i altered the mspaint sketch in my pain program a bit after the fact (simons leg length, bettys nose, etc) i remember early iterations of the sketch having simons silly hat but decided not to include it because it would cover his whole darn head, maybe next time boy

he was also originally supposed to be crying, aiding to the sadness and madness theme, but couldnt find an elegant way to include it so whoops i guess

bettys design took a few tries because i wanted to keep the "ice king" uhh simplicity i guess, but ultimately opted for the more complicated but more recognizable as betty design in the bottom corner, with simons design, i pretty mush knew what i wanted immediately lol, he didnt go through as any revisions, hence the emptier ref sheet but i changed it in the final piece anyways lol

The soulmark au hurts

Basically fnc are soulmates and have each others mark right? And originally, gillions prophecy said that w the help of his soulmate, he’d save both land and sea, but thats not how the elders taught him. The elders believed that soulmates were a waste of time that would make their chosen one weak, so they destroyed that part of the prophecy, and taught him the version we know, while also teaching him how shameful his mark was. At some point, they cut it off of him, leaving the skin of his forearm marred and disfigured enough that the mark was no longer visible.

Secretly, Gillion always wanted to know his soulmate. He didnt believe they would make him weak.

And chip had been waiting for year to meet his soulmate. He wanted everything to do with them. And when they met, chip didnt realize his mark was gillion’s and gillion told both chip and jay that he didnt have a soulmate

Theyre both idiots. It takes a long time and a lot of feelings before they realize

Concept idea thing. Let me know if this is hard to read

TLDR:

A penguin gets a Prismo wish and wants more ice. This results in Simon and the Crown fully fusing after a young Marcy dies, and he frosts over all of Apocalyptic Ooo. All of the Vampires, Zombies, and Humans got shut into the permafrost, and whatever's left lives on the outskirt islands. The other elements stay mostly dormant for centuries longer than usual.

Ice Lord has retained his memories (too many memories even, because this includes some of Gunther 1's). His personality has shifted into something more violent and impulsive than even Ice King, but his sympathy and reason shine through when he recognizes a situation/person.

Mostly more Simon angst, I'm sure this has been overdone already but I like him. And i like the little mutant penguins heehee
