DAY AND NIGHT [CHAPTER SEVEN]

Overtime

The next few days were pretty much the same.

The kids would come, you would all play games together, have lunch, take a nap, and then the parents would come pick up their kids.

On Tuesday though, the pizzeria was closed and almost nobody was inside.

You used your security badge to get inside.

The place was quiet, which was unsettling since you were used to walking into work every day and seeing people talking to each other.

The only "people" you could see where Janitor bots.

A security bot approached you and asked for your I.D.

You showed it your I.D. and it made a checking sound as it entered you into the system.

You walked through the quiet hallways all the way to the daycare.

You opened the door and Eclipse was hanging upside down on the wire.

"Eclipse? What are you doing?" You asked.

Eclipse opened his eyes and spun off the wire.

"Waiting for you to arrive." He smiled. "How are you today (Y/n)?"

"I'm fine. So, Sun asked for my help building a puppet show for the kids."

Eclipse nodded. "I am very thankful you came to help out today (Y/n)."

He handed you a small pile of clean socks. "I want you to making some sock puppets and paper puppets with me."

"What about the stage?" You asked.

Eclipse waved his hand. "Staff ordered it a few days ago, it should arrive tomorrow morning before the children arrive."

"Ohh, okay. So what do you want to start with?"

"Paper puppets are easier to make, we'll make some of those."

You nodded and grabbed some paper and markers.

You and Eclipse began drawing some characters on the papers.

Then you colored them, cut them out, and taped them to a stick.

You made a princess and a goblin, while Eclipse made a knight and a dragon.

You both also drew out some set pieces to tape onto the stage when it came the next morning.

"Alright." Eclipse said, staring down at the work so far.

"Do you need a lunch break?" He asked, looking at you.

Your stomach growled as he said that.

"Yes please." You laughed.

DAY AND NIGHT [CHAPTER FOUR]

Eclipse

You were having nice nap on the pile of plushies, until a bright light turned back on.

You slowly opened your eyes to adjust to the light and sat up.

All the other kids started waking up as well and Sun helped everyone up, including you.

"Okay children!" Sun said once everyone was awake. "It's 2:30. Which means we have time to play one more game before you all go home!"

The kids cheered.

"Today's game is dodgeball! In ball pit!"

You, Sundrop, and all 25 kids played dodgeball together in the ball pit.

When three o'clock came, Sun told all the children to put their shoes on and he told you to open the door for the parents.

You did and about 32 parents walked inside.

Some kids had single parents and some had both parents.

You and Sun talked to the parents and waved the children goodbye as they left.

A few more parents arrived a little later and picked up the remaining children."

After all the children left, you pushed the door closed and let out a loud sigh.

"Miss (Y/n)." Sun said behind you.

You turned around and looked at him. "Yes Sun?"

"Would you help me clean up?"

"Of course Sun." You smiled.

It took maybe ten to fifteen minutes, but you managed to clean up the daycare.

"Anything else I can do?" You asked.

"Yes, there is one last thing I need you to do for me." Sun said.

"Yes?"

"There is a button on the back of my neck that I need you to push to get me out of preformance mode."

"Preformance mode?"

"Yes."

You hummed and found the button, pressing it.

Sun jerked around a little bit before some of the sunrays disappeared and Moon's hat popped out of his chest before the pants on his suit turned blue while his shirt stayed a redish orange.

He let out a sigh as he put the hat on his head, except his voice sounded calmer.

He looked at you as you stared at him confused.

"You must be confused, (Y/n)." He said.

"I am..."

"Well, the sun and moon personalities are...preformer personalities." He explained. "And when I am not in performance mode, I am as happy as Sun and as calm as Moon. Best of both worlds."

"So, you're both Sun and Moon?"

"Yes, exactly."

"So what can I call you then?" You asked.

"Eclipse. That's what the other workers call me."

"Eclipse." You repeated. "You...are probably the coolest animatronic ever."

Eclipse let out a giggle and waved his hand. "You flatter me (Y/n)."

"No I'm serious. You can literally change designs in a matter of seconds! That's awesome!"

Eclipse giggled again. "Well thank you."

"So, the uniform and my schedule is on the desk?"

"Yes, that's right."

He showed you the desk and you saw your uniform and your schedule.

You looked over the schedule and saw you were only off Tuesday and Thursday.

But hey, at least you get payed decently.

You set down your schedule and picked up your uniform looking it over.

Your uniform was full of bright colors and it actually quite cute.

"Something unique about your outfit is that when the lights turn off, the little sun patterns on your uniform will glow in the dark." Eclipse said.

"Really?" You asked. "That's awesome!"

He nodded and climbed up the playstructures again to grab the cable.

"I also have a place for you to change into your uniform, that way you don't have to worry about forgetting it at home." He said as he lowered back down.

He held his hand out for you. "Take my hand, I'll show you."

You took his hand and he pulled you into his arms.

He wrapped his arms around your waist and jumped up towards the balcony above the ballpit.

You held onto him tightly, afraid he was gonna drop you.

"Don't worry (Y/n), I have a very tight grip on you. I won't drop you, you're safe."

He landed on the balcony and opened the curtain for you after he detached from the cable.

"This is my room, I apologize for it's messiness. If you arrive maybe ten minutes earlier than you are supposed to, I can bring you up here and you can change into your uniform."

"Thanks Eclipse." You said. "That's really helpful."

"Of course." He said as he reattached the cable before bringing you back to the ground.

"Have a good night." He said, hanging upside down on the table. "I will be waiting for you to arrive tomorrow morning."

You nodded and smiled at him. "Goodnight Eclipse."

You waved him goodbye and walked out of the daycare with your schedule.
