How would Nuka World react to John Wick as SS? (Colter killed his dog and is here to fuck shit up)
Tumblr media
COLTER
The Overboss is on the verge of shitting his own pants seeing this steaming ball of pure rage deduced to one person. They werenā€™t in the arena to kill him and take over, nor were they here to rid the world of filthy raiders. Sole had one motive and one motive only ā€” revenge.
MASON
ā€œYou never kill a manā€™s dog. Number one rule.ā€ Mason shakes his head, knowing the Overboss was done for.
NISHA
She was bored with the scene before her. A revenge ploy was overplayed in her mind. The only thing that will interest her in this battle is the blood spill, especially that of Colterā€™s. He was a dead man for sure and that thought alone excited her.
MAGS & WILLIAM BLACK
ā€œSee the drive in that person. Thatā€™s our next Overboss.ā€ Mags chuckles to herself, speaking to her brother.
William shakes his head and laughs along with her. They were both tired of Colter, so no matter the drive of this person in the arena, the were glad for it. ā€œHeard it was over their mutt. Can you believe that?ā€
GAGE
Though a bit annoyed at first that he didnā€™t have time to discuss his well-thought out plan with the newcomer to overthrow Colter; once seeing the survivor he could tell they didnā€™t need his assistance. He instead decided to sit back and enjoy the show of a person seeking vengeance for their sweet puppy and Colter facing their well-deserved wrath.

Hello! May I request fallout 4 companions (Nick especially) with Sole who shares the bare minimum of information about themselves? Not because Sole doesnā€™t trust them, they really enjoy theirs companions company. Perhaps they busy themselves so they donā€™t have to think about all the little and big things they miss. (I bet Codsworth would find pristine things that Sole would miss (like a favorite movie, vinyl, or comic?))
Sorry if its not something youā€™re interested in doing right now. The ask kinda came out as a ramble, Iā€™m lacking sleep haha. Thanks again for considering my request!
怋Honestly one of my favorite kinds of characters.
Tumblr media
怐Cait怑 She doesn't appreciate it. Her contract was traded to some random weirdo who barely says anything. It took three days before the topic of your name came up. And two weeks to know what you were looking for, who. But in return you don't ask what she does on her own time or what she's done. It feels like you don't mind rather than you don't care and that makes her feel seen. It stays between you unsaid in her eyes.
ā™”If romanced she doesn't push for any information. You'll tell her if it's important. People think it's weird the two of you to not share about yourselves like normal people but you're happy, that's all that matters.
怐Codsworth怑 It's just like it was before. He, unlike the others, already knows you. He knows you very well. Not only did you do an intake for daily preferences but he also served you for a few years. While you're out and about you'll do something or say something that sounds like no information to others or out of context and he'll answer, "Just as I was thinking as well." While you camp with some of the other companions he does chores the way you like without needing to ask, making comment on recent events, which makes them jealous for sure. He digs up things from the house he preserved or found and fixes them up brand new before presenting it to you. Songs you liked or wanted to hear. Movies and shows and comics. Clothes pressed for you and the furniture is redone the way it used to be. He knows you and wants to keep it that way.
怐Curie怑 Low-key doesn't care. She has one thing on her mind and that's her own goal to better medicine. Finding things to do that is all she needs of you. When she goes to be a synth her feelings overwhelm her and you guide her through that. She's never ever asked about you. She'll tell you about what she's feeling but never thinks to ask what you feel. In her defense, is doesn't understand the nuance of social interactions. And to her credit, it works for the both of you.
ā™”If she's romanced she realizes she wants to know what you feel and if it's the same as her. She's mostly interested in what you feel now rather than what your opinion is in the past or isn't currently relevant.
怐Danse怑 Right away he doesn't care for it. A mercenary who talks very little can be dangerous. But you followed orders well and are a damn good shot. The way he asks is more like demanding. It was all for a vetting process but still rude. After the intake he didn't care about your lack of openness. Didn't matter to him personally. After BB he suddenly regrets not knowing you. He was so rude and dismissed you as another faceless soldier and you saved him, from the Brotherhood and himself. Now he wants to know you.
ā™”If romanced he makes effort to know you, like really know you. For a long time he refused individuality so his own sense of self is not great. But you know yourself and make no attempt to hide it. You are so sure of yourself you don't need to explain. That's one of the things he loves about you.
怐Deacon怑 He thinks you're like him, that you want to hide in plain sight. As much as he gives that to you he's nosy as fuck and takes every chance to learn about you, mostly from afar. It doesn't take any time at all for him to realize you'll just tell him. Most of them are one word answers. It takes him even less time after that to realize you'll comment on things from before the war especially.
ā™”If romanced he goes out of his way to show you stuff. Old posters and toys. If you follow my headcanon that he's pre-war, he makes old references and generally adds comments on things to bait your answers.
怐Hancock怑 He thinks it's pretty cool. "Oh, tall, dark, and handsome/beautiful." He does play twenty questions with you 24/7 and is very happy with your half-answers because an answer is still an answer. Plus he knows at least two other people like you. He is the one who figures out that you just don't have the time or think about talking about yourself rather than purposely keeping secrets the fastest. He knows people so he knows better.
ā™”If romanced he plays with it. You want a kiss? Tell him what's your favorite color. He'll get on his knees if you tell him what you like about your new home. But honestly he'll do it anyways. All he needs to know is that you want him like he wants you.
怐MacCready怑 He was more concerned about you putting a bullet in his head while his back was turned. Everyone in the Commonwealth was looking out for number one. So imagine his surprise when you were looking out for your number one and it wasn't you. Not only were you looking for your son but you stopped to help every person who asked for help. Your actions spoke to him in a way your words, he figured, couldn't. You didn't need to help him but you did. You didn't take the caps back. And you killed the gunners the second they turned their guns on him even when they said their beef wasn't with you. It was what you did, not what you told him.
ā™”If romanced he will ask things. Basic ones are like, "How was your day?" Normal questions that are the peak of domestic life. Then the more personal things. Some sound silly, "What's your favorite color?" But most build off of a quick thing you said in passing, "Wait, you've been to California? What was it like?" He trusts you'll tell him the truth.
怐Nick怑 As a private detective this simply won't do. He gets it at first, you just need him to find your son, it's business. However, you want him to stay with you after that. It confuses him because you made no indication you like him in the slightest way. He's the second fastest to realize you're not keeping to yourself on purpose. As one of the only ones who are pre-war he's able to get things the others can't. He'll talk about things and give his options and bait you into answering it. That was a common way to get people to talk back then when you were trying to be polite and keep up the conversation, even if the conversation stays a bit thin.
ā™”If he's romanced he makes fun of the fact you forget to say things about yourself. Don't get it wrong, he makes it clear you don't need to share. He's just poking fun.
怐Piper怑 This simply won't do. She asks as many question as they come up but she gets depressing short answers. You either give one word answers or say you're not really in the mood, on some occasions you admit you don't know, you never thought about it. It takes a long time for her to stop and that's only because the questions start getting old. And you still feel like a mystery even though you've told her everything.
ā™”If she's romanced she realizes how much you've told her and pushes it. What is your type? How do your lips feel? Why do you look so good? It becomes playful and light, never serious.
怐Preston怑 In the beginning he didn't realize he didn't know much about you. He took your help selfishly to get him and his people back on stable ground but you told him you were happy to help. So he takes time to learn about you and give you everything he could possibly help you with. In hopes you would share by yourself he gives things to you without any prompt. It doesn't really work most of the time.
ā™”If romanced he asks things with hearts in his eyes. He is so lovesick he takes all of your half-answers and files it away in his mind. It hardly matters at that point.
怐X6怑 It wasn't his mission so he didn't care. You owed him no explanation or justification. Doesn't mean he doesn't question you. He asks why you helped someone, why you stopped for a distraction. And of course you give short answers like, "They needed help." or "I wanted to." Later, after the Institute is gone, he sees how you carry yourself and tries to copy it. Obviously he can't so you help him too. You showed him he can figure himself out by himself and he didn't need you. So he held the same opinion; he doesn't need to know you like that.
ā™”If romanced he's still comfortable with you keeping things to yourself. It's only after months of being together do you realize he's never asked you a personal question, that you've never shared anything that personal. When you bring that to him he tells you that hardly matters. But seeing you make the effort after that gives him a feeling he can't describe. It's a good feeling he thinks.

