@zolanort my Zelda cosplays! I am by no means professional, but I certainly have fun with it :) SS Zelda's apron thingy has pockets on the reverse, and the sailcloth doesn't fit super well but it stays and it's also insulated like a quilt.

(EOW Zelda seems so so easy, do you know how many long white dresses I can find at a thrift store around here? XD)

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words on my Cal Kestis cosplay!!! It was a blast to wear around the con, and I can't wait to wear it again!

My mom graciously was the one who made my cosplay, and she did an amazing job!!! She is a very talented seamstress, and I def need to learn how to sew from her haha BD-1 I got from Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland, and my lightsaber I got from Disneyland as well.

#cosplay shenanigans #kos mos #kos-mos #xenosaga #look they're not the most flattering photos #but this is my first try on since getting the base bodysuit/skirt/sleeves done and wearable minus deco and...#that's KOS-MOS!!!!!#tragically i think I'm going to have to redo the wig cuz it's too fluffy and voluminous #and like I could make it less That but it'll probably still catch on all the stuff in the back of the costume #and if I'm gonna redo it anyway I might as well do the wire+tape+glue hair thing and really nail the split hair design #so at least it'll be fun to try out the newer hard cap wig stuff #fun in quotes #more like gratifying but gross on my hands eaugh I hate wig fibers lol #the only stuff left on the bodysuit is gluing down pieces and reinforcing the halter straps #cuz the foam already tore a little bit perhaps unsurprisingly #that's okay it's an easy fix #and then it's working on the sleeves/shirt thing and making the stockings and finishing the shoes and skirt #and all that'll be really left is making the gloves......the GLOVES

Pretty sure I said I would start taping together my sewing pattern like two weeks ago. But I was doing other stuff.

Frankly I don't think I have enough floor space for the full thing so I'm going to need to just cut out parts as soon as they're fully taped

#ramblings of a bystander #a bystander makes cosplay #i didn't yet start on taping this together because #a) my turkey feathers arrived so i trimmed the quills off for all of those #b) then i shaped the ends of all of them so theyre a bit pointier #c) i was doing research and ordered my fabric #d) i was doing research and squinting at a lot of colour comparison charts. and ordered a wig (and some extra wefts)#e) i was trimming off two edges if each sewing pattern paper so they'll be MUCH easier to line up when i tape then together #i also want to do some checking of stuff and order foam for my props #but i think i just want to focus on taping this together for today #I'll also need to buy more stuff for the coat but cut out this pattern first #basically I'm trying to frontload costs for a few different elements because then if #eg. i realise i can't progress something on the coat until i get something but i won't get my hands on it for a few days #i can then spend those couple of days progressing on eg. doung the wig instead if sitting around twiddling my thumbs #current element priorities are coat and wig and gun prop.#will also need to do the pants and arm/gloves situation. and #*deep deep sigh* looking into how to do makeup #and one or two other bits and bobs. when i get to it.

This was the costume for the gig, I was super pleased with how it came out. A good friend took the pictures and did amazing considering all he had was his iPhone- Though he was sneaky to catch me taking a quick drink like that!!!!

I'd never made my own costume or anything like this before, so I definitely threw myself in at the deep end, but it was a great experience, and I will definitely be doing it again next year 😌

Don't think I ever showed her off - my first cosplay (and bigger sewing project in general) since... 2018 or 2019, I honestly don't remember. Still need to make some changes and fix some things up, but she's wearable!

I am learning how to make props with EVA foam! I am going to use these newfound skills for evil once I’m confident enough! :D

#I’m making paracelsus guilty gear 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 he’s so SILLY!!! I wanna do an aba cosplay sooo bad #I’m going to a con in literally 2 weeks and I believe in my ability to go from 0 knowledge to successful prop in that time #getting boring stuff like a respirator (for foam dust when I use dremel) and a good cutting mat are the actual main issues #there’s no way I’m gonna be able to get a wig like aba’s hair in 2 weeks though so I’m just gonna like #idk… dye my actual hair teal and deal with the fact that it’s like 1/10 the length of her hair. I can be vaguely masc aba it’s fiiine #no one at the con is gonna question who I’m meant to be if my arm candy for the day is a 7 foot tall key

my most hamlet kinnie fact is that i totally get why david bowie made out with a skull on stage. i will do that to when i do a drag routine to cracked actor. i would probably do that for the joke anyways if any of my skulls had a jaw
