Where in the World is Cardmere Sandiego ?
As we navigate the lore of Rose & Thorn, it’s just as important to navigate the city of Cardmere!
(Everyone knows we’re first judged on where we come from.)
From the Rags to Riches (then back to Rags... then back to almost Riches) story of Folkport to the austere academia of The University, every district has its role.
Will you spend your time working in the industrial dredge of The Sink, or in the art scene of Eastover? Are you made mettled by metropolitan Mission Park or the prestigious Penrose? Do you rest your head in a crowded rookery of Murrayside, or a new Clovered Oaks development?
This world is what we make it... so let’s make it together.

Mine & Refine
In 738, Buckets Templeton struck gold on the banks of the Elmsoll Beck. Thus began the great Folkport Gold Rush. Citizens and new arrivals alike hit riches like they’d never known before... for all of nine years. Then the gold dried up, the refinery was shuttered, and the community of Folkport suffered greatly until salvation was found in merging with their Cardmerian neighbors.
These days, the Refinery has been repurposed into an ARCHCO Plethora Factory. The mining is for natural aether instead of gold.
...but is history about to repeat itself?

The Cardmerian Accords incorporated the mundane community of Folkport into the aetherial city of Cardmere.
The following years have faced a blending of magical and non-magical cultures, competitions between elite traditionalists and their new-money counterparts, and a begrudging unity to both banks of the Elmsoll Beck.
Which side of the river are you from?