if ur still taking requests, could you do r!companions reacting to when sole introduces them (maybe to like a settler or something) as their husband/wife for the first time :0?
Romanced! FO4 Companions React to Sole Referring to Them as Husband/Wife for the First Time
This is so precious! It makes me wonder what weddings in the wasteland are like šŸ¤”
Anyways, let me know if you wanna see anyone else for this! :)
(also, sorry for being gone for a thousand years, love you guys for sticking around <3)
I hope you love it!Ā
Cait:
Not much had changed after they'd said their vows.
It was a strange practice in this sort of reality, anyhow. Who in their right mind would be off fiddling with the thought of marriage when most folks were struggling on scraped hands and knees just to get by?
Sole, apparently.
Wouldn't be the first time they'd concerned themselves with something so unimportant and hairbrained in their new reality. Damn pre-war mentality.
But she'd humored them. They didn't do a whole ceremony, didn't have a priest or a cake, or even a dress. No, it was just each other and a few words, a couple of promises that she would never admit had... well, had choked her up, somewhat.
Sole's always been too sentimental for they're own good. And for my own good too, apparently.
Like she'd thought before the 'ceremony,' though, nothin' was all that different after the fact. Traveling together, watching each other's backs, sleepin' at Sole's place on the same shoddy mattress...
She didn't mind that, though. Nothinā€™ had to change for Cait to know that she was truly happy for the first time that she could remember.
What had shaken her, though, was when they'd met a couple settlers that had recently moved to Sanctuary when they stopped by for a visit. That, too, had been normal. At first.
Preston gave them his usual too-long to-do list, Codsworth told them he'd been keeping the hubflowers in the front yard nice and tidy, Sturges showed off the new paint-job on the power armor Sole had gifted him a while back. When they ran into those new folks, though, when that word 'wife' left her lover's lips, Cait had physically reeled back like she was dodging a blow.
Sole's look after the interaction was full of concern, of uncertainty. It made Cait's chest ache.
"Jus' unused to it, is all." She'd told them as reassuringly as she could manage, her fingers moving over Sole's shoulders to lace together at the base of their neck. "It'll come with time, love."
"Good," They said, their huff of relief only slightly exaggerated. "But if it doesn't, I'm warning you now, I might just have to marry you again."
Cait chuckled at that.
"And next time, I'm not letting you forgo the ceremony."
"No!" Cait groaned playfully.
"Nor the guests, or the dress, and those sappy vows will be read for everyone to hear--"
"Enough, you little shite. Go on, then. Call me wife at the end of ev'ry sentence, jus' don't make me go through all that."
Sole giggled in return, their own hands finding purchase at Cait's hips and pulling her close.
"Though..." The redhead continued, with a mischievous glint in her bright eyes. "I, myself, wouldn't mind a second honeymoon."
Curie:
"Aw, mon cheri! Let me try, let me do it, too!"
Sole's grin was contagious as they motioned for their adorable wife to continue with herā€¦ well, unnecessary, (but Sole would never tell her that) introduction.
"Zhis is mon mari/Ć©pouse. We are just married, you see?"
The Diamond city bar-goer nodded politely to them, giving Sole an amused look that wasn't caught by the over-excited synth.
"Congratulations, you two look very happy."
Curie squeezed her hand all the tighter around Sole's, and she looked simply fit to burst with joy at the strangerā€™s words.
"We are. 'Appier zhan I could've dreamed." Her eyes sparkled as she looked fondly to her Sole, ā€œWe are so lucky to ā€˜ave found each other.ā€Ā
ā€œItā€™s trueā€¦ā€ Sole echoed, the bargoer all but vanishing from the coupleā€™s attention as they became lost in each other again.Ā
ā€œMaybe I should just leave you two be, for now. Seems like youā€™re still in that honeymoon phase, to me.ā€Ā
ā€œThat's, ahā€¦ā€ Soleā€™s words dissolved into a chuckle, as Curie turned away with a blush. ā€œThatā€™s also probably true. It was lovely meeting you, though!ā€Ā
Their new acquaintance waved a hand as he headed towards the bar once more, shaking his head with a grin as he noticed the way the pair went right back to existing in their own, sweet world. It was refreshing, he thought, to see two people so happy, so in love, in a world like this one.Ā
Danse:
Heā€™d tried to introduce himself, at the start, to these friends of Soleā€™s, butā€¦ Heā€™d slipped up, as he often does.Ā
Danse. My name is Danse. Nothing precedes that, Iā€™mā€¦ not a Paladin anymore.Ā
Heā€™d never been without a title before, not since he joined the Brotherhood all those years ago, and his name still felt so naked without it, like it was missing something so integral. As usual, however, Sole had saved him. Theyā€™d noticed, even before he did, that he was about to err, and thankfully cut him off beforehand, but thenā€¦Ā
Heā€™d almost forgotten. He didnā€™t know how he could forget. The day he and Sole vowed to spend the remainder of their lives together had been one of the best of his life, but their past weeks were filled with the rest of the days upon that listā€¦ They hadnā€™t been away from each otherā€™s sides, hadnā€™t really met anyone new, so it was almost uncanny when he heard the wordā€“ the title leave their lips.Ā
Iā€™ve never been without a titleā€¦
Unwittingly, Danse found himself puffing up at the sound of it, much like he had when he was first called ā€˜Paladinā€™. He grinned and stood straight and proud, nodding decisively at the sound of the word husband leaving his partnerā€™s lips. His spouseā€™s lips.Ā
Danse had never planned for an outcome like this, never thought it would be possible to dedicate the time, energy, emotional attention and knowhow he needed to be involved in a lifelong, committed relationship, but then again, Sole had made many things possible that heā€™d never known would be in store for him. He couldnā€™t imagine his life any other way now, even with the severe deviation from his original plan for himself, and though, at first, he felt like the entire situation was drastically more than unideal, he didnā€™t know how he ever managed to consider himself truly happy without Sole by his side. They filled the immense chasm of hurt that was drilled through him the day he lost his identity, the day he was no longer a part of the cause that heā€™d dedicated his everything to, but if they were to be taken from him? Gone from his life for one reason or another? He knew not even the Brotherhood could fill the crippling hole they would leave in their wake.
This new title, the new responsibility to be there for his counterpart, through thick and thin, sickness, health, all that the wasteland would throw at them, and everything in between, as far as Danse was concerned, it was the most worthwhile endeavor heā€™d ever taken on, and he knew he would do everything in his power to never let them down. No matter what it took, heā€™d strive to be worthy of that title bestowed upon him by the one he loves and respects more than any other.
Deacon:
Deacon didnā€™t think heā€™d ever be back here againā€¦ Not that he wasnā€™t absolutely thrilled to be Soleā€™s partner, their spouse, butā€¦ did he really deserve that title? He sure as hell didnā€™t the first time, and now, though heā€™s definitely less of a bigot, he still canā€™t wrap his head around the idea of Sole being happy with him, wanting him. As their husband.Ā
Shitā€¦Ā
Heā€™d have to say something at some point, have to respond, have to smile and nod and shake hands and allow himself to be introduced like this...
Yikes.Ā
It was a familiar feeling, but in a horrible, anxiety-inducing sort of way. He didnā€™t want anything more than he wanted to be Soleā€™s husband, heā€™d been the one to propose after all, but introducing him like this? Was that safe? Was it necessary?Ā
The spy bit his lip, his body visibly stiffening up at the words leaving Soleā€™s lips, but the worst part? The worst part was that jump in his gut at the sound of it. At first he thought it was the discomfort, with a healthy sprinkling of fear and just a pinch of panic, but it wasnā€™t the cold shock that those emotions tended to elicit, no, this was sort ofā€¦ warm? An excited sort of anxiousness, an enthusiastic leap within himself, not the uncomfortable churn heā€™d been expecting.Ā
Maybe I can be used to this again. Like the first time.
Despite himself, despite the momentary thousand-yard stare accompanied by a half-open mouth, Deacon recovered rather rapidly, and even found himself smiling. His eyes crinkled up beneath his iconic shades and he turned to look over to his love, his spouse, and his teeth broke through the threshold of his lips into a broad grin.Ā
ā€œWhew, could get used to that.ā€ He whispered with a wink and Sole had to bite their lips to keep from smiling too big.Ā
Goddamn, I donā€™t deserve them.
