«On March 16, 2003, Milan is once again the theater of a political murder: Dax, a young anti-fascist comrade grown up in the Milanese suburbs who was involved in the squatter scene of the neighborhood called Ticinese, was stabbed to death by three right-wing extremists. A few hours later, the comrades who arrived at the ER where he had been taken were clobbered by the police. That night is remembered as the Milan’s Notte Nera and it marked a sign in the lives of an entire generation of young comrades, engraving in their personal and political stories the urgency of remembrance. Since then, the Dax affair has become a collective heritage, in Italy and Europe: it is a living memory that, year after year, has seen the streets of Milan filled with those who want to keep such memory alive. And all this continues to contaminate the most recent struggles.»

      Exhaustion from France, taking influences from both sides of the Atlantic deliver an unforgiving hardcore assault. With ‘Surrounded By The Depths’ containing 12 tracks which weaver through many facets of hardcore bring medley of Scandinavian Kang punk, with the ferocity of Japanese hardcore, with a crushing sound similar to that of World Burns To Death and Deathraid. Simply put the Caen outfit are ones to watch this year as ‘Surrounded By The Depths’is out on Distro-y Records and Destuctue Records

  Disfear’s Misanthropic Generation LP has been repressed by La Familia Records, Those not familiar with Disfear should be ashamed of themselves – you probably have been hiding under a rock for more than 25 years. Swedish hardcore in its purest form, “Misanthropic Generation” is a maturation, modernization and perfection of Discharge’s music from back in the ’80s. With a blazing pace, Entombed-ish guitar/bass riffing meeting the banshee vocalism of Tomas, supported by wickedly groovy Motorhead-style drumming – masturbation for the mind, one might call it. There´s a small amount of the yellow/black marbled vinyl availble.

Apparently these songs were recorded just a few days after the ripping gig I caught in Stockholm back in February. These dudes move as fast as their tunes. The digital version is soon available via Bandcamp, the physical version available on their impending Euro tour (the first date of which is in Oslo, which I will miss, which SUCKS).
