foisame: entwines his hand in aesop's & brings their hands up to his chest. "... sometimes, i think it would be nice to stay here forever," the candlelight illuminates his black & white face, & even the shattered pattern of cracks cannot distract from the subtle yet sincere smile that comes to joseph's lips ― though he isn't looking directly at the embalmer.

"though, i imagine you don't share the sentiment. i am trying to learn to accept that."

❝ it isn't a bad sentiment. ❞ head tips ever so slightly to the side, cool gaze flitting between their joined hands &. joseph's face. while aesop's artistic vision may not align with the rest of the world, when he looks upon the monochromatic planes of his lover's face, he understands with perfect clarity what every famous painter meant by finding their muse. the hand not entwined with joseph's lifts, turns his head ever so slightly, and traces just along a crack along his face. like a shattered doll, aesop thinks, with nothing short of fondness. joseph almost makes aesop believe in eternity, if only so he can spend the rest of it in moments like these; just them and the candlelight.

he will never admit it out loud, but he wishes that this could last forever. it terrifies him to think it; there will always be an inevitable end, in one way or another, no matter what joseph has done to stall such a thing for himself. for aesop, he knows he will be put to rest in the same box he summons. he's made his peace with that; he has made his peace with the knowledge he may live a long &. relatively happy life.

he has not made peace with the notion that, one day, he will have to say goodbye to joseph. briefly, his gaze is cast down before he finds heart to raise it once again.

refusing to drown beneath his own thoughts, aesop smiles. his hand pulls away from his lover's face so he may tug his mask off, and without a moment's hesitation, he leans forward to gently press their lips together. both hands come to cup joseph's cheeks, and when he parts from the kiss, his smile returns, a soft mirror of the one that joseph offered him.

❝ i... can't give you forever, joseph, ❞ he says, and a pain he hasn't felt in some time twists in his heart. ❝ but i can give you right now. and i can give you every moment after it. does that suffice? ❞

[ Sticky situations ; accepting! ]

“Wh-- Wh-- What is wrong?” Claude looks at his older brother with pure and genuine distress not only visible on his face but also the rest of his body language and, most noticeably, in his voice. The ghost is shaking-- his voice, his body, his everything. “I--!!! I--!!!” Pale see-through hands fly into equally see-through hair and fingers run through it and pull on it as he tries to make sense of this whole situation, making his already always messy hair look even messier. (The only reason his hair ever looked even slightly presentable when he was alive was because the servants and his parents kept nagging him.) 

“I-- I’ve never believed in ghosts--!! None of this makes any sense! Absolutely none of this! And yet--!” One hand lets go of his hair as he waves the whole arm through the wall. “Look! I can phase through things! I’m not supposed to be able to do that?!”

Because of his very genuine and extreme distress, the lights in the room start to flicker on and off-- but only for a couple of seconds as it ends up startling him. He floats through the room in circles, taking deep breaths to calm himself down, before going to hover in front of Joseph. “How-- How is this possible? How am I here?”

Oh, how he hopes that -maybe, just maybe- his older brother can provide some sort of comfort or support.

“Wh-- Why am I here? Aren’t-- Aren’t I supposed to be dead. . . ?”

“When I decided to sign up to give one of these contests a try, I didn’t expect that someone so talented and famous would be participating as well. I imagined that would take a contest or two-- You must have a very busy schedule, after all.” Peter hums, his gaze moving towards Musharna next to him and giving her a gentle pet. Well, he did hope Joseph would be there, though. He’s not exactly interested in being a coordinator. 

What he’s more interested in are the rumors surrounding the man.

So he hopes to befriend him in some way and figure out what’s going on with him and if he can use it. Of course, he intends to play this very carefully and show no signs of his intentions.

drunk girl in the bathroom hot.     you're both wasted, she just somehow does it so much better. you're crying, about something your stupid ex did or said. and suddenly she appears, looking like an angel aside from the slight sway in her step. she's helping you our of your slump on the floor when you grow pale and catastrophy strikes. you're the most disgusting you've ever been, and still, this stranger holds your hair and rubs soothing circles in your back. gives you a breath mint and sits you back against the wall, asking what happened. you tell her, and her glittery, perfectly made face turns sour. with her heels in hand, she loops your arm around her shoulders so she can help you walk to an uber she called for you. your ex says something snarky to you in passing on the way out, and for her it's the final straw. she whirls around, fire in her eyes and a set in her brow and she slaps him hard across the face. calls him a jerk or a dick or something like that, you can't remember, you were busy smiling at the stunned look on his face as she drags you both outside. before you get home, she gives you a hug and kind words in a bubbling voice and you're thankful for her. thankful there are people out there who look out for people like you, who stand up for people even when they might have trouble standing themselves.

“Eh? What are you talking about? I know exactly where I’m going, dear brother!” Claude stops with walking, turning to look at his brother as he rests his hands on his waist. He lets out a chuckle. Oh, this guy definitely has no clue. But he’s doing his best! And he’ll end up exactly where he needs to be eventually, right? There’s no way he’ll be walking in circles forever!