ā€œWell, you heard the boss. Soleā€™s husband. Yeahā€¦ Pleased to meet and shake.ā€Ā
But shitā€¦ I really could get used to this again. That much is true.Ā
Hancock:
ā€œFuck, sunshine, say it again for me, will ya?ā€Ā
Hancock immediately turned to face them at the sound of it, their hand in his proving not to be nearly enough contact to sate his need for his new spouse. He separated their fingers as that glorious title of his left their lips once more, as their mischievous eyes met his, opting to instead wrap both of his wiry arms around them, pulling his partner close while completely disregarding the traveling merchant in front of them. Theyā€™d get back to their purchase in a moment, but firstā€¦ Hancock leaned forward, pressing his lips to his partnerā€™s with a fervor that rivaled that of their kiss upon the altar.Ā
How can anyone expect me to hold back when theyā€™re lookinā€™ at me like that? When they call me their ā€˜husband.ā€™Ā
The ghoul felt himself shudder, a grin spreading from his lips, infecting theirs in turn as he finally managed to pull away.Ā
ā€œMmm, yeah, damn straight.ā€Ā
Who wouldā€™ve ever thought?Ā
The esteemed bachelor, infamous junkie, proclaimer of every kinda freedom, and the Mayor of the city of sin and mirthā€¦ Married. And he couldnā€™t be more proud of it, more overjoyed at the prospect of spending his life with the one he loves, dedicating himself to one person. Sure, he never thought heā€™d see the day. But that didnā€™t change a damn thing.Ā
ā€œYeah, Soleā€™s husband speaking here. Pleased to make your acquaintance.ā€
MacCready:
Maybe he should feel guilty, maybe the sound should make him sad, should douse him in memories of his past, in a future that heā€™d hoped for, but never came to be. A future with another person, another possibility for his lifeā€¦ But when Sole called him their husband for the first time, in front of all these people at the bar, still dressed in their glorious, dare he say sexy, wedding clothesā€¦ God, the ex-merc couldnā€™t quit grinning.Ā
It feltā€¦ strange, sure, to be called husband again, but damn, it felt good, too. It was a reminder that he still could be happy, it was proof that there are second chances, even in a world as cruel as this one. Even for both of them, who came from broken homes, from pasts filled with loss and hardship, from such different upbringings, there was still hope.Ā
And so, he smiled. And he let himself smile.Ā
Heā€™d dealt with the guilt already, since the moment he felt affection for his partner rising to the surface. From that first awkward kiss, their strangely sad first time together, to his first terrifying declaration of his love, heā€™d felt that guilt simmering under the surface, waiting to boil over and burn him from the inside out, make him hurt all over again, make moving on impossible, butā€¦ Even though it had always been there, itā€™s grownā€¦ weaker. Soleā€™s reciprocation, their affirmation, their shared feelings of wrongfulness that linger behind every touch, every feeling of fondness, of loveā€¦ The two of them were two sides of the same damn coin, broken pieces that, by some miracle, could fit together to make each other whole.Ā
That, and he knew what Lucy and Nate/Nora would want. Their late spouses loved them both, and they would want them both to be happy now, not wallow away their days alone in grief and guilt.Ā
And now, MacCready could smile. And damn, did he do so. It was embarrassingly toothy, it scrunched his eyes and brought tears to them. Heā€™d cried when he saw them at the wedding, and his eyes have hardly been dry since the ceremony earlier that day, and even as the pair collected their drinks from the bar top, he couldnā€™t keep his eyes off his partner. His spouse.Ā
It was strange to feel like this again, to be back in this situation, back to this point in life, just with another person, but if it was with Sole, MacCready could truly be happy again, if it was with themā€¦ he didnā€™t want to be anywhere else.
Nick:
It was so difficult to look away, to stop the smile from spreading too far across his synthetic lips, to pull his hand away from Soleā€™s in order to greet this stranger, to act as though it were normal for them to refer to him in that way. It shouldnā€™t be strange, with how long theyā€™ve been together, how long theyā€™ve been itching to use those titles for one another, but it still sent a shock through him. The warmness spread through his chest in such a way he didnā€™t know was even possible. Nothing could have ruined the moment that that word left his incredible partnerā€™s lips, not even the way the strangerā€™s eyes were widened, their mouth drawn to a thin line in surprise and just a hint of revulsion. Nick couldnā€™t care less.Ā
Keeping his good hand firmly clasped with Soleā€™s, he extended his skeletal one out for them to consider, finally forcing himself to look away from Soleā€™s sweet, glowing expression to meet the otherā€™s judgemental gaze. If heā€™d cared even in the slightest, he mightā€™ve snorted and made some remark, but this didnā€™t matter at all. The approval of some schmuck in the wilds of the Commonwealth wasnā€™t even remotely something Nick desired, and there was no way in hell heā€™d let something like this ruin even a fraction of his elation at finally becoming Soleā€™s husband.Ā
ā€œGood to meet ya.ā€ He said with an insultingly broad grin as their eyes locked to his metal hand, their own making no move to embrace his in the customary greeting.
ā€œUsually itā€™s polite," Nick began, with just a hint of salt, "When someone extends a hand, to shake it.ā€
That seemed to pull the stranger from their thoughts, and tentatively, they reached out and gave a small shake before quickly pulling away.Ā
ā€œThere we go, thatā€™s it.ā€ Nick let his skeletal hand fall back to his side and felt Sole give his other a tight squeeze in comfort. ā€œAnd just in case you didnā€™t catch it, itā€™s Nick. Valentine. Detective extraordinaire, and Soleā€™s husband.ā€Ā
A sweet sound met his ears as Sole chuckled beside him, their grin scrunching their eyes as they gave their husband that look, the one that said it all, the one heā€™d never grow tired of seeing. The amusement at his words, and that genuine affection for him behind it all, god, itā€™s what Nick lived for.
Piper:
ā€œAw, Blue! It sounds so good when you say it!ā€ The reporterā€™s eyes lit up as Sole introduced her to the bartender, and her hand squeezed their arm all the tighter. Sheā€™s been waiting, what seems like forever, to hear those words leave her partnerā€™s lips. Now, it was even better than sheā€™d imagined. She gazed lovingly in Soleā€™s direction, as they patiently waited for her to turn her attention to the man across the counter.
ā€œRight! Hi, yes, yeah. Iā€™m their wife. Nice to meet you.ā€ She grinned at the man as a look of good-humored exasperation passed over his features. At his responseā€™s lack of enthusiasm, Piper leaned forward, nearly separating her arm from Soleā€™s, and brought her free hand to the side of her mouth, whispering to him nearly loud enough for the entire room to hear.
ā€œWe just got married.ā€
ā€œI couldnā€™t have guessed.ā€ He said, deadpan, with the slightest indication of a grin crinkling his eyes.Ā
ā€œHereā€™s your key, you two. Enjoy.ā€Ā
Sole thanked the man as Piper enthusiastically hauled them towards the stairs up to their rented room. They followed along behind the giggling reporter, their grin rivaling her own as the pair stumbled up the wooden steps excitedly. With Piper, it certainly was bound to be an eventful honeymoon. But Sole already knew that when they married her, and who were they kidding? They wouldn't have it any other way.
Preston:
Preston just cannot quit staring. He hardly even hears what the other minutemen are saying to him and his new spouse, still their General and Lieutenant. It was rather uncharacteristic of him to be paying so little attention, but how can he help it? It was their wedding day, and Sole looked more incredible than heā€™d ever seen them, which was saying a whole hell of a lot for his near-perfect partner; not to mention the way theyā€™d practically ordered him to refrain from thinking of work for the whole day.Ā
Heā€™d thought it would be harder to do so, his overzealous work ethic being the brunt of many a joke amongst the other minutemen and Soleā€™s many friends, and yetā€¦ Today, Preston finds it much easier than ever before to focus on nothing but them.Ā
Sole. In all their perfect glory, standing by his side, fingers locked between his, a persistent and glorious grin spread across their lips as they greeted the many guests that attended the ceremony.Ā
As an unfamiliar couple approached the pair, Preston still remained utterly entranced by his love, their polite voice, the way the soft glow of the slowly setting sun highlighted every perfect feature, the feel of their hand in his, their shoulder pressing comfortingly against his own.Ā
When their introduction leaves Sole's lips, heā€™s pulled back to reality.Ā
ā€˜My husband,ā€™ theyā€™d said. Thatā€™sā€¦ Thatā€™s me.Ā
Preston blinked as his cheeks swelled from the pressure of his humongous grin.Ā
I will never get tired of that. He decided in less than an instant. In fact, as the night goes on, into the next few weeks of their early marriage, and all the years after, he tries to refer to them by their own spously title as often as is appropriate, and glows with pride and appreciation each time they do the same.
