Okay someone mentioned this on twitter, and I think its both interesting and hilarious. The stag represents Christ, while Lucifer represents a serpent. Stags are enemies of the serpent. Now, we're not saying Alastor has anything related to Christ (though it could have something to do with his potential deal with Lilith), but it is interesting to note that at least biblically, the stag tramples the serpent, aka Christ destroying evil. They like to lunge at snakes, and its just kind of funny seeing how their height difference is depicted.

   Everything was going so smoothly, each and every enemy wasfalling so pathetically beneath them. Honestly, he felt unstoppable with her byhis side. Sure, their relationship was built upon flimsy ties and was bound tocrash and burn in the end; but it was so incredibly beneficial as of now.  Not a soul could deny that. Freud was lost inthe moment; the only thing that managed to pull him out of it was an oddly familiarvoice. It gasped, as though it had been struck by something. Everything stillfor Freud; a feeling of dread washed over him. His eyes were wide as he turned,expecting to see his fellow commander standing and still fighting. Rather, shewas on the ground, unmoving.

          “ Ophe!? ”

   But how…? Who? Why?! He dropped to the ground, setting thearea around him ablaze to keep anyone from interfering with them. Needless tosay, Freud was in a moment of shock. This was unexpected and far out of hiscalculations. Ophe wasn’t supposed to get injured in this. This was supposed tobe easy. Where did he go wrong? What happened?

   He bit his lip as he pulled her into his arms to inspectand, he prayed, heal her wounds. Alas, the wounds were much too deep. There wasno possible way to heal them in time. That wouldn’t stop him from trying,though. Denial was a powerful emotion after all.

          “ Hang on Ophe, just hang on! ”

   He held her close, cradling her in his arms as hedesperately tried to save her life. Attempt after attempt yet nothing worked.The wound was far too deep and she was fading fast. His breath stalled as herealized nothing could be done. His grip tightened on her, a pained look spreadacross his face as tears weld up. Could he really not do anything to save her?Was this really going to be the end?

   As quickly as they built up, tears began to stream down hischeeks.

          “ Dammit Ophe. What the hell, this wasn’t suppose              to happen.Dammit! You aren’t supposed to die! ”

   Yet again, he bit his lip; only this time to silencehimself. He shouldn’t be yelling at her, that shouldn’t be the last thing shehears from him. There was something else he should say. Something that was farmore important.

   ‘Stay with me until it’s over.’ She said.

          “ … As you wish. ”

   His hand held hers, fingers interlocking and squeezing herhand ever so gently. Her eyes began to close causing his heart to feel asthough it was being twisted. Gently he kissed her head and, not a moment after,she let out her final breath.

   Freud couldn’t bring himself to let her go. He clung to her,their foreheads pressed together. Only silent tears escaped him. He couldn’tcry out. He didn’t know what was holding him back, but not a sound could leavehis throat. He was grief stricken; it was unbearable, horrible weight thatweighed over him. It felt as though it was going to crush his being.

   Whoever did this was going to pay. He would drag them downto the deepest pits of hell. There would be no mercy for them, they wereunderserving of an easy death. They were going to suffer. He wanted thembegging, screaming for forgiveness. He wanted them to regret ever laying asingle eye on her.
