Hey all! Here's a quick lil' mockup I did of how to play Charlatan in Red. There's also a 10min tutorial video that's... just not high enough quality to go on our youtube page? Or at least I'll have to ask the band if they're ok with me doing that before I post it. I wanted to just throw it up on Tumblr but it was toooo big.
Please do reach out if it is confusing, I'm happy to provide clarity!

so I’ve passed the point of “acclimating myself to unfamiliar music like a flock of chickens needing to be in two adjacent enclosures while they get used to each other” with Dr. Carmilla’s solo music
(un?) fortunately the next step after that tends to be looping said unfamiliar music to the exclusion of everything else so I’m now starting thevoidsings’ youtube playlist for the fifth or sixth time today
#also have a diagram in my journal trying to connect things and put everything in chronological order#with about five notes of 'check forbidden lore on x'#meanwhile i'm facetiming my littler sister who is currently making abelskivers and homemade buttermilk syrup so that's a bit of a contrast#dr. carmilla#this happened with the mechs and fmns so it'll be fine but it's always a weird headspace#it will probably help when i can listen on my phone but i kinda want to wait til bandcamp friday so until then

I will say the fun thing about the FMNs fandom is that I'm never quite sure if someone's just getting hyped over the exsistance of a song or if there's a new release. I saw a dash full of RUSULKA AND THE SHEPARD GIRL from several accounts and just went "Yeah, ok, Rusalka and the Shepard Girl Friday/Early Saturday I guess" until someone eventually put the video up over here xD

FMN (SPOILERS) update has me running around. Luke’s mom meeting Jacaerys mom? Jace beating the Shit out of Aemond when they first meet? Jace reuniting with Rhaenyra? Papa Harwin with little Jace and Joff? Harwin and Jace discussing Lucemond shamelessly eye fucking? LUCEMOND COMING FRIDAY?!?! I’m going to have a heart attack one of these days
Also poor Aemond just wanted to go see a movie and got beaten bloody on sight. (Obviously more to it but Jace was not playing around)

i was going thru the fmns songs bracket and it's looking likely that rusalka and the shepherd girl is going to go up against charlatan in red sometime. what's your availability for single combat?
Well on Friday I can meet by the crossroads when it’s late and quiet. If that doesn’t work I could always just spirit you away to Faerie Land for like 7 years whenever
#I’m also available of the full harvest moon or either solstice but that probably would work out#too far away#aegis talks to the void

So uh the iOS update huh
it won’t effect me even though I use mobile (because I use it on the search engine/web browser not the actual app)(I use desktop basically )
but I do know a lot of people that follow my blog use the app version and I’m not sure if any of my posts will be effected or not? I know what tags are currently being censored and I don’t believe I’ve used them but Im not sure, But I would say for anyone using the app version to do what I do and just use the search engine/safari etc to use tumblr like I do, but I don’t believe any of my posts will be effected by the tag bans so most of you should be good, but If you want to be safe you can use desktop
#OH SPECIFICALLY THE FMN COMIC IM GONNA TW SOME STUFF SO WHEN IT DROPS FRIDAY DEFINITELY USE DESKTOP SO YALL DONT MISS IT IF ITS CENSORED#There’s a post going around with a Google doc of all the banned tags but if you haven’t seen it I’ve rbed it on main

Schedule Updates
When I had a bunch of time to myself, I’d run the contests on a fairly consistent basis for me. Lots of free time and lots of consistent life events meant that I could sit down on Friday, do the winners, go to FMN, then spend all of Saturday doing commentary. When more judges came on board, the schedule didn’t change, and as a result, neither did the individual workload.
For anyone who isn’t me, well, that turned out to be a bit of a problem.
Burnout is real, and asking for 2K-10K words to be cranked out in a weekend isn’t easy. Additionally, the last-minute entries make the time between their submission and winning pretty narrow. Keeping the Fair healthy for judges and contestants alike means that things are going to have to shift a little bit for everyone’s sake.
Here is the proposed Inventor’s Fair weekly schedule going forward:
Sunday: New contest announced
Monday + Tuesday: Example posts and/or blog posts as time allows
Wednesday: Midweek reminder
Thursday: Last time warning
Between Monday and Thursday: The commentary for the previous contest will be posted alongside whatever posts come on that day.
Friday: No submissions will be accepted past noon on the current judge’s time zone.
Saturday: Winners and entries will be posted.
Commentary is hard, and each individual’s needs for how they write it are different. I mean, coming up with contests and judging is hard in general. Everyone’s stepped up their game so much over the past few years that it’s agonizing to choose sometimes. The easy choice for us, though, is to ensure that everyone’s needs are met. Hopefully going forward this will ensure that realistic human expectations are met and that you as inventors can get the feedback you need.
Thank you! —@abelzumi and the Fair Judges