X6-88:
It wasn't proper, but for once in the courser's life, he couldn't be bothered to care.
Sole was his Director, and if anyone in the Institute took issue with their word, with their choices when it came to their own personal life, they could bring it up to him. He'd love to see how that plays out.
For now though, X6 allowed himself the unusual pleasure of being unbothered by it. Dr. Ayo could look as appalled as he wanted, Dr. Volkert could keep blushing with barely-checked rage up to his ear tips, and the rest of X6ā€™s fellow coursers could continue with their stony glares.
Though he wouldn't admit it, X6 actually withheld a crooked grin at the way some of the synths looked at him with such awe. He felt their glares, heard their whispers, saw the ways their fists clenched, but it was peripheral at best. Sole took center stage of his attentions on this day, and the intensity of a courser's attention was unmatched.
He felt their hand brushing his arm, his shoulder, his waist, he heard their voice say his name, introduce him with that hefty title he never once would've considered for himself if not for them, and he saw their face, their infectious grin. If they were aware of the animosity in the air surrounding them, Sole gave no indication.
And nor should they.
They had nothing to be ashamed of. One day, in the not-too-distant past, he might not have held that same opinion. Today though, he couldn't fathom 'shame,' and 'Sole' existing on the same plane. He was lucky to have them. Being with them was a greater honor and opportunity than the synth could have previously imagined possible for himself. He only hoped, in such an earnest, sentimental way that it felt as though he'd left his own body, that they felt similar sentiments at being with him.
If their expression, their words, their sincere vows were anything to go off of though, X6 would say that his hope was well-founded.

I just found your blog, it's really cool you're doing this!
Anyway, how do you think the companions would react to Sole being seriously injured/nearly dying?
Thanks for requesting! Sorry it took me so long to write this.
Cait: ā€œShit, shit, shit! You better not die on me, Sole!ā€ sheā€™ll curse while picking you up from the ground and hauling you over to the nearest doctor she can find. She will threaten and beat up anyone to get you the help you need as fast as possible.Ā
Codsworth: ā€œSir/Mum, please hold on!ā€ Codsworth will frantically try any sort of first aid he can to stabilize you. He wonā€™t admit it to himself, but he is not optimistic about your survival chances because his Mr. Handy body does not allow him to pick you up and get you help. Heā€™ll have to find a way to get help to you and that will take double the amount of time.Ā
Curie: Curie will be the most calm and collected. Being a doctor, she has experience patching people up and she knows panicking will only make things worse. With Curie by your side, you are in good hands. Sheā€™ll do whatever she can with the current equipment she has and once you are stabilized she will bring you to either a hospital or a friendly settlement to nurse you back to health completely.Ā
Danse: Danse might freeze for a second. Instinctively, he recalls Brotherhood protocol but he hesitates because he also knows how harsh that protocol can be. You are not just any soldier, youā€™re you, and no part of him is willing to risk you dying just because the protocol doesnā€™t care for your survival as much as he does. So instead, heā€™ll forgo protocol, forgo the mission in general if necessary and bring you to safety.Ā
Deacon: ā€œItā€™s just a flesh wound. Carrington will patch you right up,ā€ is what he tells you to keep you calm, but he himself does not believe it. Your condition is a lot more severe than he is letting on and he has to try hard not to openly panic. Luckily, Deacon knows his way around the Commonwealth pretty well, so heā€™ll pick you up and take the fastest and safest way back to HQ, all the while cracking some lighthearted jokes to keep you smiling.Ā
Gage: Raiders are mostly not known for their medical skills. The lifestyle Gage chose is one where death is accepted. However, raiders often also stock up on drugs. He himself is not a fan of it, but he does know where others hide their caches around Nuka World. So heā€™ll give you some buffout and med-x, and then haul you over to the nearest doctor after which he goes off on his own for a bit. Gage normally doesnā€™t care when others die, but seeing you close to death made him panic, which made him realize that heā€™s grown attached to you. He is not sure how he feels about that and needs some time alone to reflect.Ā
Hancock: First and foremost, Hancock will get you to safety and bring you to a doctor for help. Heā€™ll stay really calm during this. He wonā€™t show you how he feels and heā€™ll just focus on reassuring you with comforting words. However, he also wonā€™t stick around when the doctor is treating you because he will be hellbent on getting revenge on the people who dared to hurt you.Ā  ā€œYouā€™re in good hands here, Sunshine. I have to go take care of something.ā€Ā
Longfellow: ā€œTold you the island would eat you alive,ā€ he mumbled while dragging you back to the doctor in Far Harbor. Longfellow hasnā€™t gotten attached to someone in a long time, and even though he likes your company, he always kept himself shielded. Of course, he hopes that youā€™ll pull through, but heā€™s not panicked or upset. Most people die in the fog, so why not you too?Ā
MacCready: Mac is a survivor. Heā€™s been fighting since he was a little kid and heā€™s found himself in countless hazardous situations. Therefore, MacCready is wise enough to not go out without some healing supplies on hand. Still, he panics seeing someone he cares for so dangerously hurt, and will fumble around looking for a stimpak in his backpack, finally emptying all its contents out onto the ground to find it more easily.Ā Ā
Nick: ā€œI ainā€™t gonna lie kid, itā€™s not looking good. How are you feeling? You think you can walk?ā€ Nick has lived a long life - even if doesnā€™t see all of his memories as his own -, heā€™s lost a lot of people and in his line of work a happy ending is mostly not the outcome. That doesnā€™t mean that he doesnā€™t care or that he wonā€™t try everything he can to save you, it just means heā€™s good at staying calm and collected during these kinds of situations.Ā
Piper: ā€œYouā€™re not going to die out here, Sole! I promise!" Piper will quickly administer a stim, then put your arm over her shoulder and drag you to the nearest doctor. Sheā€™ll try to remain calm but small things give away that sheā€™s panicking, like having trouble aiming her gun right at enemies along the way, and losing her temper at every obstacle you encounter.Ā
Preston: ā€œCome on, general! You can pull through!ā€ Preston will be terrified of losing you. While carrying you to the closest doctor around, heā€™ll still beg anyone he meets along the way for help.Ā
Strong: ā€œHuman fight well! Now die like warrior.ā€Ā Ā
X6-88: ā€œThe Institute needs you, sir/maā€™am.ā€ Heā€™ll administer a stimpak and will then ask you to teleport back to the institute for further treatment.

Companion's Comfort Foods
(I didn't include Ada and Codsworth cause they don't eat)
Cait: Cait's comfort food is cottage pie (which is shepards pie with beef instead of lamb). It was on the food rotation at the combat zone before the raiders took over and it brings back good memories of her first few years of freedom. Cottage pie and a beer is a good supper for her.
Curie: A bowl of sugarbombs. It was the first meal she had after she got turned into a synth so she's grown really fond of it. She likes cereal in general so if you sit her down with some and a puzzle, she'll be so happy, though she does like eating while talking to a friend.
Danse: When he was in the BOS it probably would have been coffee seeing as the food really wasn't great. It was pretty much flavorless chicken and mashed tatoes and the thought of it made his stomach churn. A cup of coffee however was guaranteed, and it was good every time. After BB no questions asked his comfort food is beef(brahmin) stew. Sturges makes some flavorful, mouthwatering, downright sinful tasting food and you'll always see Danse first in line whenever it's the stew in particular that's being made. He also likes to dip some cornbread in it, and it isn't uncommon that you'll see him patting his stomach after eating like some midwestern dad.
