, where you can send as part of the challenge a fic relating any JJK character with - you guessed it - food!
Slutty smut using food other than intended? Food preference head canons? A dinner scene? The sky is the limit, guys.
Tumblr media
One fic per writer.
Said fic or Drabble must be within the 400-2000 word count limit.
It has to be an original/not already posted piece, that was written specially for the challenge.
It must feature at least one JJK character in a main role.
There is no need for it to be “x Reader”.
Any genre is accepted, but be sure to tag it correctly at the beginning of your fic.
Tumblr media
Just to write and have fun with it. I might think of a next challenge with an actual prize, like a fanart or something of that sort, but this is supposed to be a simple bonding experience among writers and readers from the community. By the end of the challenge, I intend to make a masterlist with all of the submitted fics and put it in my pinned post.
Tumblr media
All submissions must be POSTED on your own blogs, TAGGING me (@tsukimefuku) and LINKING this challenge at the beginning, after May 26th and until June 21st.
Any story posted for the challenge after that deadline won’t be on the challenge’s masterlist.
Tumblr media
Considering this will be an extensive challenge to unite jjk fans and writers across the platform, I’d like to provide writers with a taglist for when they post their stories.
Readers and writer-readers: if you’d like to be on the tag list and support your fav writers works, please fill out this form (link) UNTIL MAY 25TH.
Writers interested in taking part on this challenge: on May 25th I’ll EDIT this post, putting the tag list here at the end for you to use on your fic, so be sure to save this somewhere safe :)
You don’t have to use the tag list, but you can if you want!
UPDATE: Here’s the taglist
@strawberry1042 @darkfaerietails @jay220a @fattybattysblog
@suguru-nugget @senseifupa @aleigant @gigiculona @rahuratna
@ibukiaa
And this is it, loves! Hope you all have fun. I know I will 🤓🦉

Tumblr media
Aliyah Mann ( She/Her ) is a Cisfemale, Thirty-five-year old Nurse who has been living in Moorbrooke for Two Months. They were born on April 10th and right now, they are currently residing in Coppingfield Crescent. It has been said that they look suspiciously like Shay Mitchell and if they had to choose a song to describe themselves, they would choose Boyfriend by Dove Cameron. ( Laura, 25, EST, she/her)
The lovely, kind-hearted and compassionate nurse from Dublin, Ireland was born on April 10th of 1987 to her parents; Nicholas and Ellen Mann. Aliyah’s parents never liked staying in one place, and with the crime rate increasing daily in Dublin, they realized it was no longer safe for their baby girl. After selling their home to the government, they were able to send Aliyah to the states where her grandmother resided.
Growing up outside of Ireland, Aliyah had a hard time in school with American lingo - wasn’t her fault - she just couldn’t understand half of what anyone was saying. Yes, Irish is an English language but when you’re not used to something, it becomes a challenge. Aliyah was a goodie-two-shoes, never once got in trouble or was late for class. Always received good grades, and never dealt with the drama.
Her goal: Help people.
Aliyah had an alcohol problem - and maybe still does. Amongst that, she suffers from depression and anxiety.
She eventually moved from Cucamonga, California to Moorbrooke, Maine with the intention of becoming a nurse. Though she's only been there for two months, her demeanor changed whenever she met new people; she enjoyed every bit of her job and new home. Somethings about Aliyah Olivia Mann:
She’s a coffee addict. She enjoys all kinds of music. She’s bisexual. She’s single and looking for love, but has doubts that love even exists. You’ll find her at sporting events. She’s a foodie, loves to bake and cook. Oh, and don’t forget reading - a bookworm at heart.

Who will be the last sim standing? Place your bets now…!
Thousands applied, but only eight were chosen… these are the sims hoping to be the Last Sim Standing!
Tumblr media
Deep in the Strangerville Desert lies a derelict plane, left exposed to the elements since it crashed there of unknown causes over fifty years ago. The rusted remains of sun-bleached metal hide a dark secret, however… deep beneath the wreck lies a massive complex filled with dastardly tasks meant to challenge our contestants to determine- through luck and sheer force of will- which one is worthy of the title of Last Sim Standing.
But more on the compound later. Just what is it these sims are competing for?
It’s not just glory that awaits them, though that would definitely be enough of a prize on its own. The winner will also receive §1,000,000 (tax-free!), a lavishly furnished mansion in Del Sol Valley, and the chance to live out their lives as they see fit in the background of a frequently played save file. What more could a sim ask for? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Without further ado, let’s meet our eight contestants! Like our compound, many of them also hide dark secrets of their own. They are…
Tumblr media
1: Mimi LeBeurre
Mimi is a neat, erratic foodie with a passion for baking. Don’t let her sweet looks fool you though… not all who have tasted her goodies survived it… She’s a tough cookie and ready to rock this challenge!