Looking forward to next chapter of FMN. 🙃Could you give us a sneak peek? 🥰
Hi Nonnie - I’m working on it, I promise! Even though I’ve had this story outlined for over a year, this next chapter took a bit of a turn, and it looks like we’re getting an extra chapter out of it. Maybe I can have it ready for Friday (writing gods and goddesses be willing). In the mean time, here’s a wee sneak peek:
“Claire has a migraine,” Ian declared firmly with a curt nod in her direction (the corner of his mouth quirked upward slightly as if to say, “trust me - I’ve got ye”). “I got her squared away wi’ yer assistant, Jamie, and ye and Geneva are all set for an appointment at her shop next week.”
A flurry of well wishes for Claire to rest up and to feel better filled the front parlor as she attempted to inch her way towards the exit. She kept her eyes trained towards the floor (micromanaging her legs to evenly place one foot in front of the other). Terror gripped her low in her gut, impossibly mortified that if she met the eyes of the company before her that her glass face would betray her (as it always had without fail). Her gaze turned inward, focusing on matching her breath with the rhythm of her steps - four steps to inhale, four steps to exhale, and repeat. Once she was sure she’d turned her back towards her clients (away from him), she allowed her chin to tilt skywards, eyelids sliding closed to capture tears that threatened to fall… except she hadn’t anticipated the tripping hazard that was yet another thick Persian rug in the foyer.
Claire felt her body toppling forward, her mouth opening indelicately wide as her joints jutted sharply forward (with the grace of a small child ice skating for the first time - a skill she never mastered). She was certain - she would fall flat on her face in the hallowed halls of the ancestral Fraser manor, ruining the beloved carpet with blood from her own busted chin and the mud that caked her boots. For a moment, she was airborne, floating above the floor she threatened to crash into and hovering above her clients, who’d only proved to be her greatest and most lethal enemies…
Until she felt her body being pulled back to earth in reverse (gravity was a fickle mistress after all).
Strong hands cupped her elbow and braced her lower back, gently guiding her upright before she could fall flat on her face. Gripping her shoulders, they steadied her before gently rubbing warmth into her shoulders. Claire sighed, melting into the comforting embrace (the calloused skin of working hands eliciting immoral thoughts and feelings through the thin cotton of her shirt). A familiar scent wafted across her face (freshly turned earth, rough hewn wood, and the spice of mulled wine). She turned in the arms of her savior - the person who prevented her total embarrassment…
… only to meet the piercing blue gaze of betrayal.

Friday (FMN) EDH/Commander report:
Played 6 games of commander! Game:1 Zada vs Omnath vs Angry Omnath Vs the red/green and green/white partner commanders Winner: Zada Thoughts: basically had to sneak Zada into this game because there are a few decks that players have in my play group that were created to counter Zada so I don't get to play Zada very often. This match up was in my favor since I didn't run into a lot of removal, I was possibly 1-2 turns away from being locked out of the game by the Angry Omnath player that had Goblin bombardment that could have just sac an elemental to shoot Zada for 4 dmg thanks to his commander if he was able to cast Omnath soon enough. Game:2 Jaya (Red Mastery) vs Angry Omnath vs Ydris vs Norn Winner: Jaya Thoughts: kinda just fumbled into the win here with mana geyser and reiterate into Comet storm after basically just wheeling and rummaging all game constantly Game:3 Jaya (Red Mastery) vs Geth vs Angry Omnath vs Ydris Winner: Geth Thoughts: the Geth player had a crazy mana rock start (like 5 mana possible turn 2) and also had dark depths and vampire hex mage like turn 4. So we all basically died to that Haha my deck only has like one answer to that and no of the other decks really had answers soon enough Game:4 Jaya (Red Mastery) vs Norn vs Wanderer vs Cromat 5 colors Gods and good stuff Winner: Jaya Thoughts: Had to all is dust and O stone to clear the board at important parts of the game. Won with Mizzix Mastery and Molten Psyche after Psychosis Crawler got everyone super low before it got Path'd Game:5 Jaya (red Mastery) vs Wanderer vs kynaios and Tiro Winner: Wanderer Thoughts: really subpar game for Jaya, didn't do much. Got super crushed by Wanderer when he cascaded into Avenger of zendikar and had his whole team getting +5/0 Game: 6 Sram vs Wanderer vs Ydris Winner: Sram Thoughts: Got a sweet hand with two lands and puresteel in my opening, went off like turns 3-4.