Deacon: Roasted mutton on fry bread with hot peppers. Deacon was raised on Lake Mead by his mom and grandparents. His grandma was Navajo, so they always had something with fry bread and meat, normally bighorner meat. The mutton became his favorite though. It's a wave of nostalgia every time he takes a bite. He doesn't really have it anymore, partly because of he can't really get it in the commonwealth and partly because even if he makes it, it's never as good as his family makes. A big stupid smile is on his face whenever he visits his mom, and she makes it for him. Though he hasn't been out there in a while, too busy helping the Railroad.
Dogmeat: Dogmeat will eat anything, and he doesn't really have a comfort food. His favorite food though his dried brahmin ears,
Strong: Pre War Strong and Super mutant Strong actually agree in this area, his comfort food is still ribs. Pre-war, he liked dry rub ribs that make your mouth water and stomach grumble when you look at them, he was damn good at making them to cause he learned from his grandad so anytime he made them he thought about him. Now he likes raw brahmin ribs. He isn't picky anymore and doesn't care as long as he eats but if he really concentrates, he can still hear a deep laugh like rolling thunder and smell a hint of spice when he takes a bite.
Preston: Rabbit Stew. Growing up with his auntie on far harbor he ate pretty much everything, mans was a human garbage disposal. However, he had broken his leg when he was 10 and his auntie made him rabbit stew. They sat in the bed and laughed and joked for hours as she told him stories. His big brother even joined them and joked around too. Now every time he makes it, that memory is at the front of his mind, it causes a smile to sit on his face for the rest of the day afterwords.
Piper: Her dad used to make cabbage rolls with corn and rad stag. She still makes it for Nat but when she starts cooking it, she swears she can hear her dad talking her through how to make it for the first time. She doesn't let herself get sad at the memory when she's cooking, she embraces it. She keeps promising to teach nat how to make it but she's kind of swamped with work at the moment, but they have it every week they can afford it.
MacCready: Like danse he also likes stew however his comfort food his mushroom stew. He remembers eating it in Little Lamplight and when he takes a bite suddenly, he's Mayor MacCready sitting with his pals and getting irritated at Princess again. He also thinks of him chatting with lucy, both as kids and adults and gets a comforting sadness for a little afterword but comforting none the less.
Hancock: Him and his brother used to make fruit jam growing up and would sell it in Diamond City market. He still makes the jams now with the help of Daisy and sells them in her store. His mind wanders and he wonders that if things were different between McDonough and him, if they would still make them together. His brother's favorite was the dandy boy apple one so that's his comfort food. Dandy Boy Apple Jam.
Nick Valentine: Coffee. Nick doesn't eat much and human nick really only ate out of necessity. Ellie makes him a cup every morning and they talk before they get to work. Good memories are enjoyed over coffee and that's good enough for Nick.
X6-88: When he was in the institute he liked the coconut nutrition pouches but he wouldn't classify it as a comfort food because he was a machine that didn't need comfort in his or the institutes eyes. Now that he runs around with sole survivor though, his comfort food is braised deathclaw with rice. It's extremely filling, and he thinks of that first night he was assigned to Sole and they made them this. It was one of the first times he seriously considered being something close to human.
Longfellow: Roasted Fog Crawler with black beans and a side of scotch. He cooks well and he actually really enjoys it. Whenever he cooks, he gets peace and peace is comfort. Not to mention the whiskey settles his soul for a bit.
Gage: Spicy Curry. He learned to make this dish originally from his mom and for a while after becoming a raider he didn't touch it again cause of the memories. Eventually though, one night when he wasn't thinking about it, he started taking out the ingredients to make it. Muscle memory is a bitch but he's not going to waste food and when he took that first bite, he heard his mom singing in his brain and telling him to wash up after. It's rare when he does eat it but when he does you might be able to hear him humming as he makes it.

Companions React To Sole Announcing Her Pregnancy
Cait:
She was neither happy, nor sad for Sole. She offhandedly told her ā€œCongratulations on the wee oneā€ when they swapped out guard shifts. Months upon months passed, and finally little Shaun 2 was born.
Caitā€™s heroine business was getting lean in the resource department, so she snuck into Soleā€™s house when she was sleeping, slipping through the back window. She shuffled quietly through the kitchen, checking closet to closet, until finally, jackpot. Baby powder. ā€œFinally, Iā€™ll be able to turn a profit!ā€
Ā The next day Sole asked around if anyone had seen her missing baby powder. She was within the vicinity of caitā€™s house, and passed by an unsafe looking individual that swapped items with cait. ā€˜Canā€™t judge a book by itā€™s cover!ā€™ Sole thought, a smile on her face.
Cait spotted her and attempted to shut her front door, but Sole got her boot in it first. ā€œHeyyy Cait! I was just asking around, did you happen to see a bottle of baby powder anywhere? Mine just abruptly went missing.ā€ Caitā€™s gaze shifted to her desk, then back to Sole, then to the desk. ā€œUhh, no, whyā€™r you asking me that? What would I need baby powder for? I donā€™t like what youā€™re implyinā€™. Get out me house!ā€ And with that, she shoved Sole out the front door and slammed it in her face.
From that point on, whenever Sole would miraculously find another bottle of baby powder, it would strangely disappear in the night. Caitā€™s front yard had a mile-long line of drifters and ne-er do wells on it at all times, and Shaun turned to dust due to improper infant care.
Codsworth:Ā
He knows this is his own doing. Codsworth realizes with a heavy heart that he now has another set of lives to worry about and protect in the wasteland. Heā€™d already lost sole once, and ever since his heart had turned to stone.
Codsworth goes to the local chapel and prays for forgiveness for what he was about to do. Heā€™d never forgiven Sole for dying and for leaving him behind in the blast. Codsworth tells sole heā€™s going out to buy diapers for the little toaster, and all he leaves behind is a pack of cigarettes and a puff of smoke. Between a wave of hookers a booze, Codsworth is never seen again.Ā
Curie:Ā
She cooed that a young human child, Soleā€™s child, would be joining them all shortly. She had always loved babies, and Dr. Collins and her frequently tested on them to find ways for humanity to survive the irradiated wasteland in the future.
One day, Sole and some of her companions had to leave and help one of the settlements. Curie was entrusted to watch the baby, to which she agreed to do with extreme fervor. ā€œThe little one will be safe with me Mademoizelle.ā€ Sole tossed the toddler like a football and Curie went long. ā€œSo long!ā€ Curie almost squealed.
Immediately she took the baby to her test chambers which she had been secretly building in a shack, not too far from Sanctuary. The child was given many different experimental vaccines and medicines, which didnā€™t do much of anything. Curie started losing hope. Then, something happened.
The baby started growing. And growing. It bust out of the flimsy tin shack they were both in. Then it kept growing to the size of a skyscraper. Curie began crying happy tears, and fell to her knees. ā€œHumanity finally has a chance to survive! Mr Collins, we did it!ā€
Danse:Ā
Was excited he would have the opportunity to brainwash another unwilling victim over to the brotherhood. ā€œItā€™s time to stay with Uncle Danse, Shaun Jr. Be good!ā€ Sole said on the way out of the house, off to her go-go dancing. The baby and Danse locked eyes. ā€œLetā€™s begin.ā€
For non-stop 13 hours, Shaun Jr was to perform Brotherhood drills, which were demanding on his baby body. Danse custom-built him a tiny power armor suit. The pair of them traveled the wasteland, going door to door and handing out pamphlets about the danger of ghouls and feminism.
Sole finally arrived home, and the baby she left was not the baby now in front of her. His brow was furrowed. His fist, clenched. He had been indoctrinated. Sole wept.
Deacon:
Deacon has always felt insecure and unsure of his place in soles life. When he hears she is with child deacon is overjoyed at first, he cant wait to have a baby around to put tiny sunglasses on and teach to spy. But deacon soon realizes that if the baby is born, then deacon will be replaced as the bald man in soles life and sole wont have time for deacon anymore.
Deacon spends hours and hours waxing and polishing his bald head so that it would stand out as the most bulbous and waxed head in the world- even better than the new born babies. Sadly, deacon doesnā€™t realize that sole loves him for more than his bald head and deacon spends so much time waxing and polishing his head that he neglects his friendship with sole.