(Sim and blurb by @kimbr3)
Tumblr media
2: Penelope Garcia
Her official title is “Technical Analyst”, but some say her talents are better suited to more… anonymous pursuits. Under the alias “The Black Queen” she used her hacking skills to reroute millions of dollars from shady off-shore corporate accounts into the coffers of charities and non-profits. Some call her a modern-day Robin Hood, but they don’t know about the hundreds of thousands she skimmed to line her own pockets (and fund her obsessive Funko Pop collection)… She managed to avoid jail-time by becoming a consultant for the FBI, and now uses her skills to track down and convict cyber criminals just like herself. She’s become the thing she once hated most, but she seems totally fine with that.
(Sim by ACMWhitney (Origin ID), blurb by me.)
Tumblr media
3: Rufus Dunbrow
If there’s a health fad out there, Rufus was probably a part of it at one point. Juicing? Been there. Enemas? He’s had so many he’s lost a lot of feeling down there and now needs to wear adult diapers to bed. Detoxifying, cleansing, miracle pills, homeopathic cure-alls, IV “therapies”… he’s done it all, so much so that if he donated his body to science they’d probably turn it down.
It may be obvious, but he’s obsessed with his body image. This has lead him in recent years to start working out; a noble goal, except the results weren’t as instantaneous as he would have liked. So, he got a little help from a friend- and their magic syringe filled with steroids, hormones, and other chemicals- to help him instantly “bulk up”.
He probably couldn’t lift a baby if you asked him, but hey, at least he looks good. He spends his time strutting around trying to pick people up at the beach in Del Sol Valley. He’s rarely successful, but that doesn’t stop him from trying. Who wouldn’t want a ride on the Dunbrow Train to Boneville?
(Sim by @shoobysims, blurb by me.)
Tumblr media
4: Kristie Sewell
This is Kristie. She’s a “famous” simstagram model who thinks the world revolves around her and she’s allowed to do anything just because she has a couple followers. Her traits are snob, mean and jealous and she really acts like it!
She’s a vegan but doesn’t realize that vegans shouldn’t wear real fur, she also eats chicken because it’s “not real meat”. She wears dreads and will bring up vikings when you try to educate her about cultural appropriation. She also wears a saree as formal wear because her simdian yoga guru said “You can wear anything you want!” and she didn’t realize he meant she could wear any athletic wear for the yoga class.
She uses slurs on the regular and if you call her out on any of this? She will post a teary-eyed snapchat non-apology rant and if you don’t accept that as an apology she’ll claim that you’re just jealous of her.
(Sim and blurb by @mooodlet)
Tumblr media
5: Jacob Daramus
This is Jacob. How to describe him? An outdoor enthusiast, avid mountaineer, kombucha master, possibly a serial killer…
Well, many who have gone mountain climbing with him have never returned. He claims it’s just a coincidence, but locals think differently.
Who knows, maybe all the hardships of this challenge will loosen his lips, and he will confess his crimes.
He’s innocent until proven otherwise.
(Sim and blurb by @bakersimmer)
Tumblr media
6: Monica Rawls
Monica always loved animals. Growing up on a farm in the boonies meant she was always surrounded by them. Whenever she found a sick or injured animal she would bring it home and beg her parents to let her nurse it back to health. Despite her good intentions, however, few of her charges ever made a full recovery… and being a good farmer’s daughter, she always thought: “Why let them go to waste?” 🤔
Nowadays she self-publishes a cookbook on how to make that perfect “Memorial Meal” for your pet- after they’ve passed, of course. From Parakeet Parmesan to Rotisserie Horse Legs, she’s got you covered for when the only way to move on from the loss of your pet is to make them into a Grand Meal worth remembering.
(Sim by by TheTazzaful (Origin ID), blurb by me.)
Tumblr media
7: Kellissa Miller
Kelly Miller always thought she was too good for college. So, she dropped out, changed her name to Kellissa - with two L’s and two S’s, she’ll get mad if you misspell it - and went to pursue her true goal: being famous. She’s tried some acting, singing, playing instruments, but so far nothing. It’s not only the lack of talent: surprisingly, she’s quite a decent musician, but her personality… Oh, she’s rally nice and friendly. As long as you don’t stand in her spotlight. You DO NOT wanna stand in her spotlight. When she heard somebody was organizing a Last sim standing challenge, she had to sign in: becoming famous is worth dying for!