Sole runs away and gets attacked by a deathclaw as Deacon stares in the mirror, transfixed by the glow of his own bald head.Ā
Hancock:Ā
In the midst of all the cheers and laughter, Hancock is silent. He is seen tugging at the collar of his mayoral shirt, and sweating ghoul bullets. Weeks pass, and Sole finds he is being distant and avoiding her.
Finally, she confronts him as heā€™s taking a leak on an irradiated tree, making him stop mid-piss. ā€œOk, itā€™s time to end this!ā€ She screamed. Hancock zipped up his jorts hastily and turned around, attempting to look charismatic and casual but failing. Sole could tell in his inky, black eyes that something was bothering him, deeply. He sighed.
ā€œYouā€™re right. You donā€™t deserve this, Sole. Itā€™s just thatā€¦ What if your babyā€¦ Looks like me?ā€ A ghoul tear fell from his empty, soulless eye and dropped, joining his piss on the ground.
Soul walked over to him, and put a friendly hand on his shoulder in an attempt to calm his quiet, shaky breaths. ā€œHancockā€¦ No matter what my baby looks like, Iā€™d love them. Just like I love you.ā€ Then she smirked. ā€œBesides, itā€™s Strongā€™s baby.ā€
MacCready:Ā
Maccready knows an opportunity when he sees it. Caps are his main priority, and when the going is tough heā€™s willing to get down in the dirt and be a street rat like every other wastelander.
That night after throwing Sole a party to celebrate her pregnancy (and wearing a sinister smile the whole time) Maccready changes into an outfit of all black and sneaks out in the dead of night. He makes contact with Jeanie May, and hands her a certain contractā€¦ Sole and the baby are sold for fifty caps and Maccready has a few free rounds of beer.Ā
Valentine:
After Sole essentially saved the commonwealth and beat the Institute threat, business had been slow. Upon hearing that Sole was with child, the lighbulb attached to his robo-head went off. 10 months pass and Sole had a perfectly healthy baby boy, whom she oddly named Shaun. For many days and many nights, the other companions would give Sole gifts and attention, leaving the old detective to collect rust in his office. He tented his metal fingers. ā€œItā€™s time.ā€
(1 day later, 16:00) A flurry of footsteps is heard outside, and Nick wore a wry smile. Bells jingled as the door slammed open. Sole looked beside herself, in an unkempt state, and more manic than heā€™d ever seen her. ā€œItā€™s Shaun! Nickā€¦ Heā€™s-Heā€™s gone!ā€ She clenched his desk and let out a massive, eight wheeler, tractor trailer-size fart. ā€œI canā€™t do this again Nick, I just canā€™t!!!ā€Ā
ā€œCalm down Sole, itā€™s going to be alright. Thanks to my handy-dandy detective skills, weā€™re gonna get your boy back. For real this time.ā€ That seemed to ease her anxiety, just a tad.
For many days and many nights they made fliers, and Nickā€™s business was more popular than ever before. He was able to afford an irradiated limousine, yacht, and robo-wife. Life was good. He finally decided he had acquired enough material goods, at least for now, to be satisfied.
Making sure no one was following him, he walked behind one of the houses in Sanctuary to the hidden bunker no one knew existed. Inside was baby shaun. The thought of her child not being lost after all, and right under Soleā€™s nose made him chuckle darkly with glee. That bitch.
Picking him up disgustedly, he began walking to the square of sanctuary only for a blur of color to appear in his peripheral vision. His orbs werenā€™t as strong as they used to be, and when he recognized what it was, it was too late. A deathclaw swallowed Shaun whole, burped, and walked away.Ā
Piper:
She knows there's a story here, there just has to be. Piper frets long hours of the night in front of her evil magic mirror, plotting a way to get publik occurrences on the world map.
Through extensive research and bribing Piper finds out that Sole has a serious disease from being cryogenically frozen and she will die soon. Piper waits until the baby turns 18 to announce in a tell all article that the baby has blood poisoning from their mothers cryogenic freezing.
She had been studying the effects on a human from birth ever since the baby was born, and now her research has made her millions of caps. She also adds that soles child has two days left to live and sips her wine from her pimp chalice with a smirk.Ā
Preston:
Preston decides to raise this baby just like he was raised, to protect and serve the minutemen. He tries to raise the baby with the best values he can, but soon shaun starts to act out. First its a stolen candy bar, then itā€™s vandalism. Preston has a good talk with them every time and he tries to reinstall those values, but shaun never listens.
One day shaun acts out again by leaving the kitchen door opened with the air conditioner on, and preston makes them go outside and count the flowers.Ā
Strong:Ā
Smashed the baby, killing it instantly.
X6:Ā
Sees this baby as an opportunity for the institute, which is quickly failing with no leader. He tracks down Edward Deegan, and forces him to hand over the mystery serum, which he reverse engineers into an aging serum.
One quiet night, he sneaks into Soleā€™s house and babynaps her child. ā€œWelcome back, Father. My creator.ā€ He says in a quiet prayer before injecting the child. It happens in a flash; where once there was a baby, there now was an old man.
The issue was, he still had the mind of a baby. X6 strangely did not consider this before carrying out this plan, and picked up old-man baby Shawn and set him back in his crib. Back to the drawing board, he thought.

FO4 Companions React to a Blind!Sole
Sole being blind Pre-war (TW for Ableism)Ā
I've never written one of these before, but my most recentĀ  Sole is blind so I thought I'd put my idea of how I think the companions would react.Ā
Cait: Doesn't believe that Sole is blind at first. They're too good of a shot, too aware of what's going on to be blind. But she notices that Sole does struggle with things those with sight wouldn't even bat an eye at. They often face the wrong way when being told to read something, they also are terrible at keeping watch. She at first is mad that she has to "pick up the slack" but she quickly gets over it after Sole treats her with kindness and understanding. Doesn't take long for her to stand up for Sole in every situation.
Codsworth: Sole's blindness was something that he got used to not long after being purchased. As a Mr. Handy, he has software that allows him to assist those who are disabled. It never affected how Sole treated him, nor his perception of them. In the post war setting, with the world being so different from what Sole remembers, he tries to assist in even more ways than he used to. Going with Sole to Concord for example, or at least wanting to when they denied his request. He doesn't treat Sole any differently from before, and tries not to handle them with kid gloves knowing how much they hate that.
Curie: Sees Sole as a curiosity. At first she often tries to run little tests to figure out the severity of their blindness and the extent of their capabilities. She's a doctor, she wants to know the extent of their blindness and what she can do to potentially assist. That being said, after being called out she knocks it off and switches her focus on listening to Sole and what they want. She wants to be helpful, unaware of how condescending she can be at times.
Deacon: Thinks Sole is extremely interesting from the moment he sees them the first time. Their ability to get around without much trouble and handle the wasteland without sight is fascinating. He appreciates that Sole can't see him following them around, and when Sole comes around to get the courser chip decoded he still vouches for them. Still, due to the nature of the Railroad and the fact they use road signs and need to keep an eye out he worries Sole won't be a good agent. He doesn't want to risk any synth getting caught or hurt because Sole didn't notice the danger. Overall he respects Sole, but thinks Sole is best on Railroad jobs with him or Glory by their side. He does get annoyed that their PipBoy has voice to text on, as it gives them away when sneaking but he can look past that.
Danse: The fact that a citizen came in guns blazing to save him and his squad got his respect, but once he noticed their blindness he instantly feels like Sole is a liability. People being blind wasn't the most uncommon thing in the brotherhood, but those who were blind often weren't allowed on the field anymore. More often than not they were asked to more or less retire to not put their teammates at risk. He tries to tactfully get Sole to leave, but he knows he needs the extra firepower to get the transmitter. He appreciates the help but is wary about sponsoring them even if they proved their capabilities. After becoming his newest charge, he acts like they are the same as any recruit. That being said, it takes him a long time to not handle Sole like a helpless child. He knows Sole can handle themselves, but he can't help but treat them a little differently. It takes being pulled aside and called out before he realizes he's even doing that, and he apologizes and tries his hardest to knock it off.
Dogmeat: Confused at first but he's a good smart boy. Happy to be Sole's eyes instead.
Hancock: At first, he thought Sole was just a cold, badass bitch. No reaction to a man being stabbed in front of them, AND no reaction to him being a ghoul? But the realization hit him quickly after, and he didn't know how to feel. Sole was clearly street smart enough to not be taken advantage of, but that didn't mean people didn't suck. Honestly, if anyone belonged in the town full of misfits who look out for each other, it was Sole. He treats them like they treat him, like a person that is just like everyone else. He is guilty of subtly moving things out of Sole's way or tapping them so they face the right direction, but it's never really noticeable. It's similar to moving something out of someone's way when they are distracted or tapping someone's shoulder to get their attention.Ā Ā
Maccready: He assumed that he was being hired to be a bodyguard. After all, being blind in the wastes was not easy and they'd need protection. Didn't take long for him to realize Sole is a damn good shot and is able to take care of themself. He deduces that Sole hired him not as a bodyguard, but as a companion, someone who was company on the road so they had someone to talk to. And if he just so happened to notice if someone was trying to rip Sole off he'd be able to call them out. He doesn't treat Sole any differently, before or after his quest. Before, they're his employer he's not saying shit and after they're his friend and he's not going to risk that relationship.Ā
Nick: He knew something was up the moment Sole didn't even slightly react to his appearance. Didn't panic seeing him, nor asked what his deal was. The fact they were able to get him out without being able to see, using a terminal and all got his respect. But he was still nervous that a blind person was using a gun, or he was until by some miracle Sole landed at least 6 head-shots in a row. Once being free, the interview to try and find Shaun was difficult. No physical characteristics to go on, the guess that it was Kellogg was honestly just lucky. Regardless, Sole treated Nick like a person from the moment they met, and he'd be lying that it wasn't nice to just be seen as normal. It's only fair he returns the favor.
Piper: Sole was already extremely interesting to Piper, but add on the fact they can't see and she's instantly more interested. What's life in the Commonwealth like if you can't see it? What was life like before the bombs? How do you use your weapon so effectively? She overcompensates for Sole's lack of sight by being reckless, especially when they first travel together. She probably forgets often that Sole is blind, often being like "Hey did you see that Blue?" And then remembering and apologizing. She does get better with time, and definitely publishes papers calling out people/businesses who try to take advantage of Sole. Any papers in the Publick that Sole is in she reads out loud to them.
Preston: He's just relieved that someone came to help them in the Museum. He couldnā€™t give a shit that Sole is blind, he cares that they're willing to help. The only hiccup is getting the fusion core in the basement since Sturges can't get it and Sole can't get it either. They offer to try and are lucky enough to get it first try and grab the fusion core. After meeting back at Sanctuary he opts to not mention it as it's none of his business. By the time he feels comfortable enough around Sole to ask about it, they're friends and he doesn't want them to be uncomfortable so he never brings it up. He's the type to gently point Sole in the right direction if they're looking the wrong way in conversions or moving stuff out of the way if they might trip on them. He also makes sure that Sanctuary and the Castle are as consistent as possible so that Sole has an easier time navigating them.
Strong: does not appreciate the puny human not being able to see. How can they help him find the milk of human kindness if they can't even see it? He sees Soul as a weakling and refuses to travel with them.
X6: Doesn't care that Sole is Father's parent, Sole is a liability and cannot handle themself as well as a person with sight can. He doesn't like being paired with Sole.
Old Longfellow: Honestly he kind of envies them. They never have to see the horrors of the fog like he has. But he's aware that one day he might lose his sight too. Besides, the thickness of the fog even having sight isn't much of an advantage. He helps Sole the same way he helps all travelers to Acadia, with the added bonus that Sole can defend themselves.Ā
Gage: Helps sole at first because he can't tell they can't see, instantly turns on them after they become overboss due to blindness being a weakness.

speaking of brave!
companions react to finding some horses? i dunno it seems neat!
A/N: Gosh, I wish we had horses in-game. It would be literally epic šŸ˜« It'd be like Fallout 4 met RDR2 and that would be heaven for me šŸ˜
I hope y'all enjoy this react!! Thank you for the request! šŸ’™
Cait - Is wary at first, but once F!Sole tames and wrangles one for her and she realizes it can facilitate her running into battle and making swift attacks, she is all for it. F!Sole teaches her to ride and she ends up loving it, blazing into gun fights with a sawed-off shotgun in one hand and her reins in the other.
Curie - Does not really want to ride it, but she is exceedingly excited about the fact that this is a new specimen for her to examine. She starts on her research immediately, and she is the one that has the idea to experiment in breeding the optimum horses. Naturally, her project ends up attracting the attention of multiple important factions in the Commonwealth.
Piper - Is honestly super excited about it once her Blue shows that it's possible to train them and ride them. She immediately finds one that she names Harper, and she loves traveling the Commonwealth via horseback with F!Sole and her horse. However, they're not super big fans back in Diamond City, and they end up making her keep her horse outside of the city because horse manure has a suspicious way of showing up at the homes of people that Piper doesn't like.
MacCready - Is at first scared of them. Honestly, he stays a little afraid of them even after F!Sole starts breaking them. He prefers to have full control over where he's going and giving part of the control over to an animal that could kill him is a little scary. After he rides a few times, he overcomes the fear and actually likes it, but he has to have the most tame, docile horse that F!Sole breaks.
Deacon - Thinks they're cool, but still prefers to travel on the ground. However, when he gets the idea to pop a Stealth Boy while sitting on the horse's back, he has to try it. When somehow only known to the powers that be and Deacon that it works, Deacon can be found mysteriously appearing all over the Commonwealth with his pompadour riding a palomino.
Codsworth - Thinks that it's quite dandy to have a horse! He knew that Mum and Sir could never have one in their old home but it is good to see Mum having the opportunity to enjoy equine companionship now after the war. It is also quite a breathtaking sight to see the horses running across the Commonwealth. It would bring a tear to his eye if he were human.
Hancock - Cannot deny the rush of giddiness he feels when he sees them. He's always dreamed of riding a white horse around Goodneighbor and the Commonwealth. It fits well with his patriotic self-image. As soon as they find a white horse, he instantly claims it. However, trying to break the wild-spirited thing proves to be a true challenge indeed.
Danse - Is honestly intrigued after he finds that they are not some sort of threat. If it's Pre-BB, he wants to share the discovery with the Brotherhood in order to facilitate ground travel. However, if it's Post-BB, he ends up growing extremely invested in helping to care for them and train them with F!Sole. He ends up strangely really taking to rancher life.
Preston - Is very interested and excited. Similarly to Curie, he wants to try to breed them, but his motivation is to supply the Minutemen. With Curie's impeccable science in breeding the best traits in the horses that F!Sole finds, within the next several years, the Minutemen are supplied with the best mounts to patrol the Commonwealth.
Valentine - Finds it nostalgic in that Nick sort of way. He thinks that it's a good idea to use them for riding and breeding, but he also thinks it's nice to have wild ones riding across the Commonwealth. It adds a charmingly Western feel to things with the untamed steeds racing throughout the wilderness and through what remains of a life gone by.
X6-88 - Insists that they are unreliable and untrustworthy when it comes to riding them or anything else. They are too large and too skittish. However, deep within himself, he tries desperately to crush the strange desire to ride one. When F!Sole offers him a black one with a white star on its head, practically forcing X6-88 on its back, he tries to deny the happy feeling within himself. However, it becomes hard to find him at a time when he's not on his horse after that.
Dogmeat - Chases them when he first sees them. However, when F!Sole scolds him, he stops, realizing that these animals must not be for chasing. But if they're not for chasing, then why do they run?! He ends up befriending the ones that F!Sole brings to her self-built breeding farm that she plans and creates with Curie, and he believes that maybe they're big, giant dogs.
Strong - Immediately wants to eat it, having never tried horse meat. However, when he finds out that they are for riding and traveling with, he does not like it. Feet are for traveling. Animals are not for traveling.
ADA - Thinks it's a wonderful find especially since it will make travel easier for her human mistress. However, F!Sole soon realizes she needs to invest in some assaultron legs for ADA so she can actually keep up...

Fallout Guys reacting to their crush Sole who has been traveling with them for awhile, and know each other like two peas in a pod, suddenly saying that they'll need to part ways for a little bit as there's something that they have to face alone. They promise they'll be back as soon as they find what they're looking for. A week passes and they return with a couple of items they picked up and gifts them as they apologize for leaving but they needed time to process. When they ask what they're trying to process, Sole says, "That I'm allowed to love you." As it turns out, they liked him too but was struggling with what their late spouse would think. Ultimately they decided that they'd want them to be happy.