(Sim and blurb by @oswanily)
Tumblr media
8: Milo Rees
Milo Rees is the son of two extremely rich and wealthy sims who appears to be a successful artist. One problem, though… he doesn’t actually want to do any of the work needed to be an artist. He just wants to party and enjoy the finer things in life without having to work for them, so his parents forge artworks for him and sell them under his name. Honestly, his number one reason for signing up for this challenge is that it gets his parents off his back about actually working on his painting skills for a while.
(Sim and blurb by @blackfern)
Those are our contestants! Which begs the question… who do you think will be the Last Sim Standing?
Vote here!
(You won’t win anything if you guess correctly, I’m just super interested in who the fan favourite will be. :D You can vote as often as you like, no restrictions!)
The game starts soon… ⏱

Sim Simon is now live!
Simon, you know that I created a sim version of you in Sims 4. I've completed his lair to the best of my abilities thanks to your help and pulling information from a few of the first chapters of the book. I'm new to buiding serious things in sims so it was challenging, frustrating, and fun!
Tumblr media
My fellow gentle readers, you can now add a sim Simon in your world, if you havent already! Just search Alkenmayer in the gallery and the sim and the house lot should appear. If it does not, I believe you can search via creator name and mine is KiddSparrow14.
Tumblr media
Okay but here are some ground rules about this build.
1-- The packs
I did my best to just use the base game and stay away from items in my other packs. I ended up using items from other packs, if you do not have those packs it still should allow you to download it but the item will be replaced or deleted.
Tumblr media
2-- The Ramp and "garages".
Simon's lair has a ramp for his car (i'll talk about that next) So in sims, you cant actually build ramps so I used a half gabled roof to make it look like a ramp. This ramp is a bit touchy. If you are ever in build mode and modify the house physically, it may delete the ramp or it might float in the air. Your best bet would be to fix it or just play with out it. Oh yeah, the garage doors arent real. Its just wall paint panels with windows up top.
Tumblr media
3-- The car!
Yes, there is a car. I picked the closest one that matched a camero ss. No, the car isnt in a pack, its part of the base game. The car also isn't driveable. Oh, and you will have to add the car yourself. It wont save when you download it from the gallery.
It's easy to do and doesnt involve any mods. You will be using cheats.
1) open the cheat window
2) Enter these cheats in this order:
testingcheats true
bb.showhiddenobjects
showliveeditobjects
3) Use the search option and type in **DEBUG** you'll have to scroll until you come across the vehicles. There are more than one so I guess you can choose whichever you like. After that the car will never disappear when you save your game.
Tumblr media
4--Simon
Okay so Simon's traits are loner, bookworm, and glutton.
I chose glutton over foodie because gluttons get angry when they are hungry.
ah yes, most importantly. simon is a human sim. That's right, he is a human sim instead of an occult sim.
1) the only occult sims i can create is mages and aliens. I thought to make him an alien sim but... i didnt want him to have a disguise, I wanted him to exist simply as he is. (Hmm.. maybe i should have done alien but oh well its a game)
2) i cant create vampires and even if I could I wouldn't make sim simon a vampire. That would be an insult.
Whats the important of this? This means sim simon ages and can die. There are ways to work around this.
1) if you have the City Living pack you can make Simon immortal by using a cheat. I dont have this pack but it seems to work for others. Sims dont age or die from anything.
This cheat process is: testingchears true, then traits.equip_trait trait_isWeirdo make sure that you have selected the sim before typing that.
But what if you dont have City Living pack? There are in game ways to prevent them from aging and dying, some are rather tedious. I find the best way to keep my sim from aging is in the settings. Under game options for sims aging there are different options for playable sims and unplayable (world npcs). You can change your playable option to active household only so that way sim simon will exist in the world and not age until some accident happens and it dies.
what if you plan to play actively as the sim? You can turn the aging option off for your playable sims.
Tumblr media
I believe I have covered everything. If you download these from the gallery I hope you enjoy them and customize them with any additional packs you have yourself. Maybe even buy a business that he operates, or even a restaurant? Add Goody even if you have Pets & Cats. I hope you enjoy it and as always, happy simmimg!
Tumblr media
Oh yes, one more thing... Sim simon can't get pregnant or impregnate others.
and, thank you simon for giving me the quick layout sketch of your lair. I appreciate it very much ❤❤
Tumblr media
random note: Sim simon also got invited to a party by his coworker, went, and was stressed that there was too many people there but there was plenty of food so he was happy.
the-imparfait.