怋Ooh, I love this. Also, looking down the list I think they would feel conflicted about it as well. Extremely my shit.
Tumblr media
怐Danse怑 "Are you sure?"
There is a certain self-loathing he has after Blind Betrayal that leaves him lost. Through all of it you pushed him better footing and he was doing so well. Then you dropped that on him. It takes a conversation to teach him it's also okay for him.
怐Deacon怑 "Of course it is. Have you seen me?"
Like always, he hides behind false bravado. He panics and tries to shift the focus to the idea you were bound to fall in love with his dashing rogue persona. Of course that doesn't work when he sees your face, like you're about to cry.
怐Hancock怑 "Took you long enough."
He had absolutely no idea you felt the same and he himself was feeling insecure about staying by your side with his love. You lost your spouse and here he was wanting that from you. But now that you told him you do as well he's over the moon.
怐MacCready怑 "Then I guess I am too."
He was in the same boat. Lucy only died a few years back, and to you Nate/Nora died less than a year ago. He was so caught up in figuring out if it was appropriate to love you he missed very obvious signs you were throwing.
怐Nick怑 "Lucky me."
He didn't particularly grieve Jenny, not in the way you grieved Nate/Nora, didn't have the direction to. He never thought to consider Jenny's feelings in his life. Somehow that made him feel better. You wanted him, and he wasn't the man from 200 years ago. You weren't a haunting shadow or clearly mistaken.
怐Preston怑 "I'm sure he/she would want you to be happy."
The idea of your late spouse made him feel conflicted from the start. You didn't seem to want to let go so he left it alone and refrained from asking. Because of that this came at him from a bit of left field. But who was he to say what they would feel about it or how you should handle it.
怐X6-88怑 "I see."
He did not see. To be blunt, Nate/Nora was dead, their permission was not needed. Even if they were alive you could ignore their wishes. Who would say no to you? Not him. But for you he'll sugarcoat it. It's not like he dislikes the news it comes with.

Fallout 4 companions as surgeons in a medical drama
This post has been brought to you by my old Grey's Anatomy hyperfixation clawing its way out out of the basement in my brain
Minus Strong because God no do not let Strong do surgery in any universe
Cait- Orthopedic surgeon, do not fuck up in her OR because it will not end well for you
Codsworth- Pediatric surgeon. He's very good with his paitents, good with teaching residents
Curie- Head of Cardio. Godlike in the OR, very passionate about her clinical trials.
Danse- Trauma surgeon. Used to be a surgeon in the military. Can save a guy you're sure is going to be dead.
Deacon- Plastic surgeon, focus on reconstructive surgery. Probably does free cleft pallet surgery for kids.
Hancock- Not technically a surgeon but Hancock is an anesthesiologist. Cracks jokes in the OR. Has probably "accidentally" taken drugs from work home with him.
Maccready- Surgical resident, interested in pediatric surgery.
Nick- Head of General Surgery. Has seen a lot of shit in all his years of being a surgeon, very little surprises him anymore. Very calm in the OR, if he's worried everyone is worried.
Preston- Heart Surgeon. Amazing bedside manner, probably cries when he loses a paitent, does probono surgery.
Piper- Another surgical resident like Maccready, not sure what she wants to specialize in. Potentially interested in neuro but a little scared of X6
X6-88- Neurosurgeon, hardly ever says a word in the OR, no one knows anything about his personal life. Scares the shit out of the residents. Very talented, it you ask him about his research he'll show emotion around you
Bonus
Gage- Gage lost his license to medical malpractice
Elder Maxon- Nepo Baby Resident. Piper and Maccready talk shit about him behind his back. X6 yelled at him in the OR and he will never live it down.
Desdemona- General surgeon, been there almost as long as Nick, she is so tired.
Father- Used to be the head of neuro, got fired for something that the board is keeping on the down low. Even acting head X6 doesn't know what exactly he did.
DiMA- Radiologist, doesn't seem to have left the scan room in months, does he live there?
Dogmeat- therapy dog, we love you Dogmeat

How would the companions react to Little Lamplight and Mayor Maccready?
Thanks for requesting!
Cait:
Little Lamplight: ā€œIt may seem cruel for these children to have to live like this butā€¦ I think I would prefer this over my own childhood, you know?ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œNot a hope that this little shithead and MacCready are the same person! Way too polite, that bloke.ā€Ā
Codsworth:
Little Lamplight: ā€œA society run by children? Oh mum/sir, I donā€™t dare imagine little Shaun having to grow up in a place like this.ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œOh dear, such hostility from a child? I suppose I canā€™t expect anything different. These poor kids never had any proper adult guidance! Sir/mum, I propose we send a Ms Nanny their way!ā€Ā
Curie:
Little Lamplight: ā€œOh, this is just horrible! No child should have to survive in these conditions! Isnā€™t there anything we can do to help them?ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œSuch vulgarity! Has no one got manners anymore in this world?ā€Ā
Danse:
Little Lamplight: ā€œLook what the war did to these children! This is yet more proof of why technology in the hands of the wrong people can have devastating consequences!ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œThe exact attitude one would expect from someone whoā€™d grow up to be a mercenary.ā€ (Mac: ā€œWhatā€™s that supposed to mean??ā€)Ā
Deacon:
Little Lamplight: ā€œA parentless life is a sad reality for many children in the wastes. However morbid this may look, theyā€™ve been managing well.ā€
MacCready: Deacon will try to convince mayor MacCready that heā€™s just a really tall child. On top of that, he will forever call adult MacCready ā€˜mungoā€™ and make up countless different reasons for how he knows that term.
Gage:
Little Lamplight: ā€œInteresting set-up. I guess theyā€™re pretty safe here from outside threats, except - you know - the gigantic green monsters next door.ā€ (insert sarcasm)
MacCready: ā€œKid, you have no idea the kind of company Iā€™ve had to deal with all these years. You wanna rile me up? Then stray away from your vanilla boring ass insults ā€˜cause I ainā€™t impressed.ā€Ā
Hancock:
Little Lamplight: ā€œHuh, cozying up right next to a super mutant den? Either these kids are incredibly brave or incredibly stupid. Probably an unhealthy mix of both.ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œSo this is the origin story of our favorite mercenary? Hm, Iā€™ll admit, almost as good as mine.ā€Ā
Longfellow:
Little Lamplight: Longfellow wonā€™t say anything, but a profound sadness washes over him at the sight in front of him. If somewhere deep down he still had hope for the world, it was now for sure fully taken away.
MacCready: ā€œYoungsters these daysā€¦ā€Ā
MacCready:
ā€œAhh the good old times.ā€Ā
Nick:
Little Lamplight: ā€œI canā€™t tell if Iā€™m more impressed by their tenacity, or more disappointed that they need it to survive.ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œWell, behind every hardened mercenary, there is some kind of tragic backstory, isnā€™t there?ā€ He sighs. ā€œMaybe Iā€™ve been too hard on the kid.ā€Ā
Piper:
Little Lamplight: ā€œOh godā€¦ Iā€™ve always known the Wasteland was hard butā€¦ these are children. They should be getting raised by two loving parents not living likeā€¦ this.ā€
MacCready: Piperā€™s always known MacCready as a chill mercenary who tries a bit too hard to flirt with her. Sheā€™s never paid much attention to him, but seeing him as a child living in these circumstances, she suddenly finds herself looking at him in a completely different light.Ā
Preston:
Little Lamplight: ā€œThis is why we have to bring back the Minutemen! Children deserve to grow up in a safe place, not hiding out in a cave.ā€
MacCready: ā€œDamnā€¦ With how chill he is, youā€™d never guess he had this kind of childhood. Certainly explains why heā€™s so good at his job though.ā€Ā
Strong:
Little Lamplight: ā€œNot safe for small human! Brother smash small human!ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œSmall human talk too much!ā€Ā
X6-88:
Little Lamplight: ā€œAnd here I thought Iā€™d already seen the worst of the surface.ā€Ā
MacCready: ā€œInteresting. Somehow the child version seems tougher than the adult.ā€
